What does it say about a nation's situation if this happnes:

ICC World XI players arrive in Pakistan amid tight security
Some 8,000 police and paramilitary forces will guard teams as they travel back and forth from Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium.
Roads and shops will be closed around the 27,000-capacity venue
spectators will have to pass through multiple security checkpoints
So why would 13 international players risk everything to travel to the same venue where the Sri Lankan team was ambushed several years ago? Perhaps this will explain:
performances will count in the calculation of individual rankings, ICC said in a statement.
So who are the international players who are willing to risk their lives and what are their current ICC test rankings ("None", if they are not currently in top 100)?

David Miller - None
Morne Morkel - None
Tim Paine - None
Thisara Perera - None
Imran Tahir - None
Darren Sammy - None
Hashim Amla - 8
Grant Elliott - None
Samuel Badree - None
George Bailey - None
Tamim Iqbal - 15
Paul Collingwood - None
Ben Cutting - None
Faf du Plessis(c) - 18

Most are "has been" players looking to improve their rankings and for a quick buck. Not sure why du Plessis is taking this risk.

Sukkur Hindus build a ghetto for safety.

Sukkur’s Hindus go high-rise to stay safe
high-rise buildings have mushroomed in prime localities including Queen’s Road and Barrage Road
The reason for the rise of the high-rise is simple: they signify safety. And safety is what the Hindu population of the area need.
Sukkur used to have 310 Hindu families till roughly 2007 but in the last ten years, the number has gone up to 2,600 families. The influx started in 2010 and continued till about 2013, specifically because kidnappings for ransom and other crimes reached epidemically high numbers.
Added to the fear of kidnappings was the fear of forced conversions. Every month, an estimated 20 or more Hindu girls are abducted and converted, says the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.
The Hindus were being targeted in the countryside outside Sukkur. They represented soft targets because Hindus are not part of (Muslim) tribes (Mahars, Jatois etc) and thus do not have powerful backing. They were also wealthy business people. Sukkur was considered comparatively safer for the Hindu families from Ghotki, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore-Kandhkot and other areas.
Besides moving to Sukkur, he said, many Hindu families also shifted their business here. “But there are still many Hindus who have their business in other cities and towns,” he added. Of course, the prime reason for this migration was the bad law and order situation in many parts of upper Sindh
The benefit of living in a high-rise flat is that guards can be posted at the bottom. Ironically, many of the builders are Hindus, who have garnered strong political backing from an influential politician in the city.
“As far as the Hindus are concerned, they like to live in the city along with their community and thus feel more safe than living on the outskirts of the city.”

X Posted from the Islamism thread.

Green on Green Intra-Mohammadden belief based violence sees Mohammaddens of the minority Shia sect and Hazara ethnic group yet again rouse the predatory instincts of fellow Mohammaddens of the majority Sunni sect in the Mohammadden Terrorist fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan:

Gunmen kill 4 minority Shiites in Pakistan

I am pretty sure that one will not see a smililar sized march of solidarity to condemn Green on Green Intra-Mohammadden belief inspired violence perpetrated against Mohammaddens of the Shia sect and Hazara ethnic group in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan simply because the slaughter was committed by fellow Sunni Mohammaddens and not as alleged by Kaafir Non-Mohammaddens, Buddhist Myanmarese in the below case:

Thousands march to show solidarity with Rohingya Muslims

I am also pretty certain that the Presidents of Sunni Mohammadden majority Turkey and the Mohammadden Terrorist fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan will not any time soon be discussing the plight of Shia Mohammaddens of Hazara ethnic origin simply because the slaughter was committed by fellow Sunni Mohammaddens and not as alleged by Kaafir Non-Mohammaddens, Buddhist Myanmarese in the below case

President Mamnoon, Erdogan discuss plight of Rohingya Muslims

Ganja's Former Henchman Plays "Devil's Advocate" On Behalf Of Paki Fauj !

Nothing to be gained from standoff with institutions: Nisar .
KARACHI: The most mercurial member of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s cabinet on Saturday stated categorically that no political objectives could be attained through confrontations with the judiciary or the military.“Better coordination with both the judiciary and military is the only option in the current situation, where conspiracies are being hatched against the country,” Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan told a private TV channel. In an interview with Saleem Safi of Geo News — the first part of which was aired on Saturday — the former interior minister said “paani sar ke bohat qareeb hai” (the tide has risen to dangerous levels) when asked if matters had come to a head. This Ex Minister has a brother in the Paki Fauj in a fairly high position; therefore stance is understandable !
Dawn reached out to several PML-N leaders for their reaction to Chaudhry Nisar’s remarks, but none of those contacted was willing to comment, saying they did not want to get entangled in controversy.

Beijing used BRICS summit to send its all-weather ally a message. Will The Friend Heed The Message Or Still Bury Its Head In The Sand

First Trump, then China: as Pakistan loses support, it should lose the pretence on cross-border terror, too
By Tom Hussain, South China Morning Post.

In 1992, when Pakistan first came under international diplomatic pressure to halt terrorist attacks on India emanating from its territory, Islamabad’s chief diplomat and the architect of its modern-day strategic alliance with China, Akram Zaki, told me: “Pakistan’s foreign policy is in a minefield without a map”. It still is.
By naming Pakistan-based terrorist groups in the declaration issued at the end of the BRICS leaders meeting in Xiamen on Monday, China has publicly reminded its all-weather ally that the time has come for it to put an end to its relationships with non-state actors. Pakistan did not "take seriously" the earlier -one on one - "suggestions" from "taller than mountain fliend", therefore message sent via BRICS !
Coming two weeks after US President Donald Trump issued a humiliating ultimatum to Islamabad, and ahead of a diplomatic support-seeking tour of Beijing, Moscow, Ankara and Tehran by Pakistani Foreign Minister Khawaja Mohammed Asif, the timing and multilateral context of the message is definitive. Again, in diplomacy 101; no "permanent friend", only permanent interests
China may be working overtime to help Pakistan negotiate a way out of a diplomatic dead end, in part to protect its multibillion-dollar “Belt and Road” investments, but the onus is on Islamabad to come to terms with the changing realities of Asian geopolitics.
The most daunting challenge for Pakistan is to come to terms with the folly of a self-defeating narrative ( which no one is "buying" !) which paints Afghanistan and India as bigger sponsors of cross-border terror than itself.
Nor does it help Pakistan that its almighty military leaders refuse to allow a constructive introspection of their dubious policies. They reacted vindictively when leading English-language newspaper Dawn last October cited Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry as telling a meeting of civil and military leaders that China had “indicated a preference for a change in course” of Pakistan’s handling of jihadist groups.
Rather than heed Chaudhry’s advice, the military accused the government of conspiring to humiliate it and forced then prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, to sack Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed for leaking the story. The newspaper was vilified as “anti-state” and social media activists critical of the military were disappeared and allegedly tortured. The "diplomatic dirty work" is left to the FO. The Fauj pulls the strings behind the back !
But it’s one thing to force a narrative down the throats of a captive domestic audience, another to expect foreign governments, friendly or otherwise, to buy into one. The uneducated ( in world affairs !) Aam Abduls lap up the narrative of the faujis, specially when presented with the Islami angle !
The falsehood of the narrative was exposed by the Xiamen declaration because its wording, rather than being a sudden change of China’s position, was a facsimile of the statement signed last December by all the participants of an India-hosted round of the “Heart of Asia” multilateral conference on Afghanistan, including China and Pakistan. The subsequent “rejection” of the BRICS declaration by Pakistani Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan on Tuesday was another bizarre example of how denial is undermining the credibility of Islamabad’s position.
Pakistan’s decisionmakers would do well to revisit the recommendations made by an army task force of three army colonels in 1990 to disarm militants returning from the Afghan jihad against Soviet occupation.
They were overruled and had to bear the brunt of the fateful decision. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani went on to serve as Pakistan’s army chief of staff for six years at the height of the Taliban insurgency. As chairman of Pakistan’s joint chiefs of staff, Tariq Majid had to endure the kidnapping of his son-in-law by terrorists. Both foresaw that jihadis would undermine the legitimacy of Pakistan’s campaign against Indian rule in disputed Kashmir, the centrepiece of its foreign policy. Pakistan’s present army chief of staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, now faces a similar choice. There may be some "cosmetic changes" but nothing on a strategic basis, unless some sort of an economic squeeze is applied !

Pakistan will be forced to stop cross-border firing: Rajnath

NAUSHERA BORDER (J&K): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday assured people living in border areas of the Jammu region that India was taking steps to ensure Pakistan was forced to stop firing.

"Just wait for some more time. Pakistan will forced to stop firing. If a single bullet is fired from Pakistan, then India should not count the bullets fired in retaliation," he told a rally of migrants from the Line of Control (LoC).

Over 5,000 people living along the LoC were forced to move out their homes in the Naushera sector of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir four months ago in the wake of heavy firing and shelling by Pakistan forces.

Singh said, "Whether they (Pakistan) stop firing today or tomorrow, they will have to stop firing and ceasefire violation."

Flanked by Union minister Jitendra Singh and J&K deputy chief minister Nirmal Singh, the home minister said after the 2014 ceasefire violations, he had told the BSF director general that no firing should be carried out from the Indian side as Pakistan was a neighbour.

"Don't fire first because Pakistan is our neighbour," he recalled as having said.

He said, "Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee used to always says that friends can be changed but not neighbours."

Singh said he had conveyed to the BSF DG that if a single bullet was fired from across the border, then bullets fired in retaliation by the Indian side should not be counted.

He said, "The situation was better to an extent. The situation is better now also. I hope that the situation in the future will better too."

The minister, who visited border camps and interacted with migrants including women and children, assured them that steps would be taken to mitigate their problems.

"Whatever is possible I will do. People across the country have great respect and regard for the residents of the border areas. People in the border areas are facing unnecessary problems," he said.

The minister said he had told the director general of border-guarding force Pakistan Ranger in 2015 that Pakistan was resorting to firing violating certain protocols which should be respected and followed.

"India is not a weak nation now. It has emerged as a powerful country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. No one in the world now considers India as a weak nation.

"The image and prestige of India has increased globally as compared to the past," he said.

Singh said after he took over as the home minister, the compensation paid to the next of the kin of people killed in cross-border firing was raised from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.

He also said that five India Reserve Battalions have been sanctioned for J-K and 60 per cent of recruitment for these should take place from the border areas.

The minister said that recruitment in paramilitary forces also would be undertaken from border areas.

The migrants, during their interaction with Singh, made a strong demand for setting up of "bunkers" at their homes along the LoC.

"Our first and foremost demand is that the government should set up bunkers in each of the border houses if we have to live again along the LoC. We need bunkers more than food," Jangarh resident Parshottam Kumar, the president of the Border Migrants Coordination Committee, told Singh.

The home minister visited one of the six camps set up in Noushera by the government for the migrants.

The sarpanch of Kalsian border hamlet Bahadur Choudhary said, "If we have bunkers in our homes, we will not leave our homes at all."

Naushera MLA Ravinder Raina demanded safer places for the LoC dewellers, besides waiver of loans.

Singh also visited BSF troops at a camp near the LoC here and said latest equipment was being inducted into the force for better and more effective domination of the border.

The latest tehnology would act as a force multiplier and also reduce the workload on the troops, he told BSF personnel.
He lauded the troops for guarding the border areas under adverse conditions.

Ummah Airline, Saudi Transports Paki (Haj) Pilgrims Like "Cattle" From Medina To Karachi.

Hajj Pilgrims forced to travel in flight with No Air-Conditioning
Hajj pilgrims returning from Saudia to Karachi were forced to travel in an airplane that had no working air-conditioning, reports Express News. That special Hajj flight SV-706 reportedly took off after a three hour delay. When the passengers finally boarded the plane, they found the air-conditioning system to be faulty. The crew of the air company re-assured them by falsely saying that the air conditions will turn on after the flight takes off. The passengers traveled in extreme heated conditions all the way to Karachi. SV-706 is the airplane route for the Saudi Airline flight from Medina to Karachi. Watch the passenger footage. Distressed Ayesha squatting in the aisle and being consoled by her Abdul. Passenger safety "gone to the dogs"
Aviation laws require flight directors and companies to land the plane to the nearest airport in case any medical assistance is required by any passenger. But ignoring this, the plane carried all passengers with a lack of air-conditioning without stopping at any nearby airport. When you don't pay "full rate" and want to do Haj on the cheap ie subsidized ", do not complain.!!!
Hajj pilgrims have started to return back to their homelands after performing the Hajj rituals. Pakistanis make the second largest group of Hajj pilgrims with a strength 128,000. ( I "smell" Sialkoti statistics here ; the total Indian Hajj Quota this year was 170,000; typical Paki boasting? ) Indonesia had the most amount of pilgrims going for Hajj with a strength of 221,000. :((

16 Years After 9/11, Doctor Who Helped Find Bin Laden Remains in Pakistan Prison
(CNSNews.com) – As the United States marks the 16th anniversary of al-Qaeda’s devastating attack, the Pakistani doctor who helped in the effort to track down Osama bin Laden six years ago remains imprisoned, despite efforts by U.S. lawmakers to condition U.S. aid on his freedom.
On Thursday. the Senate Appropriations Committee passed a FY 2018 spending bill which, once again, withholds $33 million in economic and security assistance to Pakistan until the secretary of state certifies “that Dr. Shakil Afridi has been released from prison and cleared of all charges relating to the assistance provided to the United States in locating Osama bin Laden.” The withheld amount deliberately points to the 33-year prison term to which Afridi was sentenced in May 2012. Symbolic message here. !!!
Pakistan’s then-interior minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, retorted that Pakistan was “not a colony” of the U.S., and dismissed U.S. aid to his country as “peanuts.”Since 2001 U.S. taxpayers have contributed more than $33 billion to Pakistan, either in direct aid or as reimbursements for counterterrorism efforts. Afridi’s imprisonment is one of a host of irritants in Washington’s uneasy relationship with the ostensible ally. In his recently-announced South Asia strategy, President Trump put Pakistan on notice over its troubling behavior, in particular its sheltering of terrorists.Afridi was reportedly one of the topics discussed when National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster met in Washington last April with Pakistan’s finance minister Ishaq Dar, acting in the capacity of an envoy for then-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
It was expected to feature again in an anticipated Trump-Sharif meeting on the sidelines of a U.S.-Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh the following month, but instead the two had just a brief handshake. (Sharif’s premiership ended abruptly in July when the Supreme Courtunder "instructions" from Deep State  disqualified him from office.)
One of Pakistan’s numerous critics on Capitol Hill, Rep. Ted Poe (R-Texas), raised Afridi’s plight once again on the House floor last June.“Pakistan claims to be United States’ number one counterterrorism ally, yet they hypocritically hold this hero in a Pakistani prison,” he said.Accusing Pakistan of being “on the wrong side” in the war on terror, Poe said Afridi deserved a medal, not imprisonment. American author, Seymour Hersh, in his book on Bin Laden has claimed that Afridi has been made a scapegoat by the Pakis because of his cooperating with the Americans , when in actual fact, it was an Ex ISI officer , who walked into the US Embassy in Isloo- to claim the huge reward money - and divulged some details about OBL . The report also suggested that the said officer and his family have been moved to Massaland - for their own safety - by the CIA/ Embassy and are living there under the Witness Protection Program :D

Ex Minister Ch. Nisar Appears To Be "Pitching" For The Paki Fauj , In His Latest Statement / Confrontation With Kh. Asif Foreign Minister.

Who needs an enemy after Kh Asif’s statement, asks Ch Nisar
LAHORE: Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar on Sunday said that the civil-military relationship crisis was blown out of proportion. Various terrorist groups had been working in India and Afghanistan but nobody had asked them to set their house right. So, he is one of those , who does not see the Fauj as a problem :D
In an interview to Saleem Safi in Geo News programme Jirga, he said that he had serious differences with Foreign Minister Khwaja Asif over his statement of “setting our own house right”. He said, “We don’t need an enemy after such a statement by our own foreign minister”.
He said that he views Maryam as his friend’s daughter but can't accept her as a political leader. Nisar said he is certain that he could continue to peacefully coexist with both Nawaz Sharif and his brother, Shahbaz, in the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N). IMO, his days as a "powerful" member of PML -N are numbered, either he will be expelled, or will resign and hitch his "musharaf" with another opportunistic political party
Responding to a question about his friendship with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, he said he has never unduly favoured PTI or Imran. "I was never included in the consultations about allowing the PTI to enter the red zone," he said. "It was a decision taken by the government which added to my differences with the party."
When asked about his opinion on the restoration of the sanctity of the vote, he said he firmly stands with Nawaz on this stance. :((
Nisar insisted, citing the example of the Turkish president who gained the public's support on the basis of performance. This "boasting Pakjabi" is a well known pontificator !
Talking about the civil-military relationship in Pakistan, he opined that mutual consultations can improve relations between the forces and civilian government. "Even if my brother is appointed as the army chief, he will act in favour of his institution," he said, emphasising that the army chief can never be a right-hand man of the government.
When asked about his support to the army, Nisar cited various incidents of speaking against the force each time it went against the policies of his government. However, the former minister opined that unnecessary confrontation with the army can weaken the country's position 'which is not suitable.' So, he was the Fauji mole in the civilian set- up
Responding to a question about the journey from Nawaz's 'troubleshooter' to his 'troublemaker' Nisar said, "I have only tried to resolve issues in the four years of our government." "The Dawn Leaks' initial investigation report was given by the army and IB," he said, :((
He said that he always presented policy matters to Nawaz directly but since some time he was deliberately being stopped from doing so, adding that he spoke in the Cabinet following the changing situation. It would not be a surprise if he defects to Imran's PTI !

Another Example Of "Cooking The Census Books"

Believe it or not: Pakistan has only less than a million citizens with disabilities
The Express Tribune

After the Transgender Numbers Fiasco, now it the turn of the disabled to "rise up " and contest the ridiculous figure of "less than a million".
The number of transgender population (just 10,418) was also unrealistic, as most of transgender persons avoided disclosing their status because of social stigma.
Sindh-based political parties raised objections on provisional results, maintaining that Karachi’s population was more than 20 million people.
In absolute terms, there were 3.2 million persons with disabilities in 1998. So, the disabled population has decreased, while the general numbers are skyrocketing due to "breeding like rabbits" . IMO, the whole census exercise was a "waste of time" and "manufactured in Sialkot" .They are outsourcing school building, teacher training, and other vital social sector programs to NGO and foreign govts due to "lack of funds" . Why not "outsource" this vital function to a non -partisan foreign agency who does not have a vested interest in "cooking the books"

Heart Burn And Burnoll Relief Recommended For Pakistan As Per Sushma-ji's Announcement.

Afghanistan suggests larger regional role for India, claims Sushma Swaraj
NEW DELHI – India agreed to enhance existing assistance to Afghan security forces, including in capacity building and training of Afghan soldiers in India, during a Partnership Council meeting on Monday, even as Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister suggested a larger role for India in regional diplomacy.
“We are glad India will continue to support our security forces in terms of equipment and training Afghan cadets in India,” Afghanistan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani told an Indian newspaper in an exclusive interview.
“We hope also that India, as a good friend of other countries in the region like Russia and Iran, can convince those countries to work with the Afghan government to support the peace process in Afghanistan,” he added.
Addressing journalists along with Mr. Rabbani at the conclusion of the Partnership Council meeting, the second such meeting since the Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) was signed in 2011, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said the strategic relationship is an “article of faith”.
The meeting was the first high-level engagement between India and Afghanistan since the announcement of a new ‘South Asia policy for Afghanistan’ by U.S. President Donald Trump, where he vowed to take tough action against Pakistan if it fails to crackdown on terror groups, a policy that was welcomed in both Kabul and New Delhi.
Afghanistan’s foreign minister asked India to expedite development of a strategic port ‘Chabahar’ in Iran to bolster a trade route for land-locked Central Asian countries that would bypass Pakistan. The port would allow India to transport goods to Afghanistan by sea. Pakistan currently does not allow India to transport through its territory to Afghanistan.
Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj responded that India would speed up the port development and begin supplying wheat to Afghanistan within weeks through Chabahar. We are seeing a complete meltdown of Paki Foreign Policy, since the appointment of the new ( and misogynist) FM

Proportionately More Pakis Will Be Deported From US As A Result Of Repealing DACA

More than 2800 Pakistanis will be deported from US as a result of repealing DACA
WASHINGTON: More than 2,800 Pakistanis and over 5,500 Indians will be affected by the repeal of an immigration programme that protected undocumented aliens, who were brought to the US as children, from deportation. "Sialkoti statistics" to give wrong impression that "more" Indians are affected , while in actual fact, proportionately more Pakis would have been shipped back due to "Pakistaniyat" ( India is five times more populous than Pakiland !)
“Currently, around 30,000 Asian-Americans, comprising over 5,500 Indians and over 2,800 Pakistanis have received DACA,” the report said, adding that India was in the top 10 countries for undocumented immigrants who meet DACA eligibility criteria.

I read a tweet which said it is Filipinos beating men. However, no reference or data to support was provided. In UAE if Filipinos do it they will be hit back. It is only possible in Pakistan, IMO.

Wrongly attributed to Chinese/Peshawar; it's from UAE and women are Filipinos.
1. They are selling salwar-kameez in a decrepit looking shop - not UAE
2. Men in shalwar Kameez not Arab tent dress
3. Men are speaking a language vaguely like Hindi - including words like "Video bandh" (36-37 sec). Not Arabic. Pashto

No way to prove or disprove what you are saying - however the video is older. It's entirely possible for this clothing to be sold in Dubai, by people who look like Afghans, Pathans or Pakis; and it's entirely possible for purchasers to be from Philippines; and it's entirely possible for the guy who shot the scene to speak in Hindi. The youtube link I sent is from 2016, and we have to take the info from that poster as face value unless some older version of the video emerges :-o

Not to say that this couldn't happen in Pakistan...

What's wrong with us. I knew that someone would post something contradicting the narrative that it is from pak.

Similar to the mind boggling analysis of the melee between Indian and Chinese troops. It was stated that we kicked their butts there. But, some one had to do a deeper analysis to figure out the sun position, the land marks etc. and come up with a contradicting version. Sheesh.

We all got it after the first explanation. But couldn't it have been left alone after Shiv saar's possible explanation?

X Posted from the Rohingya Menance thread.

Yet another Mohammadden journalist originating in the Mohammadden Terrorism fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Aasim Sajjad Akhtar, this time writing in an Op Ed in Dawn about writes sensible stuff about the hypocrisy prevalent in Mohammadden majority countries, this time the Islamic Republic itself, when dealing with the issue of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh who have been forced to flee Myanmar consequent to the terrorist violence unleashed on Non Mohammaddens in Myanmar’s Rakhine province by their ethno-religious compatriots in their name.

Continue to be dissapointed that political correctness has induced Non-Mohammadden Kaafirs slipping into Dhimmi mode and prevented them from coming up with more articles like this:
Muslim ‘solidarity’

Aasim Sajjad Akhtar
Updated September 08, 2017

THE Rohingyas of Myanmar are back on the front pages, their desperate plight confirming that the ‘civilised’ world of the 21st century is still a living hell for what the legendary anti-imperialist Frantz Fanon’s called “the wretched of the earth”. The spectre of hundreds of thousands of Rohingyas fleeing Myanmar into neighbouring Bangladesh is history repeating itself for the umpteenth time — evicted from their homes time and again, these permanent refugees have no place in a global order centred around exclusionary nation-states.

We Pakistanis have been bred on the notion that Muslims constitute an extra-territorial community of sorts; hence our solidarity with the Rohingyas and lament of their neglect by the rest of the (infidel) world. Our sentiments vis-à-vis other disenfranchised ‘Muslim’ communities are similar — Kashmiris top the list, but Bosnians, Palestinians and Chechens are also beneficiaries of our ‘Muslim’ solidarity. Standing with the oppressed is an entirely laudable endeavour. But in picking some instances of suffering and remaining shamefully silent on others, we demonstrate only how much hypocrisy supposedly civilised ‘nations’ are capable of.

The Kurds have been on the receiving end of Turkish and Iraqi state violence, but I can’t think of many Pakistanis whose hearts cry out for them (let alone state functionaries issuing press statements and civil society activists organising protests). West African communities like the Yoruba and Igbo too have been victims of state-sponsored pogroms across the territorial boundaries of Nigeria, Togo and Benin. Most Pakistanis have probably never even heard these names.

Closer to home, the (predominantly Hindu) Tamils of Sri Lanka are amongst the most oppressed minority communities in the world. But Pakistani officialdom’s close ties to the Sri Lankan state means there has always been silence when the latter has undertaken pogroms against Tamil populations. In 2008-9, a series of military operations in the north of Sri Lanka undertaken in the name of crushing the Tamil separatist movement — during which many humanitarian experts alleged war crimes took place — was actively supported by the Pakistani establishment and met with no ‘resistance’ from our ‘civil society’. Bred on standard Pakistani nationalist narratives, we justify silence over all these examples of state terror by serving up the religion card: they aren’t Muslims, so why should we care?

Cue more damning examples. Our ‘higher than the Himalayas, deeper than the deepest ocean’ friendship with China has mandated that we remain completely silent on the treatment of the Uighur ethnic minority that occupies the vast Xinjiang region bordering Pakistan to the north — and, which, even more significantly, China seeks to transform by building CPEC. The Uighur are Muslim, but there isn’t a hue and cry at the manner in which the Chinese state has suppressed their basic freedoms, and is now steadily facilitating the influx of ethnic Han Chinese into Xinjiang to fundamentally transform the region’s social mores.

In theory, a primary reason for Pakistan’s silence vis-à-vis the Uighurs is that there is a right-wing separatist movement raging in Xinjiang, and all ‘civilised’ states in today’s world ostensibly share the same position with regards to ‘terrorism’. But a separatist movement with deep historical roots within the Rohingya people is also active in the Rakhine state of Myanmar, and it is under the guise of defanging the ‘terrorists’ that the state has initiated its latest military incursion. The question, as ever, is why some forms of (armed) resistance to state persecution are considered ‘terrorism’ and others are not? As the example of the Uighur confirms, a certain community’s ‘Muslim’ credentials are not always enough for us to stand up for them.

Which brings me to the final — and most damning — point: what of state persecution within Pakistan? No one can deny the manner in which the state has usurped the freedoms of ethnic communities who have asserted their identity, claimed resources, and demanded a democratic power-sharing arrangement. Even today military ‘solutions’ are employed liberally within Pakistan to address what are clearly long-standing political conflicts. And the truth is that most of the Baloch, Sindhi, Pakhtun and other ethnic communities that demand their rights and are criminalised in exchange are very much Muslim.

So are the Afghans and at least 200 million of the Indians with whom we cultivate perennial enmity. So let us be clear that, rhetoric aside, we do not stand with Muslims everywhere — our expressions of solidarity are opportunistic and contradictory. It would be much better to stand with the ‘wretched of the earth’ everywhere, and stop victimising the most vulnerable ourselves — look no further than the way we treat Christians, Hindus and other ‘non-Muslims’.

Malala Yousafzai went on record to question why Aung San Suu Kyi was silent over the treatment of the Rohingyas. I say people in glass houses should not throw stones.

The writer teaches at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad.

‘Wildly exaggerated’: Senate panel rejects findings of WHO
During a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Science and Technology presided over by its chairman Senator Osman Saifullah Khan, the officials of Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) insisted that the journal ‘Advance Sciences’ data are ‘wildly exaggerated’.
The officials also informed the committee members that Pakistan followed its own standard of measuring arsenic in water. They also informed the committee members that the concerned authorities had closed 200 points that were manufacturing bottled water which was highly contaminated and posed serious health risks. It may be understandable that the sample may not be representative of the whole population. But the Senate Standing Committee needs to give a measured response , not emotional outburst ( like the political proclaimations that there are no "terrorist groups in Pakistan !) to save the H&D of Pakiland

I suppose the Clapistani Senate Standing Committee on Science and Technology presided over by its chairman Senator Osman Saifullah Khan, the officials of Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) does not realize that this news is also from the Magazine of the Smithsonian Institute!

However, one must not forget Clapistanis are Clap!

Pakistan has no locus standi to talk about refugees and how other nations should take them and proide them succour.

It refused to take back its own citizens, the Bihari Muslims, from Bangladesh. They had after all even colluded with the Pakistani Army and they speak Urdu. They left them to languish for decades in squalid & inhuman conditions in a hostile land (one can't blame the hostility and negligence from successive Bangladeshi governments). Nothing surprising for a country that refuses to take back bodies of its own soldiers and terrorists for fear that it would be exposed.

Pakistan often cites its hosting of Afghani refugees to claim a moral superiority. But, that is as fraudulent as anything that Pakistan says or does. Pakistan is forced by circumstances and also its own duplicity. Firstly, it had no means to check the porous borders and stop the refugees. In fact, it has no sovereignty over these border lands. Secondly, the flow of refugees was due to the terror policies of Pakistan in order to convert poor Kabul into its 'strategic depth'. It forced the terrible internecine civil war in c. 1991 after the Geneva Agreement that led to an exodus. Thirdly, the pashtunwali code on either side of the border allows hosting refugees and Pakistan sensed no forcible eviction was possible. Fourthly, the FATA area where the refugees have been hosted belongs anyway to Afghanistan; it is Pakistan that has violently and forcibly occupied these lands. So, in effect, the displaced Afghan are not refugees in Pakistan. Fifthly, the Pakistani aim is to make money out of the Afghan refugees by demanding other countries, especially the US, to contribute generously which of course they promptly pocketed. Lastly, and quite importantly, the refugees were used to create the Taliban to serve the Pakistani agenda which has brought the region to the precipice that it is today.

Al Bakistan was created by a newspaper? Read on...

Dawn Delhi III: The emergence of Quaid-i-Azam
The greatest contribution of Dawn to the creation of Pakistan was in helping to create [Mohammad Ali] Jinnah as the charismatic figure of the Quaid-i-Azam, constantly publicising the League’s activities and the demand for Pakistan.
Dawn was, above all, the means by which Jinnah became firmly established as the Quaid-i-Azam, the ‘Great Leader’, the charismatic leader of the Muslims of South Asia.
One part of this campaign to elevate Jinnah to the same stature as Gandhi was to surround him with Muslim dignitaries whenever he made a public appearance, however mundane the event, where his pronouncements would be faithfully recorded by Dawn.
Without victory in the general elections Pakistan would never have been created...Dawn would play a central role and shift into overdrive in reporting on the elections and all those who were involved.
On September 22, 1945, Liaquat Ali Khan took one of his many trips to Aligarh Muslim University to mobilise the students of the University for the coming campaign by asking them to give up their studies for a period of time and to campaign for the League. Dawn reported the speech in full as the lead story in its issue of three days later under the headlines, ‘Avoid Dark And Gloomy Future’ and ‘Time May Come For Supreme Sacrifice’.
It was a message that Dawn took loud and clear to many parts of India and students responded to in droves...This was one measure of the effectiveness of Dawn in spreading the League’s message.
In the same way that Congressites paid pilgrimage to Gandhi in his ashram so too Dawn recorded all of the visits made to Jinnah by figures great and small, but special attention was paid to visits paid by politicians in the areas claimed for Pakistan: Bengal, Punjab, the NWFP, Balochistan and Sindh.
By reporting these visits Dawn played an important role in enhancing the importance of Jinnah in the nation’s politics. In a quite remarkable manner Jinnah, whose small political base was in Bombay, had made himself, and been made, into the most important Muslim political leader in India.
The brits, ever ready to close down newspapers, never banned or warned Dawn.

Indian wants to sabotage CPEC: Ahsan Iqbal
Which Indian?
Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Tuesday said Pakistan was effectively pursuing Kulbhushan Yadev’s case in an international court because it is a proof of India’s intentions to sabotage China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) through terrorism.
CPEC is the result of unprecedented friendship between China and Pakistan. “Nobody can reverse it, it will succeed at any cost,” said he.
He said China stood by Pakistan whenever Islamabad it faced difficulties and gave the world a message with the investment of 46 billion dollars (w)hen nobody was prepared to give even 10 dollars.
Commenting on the arrest of highly educated terrorists in recent raids, he said it was a dangerous trend and stressed the need to spread awareness among youth...“We don’t need youths who indulge in terrorism and kill policemen, we need youth who win Nobel prize,” said he. We need more malalalalas

Flour mill in Peshawar was being used as Daesh HQ
A flour mill in the suburbs of the provincial capital where two key militants were killed during an encounter in June was functioning as the headquarters of Daesh for the last many months, a source said.
The source said that the flour mill that had been abandoned for the last 15 years was also being used for issuing press releases and other literature of Daesh.

Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - June 20, 2017

Brics declaration to lead to more action against Pak-based terror groups: Russia

NEW DELHI: Russia has hailed the Xiamen Brics declaration and its naming of Pakistan-based terror groups as a victory for countries concerned about terrorism in the region.

Despite it being seen as defending Pakistan from pressure exerted on the latter by the US on the issue, Moscow's position on Islamabad has been quite nuanced as official sources here confirmed Russia worked actively with Beijing to convince it to drop its opposition to name-checking Pakistan based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohamed (JeM).

The naming of these terror groups was seen by Indian officials as a major diplomatic breakthrough in Xiaman as Beijing had stalled all such attempts by both Russia and India during last Brics summit in Goa.

"We see the declaration and the naming of terror groups as an important breakthrough for countries who share concerns on terrorism in the region and we expect it to lead to more concrete action against such terrorist organisations," said a top Russian diplomat here, Sergey Karmalito, to TOI.

After the naming of Jaish in the Brics declaration, which is an accused in both Pathankot and Uri terror attacks of 2016, the next logical step for India is to also get its chief Maulana Masod Azhar proscribed by the UN. China has continued to block all attempts to include Azhar in the UNSC sanctions list despite the fact that the organisation he continues to helm is blacklisted by the same Security Council.

Indian officials are now hoping that Moscow will be of help to India in convincing Beijing to give up its opposition to the ban on Azhar too. According to diplomatic sources, Moscow is of the view that on the limited issue of Azhar, China may in the near future come round to India's view that a ban on Azhar will indeed be a positive step in the fight against terrorism.
"Beijing knows it has limited bargaining power with Azhar. NSG (Nuclear Suppliers Group) and CPEC of course are different issues," said a source who did not wish to be quoted.

India's foreign minister Sushma Swaraj had earlier this year publicly appealed to Russia to convince China to support India's NSG membership+ bid but Moscow is not hopeful of a breakthrough anytime soon. However, while there are concerns here about Moscow's attempts to engage Taliban in the Afghanistan peace process, Russia is also trying to involve India more in that process.

This is evident from the fact, as sources said, from a proposal by Moscow that President Vladimir Putin's special envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov visit India soon. The visit could take place as early as October this year.

Kabulov is not the most popular Russian figure in India with some of his comments on peace and stability in the region seen here as a sign of Russia's growing strategic embrace of Islamabad. After President Trump attacked Pakistan while announcing his new Afghanistan policy, Kabulov responded by saying that putting pressure on Pakistan would only further destabilise the region.

While Kabulov recently denied allegations by the US that Russia was supplying military aid to the Taliban, he also said that there was a stalemate in Kabul's conflict with Taliban and that in this situation it was necessary ``to make the most active efforts to search for ways to launch the intra-Afghan dialogue." With the Taliban now controlling almost 45 per cent of Afghan territory, Moscow believes it is impossible to keep them out of any dialogue for sustainable peace in the country

Pakis cannot outgrow their medieval tendencies of plundering and ransom-taking, and more recently, begging. It's in their DNA from the time of Mohammad bin Qasim. Rather than build something of their own, they would try to loot what someone else has built, and this defines success. If unable to loot, they will destroy and that is part-way success.

"Fake Doctor"/ Islami TV Anchor "Doctor" Amir Liaquat Reaches Pakiland After Deportation. !

Amir Liaquat deported to Pakistan after being refused entry in Myanmar
Renowned Pakistani host Amir Liaquat made headlines after he was detained at Yangon airport on Saturday in Myanmar. Liaquat had travelled to Myanmar to show support and help Rohingya Muslims who are currently facing severe oppression.Reports confirmed that Liaquat had boarded Yangon-bound flight from Bangkok, Thailand along with Waqar Zaka – another TV anchorperson. However, later Liaqat tweeted Shameless use of Western ( Kaffir) Technology in the cause of Malsi  ) about immense difficulties that he faced at immigration upon reaching Yangon.
Yesterday in a tweet, Amir Liaquat confirmed that he had been detained by Myanmar authorities for nearly six hours. ( What about the Paki Embassy. Not there to "save" the Islami Anchor  )
Later, the two were deported back. Bol News on Sunday night confirmed that Amir Liaquat had returned to Pakistan safely.According to media reports, the news channel also confirmed that Amir Liaquat was on an official visit to Myanmar to cover the atrocities faced by the Rohingya Muslims. Stir up the "Rohingyas Boiling Pot" to jack up "ratings" for BOL
