It's Time To Bomb North Korea
Nothing can be known about this week’s talks between North and South Korea other than their likely outcome. As in every previous encounter, South Korea will almost certainly reward North Korea’s outrageous misconduct by handing over substantial sums of money, thus negating long-overdue sanctions recently imposed by the United Nations Security Council. Meanwhile, the North will continue to make progress toward its goal of deploying several nuclear-armed, mobile intercontinental ballistic missiles, having already tested nuclear-explosive devices in October 2006, May 2009, February 2013, January 2016, September 2016, and September 2017

Each test would have been an excellent occasion for the United States to finally decide to do to North Korea what Israel did to Iraq in 1981, and to Syria in 2007 — namely, use well-aimed conventional weapons to deny nuclear weapons to regimes that shouldn’t have firearms, let alone weapons of mass destruction. Fortunately, there is still time for Washington to launch such an attack to destroy North Korea’s nuclear arsenal. It should be earnestly considered rather than rejected out of hand.
Ummm... the guy made a lot of good arguments, then ruined it all with this one:
It’s true that India, Israel, and Pakistan all have those weapons, with no catastrophic consequences so far. But each has proven its reliability in ways that North Korea has not. Their embassies, for instance, don’t sell hard drugs or traffic in forged banknotes. More pertinently, those other countries have gone through severe crises, and even fought wars, without ever mentioning nuclear weapons, let alone threatening their use as Kim Jong Un already has. North Korea is different, and U.S. policy should recognize that reality before it is too late.
What an insult to Pakistani H&D!!!! All that world-leading record in hashish and counterfeit currency!

Seriously. It is JUST possible that Trump et al have decided:
1) there is no easy win in NoKo, especially with Lungi Shiver Moon in charge of SoKo and Japan reluctant to have the US fight a war on its soil. Worst of all, PRC itself running the blockade with impunity, and making sure sanctions are useless against NoKo.

2) Instead of rising directly to the Fatboy Kim bait, the retaliation must be directed laterally, at some other place where they have the capacity to cause the Chinese a lot of grief.

3) therefore, pick some other place to hit back and cause the Chinese an equal amount of pain in retaliation. Somewhere the Chinese are heavily invested strategically as well as H&D wise. Pakistan.

Time will tell if this kite of mine flies. Look for a severe uptick in new jihadi groups attacking TSPA and ISI targets inside Pakistan and disappearing to sanctuaries across the Durand Line. Look for the Baluch freedom struggle to heat up all of a sudden. Look for such things to happen independently of the "Haqqani #3s" that Pakistan will no doubt begin supplying in the hope of refilling their begging bowls (i.e. not as coercive measures but as punitive measures).
Did you not see the #FreeBalochistan on NYE in TimesSquare? May be its too early to say so but I think for all its facade of inconsistency and madness, DT and Deep state are slowly calling out the enemies, building the noose to tighten and strangulate china when time comes. In the end all of these are just prologues, and they too might want to see which way does the camel sit. My old age seems to be set for Atami fireworks, just like my childhood

Olympic team arrives in South Korea, too big to go through DMZ tunnels.
Quite a few Chubby Tubbies there. What's all this nonsense about lack of food in NoKo? Certainly not for their ace negotiators. They are also wearing nice American-made suits, presumably won in negotiations with Foggy Bottom's Best

Canada has a long history of stirring up trouble in Korea. They were primary in backstabbing Indian efforts to bring peace in Korea.
Now blundering in as always. Then again, missile intercepts coming to USA may be occurring over downtown Ottawa, so maybe they have some interest in the matter.
Two of North Korea’s closest neighbors have criticized Canada’s effort to help coordinate the international response to Kim Jong Un’s weapons program.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said Wednesday that an upcoming Canadian-organized meeting on North Korea would “not help” because it didn’t include key players, adding that it would “harm joint efforts to improve the situation on the peninsula.” Japan, South Korea, India and Sweden are among those invited. China and Russia -- who supported the North Korea side during the war -- were not.
Meanwhile, a Japanese foreign ministry official questioned the need for including countries as distant as Colombia and Greece.

Two main factors: Nikki Haley in UN and SoKo President.

Nikki Haley was able to forge a consensus in imposing sanctions on NoKo that include China.
SoKo President wants to conduct a peaceful Olympic Games which is a feather in Korean Peninsula.

Third probable factor is NoKo wants more time.

The China reaction is to stop buying US treasuries (they hold $3.1T per Bloomberg) and see how bond market reacted today.

Its all linked and we need to think non-linearly.

Thanks for asking as it made me think.

Canada doesn't USUALLY even fa*t without approval from Londonabad and DupleeCity, do they? So the game is being played by someone else. I suspect that it is **NOT** orchestrated by WHOTUS but by Foggy Bottom anti-DT/Tillerson cabal in league with EU/Brish1ts. Of all NoKo's neighbors, Japan is most aligned with Pentagon/DT, so you see that omitting Japan makes sense as in omitting WHOTUS supporters.

Having a discussion minus PRC is a very interesting twist though. Is it equal-equal to explain omission of Japan or is the whole thing orchestrated by Beijing via Van Koo Ver?

Colombia and Greece, I have no idea.

But what is the point of a hanging judgement here? Looks like the opposite: "western" entities coming together and basically accepting NoKo as NuKo power, and giving full legitimacy. The one thing Canada does have, is clout in the NSG/ EnnPeeTee cabal. So they can undercut DT and WHOTUS big-time and earn brownie points from PeeAllSee.
DT needs to give the order for the air strikes without delay. US' role in the Pacific/SCS is evaporating every day.

Hafeez Saeed and Abdul Xerox Redux
By age 44, she had built a commercial empire accounting for a fifth of trade between the Communist neighbors. She was appointed to the provincial People’s Congress, granted special privileges to export petroleum products to the North and feted by officials as a “woman of distinction.” Now, Ms. Ma’s fate :(( has become a test of China’s willingness to support President Trump’s efforts to throttle North Korea’s nuclear ambitions. Last year, American prosecutors indicted Ms. Ma on charges of using her companies to help North Korea evade international sanctions. After a briefing by American diplomats in Beijing, the Chinese announced their own investigation into Ms. Ma’s main company. Fifteen months later, however, it is unclear what has become of Ms. Ma. The government says it has not found evidence to support the American charges that she or her partners aided North Korea’s weapons program. Though she remains under investigation for “economic crimes,” it is not clear whether she was ever arrested or where she is now.

Meanwhile, Chubby Tubby has brilliantly applied the lesson of the Naranath Branthan:
Donald Trump has promised “peace through strength” on the Korean peninsula, reportedly telling his South Korean counterpart that no US military action against Pyongyang is being contemplated while diplomacy is underway.
A stupid statement by DT.

NB (name means The Mad Fellow from Naranath) was put outside the town walls by the locals, in the middle of the forest, at night. Not expected to survive, given the abundance of tigers etc. But they gave him a last meal of rice wrapped in a leaf.
NB sat there eating one rice grain at a time. Legend has it that the tigers waited politely, being naturally well-brought up enough to never attack someone while they were eating. This went on until the sun came up and the tigers retreated into the depths of the forest. NB went back to his full-time sport of rolling big stones up the slope to the top of the hill, letting them roll downhill, and applauding happily.

Kimono-shivering
“I try to explain to the Americans — if we have to go into North Korea, it is not going to be like going into Iraq or Afghanistan. It’s not going to be like toppling [ex-Iraqi President Saddam] Hussein. This would be more like trying to get rid of Allah,” retired Lt. Gen. In-Bum Chun told a London think tank audience Wednesday.

“I have had the opportunity to speak to North Korean soldiers who have defected to South Korea — and you cannot imagine how indoctrinated they are,” he continued. “These are people who have defected, and yet there is still an innate belief in their system which is close to ridiculous.”

Chun has firsthand knowledge of what he’s talking about. He spent nearly 40 years in the South Korean military, including a stint leading the country’s special forces, before retiring only about 18 months ago. That means he spent his entire professional life studying North Korea through the eyes as a military professional who knew he might one day have to fight it.

And some of what he describes is pretty frightening. North Korean pilots would likely use their planes in kamikaze-style attacks, since the aircraft are too old to reliably fly well over long periods of time. That matters since the North Korean air force has around 1,000 planes. Plus, North Koreans receive 100 hours of training on how shoot a weapon a year starting at the age of 14, underscoring how militarized the society is.

Or its setting up the stage to portray the NoKo military as irredeemable in public media so US can use maximum force without any weepy editorials about hyuman rights. After all, they were fighting indoctrinated monsters. Reminds me of the famed Republican Guard and how US used bulldozers to bury entire trenches alive in ODS. And also US guys dont take NoKo lightly as versus Iraq and the easy fights elsewhere. So bring your maximum force and all that is possible. SoKo govt must be sh!tting bricks at the fact NoKo has nuke weapons. Them developing BMD is a given if US permits it. Not too happy about that. They seek export customers for whatever they make, and some of it make will make its way to TSP.

Despite leader Kim Jong-un having announced North Korea will participate in the Winter Olympics to defuse international tensions, US President Donald Trump deployed both nuclear supercarrier USS Carl Vinson and three nuclear-capable B-2 Spirit bombers to monitor North Korean activities during the games.
The USS Vinson is scheduled to arrive off the coast of the Korean Peninsula days before the opening ceremony, while the bombers touched down on the Andersen Aur Force Base in Guam on January 11, 2018.
The US overseas territory of Guam stands barely 2131 miles (3,430km) away from North Korea and was previously under threat of missile attacks from Pyongyang.

False Alarm sounded on Missile Inbound to Hawaii - CNN

Now from ABCNews:
People in Hawaii woke up to emergency alerts on their phones today about an imminent ballistic missile attack which they later learned was a false alarm.
The emergency alert was sent to people's mobile phones in Hawaii at about 8:08 a.m. local time with the startling words, "BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL."
Life, or what remains of it, is going to be such a joy from now on! Alerts like this a few times every day.
BEND OVER, PUT UR HEAD BETWEEN UR LEGS, AND KISS UR ASS GOODBYE!

Kim Fat So's "hand-picked" Houris
If they pull it off at talks due to start Monday in the Panmunjom peace village, the world may be treated to such Moranbong band hits as “My Country is the Best!” and “Let’s Support Our Supreme Commander with Arms.”
An Olympic appearance would be the first time on an international stage for Moranbong, whose 20 mini-skirted members were “hand-picked” by Kim Jong-Un to form the band in 2012 and sing mainly songs in tribute to the Dear Leader.
More typical are performances like the one in July on a Pyongyang stage before a jumbo screen showing North Korea’s new intercontinental ballistic missile, Hwasong-14, shooting into the sky while the band performed a set that included their hit ”Make Others Envy Us.”

That is Hillary-oos. What Tulsi Bahu is calling for is:
“Donald Trump is taking too long,” she told CNN. “He's not taking this threat seriously. There's no time to waste.”
Gabbard, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, added that is an urgent need for easily accessable nuclear shelters.
Isn't she saying that a pre-emptive strike is the only solution? Take too long for what? To build shelters or make enough white flags? Given TB's habit of speaking the truth and making sense, I think it is the former.

Wonder what is the point of an "accessible nuclear shelters" at Mururoa Atoll or Bikini Atoll. Hawaii is just a good intermediate test site in the Pacific for Kim Fat So, hain?

Also note that no one seems to have said: "Huh?" and gone back to sleep. Classic picture of a father lowering his little daughter through a manhole cover in the street, down into the sewer system.

And they didn't blame "Al Qaeda" or "Eyeran" or "Pakistan" or "Russia", but NORTH KOREA. So Americans **ARE** afraid of Kim Fat So. Which is why DT needs to trash Pyongyang and settle this.

highly classified Special Operations exercises in the United States, including those with scenarios to seize unsecured nuclear weapons or conduct clandestine paratrooper drops, have for several months reflected a possible North Korea contingency, military officials said, without providing details, because of operational sensitivity.
But unlike the very public buildup of forces in the run-up to the 1991 Persian Gulf War and the 2003 Iraq War, which sought to pressure President Saddam Hussein of Iraq into a diplomatic settlement, the Pentagon is seeking to avoid making public all its preparations for fear of inadvertently provoking a response by Kim, North Korea's leader.
Waiting for UBCN editorials on these tidbits
