They are basically scoring an own goal by the shrill propaganda by the Islamist (Al Jazeera) and far left (Guardian etc). The global public sentiment is not going to be sympathetic to that nonsense and whatever genuine concerns they may have will also get ignored.

Both are Nobel Peace prize winners. Both are right. They can not be wrong. It is good to preach nonviolence and tolerance at international conferences. But when you have to solve a real problem.........it is quit different.

I remember during the Mandal Comm era, Nelson Mandela came to India to endorse this and said on TV how the "lower classes" would benefit.

There was an organised protest by Muslim muneetra kazhagam today near my home in Chennai against atrocities on Rohingyas by Myanmar. Looks like the leftist and islamist cells are activated to orchestrate some trouble

There has been a sudden advent of Burmese food in Chennai over the last few years and I was wondering the source until I read about camps of Rohingyas in Chennai.

Meanwhile, back at the farm, paki momeens came out to protest this:

Thousands in Pakistan protest 'genocide' of Rohingya Muslims
Hmmm...where were these believers when their bengali muslim birathers were being massacred in 1970?

Image
The largely peaceful rallies were spearheaded by the Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), but other political parties and members of the civil society also joined in.
called for an end to the "genocide" of the Rohingya and for Pakistan to break off relations with the government in Myanmar
"If our leader gives the call, we will lay down our lives for the Myanmar Muslims," one protester, Maulana Ahmed, told AFP.
Nothing better to do? Ever ready to do jihad.

The solution for the Rohingya problem is when all Rohingya are shipped off to Pakistan. There is no reason to entertain them either in Myanmar or India, and if the overflowing Bangladesh, whose government is at the moment well-disposed to India, is also against taking in Rohingyas, then Pakistan is the place to send them off too, otherwise we will be seeing a huge network of Rohingya-Al-Qaeda network spanning all over the subcontinent.

What India can do is to provide some unofficial conduit for the transfer of Rohingya population from East to Pakistan. These can be some trawlers, whatever, which transport Rohingyas to Pakistan. If these Islamist-Congi mafia could smuggle these guys into India, then India too should be able to transfer them to Pakistan.

Alternatively, one can establish even some multilateral mechanism to deal with Rohingya "refugees". Pakistan needs money. Qatar/Sauidis have money, and India has the ships. GCC can finance the refugee transfer to Pakistan officially.

The money would be digested by Crore Kammandus & Politicos, and the Rohingyas can share the space with their brothers in faith in the streets of Karachi, the biggest scum dump of the world.

This way we too can get rid of the Rohingyas already in India.

I hope PM Modi & Ajit Doval have conveyed the appropriate information to Myanmar. Indian counter-intelligence support is crucial for Myanmar.

The above article gives details after c. 2016. I give below some details before that period.

As early as c. 2007, Late B.Raman estimated the strength of HuJI(B) to be about 700, consisting of native Bangladeshis, Rohingya Muslims from the Arakan area of Myanmar and Pattani Muslims from Southern Thailand.

In Oct. 2010, the Thailand police arrested 15 Pakistanis on money transfer relating to the Islamist-insurgency hit southern Thailand.

In c. 2014, LeT extended its footprint along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border using the issues involving the Buddhists and Rohingya Muslims in the Rakhine province.

JuD deputed a two-member team, comprising its spokesperson Nadeem Awan and publications wing member Shahid Mahmood Rehmatullah, to strike relationships with like-minded Islamist groups.

JuD also created Difa-e-Musalman-Arakan Conference (Defence of Muslims in Arakan). LeT has also established a close contact with the Rohingya terror group Aqa Mul Mujahideen (AMM) through Abdus Qadoos Burmi, a Pakistani national of Rohingya origin, who is the HuJI-Arakan Chief and who is also a good friend of LeT Chief Hafeez Saeed. Jamat ud Dawa (JuD)’s humanitarian arm, Falah-e-Insaniat (FiF), was active in Rohingya relief camps in Rakhine State after the 2012 riots.

The above is a Subscription Sight.

Here are Two INDIAN Sources and One UK Source with just a few lines in the Full Article :
1. Daily News & AnalysisA - An iceberg of misinformation: Myanmar's Aung San Suu Ki on reports on treatment of Rohingya Muslims

The latest violence has also hit Rakhine's Buddhist and Hindu populations with nearly 27,000 people displaced and fleeing in the opposite direction and some saying Rohingya militants had murdered their kin.
2. Financial Express - Aung San Suu Kyi slams ‘iceberg of ‘misinformation’ over Rohingya

The latest violence has also hit Rakhine’s Buddhist and Hindu populations with nearly 27,000 people displaced and fleeing in the opposite direction and some saying Rohingya militants had murdered their kin.
3. Daily Mail - Global rep in shreds, but Suu Kyi still the star in Myanmar

Anger rages against the Rohingya militants, with 27,000 ethnic Rakhine Buddhists and Hindus also displaced by the so-called 'Black Friday' attacks.

The militants want "to create a Muslim state" in Rakhine, according to Thaung Thun, a security adviser to the government, feeding a favoured narrative of Buddhist nationalists.

Why Rohingyas need to be deported
Rohingya groups have been engaged in armed militancy since the 1940s with the aim of seceding from Myanmar and creating an Islamist state.
around 150 men armed with machetes, bombs and other weapons launched coordinated attacks on 24 police camps and an army base in Myanmar’s Rakhine state. The night left 71 dead.
It also announced to the world the coming of age of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army, a terror outfit led by Ata Ullah, a Rohingya man born in Karachi and brought up in Mecca.
But that is not the insurgency’s only Pakistan connection. Burmese, Bangladeshi and Indian intelligence agencies have found Pakistan’s terror groups hiring Rohingyas from Bangladesh’s refugee camps, training and arming them. Groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba are already out shopping.
In this backdrop, it is not just wise but urgent for India to deport 40,000 Rohingya Muslim refugees whom it has identified as illegal immigrants. There is a clear and present social, economic and security danger. And if India does not set down the rules of the game right now, it will be difficult to argue against and stop influx later.
The Rohingya conflict is undeniably a massive humanitarian disaster. But such disasters are best addressed locally — putting international pressure, working with the government there, sending shiploads of aid. But you do not solve a crisis by importing it. Ask Europe.

Beware the paki shedding crocodile tears because they are responsible for the current rohingya situation!

Pakistan and the Rohingyas
Pakistan’s decision to grant $5 million worth of food for distribution in Rohingya camps in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, smacks of blatant hypocrisy and vile opportunism. For a state whose paradoxical creation played its part in the alienation of the very community it seeks to use for populist stunts, the government, and opinion makers, seem to be hell bent on ignoring the country's past and the present. This helps them shamelessly use the Rohingya Muslims – victims of barefaced ethnic cleansing – to sketch out a “world against us” picture that fuels Islamo-fascist jingoism that beefs up vote banks and TV ratings.
A state that is overseeing ethnic cleansing in its largest province in the name of a military operation, acquiescing to genocide against a Muslim sect by forming political alliances with the perpetrators and sanctioning the apartheid against another sect through the Constitution, has no grounds to play the saviour card when another community is being persecuted thousands of kilometres away.
Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s refusal to accommodate the Rohingya Muslims in a country ostensibly created as a ‘Muslim homeland’, turned the members of Arakan Muslim League towards jihadism and a radical fight for self-determination – a struggle that continues till this very day.
Clearly the fabricators of the Two Nation Theory didn’t consider the Muslims of the Hindu-majority provinces and probably hadn’t even heard of Rohingya Muslims.
After paying no heed to a Muslim separatist movement in Arakan in 1947, Pakistan’s next contribution towards exacerbating the plight of the Rohingyas was through Operation Searchlight that led to genocide and genocidal rape in East Pakistan to quell Bengali self-determination.
With Pakistan no way near acknowledging the Bangladeshi genocide, and federal ministers like Ch Nisar grieving over the execution of 1971 war criminals like Abdul Qadir Mulla, one doesn’t expect the state to realise its historical contribution to the Rohingya persecution.
In fact, if the government of Pakistan is so concerned about the tragic state of the Rohingya Muslims, maybe it should start with facilitating its own Rohingya population in Karachi, some of whom fled Pakistan’s own military abuses in Bangladesh to seek refuge wherever it could be found.
Despite having lived in Pakistan for decades, after radical Buddhists began their anti-Muslim movement in Burma, the Rohingyas in Pakistan either don’t have an identity card or are registered as ‘Bengalis’.

My guess is that the Rohingyas are a unique type of troublemakers who did not want to live under the complex citizenship system of recognized tribal and ethnic groups in Myanmar, and instead wanted some sort of super-status for which they were prepared to wage war against the state.

Unlike India, which committed to universal citizenship regardless of any considerations of loyalty (savarkar's idea was rejected) the burmans (i believe rhe majority community of myanmar) had no such scruples and simply refused to recognize rohingyas as citizens citing their foreign (bengali) background, but I guess really because they doubted their ability to be loyal, or become loyal.

In Tamil Nadu, anxiety at a Rohingya camp - T.Ramakrishnan, The Hindu
A group of 94 refugees, young and old, belonging to 19 Rohingya families, live in fear at a designated camp in Kancheepuram district as deportation moves gain ground. On September 4, in New Delhi, the Centre refused to give an undertaking that it would stop any measure to deport the Rohingya just because the case is in the Supreme Court. The court has asked the government to give a response on its stand on September 11.

When did they arrive?

Soon after the 2012 spell of violence against the Rohingya in the western province of Rakhine, Myanmar, a group of five families, 32 in all, arrived in Chennai from Kolkata by train. They had reached Kolkata by road through Bangladesh, to which they had fled in a boat. Since 2012, the numbers went up and down. Last year, some persons, living in Jammu and Kashmir, joined them, while some others left for Kerala. At present, of the 94 refugees in all, there are 52 minors. All of them have been registered with the Chennai office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Where do the refugees live?

The Rohingya families have been accommodated on the premises of an old, unimpressive 35-year-old structure in Kelambakkam, 30 km from Chennai, in the neighbouring district of Kancheepuram. The structure was originally built to serve as a cyclone-shelter. Loosely placed sheds, made of wood, plastic and cloth, occupy the open space surrounding the structure and 15 refugees are staying in these sheds.

When UNHCR officials came to know of the presence of the Rohingya in different parts of Chennai in 2015, they sought the support of the Tamil Nadu government, which agreed to locate them in the Kelambakkam shelter.

The Rohingya find Kelambakkam a convenient place to live as it is a bustling suburb with a huge corporate hospital, a nursing home and some information technology firms. Most of the men of the camp have got jobs. Just across the road on which their camp is situated lies a primary health centre, where the refugees go in times of need. “All the eligible children of the camp are going to a panchayat primary school to have free education and the school is about half-a-km away,” points out Noorqaidah, a 17-year-old dropout, who has three sisters and two brothers, all younger.

Talking of the amenities, Ms. Noorqaidah, who speaks in functional Tamil, has only one point to make. “Originally, we had four toilets. Two are not working. Are two toilets enough for all of us,” she asks. Noor Mohammed, leader of the Rohingya community, says, “I request the authorities to provide us better accommodation.”

Are they aware of Myanmar events?

With the only television set they had developing a snag, Ms. Noorqaidah says the inmates are keeping track of what is happening in Myanmar through mobile phones and social media. After a pause, she admits that all the adults in the camp are “extremely worried” about the latest outbreak of violence in their province. At Rakhine, violence has escalated in the last two weeks, forcing thousands of Rohingya to flee to Bangladesh.

“None of them is sleeping properly these days. Some of them break down,” she says.

What if they are deported?

“We do not know anything. I have not heard anything of that sort,” says Mr. Noor Mohammed. But Ms. Noorqaidah is perturbed. “Where will we go? Does this world not have any place for us?” She points out that only after the situation in Myanmar turned unbearable did her community flee the southeast Asian country.

“If the problem subsides there, we would love to go back to our place,” adds the community leader.

Bangladesh briefs India on Rohingya - Kallol Bhattacherjee, The Hindu
India on Saturday expressed concern regarding the ongoing violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine province that has triggered an exodus of the Rohingya into Bangladesh, and said that the situation should be dealt with “restraint” and “maturity”. The statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs asked for protection of the civilian population in Rakhine.

“We would urge that the situation in Rakhine state be handled with restraint and maturity, focussing on the welfare of the civilian population alongside those of the security forces.,” said the Ministry of External Affairs in a statement.

The statement from India came, hours after Bangladesh briefed India about the measures it took to deal with the Rohingya influx from Myanmar. During a meeting with Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar, Dhaka’s envoy to India, Syed Muazzem Ali briefed on the plight of the Rohingya because of the military crackdown against them in Myanmar.

^^^ Our MEA statement in its entirety:
Situation in Rakhine State of Myanmar

September 09, 2017

India remains deeply concerned about the situation in Rakhine State in Myanmar and the outflow of refugees from that region.

We had earlier strongly condemned the terrorist attacks on Myanmar security forces in Rakhine State. The two countries have since affirmed their shared determination to combat terrorism and not allow its justification under any pretext.

During Prime Minister's recent visit to Myanmar, he had expressed his concern at the casualties of security forces as well as other innocent lives. He had also urged a solution based on respect for peace , communal harmony, justice, dignity and democratic values.

It was agreed during the Prime Minister's visit that India would provide assistance under the Rakhine State Development Programme in conjunction with the Government of Myanmar.

We would urge that the situation in Rakhine State be handled with restraint and maturity, focussing on the welfare of the civilian population alongside those of the security forces. It is imperative that violence is ended and normalcy in the State restored expeditiously.

My guess: they have been rented. Probably by China. Also, I have not seen any news that Sittwe or China pipelines have been damaged. Rohingyas may be China's `stick' to control the Burmese.

I am not sure if the chinis are supportive of paki trouble making in Burma. They too supported India's position vis a vis the Rohingya affair, and backed the Burmese government against the islamic terror.

Fix Your Own "Rohingyas Problem" First, Before Protesting To The Govt Of Myanmar !

Rohingya Muslims who fled Burma decades ago did not escape persecution
Taimur Khan

Old article but relevant in the present circumstances !
As Pakistanis vent their outrage over violence towards the Rohingya in Myanmar, their own Rohingya are facing many of the same hardships and are among Karachi's poorest and most vulnerable communities. Taimur Khan reports from Karachi
KARACHI, PAKISTAN // A young Shams ul Azam and his family had never seen the ocean before coming to Karachi as refugees from Burma in 1978. Now, the sea is all they know.

"We became fishermen because we settled near the port, but I think of my village when I see agricultural land here, and my heart weeps," he said. "We tell our children about what life was like there, and they ask when will we go back … but I don't have the answers." Mr ul Azam is one of the thousands of stateless Burmese Muslims known as Rohingya who have fled persecution in Burma over the last 35 years for the relative peace of Karachi, making it one of the largest Rohingya population centres outside of Myanmar, as Burma is now called.
This summer, Buddhist mobs began burning Rohingya villages and the president of Myanmar called for their expulsion from the country. The violence became a cause célèbre in the Muslim world, and Pakistanis vented their outrage on Twitter and Facebook; Islamist parties rallied thousands and called on the government to intervene.
But Pakistan's own Rohingya, who are denied the basic rights of citizenship, face many of the same hardships as their relations in Myanmar, and are one of Karachi's poorest and most vulnerable communities."This is part and parcel of what the Rohingya experience has been in many countries," said Phil Robertson, a Bangkok-based researcher with Human Rights Watch. "It's what Burma's continued denial of citizenship to the Rohingya has resulted in."Mr ul Azam lives in one of Karachi's many sprawling informal developments, this one called Arakanabad, named after the Arakan (now Rakhine) province of Myanmar where the Rohingya have lived for hundreds of years. Karachi is home to more than 200,000 Rohingyas, according to officials at the National Alien Registration Authority (Nara). Pakistan, as usual is "playing politics" with the fate of an ethnic community !
The Rohingya have been the victim of systematic discrimination and violence that has festered since Burma's independence from Britain in 1948, according to an academic study published by by the Pakistan Institute of International Affairs in 1978. The latest bout of sectarian violence in Buddhist-majority Myanmar erupted over the summer and sent tens of thousands of Rohingyas fleeing into neighbouring Bangladesh, where they joined families who have lived in refugee camps for generations.
Recent democratic reforms after decades of military rule have altered little for the Rohingya. Even as the junta frees hundreds of political prisoners, opens the economy and prepares to share power through elections, Rohingya are still prevented from owning land, moving freely and even marrying. These restrictions are based on a 1982 law that stripped most Rohingya of their citizenship by requiring them to prove their families lived in Arakan state before 1823, when the British colonised the region. This standard often proves impossible to meet. Something has to be done to allow a compromise . At the same time, the Rohingyas should not resort to violence as what has happened in 2017 !
Ayesha Siddiqa, a security analyst based in Islamabad, recently wrote that groups like the JUD take up instances of oppression against Muslims to present themselves as defenders of the faith, and in this case possibly to make alliances with Islamist groups in Bangladesh. She said they have little interest in the actual concerns of Rohingyas, especially those in Pakistan.
Mr Awam, said that the group's leader, Hafiz Saeed, who had a US$10 million (Dh36m) bounty placed on his head by the United States in June, "will never leave the side of the Burmese in Karachi". But, he added, the Rohingya here should be given Myanmaran nationality and "treated justly in their own country" rather than being given Pakistani citizenship. Such lip service will do little to change the circumstances of the next generation of Rohingya born in Karachi. Zaid, a 15-year-old ragpicker from Arakanabad, was addicted to sniffing glue for six years before a local non-governmental organization sent him to a rehabilitation programme. He says he has lived on the streets since his mother abandoned him seven years ago. "I joined a gang of Burmese and Bengalis," Zaid said. "We robbed people, we stole side mirrors from cars … a lot of us Burmese end up on the streets like me."

As usual, the Brits, especially their activists, seem to be on the side of the Jihadis.
