Rohingya Muslims flee as more than 2,600 houses burned in Myanmar's Rakhine

Image

COX‘S BAZAR, Bangladesh: More than 2,600 houses have been burned down in Rohingya-majority areas of Myanmar’s northwest in the last week, the government said on Saturday, in one of the deadliest bouts of violence involving the Muslim minority in decades.

About 58,600 Rohingya have fled into neighbouring Bangladesh from Myanmar, according to U.N. refugee agency UNHCR, as aid workers there struggle to cope.

Myanmar officials blamed the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) for the burning of the homes. The group claimed responsibility for coordinated attacks on security posts last week that prompted clashes and a large army counter-offensive.

But Rohingya fleeing to Bangladesh say a campaign of arson and killings by the Myanmar army is aimed at trying to force them out.

The treatment of Myanmar’s roughly 1.1 million Rohingya is the biggest challenge facing leader Aung San Suu Kyi, accused by Western critics of not speaking out for the Muslim minority that has long complained of persecution.

Image
Broken dishes can be seen in the burned out remains of a house in Myo Thu Gyi Muslim village where houses were burnt to the ground near Maungdaw town in northern Rakhine State on August 31, 2017.

Former colonial power Britain said on Saturday it hoped Suu Kyi would use her “remarkable qualities” to end the violence.

“Aung San Suu Kyi is rightly regarded as one of the most inspiring figures of our age, but the treatment of the Rohingya is, alas, besmirching the reputation of Burma,” foreign minister Boris Johnson said in a statement.

The clashes and army crackdown have killed nearly 400 people and more than 11,700 “ethnic residents” have been evacuated from the area, the government said, referring to the non-Muslim residents.

It marks a dramatic escalation of a conflict that has simmered since October, when a smaller Rohingya attack on security posts prompted a military response dogged by allegations of rights abuses.

“A total of 2,625 houses from Kotankauk, Myinlut and Kyikanpyin villages and two wards in Maungtaw were burned down by the ARSA extremist terrorists,” the state-run Global New Light of Myanmar said. The group has been declared a terrorist organisation by the government.

But Human Rights Watch, which analysed satellite imagery and accounts from Rohingya fleeing to Bangladesh, said the Myanmar security forces deliberately set the fires.“New satellite imagery shows the total destruction of a Muslim village, and prompts serious concerns that the level of devastation in northern Rakhine state may be far worse than originally thought,” said the group’s deputy Asia director, Phil Robertson.

FULL CAPACITY

Near the Naf river separating Myanmar and Bangladesh, new arrivals in Bangladesh carrying their belongings in sacks set up crude tents or tried to squeeze into available shelters or homes of locals.

“The existing camps are near full capacity and numbers are swelling fast. In the coming days there needs to be more space,” said UNHCR regional spokeswoman Vivian Tan, adding more refugees were expected.

The Rohingya are denied citizenship in Myanmar and regarded as illegal immigrants, despite claiming roots that date back centuries. Bangladesh is also growing increasingly hostile to Rohingya, more than 400,000 of whom live in the poor South Asian country after fleeing Myanmar since the early 1990s.

Jalal Ahmed, 60, who arrived in Bangladesh on Friday with a group of about 3,000 after walking from Kyikanpyin for almost a week, said he believed the Rohingya were being pushed out of Myanmar.

“The military came with 200 people to the village and started fires...All the houses in my village are already destroyed. If we go back there and the army sees us, they will shoot,” he said.

Reuters could not independently verify these accounts as access for independent journalists to northern Rakhine has been restricted since security forces locked down the area in October.

Speaking to soldiers, government staff and Rakhine Buddhists affected by the conflict on Friday, army chief Min Aung Hlaing said there is no “oppression or intimidation” against the Muslim minority and “everything is within the framework of the law”.

“The Bengali problem was a long-standing one which has become an unfinished job,” he said, using a term used by many in Myanmar to refer to the Rohingya that suggests they come from Bangladesh.

Many aid programmes running in northern Rakhine prior to the outbreak of violence, including life-saving food assistance by the World Food Programme (WFP), have been suspended since the fighting broke out.

“Food security indicators and child malnutrition rates in Maungdaw were already above emergency thresholds before the violence broke out, and it is likely that they will now deteriorate even further,” said Pierre Peron, spokesman for the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Myanmar.

More than 80,000 children may need treatment for malnutrition in northern Rakhine and many of them reported “extreme” food insecurity, WFP said in July.

In Bangladesh, Tan of UNHCR said more shelters and medical care were needed. “There’s a lot of pregnant women and lactating mothers and really young children, some of them born during the flight. They all need medical attention,” she said.

Among new arrivals, 22-year-old Tahara Begum gave birth to her second child in a forest on the way to Bangladesh.

“It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” she said.

Islamism & Islamophobia Abroad - News & Analysis (9-8-2014)

Post by Peregrine »

Mods : I think the Rohingyas Problem in India is going to be an EXPLOSIVE One. As such would request a "Rohingya" Dedicated Thread.

At the start it must be emphasized that there are Fifty and More Islamic Countries in our World. Why do Muslims Refugees from ALL MUSLIM COUNTRIES and a few Non-Muslim Countries SEEK AND BE GRANTED REFUGE IN ISLAMIC MAJORITY COUNTRIES rather then burden the Non-Muslim Majority Countries? THESE MUSLIM REFUGEES ESPECIALLY FROM NON-MUSLIM MAJORITY COUNTRIES DEMAND SHARIA LAW AND ALL OTHER "ISLAMIC" FACILITIES. After all NO MUSLIM MAJORITY COUNTRY WILL GRANT REFUGE TO NON-MUSLIMS. IN ADDITION AN OVERWHELMING NUMBER OF MUSLIM MAJORITY COUNTRIES KEEP ON PROSECUTING NON-MUSLIMS AND FORCE THEM TO EITHER CONVERT TO ISLAM OR GET OUT OF THE MUSLIM MAJORITY COUNTRIES. :x :(

Why India is refusing refuge to Rohingyas

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has sought to know government's stand on a plea challenging its plan to deport Rohingya refugees. India has for decades sheltered people fleeing conflict and disaster, though it is not signatory to any pacts obligating it to offer refuge. Here, a look at the Rohingyas' desperate situation:

WHO ARE ROHINGYAS

1. Myanmar has not recognised the Rohingya among its 135 ethnic groups under a 1982 citizenship Act.
2. The Myanmar government terms them 'Bengali' to paint the Muslim minority in Rakhine state as recent migrants from Bangladesh.
3. In Myanmar, the word Rohingya is taboo.

ROHINGYAS IN NUMBERS

1. There are about 10 lakhs Rohingyas in Myanmar.
2. About 1.23 lakh have fled to Bangladesh since August 25.
3. There are abput 40,000 Rohingya in Jammu, Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, Haryana, UP and Rajasthan.

INDIA HAS NO REFUGEE LAW

1. India is not a signatory to 1951 UN refugee convention, or its 1967 Protocol
2. The government decides asylum pleas on ad hoc and case-to-case basis
3. Asylum-seekers whose plea is okayed are given long-term visa (LTV) to be renewed annually
4. Long-term visa gives them right to work in private sector and access to education and banking

BUT, INDIA HAS OPENED ITS DOORS TO REFUGEES

1. Tibetans, the Chakmas of Bangladesh, Afghans and ethnic Tamil from Sri Lanka are among those given refuge in India.
2. Tibetans (about 1L) got asylum. Can take land on lease and seek jobs in the private sector
3. Tamil refugees, mostly in Tamil Nadu, numbering about a lakh get state government aid
4. In 2016, the Modi government allowed Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan to buy property for self-living, obtain driving licences, receive PAN and Aadhaar IDs, etc.

WHY GOVT PLANS TO DEPORT ROHINGYAS

MoS Home Kiren Rijiju has said India wants to deport all illegal immigrants even those with UNHCR papers because...
1. Immigrants are susceptible to recruitment by "terror" groups
2. They "not only infringe on rights of Indian citizens but also pose grave security challenges"
3. Influx of migrants also leads to social, political and cultural problems
4. The idea to "ensure the demographic pattern of India is not disturbed"

THERE'S A PROBLEM IN DEPORTING ROHINGYAS

1. India has said it is talking with Bangladesh and Myanmar about deportation.
2. Myanmarese laws have rendered Rohingyas stateless, hence they are left with no 'home' to return to.

UN URGES INDIA TO FOLLOW 'CUSTOMARY LAW'

1. The 'principle of nonrefoulement' is binding on all states whether they have signed UN's refugee convention or not

2. The customary law says refugees cannot be forcibly returned to a place where they face persecution or threats to their life or freedom

SC TO HEAR PLEA ON DEPORTATION OF ROHINGYAS

The government's plan was challenged in SC, the next hearing is on September

I have started a thread. I believe it should be here in the Strat Forum, not behind the Burka... because it can serve as a valuable resource to the general public as well. Please move Rohingya-related posts there, and continue to contribute there.

Now Sharia- Compliant Chocolates ( AKA "Halal" Chocolates  )

Has Godiva Chocolate Converted to Islam Under Erdogan's Influence?
Godiva, the luxury chocolate company founded in Belgium more than 90 years ago, is one of world’s best-known chocolate brands. Less well known is that it’s now fully owned by a Turkish company that has raised eyebrows by ending the Belgian legend's production of chocolates containing alcohol.
Godiva, founded in Brussels in 1926 by Pierre Draps, was named after Lady Godiva, the Englishwoman who, according to legend, rode naked through the streets of Coventry to pressure her husband, the earl of Mercia, to lower the onerous taxes he had imposed.
After more than three decades in which Godiva chocolates were only available in Belgium, the company opened its first store abroad in Paris in 1958. The following decade it crossed the Atlantic to New York.
The buyer, who paid $850 million, was the Turkish holding company Yildiz, which also owns the Turkish food conglomerate Ulker. Yildiz has expanded Godiva even further, and today the company has some 600 stores in about 100 countries.
Recently, journalists from the Belgian media group Sudpresse discovered that in April, Godiva’s Turkish managers secretly decided to liquidate all production lines for chocolates containing alcohol. This mainly affects Godiva’s pralines, which contain various flavors of liqueur. “Is this a step intended to find favor in the eyes of the Muslim public?” the Belgian paper La Libre asked on Sunday. Medias-Presse.Info, a far-right website, added: “Has Godiva decided to adapt itself to Koranic principles?” Truth be told, this is all "Islamic window dressing", IMO. Can anybody imagine that "eating chocolates" is halal, when "The Book", clearly "discourages" or "does not recommend" even more innocent "activities" like listening to music, or playing chess . A Fatwa is needed from the Ivory Towers Of Malsi ( Al- Azhar, Qum, Saudi Mullahs or Binora ) as to the haram or halal of eating chocolates. If the Turkish owners were hoping that the purchase of this iconic brand would get them an entrance in the EU, they are sadly mistaken

Kuwaiti man, 3 women sent back to Dubai for refusing to lift veil at Delhi airport
A Kuwaiti national and three women travelling with him were sent back to Dubai from Delhi airport on Monday, after the man refused to unveil the faces of the women and created a ruckus at the immigration counter.
Police was called as the passenger tried to damage the immigration counter.“The male passenger was probably drunk as initially he even refused to fill the immigration form. After immigration officials managed to convince him, he refused to take off the burqa of female passengers accompanying him for face identification. When the matter could not be resolved for hours, the immigration officials decided to send them back,” said a source at the airport. The Kuwaitis are considered to be the "most arrogant" Arabs. They need to be shown that their "dadagiri" does not work here
The incident took place at around 9 pm when the passenger arrived from Dubai by Emirates flight. As he reached the immigration counter, the officer on duty asked him to fill the form.
“He got angry and refused to fill the form. He even abused the official and Indian system. While the officials were trying to pacify him, another passenger, who had arrived from Bangkok, also requested him to fill the form. Instead of listening to the other passenger, the Kuwaiti national entered into an argument with him. The passenger from Bangkok slapped him,” the official added.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was also called as the incident was turning violent. They brought the matter under control and asked the passenger, who had come from Bangkok to leave and convinced the Kuwaiti to fill the form.
“He filled the immigration form but the women refused to unveil their faces for face identification. Female Immigration officers were called but even then he they did not cooperate. All of them started abusing immigration officials and tried to damage the counter,” he added. At this point police was called and they were deported back to Dubai.

"Qurbani" On The Streets Of Massaland

Police seek guidance after parking lot sheep slaughter
BISMARCK, N.D. — A religious slaughter of a sheep in town Friday morning led Bismarck Police to request an opinion for future, similar matters.
Lt. Steven Scheuer said officers, including animal control, responded to a report of a sheep being killed in a common parking area for apartments on the 2500 block of North Eighth Street. Police spoke with the man and woman there who were performing a ceremony in accordance with their Muslim faith, according to Scheuer. "Political correctness" gone too far IMHO :x
The couple will not face charges, but police sent the report to the Bismarck city attorney's office for guidance, Scheuer said."We want to be respectful of people's religious beliefs, but we also want to consider the environment that this is in," Scheuer said. Now wait for the inevitable backlash from Joe Six Pack
Assistant city attorney Jason Hammes said no specific ordinance or health code provision appeared to be violated.
"I didn't see anything on this that jumped out as over-the-top disorderly," said Hammes, adding that a bigger issue would be if the live sheep had been kept in town as livestock, including poultry, beef and sheep, are not allowed in city limits. Awareness of related ordinances and health codes would also benefit similar situations as this, Hammes said.Muslims celebrated Eid al-Adha on Friday, a holy time of sacrifice. Worshipers observe Eid al-Adha with prayer and the sacrifice of animals, such as goats and sheep.

Mohammadden belief thought leader Yahya Cholil Staquf, who is general secretary of the Nahdlatul Ulama, Indonesias biggest Mohammadden belief based organisation, says “Western politicians should stop pretending that extremism and terrorism have nothing to do with Islam. There is a clear relationship between fundamentalism, terrorism, and the basic assumptions of Islamic orthodoxy”.

Let me hope this is a case of a genuine albeit belated recognition among some adherents of Mohammaddenism of the need to curb the unacceptably high level of Mohammadden belief inspired violence plaguing the world and not some adept demonstration of the Mohammadden dissimulation doctine of Taqiyyah to gull credulous Non-Mohammaddens Kaafirs and dilute self preservative actions of Kaafirs in the face of violence being perpetrated by some adherents of Mohammaddenism.

Indonesia, the world’s biggest Muslim-majority country, has a constitution that recognizes other major religions, and practices a syncretic form of Islam that draws on not just the faith’s tenets but local spiritual and cultural traditions. As a result, the nation has long been a voice of, and for, moderation in the Islamic world.

Yet Indonesia is not without its radical elements. Though most are on the fringe, they can add up to a significant number given Indonesia’s 260-million population. In the early 2000s, the country was terrorized by Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), a homegrown extremist organization allied with al-Qaeda. JI’s deadliest attack was the 2002 Bali bombing that killed 202 people. While JI has been neutralized, ISIS has claimed responsibility for recent, smaller terrorist incidents in the country and has inspired some Indonesians to fight in Syria — Indonesians who could pose a threat when they return home. The country has also seen the rise of hate groups that preach intolerance and violence against local religious and ethnic minorities, which include Shia and Ahmadiya Muslims.

Among Indonesia’s most influential Islamic leaders is Yahya Cholil Staquf, 51, general secretary of the Nahdlatul Ulama, which, with about 50 million members, is the country’s biggest Muslim organization. Yahya, who advocates a modern, moderate Islam, recently spoke with the Jakarta-based German academic and correspondent Marco Stahlhut about his religion, radicalism, and the West. The interview, notable for Yahya’s candor, was first published on Aug. 19 in German in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Here are excerpts translated from the original Bahasa Indonesia into English by Stahlhut and provided by him.

Many Western politicians and intellectuals say that Islamist terrorism has nothing to do with Islam. What is your view?

Western politicians should stop pretending that extremism and terrorism have nothing to do with Islam. There is a clear relationship between fundamentalism, terrorism, and the basic assumptions of Islamic orthodoxy. So long as we lack consensus regarding this matter, we cannot gain victory over fundamentalist violence within Islam.

Radical Islamic movements are nothing new. They’ve appeared again and again throughout our own history in Indonesia. The West must stop ascribing any and all discussion of these issues to “Islamophobia.” Or do people want to accuse me — an Islamic scholar — of being an Islamophobe too?

What basic assumptions within traditional Islam are problematic?

The relationship between Muslims and non-Muslims, the relationship of Muslims with the state, and Muslims’ relationship to the prevailing legal system wherever they live … Within the classical tradition, the relationship between Muslims and non-Muslims is assumed to be one of segregation and enmity.

Perhaps there were reasons for this during the Middle Ages, when the tenets of Islamic orthodoxy were established, but in today’s world such a doctrine is unreasonable. To the extent that Muslims adhere to this view of Islam, it renders them incapable of living harmoniously and peacefully within the multi-cultural, multi-religious societies of the 21st century.

A Western politician would likely be accused of racism for saying what you just said.

I’m not saying that Islam is the only factor causing Muslim minorities in the West to lead a segregated existence, often isolated from society as a whole. There may be other factors on the part of the host nations, such as racism, which exists everywhere in the world. But traditional Islam — which fosters an attitude of segregation and enmity toward non-Muslims — is an important factor.

And Muslims and the state?

Within the Islamic tradition, the state is a single, universal entity that unites all Muslims under the rule of one man who leads them in opposition to, and conflict with, the non-Muslim world.

So the call by radicals to establish a caliphate, including by ISIS, is not un-Islamic?

No, it is not. [ISIS’s] goal of establishing a global caliphate stands squarely within the orthodox Islamic tradition. But we live in a world of nation-states. Any attempt to create a unified Islamic state in the 21st century can only lead to chaos and violence ... Many Muslims assume there is an established and immutable set of Islamic laws, which are often described as shariah. This assumption is in line with Islamic tradition, but it of course leads to serious conflict with the legal system that exists in secular nation-states.

Any [fundamentalist] view of Islam positing the traditional norms of Islamic jurisprudence as absolute [should] be rejected out of hand as false. State laws [should] have precedence.

How can that be accomplished?

Generations ago, we achieved a de facto consensus in Indonesia that Islamic teachings must be contextualized to reflect the ever-changing circumstances of time and place. The majority of Indonesian Muslims were — and I think still are — of the opinion that the various assumptions embedded within Islamic tradition must be viewed within the historical, political and social context of their emergence in the Middle Ages [in the Middle East] and not as absolute injunctions that must dictate Muslims’ behavior in the present … Which ideological opinions are “correct” is not determined solely by reflection and debate. These are struggles [about who and what is recognized as religiously authoritative]. Political elites in Indonesia routinely employ Islam as a weapon to achieve their worldly objectives.

Is it so elsewhere too?

Too many Muslims view civilization, and the peaceful co-existence of people of different faiths, as something they must combat. Many Europeans can sense this attitude among Muslims.

There’s a growing dissatisfaction in the West with respect to Muslim minorities, a growing fear of Islam. In this sense, some Western friends of mine are “Islamophobic.” They’re afraid of Islam. To be honest, I understand their fear … The West cannot force Muslims to adopt a moderate interpretation of Islam. But Western politicians should stop telling us that fundamentalism and violence have nothing to do with traditional Islam. That is simply wrong.

They don’t want to foster division in their societies between Muslims and non-Muslims, nor contribute to intolerance against Muslims.

I share this desire — that’s a primary reason I’m speaking so frankly. But the approach you describe won’t work. If you refuse to acknowledge the existence of a problem, you can’t begin to solve it. One must identify the problem and explicitly state who and what are responsible for it.

Who and what are responsible?

Over the past 50 years, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states have spent massively to promote their ultra-conservative version of Islam worldwide. After allowing this to go unchallenged for so many decades, the West must finally exert decisive pressure upon the Saudis to cease this behavior ... I admire Western, especially European, politicians. Their thoughts are so wonderfully humanitarian. But we live in a time when you have to think and act realistically.

The last time I was in Brussels I witnessed some Arab, perhaps North African, youth insult and harass a group of policemen. My Belgian friends remarked that such behavior has become an almost everyday occurrence in their country. Why do you allow such behavior? What kind if impression does that make? Europe, and Germany in particular, are accepting massive numbers of refugees. Don’t misunderstand me: of course you cannot close your eyes to those in need. But the fact remains that you’re taking in millions of refugees about whom you know virtually nothing, except that they come from extremely problematic regions of the world.

I would guess that you and I agree that there is a far right wing in Western societies that would reject even a moderate, contextualized Islam.

And there's an extreme left wing whose adherents reflexively denounce any and all talk about the connections between traditional Islam, fundamentalism and violence as de facto proof of Islamophobia. This must end. A problem that is not acknowledged cannot be solved.

"Saved" Indian Muslim Women Returns Back From Saudia With A Harrowing Tale !

Indian woman ‘beaten up, sexually harassed’ in Saudi Arabia returns to Hyderabad
A woman hailing from Hyderabad, who was allegedly tortured, beaten up and sexually harassed by her employer in Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh, has been brought back home safely. This comes closely a month after her sister requested external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj to bring her back. The woman, Humera Begum, speaking about the ordeals, told ANI that she was beaten up by her employers. “I was in a lot of trouble there. I was not even given food. They tortured me and beat me up. They didn’t let me talk to my sister back home. They did things like holding my hand when I served them food,” she said. “I want to thank the Indian embassy that helped me a lot and brought me here,” she said. Thanking the authorities for bringing her back, Humera said around 15 more women were still there in the same condition, trying to escape, but were unable to find a source to do so.
Humera returned to India with the help of Sushma Swaraj and protector general of emigrants MC Luther. In August, Humera’s sister sought Swaraj’s help to rescue her. Humera went to Riyadh on July 23, believing the promises of an agent, named Sayeed, who said she would get an opportunity to do umrah there. Umrah is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca that can be undertaken any time of the year, unlike haj which has specific dates.Humera said she was told by the agent that she would also have to work as a caretaker of a small family, on a monthly salary of Rs. 25,000. Such incidents are becoming too frequent . And the GOI needs to be a policy of some sort to caution these potential victims !

Green on Green Intra-Mohammadden belief based violence sees Mohammaddens of the minority Shia sect and Hazara ethnic group yet again rouse the predatory instincts of fellow Mohammaddens of the majority Sunni sect in the Mohammadden Terrorist fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan:

Gunmen kill 4 minority Shiites in Pakistan

I am pretty sure that one will not see a smililar sized march of solidarity to condemn Green on Green Intra-Mohammadden belief inspired violence perpetrated against Mohammaddens of the Shia sect and Hazara ethnic group in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan simply because the slaughter was committed by fellow Sunni Mohammaddens and not as alleged by Kaafir Non-Mohammaddens, Buddhist Myanmarese in the below case:

I am also pretty certain that the Presidents of Sunni Mohammadden majority Turkey and the Mohammadden Terrorist fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan will not any time soon be discussing the plight of Shia Mohammaddens of Hazara ethnic origin simply because the slaughter was committed by fellow Sunni Mohammaddens and not as alleged by Kaafir Non-Mohammaddens, Buddhist Myanmarese in the below case

X Posted from The Rohingya Menance Thread.

Mohammadden journalist originating in the Mohammadden Terrorism fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shamil Shams, writes in Deutsche Welle about the hypocrisy prevalent in Mohammadden majority countries when dealing with the issue of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh who have been forced to flee Myanmar consequent to the terrorist violence unleashed on Non Mohammaddens in Myanmar’s Rakhine province by their ethno-religious compatriots in their name.

Dissapointed that political correctness has induced Non-Mohammadden Kaafirs slipping into Dhimmi mode and prevented them from coming up with more articles like this:
Opinion: The Muslim hypocrisy over Rohingya

The Islamic groups protesting Myanmar's Rohingya killings are shamefully silent over the persecution of minorities in their own countries. We must not let them Islamize the conflict, says DW's Shamil Shams.

Amost all Muslim-majority countries have decried the killings of the minority Rohingya people in Myanmar. From Turkey to Pakistan, leaders of Islamic nations have condemned the ongoing security operation in Myanmar's western Rakhine state that has killed hundreds of Rohingya and forced about 294,000 people to flee the area. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is set to issue a statement against Myanmar in Astana, Kazakhstan, on Monday.

At the same time, Islamist groups in Indonesia and Pakistan are holding mass demonstrations against Myanmar's Buddhists, its government and de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi. The calls for the Nobel Committee in Sweden to rescind Suu Kyi's peace prize are getting louder by the day.

What is happening in the Southeast Asian country is indeed condemnable. But what is equally reprehensible is the Muslim countries' response to the Rohingya plight.

Religious persecution

The track record of Muslim-majority countries over their treatment of religious and sectarian minorities is abysmal. On Sunday, September 10, three Hazara Shiites were killed in Pakistan's northwestern city of Quetta. The minority group has been systematically targeted by Islamists for many years, and the government has never paid heed to their plight.

The discrimination against Hindus, Christians and Ahmadis on the state level has persisted for decades. The Islamic country's blasphemy laws have forced religious minorities to live under constant fear for their lives. The Christian neighborhoods have been torched by the majority Muslims, and members of the Hindu community could be lynched for "insulting" Islam or its prophet, Muhammad.

Religion-based persecutions are on the rise in other Muslim countries also. The rise of political Islam in Indonesia and Malaysia is a threat to the cultural plurality of these countries. It is ironic that hardline Islamic groups in Indonesia, Malaysia and Pakistan are protesting against the Rohingya discrimination in Myanmar.
None of this justifies the fact that the Rohingya remain one of the most persecuted communities in the world. The stateless people have been living in Myanmar for decades, yet the country's government refuses to grant them citizenship. Neighboring Bangladesh, a Muslim country, doesn't accept them either. It is a huge and indescribable human tragedy. But those who are giving a religious color to the Rohingya situation are doing harm to the plight of an oppressed community.

It is not a fight between Buddhism and Islam. The fact is that Western governments, their institutions and rights groups have been raising their voice for Rohingya since the outbreak of violence in Rakhine in 2012. Last month, Kofi Annan, former Secretary General of the United Nations, compiled a fact-finding report on the conflict in Rakhine and pressed on Suu Kyi's government to give equal citizenship rights to Rohingya. International aid agencies are helping the Rohingya more, both inside Myanmar and in Bangladeshi refugee camps, than slogan-raising jihadi groups, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Sectarian perspective

The hypocrisy of Islamic groups is also evident from their selective criticism of the Muslim plight around the globe. The Muslim allies of Saudi Arabia have been silent over Riyadh's bombing of Yemen, an impoverished Middle Eastern country with a large Shiite population. Thousands of people have been killed in the Yemen war since 2015, yet there hasn't been any criticism of Riyadh by the Pakistani government or the Arab Gulf states. The Syrian and Iraqi conflicts are also interpreted by Muslim nations according to their closeness with either Saudi Arabia or Iran. The human misery, the massacre, and the atrocities committed by militant Islamists are often looked at through a sectarian lens.

The Muslim condemnation of the Rohingya massacre is subjective and biased. It is hollow because it belittles the human suffering by turning it into a religious issue. The conflict in Rakhine has never been about Islam versus Buddhism. It is an economic and political issue that has plagued the region for decades. The jihadi element, however, has been injected into the conflict, and the Rohingya are already paying the price for a militant transformation of their human predicament.

Islamization of the conflict

The Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army, which attacked Myanmar's security forces on August 25, has jihadi links. There are reports that Rohingya militants have links to Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Afghanistan also. Since the start of the latest conflict, jihadi groups in Afghanistan and Pakistan have started collecting funds to aid militants in Myanmar. Indonesia's Islamists are also getting increasingly involved in the conflict. Many of these groups have ties with al Qaeda and even the so-called "Islamic State" (IS). The Myanmar government says it is only responding to the jihadi threat. It is partly true but also a justification to suppress the Rohingya even more.

The victims of this Islamization of the Rakhine dispute are the Rohingya people. Instead of resolving the issue through diplomatic means and human rights interventions, Islamic countries have chosen to strengthen the jihadi narrative in Myanmar. This doesn't augur well for the stateless Rohingya, who have already suffered a lot at the hands of Myanmar authorities. The Muslim hypocrisy and the introduction of jihad in Rakhine will only make things worse for them.

Yet another Mohammadden journalist originating in the Mohammadden Terrorism fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Aasim Sajjad Akhtar, this time writing in an Op Ed in Dawn about writes sensible stuff about the hypocrisy prevalent in Mohammadden majority countries, this time the Islamic Republic itself, when dealing with the issue of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh who have been forced to flee Myanmar consequent to the terrorist violence unleashed on Non Mohammaddens in Myanmar’s Rakhine province by their ethno-religious compatriots in their name.

Continue to be dissapointed that political correctness has induced Non-Mohammadden Kaafirs slipping into Dhimmi mode and prevented them from coming up with more articles like this:
Muslim ‘solidarity’

Aasim Sajjad Akhtar
Updated September 08, 2017

THE Rohingyas of Myanmar are back on the front pages, their desperate plight confirming that the ‘civilised’ world of the 21st century is still a living hell for what the legendary anti-imperialist Frantz Fanon’s called “the wretched of the earth”. The spectre of hundreds of thousands of Rohingyas fleeing Myanmar into neighbouring Bangladesh is history repeating itself for the umpteenth time — evicted from their homes time and again, these permanent refugees have no place in a global order centred around exclusionary nation-states.

We Pakistanis have been bred on the notion that Muslims constitute an extra-territorial community of sorts; hence our solidarity with the Rohingyas and lament of their neglect by the rest of the (infidel) world. Our sentiments vis-à-vis other disenfranchised ‘Muslim’ communities are similar — Kashmiris top the list, but Bosnians, Palestinians and Chechens are also beneficiaries of our ‘Muslim’ solidarity. Standing with the oppressed is an entirely laudable endeavour. But in picking some instances of suffering and remaining shamefully silent on others, we demonstrate only how much hypocrisy supposedly civilised ‘nations’ are capable of.

The Kurds have been on the receiving end of Turkish and Iraqi state violence, but I can’t think of many Pakistanis whose hearts cry out for them (let alone state functionaries issuing press statements and civil society activists organising protests). West African communities like the Yoruba and Igbo too have been victims of state-sponsored pogroms across the territorial boundaries of Nigeria, Togo and Benin. Most Pakistanis have probably never even heard these names.

Closer to home, the (predominantly Hindu) Tamils of Sri Lanka are amongst the most oppressed minority communities in the world. But Pakistani officialdom’s close ties to the Sri Lankan state means there has always been silence when the latter has undertaken pogroms against Tamil populations. In 2008-9, a series of military operations in the north of Sri Lanka undertaken in the name of crushing the Tamil separatist movement — during which many humanitarian experts alleged war crimes took place — was actively supported by the Pakistani establishment and met with no ‘resistance’ from our ‘civil society’. Bred on standard Pakistani nationalist narratives, we justify silence over all these examples of state terror by serving up the religion card: they aren’t Muslims, so why should we care?

Cue more damning examples. Our ‘higher than the Himalayas, deeper than the deepest ocean’ friendship with China has mandated that we remain completely silent on the treatment of the Uighur ethnic minority that occupies the vast Xinjiang region bordering Pakistan to the north — and, which, even more significantly, China seeks to transform by building CPEC. The Uighur are Muslim, but there isn’t a hue and cry at the manner in which the Chinese state has suppressed their basic freedoms, and is now steadily facilitating the influx of ethnic Han Chinese into Xinjiang to fundamentally transform the region’s social mores.

In theory, a primary reason for Pakistan’s silence vis-à-vis the Uighurs is that there is a right-wing separatist movement raging in Xinjiang, and all ‘civilised’ states in today’s world ostensibly share the same position with regards to ‘terrorism’. But a separatist movement with deep historical roots within the Rohingya people is also active in the Rakhine state of Myanmar, and it is under the guise of defanging the ‘terrorists’ that the state has initiated its latest military incursion. The question, as ever, is why some forms of (armed) resistance to state persecution are considered ‘terrorism’ and others are not? As the example of the Uighur confirms, a certain community’s ‘Muslim’ credentials are not always enough for us to stand up for them.

Which brings me to the final — and most damning — point: what of state persecution within Pakistan? No one can deny the manner in which the state has usurped the freedoms of ethnic communities who have asserted their identity, claimed resources, and demanded a democratic power-sharing arrangement. Even today military ‘solutions’ are employed liberally within Pakistan to address what are clearly long-standing political conflicts. And the truth is that most of the Baloch, Sindhi, Pakhtun and other ethnic communities that demand their rights and are criminalised in exchange are very much Muslim.

So are the Afghans and at least 200 million of the Indians with whom we cultivate perennial enmity. So let us be clear that, rhetoric aside, we do not stand with Muslims everywhere — our expressions of solidarity are opportunistic and contradictory. It would be much better to stand with the ‘wretched of the earth’ everywhere, and stop victimising the most vulnerable ourselves — look no further than the way we treat Christians, Hindus and other ‘non-Muslims’.

Malala Yousafzai went on record to question why Aung San Suu Kyi was silent over the treatment of the Rohingyas. I say people in glass houses should not throw stones.

Hawaii Imam Who Court - Challenged POTUS Trump Has Ties To Radical Islamic Organizations

The radical ties of the Imam behind the Trump immigration lawsuit
Posted March 10, 2017 12:00 AM by Jordan Schachtel
The plaintiff listed in Hawaii’s lawsuit against President Trump’s executive order on immigration is a member of an organization that has several current and former leaders tied to terrorist activity.
Dr. Ismail Elshikh — the imam of the Muslim Association of Hawaii — is suing Trump in reaction to the second version of his immigration moratorium, which was signed on Monday. The order imposed a 90-day hold on foreign nationals from six terror-tied countries from entering the United States.
According to the Muslim Association of Hawaii website, Imam Elshikh is a member of the North American Imam Federation (NAIF), a fringe Islamic organization that has a board and current leadership stacked with radical Islamic connections
Kyle Shideler, a terrorism expert and director of the Threat Information Office at the Center for Security Policy, tells CR that it’s concerning that Imam Elshikh is a part of NAIF.
Ashrafuzzaman Khan is the former president of NAIF and a current leader at the Muslim Brotherhood-connected Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA). In 2013, he was tried in a Bangladesh court as he was accused of drafting a kill list of intellectuals inside the country. He was charged with 11 counts of war crimes as the alleged leader of the Al-Badr death squad. In 2013, he and an accomplice were sentenced in absentia for the abduction and murder of 18 people, including nine university professors, six journalists, and three physicians.Egyptian cleric Wagdi Ghoneim was the chairman of NAIF at the turn of the century. In 2005, he agreed to deportation to Qatar after U.S. authorities were concerned about his potential connections to terrorist organizations. Ghoneim has called Osama bin Laden a “martyred heroic mujahid” and is now closely tied to the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood. He has been banned from entering several countries due to his radicalism.

Trump Sends Feds In To Raid NY’s Islamberg- Run By Paki Syed Mubarak Gilani - After 2 DECADES – Uncover America’s WORST Nightmare
POSTED IN FULL
There’s a mysterious hidden Muslim compound called Islamberg that’s nestled deep within the woods of the Catskill mountains in New York. The only way to access the 70-acre compound is through primitive dirt roads, where more than 100 Muslims live in seclusion away from the prying eyes of curious Americans. For over two decades, infidels have been prohibited from entering, as anyone attempting to enter will be “greeted” by armed Muslims patrolling a guard shack at the compound’s entry gate. Without access to the compound, there’s been no way to confirm rumors about the location being used as a training ground for Muslim terrorists. But after an alarming incident involving one of the Islamberg residents, police were finally able to obtain a warrant and raid the place. And what they discovered that these Muslims have been quietly plotting for years is nothing short of chilling. This "compound" has been in the news off and on in American and Canadian media, because of suspicions that it may be connected to Islamic radicalism !
For over two decades, this cult-like group of Sharia Law-following Muslims have lived quietly under the guidance of Pakistani Sheikh Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Gilani, a radical Muslim with known ties to Jamaat al-Fuqra, a terror organization responsible for a long list of terrorist activities around the world, including murders of rival religious figures in the United States. Locals in the area have often times reported the sounds of gunfire and explosions emanating from the compound, but because the Muslims weren’t necessarily breaking any laws, there was nothing that law enforcement could do except keep a close eye on the place from a distance.
Image
Pakistani Sheikh Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Gilani (suspected of ties to ISI . And suspected of indirect connections to murder of Wall St. Reporter Daniel Pearl ,as per book written by Bernard Levy )
But with a recent arrest of Islamberg resident Ramadan Abdullah who was recently caught trying to steal several cases of ammunition from a local mountain store in the area, authorities finally had their chance to obtain a search warrant for the compound, and what they discovered was nothing short of chilling.
Shortly after arresting Ramadan Abdullah for theft, the Muslim’s answers about why he was stealing ammunition raised suspicion among police, who then decided to obtain a search warrant to investigate their suspicions further. During their raid they discovered a massive stockpile of illegal weapons throughout the Islamberg location, including 8 assault weapons, 4 loaded handguns, 1 loaded shotgun, 2 rifles, 64 high-capacity ammunition feeding devices, and body armor, including thousands of rounds of .50 caliber ammunition capable of piercing body armor. But illegal cache of weapons seized at the compound was unfortunately just the beginning.
After Abdullah’s arrest, authorities began looking closer into his background, discovering that the Muslim is a long-time associate of the U.S.-based Islamist terrorist organization, Muslims of America (MOA), and was the very same Muslim who was arrested back in 1977 after police discovered enough material at his home to build 50 bombs.
Abdullah also participated in the armed robbery of a candy store in Brooklyn back in the 70’s that resulted in the death of a man. But after serving time and having his sentence drastically reduced, Abdullah had pretty much fallen off the radar of authorities, quietly living on the Islamberg compound and training other terrorists on the use of weapons. His arrest has now validated the fears that New York residents held all along that the compound was in fact location being used to actively train terrorists, where FOX News is now coming forward with other possible rumors of there being a tank on the grounds as well, and that the location was once used to hide Osama bin Laden from authorities.
/u]
Since Abdullah’s arrest, New York State Police Major Jim Barnes said he believes that the Muslim terrorist has traveled overseas to promote terrorism. All Abdullah’s illegal weapons have since been seized, and Barnes questions exactly what Abdullah’s motives were for hording such a massive amount of weapons in the first place.
“… it begs the question, what was he doing with all this and what were his intentions down the road?” Barnes said. Thankfully, Abdullah is being held without bail at the Broome County Jail.

Image
On several occasions, political pundit Dennis Michael Lynch has reported on the alarming things going on in Islamberg, exposing how 22 other training camps within the United States are directly associated with the MOA terror network and Ramadan Abdullah. Below is a chilling mini-documentary he did on Islamberg. Watch for yourself and ask: just what exactly is in that U-Haul truck?
It’s absolutely ridiculous that Muslims in this country are allowed to have their own freaking jihadi compounds, where they’re actively training their residents on the necessary tactics to carry out terror attacks! While Americans are protected under the Constitution against illegal searches and seizures, when known freaking terrorists are leading these compounds, it’s time to stop letting these Muslims hide behind our laws and put them all in GITMO where they belong! Has the Big Fish ( Gilani) fled the coop and fled to Pakiland. And is protected by the "Deep State " in one of their many safe houses

Our former Foreign Secretary, Kanwal Sibal, on the issue of Bengali speaking Mohammaddens who were illegally resident in Myanmar and rendered refugee in view of Mohammadden Terrorism violence unleashed by their own ethno-religious brethren in order to create a Mohammadden belief ruled enclave in Myanmar’s Rakhine Province.

Advises India should not join the “hypocritical chorus on humanitarian issues” of Mohammadden majority countries as they are silent of Saudi Arabia’s assault on Yemen, Turkeys assault on Kurds, Peoples Republic of China’s treatment of Tibetan’s and Mohammadden Uighurs, besides the Mohammadden Terrorism fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s promotion of Mohammadden Terrorism in India and Afghanistan even as they castigate India for standing up to Mohammadden Terrorism in J&K:
We should not fritter away our strategic stakes in Myanmar by joining a selective, hypocritical chorus on humanitarian issues by those who prefer to agitate only such as are low-cost for them. The Islamic countries who condemn Myanmar should explain why Saudi Arabia’s onslaught on the Yemenis or that of Turkey on the Kurds is overlooked by them. Why is there silence on China’s treatment of Tibetans and the Uighur Muslims ? The OIC liberally condemns India on Kashmir but is inaudible over Pakistan’s promotion of terrorism in India and Afghanistan. The ease with which the perceived maltreatment of Muslims anywhere mobilises the community in distant geographies, even violently, explains why pan-Islamism makes the full integration of Muslim minorities in non-Muslim countries difficult.
Advises that there is no need to pander to Bangladeshi sensitivities on this matter as they are playing footsie with the PRC but that there is need to address the issue of porosity our border with Bangladesh:
Commentary that India’s stance will damage India-Bangladesh relations as it fails to recompense the Sheikh Hasina government for its cooperation on weeding out anti-India insurgents from its soil is misguided. Bangladesh’s biggest defence partner is China, it supports the Belt and Road Initiative and wants to put its China and India ties in separate boxes. India has let the issue of 20 million plus Bangladeshi illegal migrants in India lie dormant, though the fact that 40,000 Rohingyas have moved to India should be reason for India to seriously address the porosity of our border with Bangladesh.

Points out the astonishing fact that Mohammaddens in our Jammu & Kashmir State who have been so vociferous in claiming that settlement of Hindu Refugees there are a conspiracy have acquiesced to settling of thousands of Bengali speaking Mohammaddens who were illegaly resident in Myamar and rendered refugee in view of Mohammadden Terrorism violence unleashed by their own ethno-religious brethren in order to create a Mohammadden belief ruled enclave in Myanmar’s Rakhine Province:
Astonishingly, the Rohingyas by the thousands have settled down in J&K where the Muslims fiercely oppose the settlement of Hindu refugees as a conspiracy to bring about demographic change.

Ali Akbar Velayati, Secretary-General of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening and long serving former Minister of Foreign Affairs (1981 to 1997) of the Islamic Republic of Iran accuses Israel of involvement in the alleged mistreatment of Bengali speaking Mohammaddens who were illegally resident in Myanmar and rendered refugee in view of Mohammadden Terrorism violence unleashed by their own ethno-religious brethren in order to create a Mohammadden belief ruled enclave in Myanmar’s Rakhine Province.

What is it that unhinges the mind of such senior adherents of Mohammaddenism like Ali Akbar Velayati when it comes to fellow Abrahamic Jews?

Excerpt from the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Tasnim News Agency:
Iran’s Velayati: Israel behind Massacre of Muslims in Myanmar

News ID: 1514651 Service: Politics
September, 10, 2017 - 14:04

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Secretary-General of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening Ali Akbar Velayati condemned the mass killing of Rohingya Muslims at the hands of Myanmar government and said the Tel Aviv regime has organized “the horrible crimes”.

“The Zionist regime’s plot to clean its cruel and child-killing image and spread the culture of oppression against children, the elderly and innocent people in coordination with the government of Myanmar shows a horrible and organized crime against the deprived Rohingya Muslims,” Velayati said in a statement on Saturday.

He further emphasized that “the sinister plot organized by international Zionism” would result in massacre of Muslims, oppression and forced displacement, ethnic and racial cleansing, as well as regional instability.

All of the international bodies, including the United Nations, Human Rights Watch and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as well as world countries should have a correct understanding of “the calculated plot”, Velayati said. ……………………..

Is There Such An Animal Called 'Islamic Female Circumcision".

Clarification

Who is responsible for the Muslims in Calgary website? Is it a product of the three Islamic centers listed on the site?
No, the three Islamic centers listed are NOT associated with the site. For that matter, NONE of the Muslims Organizations in Calgary, or elsewhere, are association with the website.
Why did you post such article on your website?
The goal in mind was to educate our youth and our community in general about the Islamic Female Circumcision: how it is done, its benefits and its basis in the teaching of our prophet. We want them to know that Female Circumcision exists in our Islamic Tradition, even though, internally, Muslims have different opinion about practicing it or not which differs from one Muslim country to the next. We hoped for them to learn that Islamic Female Circumcision has nothing to do with the barbaric practice of FGM.We wanted them to feel confident and proud, and to be able to stand tall and talk openly about the Islamic Female Circumcision.
Are you defending FGM?
No, we are not defending the barbaric practice of FGM. We are, only, educating people about the Islamic Female Circumcision, which, in our opinion, is NOT FGM. Play on words? Same wine in new bottle ?
Your article on your website caused controversy, what do you say about that?
The main idea, in our opinion, of the article is to clarify the difference between the Female Circumcision in Islam and the barbaric practice of FGM. We were not aiming to create any controversy.

Aceh is the only province in the country that practices Sharia law. Under the law homosexuality, alcohol, and gambling are crimes. Due to historical reasons, ( Arab Traders !) Aceh has had more Islamic influence than other places in Indonesia !

Indeed the frequency with which acts of Mohammadden belief motivated Allahu Akbar shouting type violence are committed and acts of violence carried out on the Mohammadden Sabbath of Friday by Mohammaddens suggest that a study needs to be carried out to rule out the possibility that the Friday Sabbath and Mohammadden sloganeering of the Allah Akbar type somehow serves to foster belief motivated violence rather than dampen it notwithstanding well meaning claims of Mohammaddenism being touted as a “Peaceful” belief.

Love Jihad In Ladakh? Buddhists Accuse Muslims Of Forced Conversions, Luring Girls By Deception
Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) have flagged the rising number of cases of forcible conversions of Buddhist women by Muslim men, threatening to launch an agitation if the Jammu and Kashmir government doesn't take immediate steps to curb down the trend in the region, Indiatimes has reported.
Discord in the region had been simmering for quite some time, with members of the Buddhist community claiming that the Muslims have forcefully converted at least 97 girls to Islam through wedlock. However, tensions rose dramatically following the marriage of a Buddhist girl named Stanzin Saldon of Leh with Murtaza Agha of Kargil. Although the girl has asserted that she converted to Islam willingly, the Buddhist stress that her consent was obtained through coercion. This is similar to the fate of Hindu girls in Pakistan !
“In the recent past, Buddhist families and young girls have been lured by the Muslim community in various parts of Ladakh, forcing them to embrace the Islamic fold,” a memorandum sent by the LBA to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti read.
Members of the community have accused Muslim men of posing as Buddhists and luring girls. While Buddhists comprise little over 51 per cent of Ladakh's population, Muslim constitute around 49 per cent. Due to the prolific "breeding rate" , there is no doubt that the Buddhists, in a short time, will become a minority in Ladakh !

Generosity of Christist majority Europe abused yet again by Mohammaddens who were so generously provided refuge. Both the individuals detained in the London Parsons Green bomb attack turn out to be Mohammadden refugees from the Middle East, Iraq and Syria in this case, who were foster parented by the same fellow Abrahamic Christist couple.

I hope that our Supreme Court makes note of this case of Mohammadden refuges turning against their generous Non-Mohammadden hosts when it comes to passing judgment in the case of the Bengali speaking Mohammadden illegal migrants from Myanmar who illegally entered India and are fighting deportation from India. Looking forward to our Supreme Court agreeing to the deportation of these illegal Begali speaking Mohammadden immigrants from Myanmar that is sought by our Government:

#RohingyaTerrorExposed | Myanmar government confirms 45 bodies of Hindus recovered in all. 90+ persons still missing

AFP is not the only wire service reporting slaughter of Hindu’s by Mohammaddens in Myanmar’s Rakhine province. Reuters is also reporting the slaughter of Hindu’s by Mohammaddens in Myanmar’s Rakhine province albeit at a bodycount lower than the 45 reported in the above tweet:

Myanmar says bodies of 28 Hindu villagers found in Rakhine State

Meanwhile according to India Today, the Illegal Mohammadden Bengali speaking migrants in Myanmar’s Rakhine province who have been forced to flee Myanmar in the aftermath of their attempts to intimidate Buddhist’s, Hindu’s etc in Rakhine continue their intimidatory tactics in Refugee camps set up in Bangladesh by targetting Hindu’s. India Today reports that Hindu’s are being forced to follow Mohammadden practise by praying in Mohammadden manner and prevented in following Hindu practise by preventing Hindu women wearing Sindoor.

I hope our Supreme Court takes note and our Government strongly takes up matter with Bangladesh Government on their need to ensure Hundu’s are not intimidated in refugee camps on Bangladeshi soil:

Muslims in China say they are being told to hand over Qurans or face 'harsh punishments'

'Every single ethnic Uyghur must hand in any Islam-related items,' claims exile group

Chinese authorities are ordering Muslims in the country to hand over their prayer mats and copies of the Quran or else face punishment, it has been reported.

Officials in Xinjiang province have warned members of the Uyghur ethnic minority they must surrender religious items on pain of "harsh punishments", according to an exile leader.

"We received a notification saying that every single ethnic Uyghur must hand in any Islam-related items from their own home, including Qurans, prayers and anything else bearing the symbols of religion," Dilxat Raxit, of the exile World Uyghur Congress, told Radio Free Asia (RFA), which is operated by the US government.

The directive also applies to ethnic Kazakh and Kyrgyz Muslims, RFA said. It was reportedly announced via the WeChat social network.

In its update on China in 2016 and 2017, Amnesty International said the communist Beijing government "continued to violate the right to freedom of religion, and crack down on all unauthorised religious gatherings" in the region, and to detain Uyghur writers.

Tension between Uighurs and Han Chinese boiled over in 2009, leading to violence that left scores dead.

Hundreds of people have died in the protracted conflict between separatists and the Chinese government in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, its full name, which sits on China’s far north-western border.

Beijing has blamed the problems on Islamist militants, though rights organisations say the violence is in reaction to repressive Chinese policy. Rebels claim the region has been illegally occupied since 1949.

Peaceful protests have taken place alongside bombings and other violent attacks on Chinese security forces and institutions.

Two dead in Marseille train station knife attack: Police

MARSEILLE: A suspected Islamist knifeman killed two women at the main train station in the French Mediterranean city of Marseille on Sunday before being shot dead by soldiers patrolling there, local officials and police said.

One of the victims was fatally stabbed while the other had her throat slit by the assailant who is believed to have shouted "Allahu Akbar" (God is Greatest) at the start of his rampage, a source close to the investigation told AFP on condition of anonymity.

Soldiers posted in the station as part of a special force set up to guard vulnerable areas in terror-hit France responded to the stabbings in front of the station and shot the man dead, local officials said.

Armed police were deployed afterwards and the grand and ornate rail terminus in the bustling heart of France's second-biggest city was evacuated, stopping all train traffic on one of the country's busiest lines.

"Two victims have been stabbed to death," regional police chief Olivier de Mazieres told AFP, referring to the attack which occurred at 1:45 pm (1145 GMT).

The latest deaths came with France still on high alert and in a state of emergency following a string of attacks in recent years by extremists linked to the Islamic State group or Al-Qaeda.

Since 2015, a total of 239 people have been killed in France by jihadists, according to an AFP count before Sunday's incident.

After the stabbings, anti-terror prosecutors said they had opened an investigation into "killings linked to a terrorist organisation" and the "attempted killing of a public official".

The incident came only days after the Islamic State (IS) group released a recording of what it said was its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi urging his followers to strike their enemies in the West.

France has deployed troops and its air force to the Middle East and is a leading partner in the US-led international coalition fighting IS in Iraq and Syria, where the jihadists are being driven back.

France has suffered several major terror attacks since 2015, including on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in January followed by an assault on Paris bars and the Bataclan concert hall by gunmen in November of that year.

A killing spree in Nice in July 2016 left 86 people dead when an extremist drove a truck into crowds after a fireworks display on Bastille Day.

But there have also been numerous smaller attacks on police officers, soldiers or members of the public since then, sometimes carried out by people with severe psychological problems.

Since November 2015, the country has been in a state of emergency which gives the government and security forces greater powers to combat extremists and launch anti-terror raids.

New centrist President Emmanuel Macron has vowed to end the state of emergency with a new and controversial security law that will make many of the provisions of the emergency regime permanent.

Despite criticism from rights groups that the law reduces judicial oversight over the actions of the police, the lower house of parliament is set to vote on a first draft of the law on Tuesday.

French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb posted on Twitter that he would travel to Marseille on Sunday.

In August, a man driving a van killed one person and seriously injured another after ploughing into a bus stop in Marseille, raising fears of another terror incident.

But doctors said later that the man had severe mental problems and discounted any terror link.

The soldiers who shot the knifeman on Sunday were part of the Operation Sentinelle force composed of 7,000 troops who guard high-risk areas such as transport hubs, tourist sites and religious buildings.

Another wire service article, this one from Reuters, on the Allahu Akbaring knife attack in Marseille that killed 2 for which Mohammadden belief based group Islamic State has claimed credit:

Knifeman yelling 'Allahu Akbar' shot dead after killing two in France

Using the Mohammadden belief based slogan of Allah Hu Akbar while carrying out violent attacks seems to be becoming quite commonplace and geographically widespread particularly given that many politically prominent leaders of Mohammadden majority countries insist that Mohammaddenism is the belief of Peace. Besides the present attack in France weblinks for some of the other Allahuakbaring attacks which have taken place in Turkey, Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, Germany as well as other attacks in France:

Islamic State claims Las Vegas mass shooting]

CAIRO: The Islamic State group on Monday claimed responsibility for the mass shooting in Las Vegas, saying the perpetrator was "a soldier" who had converted to Islam months ago, without providing any evidence to support the claim.

Authorities have yet to identify a motive for the shooting, and said initially there was no evidence of any connection to international terrorism.

The group's Aamaq news agency released two brief statements hours after the shooting at a country music concert that killed at least 50 people and wounded at least 400. It was the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history.
IS did not name the suspected shooter, but said he had "executed the operation in response to calls to target countries of the coalition" batting the extremist group in Iraq and Syria.

Police have identified the shooter as Stephen Craig Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nevada, and have said he killed himself after the shooting. Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said authorities believe it was a "lone wolf" attack, and the US Homeland Security Department said there was no "specific credible threat" involving other public venues in the US.

The IS group often claims attacks by individuals inspired by its message but with no known links to the group. However, it is not known to have claimed any attacks that were not at least loosely linked to it.

Before Sunday, the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history took place in June 2016, when a gunman opened fire at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, killing 49 people. The gunman, Omar Mateen, had pledged allegiance to IS and it claimed the attack.

The extremist organization has suffered a string of major setbacks in Iraq and Syria, where it has lost much of the territory it once claimed as part of a self-styled Islamic caliphate. However, the group remains active in recruiting followers on social media, and has repeatedly called for attacks in Western nations.

Excerpt from our Ministry of External Affairs press briefing of Sept 29 dealing with the massacre of Hindu’s by Bangladesh origin Mohammadden illegal migrants long squatting in Myanmar’s Rakhine province:
Question: According to the Myanmar Army a lot of Hindu graves have been found. First, are you in touch with Myanmar’s government over this issue and second, on 3rd October I believe there is a diplomatic community is going to visit the location, is India also going to be a part of that?

Official Spokesperson, Shri Raveesh Kumar: We have seen the press reports about these graves, we have also looked at the statements which were issued by the State Councilor’s office. I can say that we condemn terrorism in all forms. We emphasize that there is no justification to any act of terrorism whatsoever which targets civilians in this conflict. WE do hope that the authorities will be able to bring to justice the perpetrators of the crime. WE hope that the families of the victims will be extended all possible assistance so as to instill a sense of security and return of normalcy.

I am aware that the government of Myanmar have extended an invitation to the diplomatic core to visit the effected region. I am aware of the some of the media personalities from India being part of that. I am not sure about the participation from our side and at what level, whether our mission is participating or not but I can get back to you.
Question: Mera sawaal bhi Myanmar se hi judaa huaa hai. Rohingya aatankiyon ke chalte jo Hindu maare gaye hain Myanmar mein wo tasveerein abhi Zee News ne dikhaayin aur hamaare reporter bhi wahaan par gaye hain. Myanmar Sarkar ne jaisaa kahaa hai ki Rohingya aatankiyon ne hatyaa kii hai to kyaa Videsh Mantraalay ke paas iski official taur par Myanmar ne jaankaari di hai ki un Hinduon ko kinhone maaraa aur jo wahaan par abhi bhi peedit hain, kya Videsh Mantraalay unko koi madad Myanmar bhej rahaa hai kyonki Bangladesh ko to aapane madad bheji Rohingya ke liye?

Official Spokesperson, Shri Raveesh Kumar: Dekhiye, jaisa maine kahaa ki iske baare mein hamaare paas press vigyapti aayi thii State Councilor ke office se. Iska matlab ye hai ki jo wo bol rahe hain unke hisaab se ye saare jitne bhi mass graves mile hain aur usmein jinka shav milaa hai wo saare Hindu they. Maine jo aapko abhi iske pehle bataayaa ki hamara aur Myanmar ka jo relation hai usmein hamne ye kahaa hai ki kisi bhi yuddh mein aur kisi bhi situation mein agar innocent civilians ki jaan jaati hai, unko displace honaa padtaaa hai to ye bahut dukhad hai, ye bahut khedjanak hai aur ye humne unko appropriate level par ye bataayaa hai.

Jaisa maine kahaa ki jo displace hokar aa rahe hain aur jaisa maine abhi aapko kahaa ki hum ummeed karte hain ki jo log maare gaye hain unki families ko poori sahaayta aur poora muaawaja jo bhi hota hai, wo diya jaayega.
