Ajit Doval was caught with members of the Chhota Rajan gang in 2005 by Mumbai police. They raided him in Delhi. Imagine the reach of Dawood that he got Mumbai police to come to Delhi and spoil the plan of an ex-IB director. It must be around the same time Dawood was planning to visit Mumbai. They might have assassinated him on Indian soil.

A report which makes Lt. Col. Purohit the villain of the piece by citing an inquiry, conducted by the Directorate General of Military Intelligence:

http://indianexpress.com/article/india/ ... r-4810786/

Funny to read: "The inquiry found that Purohit maintained a well-stocked library with books on Shivaji, Arabic language, ornithology and children’s literature." Enough to make anyone a dreaded saffron terrorist.

This is very BIG! Lt Colonel Purohit coming out innocent from this case will drive the final nail in Congress's coffin. I've a very strong feeling that Chidambram is going to get squeezed between the money laundering and this case. He's going to jail or will sing like 'performers' in the famous Heera Mandi of La-Whore.

Do watch this.

A lot of folks say what is the big deal we knew all along that it was a setup.

They are wrong its not about just setting up Lt. Col Purohit but the debasement of the entire ruling systems by motivated coterie of individuals.

Lt. Col Purohit case is India's Drefyuss case where an Army officer is made a criminal for serving an agenda.

The entire system connived in this criminality: Indian Army top brass, Ministry of Defence Officials, Home Ministry, NSA MK Neroynan and SS Menon, politicians like Chidamabaram, and Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi and not to forget the judiciary which still holds Purohit in jail despite many pleas by NIA that they have no evidence. And the press like Shekhar Gupta and his ilk.

While whining about coups, Congress subverted and launched a coup on the Indian Army with will stool pigeon Generals who were busy in Adharsh Scam type of crimes.

I want an Inquiry Commission to unravel what happened and let the facts come out.
Its not just about setting Lt Col Purohit free.
Its about India and the failure of the Constitution to protect individuals when all connive to defame Hindus.

This can happen to any other religion too.
So need to find out what happened and fix it.

some colonels mentioned seem to have very dubious antecedents.

They should be caught by their collars and hauled up publicly and imprisoned if found guilty.

^^ You should see the emphatic way in which he says that in his NewsX interview. Link was posted above by someone... I too had the same thought - here's a person wrongly in jail for almost 10 years, a serving officer to boot, and the public wondering how the Army could let this happen to one of their own, etc., and when he is released, the things he gives the most importance to is the flag and his uniform.

Why was MI involved in FICN tracking? Is that a mandate of DGMI/DIA?

The scan of his report show him mentioning Abu Azmi by name as the leader of the ring.

But sadly the report maker is communal whereas the neta is secular. So DDM obviously cannot tarnish the secularism based on false communal reports of DGMI

Its the root in the system that stays at the top that had set Indian against Indian. I maybe wrong on this but I would not jump to name calling a police officer who tried to stop an AK-47 carrying berserk terrorist only with a service revolver.

Oh no. The "police officer" was playing Rambo.
"advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice". I hope we remember that adage.

The so called ATS were probably the only geniuses that believed in saffron terror crap. Ignorance or malice?

Yes, in certain ways the problem is at root. A British era system that was designed to torture us Indians still persists. It is pathetic we find excuses to defend its actions, a force that whimpers away at first hint danger, a force that acts as a private army of the anti-national politicians.

I'm sorry. Please keep on defending these vermin that are responsible for deaths of hundreds of ranks from CRPF and State polices, because these pests only understand entitlement and abuse of power and are totally bereft of any leadership skills.

Col Shrivastava still walking free. His superior Brigadier no one has talked to.yet. Gen Kapoor still silent.

All Congress leaders who did this free. No blame.

In her first interview after his arrest, she kept repeating only one thing about Col. Purohit, "faar apmaan zhala", this is what ordinary people like us fear the most. Unable to locate that video on YouTube, please share if anyone know the link. This is beyond Dhananand's crimes.

Very unlikely. Karkare and the ATS had worked with Col Purohit and he had provided many useful inputs to them that were appreciated. It was only when the inputs started to hit close to the congi and islamofacist homes that the powers that be got perturbed.

some reports strongly suggest that Karkare was personally involved in the tortures of Col Purohit. Some IA brass shamefully took shelter in silence.

The govt knows all this and since matters are sensitive and involve "personalities", breaking news via the "investigative journalism" route by the usual suspect TV channels will be followed again.

This ties in with the book release (A book named "26/11 : RSS ki Sazish" written by Aziz Burney) which was "graced" by His Sliminess digvijay as well as the batla encounter explanation by salman kurshit about how MQ "cried bitterly" at hearing the news.

The linkages led/lead right to the top and in full public view.

Only then, no one made the obvious connections because, the lootyens pasand presstitutes were all fiercely protective of the congi ecosystem and mentioning MQ's name in the press was considered blasphemy and sacrilege.

If kasab had not been captured alive, the "saffron terror" angle to the 26/11 attacks would have been played up world wide and the RSS would have been banned. Prominient leadres like the RSS chief and Modi, Shah and many others would have been arrested and jailed forthwith.

MQ and the pathetic congis were too dumb to come up with such a devious plan. This has to have originated outside of India with solidly backed BIF and their unlimited funding resources. It required the enormous resources of the islamic as well as the EJ interests who have sought to meddle in India since well before independence.

This alone indicates that the "saffron terror" angle, complete with the "sacred thread" proof would have had some international involvement and origins.

The complete story has not been told as of yet.

This was the fear that the rise of Hindutwa and the Modi phenomenon was causing internationally and also that their so far docile, complacent and pliable targets, the Hindu sheep, would no longer tolerate their nefarious EJ and jehadi plans to convert, subvert and recolonize the sub continent once again.

I wonder what would have been the wondrous explanation for the circumcised pr1cks of the attackers.

Colonel Purohits tragic saga: India's sword arm betrayed

Colonel Purohits tragic saga: India's sword arm betrayed

Jay Bhattacharjee 24-08-2017

On Monday, the 21st August, the Supreme Court effectively ended one of the most painful and tragic episodes in independent India’s history, when it granted bail to the Military Intelligence officer, Lt. Colonel P.S. Purohit (PSP) who had been in prison, awaiting trial, for nearly nine years. By effectively drawing down the curtain on a heartrendingly sad chapter, the apex court redeemed (at least partially) its honour and esteem in our nation’s collective psyche.

This writer has been following the entire saga after it unfolded nine years ago in September 2008, when a series of deadly bomb explosions killed a number of people in Malegaon, Maharashtra. UPA-1 had already been in power in Raisina Hill for more than four years and the stench of corruption and woeful mismanagement was widespread. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his cabal, under the control of the Congress Party’s power centre in 10 Janpath, had already come under the scanner for a series of appalling economic/financial scandals. Moreover, India had been repeatedly attacked by Islamic terror groups, either home-grown or controlled by Pakistan’s official agencies. The time was ripe for diversionary moves that would take the spotlight away from 10 Janpath and the Party headquarters at 24 Akbar Road. This was the ambience under which the bizarre, treacherous and perverse notion of “saffron terror” was spawned. What followed for nine years was an abysmal chapter in post-independent India’s history that has few parallels.

This essay will attempt to unravel the basic facts of this horrendous conspiracy that not only ruined the lives of many innocent victims, including a professional Army officer who was only carrying out the duties he was tasked with but also compromised national security gravely and almost destroyed the nation’s sword-arm. It also gave Pakistan and the forces of international Islamic terror enormous leverage and ammunition to attack India relentlessly in every conceivable world forum. I will also draw the historical parallels between the Purohit tragedy and another conspiracy that nearly destroyed a great European nation in the early 20th century.

First, let us look at the basic facts and timeline of the Purohit case. The Malegaon bomb blasts took place on the 29th September 2008, resulting in 6 deaths and a number of casualties. The Mumbai Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) took over the case on the 20th October 2008. This was when the seeds of the conspiracy were sown. Under a high-profile officer, Hemant Karkare, the ATS initially investigated Islamist terrorists who were proliferating in various parts of the country under a benevolent UPA-Congress regime. Soon, the ATS veered on to another track altogether and the sordid treachery started.

There are now credible reports that a former chief of SIMI and a known terrorist Safdar Nagori had been admitted in a taped confession that the Samjhauta Express blasts of February 18, 2007, were carried out by operatives trained in Pakistan. The tape had apparently been deliberately kept under wraps for nine years because the erstwhile UPA government did not want it to come out. To make matters worse, a recent sting investigation by a leading TV channel in June 2017 shows how some Pakistanis arrested by Indian agencies were discharged within 14 days, even though they were key suspects in one of the deadliest terrorist attacks on India till that time. One must remember that the chief power brokers operating in Mumbai and Delhi during this period were people like Sushil Kumar Shinde, Digvijay Singh, P. Chidambaram, Sharad Pawar et al, who were paragons of virtue under the convoluted ethical norms of the Sonia Gandhi – Manmohan Singh Raj. For Karkare to change tack was understandable. He started on the “Hindu-saffron” terror trail and soon Sadhvi Pragya and Col. Purohit were arrested in November 2008.

This is where the top echelons of the Indian Army disgraced themselves. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at that time was Deepak Kapoor, a member and beneficiary of the infamous “Line of Succession” doctrine concocted by the UPA-Congress cabal a few years earlier. Therefore, some of the men in olive-green were more than ready to carry out the diktats of the khadi lot, throwing rules, regulations and laws to the wind. Initially, the good Colonel only faced a Court of Inquiry as prescribed under the Army Act 1950 (as amended from time to time) that governs all disciplinary action against Indian Army personnel. Even when the proceedings against PSP were far from reaching the next two stages, namely the summary of evidence and the actual GCM (General Court Martial), he was handed over by the Army to the tender mercies of the ATS gang in Mumbai under Karkare.

In this writer’s considered opinion, this was a gross violation of law and procedure that saw this warrior incarcerated for so many years in civilian jails and subjected to a legal process notorious for slow delivery of justice. Soon, the ATS slapped the stringent provisions of MCOCA against PSP, fellow accused Sadhvi Pragya Thakur and others. The gory circus of the Congress-UPA government’s delirious and treacherous “saffron terror” conspiracy had started. Soon after the lamentable decision to hand over PSP to civilian custody, I had buttonholed a senior Lt. General at a public meeting and conveyed my opinion to him most forcefully. This person had just hung up his boots and was waiting for a post-retirement appointment in one of the statutory agencies located in Lutyens Delhi that serves as a sinecure for pliant soldiers. I knew that the fellow was mouthing platitudes. The same was true of a number of my other acquaintances in the Armed Forces. I am afraid this was not among the finest moments for many of the Indian Republic’s senior warriors. And sadly, the omerta continues till today.

The Purohit-Sadhvi tragedy preceded the Mumbai attacks by a month. There was an outrageous coincidence here too. The MCOCA charges were levied against PSP and others on the 29th November 2008, when the city was still reeling from the after-effects of the Pakistani terror attack that had started three days earlier on the 26th. There was another irony that played out; Karkare, the man responsible for following the agenda laid down by his political masters, was laid low by adherents of the same Islamic terror from Pakistan that he had sought to whitewash. Even after Kasab had been caught and put up for trial, Digvijay Singh and company still had the gumption to propagate a “saffron angle” to the 26-11 outrage. This was the mother of all conspiracy theories but the Congress-UPA high command still did not summon up the requisite decency and courage to counter the obscenity peddled by the “secularist” gang of Digvijay and his cohorts. The heavens could have wept. This http://www.middle-east-online.com/english/?id=35286 report is one of many that peddled the “saffron terror” fable in the international media.

This is the appropriate stage to spell out the parallels between Indian developments and those that took place in France a hundred and twenty years earlier. I refer to the Dreyfus affair since the two scenarios are eerily similar. In both cases, determined opponents in foreign countries wanted to destabilise the armed forces and to create deep divisions in the social fabrics of the two countries involved – the Indian Republic and the French Republic. Colonel Purohit may not have suffered the same degree of injustice, torture, humiliation and deprivation that Captain Dreyfus did, but this is a bagatelle. A comparison of wrongdoings is a meaningless and futile exercise.

As far as the Indian scenario and the game-plan of Pakistan’s proxies are concerned, it may be useful to look at an analysis that I http://www.indiaspin.com/2017/02/the-en ... arm-of.html wrote a few months earlier. This essay also refers to one of my articles published on this portal a few years ago. The Dreyfus case is summarised briefly here. On the 15th October 1894, Captain Alfred Dreyfus was summoned to the French War Ministry. He was asked to write in his own hand a letter dictated by another officer. Unknown to Dreyfus, this was a letter written by a French spy, found in the dustbin of the German military attaché in Paris and the French were looking for the spy.

Dreyfus, while writing, shivered involuntarily and this was interpreted as a sign of guilt. The unfortunate man was immediately arrested on charges of high treason. Two months later, he was court-martialled and sentenced to life imprisonment in French Guiana in Devil’s Island, their version of our Cellular Jail in the Andamans. The jail where PSP was incarcerated would hardly be better than the one where Dreyfus spent so many years. The primary reason for hounding Dreyfus was that he was a Jew from Alsace, although he had loyally chosen to serve France even after the Germans annexed Alsace-Lorraine in 1871. The French upper classes still retained traces of virulent anti-Semitism that often led them to override their hostility to Germany. The senior officers in the armed forces were especially prone to this disease.

The twists and turns in the Dreyfus case were so complicated that it would be difficult to recount them fully in this essay. In summary, new evidence surfaced in 1896, strongly suggesting that the actual culprit and traitor was another French military officer, Esterhazy. In 1898, he was court-martialled but quickly found not guilty, another travesty of justice. He quickly fled from France.

In response, the legendary French novelist Émile Zola published an open letter titled “J’accuse” (“I accuse”) on the front page of the popular newspaper L’Aurore, which accused the judges of being under the thumb of the military. By the evening, 200,000 copies had been sold. One month later, Zola was sentenced to jail for libel but managed to escape to England.

In 1899, five years after Dreyfus was first imprisoned, his trial was reopened thanks to the efforts of numerous politicians, military figures and intellectuals who had accumulated evidence to refute the false case against Dreyfus. But to everyone’s surprise, instead of releasing Dreyfus, the court found him guilty once more and sentenced him to ten years in prison, though it had the decency to withdraw his life sentence. It was not until the French President granted amnesty to Dreyfus that the tables turned. In 1903 after his rehabilitation, Dreyfus sent a letter to the “Garde des Sceaux” (Lord Chancellor) demanding a revision of his trial. Finally, in 1906, the court recognized Dreyfus’s innocence and annulled the false verdict rendered against him earlier.

As readers will see, the unfortunate experiences of Colonel Purohit and Captain Dreyfus clearly run in parallel, even though they are separated by so many decades. Both were victims of social forces that affected their military services and governed their socio-political milieu. In France, it was the Church and residual anti-Semitism that even condoned anti-national activity. In India, it is the perverse “secularism” and visceral anti-Indic sentiments of the ruling Congress oligarchs.
Dreyfus was fully rehabilitated in his beloved French Army. Colonel Purohit, one fervently hopes, is on his way to getting back his life and career in the Indian Army, an institution that he devoted his life to.

In the incident more than 110 years earlier that I have recounted above, the guilty were never punished. One fervently hopes this will not be the case in Colonel Purohit’s saga. There are a lot of reprobates and vermin out there who have to be punished for their crimes. Somehow our national and societal track-record on this score does not inspire much confidence and optimism in me, though I would love to be proved wrong. Finally, will we witness an Indian version of Emile Zola who will use his / her pen to correct a grievous wrong and to render full justice to an indomitable warrior?

"Congress Mukt Bharat " was derided as a grandiose and vengeful agenda by an evil Modi.

It looks like there was a deep game plan that was introduced well before 2014 and the opposition was well aware of it. The lootyens pasand among the BJP top echelons were not in sync with the counter attack as it well may have endangered their own personal agendas as also evidenced by their reluctance to endorse the newly emerging leadership of Modi - shah.

I often wonder at the devious role of con artist nitishwa and why was he so very confident that the BJP leadership would endorse a non BJP guy like him for the post of PM and the sheer pique and bloody-mindedness that he publicly exhibited when his plans fell through.

Who assured him of support and what exactly did he bring to the table?? He neither had the political muscle nor the political gravitas to don such a mantle . Who did he represent??

The BJP was a nationally recognized party with its own credible leadership and had formed national government before.

On what basis did nitishwa expect to supplant that leadership with his own shabby socialist agenda ?? Was he assured by BIF forces, outside of the BJP that the fruit was ripe for the plucking?

nitishwa's case is curious. If you aim for the king, you had better score a fatal hit because the counter attack could leave you dead.

He aimed for Modi and missed and yet here he is as though nothing happened, yet.

Modi shah are not the forgiving type either. This sordid saga has not yet concluded.

The consolidation of the Hindu society after 2014 was desperately sought to be prevented by the BIF gang and this consolidation has only grown from strength to strength with the passage of time.

Manohar Parrikar's interview to NewsX on the same topic:

Army could have defended Purohit better: Parrikar
By Ashish Singh | New Delhi | 26 August, 2017
Goa Chief Minister and former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar spoke to NewsX-The Sunday Guardian on the Lieutenant Colonel Purohit case. Excerpts:

Q: As a former Defence Minister, what’s your first reaction to Lt Col Purohit’s bail, which has come after nine years of struggle? I am told you have studied Purohit’s documents, his requests, report of inquiry, every communication that has taken place in the Ministry of Defence related to him.

A: I think the relief granted is only in terms of bail. The case is still pending before court. So it’s only the first relief that Purohit got. But when the matter came to me, Purohit’s wife had written to me about documents not being provided to him for defending himself. That time I went through the entire documentation and I found that he was a very productive military intelligence officer, who had collected a lot of information that was useful to the armed forces. Therefore, there was nothing wrong in giving documents to him to defend himself. Of course the confidential and secret part of it was blacked out, but the rest of the documents very clearly proved that he was a military intelligence officer who was required to penetrate himself in various outfits, whether terrorist or others, to gather information. So I said that it should be provided to him.

Q: That’s a huge point you are making, when you say that after having studied his documents and files that he was a productive intelligence officer. Did the earlier UPA government, refrain from defending a productive intelligence officer because until you became the Defence Minister no help was extended to a serving Army lieutenant colonel either from the Army or from the MoD?

A: Yes, that is the history, but I didn’t go into that much. What I could have said, that the Army could have defended him much better had they informed ATS (Anti-Terrorism Squad) that he was an active, in-service military intelligence officer. That fact was probably not properly brought before the ATS, and I don’t know the reasons why. But it should have been done.

Q:. Lt Col Purohit, in an interaction with me claimed that he had collected a lot of information which could have troubled a lot of politicians—he was on the verge of exposing a lot of politicians and lot of anti-national activities, right from terrorists moving in politicians’ red beacon cars, Dawood’s movements in India, fake currency racket. He had collected information on all this and had reported this as well to the concerned authorities. I’m sure you must have come across this information while going through the files.

A: I think this is a matter of fact which is part of this document. Some of them of course could not have been given without blacking them out. But possibly a lot of information was gathered by him, which would have helped if someone was serious about it.

Q: You have said that he was a productive officer. In that case why was he stuck in jail for nine years, without the National Investigating Agency filing a chargesheet against him?

A: I feel it is for the court to decide, but I can say one thing that he was in active service of the Army and the Army should have defended him at that time, by clearly indicating the role he played. This probably was lacking…and that might have been the reason why he got stuck in the lock up for nine years.

Q: This particular case will certainly have a lot of impact on the morale and functioning of intelligence structures in our country.

A: I’ll not go into the theory part of it but I can say that if the Army doesn’t protect its military intelligence officers nobody will come forward to stake his life and career for gathering intelligence, because intelligence gathering in the armed forces has to be getting involved in penetrating various organizations—terror and militant outfits—to gather information. You are risking your life and if you don’t get even the basic protection required it can cause a problem. Proper care needs to be taken in such matters and we should avoid politics as far as military intelligence is concerned.

Q: Sir, do you feel that justice has been delayed in this case when he was not granted bail for nine years?

A: I was all the time getting feedback from serving as well as retired officers that gross injustice was being done against Lt Col Purohit. That was the feeling I got even in Goa after becoming Chief Minister, when I met some retired officers. They also expressed the same thing and probably there was unanimity in providing him proper protection, which is of course legal protection. The case can continue, the bail does not mean that the total case has been decided. Let the case continue, but at least bail was minimum, that could have happened.

Q. As a former Defence Minister what would be your advice to the Army now onwards?

A: I think the Army should bring out the truth before the court, maybe in camera if required. That should be adequate to give him enough defence argument.

Q. It appears that Purohit’s case was just not a Malegaon blast case, or just an Army intelligence related case. There was a touch of politics involved in it.

A: No, I will just convey that we should try and not bring the armed forces and its intelligence into controversies and too much discussion. These are very secretive operations and they need to be given the secrecy they deserve.

SRoyji for a moment just consider that Karkare may not have known the truth. He may have been honestly laboring under the impression that Col. Purohit was a terrorist and trying to beat the information or of him. Kind of domestic false flag.

Its the root in the system that stays at the top that had set Indian against Indian. I maybe wrong on this but I would not jump to name calling a police officer who tried to stop an AK-47 carrying berserk terrorist only with a service revolver.

Thanks. As I stated I was not fully aware. Thanks for shedding more light on this.

Purohit points finger at Congress president

Purohit points finger at Congress president

BY SANDHYA JAIN
AUGUST 26, 2017

Lt. Col. Prasad Shrikant Purohit, released after nearly nine years in jail when the Supreme Court granted him bail on August 21, hinted in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi soon after he assumed office, that the sitting president of a major political party was behind the conspiracy that saw him decoyed from his posting at Pachmarhi, MP, to Mumbai, where the Anti Terror Squad (ATS) made an illegal civilian arrest of a serving Army officer.

Purohit suggests the conspiracy was masterminded by more powerful forces than the Maharashtra ATS…

Purohit has hinted at having uncovered dark secrets while taking an 18-month Arabic course at Pachmarhi, MP, while continuing to gather intelligence as an officer of the Military Intelligence, and pleaded for an in-depth investigation of the same. Purohit is one of the country’s leading experts on the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), and renowned for his work in counter-terrorism and counter-intelligence in Kashmir and Maharashtra. In fact, his very success provoked his ruination at the hands of as yet unidentified forces.

Writing from judicial custody in Taloja Central Prison in Navi Mumbai (PSP/55224/Official Corres/14, dated May 31, 2014), Purohit, an accused in the Malegaon 2008 bomb blast case, claims that the entire case against him was fabricated and stage-managed by the Maharashtra ATS, for reasons best known to them and their policy makers [read political masters]. His appeals in this regard to the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, Defence Minister A.K. Antony, and even the then President of India, fell on deaf ears.

Purohit suggests the conspiracy was masterminded by more powerful forces than the Maharashtra ATS, and states that he had drawn Dr. Manmohan Singh’s attention to “the attempts of politicizing the case by the president incumbent of the National Congress Party”; the word Congress was subsequently cut and deleted for ‘Political’ Party in pencil. The letter is written in ink. Purohit makes a dig at Singh’s “ventriloquism” in the matter!

Explaining the case, Purohit says a bomb blast took place in Malegaon town of Maharashtra on September 29, 2008, in which seven persons died and many were injured. At the time, Purohit was in distant Pachmarhi.

Informed sources claim Purohit had uncovered and aborted at least seven terror attacks in the country and had advance knowledge of the forthcoming attack on November 2008, which possibly led to his downfall.

On October 24, 2008, Col. R.K. Srivastava arrived at Pachmarhi from Army Headquarters with instructions to facilitate Purohit’s interaction with ATS Maharashtra Police. Srivastava also had instructions to bring Purohit to Delhi to meet with Military Intelligence-20. Purohit says Srivastava did not convey any of these messages to him, and in fact treated him shabbily from the start.

On October 29, 2008, the Adjutant of the Army Education Corps and Training Centre (AEC) gave Purohit his movement order (without which he could not leave his duty station), which directed him to report to Director MI-20 at Army Hqrs. Srivastava asked him to leave his mobile phone with the Adjutant. Purohit’s family believed he was going to Delhi.

At the Bhopal Airport, however, Col. Srivastava forced him to board a flight to Mumbai, under a false movement order, and he had no means of communicating with his family. it is notable that an Army Court of Inquiry in 2009 upheld Purohit’s claim of abduction, kidnapping and illegal detention by Col. Srivastava. Various witnesses (Lt. Col. G.C. Mohanta, then Adjutant of AEC; Brigadier Rajkumar, then DDG MI, and others) confirmed that Purohit was moved on a false movement order.

On reaching Mumbai on the night of October 29, 2008, he was taken in a white Sumo to a civilian bungalow at Khandala, on the Mumbai-Pune highway. He remained here until November 4, 2008, in the illegal custody of ATS officers who subjected him to unspeakable mental and physical torture. Depraved threats were made against the women members of his family. The worst offenders included then ATS chief, Hemant Karkare (d. Mumbai 2008), then Addl. DG Police, Parambir Singh, inspector Arun Khanvilkar (since dismissed from service in another matter), and then Asst. CP, Mohan Kulkarni (since retd).

Aparna Purohit’s attempts to locate her husband in this period failed, as the AEC Adjutant, Lt. Col. G.C. Mohanta, was totally in the dark, having given a movement order for Delhi.

On November 5, 2008, Lt. Col. Purohit was handed over to the Mumbai ATS, an action that was illegal and based on this illegal series of events. He became Accused No. 9 in the Malegaon 2008 bomb blast case.

Tracing events prior to his taking the Arabic course at Pachmarhi, Lt. Col. Purohit served as an intelligence officer with the Southern Command Liaison Unit, Pune, at Devlali, Nasik. One of his registered intelligence sources, Sudhakar Chaturvedi, was made Accused No. 11 in the Malegaon case. The ATS claimed to have arrested him on November 20, 2008, and recorded that the house provided to him in the cantonment area was searched under panchanama on November 25, 2008, where traces of the RDX allegedly used in the Malegaon blast were recovered. The charge sheet stated that the bomb was assembled at Chaturvedi’s house.

This theory exploded during the Army’s Court of Inquiry, when two independent witnesses, Major Pravin Khanzade (Witness 1) and Subedar (then) Keshav K. Pawar (Witness 2) revealed that on November 3, 2008 (two days before Purohit’s arrest and 17 days before Chaturvedi’s arrest), the two of them had caught an ATS Asst. police inspector, Shekhar Bagade, planting evidence at Chaturvedi’s house. On being caught, he had pleaded with them not to report his presence there. But Major Khanzade reported the incident to all his seniors in Devlali and to Hqrs. Southern Command, Pune.

The statements of Khanzade and Pawar figure on page 330 (July 8, 2009,) and page 426 (July 27, 2009,) of the official record of the Court of Inquiry.

Clearly, the ATS officers who fabricated the evidence against Chaturvedi prior to the arrest of Purohit and Chaturvedi could not have planned for the written testimony of Major Khanzade to his superiors! With this explosive evidence available to it in 2009, the Army authorities clearly realized they were sitting on a very deep-rooted conspiracy that went back to highly influential persons in Lutyens Delhi. They seem to have decided that their best course was to preserve the evidence for a better day – a wise move.

The ATS managed to compromise some of Purohit’s carefully crafted intelligence network. Three of his registered intelligence operators were made co-accused in the case and four were made witnesses against him.

It is fairly obvious that only a mole(s) inside the Pune Military Intelligence unit could leak the names of Purohit’s registered sources to the ATS. It seems likely that the registered assets of other serving military intelligence officers may also have been compromised in this period – not only in Maharashtra but other States as well. The Government of India and Hqrs. of all Services need to make subtle inquiries in this regard.

In March-April 2011, the case was handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which too, failed to file a charge sheet (till date).

Purohit ends his missive urging the Prime Minister to ensure the release of all innocents in the case, not just himself. Calling himself an old war horse that responds to one call of the bugle, he prays for the “singular honor” of serving “my most revered and beloved motherland”.

This letter brought tears to the eyes of even veteran soldiers with whom it was shared. It is incumbent upon the Government to give the soldier back his honor and the accolades that are his legitimate due.

The investigations must begin with the first attack on Hindu sacred spaces outside Jammu and Kashmir – Akshardham, Ahmedabad, September 2002 – and the creation of the ‘Hindu Terror’ narrative under the auspices of the Sonia-Gandhi led United Progressive Alliance.

Above all, statutory action must be taken against Col. R.K. Srivastava, and the surviving members of the Mumbai ATS – Addl. DG Police, Parambir Singh, inspector Arun Khanvilkar and Asst. CP, Mohan Kulkarni. Hemant Karkare’s disgraceful conduct also needs to be put on record.

I would like to slightly modify the good general Rawat,s remarks. It is a three front war, shitistan, chinks and our own traitors. The last one will be the most difficult. It has been going on for at least a thousand years with no end in sight.

i am not clear on the sequence of events here.

1. he writes a letter to MMS saying "“the attempts of politicizing the case by the president incumbent of the National Congress Party”

2. somebody in PMO or whoever then does this- " word Congress was subsequently cut and deleted for ‘Political’ Party in pencil"? was this letter released to public or just entered into some records on the case?

3. "Purohit makes a dig at Singh’s “ventriloquism” in the matter!" - how did Purohit come to know of the matter and when does he "make a dig"...?

National Congress Party is NCP, and its President is Shared Pawar. Is that who Lt Col Purohit is referring to?
