The Pentagon has sent to Iraq and Syria more than 400 airmen along with B-52H Stratofortresse jets for day-to-day combat operations in a first event of a kind in over twelve years.

WASHIGTON (Sputnik) — B-52 bombers at Minot Air Force Base in the US State of North Dakota have been deployed, along with more than 400 airmen, to the air campaign in Syria and Iraq against the Daesh terror group (outlawed in Russia), the Department of Defense stated in a press release on Wednesday.
Meanwhile,Russia is keeping up the tempo. There seems to be a definite understanding and joint strategy between the US and Russia, both using their heavies to exterminate ISIS .

Russian Tu-22M3 Strategic Bombers Lay Waste to Daesh in Deir ez-Zor

21:00 04.02.2017(
Watch Russian strategic Tu-22M3 bombers flattening Daesh targets in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor.

Since January 21, Moscow has conducted six massive air attacks on terrorists besieging the province's capital. The latest air raid took place on February 3. As usual, six Tu-22M3 bombers took off in Russia and flew over Iran and Iraq. Air cover was provided by Su-30S and Su-35SM jet fighters from Russia's Hmeymim airbase in Province Latakia.

Daesh terrorists had surrounded the Deir ez-Zor military airfield in Syria's northeast by mid-January.

Turkey wants diplomatic solution on Syria's Manbij, defense minister says
Speaking to broadcaster A Haber in an interview, Isik also said Turkey was considering every option to prevent Kurdish militants from taking a foothold in Iraq's Sinjar, including a joint ground operation with the forces of the Masoud Barzani, President of the Iraqi Kurdish Region.
Clearly, the recent fighting in Sinjar was orchestrated by Turkey.

Is it a photoshop image? Who is the cowled darth sidious on the right?

Isis launched another huge attack on deir azzor airbase
Last night preceded by child suicide bombers.
Some 40 airstrikes hit jabal thardeh and cemetary over the next 4 hours. The 104th repub guard element is fighting there and it continues.

Methinks amrika should atone for its "mistake" there
And send in a couple of b52 guided by russi socom already in the town

Nothing like a b52 to spoil someones day

the mountains north of palmyra have to be secured first and the southern flanks cleared before going forward more. likely to be lightly held as the bulk will have retreated beyond arak.

it amazes me how the isis can arrange for food, shelter, oil and weapons in the middle of desert for 1000s of fighters for months when their main supply depot would be 100s of km east. surely they too need to eat and sleep ? could be a secret supply chain or prebuilt caches in the southern desert.

the syrians lack of surveillance assets and strike a/c means these supply chains are mostly unhurt

9th armour div of iraqi army now working with PMU west of mosul (cleared badush area) will likely keep moving west and finally take the town of tal afar while PMU cleans up the countryside. they have the required organic armour, mraps, hummers and BPJs for urban fighting which pmu does not. plus they are khan certified

the leadership of isis and their families have fled raqqa in boats and vehicles earlier. centcom thinks they are hiding in a chain of places from deir azzor down to al qaim much further SE.

so raqqa is purely a military op, not going to snuff out the khalifa or his tier1 minions.

this is a good map of syria because it does not colour the whole desert black for isis.
it shows where isis actually is.

the white areas belong to whoever has a gun and can stand on it.

israelis fished in troubled waters last night. 4 planes attacked syrian govt locations near palmyra of all places. multiple S200 SAMs were launched.
the syrians claim 1 plane shot down, the idf claims all escaped intact
one SAM seems to have flown on and landed in israel or was shot down by a ABM later

but in any case, a chetawani has been given that its not going to be business as usual.

Israeli airforce will continue attacking Hezbollah and rocket deliveries to it from Iran. Everywhere in Syria. Israel has a clear policy that it would not allow hezbollah to be armed with weapons that endanger its security.
Russia wont do squat over this either. Bibi has a clear understanding with Putin over this.
Syrians accusing Israel of supporting ISIS is nothing new.
In fact many BRFites do that too.
Israel doesnt give a f***k. They will keep doing what they wanna.

1st part of a 5 part russian analysis on the ramouseh battle. its clear the syrians initially lacked well trained troops thats why they were pushed out and regain attempts failed. later the tigers and liwa al quds arrived and took it back.

https://southfront.org/detailed-analysi ... po-part-1/

link to russian part2 to 5 is at the end of the article.

infantry tactics with tanks and supporting arms is sure a complex field of work...one just cannot put together a 1 week crash course and get people to fight like seasoned troops

PALMYRA AREA: Do not believe the Zionist lies. Their aircraft were not targeting a convoy of trucks carrying ground-to-ground missiles bound for Hizbollah bases in the Lebanon. In fact, the bombers were targeting Syrian Army operations near Palmyra, specifically those having to do with removal of rats from oil and gas fields which ISIS desperately needs to keep its cash flow viable. 4 Zionist F-16s took off from Occupied Palestine at approximately 2:35 a.m. and flew into Syrian airspace at about 2:40 a.m. right over the town of Al-Burayj. SAA radar picked up the jets and orders were issued to track them. When the F-16 rat pilots saw that they were being pursued, they called off the operation fearing a crash on Syrian soil and returned toward Occupied Palestine. Just as they were about to enter Zionist occupied airspace over the Galilee, 2 SA-5 (“Gammon” or S-200) anti-aircraft missiles were fired with one striking the lead bomber and the other exploding near another. The rodent pilots were able to eject safely and landed in Palestine.

Nominally I would believe IsAF about intent and results of air strikes, but in this case the support of ISIS is a bit too obvious. Looks like there are/were actually Israeli/Israeli-sponsored elements on the ground near Palmyra, who had to be protected?

Given that Israel has been lying about the obvious support for ISIS in the Golan, I don't believe their claims about Hezbollah being the reason for their doing missions over Syria. In any event, it is gross invasion.
