Ganja Throws Caution To The Wind. Fast Becoming A Loose Canon

Nawaz Sharif warns of exposing players behind 2014 sit-ins at the proper time
SLAMABAD – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif reiterated his claims that many characters were behind the twin sit-ins staged by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek in 2014, warning that he will reveal their names when the time comes.
Speaking to newsmen inside the accountability court on Wednesday, the supreme leader of ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz expressed that Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri were amongst many characters who played their part in the protests.
To a query regarding PTI’s rejection of forming a national commission in light of the recent treason allegations against him, the former premier said that PTI neither had character nor any ideology.
“The Imran Khan-led party does not have faith in our slogan of ‘respect the vote’,” Nawaz asserted.
Nawaz Sharif and his sons Hussain and Hasan are accused in all three references whereas his daughter Maryam and son-in-law MNA Capt (retd) Safdar are named in the Avenfield reference only.Hussian and Hassan Nawaz are UK-based and have been absconding since the proceedings began last year, however, the former premier has been showing up regularly before the court of judge Muhammad Bashir.
Ganja has reached a stage where he feels that he has "nothing to lose" by saying all these things. If he is going to jail anyways, might as well, bring down "the good name of Pakistan" too. !

Pakistan Is Still Interested In Being "America's Girlfriend" In Spite Of Wooing Russia Recently

Breakthrough in Pak US ties, High level delegation to arrive in Islamabad to address Pakistani reservations: Sources
May 16, 2018
KARACHI: Tensions between Pakistan and the US have simmered down after Col Joseph, the US military attache responsible for the death of a young Pakistani man by running a red traffic light was able to leave country.American authorities, insiders added, have reassured their Pakistani counterparts that they want good relations with Pakistan. The Trump administration has sped efforts up on a diplomatic level to address Pakistan’s reservations, with some high level officials due to visit the country soon. Followed by promises of "tons and tons of money" !
It is reported that the Trump administration might remove the restrictions it imposed on Pakistani diplomats, stationed in the US . According to a high level government source, many American diplomats have been in contact with their Pakistani counterparts over the man’s death.
According to sources, the federal government had not allowed Col Joseph to leave as the situation was being reviewed under the Vienna Convention rules, as Pakistan is bound to follow it. The Amreeki danda inserted ! Not sure if inserted with or without vaseline
Sources say that Pakistan will keep its policy of “no do more” and equal bilateral relations with the United States.

Deals worth millions of dollars in Pakistan oil and gas sector signed
May 16, 2018

If one reads the farticle carefully, one gets the impression that this is just a "wish list" . Nothing has been signed yet ! Statements were at certain conferences. Papers were presented . And lo and behold, it morphed itself into these tantalizing headlines.
Proves once again the hypothesis that when action is lacking in Pakiland ( for whatever myriad reasons !) buzz words will make up the slack .

According To This Paki Paper, UK Is The Favourite Dumping Ground For Laundered Money From Pakistan !

UK top pick for Pakistani politicians’ laundered money
LONDON: The National Crime Agency (NCA) has said the UK is a prime destination for the corrupt foreign Politically Exposed Persons (PEPS) to launder the proceeds of corruption, particularly those from Russia, Nigeria and Pakistan.
It said: “The money laundering potentially running to hundreds of billions of pounds impacts the UK annually, with a significant threat being posed by the criminal exploitation of accounting and legal professionals involved with trust and company provision.
The UK is a prime destination for the corrupt foreign Politically Exposed Persons to launder the proceeds of corruption, particularly those from Russia, Nigeria and Pakistan.
It’s understood that hundreds of Pakistanis have invested money in the UK, unknown to authorities in Pakistan. Leaders from almost every major political party have invested money across the UK, mainly from the PPP, the PML-N and the PTI. IMO, Dus Percenti is # 1, followed by Ganja and then Immy !
When a new law called the Unexplained Wealth Orders (UWO) was introduced earlier this year, reports in Pakistan said it will apply to the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his sons Hasan and Hussain Nawaz but the UK authorities have confirmed that the UWO will apply only to PEPs who are not British nationals and not from the European Economic Area (EEA). Hasan Nawaz Sharif, his family and Hussain Nawaz Sharif carry British nationalities. So, Ganja's two sons cannot be "touched" !

A Primer On How Censorship In FATA Is Implemented By The Deep State.

OPINION: Policing the web in Pakistan
In order for a secret to remain a secret, everyone who knows it must agree – or be forced – not to tell others. A single whistleblower has the potential to overturn the efforts of dozens of other people who may be trying to keep something a secret.
n Pakistan, it is the activities of the military – especially its actions in the regions of FATA and Balochistan – that are kept a tightly-held secret. What goes in FATA & Balochistan stays in FATA & Balochistan.
A number of tools have been employed to main the secret and control the narrative. The most prominent include controlling physical access to the regions, and offering carrots and sticks to journalists and media owners.
Controlling physical access is relatively easy. A vast network of security checkposts makes it near impossible for journalists to visit these regions without the knowledge and permission of military authorities. And while just visiting FATA & Balochistan is difficult enough, doing journalism independently and without the explicit approval of the authorities can land you in serious trouble. This is enough to prevent most outside journalists from even trying to access these areas independently. Any journalist that does get permission are usually given a guided tour embedded with the military, rather than be allowed to roam freely.
Leave aside erecting checkposts to hinder journalistic access, these barriers are also being used to hinder access to residents of the region, as explained by Manzoor Pashteen in a recent TV Talk Show !
This means that the only entity that has access to the region, and that can provide news about what is happening inside it is the military. The military’s propaganda agency, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issues regular press releases about the number of terrorists it has killed, and because there is no way to verify it independently, most media outlets run the ISPR news as fact. The MSM is often coerced into publishing the same !
The carrots and sticks for journalists and media owners are numerous. The carrots include preferential treatment, exclusive interviews and news “leaks” from the military, as well as junkets and embedded tours. The sticks include threatening late-night phone calls, violent attacks, enforced abductions, murder (such as was the fate of Saleem Shahzad), or unofficial bans on an entire media group, as happened to the Jang/Geo group recently. For eg. Wajahat Khan, the "darling journo" of the Deep State has sometimes become the mouthpiece of the Deep State, in exchange for getting access to no -go areas !
In recent years, the Internet and social media has played an increasingly important role in bypassing the carrots, sticks and access restrictions. Individuals and groups – both anonymous and identified – living in the conflict zones are able to record and share news without needing to rely on traditional media outlets. They are the whistleblowers of the Pakistani state’s (read military) open and unspoken secrets. Sometimes faujis are caught on camera abusing their authority . Like the recent beatings of Balochi youth at a military training school in Mastung !
Of course, the state quickly came around and started to respond – largely by crude means of censorship. In the past, the Pakistani government has blocked Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Blogger and scores of websites because of political and religious content. Dozens of websites run by Baloch nationalist and separatist have and remain blocked. Even the RollingStone.com was blocked in 2011 after it published an article about Pakistan’s “insane military spending”. The technology that Pakistan’s government uses to carry out its mass web censorship is provided by a Canadian software company called Netsweeper.
As social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube became increasingly popular, it became untenable for the government to block these sites entirely. And it was technically impossible for the Pakistani government to unilaterally any single page or account on any of these sites after they adopted SSL/TLS encryption. The Pakistani government has to make requests to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to block individual sites, which they can choose to carry out at their discretion.
Over the past 2 years, a number of social media users have either been forcibly abducted or arrested under the recently-passed Draconian cybercrime law for posts critical of the military. There are daily reports of such disappearances . Just recently a University of Karachi Chemistry Professor was abducted from his home and as yet has not been found !
ust weeks ago, the Twitter account of FATA activist Manzoor Pashteen was temporarily blocked. Pashteen is the leader of a newly emerged popular movement for Pashtun rights, who has openly spoken about the apparent collusion between the military and the Taliban. The movement – called the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) – has relied almost entirely on social media to mobilise people as there has been a near blanket ban on the PTM on mainstream media outlets (widely believed to be due to military pressure).
In parts of FATA and Balochistan, access to the Internet and cellular services is sporadic or expensive. This may because it is not profitable for telecom companies to expand their network in these regions, but it does nonetheless also conveniently limit the use of social media there. At a PTM inspired rally in South Waziristan last week, hundreds of local youth demanded the provision of 3G cellular services. Their slogan was “We need 3G internet, not G3 guns”.
Technology has its limits. It can serve as a useful and essential catalyst for mass movement, but it can not be the basis for a mass movement. More ominously, as we have already started seeing, technology and social media have the equal potential to be exploited by those in power to maintain the status quo.

Paki Newspaper DAWN Now Being Made Target Of Deep State Censorship

WHISTLEBLOW FOR US: The post #DawnLeaks scenario
By a whistleblower
May 14, 2018
Safe Newsroom
In 2016, a front-page story in Pakistan’s leading English daily triggered a crisis in the Pakistani media. While some were celebrating the newspaper’s audacity, most quarters dubbed it a treacherous act, tantamount to compromising the national security of the country.
What was the story about? It was an account of a meeting between the top brass of the all-powerful military, and the heads of the civilian leadership. The subject of the meeting? National security concerns, specifically, Pakistan’s increasing international isolation and it’s branding as a state-sponsor of non-state militant and terrorist actors. The content of the story came as no surprise to anyone who has ever been a student Pakistan’s political history.
Because of this so-called leak, the DAWN journo, Cyril Almeida had to flee Pakistan for his life. And forced to seek shelter in NYC . H returned back to Pakiland, when things cooled down.
It is common knowledge that Islamabad has long used militant actors, such as the Afghan mujahideen, and later the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, to complement its policy of strategic depth on the Western border with Afghanistan. Similar tactics have also been employed on the eastern front, with freedom fighters being armed and infiltrated into Indian-administered Kashmir over decades.
What happened next is history. The author of the story, Cyril Almeida, became a household name overnight for all the wrong reasons. He and the newspaper he writes for were branded anti-state and treacherous, and the state began a military-led witch-hunt for his elusive source.
But as the drama unfolded in the public eye, most visibly over Twitter, where no less than the head of the armed forces’ PR behemoth held forth, things were not going too well for the newspaper in question. Think-tanks and other organisations began to drop DAWN from their mailing lists and sources began to refuse requests for comment from DAWN reporters, even on matters unrelated to national security. At one point, a senior beat reporter complained that his sources were drying up because officials were wary of talking to anyone from DAWN because their phones would be tapped.
Now the Deep State has "used" EXPRESS TRIBUNE , a competitor of DAWN as its favourite media organ !
An inquiry committee, consisting of top personnel from the country’s premier intelligence agencies, was formed to sniff out the mole who had leaked sensitive information about a classified meeting. The inquiry’s political fallout was public knowledge: Pervaiz Rashid and Tariq Fatemi lost their cabinet jobs and Rao Tehsin lost his multi-million rupee pension.
What most people don’t know about this inquest was that the net was cast awfully wide. For example, the paper’s regular national security correspondent had been on leave when the story appeared in print. Once back, the journalist in question was habitually denied access to routine press statements issued by the military, mostly out of spite. The EXPRESS TRIBUNE was preferred, although Dawn newspaper itself was founded by Mohamed Ali Jinnah, the creator of Pakiland !
Several staff members received summons from the inquiry committee; some were interrogated or intimidated, or both. A few were offered ‘amnesty’ if they falsified testimony to implicate the author of the story and the editor, but none of it worked. Mr Almeida’s phone and laptop were also requisitioned, few know if they were ever turned over. Now many in Deep State are again calling for Almeida's head, as the recent "anti-Pakistan" statement re Mumbai Attack was given by Ganja via Almeida piece in DAWN
On social media, internal company information was leaked and hashtags bearing employees’ names were trended. There were trends linking the media group’s owners and editors to everyone from R&AW, CIA and Mossad; even their photographs were circulated along with a litany of abuse. The newspaper was even declared a ‘pawn’ of Narendra Modi. It seemed as if what happened to the Jang Group not too long ago would happen to DAWN as well. To their credit, the people incharge of DAWN managed to prevent that from happening. But at what cost?
The fact that DJinnah had a connection with the newspaper, and DAWN owners are fairly influential in Paki politics , may have been a main factor !
All of this obviously had an effect on the quality and quantity of journalism produced by the newspaper. There was an unsaid reluctance on the part of the management to print much that was critical of the ruling party, the military or Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, who was one of the few within the civilian government leading the charge against the paper.
Routine stories critical of the hot-headed minister would be killed for a lack of named sources, as would anonymously sourced reports about meeting between the top brass and civilian leaders. Any mediaperson will tell you that such information is always revealed on the condition of anonymity and is true more often than it is not. For the duration of the Dawn leaks controversy, however, such stories would not make it to print. The newspaper had to be careful that it did cross the red lines of the military
Things became so dire that at one point a reporter, who was known to have links with the military, was told to jump ship or risk becoming collateral damage. Ironically, the same person boasted he had turned down the offending story when it was offered to him. A rookie mistake, he reasoned. The armchair journalist got used, he said. Only he and a handful of others know if his account is true or not, but he soon left for greener pastures and since become a radical voice on the Tehreek-i-Labbaik’s personal news channel, 92.
journos for sale !
The final recommendations of the inquiry committee did not make things better. As the Associated Press of Pakistan reported, “the committee recommended that the role of daily Dawn/Zafar Abbas/Cyril Almeida, in the instant case, may be referred to All Pakistan Newspapers Society with a direction to take disciplinary action against Daily Dawn/Zafar Abbas/Cyril Almeida, besides developing a Code of Conduct for publishing stories on issues of national importance and security by abiding to the basic journalistic and editorial norms”.
This Sword of Damocles continues to hang over DAWN’s figurative head to this day. No one knows what action, if any, has been taken against DAWN in this instance, and very few people know if any such thing will ever happen. What is clear is that it took a lot of arm twisting and negotiating to save DAWN from going the way of Jang/Geo, and for a paper that prides itself on editorial independence, this was certainly an issue of integrity, one which the paper may never live down. The newspaper and its star reporter, Cyril Almeida may yet become a casualty of the recent Ganja revelations !!!

Defence Housing Authority Asks Owners To Make Sure That Their Servants Do Not Talk With Servants Of Other Owners

DHA asks residents not to let servants ‘mingle’
LAHORE: Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Lahore on Wednesday asked its residents not to allow their drivers and other domestic servants to socially interact with others in the neighbourhood in a bid to “control the increasing number of thefts and other social evils”. Socializing with one another is a basic human right !
In a text message, a screengrab of which has been making rounds on the social media, DHA Security advised the people of the community to bar their “servants to sit outside the houses in groups as they exchange information about owners” and added, “This leads to thefts and other social evils like teasing, staring and clicking the ladies in the streets.”
“You are requested to exercise strict control over your servants/drivers in order to curb their habit of sitting in groups which invariably becomes a breeding spot for social crimes,” the message concluded. IMO, the day is not far off , when a Khomeni type revolution is likely to occur in Pakiland. Some sort of a charismatic leader is all that is required !
Speaking to Pakistan Today, human rights’ activist and lawyer Shahzeb Bukhari said that the authorities of DHA had violated the right of association of workers that was guaranteed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Constitution.
Criticising the step, he said that it was nothing but an absurd way to stop crime as it was the right of every person to sit with others and chat. “It is ridiculous to deprive someone of their right because ‘it allegedly leads to crime’,” he said.
“A better solution to prevent crime is to promote equality. You won’t need to waste resources on policing people if you only give people a better life,” said Shahzeb.
Meanwhile, DHA Security authorities expressed ignorance – regardless the fact that the message was bulk sent by DHA Security – and said it might have anything to do with the human resource department. However, an official of the authority while speaking to Pakistan Today on the condition of anonymity said that the officials were trying to make up for their action that had “backfired” following its circulation over social media. They also told that it wasn’t the first time such a text message had been circulated and it was, in fact, a routine.
It is pertinent to note here that this isn’t the first time the plight of domestic helpers in Pakistan has been highlighted as numerous cases of violence and maltreatment of domestic helpers have surfaced within the short span of a year. In spite of all this BS talk about how Malsi is a bonding factor in Pakiland and how Islam is an "equalizer" between the rich and the poor ( just because they happen to pray in the same local masjid !) the way they have been treating their servants and domestic help says a lot about the kind of class resentment that they are creating

Political Horse Trading Season Begins In Pakiland ! Time To Pick , Choose And Woe Rival "Star" Candidates For Your Party :D

Pakistani elections’ transfer window
K.K. Shahid
As football seasons around the globe are drawing to their ends, a new kind of transfer window has opened in Pakistan: that of exchanging politicians between political parties. And with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s claim of landing the political equivalent of Cristiano Ronaldo – okay, maybe Gareth Bale would be more accurate if the man in question is a certain Nisar – the news of Javed Hashmi going the other way has struck most like lightning. Whether it has set your world on fire or alight, depends upon your political affiliations. Football analogy used to explained Paki politics!
Although Multan’s NA-149 is considered to be Hashmi’s stronghold given the spiritual relevance he holds in the area, however, his influence extends much, much farther. He has a history of contesting and winning elections in constituencies in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and the federal capital Islamabad. NA-48, the constituency from which Hashmi won in 2013, and the constituency which PTI’s Asad Umar currently holds, lies in the very heart of Islamabad. He is an ace up any party’s sleeve; one that can be used in various key constituencies – which is why coaxing him back into the party smack in the middle of the election season, is a power-stroke for PML-N; especially because he can prove to be very useful against two of PTI’s heavyweights: Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Asad Umar.
Hashmi shares constituencies with both, with the former in Multan and with the latter in Islamabad. Qureshi and Hashmi have enough in common to be bitter rivals: their strong agricultural background (both are two of the three biggest feudal lords of Multan, with the third being Yousuf Raza Gillani), their “saintly” status in their hometown (another trait shared by Gilani) and their neighbouring constituencies, NA-149 for Hashmi and NA-150 for Qureshi. It is hard to pick a winner should both choose to contest from the same constituency in Multan (something Hashmi challenged Qureshi to, back in 2014), as they both have strong political, social, and economic backgrounds, and their “head-to-head” is balanced at 1-1 – while Hashmi beat Qureshi in 1997, the former had the last laugh, beating his rival in their hometown of Multan in 2013. This is probably why Hashmi is smarting a little to this day, which is why he challenged Qureshi to the seat in NA-150 (Qureshi’s stronghold) and which is why it should be fun to see them lock horns in the upcoming elections. Despite them not considering each other as rivals (they’re as adverse to each other as Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola, only a little more civilised – perhaps) the prospect of their contest is one that calls for fresh popcorn and chilled soda.
A lifeline for the fledgling PML-N? Definitely. Hashmi’s move has added a little more spice to the upcoming elections, and we wait – armed with our cans of soda and buckets of popcorn – for the 15th of July to arrive and unravel another political drama before our eyes. Hashmi has come out lately blasting the fauj and helping out Ganja in this time of need !

Some Things Don't Change In Pakiland . Today Is No Different

When Ayub Khan Accused Fatima Jinnah Of Being An Indian And American Agent
by YLH | November 26, 2009 · 3:25 pm- Old Time Date, But Still Relevant As Ever ! :D ( Re Nawaz!)
This story is from the Time Magazine datelined Christmas Day 1964. It sheds interesting light on how far back this game of the security establishment conjuring up images of US-India collusion go. Ayub Khan actually accused Fatima Jinnah of being pro-Indian and pro-American. Oldest trick in the security establishment’s book. -YLH In retrospect it seems that Ayub himself was in bed with the Americans - His FM. ( ZAB ) once accused him of that !
“They call her the Mother of the Nation,” sniffed Pakistan’s President Mohammed Ayub Khan. “Then she should at least behave like a mother.” What upset Ayub was that Fatima Jinnah looked so good in pants. The more she upbraided Ayub, the louder Pakistanis cheered the frail figure in her shalwar (baggy white silk trousers). By last week, with Pakistan’s first presidential election only a fortnight away, opposition to Ayub had reached a pitch unequaled in his six years of autocratic rule.
The Big Stick. White-haired Miss Jinnah, 71, the candidate of five ragtag and usually disunited opposition parties, was picked mainly because she was the sister and confidante of the late revered Mohammed Ali Jinnah, father of his nation’s independence. But Pakistan’s response to her razor-tongued attacks on Ayub’s highhanded ways has surprised and shocked the government. Students throughout the nation staged angry protest marches against the regime, and at least one demonstrator was killed by police in Karachi. DOWN WITH THE AYUB DICTATORSHIP, cried posters in the East Pakistan city of Dacca, where students enthusiastically proclaimed Miss Fatima Jinnah Week. In Karachi, Pakistan’s biggest city, student unrest prompted the government to close all the schools indefinitely. Ganja is also being accused of being an An Indian Agent !
Most legal groups in Pakistan have come out for Miss Jinnah, and were denounced by Ayub as “mischiefmongers.” In reply, the Karachi Bar Association overwhelmingly adopted a resolution urging “the party in power to get rid of the notion that wisdom, righteousness and patriotism are the monopoly of their yes men.” The usually complaisant newspaper editors defied the regime’s attempts to make them endorse a restrictive new press law.
To Ayub’s claim that he is trying to develop “basic democracy,” Miss Jinnah replied: “What sort of democracy is that? One man’s democracy? Fifty persons’ democracy?” As for Ayub’s charge that the country would revert to chaos if he is defeated, his rival snapped: “You can’t have stability through compulsion, force and the big stick.” Ayub had once made a statement saying that democracy is not suitable for the "hot" climate of Pakiland !!
Running Scared. Actually, Ayub has been a reluctant and benevolent dictator, who has vastly improved the stability of a country that was paralyzed by squabbling politicians before he took over. Considering Pakistan’s backwardness and poverty, the Ayub-designed electoral system is not half bad, giving the vote to 80,000 middle-and upper-class electors. While that is a tiny percentage in a total population of 110 million, most of those millions are not only illiterate but totally ignorant of political issues. With heavy support in rural areas, where many Moslem electors particularly disapprove of a woman’s candidacy and where Ayub’s economic reforms have helped more than in the cities, Ayub is still expected to win the election by some 60% of the vote.
At closed meetings with groups of electors, Ayub answered practical questions sensibly enough, but kept lashing out at the opposition with growing anger. Countering Miss Jinnah’s repeated charge that he had been unable to restrain the U.S. from helping Pakistan’s No. 1 adversary, India, he set out to portray her as pro-Indian and pro-American. Ayub’s campaign, in fact, was turning increasingly anti-American. In those days, the Jamaat E Islami party was considered a Pro American Party !
Though U.S. aid (about $5 billion since 1951) is vital to the nation’s wretched economy, a leading member of Ayub’s party cried: “America never was our friend and never could be, because as a nation aligned with the anticolonial movements, we are at cross-purposes with America.” As for Ayub, he plainly regretted ever calling elections in the first place. For after six years of insisting that Pakistanis were not ready for democracy, the campaign had shown that Mohammed Ayub Khan probably isn’t either. This election, which he won, and then the subsequent resignation of his Foreign Minister ( Bhutto ) due to the Tashkent Agreement ( which Bhutto said should not have been signed !) led to the downfall of Ayub !

Waziristan Protest Demands An End To Assassinations

May 14, 2018
Thousands of residents in northwestern Pakistan are staging a sit-in protest to pressure authorities into arresting those responsible for a string of recent murders.Chanting angry slogans, the protesters in Mir Ali, a town in the North Waziristan district along Afghanistan’s border, called on Pakistan’s powerful military to ensure their security after a major security operation. The army claims the region was cleansed of terrorists after thousands of militants were killed during operation Zarb-e Azb, which was launched in June 2014.The offensive displaced more than 1 million North Waziristan residents and completely destroyed the once-bustling agricultural and trading towns of Mir Ali and Miran Shah. This was when Raheel Sharif was COAS . He has been accused of carpet bombing the region for the false reason of "fighting terrorism" and creating a refugee situation subbsequently. He is now playing the same game in Saudia !
The protests began after three prominent people were shot dead inside their houses in Mir Ali and Miran Shah over the weekend. They were among the latest in a string of assassinations. Unknown assailants have killed at least eight people inside their houses in North Waziristan during the past month. “What kind of peace is this when we are being killed inside our houses?” Shafqat Dawar, a leader of the protesters, asked on May 14. “You [the army] never tire of telling the world that you have cleansed Waziristan [of militants], but we are not safe inside our houses.”
In April, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Pakistan’s powerful army chief, called for mainstreaming FATA to preserve the dividends from peace his forces have worked hard to achieved.
“Stability and development efforts [in FATA] must trickle down dividends of peace to the public while [the] control of cleared areas is being handed over to [the] civil administration," he said. "[The] key dividend remains linked to the mainstreaming of FATA in line with popular public sentiments.”
In Mir Ali, however, the protesters appear to have little patience for more violence. “If anyone is killed, we will take their dead bodies to Islamabad to protest,” Shafqat Dawar said.

 26/11 attacks hearing resumed in Pakistan after Nawaz Sharif's admission
SLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) resumed hearing of the 2008 Mumbai attacks case on Wednesday and summoned the last two Pakistani prosecution witnesses to record their statements.
The resumption of the 10-year-old case is significant in view of the public admission of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that 26/11 terror attacks were carried out by Pakistani terrorists and the civil-military leadership were responsible for the delay in the trial.
The court on Wednesday directed government officials to submit details regarding the availability of 27 Indian witnesses in the next hearing. “Despite repeated notices to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and ministries of interior and foreign affairs, it has not informed the court about the status of Indian witnesses since January 2016,” the ATC Judge Shahrukh Arjumand said.
“Now the case is in the final stages and only statements of two Pakistani officials have to be recorded. Therefore, notice be served upon director general FIA, secretary of interior and secretary for foreign affairs for submitting their final and concrete response in the court qua the availability of 27 Indian nationals so as to conclude the trial expeditiously,” the court said.
The ATC, set up for speedy justice, has not been able to punish even a single Pakistani accused in the case. Last year, the prosecution had completed the testimonies of 68 Pakistani witnesses!

Someone In Pakiland ( Most probably An Ex Fauji !) Must Have Made Tons Of Money Selling These Fake Security Devices To Isloo Airport Authority

Fake security and Islamabad airport
The Express Tribune
Last week, while entering the new gleaming Islamabad International Airport, I could not help but notice the airport security personnel still carrying small plastic devices with protruding steel antennas, while taking a quick walk up and down besides my car. The zeal and seriousness with which this security scan was performed was reassuring. I would have felt quite safe, had I not read the famous BBC story in 2014, bringing to light the fake bomb detectors. Baggage retrieval from the new carousel system ( which did not work !) was a nightmare with some Abduls "going under the chute" to retrieve their saamaan. This was all captured on camera and went viral world wide
The story covered the global scam that ripped multiple governments of millions of dollars, which bought scores of these useless plastic toys to secure their citizens. These devices had aerials that would swing according to the users’ unconscious hand movements and were either empty cases or were packed with fake circuits.
These devices were first sold in the USA as golf ball detectors for $20 apiece and later as drug scanners. The Federal Bureau of Investigation found out about them in 1996 and banned their manufacturing and use in the US. These fake devices however resurfaced in the UK immediately, with multiple names, this time being pitched at a much higher price and with even more phenomenal claims. They were sold in the price range of £5,000 to £40,000, with a few allegedly traded as high as half a million pound apiece. The claims attributed to these detectors differed across countries but included the ability to detect bombs, explosives, drugs, ivory, currency notes and even hepatitis and HIV. For once, these "useless" devices cannot be blamed on the second hand Chini maal. But someone ( most likely a higher up Ex Fauji ) must have "convinced "the Isloo Airport Purchasing Director to "invest" in these devices
By the time the BBC story appeared, the man behind this scandal, James McCormick, was already jailed for 10 years, along with other accomplices. And most of the countries that had fallen victim to the scam realised their embarrassing mistake by then and pulled these devices off the ground. The BBC story, however, specifically mentioned Iraq, Djibouti and Pakistan amongst the countries that were still using them in 2014. Doubt that the Paki fraud artists who imported these "useless things"at the expense of the Paki Taxpayer would land in jail, specially if he is an Ex Fauji !
Iraq later banned these devices in 2016 after a deadly explosion killing 150 people. Pakistan however is still using them in 2018 with the same conviction. Besides the comicalness and absurdity of the situation, it raises some serious questions.
First and foremost, how come our government has turned a deaf ear to this scam, despite massive noise in the media? The real reason has to be more than mere ignorance. Unfortunately however, the issue has never been taken up by senior officials, political bosses or even the courts and neither has there been any explanation by the government on this account. This falls under the category of "national security" which cannot be mentioned , questioned or discussed . Anyone questioning the purchase may be liable for punishment under the Anti - Terrorism Act
It is also important to find out when the devices currently in use were bought. The UK government put in place export controls in 2010 and much of the procurement of these devices happened in the preceding ten years. But I remember visiting a senior police officer in Islamabad as late as 2015, where he was being given a demonstration of these devices. I don’t know whether it resulted in any purchases but the devices continued to be sold much after the scandal came to light. Again someone higher up must have made tons of money selling the useless stuff to police, Army etc etc !
Secondly and more importantly, how much are we relying on these useless toys to protect the security of our airports and other facilities? Are they creating a serious security lapse?
And lastly the issue points towards the much more serious governance deficit and poor public-sector management. How come a state managing the fifth-most populous nation on the planet and building motorways, mass transit systems and world-class airports is so inept, non-responsive and disconnected that something that has become an international joke is still in use here in open daylight. The fauj and its related entities ( like National Logistics Cell NLC ) made a lot of money transporting arms and drugs during the Afghan Jihad . Right now the fauj and NLC are busy minting money to service the CPEC in collaboration with "tallel than mountain fliend". So what is wrong if some faujis or ex faujis have made or are still making money selling these fake devices or the defective baggage retrieval system for that matter . Surely they would fall under the category of "victim less crime"

Diesel ( Rightly !) "Worried" About The "Dilution Of His Influence " If KP- FATA Merger Takes Place :D

Fazal ur Rehman feels frustrated after being ditched
May 17, 2018
ISLAMABAD – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Moulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday termed the merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa an international agenda.Speaking on the floor of National Assembly on Wednesday, he said that a power lobby has been forcing Parliament for FATA merger, adding that the House doesn’t have mandate to change the status of any area of the country.
Fazl the shrewd Maulana has always been able to weasel his way to political power or influence , enjoying the perks of power of a MNA ( like Chairman of "Kashmir Committee ") without doing a single day's hard work , and enjoying the use of a free house, free car, free trips to London and Dubai . Now with this "merger" and the expulsion of Ganja as PM, there is the real danger of losing all of this !
The JUI-F chief said that the country’s current situation isn’t suitable to change the constitutional status of FATA.“The situation would spiral out of control in case of any decision against the will of the people of FATA,” Fazlur Rehman said. However, this "veteran of Paki politics" cannot be written off . He has a "special knack" of morphing himself into something else for the sake of being near "power"

No, they want an MBBS qualified, but full-time homemaker as a daughter-in-law to brag about in their family and social circles.

It's far more common in Bakistan than you would think.

For The Sake Of Salvation Of Paki Echendee, Hope That This Is True

US promised to initiate probe against Col Joseph: FO
ISLAMABAD: The United States government has assured that a probe would be initiated against its Defence and Air Attaché Colonel Emanuel Joseph, who is accused of killing a young man after running a red light in the federal capital, said Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal.During the weekly briefing on Thursday, Dr Faisal said Joseph fled back to the US as he has diplomatic immunity just like other embassy officials in Pakistan. However, he said they did not have details on the matter of diyat – financial compensation paid to the victim’s family. The "probe promise" at least, IMO, is probably a "token promise" to assuage the hurt ego of the Paki nation. Probably a gentle slap on the Colonel's wrist and after that he would be "let go" to resume his normal life . Can one expect to see an employee of CIA or MI ( as he is likely to be !) land in jail
Dr Faisal also spoke about travel restrictions on US diplomats and their families in Pakistan, saying the decision was made in response to the limitations on the movement of Pakistani diplomats in the US. The == concept in diplomacy !
PS: As far as the Sharia Compliant Diet Diyat ! is concerned, would not be surprised if the Paki F.O, or the Paki Deep State , deducts and takes its own HUGE cut ( on the pretext of processing or banking fees! ) from the gross amount given by Massa Govt and the "victim's family" is just given the leftovers to " eat and drink from"

Mods : This is a painful episode of the Pious Muslims of Xinjiang suffering at the Hands of their Terroristani Brethren's All Weather, Higher than the Himalayas, Deeper than the Pacific Ocean; Stronger than Steel, Sweeter than Honey and More Precious than EYES who are now treating the Muslim People of Xinjiang in a most Deleterious and Despicable Manner.

I am Posting the Full Article - running into Six Pages - in an effort to have our Lootenians Democratic and Secular - led by the Despicable One who wants a Continued an Continuous as well as an Uninterrupted and Uninterruptible Dialogue with the Land of the Pure and Home of the Terrorists - to take up with the Chinese Authorities and Persuade them to Treat their Muslim Brethren thus enabling them to Destroy China. I am also X Posting the Link to this Article on the Neutering & Defanging Chinese Threat and the Islamism & Islamophobia Abroad Threads.

Here is the Article :

'Worse than prison': A rare look inside China's detention camps to 'brainwash' Muslims

ALMATY: Hour upon hour, day upon day, Omir Bekali and other detainees in far western China's new indoctrination camps had to disavow their Islamic beliefs, criticize themselves and their loved ones and give thanks to the ruling Communist Party.

When Bekali, a Kazakh Muslim, refused to follow orders each day, he was forced to stand at a wall for five hours at a time. A week later, he was sent to solitary confinement, where he was deprived of food for 24 hours. After 20 days in the heavily guarded camp, he wanted to kill himself.

"The psychological pressure is enormous, when you have to criticize yourself, denounce your thinking — your own ethnic group," said Bekali, who broke down in tears as he described the camp. "I still think about it every night, until the sun rises. I can't sleep. The thoughts are with me all the time."

Since last spring, Chinese authorities in the heavily Muslim region of Xinjiang have ensnared tens, possibly hundreds of thousands of Muslim Chinese — and even foreign citizens — in mass internment camps. This detention campaign has swept across Xinjiang, a territory half the area of India, leading to what a US commission on China last month said is "the largest mass incarceration of a minority population in the world today."

Chinese officials have largely avoided comment on the camps, but some are quoted in state media as saying that ideological changes are needed to fight separatism and Islamic extremism. Radical Muslim Uighurs have killed hundreds in recent years, and China considers the region a threat to peace in a country where the majority is Han Chinese.

The internment program aims to rewire the political thinking of detainees, erase their Islamic beliefs and reshape their very identities. The camps have expanded rapidly over the past year, with almost no judicial process or legal paperwork. Detainees who most vigorously criticize the people and things they love are rewarded, and those who refuse to do so are punished with solitary confinement, beatings and food deprivation.

The recollections of Bekali, a heavyset and quiet 42-year-old, offer what appears to be the most detailed account yet of life inside so-called re-education camps. The Associated Press also conducted rare interviews with three other former internees and a former instructor in other centers who corroborated Bekali's depiction. Most spoke on condition of anonymity to protect their families in China.

Bekali's case stands out because he was a foreign citizen, of Kazakhstan, who was seized by China's security agencies and detained for eight months last year without recourse. Although some details are impossible to verify, two Kazakh diplomats confirmed he was held for seven months and then sent to re-education.

The detention program is a hallmark of China's emboldened state security apparatus under the deeply nationalistic, hard-line rule of President Xi Jinping. It is partly rooted in the ancient Chinese belief in transformation through education — taken once before to terrifying extremes during the mass thought reform campaigns of Mao Zedong, the Chinese leader sometimes channeled by Xi.

"Cultural cleansing is Beijing's attempt to find a final solution to the Xinjiang problem," said James Millward, a China historian at Georgetown University.

Rian Thum, a professor at Loyola University in New Orleans, said China's re-education system echoes some of the worst human rights violations in history.
"The closest analogue is maybe the Cultural Revolution in that this will leave long-term, psychological effects," Thum said. "This will create a multigenerational trauma from which many people will never recover."

Asked to comment on the camps, China's Foreign Ministry said it "had not heard" of the situation. When asked why non-Chinese had been detained, it said the Chinese government protects the rights of foreigners in China and they should also be law-abiding. Chinese officials in Xinjiang did not respond to requests for comment.

However, bits and pieces from state media and journals show the confidence Xinjiang officials hold in methods that they say work well to curb religious extremism. China's top prosecutor, Zhang Jun, urged Xinjiang's authorities this month to extensively expand what the government calls the "transformation through education" drive in an "all-out effort" to fight separatism and extremism.

In a June 2017 paper published by a state-run journal, a researcher from Xinjiang's Communist Party School reported that most of 588 surveyed participants did not know what they had done wrong when they were sent to re-education. But by the time they were released, nearly all — 98.8 percent— had learned their mistakes, the paper said.
Transformation through education, the researcher concluded, "is a permanent cure."

"PEOPLE'S WAR ON TERROR"

On the chilly morning of March 23, 2017, Bekali drove up to the Chinese border from his home in Almaty, Kazakhstan, got a stamp in his Kazakh passport and crossed over for a work trip, not quite grasping the extraordinary circumstances he was stepping into.

Bekali was born in China in 1976 to Kazakh and Uighur parents, moved to Kazakhstan in 2006 and received citizenship three years later. He was out of China in 2016, when authorities sharply escalated a "People's War on Terror" to root out what the government called religious extremism and separatism in Xinjiang, a large Chinese territory bordering Pakistan and several Central Asian states, including Kazakhstan.

The Xinjiang he returned to was unrecognizable. All-encompassing, data-driven surveillance tracked residents in a region with around 12 million Muslims, including ethnic Uighurs and Kazakhs. Viewing a foreign website, taking phone calls from relatives abroad, praying regularly or growing a beard could land one in a political indoctrination camp, or prison, or both.

The new internment system was shrouded in secrecy, with no publicly available data on the numbers of camps or detainees. The US State Department estimates those being held are "at the very least in the tens of thousands." A Turkey-based TV station run by Xinjiang exiles said almost 900,000 were detained, citing leaked government documents.

Adrian Zenz, a researcher at the European School of Culture and Theology, puts the number between several hundreds of thousands and just over 1 million. Government bids and recruitment ads studied by Zenz suggest that the camps have cost more than $100 million since 2016, and construction is ongoing.

Bekali knew none of this when he visited his parents on March 25. He passed police checkpoints and handed over his decade-old Chinese identity card.

The next day, five armed policemen showed up at Bekali's parents' doorstep and took him away. They said there was a warrant for his arrest in Karamay, a frontier oil town where he lived a decade earlier. He couldn't call his parents or a lawyer, the police added, because his case was "special."

Bekali was held in a cell, incommunicado, for a week, and then was driven 500 miles (804 kilometers) to Karamay's Baijiantan District public security office.

There, they strapped him into a "tiger chair," a device that clamped down his wrists and ankles. They also hung him by his wrists against a barred wall, just high enough so he would feel excruciating pressure in his shoulder unless he stood on the balls of his bare feet. They interrogated him about his work with a tourist agency inviting Chinese to apply for Kazakh tourist visas, which they claimed was a way to help Chinese Muslims escape.

"I haven't committed any crimes!" Bekali yelled.

They asked for days what he knew about two dozen prominent ethnic Uighur activists and businessmen in Kazakhstan. Exhausted and aching, Bekali coughed up what he knew about a few names he recognized.

The police then sent Bekali to a 10- by 10-meter (32- by 32-foot) cell in the prison with 17 others, their feet chained to the posts of two large beds. Some wore dark blue uniforms, while others wore orange for political crimes. Bekali was given orange.

In mid-July, three months after his arrest, Bekali received a visit from Kazakh diplomats.
China's mass detention of ethnic Kazakhs — and even Kazakh citizens — has begun to make waves in the Central Asian country of 18 million. Kazakh officials say China detained 10 Kazakh citizens and hundreds of ethnic Kazakh Chinese in Xinjiang over the past year, though they were released in late April following a visit by a Kazakh deputy foreign minister.

Four months after the visit, Bekali was taken out of his cell and handed a release paper.
But he was not yet free.

"WE NOW KNOW BETTER"

Bekali was driven from jail to a fenced compound in the northern suburbs of Karamay, where three buildings held more than 1,000 internees receiving political indoctrination, he said.

He walked in, past a central station that could see over the entire facility, and received a tracksuit. Heavily armed guards watched over the compound from a second level. He joined a cell with 40 internees, he said, including teachers, doctors and students. Men and women were separated.

Internees would wake up together before dawn, sing the Chinese national anthem, and raise the Chinese flag at 7:30 a.m. They gathered back inside large classrooms to learn "red songs" like "Without the Communist Party, there is no New China," and study Chinese language and history. They were told that the indigenous sheep-herding Central Asian people of Xinjiang were backward and yoked by slavery before they were "liberated" by the Communist Party in the 1950s.

Before meals of vegetable soup and buns, the inmates would be ordered to chant: "Thank the Party! Thank the Motherland! Thank President Xi!"

Discipline was strictly enforced and punishment could be harsh. Bekali was kept in a locked room almost around the clock with eight other internees, who shared beds and a wretched toilet. Cameras were installed in toilets and even outhouses. Baths were rare, as was washing of hands and feet, which internees were told was equated with Islamic ablution.
Bekali and other former internees say the worst parts of the indoctrination program were forced repetition and self-criticism. Although students didn't understand much of what was taught and the material bordered on the nonsensical to them, they were made to internalize it by repetition in sessions lasting two hours or longer.

"We will oppose extremism, we will oppose separatism, we will oppose terrorism," they chanted again and again. Almost every day, the students received guest lecturers from the local police, judiciary and other branches of government warning about the dangers of separatism and extremism.

In 4-hour sessions, instructors lectured about the dangers of Islam and drilled internees with quizzes that they had to answer correctly or be sent to stand near a wall for hours on end.

"Do you obey Chinese law or Sharia?" instructors asked. "Do you understand why religion is dangerous?"

One by one, internees would stand up before 60 of their classmates to present self-criticisms of their religious history, Bekali said. The detainees would also have to criticize and be criticized by their peers. Those who parroted official lines particularly well or lashed into their fellow internees viciously were awarded points and could be transferred to more comfortable surroundings in other buildings, he said.

"I was taught the Holy Quran by my father and I learned it because I didn't know better," Bekali heard one say.

"I traveled outside China without knowing that I could be exposed to extremist thoughts abroad," Bekali recalled another saying. "Now I know."

A Uighur woman told AP she was held in a center in the city of Hotan in 2016. She said she and fellow prisoners repeatedly were forced to apologize for wearing long clothes in Muslim style, praying, teaching the Quran to their children and asking imams to name their children.

Praying at a mosque on any day other than Friday was a sign of extremism; so was attending Friday prayers outside their village or having Quranic verses or graphics on their phones.

While instructors watched, those who confessed to such behavior were told to repeat over and over: "We have done illegal things, but we now know better."

OWING THE COUNTRY

Other detainees and a re-education camp instructor tell similar stories.

In mid-2017, a Uighur former on-air reporter for Xinjiang TV known as Eldost was recruited to teach Chinese history and culture in an indoctrination camp because he spoke excellent Mandarin. He had no choice.

The re-education system, Eldost said, classified internees into three levels of security and duration of sentences.

The first group typically consisted of illiterate minority farmers who didn't commit any ostensible crimes other than not speaking Chinese. The second class was made up of people who were caught at home or on their smartphones with religious content or so-called separatist materials, such as lectures by the Uighur intellectual Ilham Tohti.

The final group was made up of those who had studied religion abroad and came back, or were seen to be affiliated with foreign elements. In the latter cases, internees were often were sentenced to prison terms of 10 to 15 years, Eldost said.

While he was teaching, Eldost once saw through the window 20 students driven into the courtyard. Two rows of guards waited for them and beat them as soon as they got out of the police van. He later heard that the internees were recent arrivals who had studied religion in the Middle East.

Violence was not regularly dispensed, but every internee AP spoke to saw at least one incident of rough treatment or beatings.

Eldost said the instruction was aimed at showing how backward traditional Uighur culture is and how repressive fundamentalist Islam is compared to a progressive Communist Party. The internees' confessions of their backwardness helped drive the point home.
"Internees are told to repeat those confessions to the point where, when they are finally freed, they believe that they owe the country a lot, that they could never repay the party," said Eldost, who escaped from China in August after paying a bribe.

Eldost said he tried in little ways to help his internees. Tasked with teaching the Three Character Classic, a Confucian standard taught widely in elementary schools, he would make up mnemonic devices to help his students — including elderly or illiterate Uighur farmers who barely knew their own language — recite a few lines. He also advised students to stop habitually saying "praise God" in Arabic and Uighur because other instructors punished them for it.

Every time he went to sleep in a room with 80 others, he said, the last thing he would hear was the sound of misery.

"I heard people crying every night," he said. "That was the saddest experience in my life."

Another former detainee, a Uighur from Hotan in southern Xinjiang, said his newly built center had just 90 people in two classes in 2015. There, a government instructor claimed said that Uighur women historically did not wear underwear, braided their hair to signal their sexual availability, and had dozens of sexual partners.

"It made me so angry," the detainee said. "These kinds of explanations of Uighur women humiliated me. I still remember this story every time I think about this, I feel like a knife cut a hole in my chest."

Kayrat Samarkan, a Chinese Kazakh from Astana who was detained while running errands in a northern Xinjiang police station in December, was sent to an internment camp in Karamagay in northern Xinjiang with 5,700 students.

Those who didn't obey, were late to class or got into fights were put for 12 hours in a loose body-suit that was made of iron and limited their movement, he said. Those who still disobeyed would be locked in a tiger chair for 24 hours. As one form of punishment, he said, instructors would press an internee's head in a tub of ice and water.

After three months, Samarkan couldn't take the lessons anymore, so he bashed his head against a wall to try to kill himself. He merely fell unconscious.

"When I woke up, the staff threatened me, saying if I did that again they would extend my sentence to 7 years there," he said.

After 20 days, Bekali also contemplated suicide. Several days later, because of his intransigence and refusal to speak Mandarin, Bekali was no longer permitted to go into the courtyard. Instead, he was sent to a higher level of management, where he spent 24 hours a day in a room with 8 others.

A week later, he went to his first stint in solitary confinement. He saw a local judicial official walking into the building on an inspection tour and yelled at the top of his lungs. He thought even his former detention center, with the abuse he suffered, would be better.

"Take me in the back and kill me, or send me back to prison," he shouted. "I can't be here anymore."

He was again hauled off to solitary confinement. It lasted 24 hours, ending late afternoon on Nov. 24.

That's when Bekali was released, as suddenly as he was detained eight months earlier.

A Baijiantan policemen who had always gone easy on Bekali during interrogation appeared and checked him out of the facility.

"You were too headstrong, but what the department did was unjust," he told Bekali as he drove him to his sister's home in Karamay.

Bekali was free.

FREEDOM, BUT NOT FOR HIS FAMILY

The next morning, a Saturday, the police opened their immigration office for Bekali to pick up a unique, 14-day Chinese visa. His original had long expired. Bekali left China on December 4.

Seeking compensation from the Chinese government is out of the question. But Bekali keeps a plastic folder at home of evidence that might prove useful someday: his passport with stamps and visas, travel records and a handwritten Chinese police document dated and imprinted with red-ink seals.

The document is the closest thing he has to an official acknowledgement that he suffered for eight months. It says he was held on suspicion of endangering national security; the last sentence declares him released without charge.

At first, Bekali did not want the AP to publish his account for fear that his sister and mother in China would be detained and sent to re-education.

But on March 10, back in China, the police took his sister, Adila Bekali. A week later, on March 19, his mother Amina Sadik was led away. In early April, Bekali called his father, Ebrayem. He told Bekali to take good care of himself, as if to bid farewell before the inevitable.

Bekali changed his mind and said he wanted to tell his story, no matter the consequences.

"Things have already come this far," he said. "I have nothing left to lose."

Apparently this baghawat is bigger than originally it was made out to be. Copying and pasting the entire disjointed article below.

Defiance breaks out in Pashtun paramilitary
KHYBER AGENCY: An outbreak of disobedience and resignations appeared in the paramilitary of Mehsud Scouts when 23 soldiers tendered their resignations purportedly in reaction to alleged covert support to militant outfits in South Waziristan, North Waziristan, and Khyber Agency. “Inside the Mehsud Scouts it is rumored they have been detained for making public their support to the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) among their batch fellows and tending to participate in Pashtuns’ protest demonstration in Karachi,” the sources said. “Rejecting the rumors, the sources said that all the paratroopers tendered their resignations in protest to the resurgence of the Taliban groups in the tribal belt particularly in the three tribal agencies well before the Pashtuns’ protest demonstration in Karachi,” the sources told The Pashtun Times on the condition of keeping his identity anonymous. “One Subaidar, four Hawaldars, seven Lance-nayaks, and eleven Sepoys are among those detained,” the sources said. He said there is a growing concern among the paratroopers about the resurgence of the Taliban amid heightened espionage on the soldiers by FIU, an internal intelligence unit.

After PTM came out in full swing across Pakistan in condemnation to alleged support of Pakistan’s military to terrorist groups in the tribal belt bordering Afghanistan the Taliban reappeared mysteriously followed by target killings resumption. Mullah Abd-ur-Rehman, Sadiq Nur, Hafiz Gul Bahadar, and Manhal Bagh reappeared in the federally administered tribal area (FATA) despite that Pakistan military had declared clearance after launching a number of security operations. The tribesmen who just recently repatriated from temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) camps in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have once again gripped by a new wave of terrorism. Protests against the resumption of target killing are going on in Mir Ali, North Waziristan. In Khyber Agency Mangal Bagh, the dreaded emir of Lashkar-e-Islam reappeared in Bara after Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) organized a protest demonstration in Bara.

The paratroopers of Mehsud Scouts in Fort Salop, Bara, Khyber Agency, had historically launched a number of military operations against terrorist outfits in Khyber Agency for instance Lashkar-e-Islam in Bara, Ansar-ul-Islam of Maulana Mehboob in Tirah and Amar-bel-Maroof in Qambarkhel. No major terrorist leader so far has been killed in these operations, however, thousands of Afridi tribal families have been dislocated from their ancestral tribal agency and pushed on a life of encampment in Azakhel TDPs camp in Nowshera. Since most of the paratroopers hail from the troubled South Waziristan agency and also from the Afridi tribe, therefore, they detested the Taliban’s resurgence. Nearly a decade ago Mangal Bagh’s Lashkar-e-Islam carried out a terror attack where an entire family was ruthlessly killed in Sur Dhand Bara Khyber Agency. The incident happened just 400 meter away from the Mehsud Scouts when Bagh’s Lashkar-e-Islam attacked Badshah’s family and killed all male members of his family. One of his sons, Salahuddin, was critically injured and he surrendered nevertheless the Taliban doused petrol on him and set him on fire. They gagged stones in the mouths of the dead bodies and then announcements were made from the nearby mosques that nobody should take the dead bodies to graveyard for burial. Even their animals were not spared. This incident unleashed the floodgates of horror which numbed the brains of the locals and Mangal Bagh became an epitome of horror. “If the paramilitary wanted to protect that ill-fated family which opposed the Taliban it could have been protected, however, there were orders from the state secret service not to protect the anti-Taliban forces, therefore, nobody from the government intervened,” the sources commented. “Historically no anti-Taliban movements have succeeded so far as the secret service used to establish anti-Taliban lashkars then curtail its support and as a result the Taliban used to win,” he added. This merits mention that Mehsud Scouts is located in Soor Dhand area of Khyber Agency Malakdin Khel east of Bara Market. Most of its recruits come from South Waziristan and Khyber Agency.

Nawaz is cognizant of what the army and its ISI rats can do. He would have let them know of how he has made video recording and signed documents (attested by credible witnesses in Bartania/Saudi) and has incriminating documents/record of the double game played by Army. If anything happens to him then all the generals, their ill gotten gains and their kin in US/UK/Australia ........ :rotfl:

Taking Malsi To The Highest Level Ever ! Rights Of Minorities And All Others Who Do Not Fast Because Of Sickness, etc etc Be Damned

People who smoke or eat in the open public during the month of Ramadan will be fined for Rs. 500
The Senate Standing Committee on Religious Affairs has approved the Ehtram-e-Ramadan (Amendment) Bill for the upcoming month when Muslims are expected to fast during Ramadan. The new law prevents citizens from eating or smoking in the open during Ramadan, with violators getting penalized if they do so. According to the amended law, violators will now be charged a Rs. 500 fine along with 3-months of imprisonment.
The new amendment has also changed the fine structure for hotel owners, TV channels, and cinemas. Hotel owners will be fined Rs. 25,000, instead of Rs. 500 as per the 1981 Ehtram-e-Ramadan Ordinance, and TV channels or cinema houses will be charged Rs. 5,00,000 or more if they are found violating the Ordinance.

When Did Paki CJP Nisar Saquib Become A Champion Of Hazara Rights

Pakistan Chief Justice's notice produces some hope for Hazara protections
17 May 2018
April was a particularly grim month for the besieged ethnic Hazara community in the Pakistani city of Quetta.
It began with the targeted killing of Nazar Hussein, a taxi driver in the city. At the end of the month, two Hazara men were shot dead in their electronics shop in another attack based on sectarian logic. In total, the community suffered four separate “targeted killings” during the month. The killings triggered several protests, most notably a women-led hunger strike that was called off after strikers secured a meeting with Qamar Javaid Bajwa, the Army's Chief of Staff. Both CJP Nisar and COASBajwa Pajwa seem to collecting "lots of frequent flyer air miles" flying from one end of the country to the other , dousing out lots of (political ) bush fires
Given this background, the decision of Pakistan's Chief Justice to issue an unprecedented suo moto notice regarding the killings was significant and broadly welcomed by members of the community. That Suo Moto "instrument " once again . His "lovely" daughters should request "Abbaji" to take it easy lest the "overworked" CJP suffer a sudden stroke or a heart attack due to his "heavy work schedule"
The killings, said Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on May 11 were tantamount to “ethnic cleansing.” “We have no words to condemn the killings of Hazaras,” said Nisar, before adding: “We have to protect the lives and property of the [people of the] Hazara community.” With each passing day, the CJP is becoming more and more like the disgraced ex Foreign Minister (from Sialkot ) Khawaja Asif . He is becoming more "loose mouth " and expressing "phony sympathy" for the suffering Shia Hazaras
The notice issued by the Chief Justice means that various authorities in Balochistan, the eastern region of Pakistan where the city of Quetta is located, should now submit reports on the killings to the court. Giving orders is one thing. Getting it implemented in the "jungle environment" of Pakistan is quite something else !
Fearing further atrocities and with few opportunities in the country, 70,000 of the reportedly 900,000 Hazaras that live in Balochistan have taken a precarious migration route in a bid for a better, safer life. The journey over the ocean to Australia has seen hundreds drowned along the way.
The government in Kabul has restricted itself to “condemning in the strongest terms” such attacks, while the government's own discrimination against Hazara, particularly in education and employment, was flagged in a recent report by the US Department of State. With the seemingly unstoppable rise of sectarian military groups in both countries, protecting Hazara rights will take the kind of strength and will that neither Kabul or Islamabad have shown in the past. Equating the discrimination that Afghani Hazaras face there in their country , is no excuse to killing Hazaras here in Pakistan !!!!
