Austerity In Theory But Not In Practice !

Urgency made FM Qureshi falsify PM Imran’s austerity claim?
Pakistan Today
Sept 15, 2018
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Saturday left Pakistan to meet Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Pakistan Air Force plane whereas PTI Chief Imran Khan has promised not to spend money on foreign tours and if necessary then travel in economy class. But FM Qureshi defied his leader’s claim and went to Kabul on PAF jet. A journalist Umar Cheema shared a picture on Twitter in which FM Qureshi is descending from a offical jet in Kabul.
Another tweet about the FM’s tour was posted from the PTI’s official account in which most of the Twitter users and followers instead of discussing the tour, objected to the use of official plane by the FM.
For example, after taking oath as Punjab CM, Sardar Usman Buzdar along with his family members had used an official helicopter for his private tour to Mian Channu in Khanewal district to condole with a friend on the demise of the latter’s father. He also travelled to Islamabad from Lahore by helicopter. The CM and his family also used a official helicopter to visit the shrine of Baba Fareed in Pakpattan.
Interestingly, the KP Assembly spent three times more on foreign visits of its members and staff as compared to legislators in the Punjab during the last five years. The data shows the KP Assembly, which had 124 members, spent Rs53.6 million on foreign tours and over 60 members of the KP Assembly embarked on state-funded foreign tours.
Sharif undertook 10 foreign trips in 2013, 11 in 2014, 23 in 2015 and 9 each in 2016 and 2017. Nawaz Sharif spent more time abroad than in the assembly. According to data, the premier spent a total of 185 days abroad during 65 foreign tours with accompanying staff of 631 officers which cost the exchequer Rs638.27 million.By contrast, the former premier visited the National Assembly just 35 times during his 940 days in power.
Ganja Sharif lived like a moghal badshah. ! He did not "practice" austerity !

China is no East India Company - M Ziauddin

For a number of well-known reasons, investors worldwide consider Pakistan a high-risk country. Indeed, why would any investor in his right senses decide to invest his millions in a country that plays its home series in the UAE, because no cricket-playing country wants to send its team to Pakistan? During the last IMF adjustment programme, all periodic review meetings between the Fund officials and Pakistan government team were held in Dubai.

It is not terrorism alone that keeps both our friends and foes at arm’s length from Islamabad. In the World Bank’s 2018 ranking on Doing Business index[/b], Pakistan’s overall position is 147.

CPEC rail project: Govt seeks to avoid financial risks in $9b deal

Economies are ranked on their ease of doing business, from 1–190. A high ease of doing business ranking means the regulatory environment is more conducive to the starting and operation of a local firm. The rankings are determined by sorting the aggregate distance to frontier scores on 10 topics, each consisting of several indicators, giving equal weight to each topic. For Pakistan:1) starting a business (142), 2) dealing with construction permits (141), 3) getting electricity (167), 4) registering property (170), 5) getting credit (105), 6) protecting minority interest (20), 7) paying taxes (172), 8) trading across borders (171), 9) enforcing contracts (156) and 10) resolving solvency (82).

But it is not terrorism and the lack of ease of doing business only that discourage Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from coming to Pakistan, but also the fact that the members of our private sector with exceptions proving the rule are corrupt to the core. They don’t pay their legitimate taxes and pilfer with impunity all utilities, including water, electricity, gas, etc, and they also don’t pay the right emoluments to their employees. Not only this. You are asked for bribes, kickbacks and commission by every government official you come across in the process. One well-known real estate tycoon once confessed openly that he puts ‘wheels’ on the files that he wants to be moved up or down the decision-making chain.

In and out of context

So, despite all this if someone in his right senses actually brings his billions to this country, he would surely like to ensure a profit margin commensurate with the level of the overall risk. Besides, he would also ask for all kinds of concessions to overcome the hitches in ease of doing business as well as neutralise the advantages the local investors enjoy by evading taxes and pilfering utilities.

I do not know exactly what is in the fine print in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) agreements signed between the Chinese government, which is bringing in $62 billion worth of investment (part of which is loan carrying commercial rates) into a high-risk country, and the government of Pakistan. What, however, I know is, all bilateral aid arrangements, whether with the US, Japan, the UK or Europe, entail conditions that take back at least 99 cents out of each aid dollar. If it is commodity aid, the commodity has to come from the donor country, no matter how expensive compared to the same available from other sources and it had to be shipped in the ships of donors no matter how high the freight charges are. If it is project aid, the consultants would also come from the donor countries as well as the equipment. Most ‘donors’ indulge in transfer pricing with total impunity. So, rich donors do behave like the East India Company, promoting their own commercial interests at the cost of the recipient. The US, at least, until the end of the Cold War had virtually become a neo-colonialist in the case of countries like Pakistan.

Imran to visit China in Nov to ‘discuss its progress’

One more thing. We lack enough skilled labour. We don’t have certified plumbers, trained electricians, trained bell-boys, and even trained gardeners, what to talk of skilled handymen. We don’t even produce enough engineers to fill the jobs that would open up as CPEC gets going in full steam.

That is perhaps why, China is seen bringing in its own trained manpower to complete at least the Gwadar seaport facilities and the economic zone that is supposed to take care of the last phase value addition before the finished and semi-finished goods are loaded on ships for export.

FDI plunges 40pc in July-August - Shahid Iqbal
KARACHI: Foreign direct investment (FDI) fell by 40 per cent in the first two months of current fiscal year increasing the list of problems faced by the newly elected government which is looking to reverse the widening trade gap and depleting foreign exchange reserves.
The sharp decline in FDI comes at a time when the government is already struggling with the declining foreign exchange reserves which have fallen below $10 billion and the country needs additional $9bn to meet the expected current account deficit of about $18bn in FY19. The deficit for FY18 clocked in at $18bn.addition before the finished and semi-finished goods are loaded on ships for export.

Such Gup - Take your pick
In Karachi, a senior Chinese academic and head of a state-affiliated think tank, told a group of influentials that his country may not be able to deliver on its CPEC commitments this year due to economic pressures on its reserves, ostensibly triggered by its trade war with the US. Or is this really because China does not want to subject itself to the transparency that an IMF Pakistan program may call for? Or then again, is it because of our recent bravado on how we are looking to suspend CPEC until Terms & Conditions are reassessed? Whatever the truth, we are caught in the crosshairs of US-China rivalry. So, on the one hand there’s the US-blessed IMF, with attendant conditionalities. On the other, the Chinese, who take over revenue generating institutions when beneficiary countries default on debt repayment, eg Zambia’s main airport, Sri Lanka’s main shipping port etc. Take your pick!

Mr Sidhu, don’t be the Devil’s advocate

Mr Sidhu, don’t be the Devil’s advocate

Madhuri Madhok
August 25, 2018,

Ignorance is sin, but in this case, it is suicidal. Sidhu has betrayed his ignorance of history and facts.

Navjot Singh Sidhu, the cricketer-cum-comedian turned politician seems to be conveniently standing on two boats, India and Pakistan, with his loyalty shifted to the rogue state.

Ignorance is sin, but in this case, it is suicidal. Sidhu, loved by generations of Indians for his earthy humour and Sidhu Vani, has, by his recent actions, betrayed his complete ignorance of history and facts on Pakistan and India-Pakistan relations. It would do him good to learn some hard facts about Pakistan.

First, why was Pakistan created? It was created on the basis of two-nation theory when the Muslims of India under the leadership of M.A. Jinnah and the Muslim League asserted their separate identity, distinct from the Indian/Hindu nation and opted out of it. The creation of an Islamic state under the name of Pakistan within the natural boundaries of India—the basis on which the demand for Partition of India was raised—is the bitter and painful fact of history which cannot be ignored. Even today, it is this anti-India sentiment that is sustaining the failed state called Pakistan.

In the case of Punjab, the whole of East Punjab up to the river Ravi including Lahore was Hindu majority. In Gurdaspur district, taken as a whole, Muslims had a very slender majority. But the part of the district east of Ravi, including the towns of Gurdaspur and Pathankot, were Hindu majority. Therefore East Punjab including Lahore had to remain with India according to the criteria laid down for Partition by the British government for the guidance of the one-man Radcliffe Commission which was to demarcate the areas to be given to Pakistan.

According to Prof Balraj Madhok, Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan, who made an irrefutable case for awarding Lahore to India before the Commission, was aware that the fate of Lahore would be decided not on the basis of facts and arguments but on the basis of political considerations. He, therefore, sent urgent messages to Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to insist on keeping Lahore for India. But Nehru’s cryptic reply, “how does it matter whether a few cities go this way or that way?” came as a rude shock to Mahajan, who never forgave Nehru for this gross betrayal of India’s interests.

Partition should have been followed with the exchange of Hindu population left behind in Pakistan with the Muslim population left behind in truncated India. Jinnah was all for it. He was on record that Muslims could not co-exist with Hindus. Even B.R. Ambedkar had suggested the planned exchange of population as the “logical corollary” of Partition. But this never happened. Those who worked and voted en masse for Pakistan like the Muslims of Bihar and UP were called Mohajirs and are ill-treated even today. Pakistan’s Punjabis, whom Sidhu found to be so loving and hospitable, still rule the roost while minorities, including Ahmadiyyas, are treated worse than animals.

As regards peace, India did everything possible to make peace with Pakistan including ceding its 30% territory to 27% Pakistanis. But what has Pakistan done in return? It has only waged relentless wars on India in the name of Islamic jihad. And India has always been a loser. The full-fledged Pakistani aggression on Jammu and Kashmir in October 1947, which ended with unilateral ceasefire on 1 January 1949, resulted in the loss of 30,000 square miles of territory to Pakistan. In 1965, Indian forces regained control over Haji Peer Pass and Kargil Heights, which were under illegal occupation of the Pakistan army, and a part of Pak territory up to Sialkot and Lahore. But thanks to Soviet pressure at Tashkent, India had to return these to Pakistan for the sake of “peace and friendship”. The Tashkent Declaration also took a toll of India’s tallest Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri, who was found dead in his room at Tashkent under mysterious circumstances on the morning of 11 January 1966.

The 1971 war and the Simla Agreement thereafter converted India’s military victory into a diplomatic defeat and within a decade led Gen Zia-ul-Haq to launch Operation Topac against India. Under this operation, Pakistan not only extended full moral and material support to Khalistani separatists in Indian Punjab, but also unleashed a reign of state-sponsored terror in Kashmir Valley to challenge Kashmir’s accession to India. The religious cleansing of the valley of all Hindus including Sikhs and Kashmiri Pandits was the direct outcome. Then came Kargil, in which Mother India lost 527 of her brave sons and till today Pakistan is waging a relentless proxy war in J&K with the help of jihadists and ISIS personnel.

When it has so much money to fund terror activities in India, Pakistan anyway has enough to tackle its own problems. Sidhu need not worry about that country.

As for Punjabi affection and bonding, so gladly eulogised by Sidhu, let Pakistan display some of it by letting Pakhtoons go to Pakhtoonistan, the Baloch to Balochistan, and let Sindh and Pak-Occupied Kashmir return to India. As far as Punjab is concerned, Sidhu should know what to do. He should work for the merger of West Punjab with East Punjab in the spirit of “sarbat da bhala”. But that would banish Pakistan from the map of the world. Are Sidhu and his ilk ready for that?

Two Pakistani militants dead, Aadhaar cards found: Jammu and Kashmir Police

Two Pakistani militants dead, Aadhaar cards found: Jammu and Kashmir Police

Ali alias Athar was a top Jaish commander involved in the IED blast in Sopore on January 6 in which four policemen were killed, police said.

Srinagar, September 14, 2018.

On Wednesday night, a joint team of J-K Police, Army and paramilitary forces cordoned off the Teliyan neighbourhood of Sopore town after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants.

Two Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militants were killed in an encounter in north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Thursday, police said. While two Aadhaar cards have been recovered from the militants, police said that they were foreigners.

“From the incriminating material recovered from the encounter site, the killed terrorists have been identified as foreigners namely Ali alias Athar and Zia-ur-Rehman,” police said. “They were affiliated to proscribed terror outfit JeM.”

Ali was a top Jaish commander who was behind the IED blast in Sopore on January 6 in which four policemen were killed, police said. Both militants were involved in attacks on security establishments, police said.

On Wednesday night, a joint team of J-K Police, Army and paramilitary forces cordoned off the Teliyan neighbourhood of Sopore town after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants.

As the joint team zeroed in on the target house on Thursday, militants opened fire and tried to break the security cordon. The joint team retaliated, triggering an encounter in which both the trapped militants were killed.

According to the Aadhaar cards recovered from the militants, the two were residents of Kupwara, identified as Sahil Ahmad Dar and Mohd Yaseen, police said, adding that they are trying to ascertain how the Aadhaar cards were procured.

While Sopore town is seen as a militant stronghold, Thursday’s encounter was the first in the town in over four years.

Pakistan willing to open Afghan land route for India: US envoy - Anwar Iqbal

WASHINGTON: Pakistan approached Afghanistan earlier this year, indicating its willingness to discuss the resumption of trade between Afghanistan and India through the Pakistani land route, says a senior US diplomat.

In an interview to India’s Economic Times newspaper, Ambassador John Bass said that reopening land routes between South and Central Asia will benefit all countries in the region.

Pakistan does not allow India to use the land route for trading with Afghanistan, arguing that technical and strategic issues connected to transit trade should be resolved first.

“A couple of months ago, for the first time the Pakistani government expressed a willingness to start talks with its Afghan counterparts for parameters to enabling trade between India and Afghanistan through Pakistan,” Mr Bass said.

The US ambassador to Afghanistan also said that Indian firms were gradually increasing their investments in Afghanistan. Last year’s trade show in Delhi led to $27 million of investments at the event itself, and another $200 million of “prospective” investments from Indian companies, much of which had materialised, he added.

Ambassador Bass told the Indian newspaper that a political settlement in Afghanistan was in Pakistan’s long-term interest. “Increased trade in both directions, increased connectivity through central and south Asia through Afghanistan — those are all missed opportunities if Pakistan has its sole focus on perpetuating the status quo,” he said.

The US envoy said that India raised the issue of US sanctions on Iran when US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defence Secretary Jim Mattis visited New Delhi earlier this month for Two-plus-Two talks.

The Indians were particularly interested in knowing how the sanctions would impact Chabahar port, which was built in Iran with Indian assistance for connecting India with Central Asia through Afghanistan.

The Indian government conveyed its perspectives “on the importance of Chabahar as a means to expand bilateral trade and help improve Afghanistan’s connectivity with South Asia,” he said.

“We are processing and evaluating how best to reimpose sanctions on Iran, with the Iranian regime’s malevolent behaviour and its activities in destabilising its neighbours,” Ambassador Bass said.

“My government is still thinking through how Chabahar factors in the reimposition of the toughest sanctions that we believe need to be put in place to hold the Iranian government accountable for its action.”

He said the US administration was reviewing the sanctions to see how to deal with such issues, without hurting the US objective of persuading Iran to change its policies.

Ambassador Bass said the US realised that the conflict in Afghanistan could not be resolved through military means alone. “No one in the US government is saying at this point that we expect this conflict to end with a military victory. We believe that this conflict will end with a political settlement,” he said.

Are These Kinds Of FIA "Raids" Enough To Get Pakiland Off The Hook From The Coming FATF Black List

FIA cracks down on Hawala business in Peshawar, recovers Rs25mn
PESHAWAR: The FIA on Sunday arrested over 25 persons and recovered foreign currency worth Rs25 million in an operation against the illegal business of Hawala/Hundi in Peshawar on Sunday.
Afghan nationals are among those arrested from Karkhano Market and Chowk Yadgar for involvement in the transfer of money through illegal channels, said Director General of Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) wing Bashir Ahmed Memon.
Afghan nationals/ refugees living on this side of the Durand are now becoming "political futball" in the dispute between Pakiland and Afghanistan . This is a "good example " of the discrimination practiced against the Pathans of KP !
A heavy contingent of the police force was deployed during the operation. Over 50 shops were sealed while the raid was under way.
DG FIA Ahmed noted that continued operations of the hundi business are not possible without the involvement of FIA officials.
"Greasing the palm" business
Last month, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) gave Pakistan 15 months to comply with its requirements, with the deadline set to expire in September 2019. At least 27 deficiencies were identified by the FATF pertaining to currency smuggling, hawala, and terror financing of proscribed organisations. A National Action Committee was accordingly formed to deal with the issue.
And the result is this !

In the last 5 years Pakistan's Lollywood film industry made Rs. 760 Crore Rupees (Rs. 7,600 million rupees) in total. This is amazing when you consider Pakistan only has ~90 operating cinemas. The industry is still small, but there's plenty of room for it to grow!

The most successful movie of the year is Jawani Phir Nahin Aani 2 which has broken all previous record of business and has so far minted 540 million in two weeks of its release followed by Teefa in Trouble, Parwaaz Hai Junoon, Load Wedding and Saat Din Mohabbat In. The movies are still running successfully and wide opens the door for movie trade.

CJP Nisar Wades Into Unchartered Waters

Pakistan SC summons CEOs of mineral water companies over 'exploitation' of resources
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Supreme Court on Saturday ordered the chief executive officers of major mineral water companies to appear before it on Sunday in a case regarding the alleged exploitation of water resources in the country.

Where does the responsibility of this ego-istic CJP begin . And where does it end . He seems to be a one man mission to fix Paki problems be it water, transgender rights, "corruption" etc etc
Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, who was heading the two-member bench, had taken suo motu notice of the issue on Friday and sought data regarding water usage by the companies from departments concerned, the Dawn reported.
While hearing the case at the Supreme Court's Lahore Registry on Saturday, CJP Nisar said the court will see "whether the mineral water (provided by the companies) even has minerals in it or not". Justice Nisar said companies selling water should sit with the government and decide a rate for extracting water.
Will HE also have the time to "sit " on that committee as well
A lawyer for the federal government informed the court that the mineral water companies pay the government 25 paise per litre of water, while selling it for Rs 50 per litre, the daily said.At this, the CJP remarked that he himself boiled and drank tap water at home because "that is what (the people of) my nation are drinking". And "we" are supposed to take this "bombastic announcement" at face value
He observed that a poor person was compelled to drink pond water even today.Justice Nisar emphasised the value of water by saying that it was now even more expensive than gold.He said people have gotten into the habit of drinking mineral water and money was being made off of a natural resource."We will not allow the theft of water under any condition," the top judge warned.
He is "appointing" himself as a representative of the poor people of Pakiland
The CJP observed that the companies making money from water get ahead while common people get left behind, adding that steps need to be taken to improve the lives of the common man.
The court subsequently ordered the CEOs of all major companies ( the powerful Multi Nationals should ignore this "order" and send a low level clerk to see the CJP . And hence bust his giant sized ego !) selling mineral water — including Nestle, Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Gourmet — to appear before the bench on Sunday.

Is The "Immy Factor" Responsible For This "Bonus"

Pakistan IT exports create history
The News International
Web Desk - Business
Sept 16, 2018
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's IT exports crossed $ 1 billion during the fiscal year that ended in June, according to Geo News on Sunday. According to the State Bank of Pakistan, ( word of mouth by a low level SBP officer taken as gospel truth  ) country's IT exports soared to $ 1.06 billion dollar during the last fiscal year which according to experts were limited to 400 million dollars annually.
Geo News reported that Information Technology has become a significant part of Pakistani exports with its potential to general revenue.
India is of course one of the main exporters of IT expertise . So there is an = = consideration to be taken into account for Echendee purposes
Pakistan's current account deficit, a broad measure of imbalance between imports and exports, has soared to 18 billion dollars.
And the "sudden jump" in I.T. export ( not International Terrorism !) will hopefully fix the problem

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's IT exports crossed $ 1 billion during the fiscal year that ended in June, according to Geo News on Sunday. According to the State Bank of Pakistan, country's IT exports soared to $ 1.06 billion dollar during the last fiscal year which according to experts were limited to 400 million dollars annually.
I am not sure who in pakhanistan to believe at this point. If the above is true, then what was this hoopla all about less then six months ago? Misinformation? Fact check from Googlekhala.

Pakistan’s IT sector advancing rapidly as exports jump to $5b
February 16, 2018
A combination of youth and technology (along with sialkoti arithmetic, pakjabi guile and djinn smoke and mirrors) has allowed Pakistan’s information technology (IT) exports to jump to $5 billion, Co-Founder of 10XC, a technology start-up accelerator and seed fund, Saif Akhtar, said on Thursday.
“During 2016-17, Pakistan’s IT exports were $3.3 billion, which have jumped to $5 billion and are expected to grow to $6 billion next year”

Pakistan IT export reaches $2.9 bn
Nov 30 2017
Due to government incentives to IT and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITeS) industry Pakistan’s IT exports have grown to an estimated $2.9 billion, which includes Pakistani freelancers estimated to be earning more than $300 million annually.
Total annual revenue of Pakistan’s IT Industry is nearing $3.5 billion.

Why bother? Pakhanistan is a mega jail. CJP invokes Article 6 and 50 million people will have to remain where they are today.
“I have started reviewing Article 6 which deals with high treason,” the chief justice said, adding he is minutely examining the scope of Article 6 to see whether it could be invoked against opponents of the national cause. The Article 6 of the Constitution states: "Any person who abrogates or subverts or suspends or holds in abeyance, or attempts or conspires to abrogate or subverts or suspends or holds in abeyance, the Constitution by use of force or show of force or by any other unconstitutional means shall be guilty of high treason."

Physician, heal thyself. Do as I say, not as I do.

Mismatch between Imran Khan’s words and Punjab govt’s deeds!
The Prime Minister, Imran Khan, on Friday gave a pep talk to the senior members of the civilian bureaucracy to boost their morale for efficiency and good governance, without realising that his words are being negated by the action of his own party’s government in Punjab the same day.
While at Islamabad the premier was assuring the government servants that they would be protected from political pressures as well as from being haunted by the National Accountability Bureau, almost at the same time in Lahore the PR Punjab Department was issuing a hand out No 1708 announcing action against two deputy commissioners who had recently complained of political interference by some PTI MPs.

Paki Medical Delegation Becomes First Victim Of Kaptaan's So-Called Austerity Drive

PM Imran’s austerity drive: PMDC delegation stopped from going abroad at public expense
Sept 16, 2018
AMABAD – The ministry of national health services (NHS) ( did not know that there is such an "animal" in the Paki Goberment  ) has stopped a delegation of Pakistan Medical and Dental College (PMDC) from going abroad at public expense.
The matter was brought to the knowledge of NHS Minister ( Oh, I see . Health Minister renamed as NHS along the lines of Bartania :D ) Aamer Mehmood Kiani who directed the official concerned to get the visit stopped at public expense as it was against the government’s austerity drive.
The ministry in its letter to PMDC President Mian Sakirullah Jan wrote that it has been learnt that a PMDC delegation is visiting the Queen Mary University of London.
“It is understood that the University of Queen Mary London is providing funds for two members of the delegation and for the remaining two, PMDC is providing funds to visit UK, the letter stated. In view of the austerity drive, it has been decided that no visit shall be undertaken at public expense, it added. The council has also been directed that the visit may only be undertaken by those whose expense is covered by the sponsoring agency.
So, "100% begging" AKA "all expense covered by the sponsoring agency " is still allowed, but 50% is forbidden ie haraam

15 injured after nine bogies of Khushhal Express derailed near Attock
Sept 16, 2018
LAHORE – At least fifteen passengers have injured after nine coaches of Khushhal Express, ( The Orwellian name of "Kushhal" did not help either !) scheduled from Karachi to Peshawar, derailed near Attock on Sunday late morning. The derailment took place between the Sohan Bridge and Makhad Road Railway Stations, Which is about 85 kilometres from federal Captial Islamabad, around 11am.
Bet the 15 injured Abduls and Ayeshas were not "khushhal" ( i.e happy) either
The train, which had departed from Karachi on Saturday, was en route to Peshawar via Mianwali and Attock. According to the Railways ministry, a rescue train had been sent to the site of the incident.
Keep your fingers crossed that the rescue train makes it safely to its destination !

Most Likely Fake News ! But "Enjoy" This Mega News - About The Gamechanger CPEC - While You Can

Saudi Arabia ‘joining CPEC to make Gwadar an oil city’
Sept 16, 2018
LAHORE – China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is set to get a major push as Saudi Arabia is expected to join the multi-billion-dollar project soon. With the Islamic kingdom joining the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) of the Chinese government, the major stakeholders – Islamabad and Beijing – would speed up the efforts to complete projects as soon as possible.Reports in media suggest Saudia Arabia is going to turn Gawadar into an oil city.
Can be classed in the same category as that other news today : Pakistan IT exports create history
Pakistan needs $9 billion to run state affairs and it will overcome its difficulties with the heavy investment coming from China and Saudi Arabia.
This "newspaper" beat me to my "punch line" ! The begging will never, never, stop !
In September last year, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Ahmed Al-Malky said that Saudi Arabia would “soon” undertake investments at Gwadar Port and join the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Money talks, BS walks !
KSA will also be able to help China to have a better crude oil for its import purposes as billions of dollars of China’s economy is highly dependent on the trade activities. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, both can benefit from the exclusive trade routes under the BRI project.
If wishes were horses, beggars would ride . ! And the Saudis- including their ambassadors, envoys and ministers - are "notorious" for "opening their mouth" and never following through their promises . ( the usual "check is in the mail" excuse )

Immy's "Friend" Rebuff's Kaptaan's Offer Of Ambassadorship

PM Imran Khan’s close friend responds over news of appointment as High Commissioner in Britain
Sept 16, 2018
Reports surfaced that Amir Jahangir, who is Imran Khan’s friend for 40 years, could become Pakistan’s high commissioner to the UK after Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who is also a good friend of Amir Jahangir, directed the country's High Commissioner to the UK Sahabzada Ahmed Khan to report at the Foreign Office in Islamabad after “irresponsible activity” at an awards ceremony here.
In the conspiracy laden atmosphere of Pakiland, hard to figure out , what is fake news and what is not. However, do not blame the "robust" Paki media for bringing this sensational news to the attention of the Aam Abdul and the corresponding "denial" by Imran's "fast friend" .
Just recently a PTI ticket was issued to Railway Minister ( Randibaaz) Rashid's nephew for a by election . F.M. Qureshi's son was elected as a PTI MNA member from Multan in the last election . So, there is a stench of nepotism - hanging in the Isloo atmosphere- in Imran's Naya Pakistan

Large number of dead fish discovered at Karachi beach

Sept 16, 2018
*KARACHI - A large number of dead fish was discovered on Karachi Clifton beach on Sunday.*
According to details, thousands of dead fish have washed ashore along the city’s coastline between Seaview and Do Darya. A number of denizens, who reached the beach for a day out, had to return home owing to dead fish and foul smell caused by them.
Some local fishermen were seen collecting dead fish which they are likely to sell out in the city. There was no official from the department ( whatever happened to Naya Pakistan  ) concerned to stop them or undertake efforts to clean the beach.
PS: As of now, no announcement or statement from the Govt of Sind or The GOP stating that RAA is responsible for "polluting" Krachi waters . ( similar to earlier allegations that India is "stealing" Pakistan's water  )

Sept 1, 2018

Doubly wammy ! Un Islamic behaviour plus dancing to a dushman music

Pakistan Is An Islamic Country . There Is No Naam-O- Nishan Of Drug Addiction And / Or Existence Of Drug Rehabilitation Centres !

Man dies from alleged torture at rehabilitation centre in Rawalpindi
Dawn
Sept 16, 2018
A 24-year-old man, who was admitted by his parents to a drug rehabilitation clinic in Rawalpindi's Panj Sarki area a week ago, died of alleged torture by the facility's medical staff on Saturday, DawnNews TV reported. The victim's father told DawnNews TV that he had admitted his son — who had been using drugs for a year — at the said centre on Sept 9.On Sept 13, the father said, that the centre had shown to him camera footage of his son in which he had looked healthy. However, on Sept 15 (Saturday), the facility's staff informed the parents that their son had suddenly died.
When the parents arrived at the centre, they found torture marks on the dead body while also noticing that their son's head had been shaved.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Usman Tariq told DawnNews TV that the dead body has been sent to the District Headquarters Hospital for a post-mortem examination, and that police are awaiting the doctors' report.
ASP Tariq further said that if the post-mortem examination report identifies torture as the cause of death, police will register a case against the rehabilitation centre's doctors.

Another case for the active CJP of Pakistan ! Are the staff trained to handle this "modern" disease  Drug addiction deaths do not exist in Pakiland . It is an Islamic country . Hence, the refusal to register an FIR makes sense , at least IMO ! Thank Allah for small mercies !

Being Ahmadi
Ball is now in I'm the Dim's court.
What happened to Dr Atif is nothing new to us and happens every day to Ahmadis in Pakistan,” Aamir Mehmood, spokesperson of the Ahmaddiya Community, tells The News on Sunday, over phone from Rabwah, a city in the Punjab province which is also known as Chenab Nagar.
In 1974, under pressure from the religious clerics, the then president of Pakistan, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, declared the approximately five million Ahmadis living in Pakistan as non-Muslim. In 1984, through a discriminatory ordinance, military dictator, General Ziaul Haq prohibited them from identifying themselves as Muslims and criminalising their religious practices.
And over the last 44 years, says Mehmood, the state-sponsored discrimination has only grown and “we are being forced to the wall”.
Human rights lawyer, Yasser Latif Hamdani says by not repealing or amending the discriminatory legislations, the state has been “complicit” in abuses perpetrated against the Ahmadis. So is each and every Pakistani citizen who has yet to refuse to sign an affidavit when applying for a national ID card or a passport stating: “I consider Mirza Ghulam Ahmad an impostor prophet.
“I feel I am doing something reprehensible, but I have done it not once but every five years my passport expires!” says Sohaila Waqar, 65-year-old doctor belonging to the Sunni community. Without signing that document that she is forced to, she cannot have the travel document.
“Our community members are a frequent target of mob violence and our places of worship routinely desecrated,” says Mehmood.
Over the years those from the community who could afford have emigrated. Those still around hide their identity.
Thirty five-year-old Mohammad Saleem*, food technician at a beverage company...
Thirty-seven year old Ali Habib*, an engineer in the Pakistan Air Force...
Shafiq Ahmed*, 39-year-old primary school teacher in a government school...
According to Mehmood, matters are far worse in Punjab than in the other three provinces. “There is now a ban on publishing and distributing any kind of literature even within the community including the magazines that were published for women, children and youth, our websites are blocked too,” and thus a complete shut down on communication.
Earlier in 2010, the Punjab government had made it mandatory for students to reveal whether they were ‘Muslim or non-Muslim’ before being admitted to school or college, or even before registering for the board exams.
In March this year, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) chief justice, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui narrowed public space for the community when he passed an order stating that anyone seeking the CNIC, passport, birth certificate, registration in a voters’ list, and appointment in government and semi-government institutions — especially the judiciary, the armed forces or the civil service — must sign an affidavit disclosing their faith.
But IHC’s order did not just come out of the blue. It was triggered by something that happened last October when the parliament tried to bring a slight change in a clause of Khatam-e-Nubuwwat in the Elections Reforms Bill 2017.
The then little known Tehreek e Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah began a sit-in by at Faizabad — between Islamabad and Rawalpindi — accusing the government of having committed “blasphemy” by omitting a requirement for Ahmadi voters to declare they are not Muslim. The same month, the Islamabad High Court then reversed all amendments in sections of the Elections Act pertaining to the Khatem-i-Nabuwwat oath.
PM Imran Khan, during his election campaign earlier in July, never forgot to mention and accuse the then ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of committing “blasphemy” by changing the oath. It seems it is now Khan’s turn to face the wrath of the very same extremists he was pandering to.
One thing is certain the PTI government is hopeless; certainly the judiciary is not likely to step up to the plate and the army does not care for anything but their own interests!

Govt to grant citizenship to children of Afghan refugees
Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Sunday announced that his government will provide citizenship to the children of Afghan refugees and refugees from Bangladesh.
Moreover, the four provinces have reportedly expressed concern and said that they were unwilling to accommodate undocumented and illegal Afghan refugees.
Security concerns were reportedly cited as the reasons for the provinces’ stance on the matter.
Pakistan hosts around 1.38 million registered Afghan refugees
However, there are scores of unregistered Afghan refugees as well which takes the number well above three million
This should be fun.

Another English Girl, Victim Of Rapacious Pakis !

English Girl Allegedly Abducted, Forced Into 2 Marriages, 8 Abortions by Pakistanis During 12-year Captivity
Breitbart News
Sept 15, 2018
Details of what may be Britain’s worst ever grooming gang case are emerging after being taken up by a member of the House of Lords, with the victim allegedly abducted, held captive for 12 years, and forced into two Islamic marriages and eight abortions. House of Lords crossbencher Baroness Caroline Cox has taken up the case of ‘Sarah’, who says she was kidnapped in a Tesco car park aged 15 and subjected to a constant succession of rapes and beatings over 12 years of captivity while police refused to intervene, according to the Daily Mail. “I know Sarah and her family,” Baroness Cox told the newspaper. “Every sex grooming case is terrible. But the length and cruelty of her abduction make it the worst I have known.”
Crimes (including white collar !) committed by Pakis ( of Brit origin) are increasingly becoming problems in the British House Of Commons or The British House Of Lords, leaving important business unattended !
‘Sarah’ was allegedly taken by a Pakistani Muslim with a large extended family and connections to the minicab trade and “raped, beaten, and made to swallow strong sedatives every day to make her docile”, before being forced into a kind of domestic slavery and “made to learn the Koran in Arabic and allowed to speak only in the Pakistani languages of Urdu and Punjabi”, according to the Daily Mail account of her ordeal.
Police are alleged to have refused to investigate her disappearance or even list her as missing, and the Mail reports her as claiming that even after she finally escaped and tried to report her experience to the authorities “a Muslim [police] officer turned off the tape recorder during an interview… and told her to drop allegations against one of her attackers ‘because of lack of evidence’.” These Pakis ( in UK ) living in England, with a British Passport, their first allegiance is to Pakistan and Islam !
“The police officer came from the same community ( Pakjabi biradari system ! ) as the gang and has since been imprisoned for child sex crimes himself,” she told the newspaper.
‘Sarah’ says her alleged captor, said to have forced her to wear Islamic clothing including a veil, came to her one day and presented her with an “Islamic wedding certificate signed by an imam at the local mosque” and told her they were married.“I now think this marriage was to make the police believe I was a willing wife if they ever found me,” she said.
When her alleged captor tired of her, he dissolved their ‘marriage’ by simply telling her three times that they were divorced, in the Islamic style, and married off to another Muslim. She said she was simply bundled downstairs from her bedroom with almost no warning into a roomful of clapping guests, with the ‘wedding’ ceremony being over in a matter of minutes before she was forced upstairs with her new ‘husband’.“The women had put petals on my bed in the Muslim tradition,” she claimed
She should thank her stars that she was not put on a PIA plane to "visit her relatives in Pakistan"
“The strange man began putting his hands all over me. I was so weak I couldn’t fight him. He raped me as the wedding party was still going on downstairs.” ‘Sarah’ now lives at a secret address away from her family, so they cannot be threatened, but her alleged kidnapper, who tracked her down after a failed escape once before, is alleged to have acquired her phone number already, and called to abuse her as “white trash”.She is receiving advice from the Christian Legal Centre and the Mothers Against Radical Islam and Sharia organisation as the police belatedly gather evidence to present to the Crown Prosecution Service — but it appears that no charges have been laid against her alleged abusers for the time being.
When is Naya Pakistan's Captain ( Imran) going to "looks into" this " problem" and do the needful !!!

"Toxic" PTI MNA Aamir Liaqat Refused Permission To See His Kaptaan

Aamir Liaquat barred from meeting PM Imran at Karachi State Guest House
The News International
Sept 16, 2018
KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Aamir Liaquat Hussain, who has been embroiled with controversies since he joined the party, was reportedly barred from meeting Prime Minister Imran Khan at the state guest house in Karachi on Sunday. According to media reports, Security officials did not allow Aamir Liaquat Hussain to enter the guest house premises, where he came to greet the prime minister.
In anticipation of receiving a green signal from security protocol, he (Aamir) waited outside before he eventually left the place without meeting the Prime Minister Imran Khan. When asked by media persons, the PTI minister responded that he had in fact turned up ahead of schedule.
Liaqat was able to "deliver" Karachi for the Kaptaan, due to his Mohajir ethnicity . He has since been side-lined by the Pakjabi dominated political party of PTI. IOW, he was "used" by the Kaptaan !

India unleashing water aggression on Pakistan: Hashwani
Hashoo Group Chairman and renowned businessmen Sadruddin Hashwani said the future wars will be fought over water, and Pakistan was also facing water aggression.
