Yuan class sub. Per wiki,
According to an early assessment by the US Naval Institute, the Yuan class was primarily designed as "an anti-ship cruise missile (ASCM) platform capable of hiding submerged for long periods of time in difficult to access shallow littorals.
This is a dangerous precedent. The subs will be used to target IN air craft carriers, can lie in wait in shallow waters outside the naval ports for the AC to sail out to sea. India needs long range, early sub detection systems and sub killers to neutralize these paki purchases.
In April 2015, Pakistan approved purchase of 8 export version of type 039B from China for $5 billion for Pakistan Navy. The deal was finalised on 23 July 2015.[15][16] In October of the same year, it was revealed that 4 of the submarines will be built in Pakistan, with work beginning in both nations simultaneously. Pakistan's Minister for Defense Production confirmed that the agreement included transfer-of-technology to construct the vessels.[17] On 6 July 2015 Rana Tanveer Hussain, minister of defence production announced two projects for the construction of four submarines in China and four in Pakistan will begin simultaneously. Hussain added that a training centre will also be created at KSEW. In late 2016 it was officially confirmed that China will see about 4 submarines delivered by 2023 and the remainder delivered by 2028.
Export version:
Structure: double hulled
Length: 66 meter
Beam: 8 meter
Draft: 8.2 meter
Surface displacement: 1850 tons
Submerged displacement: 2300 tons
Maximum speed: 18 knots
Cruise speed: 16 knots
Range: 8000 nautical miles @ 16 knots
Endurance: 60 days
Crew: 38 total
Maximum depth: 300 meters

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_039A_submarine
So they midgetized the export version? Must have some impact on endurance and capablities. I mean this thing is a more than 1000 tons less.

Unlike the original which had been in operations for years, this thing was never used before. I can’t believe reducing a sub that much wouldn’t require retesting a lot of things. Can’t use the original training manuals when everything is more cramped and, I imagine, in different places.

Why didn’t they just get a regular Yuan? Too poor? Too untrustworthy?

The PN is really beefing up pretty well given the budget they operate with.

Will not be too easy for IN to overcome them when the balloon goes up

Their surface fleet is not as potent as their sub fleet. That is the one that will be a tough nut to crack.

Pakistan to get eight Chinese submarines capable of firing land-attack missiles
Few points:
1) If that project cost 5 billion in 2015, I will cost more now due to inflation. Can they afford it with the current financial situation?
2) 4 subs will be directly imported and 4 others subs manufactured locally. We all know, local manufacturing will cost at least 1.5 times, due to the investment required in the tools, training, infrastructure, procuring individual items and what else not. Do they have skilled manpower and again money?
3) Will China trust to hand down the critical technologies to Napakis. They operate around 30 subs, deploying in IOR next to India means - we can have closer look and find weaknesses easily. It will blunt their advantage for half of their fleet, right?

Pakistan Navy receives first of two ATR-72 MPAs
This upgrade for 2 planes cost them around 300 million $ and capability wise they are ok ok, kike our do228. Nowhere even closer to P8i. I think it will be money sunk in the sea as they will not be able to afford other 2 optional upgraded planes and keeping only two in the air will be damn expensive.

Some more were taken out by Talibunnies which could not be disclosed due to H&D reasons- not just the one which media showed.

That way PN MPA have the one of the highest Attrition /Loss record in peace time. A few P-3C's crashed, Taliban took out more than 1 . whent eh Atlantiques were around IAF took out one.

China-Pakistan military ties set to get even closer as ‘iron brothers’ eye new alliance
With reports that China is planning to build its second offshore naval base near a strategically important Pakistani port it appears that the relationship between Beijing and Islamabad is as strong as ever.
JF-17 fighter jet: In the years since, however, the jet – produced by Pakistan Aeronautical Complex and Chengdu Aerospace Corporation – has experienced its fair share of turbulence, having crashed in both 2011 and 2016. Despite its dubious safety record Islamabad has pitched the JF17 as an affordable jet fighter for developing countries, and in 2015 secured its first export deal with an undisclosed Asian country.
Secret submarines: In 2016, Beijing agreed to sell Pakistan eight modified diesel-electric attack submarines by 2028 in a deal valued at between US$4 billion and US$5 billion. While there have been no official reports of exactly what vessels will be involved, analysts have said they are likely to be lighter versions of the People Liberation Army’s Type 039 and Type 041 Yuan-class conventional attack submarines. The vessels will be supplied by China Shipbuilding Trading Company, and Beijing is expected to extend a long-term low-interest rate loan to Pakistan to cover their cost.
So, the subs are a lighter version of the original and will be paid for by a loan...er...investment by the chinis. Hail SeePack!

It's a low power radar that has a range of 250 NM. Easy target for IA and IAF drones to lock on and knock out. The additional units deployment is probably to avoid accidents between US military aircraft going in/out of AfPak region and civilian aircraft going through that airspace. Paki infrastructure is piss poor and existing FPS-117 units are in PoK.

Pakistan to gift a landing Craft to Maldives Navy
Pakistan will gift a Landing Craft to Maldives as part of strengthening the naval capability of the archipelago.
The Landing Craft will assist Maldivian Coast Guard in its efforts to contribute towards regional peace.
So, pakis have (or had) two mechanized landing crafts, both delivered in 2016, and they just gave away one to Maldives which probably has no use or need for it (who are they going to invade? Seychelles?). What gives?

X Posted from the Terroristan thread.

Reality that the LHTEC engines have the involvement of a US company, namely Honeywell, dawns regards the T129 ATAK deal 8) .

The Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan is financing the deal by taking on debt from Brotherly Turkey who themselves are racing against Pakistan to see who will be the first to borrow from the IMF  . IMF should keep a close watch to ensure IMF Funds are not used to finance this deal by either Turkey or Pakistan.

Is it any wonder that that a Turkish contestant on the Turkeys version of KBC thought the Great Wall of China was maybe in India ( Where is The Great Wall of China? Woman on Turkish Version of KBC Used 2 Lifelines for This : Is it... India? ) when “Turkish defense official” thinks Pakistan is “a country that has friendly relations with America “ :rotfl: :
Diplomatic row jeopardizes $1.5B helicopter deal between Turkey and Pakistan

By: Burak Ege Bekdil   11 hours ago

ANKARA, Turkey — An escalating diplomatic crisis between NATO allies Turkey and the United States may risk suspending a $1.5 billion deal between Turkey and Pakistan for the sale of 30 Turkish-made T129 ATAK helicopter gunships.

The T129 is being produced by Turkish Aerospace Industries under license from the Italian-British company AgustaWestland.

“The problem is related with the U.S.-made parts for which TAI will need U.S. export licenses in order to materialize the deal,” a Turkish aerospace official said.

The T129, based on its predecessor A129 Mangusta, is a twin-engine multirole attack helicopter. The T129 is powered by two LHTEC T800-4A turboshaft engines. Each engine can produce 1,014 kilowatts of output power. The T800-4A is an export version of the CTS800 engine. LHTEC is a joint venture between the American firm Honeywell and the British company Rolls-Royce.

“Apparently we shall need U.S. export licenses to go ahead with the T129 deal,” a senior procurement official said. “This is not a technological or financial matter but is purely political at the moment.” ………………………..

“This is a commercial deal (with Pakistan) with a country that has friendly relations with America  . For Washington what matters should be the recipient of the systems, not who produces it and if relations are bumpy with the producer country,” a Turkish defense official said. “Why should the Americans punish Pakistan for their disagreements with Turkey?” :((

A TAI official said a U.S. embargo on the chopper deal was unlikely because it would also hurt a U.S. company as well as two British companies and one Italian. “These are not enemy producers,” he said. “They are on the ally side. And we (TAI) are not being sanctioned by the U.S. or any other ally country.”

A U.S. diplomat in Ankara refused to comment. …………………….

To finance one of the country’s largest defense and aerospace export contracts, Turkey offered Pakistan a $1.5 billion credit line in 2017, but the deal’s payment terms are unknown. ………….

China will reimburse them. Since China cannot directly deal with Maldives because we will not take it quietly, they are acting as the middleman. I am just amazed at the quantity of narcissism that allows one to think this will not be noticed by anybody.

Seen this pic before from other years as well.
I like the fact that our auxillary vest blends with the uniform. Their Sandyish Camo with the black auxillary vest stands out quite well.
However I do like their helmet only because it allows for attachments of NVGs etc.
Can't wait for our helmets to percolate to the lowest levels and frontline units as well.

Good Machoistic Pic !!

Previous rounds of withheld funds have impacted U.S. foreign military sales to Pakistan, including the transfer of up to 16 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters from Amarillo, Texas-based Bell.

In August 2017, Bell had just transferred the first two Vipers to the U.S. government for transfer to Pakistan via the FMS program when the U.S. announced the first freeze of military aid. Four more helicopters were on the production line.

‘Largest deal’: China to sell 48 high-end military drones to Pakistan

BEIJING: Pakistan will import 48 Chinese drones in what a Chinese military observer said must be the largest such arms deal of its kind, the state-run Global Times newspaper reported.

The Pakistan Air Force's Sherdils Aerobatic Team did not reveal how much it was worth, when it was struck or when the Wing Loong IIs will be delivered, the report added.

But the air force academy aerobatics team announced that in the future the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra and the Aviation Industry Corporation of China's Chengdu Aircraft Industrial (Group) Company will jointly manufacture the drones.

It is pertinent to mention here that India sealed a major deal to acquire S-400 air defense system from Russia affecting the balance of power in the South Asian region. The agreement to buy the world's most lethal surface-to-air missile system was reached during Viladimir Putin’s visit to New Dehli last week.

Wing Loong II, made by Chengdu Aircraft Industrial (Group) Company, is a high-end reconnaissance and strike multi-role endurance unmanned aircraft system.

It made its maiden flight in February last year, the Xinhua News Agency reported.

The largest overseas order for Wing Loong IIs was obtained even before the maiden flight, Xinhua reported. The report did not specify the buyer.

A deal involving as many as 48 Wing Loong IIs, if confirmed, would be China's largest export deal for drones to date, Song Zhongping, a military expert and TV commentator, told the Global Times on Monday.

Chengdu Aircraft Industrial Group did not confirm the deal when reached by the Global Times as of press time.

It makes sense the aerobatic team was closely involved with the deal, Song said, noting that the team is expected to train the drone operators.

The deal is trustworthy given the close military ties between the two countries and Pakistan's need for drones, Song said.

US drones like the MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper are technologically more advanced, but Washington limits their export, Song said.

Chinese drones will enjoy more success in the international market in the future, he said, as they perform similarly at a lower cost.

"Chinese UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) like Caihong series also has clients from countries like Iraq and Saudi Arabia," Song said.

https://twitter.com/SJha1618/status/1049585670111383552 ---> For years, the Pakistanis begged the Americans for MQ-1 Predators & MQ-9 Reapers.. Now their 'all weather ally' has obliged with the Wing Loong II. For the Pakistanis, this is a key requirement because reducing their own people with F-16s and JF-17s was proving too expensive.

https://twitter.com/SJha1618/status/1049579548977713152 ---> Wing Loong II is not a 'UCAV'. It is merely an Armed UAV and needs a highly permissive environment to operate (i.e one that is sans any air defence), like other propeller driven UAVs of its type. It is basically going to be used by the Pakistanis to bomb their own people.

https://twitter.com/SJha1618/status/1049582718760022016 ---> This talk of 'but, but the MQ-9 has operated in Syria's semi-permissible environment and drones have even returned with battle damage from low caliber weapons' etc is all nice and good. But the reality is that Wing Loong II type drones will drop like flies against Indian AD.

Unlike our AGni RV shots which tracked in the air and explodes like a real nuke around 1KM in the Air, Pakis have a Fisheye lens camera in the general area and are able to take a photo once it lands meaning

1) There is no telementry equipment on these missiles

2) They don't have radars and IR camera's capable of trackign BM's.

3) CEP is pretty high so the exact location only after landing.

This is launch by armed forces so its production missile does not need telemetry , Gauri-1 is older missile and all they show is the launch and then hitting the target area.

You cannot figure out of a missile has telemetry equipment or not just by looking at the missile unless they also show the launch room tracking these missile etc I have yet to see any Paki Video showing that of any of their BM launched so far.

If you have watched Pakistan over the years, there is very little industrial capacity in the country, however, all missiles are always ready and always available in Numbers. In the past they are nation known to have blatantly lied about wars, exaggerated GDP and Military capability. Given all that you can clearly see in the video the camera is kept at wide focusing over a large area, once the whatever warhead hits the ground, you can see atemmpts at post production digital zoom is being tried. Notice no tracking of the warhead in the air.

Besides it was only 2010 they admitted that Cammando Musharaf got cold feet during Kargil when the Ghauri launch went haywire into Iran.

Looking at the Map of PAF airbases, seems they have neatly strung a lot of airbases around Northern Pakjab

1. PAF Peshawar
2. PAF Minhas
3. Murid
4. Kohat
5. Mianwali
6. Risalpur
7. Sargodha
8. PAF chaklala.

Plus they could Islamabad old and new airports and Lahore airport as also support.

The IAF only has Srinagar, Avantipore and Pathankot airbases closeby, Adampur, Chandigarh , Ambala are all a bit far away. Neutralizing the PAF in these airbases along with 9.Skardu is probably the Toughest jobs for IAF.

10.Shorkot Road Airbase and 11. Jococabad , Rafui airbase and Baz Airbase probably are outlier airbases.

then there is 12. Bholari and 13 . Maripur airbase.

These 13 plus I guess Quetta airbase need to be tackled in the first hours of the war by Indian Armed forces through a combination of Ballistic missiles, Cruise missiles, MLRS and Long range IAF- Anti airfield, PGM bombs in the first hours of a war whenever it happens.

Some how the 8 airbases close to Islamabad which Pakis ability to put a lot of aircraft near the Shakargarh bulge, thats why through Miltants , commando raids, PAF air raids Pathankot is always top of the Paki hit list. This is probably our biggest weakpoint.

1) There is no telementry equipment on these missiles

2) They don't have radars and IR camera's capable of trackign BM's.

3) CEP is pretty high so the exact location only after landing.
Give the devil his due  .I would not be so dismissive of the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s missile test tracking capabilities. See South China Morning Post article of 22 March 2018:

China provides tracking system for Pakistan’s missile programme
