Yes and No. For example,in earlier times, 15 - 20 years back, one would see islamic attire lot more relaxed in and around Ghosha hospital. The working personell would leave home with mild burqa and halfway through to the work, once they cross the mysterious boundary line, get rid of that burqa into their handbags etc., and continue with rest of the journey in nominal everyday bengaluru attire of the day (sarees were common for older women). The process would again repeat, when going back home. And the school going children were in normal uniforms, no islamic attires. Fast forward to recent times, Wahabism is on steroids, with complete saudi style attire. One can easily mistake as if someone stepped into arabic land and not in Bengaluru,Kerala if one gets into the ghettos. Now even children are enforced to strict attire.

The radical islam has taken a definite hold and is very strong and it is very noticeable across Bengaluru. The biggest concern is there is enough support for tinderbox to be set and is a serious security concern. Not sure, how well the security apparatus is clued in. But Bengaluru is now important enough that its image management reflects on India too. It is not unruly frontiers, Bengaluru will have enuf impact. It occupies lot of mind-space and many interested parties are out with fishing lines to cash on if and when troubled waters occur or to engineer one.

Brother-in-law 'faked' KG Halli molestation to marry woman
The “molestation” of a burqa-wearing woman in KG Halli, east Bengaluru, was faked by her brother-in-law who was desperate to marry her, police investigation has found. The suspect, Irshad Khan, 34, was arrested on Sunday.
.....
Police found that Khan, a sales executive at a private firm, was in a relationship with Laila, the 25-year-old sister of his wife.
.....
He planned to fake a similar incident. The motive was clear: he wanted to malign Laila and pressure her family to marry her off to him, the investigating officer said.

---------------
Looks like a person's attempt to enjoy both sisters at the same time has now back fired big time. And good that at least before the "secular" and "minority in danger" kind of stories coming out, the police blew the case open.

Imam issues ‘fatwa’ against PM, BJP for note ban
January 8, 2017

Shahi Imam of Tipu Sultan Mosque Maulana Nurur Rehman Barkati issued the fatwa at a meeting, chaired by the ruling Trinamool Congress MP, Idris Ali, in the Kolkata Press Club.

A Muslim cleric on Saturday issued a fatwa, offering a reward of Rs 25 lakh to anyone who will “cut off PM Narendra Modi’s beard, shave his head and smear him with black ink”. The move comes against the Centre’s decision to demonetise old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. Shahi Imam of Tipu Sultan Mosque Maulana Nurur Rehman Barkati issued the fatwa at a meeting, chaired by the ruling Trinamool Congress MP, Idris Ali, in the Kolkata Press Club.

This guy could even try this stunt only because he can marry more than one wife under Islamic shariat rules. Wonder if his present wife is allowed to 3T him!!!

Marrying two sisters is haraam in Islam.

On a related note. A peaceful co worker brought teertha from Mecca Sharif to the workplace. My madhava and smartha brahmin colleagues in the spirit of dharmic secularism dutifully accepted the prasad and spread the joyous news to other colleagues

A hockey stick replaces the gun

Sajeda Momin

It is being claimed that demonitisation has broken the back of the Maoists by making all their cash worthless. But this is merely a short-term solution since in a few months, the Maoists will again get hold of the new currency. There is, however, another man, who is attacking the Maoist menace where it hurts with a more positive approach — by preventing recruits. Dilip Tirkey, three-time Olympian and former Indian hockey team captain, is giving young tribals from the Red Corridor hopes and dreams by picking up hockey sticks and putting down the guns.

By organising the world’s largest rural hockey tournament, the 39-year-old former full-back and deep-defender, now Rajya Sabha member, is telling the youth of his community that if he can do it, so can they. Under the aegis of the Dilip Tirkey Sports Research and Development Foundation, Tirkey has organised the Biju Patnaik Rural Hockey Championships, which has 1,500 teams comprising around 24,000 players competing with each other for three months.

The championships, which began on December 14 last year has teams from 900 villages in the tribal belts of three states — Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand — part of the Naxal-infested Red Corridor. The matches, which are being played at 32 venues across the three states, will culminate in the final match on March 5, Biju Patnaik’s birth anniversary, at the Biju Patnaik Hockey Stadium in Rourkela.

In the presence of Vice-President Hamid Ansari, Odisha Chief Minister Navin Patnaik and a host of other former and current National hockey players, the once-shy Tirkey told thousands of young, enthusiastic tribals gathered for the inauguration not to join the Maoists.

“We do have a problem in our midst, and that is a few of our young friends have strayed from the path of righteousness. I also ask them to come back and pick up a hockey stick, instead of a gun,” said Tirkey.

These areas are characterised by unemployment, illiteracy, over-population, and most importantly, poverty, which is the prime breeding ground for Naxal recruits.

“This is the only chance we have of establishing what I call the ‘Hockey Order’ so that we can organise the youth towards an activity, which gives them a chance to get jobs in various sectors,” said Tirkey.

The Olympian, who too came from a very humble background, said “What would I have been if I hadn’t picked up a hockey stick?” It’s also about self-respect and giving back to a society which has given him so much.

“Trying to discipline youngsters cannot be just the job of educationists. Somewhere sport has to play a part,” says Tirkey. Tirkey began working on the tournament more than eight months ago. He admits that as all players are from poor and rural background, the logistics of getting them here and upto speed was a nightmare. However, now seeing their enthusiasm, he would like to see this turn into an all-India affair.

The Rajya Sabha MP and Navin Patnaik’s blue-eyed boy, Tirkey’s detractors have accused him of organising the championships with a political end in mind — helping him win the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from the area. “I don’t see anything wrong in what he is doing. If he is empowering the youth, why criticise that? Today he has brought forward hockey as an instrument for change. I think we should appreciate that,” said Shakti Singh, Santosh Trophy footballer and friend.

Tirkey grew up in the underdeveloped district of Sundergarh and put it on the country’s map with his hockey exploits. After retiring in 2010, he was nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the Biju Janata Dal. In 2014, Tirkey did run for the Lok Sabha on a BJD ticket from here but lost by a narrow margin. However, he rejects the possible political overtones of the tournament. “I am clear that this is a hockey event, and there is nothing political about it”.

The aim of the initiative is to scout for hockey talent, generate interest for the game among the youth and help them find the right path. Even if the championship is able to stop one tribal youth from picking up a gun and becoming a Naxal, it is a success, he adds.

This is a daily nautanki thing in JNU.
Interestingly the OBCs and other `oppressed` classes representing organisations have now started calling AISA and SFI `brahminical`. Something that AISA and SFI used to call ABVP earlier.

I think this may be from Jadavpur university which is a den of Naxalites and other leftist elements. Many of the leading academic centers in WB are their dens and there are dedicated people whose only job and aim in life is to brainwash entering students just like JNU. So these are training centers for cadres. Those who have done well from these centers in academia have mostly migrated but some have kept onto their beliefs e.g. Amartya Sen.

// WhatsApp update on the Chennai Marina Beach Student Movement hijack (looks reliable) -

Had an opportunity to meet one of a IB (Central Intelligence Bureau ) Inspector from chennai this evening. The conversation helped a lot to understand about in which way the jallikattu protest was going wrong and what made the state government to take a strong decision like lathi charge. Here are few essence of the information:

* On 26th January, a tamil organisation (A federation of various small organisation and thugs celebritieslike Seeman, Amir, Gowthaman) have planned to introduce a separate tamilnadu flag, map. They have also planned to remove the Indian flag from Chennai Marina's war memorial and hoist separate tamilnadu flag. This report was sent by IB to Central home ministry and PM office.

* Director gowthaman who was suffering to pay his house rent a few months before had a very heavy liquid cash transactions last few days. This made a doubt to IB team and enquiry was more shocking. A huge fund was mobilized all over the world from LTTE supporters and the cash provided to Gowthaman and few others was to plant separatist ideologies among peaceful protesters.

* Seeman @ Simon, Thirumurugan Gandhi were the people who was choosed to lead the moment from front and he had been paid enough to do that.

* A christian college management in chennai and few christian missionaries played a major role in bringing in fisherman community (Converted Christians) into the movement. Koodankulam Uthayakumar's team worked day and night. Fishermen and their family who took part in procession and protest demanding separate tamilnadu were paid 400 Rs/ head daily and offered free food and alcohol.

* IB had also sniffed that Naxal Paari group, maoist supporters, ISIS supporters have invaded inside the peaceful protesters to preach their terrorism ideologies among people and spread hatred on India.

* A huge plan was executed by Islamic radical organisation to spread hatred on Modi. A stage setup on the middle of Marina protest helped them a lot with that motive. Bit notice were supplied to people participating in protest with an intention to spread hatred on BJP, RSS and Brahmin community.

* On the other side a team setup by Natarajan (Sasikala's husband ) was spreading hatred on CM Mr.Ops and Modi. News7 owner Vaikundarajan funded the move and helped Natarajan by telecasting negative news on OPS and Modi via his channel.

* In many places DMK goons entered into the protest and spreading hatred on TN government and OPS. They started influencing the crowd in a wrong way.

* 3 days before when Mr.Karthikeya Sivasenathipathy, Mr.Rajasekar, HiP hop tamila aadhi met central home minister in Delhi, all these issues were brought to their knowledge with evidence and IB report.

Pro-jallikattu protesters displayed Osama pictures and demanded a separate TN nation, Panneerselvam says
Protesters on the Marina Beach in Chennai had displayed pictures of late al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, said chief minister O Panneerselvam in the assembly on Friday.

Showing photos of the banners which had the pictures Osama, the chief minister said, "Some protesters demanded a separate Tamil Nadu nation, and there is photographic proof of some of them holding pictures of Osama. Some of them called for boycott of the Republic Day."

Panneerselvam was replying to a calling attention motion moved by leader of the opposition M K Stalin on the violence in Chennai. Violence broke out in Chennai on Monday when police tried to evict pro-jallikattu protesters.

"What is the need for use of police force on people who were protesting peacefully," asked Stalin.

Various anti-social elements and organisations had infiltrated into the week-long protest on the Marina with the intention of diverting it, said Panneerselvam.

"I promise that the evil forces behind the violence here on Monday would be identified and brought to book. The police used only mild force and acted only after information that some protesters wanted to prolong the stir till Republic Day," said the chief minister.

He alleged that some of the groups wanted to show black flags and create disturbances during Republic Day (Thursday).

"Some policemen sustained injuries, and many police vehicles were damaged by the miscreants during Monday's violence," he said.
A party like the DMK was on the forefront of separatism for long before strong-arm tactics by the Nehru government stopped them on their tracks. While they have outwardly changed stance, there are embers which have been visible whenever an opportunity arose. The Tamil cinema field, which unfortunately has been determining the course of politics in Tamilnadu for the last five decades, has some celebrities who have similar tendencies. They have been spinning theories on how TN does not 'belong' to India. This is largely built on hatred towards Hinduism. These theories come handy to several Christian evangelical groups who see a great opportunity and radical Islamist organizations which have multiplied due to benign neglect by all the Dravidian rulers. Then there are Tamil Tigers supporters who nurse a deep antagonism towards the Central government (both past & present) for what they propagate as 'anti-Tamil stance'. Added to this is the competitive politics among many political parties to crown themselves as the 'protectors of Tamil culture'. The more they instigate, the merrier they think. Unfortunately, the Centre has been also found wanting in the past in some instances leading to festering wounds. The situation is grave in Tamilnadu.

Overall, I think O.Panneer Selvam handled the situation well. The police did not attack the protestors. They used force only after the anti-national elements had started attacking them. At least that was what happened in Chennai. OPS's statement in the Assembly should clear the doubts of the naysayers.

Police may ban outfits for their role in violence - The Hindu
The city police [Chennai] is contemplating a ban on seven “anti-national” and “anti-social” outfits allegedly behind the violence on the Marina Beach on Monday, marring the peaceful protests.

The police, though, are not revealing the names of the outfits. “We have video evidence of the arsonists who unleashed the violence. We also have evidence on who set fire to the Ice House Police Station,” said a senior police officer.

“A thorough investigation is on. We will release the name of the seven outfits that indulged in violence and incited others to take up violence at the conclusion of the probe,” the officer said.

City police claim that some fundamentalist and anti-national groups were behind the violence in areas adjoining the Marina Beach.

“Police will invoke stringent provisions of the National Security Act against the outfits that tried to steer the peaceful protests in a different direction and planned to sabotage the Republic Day celebrations,” the officer said.

Police sources said the supporters of the outfits had come from other districts and States and stayed in the mansions of Triplicane.

Not specifically about your co-workers but I don't know why the resentment needs to be 'passive'. I wouldve said straight no to his face, albeit politely. We need to be more assertive and aggressive. When a Muslim doesn't take prasad, people understand and don't say anything because Muslims are proud, that's their default stance. Our default stance should be like that too. In fact, if one of us goes clear and proud, others would follow.
This is also why I don't mind the attack on Bhansali over his new film, that happened yesterday. Everybody, especially political class and bollywood, licks the feet of Muslims because they know their threats are backed by real violence and action. It's time we showed then the same too

Snatch made in heaven
A top chain-snatcher’s wedding in Ambivali in Thane district on Sunday was a 1000-guest affair. And the guest list was not an ordinary one, it was a veritable roll-call of India’s top chainsnatchers, seasoned thieves and master muggers.

Twenty policemen kept a close watch on the festivities, but did not intervene as they felt it could have led to a lawand-order problem. Thane Police Commissioner Parambir Singh has ordered an inquiry.

According to the police, the groom Toufiq Teji Shah alias Irani, who has over 25 cases of chain-snatching against him, married his aunt’s daughter Sohra Irani. Sohra is only 15, but that was a detail easily ignored at the celebration dominated by outlaws.

Senior Inspector Ravindra Doifode, who heads the anti-chain snatching squad in Thane, said his team had orders only to keep a watch on the gathering. “It was not wise to disrupt the wedding as it could have caused serious law and order situation. We knew the family would use women and children as human shield if we tried to arrest Toufiq,” he said.

We were not raped, tribal girls tell HC - The Hindu
Refuting the claims of some activists about the alleged gang-rape of two tribal girls from Chhattisgarh by C-60 commandos in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, the two girls appeared before the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court on Monday and denied that they were “molested” by the policemen.

The tribal girls, who belonged to Kanker district of Chhattisgarh bordering Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, were “detained” for a night by a team of C-60 commandos on January 20 in Hiddur and Murewada forest of Gadchiroli after an encounter between Maoists and the C-60 team.

However, some activists from Gadchiroli had launched a campaign against the police alleging that the girls were “gang-raped” by C-60 commandos that night.

The girls, who were lodged in a correction home on Sunday after a special sitting of the high court, were brought to the high court on Monday.

Advocate Gayatri Singh, who appeared for Gillu Ram Gota, the brother of one of the girls, alleged that the two girls were “under tremendous pressure” from the police and would not speak the truth.

Testify in judges’ chamber

The Bench of Justices B.R. Gavai and Indira Jain, however, asked both the tribal girls to come to the judges’ chamber to testify. Both the tribal girls “emphatically denied any such act by the police”.

The court also held that the girls were “compelled” by the sarpanch of Jambia Gatta village, Sheela Gota, to inform the petitioner, Gillu Ram Gota, about “the incident which never took place”.

The high court permitted both the girls to go home along with their relatives.

Mrs. Gota and her husband were arrested by the police on Saturday from the office of advocate Nihal Singh Rathod in Nagpur. Some more activists, who were part of the campaign against the police, were also arrested in the last two days.
They were granted bail by a Gadchiroli court on Monday.

Kanpur train accident: prime suspect arrested in Nepal
One of the key suspects in connection with the derailment of Indore-Patna Express in Kanpur was arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport on Tuesday after being deported from Dubai.

A special team of Nepal Police arrested Samshul Hoda and three others.

---
Looks like this was a well coordinated plan by three police agencies (Indian, Dubai & Nepal). The scoundrel was first deported from Dubai (I am sure MEA had played an active role here), and Nepal police was waiting for him to set foot in Nepal. Earlier even this news may only come out, after Mr. Shamsul Hooda was found loitering suspiciously at a bus stand in Indo-Nepal border, and the beat constables arrested him".

Because it involves multiple agencies who can scuttle each other plans. Here in Hoda's case the Dubai authorities needs to convince their courts to get this fellow kicked out of the country. And there again he cannot be kicked out to any other country, but only to the country who gave him the passport. And then it is India who actually wants this fellow (for a crime done here). He can reach Nepal, and still run to that country's judiciary to say that he fears for his life etc. The best extradition I think was of Yakub Memon. Finally he was found waiting for a train at New Delhi Railway station, where the police arrested him and recorded the arrest ;).

Huge cache of arms unearthed in Vishakapatnam - The Hindu
In a joint operation by the West Bengal police and the Visakhapatnam city police, two members of a nine-member gang from Bihar were arrested here on Wednesday night.

In a sensational follow-up on Thursday, the crime branch of the Visakhapatnam police recovered a huge cache of sophisticated weapons. It included five automatic .32 foreign made pistols, one tapancha (country-made pistol), 80 rounds of .32 and 6 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

This was the biggest arms haul in Viskhapatnam city in recent times.
More important, it was a preventive arrest. The gang was allegedly planning to loot a few offices of Muthoot Finance, Manappuram Finance and a couple of nationalised banks. The arrested were identified as Thakur Anurag Kumar Singh alias Jacky and Sunny Kumar Singh of Bihar.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Visakhapatnam, T. Ravi Kumar Murthy, two other members of the gang, Sasanth Singh and Manoj Kumar, had been arrested earlier at Pusapatirega in Vizianagaram. Another member, Mukesh Prasadwas, was arrested from Rajamahendravaram on February 6. All of them hailed from Bihar. “The arrest of the three members gave us the lead to close in on Jacky and Sunny. The duo was arrested in a covert operation from R.K. Beach,” he said.

Plans to loot Muthoot

“The weapons were recovered from a house in Budhavarapu Gardens, a posh locality in the city, that was rented by the duo. All nine gang members had decided to meet on Thursday at R.K. Beach and plan the operation.

Jacky and Sunny, who moved to the city on January 29, had conducted a recce of a couple of offices of Manappuram and Muthoot,” said Mr. Murthy.

The gang had, in July 2016, committed an armed robbery at a finance company in Nagpur and made good with about 30 kg of gold. In December last, it looted the office of Manappuram in Barrackpore in Bengal and decamped with 30 kg of gold. The leader of the gang, Subodh Kumar Singh alias Kumar Gaurav, is still at large and is being tracked by the police of Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Maharashtra.

The seized weapons, except the tapancha , had the marking ‘Made in USA.’ But they looked like .32 Beretta pistols, the police said. While the make was yet to be established, it was likely that they were purchased from the ‘Red Corridor’ area of Nepal or from the grey market in Malda, Bengal.
The Manappuram & Muthoot have been sitting ducks and over the last few years, hundreds of kilograms of gold have been looted from them all over the country. Yet, it is not clear if they have learnt any lesson at all. Their lax security is a threat to the country as terrorists can finance themselves by easily picking on these two firms.

^^ Loss of political power and economic opportunities in Bihar is driving upper caste hindus to crimes. It is a general trend now.

Which also gives me a feeling that are these staged robberies, which also helps these "blade companies" to tweak their account books. They seem to be the only firms which seems to have got looted pretty much in every state they operate.

The EJ python's grip is slowly tightening across the political spectrum in Tamil Nadu. The European countries especially Norway, and others are the covert wing of the EJ. They are pinch and deep hitters operating under the guise of human rights and other non-sense. The DMK is already a crypto-EJ with marxist combo. The mannargudi mafia is already compromised. One can easily see the way JJ was buried. JJ's niece Deepa Patrick is already compromised. OPS is being teased out and his steadfastness or otherwise is being determined.
TN is slowly getting into the firm grip of EJs. JJ had to reverse her order against conversions. JJ was just being figure head in her last administration. OPS is being suckered into the web. The spin and maya of EJ is very strong. Have to admire the chutzpah of these EJs. No let up. Will explore every single weakness. TN is in for a protracted new identity. Remember Eric Solheim, from Norway, who was exclusively dealing with LTTE. Well, it is looking like a redux of the same. Interesting that these vultures are always on the lookout for opportunity.

Identity theft is going to be a big problem in India going forward, when you allow all sorts of roadside loafers to access the aadhar data.

The telecom retail outlets and phone shops are almost exclusively in the hands of a minority group and now aadhar access services are already going down the same familiar route.

talk about apne pair pe kuladi maarna or is it genuine sabotage by vested interests??

people were asked to swipe their fingers more than once & their Aadhar number were then used to activate as many SIMs

@ceo_uidai Any comments?

Salesmen of @reliancejio caught stealing fingerprint scans #Aadhaar data in Indore. Dainik Bhaskar Report attached.

while they want the authentication to be ubiquitous like browsers, maybe they can add SSL capability at hardware level into the biometric device itself so no man in the middle attack happens even if the cell phone is used as intermediary, licensing the biometric devices using the certificate trust chains model followed on the internet might be quicker.
