However, Blas F. Ople Policy Center, a non-government organization helping distressed overseas workers suggested that Filipinos be prepared for the Saudization policy which Saudi Minister had recently announced, banning foreign workers among its 12 sectors in retail and sales.
In a news reported by ABS-CBN News, the Saudization policy will take effect on September 11, 2018, which will stop hiring foreign workers including theFilipinos(Pakis ) in car and motorbike showrooms, ready-made clothes, home and office furniture stores and home appliances and utensils store.
On the other hand, effective November 9, foreign workers will also be banned in electronic stores such as watches and clock store and optics stores. And on January 7, 2019, they will be banned in medical and equipment stores, hardware, carpet selling stores and sweet (mithai !) shops.
Aside from Saudi, Ople said some countries in the Middle East had started the same policy just like Oman who had started their 6-month ban among the expatriates.
But in the midst of the risk that the Saudization policy may bring to the Filipinos, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through Sec. Silvestre Bello III expressed confidence that returning OFWs will have their jobs because of the Philippine government’s “Build, build, build” program under Duterte administration. Aside from the program, Bello III assured that there are livelihood programs to help the OFWs. Returning Pakis/ Deported Pakis will face the "opposite" situation. No jobs, no accommodation etc etc
PS: Indian Ex Pats will feel the heat from this new policies as well . But there are relatively less Indians likely to be affected in the 12 categories ! Also, returnees do not face a bleak situation in India as returnees face in Pakiland !
Damn, now CJP is on to another dam - Dadhocha.Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday, while hearing a case on the Dadhocha dam, lashed out at critics opposing the construction of dams in the country, saying that they were pursuing "someone else's agenda".
He added that there would be "no compromise on this issue", whether those criticising the move were "well-known scientists or political leaders".
"We won't let the agenda to not build dams be successful." the CJP said. "We will build dams under all circumstances." {CJP wants to accelerate his retirement fund!}
The CJP, who was heading a three-judge bench, made the remarks during a case pertaining to land earmarked for the construction of the Dadhocha dam.
In 2006, the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) had purchased 18,000 kanals at the site where the dam was to be built and launched a housing scheme as a joint venture with Bahria Town. Let’s begin by doing the sums: the per annum figure comes to 2bn trees or just under 5.5 million trees per day! The only silver lining in this madness is that the government has broadcast a list of all the indigenous trees that will be planted. It has no mention of eucalyptus or conocarpus. That is commendable. But there are questions. Where will the daily supply of 5.5m saplings or seeds come from? And that — unfailingly — over the next five years?
In Lahore, there are two nurseries (that I know of) managed by the Forest Department rearing local species. Right now, their total output will not be more than 3,000 at the most. In order to replenish, they need to prepare cuttings, which will take over six weeks to sprout — and this only between March and October. Even if there was a miraculous shower of hundreds of billions of seeds from the sky, the new plants will not be ready anytime soon.
Add to this math, where is the money to buy 10 billion saplings, to plant the saplings, maintain the saplings, and then to periodically water the saplings in a water-starved nation? Hain?Therefore even if motivated young people perform the miracle of planting, say, 100,000 trees across Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, most of these will be lost to grazers: the survival rate of indigenous species is about 15 per cent. In a word, the target of 10bn trees in five years is a pipe dream — dreamt under the influence. (influence of what? Zam Zam?)

ISLAMABAD: Authorities in Islamabad have barred 12 firebrand clerics from making speeches during the month of Muharram with 14 others not allowed to enter the federal capital for a two-month period for inciting sectarian strife.
The orders issued by the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) district magistrate, stating that the 26 clerics who have been banned were “sectarian agitators, firebrand speakers and likely to indulge in sectarian activities”.

But now, there is a "risk" that they may come back and bite their own masters !The Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) took the decision in view of the past record that include former Lal Masjid’s Abdul Aziz, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen’s (MWM) Ameen Shaheedi and Nasir Abbas Jafri, as well as, Tehreek-e-Labaik chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi, and several other Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) leaders.
“The above named ulemas shall not enter, reside or remain in the revenue limits of District Islamabad for a period of two months from the date of issue of this order,” the magistrate’s order said for the latter 14 clerics,” the order states.

RAWALIPINDI: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday visited the headquarters of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and was briefed on the national security.
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry informed that PM Khan was given briefing on the national security for eight hours.
Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Director-General ISI Lt General Naveed Mukhtar received the prime minister on arrival. Senior cabinet ministers also accompanied the premier.
The prime minister was briefed in details on various strategic intelligence and national security matters at the premier agency. He also laid a floral wreath at the martyrs monument.

]PM Imran lauded contributions of ISI towards national security especially in the ongoing counter terrorism effort. “ISI is our first line of defence and stands out as the best intelligence agency of the world,” said PM Khan.
He further said that government and people of Pakistan firmly stand behind the armed forces and intelligence agencies, and greatly acknowledge the unprecedented achievements of these institutions.
On August 30, Prime Minister Khan had visited the General Headquarters (GHQ) along with several cabinet members to get briefing on security matters.
The prime minister was given detailed briefings on security environment, threat spectrum and response. They were also updated on army’s campaigns against terrorism, ongoing Radd-ul-Fasaad Operation, situation in Karachi and the Khushal Balochistan programme.

PM Imran appreciated the professional, operational readiness and contributions and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army in the war against terrorism.

Similarly on September 3, Chief of General Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa had called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at the PM secretariat and discussed a range of issues including matters related to security, Defence Day, US-Pakistan relations, and internal and external security situation.
Prime Minister Imran Khan was invited to the chief guest to a Defence Day event at the GHQ on September 6, where he rejected the impression of a civil-military divide and said both are on same page regarding issues faced by the country.
He said that Pakistan’s armed forces and intelligence agencies are best in the world due to their strict adherence to merit and professionalism, and are a source of pride for the nation and all the other institutions could progress if they follow the army’s example.

OTTAWA - A new ranking has named Canada the most spiritual country in the world.
On the Global Spirituality Index, released by luxury travel planning agency Wayfairer Travel, Canada took the top spot after ranking highly in categories like quality of life and religious freedom.
That is not "fair" . Pakistan is "highly religious" . ( If you do not take into account, honour killing, frontier justice, rampant corruption, feudalism, discrimination etc etc !)Because for the list, authors evaluated countries on more than just the number of people who report a religious affiliation.
Along with religious population, diversity, and spiritual sights, the report also scored countries on religious tolerance, freedom, wellness and quality of life.
To rank Canada as the most spiritual nation , is a bit too "rich" IMHOInterestingly, while Canada scored low marks in the category of religious population (2 out of a possible 7 points), it made up for it for the loss in categories like diversity and quality of life, with a perfect seven out of seven score.

Governor House Murree and Governor House Nathia Gali are so luxurious that as boutique hotels in the next few months they could be rented out at 7-star hotel prices, senior PTI leader Naeeum ul Haq said Thursday.
Shafqat Mahmood said that around Rs 1.15 billion were being spent annually on these official residences which would be saved.
He said that the Governor House Murree had been renovated with approximately an amount of Rs 600 million recently, while its annual expenditure was Rs 140 million.

The Foreign Office has taken "strong exception to the unwarranted reference against Pakistan" in the joint statement issued following the 2+2 India-US dialogue between the US Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defence with their Indian counterparts in New Delhi last week, Radio Pakistan reported.

The spokesperson expressed surprise that there was no mention in the joint statement of the continued ceasefire violations by the Indian forces along the line of control and the working boundary ( The "esteemed Dr" should know that "core issue" is the internal matter of India !) which poses a grave threat to regional peace and security. Responding to a question, Dr Faisal said, "Pakistan is always ready for talks with India for resolution of all outstanding disputes and both the countries are in contact with each other through track two diplomacy."
This Faisal character is an ISI-chaap guy and is routinely praised by idiot anchors like Hillali and Pirzada for his 'dabangg' andaaz in pushing Pakistan's 'narrative'. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the country’s Dawoodi Bohra community on Friday for their contribution and dedication for the betterment of the state.
The Indian Premier addressed the Dawoodi Bohra community amid an event organized the group at Indore’s Saifee Mosque, which was also attended by the religious group’s head, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin.
“The concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam gives a distinct identity to India from the rest of the world and the Bohra community is an example of it," Modi had stated.
He had gone on to state: “My relationship with the Bohra community goes way back. I always felt at home with them. Even today the doors are all open for them."
This marks the first time an Indian head of state has addressed a religious congregation of Dawoodi Bohras.
