Calm borders in Jammu and Kashmir for 5th consecutive day
http://www.defencenews.in/article.aspx?id=39165
Many families returned home to villages along the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu as calm prevailed for the fifth consecutive day on Saturday.

Scores of families returned to their daily routine of normal activities reaping crops, tending to livestock while children resumed classes in border villages in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Poonch and Rajouri districts.

Both the Pakistan Rangers and the Indian Army maintained quiet along the IB and LoC.

Farmers in R.S. Pura sector started harvesting their 'Basmati' rice crop, famous for its flavour and grain quality.

Similar agricultural activities were seen in Suchetgarh, Samba, Hira Nagar, Kathua and other places.

Scores of cattle left to stray as owners migrated following the indiscriminate Pakistan shelling, were also tended to by the owners.

Schools that were shut in areas affected by the shelling were re-opened and children returned to their classes after almost a fortnight.

Around 400 schools in five districts were affected by the shelling.

Terror funding channels have probably closed with the sudden demonitization. Probably caught the scum offguard. So local sleeper cells cannot pay for data etc May have aborted a prewinter push by the Paki's

Time to go for the kill rather than backing down and taking a breather. But I am sure the forces already know that. Just hope we don't get suckered into some woolly-headed logic for 'healing touches' by the likes of Mehbooba and that Yashwant Sinha led 'fact finding mission'.

The PA had admitted to 7 casualties in bimber

The admission is surprising given their track record in these matters

It is pretty surprising but over the past week or so they have been whining in a shrill tone about Indian artillery use and 'violation of the 2003 ceasefire', making a targeted effort at the P5. So this is could be dramebaazi towards that end.

What exactly is going on at the borders? This is a wholesale massacre of Pakistanis, that the Pak fauj is hiding from its people. What is the current desertion rate from the defenders of the fortress of Islam?

Why is big bad Hindu India doing this?

It was like 7 soldiers along with 26 civilians and total 107 in last few days.

Also saw some Paki journo's tweet quoting some number (can't remember but it was significant 2-digit number) of causalities on LOC and still Paki fauj celebrating CPEC. Something like that.

Apart from occasional cribbing/threats/protests, there is complete media silence in their news outlets. Their broader goal is CPEC and ours is Rupees for the time being.

Few on the baki forums boosted their sniper kills and videos of attacks on our posts, but even there it seems chill relative to the volatile situation on borders.

Either they are playing ignorant or "are" ignorant of the situation prevailing on borders. Even on our side people have gone back to square 1 with daily reports of "one casualty" with no squirming in media.

It looks like the 107 that she is referring to is the people injured. But how accurate her overall numbers are, is anybody's guess.

This happened as the casualties would have reached a critical mass where it was impossible to keep a lid on it. High secrecy devoids the troops, regiments and Army on whole to claim moral high ground in their society. It is a trade off Pakis have to make vs the aura of invincibility they have to maintain to reassure the populace of their security from Hindu India.

This is a familiar pattern followed earlier in Kargil War:

1. Denial
2. Secrecy/Silence
3. Bravardo
4. Cry uncle
5. Blame civvies
6. Coup

This time we are also not seeking any flag meetings to calm things down so Pakis are dazed and confused

We on the other hand are totally transparent in our casualties as pride and honour comes first. Nowadays Army publicizes casualties in ORs as well. In olden days OR casualties was just a number "eg: Major Xyz and 3 ORs killed".

More like Bakis had to kill the witnesses to the 7 mard e morons pest e shaheedization , the total would have been> 100 after applying the sharia witness coefficient

RCL or ATGMs?
The first shot coming in from the right seems like a konkours / milan type wire guided missle. The heavier ballistic round hitting the left portion of the bunker seems from a RCL.

Looking at the angles of the ammos striking the bunker, looks like IA has this poor post covered from multiple points.

Pity, the video does not show the all important hoisting of safed jhanda..

I think you have it the other way round. The projectile coming in from the left and hitting the watch tower has a characteristic white hot, smoke less exhaust found in atgms for the operator to visually cue it on to the target.

The rounds coming in from the left seem RCLs.

So not only multiple directions but multiple systems. Troops have to come into position very close to the post it seems. Superb.

Again the post is very heavily fortified with stone.

How suitable ATGMs are in bunker busting role?

There is a TOW variant (BGM 71H) optimized for bunker busting role. Does MILAN or Konkurs have such variants or their shaped charge warheads are enough to penetrate such fortified buildings.

I think the 'no smoke' rounds from the left are from the RCL

Check these 2-3 videos

1) FSA SPG-9 Kopye (Spear) - (warning - A-o-A background)

2) FSA SPG-9 ?

3) 106 mm AT RCL Saab Bofors

Hmm seems right. The ATGMs seem to have a non ballistic, zig-zaggy flight profile;

Konkurs - characteristic red exhaust:

Milan - this is probably what we used:

Only the old generation wire guided atgms follow this cork screw kind of flight profile. Newer missiles like Javelin, Nag etc are quite different. A lot of videos show them doing a steep dive on target for the final kill maneuver.

^^^ That is indeed ours DRDO netra it is used by BSF, Army and law enforcement agencies. Their chipanda friends can analyze what is the resolution at what height it can operate etc. nothing serious for such cheap UAV.

Secondly the submarine trailed by pakis was indeed our 209's they were probably snooping on chinki-paki naval exercises in Arabian sea from Nov 16, looks like their new P3Cs that massa donated are much capable than older generations. Nothing special these games will continue

RM Parrikar hints at multiple Army retaliations taken with Political blessing. I bet the last incident when 7 Pakis died was a SF op. 7 heads were taken.

http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report-ar ... ar-2275370
The Army is eager to teach a lesson to our country's enemy and it is just waiting for permission from the government, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said on Sunday.

"The morale of the Army has gone up. Army wants to teach lesson to our enemy. They are just waiting for permission from the government...We gave them permission two-three times," :Parrikar said during BJP's campaign meeting in Vasco.

Parrikar said, "We want to tell our enemy that if they stare at us, we can stare with bigger eyes." The minister said the country's borders are secured and no one could dare attack India.

^^ Just a noob question, why these artillery rounds caused just a small puff. Specially the one which landed on top of roof.

Is that because of using smaller caliber (mortar rounds) or there is something else to it?

^Not an answer but please note that "small puff" of smoke is as big as the building within 1 second of the explosion - indicating a blast that is bigger than is indicated by "small puff"
