Sindh abominable practice of sexual abuse in the blind dolphin 10-06-2017 Muslim Mirani 0 Views

There are four types of dolphins in the world. A blind dolphins that are found only in the Indus River. Known locally blhn the fish. Genetically it is not blind but mchly years the river water and soil pollution is increasing, according to the reason for her being blind.

Indus dolphin fish is not disabled. Experts say Eye Blind blhn day and can distinguish between night and the swimming and dates back echo which removes fish voice for the route information to that which he received on his forehead, naturally. It runs out of ways to visually recognize and Dolphin things.

The blind dolphins are being subjected to sexual violence for many years. Many wild animals are prey to their lust them harmless fish. The gender of the human population delicate msahht shy blhn fish on river's edge and make it a victim of sexual abuse.

River's Edge in most of the sailors and other people, are not there to shepherd enslaved the innocent fish. Local people know the kind of abuse against this evil act, but until now no one raised voice.

This is a blind dolphins exists constantly being Americans. The raw area would include toxic chemicals toxic to water down the Indus to use fertilizers and pesticides for agriculture, which causes the blind dolphin mortality.

Count the Indus dolphin is the rare fish found in Pakistan. They stuck to the Indus dolphin is often due to the narrow path where the rivers flowing from the river. The rare fish in the river for the last several years it has often been found dead in most canals.

Guess I found the actual number of rare breed of fish in the river is currently difficult, but the number of conservative estimates of the provincial organization for wildlife protection is almost 700 to 800 Guddu and Sukkur Barrage and to move between.

Experts say that if timely steps are not taken fish will be completely extinct.

According to a local research I found the blind Indus dolphin is finished quickly because the victim in different ways. Whether we have to raise our voices against sexual abuse with the Indus dolphin and play a positive role in their ethnic and launched a campaign of rape and international organizations to prevent sexual abuse their mhsum dolphin so as to prevent the oppression with their blind dolphins.

Capital suggestion: Venezuela’s debt

From 2007 to 2014, China lent Venezuela a wholesome $63 billion. A decade ago, Venezuela’s Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) – the Venezuelan state-owned oil and gas company – entered into an oil-for-loans deal with China’s state-run China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

Under the agreement, Venezuela borrowed the amount from China and “agreed to pay back in crude and fuel deliveries to state-run Chinese firms”.

Lo and behold, in 2014, the decade-long oil boom ended. According to the Foreign Policy magazine, “With most lending agreed to when oil hovered at more than $100 a barrel, as it did for most of 2007-2014, it seemed a good deal for both sides. However, when oil dropped to close to $30 a barrel in January 2016, this caused Venezuela’s price tag for serving its debt to explode. To repay Beijing today, Venezuela must now ship two barrels of oil for every one it originally agreed to”.

According to Reuters: “At the end of January 2017, [the] PDVSA was late on nearly 10 million barrels of refined products…with shipments delayed by as much as 10 months. It also failed to make timely deliveries of another 3.2 million barrels of crude shipments to CNPC”. The report added: “Because oil accounts for almost all of Venezuela’s export revenue, PDVSA’s crisis extends to a citizenry suffering through triple-digit inflation and food shortages reminiscent of the waning days of the Soviet Union”.

According to CNBC, the satellite business news television: “PDVSA clearly does not have enough oil or money to satisfy its many creditors. At this point, everybody is trying to collect pending debts from PDVSA by receiving cargoes. But production is not enough”.

Foreign Policy further opines: “Large-scale lending projects without a focus on their economic viability and the repayment capacity of the borrowers are hardly the soundest basis for financial diplomacy of the sort China is attempting to practice. At best, it will lead to mutual suspicions and tensions between lender and borrower. At worst, it will prove financially ruinous for countries burdened with debts they cannot repay in foreign currency they do not possess. With oil prices down, the country is unable even to repair rigs or pay workers to generate income, and the government now faces the prospect of a mass uprising. But Venezuela’s ruinous state has more to do with China than one might think”.

Kevin Daly, an emerging market debt specialist, told the Financial Times, “The backdrop suggests we are moving closer to a credit event. The [Venezuelan] government is becoming more dysfunctional, the protests are becoming more fevered and it does feel like there could be splits in the government and military”.

Ricardo Hausmann, Venezuela’s former planning minister and current Harvard University professor, has called Venezuela’s debt “hunger bonds”. He has alleged that the current government is “siphoning money away from food imports to meet interest and principal payments on country’s…external debt”.

According to Al Jazeera, “Venezuela’s capital, Caracas, has seen almost daily demonstrations in recent weeks, some of which have turned violent. The country is in the middle of a crippling economic crisis that has led to high food prices and a lack of basic goods”.

Lo and behold, “Venezuela’s bonds are [now] the highest-yielding of any emerging market security due to concerns about default”. Foreign Policy concludes that “Venezuela’s road to disaster is littered with Chinese cash”.

I compared PA Chief visit PR photos to IA and I noticed an interesting difference. IA Chiefs photos generally seems to be indicate he is "on his way for a task" and generally have soldiers around in combat ready mode. There seems to be air of authority around him.

Where as PA chiefs regularly have group of PA soldiers being addressed and rarely see a combat group around him.

This "addressing a group" seems be taken from the Americans. There are tons of photos of important people addressing group of American soldiers in Afghanistan.

The Paki obsession to be American shows in the uniform as well. For a region with thick green vegetation they have men wearing brown fatigues, similar to what Americans have in Afghanistan. The Pakis stick like a sore thumb in a green background.

The Venezuelans have/had oil as a bargaining chip; what do the Pakis have that will satisfy the Chini blothers- the "exploding" population that they won't be able to export ; long -term lease and exploitation of Balochi land and resources , could be one ! export of food products to China ; IMO, they will be beholden to the Chinese for a very, very long time - a virtual colony . How the Islam Brigade will react to the loss this sover-virginity is another interesting question

FO rubbishes reports of Pakistani troop deployment in Qatar

One more example that the Pakistani Ship Of State is radarless ,rudderless and direction- less. And just re-acting from one domestic and foreign crisis to the other. The Prime Minister ( as everyone knows!) is incompetent and not up to the job ( Riyadh and Astana were two recent examples, where he was ignored !). He has become a rich source of "raw material " for the the domestic and foreign media , which ridicules him . Why a country like Pakiland does not have a Full Time Foreign Minister , I cannot figure it out. Important decisions are made without taking the so-called National Assembly into confidence (e.g. CPEC detail agreement not discussed in Assembly ) . Also the Sharif Clan is presently fully occupied in "defending" its loot in front of the so-called JIT . Interesting times ahead !

Qadri The "Canadian Shopping Mall" Maulvi Returns To Pakiland To "Smell A Ganja Conspiracy " Into The So-Called JIT Probe.

Panama Papers JIT serving as PML-N's 'election cell', Qadri claims
Prominent cleric and head of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Tahirul Qadri, in his return to Pakistan on Sunday, alleged that the joint investigation team (JIT) probing allegations of money laundering against the Sharif family is working as an 'election cell' for the ruling PML-N.
He has been living in Canada since 2005 where he also acquired Canadian citizenship. ( to collect "welfare", and preaching Malsi "part-time" in Toronto Shopping Malls in the summer ) Dr Qadri has said he can more effectively manage his international network from the North American country. He is only one of many Paki Politicos ( like Rehman Malik and Ch. Nisar ) who have "purchased" insurance in the form of foreign passports just in case... .

Two policemen killed in Quetta checkpost shooting
Two policemen were killed and one wounded in a gun attack on a checkpost in Quetta's Saryab Road area on Sunday, police sources told DawnNews
Balochistan has experienced incident violence and targeted killings for over a decade.
This is the latest "incident". A few weeks ago, a young Chinese couple were kidnapped and later were killed by ISIS. The Afghan Taliban, of course, have the HQ of their Quetta Shura here. The Pakistanis, of course, deny that there is such an "animal"

Female Molestion Is Very Much Alive And Thriving In The Islamic Republic Of Pakistan .

Local clothing store Zeen employee said to be fired after molestation incident goes viral
After a woman shared her experience of molestation by an employee of local clothing store Zeen yesterday, social media uproar has resulted in the offender being fired. But is that enough punishment for the molester's crime? The woman anonymously recounted her story on Facebook page Girls At Dhabas. Paki Ayeshas effectively making use of "social media" !
Of the incident, she said that "I was standing with my mother, busy checking out a dress when I felt a hand touch my butt/thigh very firmly, the kind of touch you can't mistake for an accident. I immediately turned around and shouted at the man standing there-- who turned out to be one of the staffers! "Dekh ke chalo, kya kar rahay ho?" [Watch where you're going, what do you think you are doing?], to which he said: "Galti se lag gaya" [It happened by accident The antics of the sex starved Abduls of Pakiland !]."
"I managed to get out the employee's name -- Najeeb (assuming that is his real name) and learned that he was fasting (!), ( So, "Ramzan" is no guarantee of "good behaviour" ) but aside from that, even though the rest of the staff gathered around us and learned what had happened, no one was willing to give out any information about him, or help us report him to the manager."
"Where my mother and I were expecting the store's staff to be horrified by what had happened, and to assure us that some sort of accountability would be held, they reacted in quite the opposite manner: ...this is Pakistan, where under Sharia, a women's word is half that of a man !
"When my mother wondered out loud how many girls Najeeb might have harassed before, one of the female staff members answered back with a smile: "Nahi jee, yeh pehli dafa hua hai." [No, this has happened for the first time.] An employee is supposed to show "loyalty" towards her employer !
"This woman, along with the rest of the staff, continued protecting Najeeb and his personal information, despite our persistent demands. We were not even able to learn his full name. Towards they end they had the gall to say: "Ab woh admit kar raha hai ke uss ne kiya tha, toh bass rehne dayn! Hum khud hi kar leyn ge." [Now he's admitting he [made a mistake], so why don't you leave it at that. We will deal with him ourselves]
"Zeen should take immediate action and fire that employee -- no space should tolerate any kind of harassment to the people who occupy it, especially one which claims to be for women."Zeen's management responded to their customer's complaint via the comments section of this Facebook post.
The incident reinforces the importance of speaking up against harassment and abuse. But it also highlights the need for a more robust justice system that provides easily accessible options and that inspires the confidence of the public. Social media should not be the go-to platform for people to seek justice for crimes committed against them. Pakistani Abduls and Ayeshas should "enjoy" the power of the Social Media as long as it lasts. Once the Chini Internet and Satellite Systems comes to Pakistan, there will be "social media" Chini- Style - no more Facebook, Twitter, Google etc . So enjoy, while it lasts !!!

These uniforms were likely stolen from the consignments meant for troops in afghanistan in transit from k'rachi. Much of this stolen material is also sold in the black market as a means to raise revenue.

"Damage Control" And Fighting Multiple Fires" Keeping Paki F.O. Spokesman , Zakaria Very Busy

FO spokesperson turns down Indian reports on Nawaz-Xi meeting
Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria has rejected Indian media's propaganda about skipping of Chinese President’s meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.Zakria clarified that PM Nawaz Sharif met with Chinese President twice at the sideline of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.Earlier, Indian media propagated that Chinese President Xi Jinping skipped a customary meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Astana after the murder of two Chinese teachers in Balochistan. And on top of that, in the same briefing, he ended up as "rubbish" - the report that Paki troops are on their way to Qatar !
Zakaria dubbed Indian propaganda baseless and clarified that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met Chinese President Xi Jinping twice at the sideline of SCO summit. Matters of mutual interests, bilateral, regional and international affairs came under discussion in the meeting, said the sources. To give "some credit" to him, at least he did not deny that Chinese President's meeting with Modi-ji , wherein the movie "Dangal" came up for discussion  !

Two More Teenagers , Sexually Molested And Killed During "Holy Ramzan" In Islamic Pakistan.

More kids found molested, strangled in fields.
SIALKOT-The dead bodies of two more molested children were found from the local fields in village Saahowala, Sambrial tehsil here on Saturday.
Police said that some unknown criminals strangulated the minor boys after molesting them. Earlier, Hamza Arshad (6) and Zeeshan Haider (8) went missing from their houses two days. The incident panicked the local people. Local police took dead bodies into custody and shifted them to Sambrial THQ Civil Hospital for autopsy. The molestation incidents against children are rising in Sialkot district here. At least, six minor children including these two boys have been molested while two were killed after the crime in Sialkot district in separate incidents during the last five days. A 10-year-old deaf child was molested by accused Shabir in Sialkot city’s congested New Hamza Ghaus locality here on Wednesday.Law enforcers’ callousness knows no bounds ! Telling comment by a Paki reader !
According to the FIR lodged at Naikapura police station under section 377 PPC by Tariq, the father of the victim, accused Shabir took Ahmed Raza to a nearby Dera where he sexually abused the child. The accused fled away, when some people gathered there after listening to the victim’s hue and cry. The victim was admitted to Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital Sialkot in critical condition. Police are investigating with no arrest so far. Paki police should set up an unit dealing exclusively with sex - related crimes, which are on the increase - in Islamic Pakistan !

demands-400pc-increase[/b] :!: -in-hydropower-profit]Khyber Pakhtunkhwa demands 400pc increase in hydropower profit
ISLAMABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Thursday demanded a 400 per cent increase in its hydropower profit to Rs5.38 per unit that could proportionately add to the consumer tariff.KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, along with a group of provincial assembly members, asserted before the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) that the regulator was legally bound to allow an increase in the net hydel profit (NHP) to Rs5.38 per unit from existing Rs1.10 per unit without any delay to yield Rs70-80 billion additional revenue to his province.
“This is a vicious cycle against consumers and a double dip,” said Barrister Asghar Khan, a pro bono lawyer, while speaking for voiceless ( and powerless !) consumers. He said there could be neither backward calculations for the NHP on the basis of electricity tariff nor retrospective charges for inefficiency, wrongdoing or any such cost to consumers.Between the tussle of different levels of the Paki Gober-ment, to appropriate scarce financial resources, the Paki consumer of essential services ( be it power, gas, water ) is being squeezed left and right like a "ripe mango"

"Patroitic Pakis" Fear That Raheel, The "So-Called Professional Soldier Will Be "Used" By The Saudis Against Iran ( When they "finish using him" in Yemen !)

Saudi-led alliance: Decision time for Pakistan
Sartaj Aziz, the Prime Minister’s advisor on Foreign Affairs, recently told the Senate that although retired Army chief, General Raheel Sharif, is heading the 41-nation Islamic Military Alliaprnce to Fight Terrorism, no Terms of Reference or mechanism have been developed for the coalition as yet. He also said that the Pakistan army will not be deployed outside Saudi Arabia and the impression that the alliance will attack Iran is misplaced.Unfortunately, Aziz forgot, or choose not to mention what Saudi Arabia’s King Shah Salman and the American President Donald Trump said last month at the US-Arab-Islamic Summit. Trump accused Iran of “fuelling the fires of sectarian conflict and terror.” Further adding that until Iran is willing to “be a partner for peace, all nations of conscience must work together to isolate it.” King Salman, on the other hand, called the rival country the “spearhead of global terrorism.”
In the light of these statements, Aziz’s remarks on the Senate floor look comically clueless. As usual, Senile Sartaj is just blowing hot air . Ganja Sharif was ignored and sidelined by Salman and POTUS. Contrary to earlier speculations, the alliance is clearly Anti- Iran !
The most important leaders at the summit, were the two mentioned above. Hence, their words carry a lot of weightage. The focal point at the summit was Iran. Ganja Sharif , who was practicing his speech on the plane ( according to Western Media ) was disappointed at with the snub by POTUS and Salman. But not to worry, he can recycle the "document" at a similar Ummah meet
It seems, from the words chosen by Trump that America has a single, focused intention for the Alliance. Not only does American want Saudi Arabia to further isolate Iran, but also it wants other countries to end all form of ties with it. Here is the conundrum we are finding ourselves in. If, God forbid, the alliance chooses to engage in conventional warfare with Iran, where will we be standing? How will our soldiers, stationed in Saudi Arabia react? Will Gen. Sharif’s nationality be a bone of contention? After all, the orders for action will have to come directly from the commander. Aziz insists that Pakistan has a balanced and peaceful regional policy. If Iran considers the Islamic Military Alliance a threat, and a Pakistani army officer leads that alliance, how can the region remain peaceful? Patriotic Pakis like this writer ( Mr. Ansari ) have a point. This poses a moral dilemma for this Pakjabi, Raheel. Should he stay on and be a " ghulam" to the Saudis for his one -million dollar plus "job" or should he, on matter of principle, quit the job and return back to Pakistan to tend his new "farm fields" near La-Whore that were gifted to him by the Paki Fauj on retirement . My bet, he will stick on . Why let go of one million plus
Pakistan should take a good hard look at what is happening around it. It should be wary of what may come next. In the Muslim region, Iran is a powerful country. Just like Iraq was accused of harboring WMDs, Iran is similarly being blamed without proof of promoting terrorism and sectarianism. If Iran is attacked on the basis of this unfounded allegation, then a very dangerous crisis of sectarianism is about to unfold. That said General Raheel Sharif is a professional soldier and an able commander. He has experience of defeating terrorism. I am confident, and hopeful, that he will avoid all such ill-informed plans.
IMO, this Muslim NATO assignment was sort of a private deal between Ganja and the Bad Sharif . Ganja used his "influence" with the Saudi Establishment to get Raheel this lucrative job, so Raheel is out of Paki politics ( at least for a while !) and not harass Ganja !

Dus Percenti Will Be Out Of Action For A While Due To "Ill Health"

Ailing Zardari likely to stay abroad until Eid
KARACHI: Former president Asif Ali Zardari is likely to stay abroad for a long period of time due to his ill health. According to PPP sources, the former president is diabetic and heart patient therefore, his stay abroad is likely to be prolonged. If his health improves then he will return to Pakistan after Eidul Fitr with the consultation of doctors. Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is overseeing the party issues in absence of Asif Zardari.
What about the depression from which he was suffering . And for which he was spending "big bucks" at a clinic in NYC, a few years ago. Has he been cured of that disease

PS: Or is this a big pretext for some ( much deserved ) R&R in the cooler climes of Europe and Massaland.

So-Called JIT Flexing Its So-Called Muscle. Summons Ganja Sharif To Appear On June 15, 2017.
LAHORE – The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has summoned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to appear on Thursday (June 15, 2017), sources in the PM Office said here on Sunday. Is not Sunday an official day off in the Islam Republic Of Pakistan . Is the JIT raking up overtime . ? The PM just returned from his trip abroad and now he has been delivered this "good" news
Sources from the PM office say that the Prime Minister will appear before the JIT, respecting the law of the country – unlike Parvez Musharraf who could not face the law.
Sources within the government said that the summons was issued to the PM on Saturday after he returned from his international trip to Kazakhstan, where he had been attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. What about the "sanctity of Ramzan" . Could not the JIT have waited until the "Holy Month" is over. And if he is kept cooling his heels in a separate room, like "Junior Nawaz", hope PTI supporters will not release his picture on Social Media
Sharif, who is currently in Lahore, met with his close confidantes on Sunday morning to discuss the issue. After consulting with his aides, the prime minister has decided to honour the summons and appear before the JIT on Thursday. If, he appears as promises, it will be a Big, Big, Event for Paki Media! ( like POTUS appearing before Special Counsel !)
Hussain recently petitioned the Supreme Court against the JIT after a picture of him during the interrogation was leaked in the media. He pleaded the court to bar the JIT from recording its proceedings." The bae-izaati and the Echendee factor !.At an earlier hearing, the bench had directed the head of the JIT, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Additional Director Wajid Zia, to submit in writing the hurdles being faced by the JIT after Zia mentioned them at the hearing.

13 Terrorists Killed In Jammu And Kashmir As Infiltration Attempts Rise
According to army, 22 infiltration attempts have been foiled this year and 40 terrorists were killed near the Line of Control.
SRINAGAR: Thirteen terrorists trying to infiltrate into India from across Line of Control have been killed as infiltration attempts witnessed a dramatic rise since Thursday. The army said multiple infiltration attempts have been foiled near the Line of Control in Machil, Nougam, Uri and Gurez sectors in Jammu and Kashmir.
Infiltration attempts typically increase as the snow melts in the high passes of Himalayas. This year, Pakistan has also pushed up firing from across the border, which provides cover fire to terrorists attempting to infiltrate into India.
One terrorist was killed in Gurez sector yesterday, five heavily armed terrorists were killed in Uri sector on Friday. On Thursday, three terrorists were killed in Nougam sector, where a soldier was also killed in the gunbattle. The army said the infiltration was backed by heavy firing from the Pakistani army.
"They fired artillery and mortar shells and resorted to heavy firing with automatic weapons. This was an attempt to aid infiltration of terrorists in the sector," said Brigadier Neeraj Soni. The army, he said, responded immediately and foiled the infiltration bid of terrorists.
According to army, 22 infiltration attempts have been foiled this year and 40 terrorists were killed near the Line of Control. The relentless operations, the army said, have defeated desperate attempts from Pakistan to spread terror in the state during the holy month Ramzan.

In a 'goodwill gesture', India to release 11 Pakistani civil prisoners today

Days after PM Narendra Modi's casual meeting with his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif, India will on Monday release 11 civil prisoners in what officials described as a 'goodwill gesture'.

Pakistan had sought the release of these prisoners as they had all served their sentence. This is the first such gesture from Indian authorities since alleged Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav was served death sentence by a Pakistan military court in April this year.

The release is significant as it also comes days after Modi's "exchange of greetings" with Sharif in Astana on the margins of the SCO summit. According to official sources, since it was the first occasion when the 2 leaders came across each other after Sharif's operation, PM enquired about his health. He also enquired about Sharif's mother and family.

Only last week India had released 2 kids, Ali Reza (11) and Babar (10),? who had "accidentally" crossed the international border in Punjab along with their uncle Mohammed Shahzad who continues to be in India's custody. The kids were to be released in April but Indian authorities had put it on hold after Pakistan announced the death sentence to Jadhav.

Indian officials said the release of prisoners was a humanitarian issue and should not be linked with further downturn in ties over Jadhav. The government hopes that Islamabad too will facilitate the release of Indian prisoners lodged in Pakistani jails.

According to the government, there are 132 Indian prisoners in Pakistani jails, out of which 57 have already served their jail term. Pakistan says that India has to confirm their nationality before it releases them.

The release of Pakistan prisoners comes in the middle of what might turn out to be lengthy legal tussle at the ICJ over India's petition for Jadhav's acquittal. India successfully got a stay on Jadhav's death sentence but Pakistan has said that arguments on the merits of the case will only begin now. It has sought an expedited timetable from the Court for an early "substantive" hearing of the case.

A senior journalist of a local newspaper has been killed by unknown assailants in the Haripur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, police told Dawn.Baksheesh Allai ─ the bureau chief of The K2 Times ─ was on his way home when motorcyclists intercepted him on a main road and spread him with bullets, successfully fleeing the scene in its aftermath.Baksheesh Allai ─ Source: victim's family.“We see this murder of a local journalist as an act of a high profile target killing and the assailants will soon be arrested,” Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari the district police office Haripur told reporters.
The district police officer Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari held talks with protesting journalists and convinced them to end the protest.“I assure you that we will arrest his [Allai's] killers without wasting any time as we are considering this is a high profile case of target killing,” said Bukhari.Chaudhry asserted that the journalists’ fraternity across the Hazara region would observe protests and take out rallies to condemn the cold-blooded murder of their colleague on Monday." Deep State" hand cannot be ruled out ! Pakistan is one of the most dangerous place for journalists. This is the latest example . The Govt wants to "tame" social media using the pretext of "blasphemy", "insult to Fauj" , national security," insult to Malsi"blah, blah, blah !

X Posted on the OBOR, Chinese Strategy and Implications & Analyzing CEPC Threads

After OBOR gets ready, Pakistan will become China’s colony: S Akbar Zaidi

NEW DELHI: Pakistan will become a colony of China once the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) -- flagship project under the One Belt One Road (OBOR) initiative is operationalised, contended top Pak political economist S Akbar Zaidi on the very day the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit praised Beijing’s mega connectivity plan.

In a lecture titled “Has China taken over Pakistan” organised in Kolkata by think tank ‘Calcutta Research Group’ on Friday night Zaidi noted that the CPEC initiative is the most discussed but the least transparent among all the foreign initiatives in Pakistan.

“It is indeed a game changer, but not in the way our ruling classes have projected it to be. It will enslave Pakistan and undermine its sovereignty,” alleged Zaidi author of pioneering books --‘Military Civil Society and democratisation in Pakistan’ and ‘Issues in Pakistan’s Economy’.

“CPEC is a part of China’s OBOR initiative to expand its influence in the world and Pakistan is just the geographical space used by Beijing to reach the warm waters of the Persian Gulf. But in the process, Beijing blueprint will ensure complete control over Pakistan,” Zaidi further alleged.

Incidentally Zaidi’s comments came on the very day when SCO praised China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). India, which went to the Summit as an observer and became a member, however, was not party to the final Summit document on this occasion. CPEC is the very project that has irked India as it passes through PoK besides the fact that OBOR or BRI initiative lacks transparency and is being implemented in a unilateral fashion.

Speaking at SCO Summit PM Narendra Modi took a dig at connectivity projects that infringes on sovereignty. Zaidi quoted Pak Senator Tahir Mashhadi, chairman of the standing committee on planning and development, who had described the CPEC corridor as the advent of “another East India Company is in the offing.” China has announced to invest whopping $ 62 bn in CPEC.

The most dangerous implication of the CPEC would be that Pakistan’s foreign relations, especially those with India, will be determined by the Chinese, the Pak scholar warned. “Pakistan’s obsession with China and CPEC will prevent any rapprochement between India and Pakistan unless the Chinese themselves initiate such a process and that they would do only if that fits into their grand design in the region. With China taking over Pakistan, providing it with undisclosed amount of investments, any any argument of increasing trade and economic cooperation between India and Pakistan lose out completely.” Zaidi blamed the Pakistani ruling elite for leading the country down the path of enslavement.

“Our ruling classes, especially the military, have first lived with the influence of US imperialism, then allowed unusual degree of Saudi intrusion in domestic, cultural and social affairs. Now they have prostrated themselves before Chinese imperial designs.”

After abductions, Pakistan scrambles to protect Chinese citizens

Reuters
Chastened by the militant Islamic State group's claim to have killed two kidnapped Chinese teachers, Pakistan is beefing up security around Chinese citizens streaming into the country on the back of Beijing's "Belt and Road" infrastructure splurge.
China has often urged Pakistan to improve security after pledging around $57 billion to build power plants, railways, and roads that will cross the Himalayas to connect western China with Gwadar port. Pakistani officials have outlined to Reuters extensive security plans that include thousands-strong police protection forces, tighter monitoring of Chinese nationals, and in Balochistan ─ where the two teachers were kidnapped on May 24 ─ a review of security arrangements.
Reuters may be convinced, but the Chinese are apparently not
The protection forces will buttress a 15,000-strong army division set up specifically to safeguard projects in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative, which has been credited with rejuvenating Pakistan's $300 billion economy. "We are already alert, but this incident has made us extra vigilant over Chinese security," said Sindh Deputy Inspector General of Police Amin Yousafzai. The provincial government in Sindh, which is home to about 50 million people, is raising a protection unit of about 2,600 police officers to help safeguard 4,000 Chinese working on CPEC projects, and another 1,000 working in other businesses. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), which signed billions of dollars in contracts with Chinese companies, is also conducting a census of Chinese nationals and raising a force of about 4,200 officers to protect foreigners.Balochistan would "review the whole security arrangement" and Chinese nationals who come in a private capacity should inform the authorities about their activities, said the provincial government spokesman Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar. This is more like a "damage control" exercise ( in the wake of the killing of the two Chinese !) for the benefit of foreign journos and /or foreign news agencies !
he two Chinese-language teachers were kidnapped by gunmen pretending to be police, but little else is known about how the they ended up in Quetta. The Balochistan government afterwards evacuated 11 other Chinese nationals based in the city. "There are no more Chinese living in Quetta," said Balochistan IGP Ahsan Mehboob. It was not clear why the 11 were there.[/b] So, they do not know whether they were there, with or without permission. So much for the competency ! The new Sindh and KP forces resemble the Special Protection Unit (SPU) recently established by Punjab, which has attracted most Chinese investment. KP was already working on plans to set up the force, but after the Quetta kidnappings the process was "accelerated", according to one regional official.Sindh was also planning to set up a force before the Quetta attack, and was now expanding it, another official said.
Punjab's SPU, dedicated to protecting Chinese nationals and other foreigners, has more than 6,000 officers and is set to grow to 10,000.Punjab Secretary for Information Raja Jahangir said SPU chiefs hold daily meetings with intelligence agencies and police chiefs to ensure Chinese nationals stay safe, while a database has been set up to track foreigners from their arrival, to their hotels, and their departure.Jahangir said security has been stepped up since the Quetta attacks. "Almost all personnel are on alert and they are on their toes," he said. IMO, I do not think that the Chinese are going to be impressed by these measures - apparently on" paper onlee" and may, behind the scenes, may be using the "stick option" . It may well be that in the future, they might send their own Chini personnel to protect their own

SSridhar wrote:Yes, certainly looks like that. They seem nervous, insecure and resigned to their fate. Looks like the visit of the COAS did not bring them any cheer at all. Nothing brings these out more starkly than the downcast face of the Lt. Gen. standing next to Bajwa.
I am surprised that ISPR- who must have vetted the photos to be made public- allowed this pic to be released publicly. Usually their photos are all geared up for propaganda and building a larger than life image of whoever, the COAS is. Raheel's photo releases usually seemed to be that way, in contrast, Bajwa's have been rather tepid so to speak.

Putting on my tinfoil hat, maybe there are things between Bajwa and some elements of the fauj.

Or perhaps I am just overthinking it, trying to find a pattern that doesn't exist.

Either they failed to spot the obvious or they do not think this makes them look nervous and insecure or they really don't care, since the Pakistani public will lap up anything they churn out.

A boxed-in Sharif

While he spoke of peace at the Heads of the State Council of the SCO summit in Astana, Kazakhstan, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has little of that at home. Domestically, he has entered a tricky, winding and narrow alley. Serious question marks hang over his political future as circumstances call on him to make decisive judgement calls.

Whether he collapses or copes depends on a mix of factors, including the motivation level of his opponents – both political and non-political – the strength of loyalties within his camp and his personal choices.

The Joint Investigation Team has put all its cards on the table. They, or at least some of them, will proceed with investigations, coupled with calculated media leaks (not just the picture but news leaks as well). They will reinforce their public image of a tough cop holding the prime minister and his family by the scruff of the neck. By making light of the matter of the leak of Hussain Nawaz’s photo, the Supreme Court bench has made it clear that it sees no grave travesty of justice in this breach.

This creates a straitjacket for the prime minister that he cannot cast off without opting out of the investigation process. Even while his ministers and aides have, with considerable aplomb, spread a cloud of controversy over the JIT, the fact remains that as long as the prime minister is committed to the process, he has to abide by the rules of the game – which the JIT controls and the Supreme Court bench endorses. This puts him in two boats that are sailing in opposite directions – one of backing the JIT investigation and the other loaded with his suspicion and growing distrust of the whole process.

This simultaneous ride cannot continue for long. Soon he will have to choose one. If the JIT is to call him to the same investigation room where his son sat, across a cold distance from the seats of investigators, his decision to comply with the summons will be one of the hardest he has taken in his career. There are no guarantees that his videos will not be released, now or later.

The public discussion on Hussain Nawaz’s video grab leak has nailed it partly correctly: it was an attempt to let the media ridicule rain on Nawaz Sharif’s family. But a more important objective has not drawn much attention: it was a feeler, a signal of how the public side of the trial can be turned into a nerve gas attack against the prime minister himself. A repeat of the monkey business of breaking (fake) news that he was talked down by JIT members, can cause his public image to take a nose-dive.

What’s more, the image of him being under siege will be reinforced within his own camp. Government dysfunctionality might go a few notches up. There will be increased fence-sitting by the bureaucracy and other institutions as most will wonder whether it’s wise to comply with the orders of a prime minister teetering on the brink of disappearance.

Opting out of the investigation process is an option, yes, but its costs far outweigh the benefits. The Supreme Court can simply knock him out of office on contempt. Also a no-go strategy would be used by his opponents as the ultimate proof of his culpability. Under the circumstances, his best bet seems to be to continue to cast the JIT in partisan colours and position himself in a way that could allow him to demand a hiatus in the proceedings of the JIT till his doubts are removed. In case he is summoned he could also use some prime ministerial privilege (security, for instance) to either change the location of the JIT investigation or make sure that the Q&A room has the presence of his office and not just of his person.

But all of this only buys him some time off the dial of a clock that is ticking fast – less than a month to go. How much store does the JIT set by his son’s testimonies and documents, and what sort of report they file in the end is in their hands. Or if the Sharif camp assessments are to be taken seriously, in the hands of the JIT handlers. An adverse report that can form the basis of criminal case proceedings will take away the last argument in support of him staying in office. He will have to resign.

What does he do to deal with that possibility of being designated as a money launderer, tax evader, or a liar by a JIT that is now in gun-blazing mood?

There aren’t many cards left in his hand. Traditionally, when politicians in power get into nasty situations they pay homage to the GHQ and dial for help. In the case of the prime minister, the hotline has gone cold already. Nawaz Sharif knows that seeing the back of him will cause the army no agony. At any rate, the Sharif camp itself feels deeply aggrieved – first over the infamous tweet, and now the picture leak whose ultimate answer can only be provided by those who keep the video record (and that is not the civilian authority).

Within the Sharif camp, the ready-to-resign and tell-it-all group has considerable following. Nawaz Sharif himself is inclined that way, even though he does not openly encourage them. Any gesture that smacks of snivelling subservience for political survival is a big no for Sharif loyalists. With the courts already positioned (mafia mantra) and the opposition smacking their lips in anticipation of the Sharif political blood being drawn, the prime minister can turn towards his core group – no?

There lies his inner challenge. It is a divided house. There is little trust between him and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, whose actions have been an enigma wrapped in layers of mysteries. Which side is he on? It is hard to tell, even though everyone tells everyone in the Sharif camp – with eyes rolling – that he remains a loyalist to his own cause.

The younger brother, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his family, is there for him – but just about. The most amazing side of the entire charge of the opposition is how the Sharif family is essentially reduced to Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz. Shahbaz Sharif and his sons, whose business are thriving in the heart of Pakistan, remain distant targets that get a dart or two every now and then but have largely remained unhurt in the last four years of bruising battles in Islamabad.

In case Nawaz Sharif is cannibalised politically, the two parts that will survive are Shahbaz Sharif and Chaudhry Nisar, which sets both of them up nicely in national politics in years to come.

What does he do then? The only reliable partner Nawaz Sharif has in this melodrama of his fifth year in power is one that he has treated with utter disregard all this time: the party and its cadres. Here Nawaz Sharif’s name is the only currency that counts (even though one wonders why, considering how the party has been treated since the 2013 elections). He and no one else matters to the MNAs, MPs and Union Council heads. He is to the PML-N what Imran Khan is to the PTI. Can he reconnect with his party, bypassing all the interlocutors that he has outsourced his party to?

His record in this regard is abysmal. He has spurts of enthusiasm and love for the party under duress before relapsing into disinterest. That is partly because he is in a been-there-done-that mood and imagines himself to be above the dust and heat of handling party affairs. He wants to be known as a statesman and not as a politician only.

Yet, as the walls close in on him, the only barrier that he can place between them is not his stature but his party. His politics is what has elevated him this high; his politics is what can hold him as he speeds towards the ground. Can he send an SOS to his party workers on his own? Can he go for early elections after that call? We will soon find out. For now, all we see is a Nawaz Sharif who is boxed in – who complains a lot about his challenges but is unwilling to do anything out of the box to meet them.
