Usually whenever there is a terrorist outrage in India, the evidence is lampooned or deliberately misplaced as it was after the Mumbai attack in 1993. This is usually followed by craven call for restraint.
What India can learn from this attack in Salisbury, is that if these new CW reagents are real, then there is a real possibility of Jihadi or PRC inspired groups being able to concoct them from common pesticide or herbicide precursors and spreading them around just before a major event such as an election or religious festival. Even if there are no deaths on the scale of Bhopal, Surat or 2008 Mumbai, the resulting panic and fear will be fed by the Indian media.

X Posted from the Islamism thread.

Joh Toba Qalandar Shah mein gaandu hai woh Telford mein bhi gaandu hai. Rochdale and Rotherham Redux in Telford.

From the Islamic Emirate of England, held Scotland, Wales and English Administered Ireland aka UK, news report emerging over the past week or so of a massive and long established case of Paedophile Sexual Grooming of mainly Christist Caucasian Children by mainly fellow Abrahamic Mohammadden Adults originating in the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

And yet again, as in previous cases of paedophile sexual grooming in the Islamic Emirate of England, held Scotland, Wales and English Administered Ireland at places like Rochdale and Rotherham, not to mention cases of other crimes such as Terrorism, the UK media continues providing a burqua aka burka to camouflage the fact that these despicable acts are mainly being carried out by Mohammadden Adults originating in the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan by liberally using the term “Asian Men” resulting in this peeved article in one of the few media outlets calling a Pakistani Mohammadden Paedophile just that.

Apparently in the UK while it is racist to point out that the paedophile is a Mohammadden Pakistani it is not racist to insinuate that “Asians” were involved despite the fact that Mohammaddens or Pakistani’s do not constitute the majority of “Asians”:
It is estimated that up to 1,000 young, mainly white girls have been raped, sexually abused, abducted, trafficked and some even murdered in Telford, Shrops.

The abusers are said to be “Asian”. Except “Asian” doesn’t quite do it. The vile men are not Filipino or Japanese. They are once again reported to be largely Muslim, and largely from Pakistan. …………………..

The abuse of young white girls by Muslim men apparently began in the 1980s. It took the police more than 20 years to tackle it. The social services departments didn’t seem to care, either.

Nobody cared. People were too worried about being seen as racist. So nothing got done, for years and years. ……………………….
The UK Tabloid The Sun:

Yet again, young girls were being abused in Telford — and yet again, nobody seemed to care :
From the social services to the police, it seems people were too worried about being called a racist rather than helping mainly white girls abused, trafficked and some murdered by largely Muslim men

Vladimir Putin: 'nonsense' to think Russia would poison spy in UK
Putin, who has won a new presidential term, says Russia does not possess the military nerve agent allegedly used against Sergei and Yulia Skripal

Vladimir Putin said on Sunday it was nonsense to think that Moscow would have poisoned the former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter, Yulia, who are critically ill in a British hospital.

The UK government has said that the Skripals were poisoned by the Soviet-era novichok nerve agent, and the foreign secretary, Boris Johnson, said on Sunday that Russia has been stockpiling it and investigating how such weapons could be used in assassinations.
Sergei Skripal possibly poisoned through car's air vents, say US media
But Putin, in his first detailed comments on the poisoning, said Russia had been falsely accused.

“As for the tragedy that you mentioned, I found out about it from the media. The first thing that entered my head was that if it had been a military-grade nerve agent, the people would have died on the spot,” said Putin.
*(good point!)

“Secondly, Russia does not have such [nerve] agents. We destroyed all our chemical weapons under the supervision of international organisations and we did it first, unlike some of our partners who promised to do it, but unfortunately did not keep their promises.”

Despite the tensions, Putin said Moscow was ready to cooperate with London: “We are ready to cooperate, we said that straight away. We are ready to take part in the necessary investigations, but for that there needs be a desire from the other side and we don’t see that yet. But we are not taking it off the agenda, joint efforts are possible.”

“I think any sensible person would understand that it would be rubbish, drivel, nonsense, for Russia to embark on such an escapade on the eve of a presidential election.”

Putin was speaking after winning a new term in a presidential election.

British officials have said Moscow was culpable for the poisoning, and expelled 23 Russian diplomats based in London. Moscow retaliated on Saturday by expelling the same number of British diplomats from Moscow, shuttering the British consulate in Russia’s second city of St Petersburg and closing down the Russian activities of the British Council, which promoted British culture overseas.
PS:Other titbits from the UK media allege that Skripal's daughtre, working in Moscow for western cos., was having an affair with a Kremlin staffer, which was objected to by the staffer's mother,as Skripal was officially a "traitor" living in the UK.Some suggest that the mother may have had something to do with the affair!

But what takes the cake is BoJo,who has vented his spleen against Russia and Putin personally in torrents of vomit, thought nothing of playing a
game of tennis with the wife of a Russian minister and shamelessly pocketed 160,000 quid in the bargain!

Boris Johnson has defended his decision to play tennis with the wife of a former Kremlin minister in exchange for a £160,000 donation to the Tory party.
The Foreign Secretary admitted he played the match with Lubov Chernukhin, the banker wife of Russia’s former deputy finance minister, after she won a now-infamous auction bid in 2014.

Jeremy Corbyn blasted the Tories in the wake of the Sergei Skripal attack for accepting donations from Russian oligarchs, claiming fortunes "sometimes connected with criminal elements" have been used to "buy political influence" in Britain.

Yet Mr Johnson insisted not all Russians should be tarred with the same brush - and there was nothing wrong with accepting Russian cash if donors were not guilty of "gross corruption".

There has been no suggestion of impropriety by Ms Chernukhin.

The Foreign Secretary was asked by the BBC's Andrew Marr Show about accepting the donation from Ms Chernukhin despite her husband, Vladimir, formerly serving in Russia's government.

This is simply hilarious. The British police say that maybe a mini-drone may have been used to spray the two Skripals while they sat on the bench (!),thus explaining the "lack of an evidence trail" of how they came to be poisoned! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I zink zat this calls for the legendary Inspector Clouseau to be summoned to unravel the mystery.Perhaps Poirot, Holmes and Watson,Ms.Marple,Perry Mason,Chief Inspector West, and our very own Inspector Ghote roped in to find the culprit or culprits and how the chemical agent was administered since the best of British bobbies are zimplyclueless!

Daughter of ex-Russian spy 'could have released nerve agent after opening gift'Huge 40 foot 'ghost' of Vladimir Putin 'haunts' Russians

Two weeks after being poisoned by a nerve agent in a pretty cathedral city, ex-Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia continue to fight for their lives in hospital.

And while a diplomatic row over the incident in Salisbury, Wiltshire, rages on, a host of elaborate theories have emerged of exactly how the pair may have been attacked.

We have already heard a wide range of ideas concerning how the Novichok was administered - from being dispensed via an aerosol spray to being hidden inside Yulia's suitcase.

And now, it has been claimed a miniature DRONE - specially designed for assassinations - could have been used to poison the 33-year-old and her 66-year-old former double agent dad.

MI5 agents reportedly fear Russia may have used the weaponised gadget to spray the nerve agent at the pair - with a source claiming this would explain the lack of an "evidence trail".

However, the Kremlin has denied allegations it sponsored the attack.

In another recent development, rejected as "nonsense" by British officials, Russia's EU ambassador has suggested a UK research laboratory could be the source of the poison.

Today, exactly a fortnight on from the poisoning, we look at the various theories of how Mr Skripal and Yulia may have been targeted - as they remain critically ill in hospital.

Mini drone
British intelligence sources fear a Russian assassination team could have used a weaponised miniature drone to poison Mr Skripal and Yulia, it was claimed today.

The gadget, carrying the nerve agent, may have hovered above the pair as they sat on a bench before spraying them with the substance, the Daily Star Sunday reports.

A source reportedly told the news site: “Every single possible scenario is being looked at. We know the Russians have been experimenting with weaponised miniature drones."

UK research lab
Russia's ambassador to the EU, Vladimir Chizhov, prompted a strong rebuttal when he suggested the poison may have come from the Porton Down laboratory, around eight miles from Salisbury.
He told the BBC's Andrew Marr Show that Russia had "nothing to do" with the incident.

When asked how Novichok came to be used in the city, he replied: "When you have a nerve agent or whatever, you check it against certain samples that you retain in your laboratories.

"And Porton Down, as we now all know, is the largest military facility in the United Kingdom that has been dealing with chemical weapons research. And it's actually only eight miles from Salisbury."
His comments were rejected as "nonsense" by UK officials.

A tampered suitcase
It was earlier reported that intelligence agencies believe the rare toxin could have been hidden in Yulia's suitcase and brought into the UK.
Agents were said to be working on the theory the substance was "impregnated" in clothing, cosmetics or a gift that was opened in her father's home.
The claims were reported by The Telegraph , which quoted anonymous sources.

An aerosol can
Mr Skripal and Yulia were discovered slumped on a bench near a shopping centre in Salisbury on March 4 after being poisoned with the nerve agent.

Coalition against Russia
But a far more sinister reality soon emerged. Within days of the attack, it was speculated the pair could have been targeted with an aerosol while sitting on the bench.

It was claimed the poison could have been sprayed in their faces.
Contaminated food or drink
After the aerosol can theory, another idea emerged - that the Skripals may have ingested food or drink tainted with the substance shortly before they were discovered.

The pair had visited a Zizzi restaurant and the Bishop's Mill pub in the hours before they were found, leading to speculation that they could have consumed the poison.

However, both this theory and the aerosol can one were debunked.

The investigation then seemed to focus on Mr Skripal's home.

It was also earlier claimed that the poison could have arrived at Mr Skripal's home via the post.
However, this, along with all of the other theories, remains only speculation.

Poisoned at a grave
At one point, police cordoned off the graves of Mr Skripal's wife Liudmila and their son Alexander.
:rotfl:

The tragic pair were laid to rest in a cemetery nearby.

And after their graves were sealed off by officers, a theory emerged that a bouquet of flowers may have been laced with the nerve agent and planted at the scene.
Hidden in a car
Theories have also focused on a car park where Mr Skripal left his car on the afternoon of March 4.

The former spy's burgundy BMW was analysed by investigators in full-body protective suits and masks, prompting speculation that the poison could have been planted in its ventilation system.

Other claims were that the toxin may have been smeared on the vehicle's door handles.

MAY'S SANCTIONS: 23 RUSSIAN DIPLOMATS EXPELLED AFTER SPY POISONING
Prime Minister Theresa May has pointed the finger at Russia, demanding answers from the Kremlin - and expelling 23 diplomats when Russian authorities failed to respond.

Setting out her position, Mrs May said: "Based on this capability, combined with their record of conducting state sponsored assassinations – including against former intelligence officers whom they regard as legitimate targets - the UK Government concluded it was highly likely that Russia was responsible for this reckless and despicable act.

"And there were only two plausible explanations.
"Either this was a direct act by the Russian State against our country.
"Or conceivably, the Russian government could have lost control of a military-grade nerve agent and allowed it to get into the hands of others."

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has labelled Russia's counter-measures "futile" as the diplomatic row over the nerve agent attack on Mr Skripal and Yulia continues.

Mr Johnson said the Kremlin's tit-for-tat expulsion of 23 British diplomats and the closures of the British consulate in St Petersburg and the British Council would only impact Russian President Vladimir Putin 's compatriots.

Writing in the Sun on Sunday, he said: "These futile measures will only punish ordinary Russians by depriving them of harmless opportunities to learn English and apply for UK visas.
"Today Russia stands alone and isolated. That fact demonstrates the most telling difference between Britain and Putin: we have friends across the world and he does not."

Prime Minister Theresa May had earlier said Britain and its allies would consider their next move and that the national security council would meet early next week.

While Mr Skripal and his daughter continue to fight for their lives, Detective Sergeant Nick Bailey, who was exposed to Novichok as he responded to the incident, is no longer considered critical.

Early yesterday, Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced it had ordered the British diplomats to leave within a week and indicated it could take further action should there be what it called more "unfriendly" moves.

Speaking at the Conservative Spring Forum, Mrs May said the Government had "anticipated" a similar response to her action earlier this week to expel 23 Russian diplomats from London.

Meanwhile, counter-terrorism police renewed their appeal for sightings of Mr Skripal's BMW 320D saloon car, registration HD09 WAO, in Salisbury on the morning he and Yulia were found.

Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu said: "We are learning more about Sergei and Yulia's movements but we need to be clearer around their exact movements on the morning of the incident."

Relatives in Russia have been suspicious of previous deaths in the Skripal family.

The ex-spy's wife Liudmila died of cancer in 2012, a year after they had bought their semi-detached home in Salisbury. Some neighbours thought she had died in a car crash.

Meanwhile, his son Alexander, 43, died last year while on holiday in St Petersburg, Russia, with his girlfriend. He had been rushed to hospital with liver failure, the BBC reported.

PS:I have a theory that might sound shocking but very plausible. Porton Down is just 8 miles away. What was Skripal,an ex-Russian agent doing living so close to Britain's foremeost centre for chem-bio warfare? It has now been acknowledged that Skripal was not living quietly in exile as a retired.pardoned spy, having been granted political asylum by the Brits, but secretly back at his old game of espionage,as he was in touch with both Brit. intel as well as sev. Ru entities in Britain and abroad. Skripal was with the GRU,the mil. intel wing of Ru intel services and therefore chem-bio warfare would be under the purview of the GRU whose job is obtain battlefield intelligence.Skripal's speciality may have been chem-bio weapons

His daughter amazingly, was in Russia, working in the US embassy and having a relationship with a Kremlin staffer, who some say was close to the Putin entourage.

Skripal therefore may have been in regular contact with Porton Down, and assisting the in Brit. clandestine ops against Russia and elsewhere. The accusations of Syrians using chem weapons, highly controversial and vehemently denied by the Syrians and Russians,as that was being used as a tool to get UN approval for strikes and regime change in Syria.Perhaps Skripal was given the nerve agent that supposedly has been used. One intriguing Q is,the speed with which the Brits announced the type of agent as being Novichok! Skripal must've had the agent at his house.Somehow he and his daughter got contaminated. There is a 4hr. window where their movements have not been determined. Where they handing over the nerve agent to
a compatriot for use in a covert op,let's say for argument's sake, even the assassination of Putin since Yulia was having an affair with a Kremlin staffer, supposed to be part of the presidential entourage, whose mother was against the relationship since Skripal was a traitor.

So what are the hard facts? After being pardoned 7 years earlier by the ru govt. and exchanged in a spy swap s a Brit.double-agent
1.Skripal was back to his old biz of spying, etc. he was in regular contact with Brit. intle and shadowy Ru entities.
2.He was living just 8 miles away from Porton Down, the chief centre for British bio-chem warfare.
3.His daughter was working right in the US embassy in Moscow!
4.She was having a relationship with a Russian staffer at the Kremlin, allegedly close to the Putin entourage.
Was her stormy relationship with her paramour was because he wouldn't do her bidding to carry out a task planned by brit. and US intel together,to nobble Putin? After all,the CIA made hundreds of attempts to killl Castro and failed! Truth is stranger than fiction.

One may think that my conjecture is far-fetched,but mine has far more hard facts than that of the bumbling buffoon, the British Foreign Sec.,BoJo! :rotfl: :rotfl:

The Austrian For.Min. Karin Kniessel said today in Brussels that it was premature to blame anyone until a proper investigation was completed. The French too have said something similar. The UK will find it hard going convincing the EU nations of their hasty conclusions that " bogeyman" Putin "dunnit".As more details emerge about the incident, it appears that the activities of the Skripals wasn't quite kosher and that the Brits are desperately trying to defame Putin and Russia at the moment of his foregone presidential election victory with this brazen incident.

Yes, it is a "wag the dog" moment for her.Just a few weeks ago she was v.v.shaky over Brexit, etc.The moves to oust her were still in play. The Russian bogey has come like a godsend to her, which raises suspicion that it was either a false flag op, or as I have postulated a covert op against Putin/ Russia that went terribly wrong.Skripal's daughter working in the US embassy in Moscow and her connection/ relationship with a Kremlin staffer is deliberately being underplayed by the mainstream media
controlled by the ruling elite.Even Corbyn's statement about "evidence" before blaming anyone is being used to crucify him ss if he was a Cold War Sov. spy.

Brit. police and intel agencies would've by now covered up all traces of the chen agent from the Skripal's residence, covering up any evidence that he was carrying the same for an op., probably passed on to the next link in the chain of operations during the missing 4 hr. period.

In the case of Dr.Kelly, Britain's chied chem WMD expert, found dead mysteriously in a wood , a supposed suicide, it has been strongly put forward in the UK by those with close contacts with the security establishment, that it was a clear case of murder and a huge cover-up op. put in place by Tony B.Liar.
This was allegedly done to prevent Dr.Kelly from testifying that Saddam had no chem WMDs which would've seen the British parliament never approve of the war against Iraq. A " dodgy dossier", "sexed up" was used to scaremonger British MPs vote to go to war.
Hans Blix, the head of the Intl.Atomic Energy Commission
repeatedly said the same, but was ignored by Dubya Bush and Blair.

Blix stated that over 700 inspections were made in Iraq and in no case was anything found to suggest that Saddam was working or possessed WMDs.He accused Bush of the mentality of " witch hunters of the past", the same attitude being used now by chief British "witch hunter" , Theresa May, hunting for evil Russians!

Corbin is an idiot sir. Hope he never comes anywhere near power. Paki loving , high tax , anti Semitic goon.

Not sure about the conspiracy theory. But will read your posts in detail.

But I have to ask - where is the India aganle in the India UK thread ?

Philip, Akshay these guys tend to play both ends through the middle and it appears that Skripal was still passing tidbits of information back to his old mates in Moscow for a fee according to the German press reports
When he was released as part of the exchange for Anna Chapman, the US thought he was a plant and refused him entry to the US under Obama, so he ended up living in genteel Salisbury which places him smack in the middle of the UK Area51...of course his old friends in Moscow would welcome any careless talk down at the pub in westbury.

Putin couldn't have poisoned Skripal – the Tories took so much Russian money he'd never have been able to afford poison
Theresa May has already shown how robust she is in opposing Putin. Because after Putin’s opponent Alexander Litvinenko was poisoned, she rejected setting up an inquiry into who did it. But that was different, because back then the Russians were kind poisoners

Mark Steel

Everybody knows Putin gave his money to the Conservatives so what’s the fuss about?

How dare anyone oppose the Government at this crucial time? We must all get behind them now, as they can be relied on to stand in determined opposition to the Russian menace. This is why the Conservatives have taken £3m in donations from Russian oligarchs since 2010. The plan is to take so much money off them that they’ve none left to spend on poison. :rotfl:

The Tories say that just because the money comes from Russians, it doesn’t mean it’s from supporters of Putin’s regime. This is a fair point. For example, Lubov Chernukhin, wife of Putin’s former deputy finance minister, paid £160,000 to play tennis with David Cameron and Boris Johnson. And I can’t see any reason why we should suspect she was ever a supporter of Putin.

I expect whenever Putin came round to her house, she said, “Hello, Mr Putin – I don’t care what my husband says, I think you should leave the Crimea alone and stop poisoning people and you look a right twat in your portraits, and please put your shirt on. Anyway, now that’s cleared up, would you like a vodka?” :rotfl:

Boris Johnson claims to be leading the world in being tough against the Russians, and this donation proves it. Because although his party took the money, I expect Boris taught Lubov Chernukhin a backhand slice that will usually cause the ball to go out and lose the point, causing humiliation for her and her evil oligarch friends.

This is how determined the Conservatives are – unlike Labour Party MPs, some of whom have even been paid to appear on Russia Today, the traitors. Other people have pointed out that Conservative MPs have received four times as much money for appearances on Russia Today than Labour MPs, but that’s different, because they’ve been on innocent bits of Russia Today, commentating on snooker or presenting a Russian version of Homes Under the Hammer in which a house in the Ukraine is demolished by the army with a giant hammer. Just a bit of frothy daytime TV fun.

Theresa May: ‘We do hold Russia culpable for this brazen, brazen act and despicable act’
Theresa May has already shown how robust she is in opposing Putin. Because after Putin’s opponent Alexander Litvinenko was poisoned, she rejected setting up an inquiry into who did it. Later she explained her decision, saying, “It is true that international relations were a factor in the government’s decision-making.” :rotfl:

But that was different, because back then the Russian government were kind poisoners. Their poison was tasty, with a delicate mix of flavours, grapefruit with a hint of fennel, not like these cruel slapdash types they send to Salisbury who wouldn’t get past the first round of The Great Russian Poison-Off.

Boris Johnson also proved his toughness on Putin by insisting we should carry out air strikes to assist him in Syria. Following a trip to Paris he wrote: “Many French people think the time has come to do a deal with their new friends the Russians, and I think they are broadly right… We should set aside our Cold War mindset.”

This is why he now sounds like Churchill in his unwavering demands for global opposition to Putin. Tomorrow he’ll be even clearer, and pronounce: “It is the duty of all right-thinking supporters of freedom and liberty to join me in standing forthright against the people I insisted we must be friends with. For the time has come to set aside our setting aside of the Cold War mindset, as the only true friends are those who were friends with our enemies until the other day. I hope that’s perfectly clear.” :rotfl:

With similar consistency, the City of London has been resolute over the years, insisting that no matter how much money Putin’s oligarchs may have, their money isn’t welcome in an institution as ethically pure as the British banking system. Our property developers have robustly resisted the temptation to allow any oligarchs to buy hundreds of flats by any rivers, leaving them empty while they wait for the value to rise. Try all day and you won’t think of a single football club that’s been bought by a Russian and flooded with cash so it can buy any player it likes, yet still gets trounced by Barcelona. :rotfl:

When the Soviet Union collapsed, some commentators rejoiced that now Russia was capitalist we had witnessed the “end of history”, and one Conservative theorist told us there would be eternal peace because “no two countries with a McDonalds ever go to war”.

Presumably Boris Johnson and Theresa May denounced these enthusiasts for the new regime as traitors, and at no point saw Putin as an ally, otherwise they would have to now shout in Parliament: “Some people, such as me, were such opponents of decency and democracy that we welcomed this brutal regime. I demand I apologise immediately and tattoo Lizzy Yarnold winning a gold medal in the Winter Olympics on my cheek in ink, to prove I’m not a traitor.”

They might get round to this in a while, but for now the most important thing is to call Jeremy Corbyn a traitor for suggesting the Government gets evidence before launching an international conflict. And you can see their point, because who could ever imagine Britain entering an international conflict on the basis of evidence that turned out to be a bit dodgy?

Even more encouraging are the measured arguments flooding the country, such as, “So you doubt the Government, do you?!? The fact you described Putin every day for 18 years as a filthy despicable megalomaniac homophobic gangster who should be eaten alive by parasitic wasps doesn’t hide the fact you obviously love him and want to marry him, you treacherous Putin-supporting ********.”

Nevertheless, if this is a new Cold War, at least we’re lucky enough to have people we can trust leading our side: Boris Johnson and Donald Trump.

In this controversial spat, the British, famed for their astute and sober diplomacy over centuries, are behaving like circus buffoons, while the Russians are behaving in the most sober manner possible! For. Min. Lavrov who has been very coll about the hysterical British accusations, appears to have been schooled in the Andrei Gromyko school of diplomacy, where it was once said that if you asked Gromyko to sit on a block of ice for an hour,he'd do it without moving an inch! It was also said of him that when meeting a new US ambassador in Moscow who tried to curry favour by paying him a personal compliment and how he loved Russia, blah, blah., that he replied thus: "I'm not interested in what you think about me or Russia or her people, but what your government thinks!"

Fears Russia could move to unmask British spies in bitter 'tit-for-tat' over poison attack
Exclusive: Senior members of Putin’s administration are incensed by what they consider to be aggressive and inflammatory remarks made by British ministers

Kim Sengupta Diplomatic Editor

Chemical weapons inspectors arrive in UK to investigate spy poisoning
Security officials are deeply concerned that the Kremlin may reveal the identities of British intelligence officers in the escalating and bitter confrontation following the Salisbury nerve agent attack, The Independent has learned.

The disclosure could start, it is feared, with those who work for MI6 and the 23 British diplomats being thrown out of Moscow in retaliation for the same number being expelled from the UK. Doing so would break standard protocol in place to protect spies from opposing sides, in recognition that exposing personal details may put them in danger including from terrorist attacks.

It has been the normal practice since the end of the Cold War to avoid leaking such information in these circumstances. The UK has not published the names of the 23 Russians who have been expelled and there are no plans to do so. Some senior members of Vladimir Putin’s administration are, however, incensed by what they consider to be aggressive and inflammatory remarks made by British ministers about Russia’s culpability over the attempted assassination of former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia and are said to be advocating drastic action.

Russia accused of building 'haystack of lies' over nerve agent attack
The media in the UK are requested to and generally adhere to the Sensitive Persons Information (SPI) agreement under which personal details of members of security, intelligence and counter-terrorist agencies, as well as special forces and the MoD are not put in the public domain.

But it is acknowledged that it would be impossible to keep these details totally secret in the days of the internet should the Russians choose to reveal them. There is also the worry that Moscow may want to carry out a wider dissemination of British security and intelligence information, possibly using a platform like WikiLeaks which had, in the past, been used to expose Western secrets.

WikiLeaks was also used to release 20,000 Democratic National Committee emails during the US presidential election campaign to undermine Hilary Clinton and help Donald Trump. The US President’s links with Moscow are currently under investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller.

Attempts by the UK to organise concerted international action against Moscow have, so far, been largely unsuccessful. Despite expressions of solidarity from the European Union there have been no moves for further sanctions.

Theresa May has not asked EU leaders for sanctions against Russia

Jean-Claude Juncker, the European Commission President, has congratulated Mr Putin on his re-election and has urged closer ties between the European Union and Moscow. And, in a major blow to Theresa May’s government, Donald Trump sent his own congratulations to Russia’s President, while at the same time pointedly failing to raise the issue of the Salisbury attack. :rotfl:

*(so much for Little Britain's puny efforts at launching an international

Mr Trump, presented by Tory right-wingers as the most staunch ally of post-Brexit Britain, ignored the warnings of his national security advisors whose briefing material, it has been reported, said in capital letters “DO NOT CONGRATULATE”. He also dismissed suggestions that he should make clear the US’s concerns over the nerve agent attack. The President described his conversation with Mr Putin as a “very good call.”

The British government is still threatening to take unilateral punitive measures against Russia. Appearing before the Commons Foreign Affairs Committee, Boris Johnson repeated his charge that Mr Putin was responsible for the Salisbury attack, saying: “The trail of responsibility for the assassination does lead inexorably back to the Kremlin. No matter how exactly it came to be done, the path of responsibility goes back to those at the top.” The poisoning, he added, was “a sign” from Mr Putin that “no one could escape the long arm of Russian revenge.”

Mr Johnson wanted to stress that investigations were continuing into wealthy Russians in the UK over possible economic crimes. The Foreign Secretary had taken £160,000 in donation to the Conservative Party for playing tennis with the wife of one of Mr Putin’s former ministers, and the same woman had also donated £30,000 to the party in return for having lunch with Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson. Mr Johnson had defended receiving the money, saying: “It’s very important that we do not allow a miasma of suspicion about all rich Russians in London to be created.”

A senior Whitehall official stated that Russian threats to disclose the identities of British intelligence officers were “utterly unjustified and irresponsible. They know we did not make public the names of those working under diplomatic credentials we expelled from this country. That list was carefully calibrated and we intend to maintain channels of communication.”

Some in the Russian diplomatic hierarchy are also urging caution. A former senior diplomat, who recently left the country’s foreign service, said: “This would be a drastic step if this is what they are thinking. But one needs to be especially careful. Both Russian and British people involved in intelligence face common enemies in Islamist terrorists and will be in danger if both sides start identifying each other’s officers.

“The British have produced no evidence of their claims about this nerve agent attack. Boris is saying a lot, but he always does, and we know he is not really taken seriously by most European governments. And we hear the new British defence minister made a fool of himself the other day. So it is best if everyone tries to remain calm and not do anything too drastic.” :rotfl:

The Kremlin has organised a briefing for foreign ambassadors in Moscow to give its defence of accusations over the Salisbury attack. A spokeswoman at the British embassy said that Laurie Bristow, the ambassador, has refused to attend. President Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, commented: “Yet one more eloquent manifestation of the absurd situation when questions are asked and an unwillingness is demonstrated to hear at least some kind of an answer.”

Now the Russians claim Britain has stocks of the deadly nerve agent!

Russian ambassador claims UK has stocks of Novichok nerve agent, in extraordinary press conference
Alexander Yakovenko says Salisbury events 'so complicated' it would take someone like Hercule Poirot to solve

*(It's only extraordinary when the Ru envoy makes a claim, not when buffoon BoJO claims that Putin personally ordered the "hit",without a shred of evidence!)

Russia's ambassador to the UK, Alexander Yakovenko, holds a news conference in the Russian Embassy in London Reuters
Britain had stores of the Novichok nerve agent before the poisoning of former spy Sergei Skripal, the Russian ambassador to London has claimed.

In an extraordinary and lengthy press conference, Alexander Yakovenko said the accounts around the events in Salisbury were so complicated it would take someone like fictional detective Hercule Poirot to solve the crime.

Mr Skripal and his daughter Yulia are in a critical condition after collapsing on a bench in Salisbury on 4 March. Britain accuses Russia of attempted murder but Russia denies involvement and says Britain has no evidence.

"We don't have any information," Mr Yakovenko told reporters. "The investigation is classified. We don't know the motivation of the British government, and that's why it says: this case is so complicated, we need, let's say, some wisdom of a person like Poirot to investigate."

The ambassador said Russia "can't take British words for granted" and that the UK had a "bad record of violating international law and misleading the international community".
"History shows that British statements must be verified. We demand full transparency of the investigation and full cooperation with Russia," he added.

Mr Yakovenko cast doubt on British assertions Novichok was the nerve agent used to poison Mr Skripal and Yulia, claiming Russian specialists think the pair would already be dead.

The 63-year-old also insisted Russia had no links to Cambridge Analytica, the firm at the centre of the Facebook data scandal. Mr Yakovenko was asked why he was pictured alongside Alexander Nix, the suspended chief executive of the firm.

"One day I was invited to the Windsor (polo) club, and the main prize was the Russia vodka, Ivan the Terrible. And the organisers asked me... why don't you give the prize to all the members of the team," he said.

"I gave the prize to maybe 10 people, 12 people, and that was the only time that I met this gentlemen. But the picture is good, I like it."

Over the years, Indian parties have flocked to arbitration centres in Singapore, London or Hong Kong to settle commercial disputes. According to the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Indian parties have consistently ranked amongst the top five foreign users of the SIAC in the last five years and India was the top foreign user of SIAC in 2013 and 2015. The other popular international arbitration destination for Indian parties is the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). In 2014, three percent of the LCIA’s cases included an Indian party, though that figure is down to negligible in 2015.

Then why do so many scamsters like the the Mallyas and Modis make a beeline for the UK and US to squat and enjoy their loot? They're not squatting in Moscow or Beijing! They're taking advantage of the very liberal laws in the UK which protect the financial criminal classes.
Boris Johnson took 16,000GBP from the wife of a Russian minister as a party donation, his party more than 3 million pounds, and they protest their innocence.

For exactly the same reasons that businesses go there. They can expect the courts to be independent of the ruling dispensation. Nobody goes to Moscow or Beijing, not even the children of the CPI leaders - Sitaram Yechuri's daughter lives in the UK ?

"Courts to be independent..."! What a laugh. There are umpteen EU nations and countries in the world where the courts are independent, why choose Britain particularly? Why not Germany? Or the Netherlands? It is because the British are the biggest hypocrites on the planet, accepting money from any source and turning a blind eye as to how it was obtained. Plus it is so easy in the UK to set up a foreign "non-dom" status ,by using an established legal tax haven, like residence in the Isle of Mann,Jersey, etc.I've no idea if Sitaram Yechury's daughter lives in the UK,what's wrong with that? Is she involved in a scam? Is she a willful absconder? That would then be a different matter! Check out how many relatives of BJP top brass/MPs,or any other Indian political party, babus in particular, etc. who also live or study in the US ,UK and abroad!

I will shortly give you list of some prize global scamsters, including one Christian Michel, the man alleged to be the kingpin in the AW helo scam, living it off in style in Blighty,London in particular.Isn't there another Verma of the "naval War Room" infamy also lounging it in London?

Meantime EU leaders back Britain, perhaps due to Brexit worries that an amicable deal on it may be threatened by the EU staying neutral in the UK-Ru spat over the Skripal affair.

EU recalls ambassador from Russia as leaders back May over Salisbury
Member states poised to expel diplomats as European Union leaders agree that Moscow is likely source of Salisbury attack

The European Union has recalled its ambassador from Moscow after leaders on the continent threw their weight behind Theresa May’s stance over the Salisbury attack. Several EU member states were poised to announce expulsions of diplomats, in a bid to dismantle Vladimir Putin’s spy network.

Following a summit in Brussels to discuss the response to the Salisbury nerve agent attack, EU leaders gave their full-throated backing to the prime minister by adopting a statement declaring it was “highly likely Russia is responsible” for poisoning Sergei Skripal and his daughter, Yulia.

Donald Tusk, the president of the European council, tweeted that all leaders agreed Russia’s responsibility for the attack was highly likely.
#EUCO agrees with UK government that highly likely Russia is responsible for #SalisburyAttack and that there is no other plausible explanation.

3:11 AM - Mar 23, 2018

In a significant point for May, the statement goes further than a declaration by foreign ministers earlier this week, which avoided pinning the blame on Russia. British diplomats believe that a strong message of solidarity with the UK, from Russia’s closest European neighbours, will hit home with President Putin.

France, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are understood to be considering expelling Russian diplomats, as requested by the UK government, in a coordinated strike against Moscow.

The Lithuanian president, Dalia Grybauskaitė, said: “All of us, we are considering such measures.” She added that she had not congratulated Putin on his election victory.

On Thursday night the Dutch prime minister, Mark Rutte, said the EU ambassador to Russia was being recalled to consult with Brussels over the Salisbury attack. Rutte said characterised this as a “measure” rather than a formal “sanction” against Moscow.

EU leaders discussed their response to the Salisbury poisoning over a European council summit dinner in Brussels. The UK prime minister told her fellow leaders the attack formed part of a long-term pattern of behaviour by Russia, and urged them to present a united front.

May said: “The challenge of Russia is one that will endure for years to come. As a European democracy, the UK will stand shoulder to shoulder with the EU and Nato to face these threats together. United, we will succeed.”

The statement issued by the council after the summit said: “The European council condemns in the strongest possible terms the recent attack in Salisbury, expresses its deepest sympathies to all whose lives have been threatened and lends its support to the ongoing investigation.

“We stand in unqualified solidarity with the United Kingdom in the face of this grave challenge to our shared security.”

Before the dinner, May met the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, and the French president, Emmanuel Macron, who have been robust in echoing Britain’s position.

A No 10 spokesman said: “The UK, Germany and France reaffirmed that there is no plausible explanation other than that the Russian state was responsible. The leaders agreed on the importance of sending a strong European message in response to Russia’s actions and agreed to remain in close contact in coming days.”

Britain expelled 23 Russian diplomats in retaliation for the attack. In the run-up to Thursday’s summit, British officials shared intelligence with their EU counterparts in an attempt to win them over to the prime minister’s view that the Russian state was responsible.

Earlier, not all EU leaders had appeared convinced of Russia’s involvement, however. The Greek prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, took a cautious line before talks with May.

“We have to express our solidarity to the UK, to the British people, but at the same time we need to investigate,” Tsipras said. Luxembourg’s prime minister, Xavier Bettel, a former criminal lawyer, said he wanted to hear what May had to say before making a decision.

May is keen to demonstrate that the UK will continue to cooperate closely on security matters with the EU even after Brexit, and warned her fellow EU leaders that she now believed Russia to present a long-term strategic threat.

Before the dinner, neither the president of the European commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, nor Tusk was willing to echo the British prime minister’s claim that Russia was now a strategic enemy.

The two EU leaders both insisted during a press conference on Thursday that they would only respond later.

Europe needs a collective defence strategy to counter Russia
Guy Verhofstadt

Lithuania’s foreign minister, Linas Linkevičius, appeared to call for the World Cup to be taken away from Russia. He said: “In Russia everything’s used for politics and to make Russia proud at being capital of this world religion football, I don’t believe it’s very productive frankly.”

Whitehall officials have said that Russia “has shown itself to be a strategic enemy, not a strategic partner”, pointing to a pattern of behaviour including cyber-attacks on countries including Germany, the US and Denmark and aggression in Syria and Ukraine.

Earlier, at a press conference in London on Thursday, Russia’s ambassador to the UK described Boris Johnson’s remarks comparing the World Cup in Russia to the 1936 Olympics as “unacceptable and totally irresponsible”.

Alexander Yakovenko complained that Britain had refused to cooperate with Moscow over the investigation into the Salisbury poisoning, saying: “We have seen no evidence.”

In UK a huge con is being pulled on people.
Govt has asked all councils to go tough on diesel cars.
Cars produce two harmful substances: CO2 & Nitrogen dioxide. Petrol produces more CO2 & Diesel produces more NO2.
So far focus was on CO2 understanbly but suddenly NO2 is being given more importance based on Dieselgate which surfaced in Germany.
Volkswagen was fudging numbers & showing its vehicles produce less NO2.
Carrying it forward UK govt has asked councils to go tough on Diesel cars: this means:
-any one buying a new diesel car will have to pay hefty tax upfront
-more strict fitness (MOT) test for diesel cars
-congestion charges & extra parking charges on diesel cars
(in London it could be £12/hour in places).
-old diesel cars to be phased out.

Till 5 years ago Diesel were considered better & even incentive was given to people to buy them but now govt wants every one to buy petrol/hybrid/electric cars.

There are very few electric/hybrid companies in foray & they are very pricy.

Sure. From EPA Understanding Global Warming Potentials

Spot on.Even mainstream Brit. media have started to Q their openness in admitting anyone who has a pocket full of money.Below are two old pieces. It has deteriorated so much that even its Foreign Sec. admits taking money from the wife of a Russian minister for a game of tennis ,plus his party 3M pounds, while he expels Russian diplomats!

UK, a Safe-house For Fugitives From India
November 7, 2016by Debu C
Why UK Remains a Safe Haven for Bad Boys of India

Money talks and it talks loudest in the UK. It is a fact that has emerged since the late ’60s and early ’70s when the UK and specifically, London, began to be known as the most sought after destination for global fugitives.

Illegal money is known to be routed through safe havens like Cayman Islands and parked in Swiss banks, but people behind that money mostly end up living in London. So much for British righteousness! When it comes to money, the British government is most welcoming while turning a blind eye to its source or the history of those who bring it.

Name a country and you will find a fugitive from that country living comfortably in the UK, as long as the person brings along the mandatory £2mn. Yes, hiding really is that easy!

Just as the international clamour for disclosures was rebuffed for years by the Swiss government, citing their secrecy laws while accepting cash, gold and other forms of deposits; the UK, too, cites its laws to turn a blind eye while allowing fugitives into their country, with few questions asked.

India has been a major victim to this practice. From downright criminals, fraudsters and scamsters to pro-Khalistan and Kashmiri militants, UK houses them all under various legal pretexts. Bottom line, they bring money into the UK and so the government looks the other way.
*(Never truer words were said!)

India has been asking the UK government to extradite/deport many of these elements, but has found itself wrong footed in the maze of British laws that are designed to protect and retain such dubious persons.

The numbers speak for themselves. India has submitted around 131 requests for extradition of persons who have cases of terrorism, murder, extortion, financial fraud, money laundering and espionage filed against them. The UK has only extradited 1 person until now. Had he challenged the extradition, he could have still been living in the UK. The British laws are designed to ensure a fugitive gets to stay on endlessly, as long as he fulfils the ‘financial’ criteria for his welcome.

*(In other words the UK has extradited zero,of those that challenged their extradition!) :rotfl:

It must be said here that a large part of the blame for the failure to *extradite lies in poor investigation, poor legal build-up of the case and inadequate submission of proof. All these have given the UK judicial system reasons for rejecting such cases.

There have been exceptions, though. When adequate pressure is applied, the British government more than bends itself backwards. The best example would be the ‘bottling up’ of Julian Assange in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, against all diplomatic norm and protocol, all on the ‘request’ of the US government. India does not enjoy that kind of leverage, but since the British Prime Minister is on her maiden India visit after taking office, it must apply all its diplomatic pressure to get the UK government to act.

Rogues who comprise the Hall of Shame for the UK

Lord Sudhir Choudhrie: This UK-based billionaire and arms dealer was awarded the Asian Business Lifetime Achievement Year Award 2013, by none other than the current British PM Theresa May, when she was Home Secretary. He is today being investigated for bribery in defence deals involving India. He has a Red Corner notice issued against him by the CBI.
Vijay Mallya: Wanted in the Kingfisher Airlines case for defaulting on Rs 9,000 crore loans, money laundering and fraud, he found a safe haven in the UK and continues to enjoy full British hospitality. Indian government is now trying for his extradition.
Lalit Modi: Wanted for corruption, fraud and financial irregularities, the IPL founder has cleverly invested in a Law firm in the UK that specializes in Interpol-related cases. He is apparently offering legal help and advice to his ‘buddy’ Vijay Mallya.
Tiger Hanif: A known aide of Dawood Ibrahim and wanted in the Gujarat blast case of 1993, he continues to enjoy British hospitality. His case for extradition has been sitting on Theresa May’s desk for the last 3 years while she served as Home Secretary, with no action taken.
Ravi Shankaran: Wanted in the Naval War-room espionage case in India, he continues to live happily in the UK.
Nadeem Saifi: Wanted for murder of music baron, Gulshan Kumar, Nadeem escaped to the UK and is now a British citizen living in the UAE. India cannot touch him as he is now a British citizen. Attempts to extradite him were rejected by the British Supreme Court in 2000.
Sanjeev Chawla: Chawla is wanted in the cricket bookie-scandal case involving Hansie Cronje, in 2000. Despite the Indian government’s repeated attempts to bring him back, he continues to remain in the UK.
But this is not all, the list of wanted men from India is as long as the legal road to extradite them.

The international list of persons who are known to have committed fraud, money laundering and other economic, criminal and political crimes have found a safe haven in the UK, as it continues to remain a favoured destination for dubious persons. Not a nation PM Theresa May would like to promote as she comes calling on India.

London is now the global money-laundering centre for the drug trade, says crime expert
Gomorrah author Roberto Saviano says 'the British treat it as not their problem'

James Hanning, David Connett Saturday 4 July 2015

Roberto Saviano says the City of London is the money-laundering centre of the world’s drug trade Getty
The City of London is the money-laundering centre of the world’s drug trade, according to an internationally acclaimed crime expert.

UK banks and financial services have ignored so-called “know your customer” rules designed to curb criminals’ abilities to launder the proceeds of crime, Roberto Saviano warned. Mr Saviano, author of the international bestseller Gomorrah, which exposed the workings of the Neapolitan crime organisation Camorra, said: “The British treat it as not their problem because there aren’t corpses on the street.”

His warning follows a National Crime Agency (NCA) threat assessment which stated: “We assess that hundreds of billions of US dollars of criminal money almost certainly continue to be laundered through UK banks, including their subsidiaries, each year.”

Last month, the NCA warned that despite the UK’s role in developing international standards to tackle money laundering, the continued extent of it amounts to a “strategic threat to the UK’s economy and reputation”. It added that the same money-laundering networks used by organised crime were being used by terrorists as well.

Interviewed by The Independent on Sunday, Mr Saviano said of the international drugs trade that “Mexico is its heart and London is its head”. He said the cheapness and the ease of laundering dirty money through UK-based banks gave London a key role in drugs trade. “Antonio Maria Costa of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime found that drug trafficking organisations were blatantly recycling dirty money through European and American banks, but no one takes any notice,” he said. “He found that banks were welcoming dirty money because they need cash, liquidity during the financial crisis. The figures are too big to be rejected …. Yet there was no reaction.”

Referring to HSBC’s record $1.9bn (£1.2bn) US fine for money laundering for the Mexican Sinaloa drugs cartel in 2012, Mr Saviano said: “The biggest UK bank! Yet it has scarcely been written about. The British treat it as not their problem, because there aren’t corpses on the streets.

“They think it’s all happening ‘over there somewhere’, so they needn’t worry about it. Sure, HSBC has been reported but there has been no debate. You need to fill the papers. The intellectuals have said nothing. [David] Cameron has said nothing. It’s his country. How can he say nothing on such a piece of news?”

US justice officials concluded HSBC was guilty of “stunning failures of oversight – and worse, that led the bank to permit narcotics traffickers and others to launder hundreds of millions of dollars through HSBC subsidiaries and facilitate hundreds of millions more in transactions with sanctioned countries”, including money banked for Middle East terror groups.

He accused the British Government, together with Austria, of consistently blocking anti-money-laundering moves by the European Union. “They will carry on like that until someone gets killed here by the Russians or the Italians. ” he said. Mr Saviano said he feared one reason was because banks are a key source of political funding.

“Every time there’s an election campaign, I wonder if someone will come forward and start a campaign on money laundering ... but it never happens. The reason, I am convinced but I don’t have the proof, is that a good part of the money that comes from money laundering goes into the election campaign. Not illegally, legally, because it can come in because of a lack of regulation.”

Labour MP David Lammy is worried about London’s dirty money (Getty)

Twenty years ago, drug money was laundered offshore because the top international banks “were afraid of opening their doors to dirty money, they were afraid of losing control”, he said. “The more criminal capital comes in, the more criminals there are on the boards. The Mafia set up its own bank, Michele Sindona’s Banca Privata Finanziaria, and the other banks would have nothing to do with them,” he said. “Not any more. Now, because of the problem of cash, they can’t wait to get the Mafia organisations in.”

Labour MP David Lammy, who met Mr Saviano last week, said the UK needed to take “very seriously” his claims about its financial services’ role in the international drugs trade. Mr Lammy, who is seeking to become Mayor of London in 2016, said: “We are rightly proud of our financial services industry in this country, but we cannot afford to be complacent.

“I am particularly concerned that London’s inflated property prices are fuelled by dirty money and I will do everything in my power as mayor to ensure that money laundering and tax evasion are rooted out by the authorities.”

A further major concern is about what the influx of foreign wealth is doing to the common weal and the integrity of this government. Last Monday, a Foreign Office official was pictured carrying a confidential report for David Cameron, advising how to respond to Crimea. It recommended that Britain should, "not support, for now trade sanctions," nor should it, "close London's financial centre to Russians". On Friday, Ben Judah wrote an angryarticle for the New York Times, that, judging from its response in blogs and on Twitter, hit a nerve. While the White House has imposed visa restrictions and President Obama has issued an executive order enabling further sanctions, Judah pointed out: "Britain is ready to protect the City of London's hold on dirty Russian money. And forget about Ukraine. … It has turned back to the pirate England of Sir Walter Raleigh…" Judah charged.

Meanwhile,as nations are tripping over themselves to expel Russian "spies",poor little new Zealand admits that it hans't found any in the Russian embassy at all! :rotfl:

But don't laugh too soon.Just leave it to the British who will before you can send an email to Auckland would've "identified" the Russian "spies" lurking in the embassy in NZ.They will swear on any holy book to the "All Blacks",that the men and women maybe, are truly "spies".

As countries around the world deport diplomats in solidarity with UK, Jacinda Ardern says ‘there are no individuals in New Zealand who fit profile’ of a spy

New Zealand’s prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, and foreign affairs minister, Winston Peters, say they would expel Russian spies from the country, if there were any.

More than 100 Russian diplomats alleged to be spies in western countries have been told to return to Moscow, in response to the use of a chemical weapon in the attempted murder of Sergei Skripal, a former Russia/UK double agent, and his daughter, Yulia, in Salisbury, England on 4 March.

The New Zealand government has condemned the attack and supports the international action, but says there are no such “Russian intelligence agents” in the country.

US and EU expel scores of Russian diplomats over Skripal attack

The Russian ambassador to New Zealand was summoned to a meeting “to reiterate our serious concern” over the Salisbury attack.

“While other countries have announced they are expelling undeclared Russian intelligence agents, officials have advised there are no individuals here in New Zealand who fit this profile. If there were, we would have already taken action,” said Ardern.

She said New Zealand will review what further action it can take to support the international community over the attack.

“We remain steadfast with our international partners in our shared concern about the Salisbury nerve agent attack,” Ardern said.

Peters said New Zealand has been clear in expressing its condemnation over the attack.

Beauty of this sitcom is that it is always (and everyday) relevant. It was so well written. It is a must for anybody who wants to understand UK politics.

Well that is a different question which Indian law enforcement has to answer. But it has no bearing on the British response to crooks seeking refuge.

Please, no "ji" for me. Thanks.

Precisely what I'm saying. If British laws allows for someone to contest deportation for whatever reason, leaning on their politicians or calling in a favour won't make a difference. Solid Indian businesses operate out of the UK too.

The gazette information of all Indian extradition treaties is here:
MEA List of Extradition Treaty Agreements
India-UK Extradition Treaty of 1992. In force since Dec 30 1993
The British have rejected extradition requests on the following grounds (not a complete list, just what I found):
* concern of 'inhumane prison conditions' at Tihar Jail
* 'unusually long delay in extradition request' (20+ years)

It would be interesting to have a list of all rejected requests by either side, and the basis ascribed.

I can remember Nadeem-Shravan fled to UK in early 90's after Gulshan Kumar murder and Mumbai Police traced them to be responsible for the murder but they were not extradited , same goes for Iqbal Mirchi too IIRC.......If you are high network worth individual then you wont be extradited from UK no matter what thats a gurantee hence all these rich folks from India prefer to settle there after all their crimes

Lavrov: Swiss lab says ‘BZ toxin’ used in Salisbury, not produced in Russia, was in US & UK service

https://www.rt.com/news/424149-skripal- ... bz-lavrov/
The substance used on Sergei Skripal was an agent called BZ, according to a Swiss lab, the Russian foreign minister said. The toxin was never produced in Russia, but was in service in the US, UK, and other NATO states.

Sergei Skripal, a former Russian double agent, and his daughter Yulia were poisoned with an incapacitating toxin known as 3-Quinuclidinyl benzilate or BZ, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, citing the results of the examination conducted by a Swiss chemical lab that worked with the samples that London handed over to the Organisation for the Prohibition of the Chemical Weapons (OPCW).

The Swiss center sent the results to the OPCW. However, the UN chemical watchdog limited itself only to confirming the formula of the substance used to poison the Skripals in its final report without mentioning anything about the other facts presented in the Swiss document, the Russian foreign minister added. He went on to say that Moscow would ask the OPCW about its decision to not include any other information provided by the Swiss in its report.
