Masjid Now Fair Game For Robbers In The "Land Of The Pure " :D

Gunmen Get Away With Rs 300,000 From Karachi Mosque
KARACHI – Armed robbers got away with Rs0.3 million from a mosque in Karachi’s Soldier Bazaar yesterday, sparking unrest among the faithful faithfools in Sindh capital.
The intruders, however, managed to escape after looting cash from the cupboard and a donation box in the mosque also took a repeater gun with them, which was meant for the security guard, the reports added.SP Shahla Qureshi told the media that the police initiated investigations when prayer leader Fariduddin Qadri informed it about the incident.A statement of the caretaker has also been recorded while an FIR No 164/17 has been registered against unidentified robbers. Sounds like an "inside job" . Loot will be equally divided

Bajwa - The "Military Mard" Pontificating On Paki Economy

Bajwa urges govt to expand tax base in order to break 'begging bowl'
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa said Pakistan needs to expand its tax base, bring in financial discipline and ensure continuity of economic policies to be able to break the begging bowl, ( did he actually utter the term "begging bowl". What about the effect on the "Echendee" ) military's media wing reported.
"The economy is showing mixed indicators. Growth has picked up but the debts are sky high. Infrastructure and energy have improved considerably but the current account balance is not in our favour," the army chief reportedly said while addressing a seminar on the interplay of economy and security on Wednesday. This so called "interplay of economy and security" can no longer be put on the "back burner" in light of recent threatening noises made by POTUS to squeeze "Paki Balls" and the equally bombasting response from the Paki PM ( which no one believes !) that Pakiland no longer is dependent on US for military and economic assistance
"Our tax to GDP ratio is abysmally low and this needs to change if we are to break the begging bowl," read the text of Bajwa's speech shared by Inter-Services Public Relations. He also shared that economy remains a major concern during National Security Council meetings, also revealing that he reads the business and economy page of the newspaper right after the main page because of its importance. It is assumed that he "starts his day" by reading the authentic version of "The Book " and not the one that the Qadianis and The Ahmedis have come out with
"Pakistan is capable of creating sufficient fiscal space to address underlying structural problems through tax reforms, documenting economy, diversifying the export base, and encouraging savings to finance a level of investment that could sustain growth rate higher than the rise of population," but the benefits should also reach all parts of Pakistan including interior Sindh, Fata, Balochistan and Southern Punjab, he said. :(( straight out of an ISPR handbook !
"We cannot afford to leave a large segment of our youth with limited options — madrassahs must enable their students to become useful members of the society who are not left behind in any field of life." [( subtle message to Maulana Ghazi of Lal Masjid "fame" )[/color].He cited the peaceful commencement of Muharram, Bohra community holding its annual gathering in Pakistan and sports and cultural events as examples of peace reiterating in the country. Are Bohras considered mainstream Muslims in Pakiland . The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is "a complete development platform that has the potential to act as a powerful springboard for shared development in the entire Central Asia-South Asia region," Gen Bajwa said.
"Our destinies are inextricably linked," he told India and Afghanistan, adding that he sincerely believes that the region "will sink or sail together." India and Afghanistan "lumped together"? ( one , of course is an "eternal enemy" :D ) . Is this seminar being "used" to send some sort of a message to India and Afghanistan . Is he "the right person" to pass judgement on Paki economy ? Does the Indian Army Chief lectures on Indian Economy - a subject that is not his speciality ?

As per news article
The national flag-carrier’s flight PK-755, carrying approximately 300 passengers, took off from Sialkot at 6am in the morning and was scheduled to land in the Saudi capital of Riyadh at 8am.
As per flightradar24, the aircraft was an A320 which has a maximum seating capacity of around 190 passengers. So if they had 300 passengers on board (I assume these were humans, not goats in the cargo hold), clearly they had a technical issue of overloading

Of course it's slipshod reporting but always fun to have fun at Paki expense.
i would take that report seriously. There were incidents extra people sleeping in aisle, traveling in toilet in PIA flights.

"Paki Senate" Adopts Resolution Against "Badmash Ganja Sharif" Without Naming Him.

Senate adopts resolution against disqualified persons holding party office
The Senate on Wednesday adopted a resolution stating that a person who cannot become a member of the parliament should not "become an office bearer of any political party".
The resolution, presented by PPP's Senator Aitzaz Ahsan, pointed out that an un-elected person — someone who has given up Pakistani citizenship, who is declared to be of an unsound mind or otherwise disqualified from holding public office by a court — can become the head of party and take decisions. The parliament, thus, is "exposed to becoming hostage to a person who himself is barred from entering it," the resolution states. IMO, the resolution is clearly aimed against the politically besieged Nawaz Sharif without naming him . Dus Percenti's PPP is going after him - full throttle

Mattis's "One More Chance" To Pakistan - Is It For "Real" This Time

Losing touch with reality?
Seema Sarohi
October 10, 2017
Pakistan has had a terrible week. Again. The clouds are gathering, the pressure is mounting and the desperation is increasing. Two significant hearings in the US Congress, where US defence secretary James Mattis and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford testified last week, made it amply clear that Pakistan is on short notice. It must act, and act soon, to disrupt terrorist networks on its soil or be prepared to face the music.
Initial reports and consequent Twitter outrage focused on Mattis’ statement that he would try “one more time” to work with the Pakistanis. He is scheduled to visit Islamabad in the coming weeks. But he went on to say that “if our best efforts fail, President Trump is prepared to take whatever steps are necessary”. Paki media is putting a different spin. PM Abbasi and FM Asif have made belligerent statements !
It is worth listening to the nearly six hours of testimony, questions and answers before making a judgement on whether the Americans are serious this time. Or might they fall victim once again to some last-minute, all-too-clever ploy by Pakistan and call off the chase.
So far, there is a degree of seriousness not seen before, and a high level of determination to push Pakistan. US officials tell me that they have made specific demands, devised ways to measure success, and prepared a list of penalties to be imposed. Now the penalties will come from all sides. The Europeans are not going to be making side deals. Mattis talked about a coordinated plan with Nato allies to penalise Pakistan if it does not “change its behaviour”. US government departments, including Treasury, state and defence, along with the various intelligence agencies, are ready with their moves, from targeted sanctions to banking restrictions. Unless US has "worked out" alternate routes of supply to Afghanistan, the Pakis still have some sort of leverage , IMO !
It will be a “whole of the government” approach and “integrated with our allies”, said Mattis. “So, there are decisions Pakistan must make. We are out to change that behaviour and do it very firmly.” This coming from a former general carries a different kind of weight. Gen. Dunford told the Senate Armed Services Committee, “I think it’s clear to me that the ISI has connections with terrorist groups.” There is absolutely no doubt about that !
Yes, American generals have been here before. One of Dunford’s predecessors had famously called the Haqqani Network a “veritable arm of the ISI” but later ‘clarified’ his remarks. But the difference this time might be the commander-in-chief.So, when the visiting Pakistan foreign minister Khawaja Asif made a blustery public attempt to regain lost ground and blame his country’s terrorist addiction on the Americans, it fell flat. But there was Asif lamenting that the US had made Pakistan “a whipping boy” and was playing the “blame game”. In full flow, Asif also threw in gratuitous insults at Senator John McCain — a respected figure and Pakistan’s last remaining friend on Capitol Hill — while claiming that terrorist safe havens were in Afghanistan, not Pakistan. Asif is famous in Pakistan for his "loose tongue" .Discretion expected of a diplomat is not his forte !
Crudeness can’t be excused as candour, but Asif ’s meandering tirade against the Trump Administration went via Vietnam, the US gun lobby, to finally end with a plea for “respect and dignity”. He was clearly shaken after his official meetings. There was no give from the American side.
Hours before, US National Security Adviser H R McMaster had reiterated American expectations to Asif on disrupting the Haqqani Network and the Taliban, laying out the bare facts. The US side has given a detailed brief on what should be done. So, when the Pakistanis say they are unclear about what’s needed, it is, well, Pakistan-speak.
US officials are clear that there is no going back to ‘status quo policies’ with Pakistan. If their expectations are not met within a certain time period, additional steps, besides blocking $350 million in military aid, will be taken. The time frame for action is said to be about four months.
Asif ’s remarks will not help Pakistan’s case or improve the atmosphere. Wittingly or otherwise, the Pakistanis have been stepping on a lot of diplomatic minefields lately, what with their UN envoy flashing the wrong photo last month, much to Rawalpindi’s embarrassment. Are they losing their touch? And their touch with reality? Living in La- La Land

It is with Deep Joy and Exhilaration that I have read the above Article and can rightfully feel that it is possibly the last nail in Terroristan's Coffin.

Please compare the Military-Armed Strength of India and Terroristan at http://www.globalfirepower.com

You will find that Terroristan's Capablity is about half that of India's. Now the Question Arises "How could Terroristan achieve Half of India's Armed-Military Strength as compared to India by have an Annual Defence Budget of US$ 10 Billion as compared to India's Defence Budget of about US$ 52 Billion.

As such the Terroristani Defence Budget & Spending is Half as much as compared to India's Spending. I would put it in the US$ 20 to US$ 25 Billion Range.

Having exhausted all other avenues the Terroristani Army wants to take over Terroristan Steel Mills. Why? LAND

The Terroristan Steel Mills is built on an Area of 18 to 19 Thousand Acres about 75 to 80 SQUARE KM! i.e. About Thirty Square Miles. Now please have a guess the Monetary Value of this Land Area of Thirty Sq. Miles!

The Terroristani Army will not repeat not run the Steel Mill. It will just develop the land and use it to finance its Terroristic activities!

By the way : The Terroristani Population is about 300 Million as per this Article

Happy Reading! :rotfl:

Or it could be they are planning future strikes on chinese steel mills, who are the demise of steel mills worldwide, who knows they may serve as US pawn again to screw the chinese. Last time it was in afghanistan, this time their country themselves. This shows a progression from their negotiating strategy of gun on their own head to suicide vest on their own shoulders. This might be their last chance. They might be ultimate chanikians in the end

Pakistan wants peaceful relations with 'belligerent' India: General Bajwa

KARACHI: Pakistan has shown "genuine desire" to have peaceful relations with its "belligerent" neighbour India but it takes two to tango, the country's army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa said on Wednesday.

Speaking at a seminar here on 'Interplay of Economy and Security', Gen Bajwa also said that Pakistan needed a comprehensive effort to pursue the National Action Plan and remove vulnerabilities well before they turn into threats.

"Our external front which continues to remain in a flux. With a belligerent India on our East and an unstable Afghanistan on our West, the region remains captive due to historical baggage and negative competition," Bajwa said.

"But on our part, we are making a deliberate and concerted effort to pacify the western border through a multitude of diplomatic, military and economic initiative, not to mention the phenomenal boost to human security that we have provided in FATA and surrounding areas.

"We have also expressed and demonstrated our genuine desire to have normal and and peaceful relations with India, however, it takes two to tango," Bajwa said.

Bajwa also expressed concerns over the country's "sky high" debts, saying the abysmally low tax to GDP ratio must change if the country has to "break the begging bowl".

"Growth has picked up but the debts are sky high. Infrastructure and energy have improved considerably but the current account balance is not in our favour," he said.

According to figures released by the finance ministry, Pakistan's foreign debt and liabilities are around $58 billion.
"In order to secure our future, we have to increase our tax base, bring in fiscal discipline and ensure continuity of economic policies," he said, adding that economy remained one of the highest concerns during National Security Council meetings.

Bajwa also said when enemies of Pakistan wanted to damage it, they targeted financial hub Karachi and tried to destabilise it.

He said the authorities had put peace a top priority in Karachi and want the city to return to its old economic growth.

Pak stocking short-range nukes in tunnels not far from Delhi.

Days after Pakistan announced in the United Nations General Assembly that it has developed short-range nuclear weapons, reports today said it has a stock of 140 such weapons and is now building underground tunnels not far from the Indian border to store them.

The site is reportedly in Mianwali, 350 km from Amritsar and 750 km from New Delhi, the reports said.

According to WION, the facility comprises three interconnected tunnels, each 10 metres high and 10 metres wide. The tunnels are linked by wide roads, broad at the corners to facilitate the movement of transporter erector launchers from where missiles are filed.

All the tunnels have separate entry and exit points. Each tunnel can store anything between 12 and 24 nuclear weapons. The entire area is heavily fenced.

A similar report in The Print cites retired Colonel Vinayak Bhat to say that Pakistan is constructing underground tunnels in Mianwali district.

"The pace of construction indicates that possibly a small group of specialised engineers and construction staff has been working on this project permanently. The slow speed is suggestive of construction under the aegis of Frontier Works Organisation or FWO of the Pakistan Army," said Bhat.

The colonel, who is a military intelligence veteran and an expert in satellite imagery analysis said that India needs to monitor this site frequently.

The Federation of American Scientists (FAS) had said last month that Pakistan has stored its nuclear arsenal at nine different locations across the country.

Nuclear weapon expert Hans Kristensen had told The Times of India that since Pakistan is building a short-range sub-strategic nuclear arsenal, the warheads are likely to be dispersed in regional storage sites, from where they would be assembled to the launcher bases.

This is not the first time underground tunnels have been commissioned by Pakistan. On 30 September, Indian security forces detected a 14-foot-long tunnel dug from the Pakistan side across the international border in the Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The tunnel, from which the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel said they have recovered war-like stores, was found a day after the its field commanders and those of Pakistan Rangers held a flag meeting in which it was mutually agreed that peace and tranquillity would be maintained on the international border by both sides.

Rt Captain Safdar, MNA ( Son -In- Law Of Ganja Sharif) Outburst Against Ahmedis Claims Its First Ahmedi Victim

Ahmadi Lawyer, wife and son shot dead in Pakistan
A lawyer, his wife, and 2-year-old son were shot dead by unidentified gunmen who on early Monday stormed their home located in Rehman Garden in Sheikhupura and opened fire. The five-year-old son of Advocate Rauf Ahmad Thakur miraculously survived the attack by hiding under the bed.
Thakur who was of Ahmadiyya sect of Islam married Abida Bibi against the wishes of her family around 8 years ago, Ahmadis are considered heretic under Pakistani law and are not considered Muslims. Police suspect the incident is another case of an ‘honour killing’.
According to police sources, the primary suspect is believed to be Rafique, the lawyer’s brother-in-law. Police said that Rafique, who is from Ferozwala had a long-running dispute with her sister over her marriage to Thakur. Bibi’s parents and brother did not approve of her marriage to an Ahmadi.
According to reports Rafique along with his accomplices barged into his sister’s house and started spraying bullets at the family. As a result of the firing, Advocate Rauf Thakur, his wife Abida Bibi, their two-year-old son Sarim were killed while his five-year son Wali bed survived the attack by hiding himself under the bed.District Police Officer of Sheikhupura, Chaudhry Sarfaraz Ahmad Virk arrived at the scene of the crime to gather pieces of evidence.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Syed Mansoor Ali Shah and several senior lawyers have also taken notice of the murder, while his family has sought the report from the Police officials in Lahore. Lawyers also took to social media to condemn the attack.
 Doubt it will make any difference in the short of long term . Ahmedis are considered like "lepers" in Pakistan. Shunned ! It is better if they remain "incognito" - if they can !

Actually I remember two flights one PIA (Hajj) and Another SA flights in 1980 or so, both were caused by stove in the Cabin, and all on the plane died. ..
Just did google
- Pakistan International Airlines 740, on 26 November 1979 - 156 died ( crashed shortly after takeoff from Jeddah International Airport)
-Saudia Flight 163 (August 1980) (Another Haj) - Riyadh (all died)

Somebody said PIA is sick and needs a surgery. They did this.

PIA’s New CEO is an MBBS Doctor
Dr. Mushrraf Rasool Cyan is an MBBS doctor
and specializes in the field of health. He was a part of civil services of Pakistan and served 15 years. After his resignation, he went to the United States where Dr. Mushrraf Rasool Cyan worked as a health and human development researcher and scientist. During his stay in USA he obtained citizenship as well.
A senior official in PIA has told

“PM Abbasi’s decision is disappointing because the person in question does not even know the ABC of airlines.”

“In the aviation sector, working with an MBBS Doctor will be very difficult. Instead of a doctor, the government should appoint a person with a background in marketing, services sector, accountancy or engineering. Airlines do not need a doctor,“

A day or few ago, the indomitable Rauf Klasra was able to piece together two mysteries (youtube video exists):
1. The disappearance of the PIA plane, wrongly blamed on its German CEO was actually sold for a song - the price of around 45k euro (yes that's right) was signed off by one ex-Fauji (of course) Imran Akhtar
2. The Pak Lt Gen & ISI head who resigned a couple of days for seemingly no reason Rizwan Akhtar is the PIA fellow's brother

See, it's all family business in Pakistan, business as usual.

Of course PM Abbasi would. After all, Abbasi is the founder of Air Blue and still has an interest in the airline he founded. What better way to kill your (however weak) competition than sabotage it with dummy leadership.

In any country with rule of law, the PM should have distanced himself from any decision making to do with his financial interests (or like in the US, dispose off those financial interests before taking office). But this is Pakistan!

"Danda From USA" Leads To Foreigners' Recovery

Pak Army recovers five foreigners kidnapped in 2012
RAWALPINDI – The Pakistan Army recovered five abducted foreigners kidnapped by terrorists in 2012 after an operation, it emerged on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the hostages included a Canadian, his American wife, and their three children which were recovered “through an intelligence-based operation by Pakistani troops.” ( lots of "buzz words" :D )
“They were captured by terrorists (the "good" or the "bad" ones  ) from Afghanistan in 2012 and kept as hostages there,” the military’s media wing said.
“All hostages were recovered safe and sound and are being repatriated to the country of their origin,” it added. The communique continued that United States (US) intelligence agencies had been tracking them and shared their shifting across to Pakistan on Oct 11, 2017, through the Kurram Agency border. So, Massa's men, or Massa's "eye in the sky " - in clear violation of Paki sover-virginity have been tracking the culprits !

Kabul Rebuffs Pakistan :D

Kabul puts off transit trade meeting with Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: Kabul has unilaterally put off a meeting of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Coordination Authority (APTTCA), a high-level forum set up to deal with problems hindering smooth implementation of a revised transit treaty. The last meeting of the authority was held last year. The suspension of talks is likely to translate into a decline in trade between the two countries. Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan dropped by a significant 27 per cent over the past one year, owing to several factors. Afghanistan is asserting itself ! The days of getting bullied by Pakistan are clearly now over :D
The exports to the neighbouring country had reached an all-time high of $2.4 billion in 2010-11. It remained above the $2bn mark in the following two years — 2011-12 and 2012-13. Since then, exports have dwindled and hit $1.43bn in 2015-16.
In the first two months (July-August) of the current financial year, exports were recorded at $213.47 million. This shows that the total exports to Afghanistan will be about $1bn when the figures for 2017-18 are finalised. Afghanistan is weaning away from Pakiland !
A source told Dawn on Tuesday that the Afghan commerce ministry had conveyed to Islamabad its decision to postpone the meeting
It said the postponement of the meeting was linked to Kabul’s demand  that India be included in the bilateral and trilateral transit trade agreements.
According to the source, Kabul also wanted to gain access to Indian market and those of the other member countries of the South Asian Association for Regional Countries through the Wagah border crossing. Under the treaty, Afghan trucks are allowed to transport goods via a land route to the Wagah border. However, the trucks are not allowed to transport Indian goods to Kabul.
“The cost of transportation borne by owners of the trucks is high because of the one-way traffic allowed,” the source said. According to the source, Pakistan had sent a request to Kabul to share draft of the amended Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement as agreed at the last APTTCA meeting.
Foreign Office spokesman Nafees Zakaria confirmed that the APTTCA meeting had been rescheduled and that the request for the postponement had come from Afghanistan.

Losing to the Lankans - the paki version.

Captain, coach’s short-sighted approach could put Pakistan in reverse gear
The better team lost.
Pakistan should have won both the Tests had they played to their potential
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, pretty much surprised themselves
Sport can sometimes be cruel. Ill-luck can intrude unexpectedly and play havoc with a player or a team’s progress.
Pakistan’s diehard fans would still be expressing their loyalties by putting the shock defeats to the team’s unpredictable traits.
However, what has really irked the experts and the former players has been the inflexible approach of Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed and head coach Mickey Arthur throughout the contests, as well as their attitude that frequently bordered on arrogance.
How Sri Lanka managed to fit in three seamers and two spinners in their Test eleven is no rocket science.
Here's the foundation for another narrative - the breakup of pakhanistan in 1971 - "the better army (of course, that's the paki army for you kufr) lost...; should have won the war if they had fought to their potential.....Indians surprised themselves...ill luck and diarrhea...unpredictable bangalis... inflexible niazi...and so on and so on...". See how it works?

Here's a big one. How did we miss this? Malsi is no longer in khatrah!

Parliament also brings back oath’ to protect Islamic ideology of Pakistan
In addition to bringing back the declaration under oath regarding Khatm-e-Nabuwwat, the parliament has also reintroduced the oath for all those contesting elections that they would preserve the Islamic Ideology of Pakistan besides making this country to run on Islamic principles.
Though ignored by the media and politicians, the controversial deletions (now corrected) in the Election Act 2017 also included the replacement of “oath” to simple “declaration” in respect to the statement about Islamic Ideology of Pakistan in the nomination papers.
The corrections made through latest amendments by the parliament not only bring back the “oath” in regard to Khatm-e-Nabuwwat statement but also the declaration about the protection of Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan.
“I, the above mentioned candidate, solemnly swear that,- (ii) I will be faithful to the declaration made by the Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, that Pakistan would be a democratic state based on Islamic principles of social justice. I will bear true faith and allegiance to Pakistan and uphold the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan and that I will strive to preserve the Islamic Ideology which is the basis for the creation of Pakistan.”
Malsi wins. Oath to end all oaths. The foundation of pakhanistan is well and truly preserved for eternity or implosion (whichever occurs first). This should also be part of the passport application and driver's license application.

Attention Ahmedis, Hindus, Shias, Agha khanis, Bohras, Jains, Atheists and Sikhs: you can now take a hike!

Trade deficit jumps 30% in 1QFY18
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s trade deficit widened to $9.1 billion in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, up 30% as imports grew at double the pace of exports, which dashed hopes of early recovery of the external sector.
The value of goods imported into Pakistan exceeded the value of exported goods by $9.09 billion in the July-September quarter, reported the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday. The trade deficit in the first three months was $2.1 billion or 29.75% higher than the same period of previous year.
Pakistan had already a higher deficit base as it closed the last fiscal year at a record $32.5 billion trade gap. Due to this, the current account deficit had also peaked at $12.1 billion in the last fiscal year.

Independent economists say Pakistan will require about $20 billion in the current fiscal year to meet its external financing needs, although the finance ministry has put the figure at $18 billion including debt repayment obligations.

"Labour Slaves" In The Karachi Factory Of Multi- National Company H & M
KARACHI: International apparel brand HM’s workers in Pakistan are treated like slaves, labourers of Artistic Milliner factories recently fired for attending a rally demanding safety at work places, it has been revealed.

“We are harassed, abused and not allowed to form a union at the factory where international brands such as HM exploit us,” Syeda Kanwal, a female worker at Karachi’s Artistic Milliner factory, the largest supplier of HM products in Pakistan, told The Express Tribune.
Kanwal was asked to handover her ID card on October 9, 2017 and leave for good just a day after she along with her co-workers attended a protest rally in Karachi to demand safety at work places. Where is the GOP , or the GO Sind !
All in all, six workers were fired for attending the rally, with the administrator saying: “Go, attend all rallies you want to now, and we will see what you people can do to us,” as quoted by the labourers. "Strong sifarish", I presume :D
Although HM has signed a deal with International Labour Organisation (ILO) that binds them that their suppliers will maintain a standard at work places where their products are manufactured, the international brand has failed to make their suppliers’ factories safe and hygienic for the workers. In 2016, HM signed the Global Deal, a joint initiative with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the ILO that aims to address the challenges in the global labour market and improve social dialogue and working conditions.“Everyone should be treated with respect and the suppliers should offer their workers fair wages and good working conditions,” the HM reiterated as its vision after signing the deal on its website, but the working conditions (as narrated by the labourers) don’t reflect the needed commitment. The GOP has "sold" itself to the highest bidder, so how can the workers expect the same Goberment to fight on their behalf
When contacted, an HM representative in Pakistan said they are in touch with their suppliers and workers, trying their best to resolve the issues arising between the labourers and their employers. HM in Pakistan had done so in recent past with National Trade Union Federation (NTUF) being the representative of the workers, he added, while agreeing that it’s the brand’s responsibility to make sure workers get their rights at all units. The representative said the international brand could release a statement on the issue after contacting higher-ups in Stockholm. Profits before people. Squeeze the mazdoors as much as the traffic can bear
“We are the modern-day slaves where we have no right to raise our voice against injustice done to us at our workplaces. We only get catcalled, harassed, abused and the worse is being threatened to be detained by the bosses,” said another female worker Kousar, who is in the finishing department making HM jeans. “Not a single worker has been issued social security card. There is no medical facility neither are we allowed to unionise. We urge the consumers of these international brands to think about us before they make the purchases. The jeans you wear are actually made by us, the present day’s slaves,” she added.
When Zafar Kazi, a manager at Artistic Milliner, was asked to shed light on the matter, he declined to comment, and denied that any worker was fired. “I will confirm it in a bit,” he said, minutes before his mobile phone was switched off.

NEWSPAPER "EXPRESS TRIBUNE" IN "POCKET OF H&M

Yesterday, The Express Tribune published an article titled "Workers of international brand H&M being ‘treated like slaves’ in Karachi factory". However, they were quick to take it down. The article itself goes into great detail to highlight the plight of these workers. It's a shame that, for whatever reason, they made the decision to take it down.
