'London more united than ever' after Buckingham Palace terror attack, Sadiq Khan says
A 26-year-old man from Luton is being quizzed by counter-terror police over the attack which left three officers injured.

The man swerved at a police van in a blue Toyota Prius in a restricted area of the Mall just after 8.30pm on Friday.

Unarmed officers approached the car and were injured as they tackled the young man when he reached for his weapon yelling "Allahu Akbar", Scotland Yard said.

He was sprayed with CS gas and is being held under the Terrorism Act, a spokesman added.

Why should we care how India is portrayed in foreign media in foreign countries which even includes so called allies. It clearly shows that they know nothing about India's progress and that to me is a blessing in disguise as lesser we are known to outside world the better. I don't care less about this reports as I see them as burnol effect. Trying to heal the burn somewhere :(( :(( !!

It is better than projecting the rise of superpower causing fear among people. I see rise of India as a soft super power and one that has positive effect on world stability.

As for respect, the people who has power does know how to respect India and that is what matters, froth on waves looks numerous but holds no real power, journalist are like froths, engineers holds power in any super power nation where it matters..I see India as engineering powerhouse in 2 decades.

So take a chip pill and no need to increase temperature of blood where it does not matter!! Golden mantra of 21 century - Hyenas no matter how many in number and wherever they bark, elephant don't change the course!!..

UK has totally lost it.

A five-year-old Christian girl in London has, reportedly, been put in the care of two different Muslim foster families in the last six months against the girl’s family’s wishes, The Times reported.

Citing a confidential local authority report, The Times claims that the child, who only speaks English, was encouraged to learn Arabic by one of the families she was under care of and begged social services to not send her back as they “do not speak English”.

The child, at times “very distressed”, claimed that one foster carer removed her necklace which had a Christian cross. She was also not allowed to eat the food given by her mother as it contained ‘haram’ ingredients.

First of all - Adoption is banned in Islam and then they do this.

http://www.islamhelpline.net/node/7384
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzaab verses 4-5:
Allah has not made your adopted sons your real sons. These are the things which you utter from your mouths, but Allah says what is based on reality; and He Alone guides to the Right Way. Call your adopted sons after their fathers names; this is more just in the sight of Allah. And if you do not know who their fathers are, then they are your brothers in faith and your friends. There is no blame on you if you say something unintentionally; but you will surely be to blame for what you say with the intention of your hearts. Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
This is more charitable interpretation from a Liberal Islamic website.

Religious groups defend MP Sarah Champion over grooming claim

"A number of Sikh, Hindu and Pakistani Christian groups have written a joint letter criticising Labour’s “weak response” to a frontbencher who spoke out about the race factor in sex-grooming cases.

The letter, co-signed by Lord Singh of Wimbledon, defends Sarah Champion, the Labour MP who was forced to quit the front bench after pointing out that many perpetrators of sex crimes involving street-grooming were of Pakistani origin.

The letter also points out that it is “not just white girls” who have fallen victim to grooming gangs."

current case is interesting. no soosai bummer, fairly basic device made from basic ingredients and xmas fairy lights detonator. i'm no expert but looks like the plastic bucket probably didn't contain the charge properly which therefore failed to explode - just burned out. police haven't said whether it was a timer or a mobile phone trigger, and whilst they have identified a suspect on CCTV, there is no news of who/what/where. my initial thoughts were that it might be a somali or maghrebi... but i am coming back to a young british-pakistani with a chemistry book and the fervour of jeehard coursing through his underpants

meanwhile armed police presence will increase, more patrols in general and troops will be deployed to guard key locations to take the pressure off the police

China refuses inspection by UK team of their power plant contracted to build same copy in UK

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/ho ... 79526.html
staff from the UK’s Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) were reportedly denied access to security details when they visited the company in Shenzhen, China, earlier this year. The trip was part of a four-year process that the company must pass before it is granted a licence to build a nuclear reactor at Bradwell.

Brexit could cause major power cuts, nuclear scientists warn
Following the visit, UK inspectors praised the “high level of expertise and commitment” at CGN.

However, they said they had been refused security information about the CGN plant in Fangchenggang, China, which could be a model for the Bradwell facility. The inspectors’ report was released to The Guardian in response to a freedom of information request.

In it, they said: “With regard to the sharing of information, such as the security plans for FCG [Fangchenggang] Unit 3, CGN stated that these were protected documents under Chinese regulations.

UK must take action on racial disparity, says Theresa May

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41560927

"The government says the figures released at 12:30 BST will suggest:

Black Caribbean pupils were being permanently excluded from school three times as often as White British pupils

At key stage two, 71% of Chinese primary school pupils met the expected standard for reading, writing and maths, compared with 54% of White British pupils and 13% of White Gypsy and Roma pupils

White British pupils on free school meals performed the worst in the second stage of primary school (key stage 2) with 32% reaching the expected level

Unemployment among black, Asian and other ethnic minorities is almost double that of white British adults

Those more likely to own their own home are Indian, Pakistani and white people compared with black people and those from Bangladesh"

If Labour Govt tries to preach to us, India can threaten tough diplomatic and commercial counter measures against Britain. It can and should show a mirror to Britain to make it realize its aukat. Earlier being a part of EU it could have brought in collective pressure and remain unaffected to any Indian reaction. Now it is vulnerable and should be told in no uncertain terms that there are red lines it can cross only to its detriment.

I am surprised India is letting Britain go scot free after it has given protection (under the garb of its laws and judicial process) to wanted criminals from India. India can and should absolutely retaliate.

On the eve of Queen Elizabeth's visit to India when they had tried an equal equal with pakistan and offered to mediate on resolving Kashmir, IK Gujral had called Britain third rate power in 1997. If IK Gujral could say this just to an offer of mediation when India was very vulnerable post Soviet Union collapse, then today if they talk in favor of separatists/terrorists, India should go all out and humiliate it diplomatically and commercially.

Really? Check what had happened post Gujral's attack on Britain then. Then Foreign Secretary of Shit Britain did not utter the K word when he visited India and to placate India it supported India's membership of the Asea-Europe meeting.

India was dependent on UK for Asea Europe meeting membership!!!! . Shows how far things have changed today.

Today if India can withstand Chinese military and diplomatics pressure successfully, Britain is small potatoes. Its time of humiliation will surely come.

Theresa May will sack Cabinet ministers if they are proven to be sex pests, the Telegraph understands, as a rapidly growing list of MPs accused of harassment circulated in Westminster.

The Prime Minister wrote to Commons Speaker John Bercow yesterday demanding tough new rules to govern MPs’ behaviour, saying the problem “cannot be tolerated any longer”.

It was claimed Conservative party staff have complied a list of 36 current Tory MPs against whom allegations of inappropriate behaviour have been made, including having affairs with junior colleagues, being "handsy" with women and using prostitutes.

Mrs May also asked the Cabinet Office to investigate the conduct of international trade minister Mark Garnier, who admitted calling his secretary “sugar t**s” and sending her to buy sex toys for him.

Another senior Conservative, former cabinet minister Stephen Crabb, has admitted sending “explicit”...

These four countries hate the EU even more than Britain

The UK may have taken the historic decision to leave the European Union, but the bloc is looked upon far more favourably here than it is in some countries.

According a survey, 55 per cent of Britons said the UK had benefitted from being a member of the EU, while only 39 per cent of Italians agreed with the statement.

Guy Verhofstadt, leader of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Group, tweeted a table of EU states, ranked according to how much they believe membership has paid off.

The Belgian politician said: “A significant majority of Europeans believe EU Membership is beneficial for them. But we could do so much more. Let’s build the EU we need!”

At the top of the list is Ireland, Malta and Lithuania. France, the Czech Republic are just above the UK in terms of support.

Image

According to the report, 90 cent of the Irish believe their country had benefitted from being a member of the EU.

Earlier this year, the UK’s Brexit Secretary said no other countries were likely to follow Britain in leaving the EU.

David Davis said fears from the European Commission that Brexit would start a domino effect were “without foundation”.

He argued Britain was “a very different country” to the rest of the EU and suggested that the UK had decided to leave because of its unique “global reach”.

Nigel Farage, as well as Donald Trump, predicted the Brexit vote could spell the beginning of the end for the European Union.

However, support among the bloc’s citizens has actually jumped sharply since the Brexit vote.

Earlier this year, countries including Germany and France reported a rises in the number of people with a favourable view.

But the report, published over summer, warned that concerns about the EU remained.

“[The rise in support] does not necessarily mean these publics are satisfied with the current state of affairs in Europe,” it said.

After Brexit, Italian ministers warned the EU that it must change direction or risk collapse after Britain’s vote to leave the bloc.

“The unthinkable is happening,” Finance Minister Pier Carlo Padoan said. “A double reaction to Brexit is under way, one financial, one political. The financial one, at least until now, is limited. I am more worried about the political one.

“There is a cocktail of factors that can lead to various outcomes, including a further push towards disintegration.”

May hits Brussels in bid to break Brexit deadlock

Prime Minister Theresa May travels to Brussels on Monday for talks over dinner with European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker after deadlock in the Brexit talks appeared to dash her hopes that a summit this week could launch negotiations on future trade ties. Saskia O'Donoghue reports
