Pakistan ready for mediation to resolve Middle East crisis: PM Nawaz
Not sure if Nawaz wants mediation or wants to mediate. But, now that their turk birathers have jumped into the middle eastern goulash, this will be interesting. Will hair-club-for-men nawaz choose al saud or el erdogan?

"Randi-Baz Rasheed" Now Accused Of Fraud !

Man accuses Sheikh Rasheed of non-paying him Rs2.2 million after purchasing vehicle
ISLAMABAD – Chairman Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed faced a hard time outside the parliament on Thursday when a man accused him of not paying him Rs 2.2 million for the purchase of a vehicle.According to Geo News, Rasheed who came out of the lower house of parliament confronted a man named Malik Noor Awan who demanded his hefty amount pending on part of Sheikh Rasheed. Malik Noor Awan who is president of Pakistan Muslim League Japan faction  expressed that he sold a vehicle worth Rs 2.2 million to the legislator but the latter did not pay him the due amount.
Throwing weight behind Sheikh Rasheed, leader of the opposition Syed Khursheed Shah maintained that the issue was pivotal and stern action should be taken in this regard. Although this is common with Paki politicos, Rasheed's fraudstering crime pale into insignificance when compared to the massive corruption antics of Ganja Sharif and Dus Percent Zardari

One Who Luckily Escaped The Gallows!

Supreme Court acquits blasphemy accused for lack of evidence
ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court of Pakistan exonerated an individual facing life imprisonment on allegations of desecrating the Holy Quran here on Wednesday.
The apex court also stated that the lower courts appeared not to have conducted a fair trial of the case.“Why were sections pertaining to terrorism added [to the charges against the accused]?” the bench inquired. The court subsequently issued the order to absolve the defendant of all charges, citing a lack of substantial and credible evidence. IMO, the free individual is going to be a "ripe target" for future Wajib-ul- Cutlet operations

Well-Known Paki Anal-list Overlooks "Deep State" Role When He Criticizes Pres. Ghani 's "Outburst" .

Ghani’s outburst and Pakistan’s options
Imtiaz Gul.
Asharaf Ghani’s charged Pakistan-focused speech before the Kabul Process Summit on June 6 in the presence of a Pakistani delegation left quite a few foreign delegates wondering as to what the embattled president was up to.His accusatory finger at Pakistan for the “undeclared war of aggression” on Afghanistan came across as pretty mind-boggling because, going by his assertion, he should have mentioned Turkey, Iran, China, and Russia ( but these countries are not creating "mischief" in Afghanistan as Pakistan thru its proxies does !) who are all on the same page as far as Taliban and Daesh are concerned.
As the tug-of-war among major stakeholders in Kabul continues, with most of them making Pakistan a scapegoat for their country’s ills, this alarming situation places unusual responsibility on the power wielders in Islamabad. The unabated security and political crisis in Afghanistan represents multiple challenges and requires a synergy of thought and action between the prime minister’s office and the General Headquarters (GHQ) because the external jockeying for geo-political influence is not only muddying but also complicating the Afghan situation. This seasoned journo should know that Afghan( and India !) policy is the sole purview of the Deep State. The PMO has no input on this !)
Why should such statements flow out of the GHQ only? Why can’t the civilian government reiterate its offer of support in counter-terrorism to Afghanistan and also take the bull by the horn in case of slander and misplaced accusations from across the border? The "misplaced accusations" of the Afghan Govt have been backed by "evidence and proof"!
Unless the civilian ruling elites step out of their comfort zones to jointly own and lead the security/foreign policies, Pakistan might be in trouble much more severe than what it has faced since the Soviet-Russian invasion and occupation of Afghanistan. The only solution to this problem is to treat Afghanistan as an equal partner and not use it as an "strategic depth" or backyard of Pakistan !

No ‘concrete evidence’ of India’s hand in disappearance of Habib: Pakistani Minister - PTI, The Hindu
The “kidnapping” case of a retired Pakistan army officer in Nepal could not be taken to the ICJ or the UN on the basis of “assumptions” as there is no “concrete evidence” suggesting India’s hand in it, a Minister has told Parliament.

Minister for States and Frontier Regions Gen (retd.) Abdul Qadir Baloch said it was yet to be established that Muhammad Habib Zahir had been picked up by the Indian forces, Dawn reported.

“No final report suggesting that the Indian intelligence agency (RAW) or the Indian government was involved is available with the Foreign Office (FO) or the government,” he said while winding up a discussion on an adjournment motion in the Senate on Wednesday.

Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani asked if the statement meant that the Foreign Office was exonerating India from the kidnapping of Mr. Habib as the Minister had admitted “absence of concrete evidence”.

Mr. Baloch replied in negative, saying: “We are hundred per cent sure that Indian intelligence agency RAW is behind the kidnapping, but the evidence to this effect is not final”.

The issue appeared to have a link with the conviction of Kulbushan Jadhav, he said, but stressed that material was required to legally prove it.

Mr. Baloch told the Senate that the issue of “kidnapping” of Mr. Habib in Nepal some two months ago could not be taken to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) or the United Nations “on the basis of assumptions”, the report said.

The FO was trying to obtain solid evidence and the Nepalese government had been asked to get in touch with three Indians who had received Mr. Habib at the airport, Mr. Baloch said.

He said it was still not clear whether the three people were Indian government employees or civilians or working for a private firm. The matter has also been taken up with India.

The Minister said the incident took place two months ago, but expressed his helplessness about non-cooperation from Nepal, saying no sovereign country could be pressured.

The Senate chairman directed Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz to brief the house on the steps taken by the government on the mysterious disappearance of Mr. Habib, the current regional situation with a reference to Qatar crisis among others.

This is almost like the Israeli Mossad organization's "snoop & snap the prey before even the prey knows it" tactic.

I bet all of you .. none of the UPA or current Congress ruled governments would have the temerity to do something like this to our most-intense, life-long hatred filled neighbour !. Kudos to the people in power & the people who executed this operation !!. No wonder .. the usually crap, lazy, unbelievably bombastic, useless Pakis are once again crying from pain inspite of knowing who has delivered that pain but can't even complain about it to anybody. All our IB/RAW/Spy/Army/Government Officer folks need to be vigilant and aware that the crappy Pakis will try to do something similar to us as a response for having humiliated them and we need to be totally aware & actually set a trap to capture the Pakis - when they mount that effort !.

In baki lexicon 100% surety means nothing; perhaps even less that the word of a kufr. As mushy once said, bakis have to be 400% sure. Only then their wild ass assumptions can be deemed as "pojitive proofs" (which are yet to be manufactured), worthy enough for presenting at the ICJ.

PAKISTAN: Journalist Receives Death Threats For Writing About Religious Minorities
Pakistani journalist Rana Tanveer has received death threats at his home in Lahore for writing about religious minorities in the country.
According to Mr. Tanveer, he moved to his current home just under one and a half years ago so that his daughter could attend a local school. Three months ago, his landlord began receiving calls from an unknown number advising him to evict Mr. Tanveer and his family, saying that he is a “kafir” and an “enemy of Islam.” Recently, Mr. Tanveer came home and found his home vandalized.
The threat reads, “Qadiani nawaz Rana Tanveer kafir wajib ul qatl,” which means, “Qadiani supporter Rana Tanveer is an unbeliever who deserves to be killed.” “Qadiani” is a derogatory term for Ahmadi Muslims.
Falijee Ji :

Qadiani is NOT A DEROGATORY term for Ahmadiyya Community, the Sect’s founder is from QADIAN about 10 Miles from Batala and about 30 Miles from Amritsar - Ahmadiyyas are also referred to as Qadiani.

No terror havens in Pakistan, says top diplomat; audience bursts into laughter - PTI, Economic Times
WASHINGTON: Pakistan's top diplomat in the US was laughed at by a Washington audience when he repeatedly insisted that there are no safe sanctuaries for terrorists in Pakistan and that the Taliban leader, who reportedly died in a hospital in Karachi, never left Afghanistan.

"What is there funny about," a visibly irritated Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, the Pakistan Ambassador to the US, told a Washington think-tank audience which burst into laughter when he repeatedly argued that there is no terrorist safe havens in Pakistan and that Mullah Omar never left Afghanistan to visit Pakistan.

The reality is, however, different, argued former US diplomat Zalmay Khalilzad, who served as his country's ambassador to Afghanistan, Iraq and the UN.

"We have very firm evidence of his (Mullah Omar) presence in Pakistan, where he went, lived, ..hospital," he said, adding that for a long time there was the idea that bin Laden never left Afghanistan.

"There is ample evidence that while the operation was going on Haqqani network was being evacuated to safer location," the former US Ambassador to Pakistan said during a panel discussion on 'Regional Perspectives on the US Strategy in Afghanistan', at the Atlantic Council's South Asia Center.

Chaudhry appeared to be isolated as two other panelist - the former Indian minister Manish Tewari and top American think-tank expert Ashley Tellis - joined Khalilzad to say that terrorist safe havens continues to exist in Pakistan and there is level of support from the Pakistani establishment.

"What sanctuaries you are talking about? If you want to live in the past, you cannot solve the present. Haqqani and the Taliban are not our friends. They are not our proxies. What Quetta Shura you are talking about? What Peshawar Shura?" the Pak Ambassador questioned to an amused Washington audience, who was witness to sharp debate between him and Khalilzad. The panel discussion had an abrupt end as the two exchanged words.

Tellis said while the safe havens continue to exist in Pakistan, a great deal of financial and personnel supply does come from Afghanistan. But there is no denying that the Taliban leadership are based in Pakistan, he said.

Tewari said it is time that Pakistan should introspect as to why the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani who went to Rawalpindi to meet the Pakistan Army Chief has turned against Pakistan. Ghani is actually constrained to say Pakistan is having an undeclared war with Afghanistan.

"Those are extremely strong statements coming from the head of state," he said.

During the question and answer session, a Afghan diplomat, Muhammad Asad, and an Afghan woman journalist Nazira Karimi of Ariana television joined the three other panelist to challenge Chaudhry's assertion about terrorist safe haven.

"Our allegation is evidence based," Asad said adding that while the carrot formula has not worked, it is time for the US to look the other way around.
Karimi referred to the allegations of US lawmakers about continued terrorist safe havens in Pakistan, which he dismissed.

The Pakistan Ambassador said his country wants a peaceful, stable, sovereign and prosperous Afghanistan.

"Afghan soil should not be used against Pakistan. Other than that, we want to facilitate reconciliation. ..Just blaming Pakistan all the time will not help. What will help is recognise what Pakistan has done for Afghanistan," he said.

Chaudhry also accused India of being a part of a "double squeeze strategy".

Asserting that India has a "strategic" interest in Afghanistan, he alleged that this is part of the "double squeeze strategy" of New Delhi against Islamabad.

"India does have strategic interest in Afghanistan. It could be part of the double squeeze strategy against Pakistan. To that end an Afghanistan that is not stable would serve India's purpose and that's why India is opposing reconciliation with Taliban of any kind," Chaudhry told a Washington audience.

Participating in a panel discussion on "Regional Perspectives on the US Strategy in Afghanistan", at the Atlantic Council's South Asia Center, Chaudhry accused India of trying to be a "hegemonic" power in the region.

Another "Circular Loan" Rolled Over

Govt to borrow another Rs41b to pay circular debt
The Express Tribune > Business
ISLAMABAD:
After being unable to address structural issues in the power sector, the government on Wednesday decided to acquire yet another loan of Rs41 billion from commercial banks to partially retire the circular debt. The decision will ease the power sector’s financial woes for the time being, but will not address the challenges that have led to the accumulation of over Rs402 billion in circular debt over four years of the current government. The "whole world" knows that Pakistan is living "hand to mouth", but it stills makes a pretense of joining the G20 within two decades !
The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet agreed that the Ministry of Finance would issue sovereign guarantees for arranging a syndicated term finance facility of Rs41 billion for the power sector, according to a statement issued by the finance ministry.
Although the running power sector circular debt will come down to Rs360 billion, the stock of debt will go up to Rs415 billion.“The purpose of borrowing is to have enough liquidity to keep the system running,” said Yousaf Naseem Khokhar, Water and Power Secretary. Shady book-keeping and Lahori Logic is not going to solve the inherent problem : Pakistan is lying way beyond its means !
Machinery procurement
The ECC approved Rs864 million worth of bridge financing for the Printing Corporation of Pakistan (PCP) to purchase new printing machinery for meeting requirements of the Election Commission of Pakistan including with respect to general elections in 2018. PCP is required to print 200 million ballot papers for the elections within three weeks of the placement of orders while its existing capacity is only 125 million papers in the given time. Why do you need to print ballot papers and hold elections . Pakistan is governed by "Sharia". And Sharia does not require "elections" It will return the loan over a period of five years.

I somehow dont get the answer of the fact that how as a near bankrupt state they plan to sustain a war beyond 2/3 weeks. Unless of course
1. dying in a massive indian nook strike is part of the plan
2. If they dont plan to use their nooks, they plan to turn ahimsavadi and offer themselves as martyrs for indian offensive
3. is surrendering like '71 after having nukes still an option?

They have made the A-bomb, now they are turning towards eating grass. We have to help them in their quest

Is Ganja's Goose Being Cooked For Sure This Time Around

PML-N questions expertise of army men in JIT
LAHORE: The PML-N camp which seems to have been losing its patience with the joint investigation team probing Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his children for their alleged off-shore holdings, declared on Wednesday that it will seek an explanation for the inclusion of the ISI and MI members in the body, warning of launching an agitation against the JIT proceedings.Visibly nervous, the PML-N leaders who looked satisfied with the formation of the JIT by Supreme Court over a month ago, now want its dissolution for different reasons. The Paki Fauj does not want the incompetent Ganja Sharif to become too comfortable in his "role of PM" , hence this turnaround IMO
“WhatsApp call (reportedly from Supreme Court registrar) for inclusion of two members (one from the State Bank and other from Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan), leak of Hussain Nawaz’s picture facing his interrogators, JIT members’ pressure tactics and question mark over the expertise of the two members of the JIT -- one each from ISI and MI ─ are the reasons enough for the PML-N to go for an agitation against it (JIT),” Punjab government spokesman Malik Ahmed Khan told Dawn on Wednesday. So, obviously there is a "systematic campaign" to malign Nawaz and his family - from these two examples cited above !
“As we already had challenged the inclusion of two members ─ Amer Aziz of SBP and Bilal Rasool of SECP ─ in the SC, we are going to seek an explanation that on what grounds the ISI and MI members have been made part of the JIT. We want to know their expertise,” Mr Khan said and added that the JIT had been constituted under 184 Civil Procedure Code, but it was exceeding its legal mandate. Is this is psychological pressure being exerted,( like Raheel used to do to Ganja ) or are they serious in replacing him with their own man waiting in the wings ( Immy !) is yet to be seen
“Under this law, the JIT can only hold an inquiry, but it is carrying out criminal investigation. Has any FIR been registered (against the Sharif family) that it (JIT) is carrying out a criminal investigation,” he asked.
“Our reservations against the JIT are well-founded and we may go for an agitation against it,” Malik Ahmed Khan warned.Meanwhile, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah expressed similar views when he talked to reporters on Wednesday. “The Sharif family also has the choice of boycotting the JIT. The PML-N workers may come on the roads against the JIT if a decision in this regard is taken by the leadership. I will be the front runner of this campaign,” he said. The threat of goonda-gardi, if NS does not have his way with the so-called JIT, is always there, as this Minister is hinting ![/quote]
On Tuesday the chief minister put his weight behind his elder brother and his children when he spoke against “selective accountability” of the Sharif family and asked the SC to take action against “other looters” as well.“The PML-N voice has got louder after the support of Shahbaz Sharif camp, since the Nawaz camp members have already been raising objections to the JIT working on a daily basis,” a PML-N leader from Punjab said, seeking anonymity. No matter which way you look at it - the whole Sharif clan is corrupt to the core . As one Paki intellectual had remarked "Abbaji's " fortune turned around when he began to steal Lahore Municpal Steel Manhole Covers ( in the dead of night ) to make iron -ore for his foundry business . Nawaz, Shahbaz, (sons) and Hussein (grandson of Abbaji Sr ! )and all else of the clan are no better

Paresh Rawal Squashes "Paki Rumours About Him"

Never said I wanted to work in Pakistani films: Paresh Rawal :D
Don't get excited about Paresh Rawal's Pakistani film debut yet.

The Bollywood actor has spoken up about his recently viral statement, in which he expressed his desire to work in Pakistani films and TV and called Indian TV dramas "boring". He's saying he's been misquoted. According to Bombay Times, he's said, "I never said I want to work in Pakistani films, neither it is my wish. I want to categorically state this. I have been misquoted." He went on to add, "I just said that I liked Pakistan's TV serial Humsafar, but never said ours are boring. I only said ours are a little slow." Oops, looks like Rawal must be feeling the heat of the backlash! We wonder whether he was really misquoted or is being forced to eat his words?
This confirms that "fake news" is very much alive in Pakiland !

PS: Paki Aam Abduls are probably unaware that the comedian is a sitting BJP MP

The enlightened ambassador is absolutely right. 401% right. What is there to laugh about?

The edict of the gobermint of al bakistan only extends from LaWhore to slummabad to parts of K'rachi and Hyderabad and most of the land in between. PoK, KPK, GB, rural Scinde, B'loochistan, el isiswat and the independent tribal areas such as Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Waziristan, etc fall outside the region where baki rules are followed.

K'rachi is half B'loch and pakhtuns. Parts of it resemble blighted kabul. So, for all practical purposes, the tellibunny leader could have been in "afghanistan" or at least so he was told.

Indian Robust Firing Hurting At The LOC

Pakistan warns India against making any strategic miscalculation
Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria Thursday said it appears India is seeking a conflict with Pakistan, reported Radio Pakistan. The spokesperson said Pakistan has always exercised restraint but India's belligerence is a threat to regional peace and security. He said, "India is deliberately escalating tension to divert international community's attention from gross human rights violation in Held Kashmir." Zakaria said, "Pakistan has suffered from Indian state-sponsored terrorism for over five decades." "India is using Afghan soil against Pakistan and is also sabotaging Pak-Afghan relations," he added. The spokesperson called upon the UN Security Council, Members of UN and Human Rights organisations to call India to account for the grave human rights violations and crimes against humanity committed by its forces in Held Kashmir. Just the other day, there were reports in the Paki press that their DGMO "established contact" with his Indian counterpart . And now this message ! The H&D factor probably holds them from admitting that they are "hurting at the border" and hence this rona dhona

Fully agree with your assessment Falijee - I was about to post the same article and make a similar connection - clearly Pakis are being made to hurt and are afraid we're about to take it up another few notches.

I think the video linked by Peregrine ji is an old one: June 4, 2015 (see date on Youtube page), though also of Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry at Atlantic Council. The audience laughing at Chaudhry incident happened just this week. I am sure Pakistan Embassy won't be putting it up on their YT channel... and hopefully Atlantic Council won't edit out the laugh when they post the video on their website

Ganja Sharif Gets His Wish :D

Nawaz, Modi exchange greetings ahead of SCO summit in Astana
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had a brief interaction with his India counterpart Narendra Modi on the sidelines of a meeting of the Heads of State Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Astana.“PM Narendra Modi and Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif exchanged greetings at the Astana Opera today,” reported India media.
Heads of State Council is the highest decision-making body of SCO which meets annually. Pakistan and India have observer status at SCO and will become its full member in Astana. The decision, in principle, to give membership to the two countries was taken by the SCO Heads of States meeting held at Ufa in Russia in 2015.So, this is it ! The chai-biskoot session should now be ruled out !

Mastung OP foils ISIS infrastructure in Pakistan: ISPR
In latest released details of Mastung Operation, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that raid has denied the establishment of any direct or indirect ISIS organizational infrastructure in Balochistan or Pakistan. ( what else; does one expect them to admit this !) the The statement further stated that banned militant organisation Lashrake-Jhangivi Al-Almi (LeJA) hiding was trying to contact ISIS.There was intelligence information that 10-15 terrorists of said organisation were present in caves near Isplingi, 36 Kilometer South East of Mastung, said ISPR.The suicide bomber for attack on JUI-F leader Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri was also sent by this group, added ISPR.So, the Lashrake Jhangivi, a Paki Islami outfit has now gone rogue and switched sides to ISIS ?
The military media wing further said that operation was conducted in area of 10-kilometer and started on morning of June 1 as heliborne force was landed in the area.
The operation continued for three days as militants hidden in network of caves gave tough fight to military forces.According to press release, 12 militants including two suicide bombers were killed during the operation whereas five security officials including two officers got injured. These "words" give a hint that things are not going good for the Paki Fauj . Of course, what this "mouthpiece" (ISPR) says has to be discounted by many percentages and has to be taken with a " pinch of salt "
During the fight, security forces destroyed a LED making factory and recovered heavy cache of arms and weapons including 50 kilograms of explosive material, three suicide jackets, grenades, rocket launchers, sniper rifles, light machine guns and communication sets. COAS General Bajwa praised the efforts of Southern Command, intelligence agencies and soldiers for successful operation. :((
Other press reports have stated that this is the same group ( Al-Almi) has claimed responsibility for the killing of the chinese. !

Terror survivors yet to get compensation
LAHORE: In March 2016 Iqbal Park in Lahore was attacked on Easter evening resulting in the killing of over 80 people and leaving around 300 injured. The Punjab Government compensated the survivors and their families and the Sindh government also announced compensation for them in a show of solidarity. However the compensation did not reach everyone. Some affected received the amount sent by Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah through PPP leader Latif Khosa a few months back; however some are still waiting for this much wanted relief. Firstly, most victims were Christian not Muslims . Secondly, the Pakjab and the Sind Govt announced compensation so as not to be accused of discrimination against minorities . In this case, words speak louder than action. With corruption and what not, some of the victims who got (not 100% of the promised amount ) should be considered lucky!
These stories only highlight the issues faced by the survivors of terrorist attacks in Pakistan. The slow or lack of follow-up by relevant quarters after the attack often gives an opening for vested interests to exploit and undermine the good work undertaken by the various government agencies. Only if you are a Muslim!. Religion in Pakiland is a very, very important determinant factor. Hindu and Christian Cricketers are "encouraged" to convert to Masli to further their career

Agreed, I just spent a few minutes quickly going through the video to figure out where the incident was and I didnt see it.

But man, if you end up seeing videos of Pak diplomats answering questions, you will realize that they have the same stock answers to all questions.

Islamic State says it killed two Chinese teachers kidnapped in Pakistan
Thu Jun 8, 2017 12:04pm EDT
Reuters.

CAIRO/QUETTA, Pakistan (Reuters) - Islamic State has killed two Chinese teachers it kidnapped in Pakistan's southwestern Baluchistan province last month, the militant group's Amaq news agency said on Thursday, in a blow to Islamabad's efforts to safeguard Chinese workers. Armed men pretending to be policemen kidnapped the two language teachers in the provincial capital, Quetta, on May 24. The kidnapping was a rare security incident involving Chinese nationals in Pakistan, where Beijing has pledged $57 billion for its "Belt and Road" plan."Islamic State fighters killed two Chinese people they had been holding in Baluchistan province, southwest Pakistan," Amaq said.
A Baluchistan government spokesman said officials were in the process of confirming "whether the report is true".China's embassy in Pakistan could not be reached and there was no immediate comment from Pakistan's interior ministry or its foreign office.Islamic State, which controls some territory in neighbouring Afghanistan, has struggled to establish a presence in Pakistan. But it has claimed several major attacks, including one on the deputy chairman of the Senate last month in Baluchistan, in which 25 people were killed.Earlier on Thursday, Pakistan's military published details of a three-day raid on an militant hideout in a cave not far from Quetta, saying it had killed 12 "hardcore terrorists" from a banned local Islamist group and prevented Islamic State from gaining a "foothold" in Baluchistan.
China's ambassador to Pakistan and other officials have often urged Islamabad to improve security, especially in Baluchistan, where China is building a new port and funding roads to link its western regions with the Arabian Sea. If confirmed, this is the first Chinese casualties - CPEC related !
