China To Massage Imran's And Pakistan's Ego At The Shanghai Expo

PM Imran Khan to arrive in China as "Guest of Honour"
Oct 14, 2018
BEIJING : Prime Minister Imran Khan will arrive in Chinese commercial and industrial hub Shanghai to attend the opening of China International Import Expo (CIIE) on November 5, officials said here on Sunday.
The Chinese government has granted the status of “Guest of Honor” to Pakistan at the CIIE, to be held till November 10.
If Pakistan is "indisposed' , doubt that another "Guest Of Honor" country can be lined up
This will ensure the provision of all possible facilities and benefits to the Pakistani pavilion. It is also a reflection of special gesture of goodwill towards Pakistan, especially when the country’s Prime Minister is going to participate in it.
Apart from fish and shrimps and towels and shirts , ( and maybe, CPEC spouses !) what else can China import from Pakistan.
According to Pakistan’s Ambassador Masood Khalid, a pavilion of Pakistani companies exporting various items to China would be set up at the expo. This will facilitate enhancing Pakistan’s export to China and to improve its balance of trade position between the two countries.
Hope is eternal . Does not necessarily translate into hard dollars or yuans !
More than 100 new products and technologies are expected to make debut at the expo, according to statistics from the organizers.

Mr Sania Mirza Discounts "Bazar Gossip " That A Boy Is On The Way For His Spouse

Shoaib Malik responds to media reports over arrival of baby boy
Oct 15, 2018
ISLAMABAD - Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shoaib Malik has rejected the news of the arrival of the baby boy.
He has dismissed the circulating gossip about the birth of his first child with tennis sensation Sania Mirza.
Very early "speculations" were that both( "mom and dad " ) at one time, did not want the baby "saddled" with either Indian or Paki citizenship , and were therefore contemplating a "foreign birth" . All reports now indicate, that the child is likely to be born in India !

Madame Jalebi Speaks Outside The Realm Of Her ( Human Rights ) Portfolio

Pakistan facing confronting discrimination at international level in nuclear field
Oct 15, 2018
ISLAMABAD: Human Rights Minister Dr Shireen Mazari on Monday said that Pakistan is confronting discrimination at international level in the nuclear field.
Chairing the first session on the Future of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Regime at the International Conference on “Global Non-Proliferation Regime: Challenges and Response”, the minister maintained that discriminatory instruments in Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) and policy regarding the new entrant states was a challenge for Pakistan. “Increasing arms race in South Asia. India’s Ballistic Missile Defence System and US support for India’s NSG membership are undermining strategic stability in South Asia and Pakistan would not join the Treaty on Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in prevailing situation,” said Mazari.
Did not know that Imran has assigned her the portfolio Of Nuclear Affairs in addition to her responsibility on Human Rights. What a toxic combo . Just as water and oil do not mix , so Nuclear Affairs and Human Rights should be kept separate, at least IMO
“US and other signatories have violated the Article 1 and 2 of NPT by signing new deals with India. With this attitude, countries outside the NPT cannot join it,” the minister explained.
Here she is bashing USA and India . And her daughter, Imaan is blasting the Deep State from her safe sanctuary in Geneva . What a family !
Shireen Mazari added that the world has to stop overlooking and should start discussion on Israel’s nuclear program for any progress on non-proliferation.“No one talks about Israel’s nuclear program, we have to start discussing Israel’s program if we wish to make any progress on non-proliferation,” said Mazari.

Jalebi seems to have conveniently forgotten that NOKO and Iran Nuclear Programs were the direct result of Xerox Khan ( and the Paki Fauj ) proliferation effort . And look what the world is facing now . So, she should "forget" Israel
The conference is being organized by the Strategic Studies Institute Islamabad. Experts from Iran, Russia, UK, France, China, Egypt and US along with Pakistani experts are attending the conference.
So, PISS ( Pakistan Institute of Strategic Studies ) is not involved here . Or it is just a new dress for this notorious acronym PISS ( ie Strategic Studies Institute, Isloo!)

A "New Hamid Gul Type" Is Now Head Of I.S.I :!:

Pakistan gets a hardline spy master to head the ISI
By Kunwar Khuldune Shahid
Oct 15, 2018
Former Military Intelligence chief Lieutenant General Asim Munir has been appointed as director-general of Pakistan’s spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Munir will formally take over the position on October 25, following the retirement of Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar.
The announcement comes a couple of weeks after Munir’s promotion to be a three-star general. With Lieutenant General Mukhtar set to retire at the end of this month, Munir was considered a front-runner to become Pakistan’s next spymaster.
His intelligence experience as Military Intelligence chief was a major reason why he was tipped as favorite for the ISI position. Military officials said Munir was the “Army Chief’s guy”, which underscores why the balance was tipped in his favor.
While the ISI chief is officially appointed by the prime minister, in Pakistan it is usually the Army chief who handpicks the spymaster. And it was the Chief of the Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, who appointed Munir as his Military Intelligence chief in one of his first major calls at the helm of the military in November 2016.
“It was the Army Chief who picked the prime minister who picked the ISI chief,” a leading security analyst quipped, referring to claims that Imran Khan’s election as premier was engineered by the all-powerful Pakistani military.
As they say , Immy was selected , rather than elected . ! And it was Bajwa, who "guided" Imran as to when to shake hands, how to walk etc etc and observe other PM protocols ,and keeping a sideways eyes at him when Imran stumbled , in the first few days
Munir won the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, the second highest civilian award given to both civilians and military officials, in March this year in recognition of his “meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of Pakistan, world peace, cultural or other significant public endeavors”. :((
Munir is also a Hafiz-e-Quran (person who has memorized the Koran), and is seen within the military as a devout and practicing Muslim, who adheres to Pakistan Army’s Islam-centric narrative.
So, there is a guarantee now that Ghazwa- E - Be Hind is still on the Agenda !
Having worked as a Major General in Gilgit-Baltistan, where the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) starts in Pakistan, and having been posted as a Lieutenant Colonel in Saudi Arabia before that, Lt Gen Asim Munir has firsthand experience of engagement with Pakistan’s two most significant strategic partners.
So, he has "experience" dealing with two full mai-baaps, Massa and half -partner Japan are missing
Within Army ranks Asim Munir has the reputation of a ‘hardliner’. His subordinates maintain that his strictness has a cult status among the troops he has managed. Observers have expressed concern that Munir will bring a similar hardline approach as the spymaster, increasing the involvement of the intelligence agency in civilian matters even more than it already has.
If he is a hardliner then he must be practicing Taqqiya . He is not sporting a beard ! ( but then neither did Zia and Gul !)
The decision last week to expel 18 international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) from Pakistan was also taken at the behest of the ISI as well, well-placed sources in the Interior Ministry have confirmed.
Similarly, authorities on Friday arrested rights activist Gulalai Ismail, who is a member of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) – a Pashtun nationalist movement that is critical of the Pakistan Army.
Military sources say that Munir is a no-nonsense ideologue, who will not tolerate any dissent or spreading of narratives that don’t toe the line defined by the Army.
Therefore, a further clampdown on NGOs, activists and an already subdued media is expected under Asim Munir.
Is he a match for Pompeo

Market watch: Stocks bleed as index plunges another 750 points - Our Correspondent

KARACHI: Stocks continued to bleed as the KSE-100 index tumbled over 1,200 points in intra-day trading on Monday and ended the third successive session in the red.

Despite the government’s announcement of returning to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a bailout, investor confidence could not be restored as the selling spree continued. As a result, the index dropped below the psychological barrier of 37,000 points.

The IMF’s projection that average inflation in Pakistan might hit 14% by June next year further fuelled the bearish sentiment.

Declining foreign exchange reserves also worried investors, which also contributed to the index’s plunge to an intra-day low of 36,274.25 points – a level last seen in June 2016.

Commenting on the situation, Topline Securities’ analyst Nabeel Khursheed said the IMF’s latest forecast had painted a bleak picture of Pakistan’s economy.

KSE-100 plunges 4.4% in turbulent week

“The forecast is driving the market down. Higher inflation means an exorbitant increase in the benchmark interest rate,” he added.

The higher inflation along with interest rate hike would put the economy under severe pressure, Khursheed pointed out.

Other analysts said foreign selling and redemption calls forced mutual fund managers to sell part of their holdings at current low prices, which also contributed negatively to the index.

The unfolding political drama and deteriorating macroeconomic indicators hit the stock market hard.

At close, the benchmark KSE 100-share Index recorded a decrease of 750.36 points or 2% to settle at 36,767.57.

Elixir Securities’ analyst Murtaza Jafar said the benchmark KSE-100 index continued its downward journey and closed 2% lower on economic concerns and dearth of liquidity.

The PSX Stock Brokers Association held a meeting with Finance Minister Asad Umar and SECP officials to consider what confidence-building measures were needed as the market had plunged 10.3% so far this month.

Uncertainty wipes $41b off PSX capitalisation

“We expect the recent sell-off to taper off around 35,000-35,500 points while we prefer financial and energy stocks on weakness,” Jafar said.

JS Global analyst Danish Ladhani said investor enthusiasm was low as selling pressure prevailed despite the government’s announcement that it was going to the IMF for a bailout package.

“Moreover, the rupee declined Rs1.40 against the dollar, trading between Rs133.20 and Rs133.40. Furthermore, there were whispers that the market expected the removal of Lucky Cement and United Bank from the MSCI large-cap index and their inclusion in the small-cap index in the next MSCI reclassification due on November 13, which further hampered the market,” Ladhani added.

Top heavyweights Pakistan Petroleum (-2.70%), Oil and Gas Development Company (-0.30%), Habib Bank (-0.89%), Engro (-2.52%), MCB Bank (-3.86%), United Bank (-0.04%), Fauji Fertiliser (-1.68%) and Hubco (-1.50%) cumulatively erased 232 points from the index.

Cement heavyweight Lucky Cement (-3.85%) was a major laggard that closed near its lower price limit.

Market watch: Stocks hammered as KSE-100 loses 880 points

“Moving forward, we expect investor sentiment to remain choppy amid absence of any macroeconomic triggers. Therefore, the KSE-100 will remain under pressure along with selling pressure from foreign investors,” the analyst said.

Overall, trading volumes increased to 165.5 million shares compared with Friday’s tally of 135.4 million. The value of shares traded during the day was Rs6.1 billion.

Shares of 371 companies were traded. At the end of the day, 83 stocks closed higher, 269 declined and 19 remained unchanged.

TRG Pakistan was the volume leader with 16.8 million shares, losing Rs0.54 to close at Rs22. It was followed by Unity Foods with 8.8 million shares, gaining Rs0.30 to close at Rs25.22 and K-Electric Limited with 7.5 million shares, losing Rs0.07 to close at Rs5.14.

Foreign institutional investors were net sellers of Rs424.6 million worth of shares during the trading session, according to data compiled by the National Clearing Company of Pakistan.

DAWN Target Of Fake News. Once Again !

Fake news about Maryam Nawaz being shared online
Dawn

Yet another fake screenshot doctored to pose as a Dawn.com news article surfaced on social media on Saturday.

The fake post attempts to mislead the public and stakeholders by suggesting that PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz is expecting and falsely claims that "Dawn news" has obtained her medical reports. The doctored image — besides reporting news which is completely false — also has a whole host of differences from what an authentic Dawn.com news article looks like.In order to ensure authorities and the public do not fall prey to such mischievous machinations in future, the following points detail how it can be identified that the screenshot is fake.
This is not the first attempt to mislead the public by circulating fake news using Dawn.com platforms.
Hackers and malicious groups attempt to damage reputations and stir up virulent and negative campaigns to serve their agenda... Dawn had been a target of such online campaigns in the past, too.
Dawn Star Reporter Goan Cyril Almeida has been slapped on treason charges and is currently on bail. His crime was to interview Ganja Sharif !
PS: No prizes for guessing who the culprit or culprits might be

Now Denmark Offers "Alms" To "Beggar Pakistan"

Denmark offers financing for wind energy projects
Pakistan Today
Oct 15, 2018
KARACHI: Denmark has offered to finance new wind power projects in Pakistan on concessional terms in order to help the latter lessen its reliance on expensive fossil fuels for power production.“Keeping in mind our aim of 100 per cent electricity generation on the basis of renewable energy resources by the year 2030, we can offer you financing for your wind power projects on concessional terms. For some projects, we can even offer zero per cent interest rate,” said Ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan Rolf Michael Hay Pereira Holmboe during his recent interaction with newsmen in connection with the 3rd International Wind Energy Summit held in Karachi.
Pakis should grab the tempting offer ASAP, before it disappears
The Danish ambassador highlighted that the construction of wastewater treatment plant in Faisalabad, in which Denmark was co-financing with an investment of $100 million to $150 million, was one such instance of financial support from his country to Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD: World Bank (WB) has agreed to facilitate an international conference with the collaboration of the Ministry of Climate Change in order to attract potential international donors for funding of key environmental projects in Pakistan.
The decision was taken in a meeting between Advisor to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Khan and the World Bank delegation in Islamabad on Friday. The World Bank delegation called on the advisor to discuss common modalities for future cooperation in climate-related projects.

“We have successfully completed the one-billion tree tsunami project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, an initiative that received global praise. Now we are upscaling this into a ten billion tree tsunami project at the national level.”The minister said that the government was well aware of the challenges pertaining to climate change, adding that the government had a clear agenda on the issue.
Anna Wellenstein, leader of the WB delegation, said that World Bank was ready to arrange an international conference with the collaboration of Ministry of Climate Change where Pakistan’s case would be presented and international assistance would be sought from potential donors.

US Female Diplo Involved In Car Accident, Flies For Her Life !

US consulate car hits, injures motorcyclist in Karachi
ARY News
Oct 16, 2018 - Web Desk
KARACHI: A motorcyclist on Monday got wounded after being hit by a vehicle of the United States consulate in Karachi, ARY News reported.
A female official of the US consulate was driving the car when this accident took place in front of PIDC building. People surrounded the car which was later brought to a police station for investigation and the foreign woman travelled back to the consulate in another vehicle.
. The Aam Pakis are "mighty upset" about the so-called reckless car driving of the Amreekis , where Pakis become collateral damage
DIG South Javed Odho said the injured bike rider has been identified as a Pakistan Navy employee, who was whisked to the hospital for medical treatment.
On April 7 this year, another US diplomat Colonel Joseph ran a red light and rammed into a motorcycle killing a Pakistani civilian. He was let go by police officials after the accident as he allegedly had diplomatic immunity from criminal prosecution. The court said that the embassy official did not have complete immunity, and had sought a reply from the Interior Ministry to place him on the Exit Control List, however he was later flown out of the country.
In the Joseph case, the Pakis "demanded" and "got" Sharia Justice at last, ie blood monies had to be paid by US Govt, before Joseph was allowed to flee from this accursed country . During the first time, he was "not allowed" to embark on the plane, and went back to Embassy , as the blood monies was not deposited into the Bank Account Of Goberment Of Pakistan at that time. Talk about petty harassment

CII drafting new women friendly comprehensive nikahnama
Oct 16, 2018
ISLAMABAD – The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) is preparing a draft of a new comprehensive nikahnama (marriage contract) and talaqnama (divorce paper) to ensure the due rights of women.
CII Chairman Dr. Qibla Ayaz expressed that the existing nikahnama drafted in the 60s had become obsolete, adding that the trends were changing now.A need was felt for drafting a new nikahnama and talaqnama which include certain clauses for addressing emerging issues and the research wing of CII has been directed in this regard, he said.
Talk about "gender equality ! Out of almost 25 members there is ony ONE Islami Female !
The new draft of nikahnama would include a provision for the bride to dissolve the marriage, he asaid adding that this provision did exist in the present nikahnama, but it was not clear and most nikahkhwans deleted this provision and deprived a woman of her due rights.
Wow. ! Open fraud !
The CII chief further said the members of council along with other stakeholders will try to make this provision more obvious and shall suggest some restriction on it so that nikahkhawn are not able to delete it without the consent of the bride-to-be.Earlier, Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Dr Qibla Ayaz said that the authority supports the decision of deeming triple talaq in one sitting as punishable.Dr Ayaz while addressing media after a CII session said that saying three times ‘divorce’ at the same time was punishable act and penalty regarding this would be discussed with religious scholars.
When are they expecting to appoint a second female member . The CII was established in 1962

So, coincidentally (what are the chances?) it turns out that the "injured" man was an employee of the navy, riding a motorcycle with no "pissingers" (although they are supposed to travel in navy buses as a rule) and, in a nation of dismal health care services where the injured are left dying on the streets, was "promptly whisked" away for "treatment". 14 Iran security personnel 'kidnapped' near border: reports
Fourteen Iranian security personnel, including Revolutionary Guards intelligence officers, were allegedly abducted near the Pak-Iran border on Tuesday, Iranian state media reported.
Of the 14, two were members of the elite Revolutionary Guards intelligence unit, and seven were volunteers in the Basij militia involved in “a security operation”.
The reports did not name a specific group as a suspect in the abduction.
Lets guess the name of this "specific group".

‘Rising cost of materials to hurt govt’s housing plan’
Cement and steel prices have surged throughout the country following the prime minister’s announcement to build five million houses under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP), said builders on Monday.
We see soaring steel bar and cement bag prices as a threat to NPHP initiated by Prime Minister Imran Khan
Few powerful business houses have planned to sabotage prime minister’s low-cost housing programme. These manufacturers act as a cartel to play havoc with prices
State Bank of Pakistan is carving out a financing model whereby it will lend 50pc of the total house cost to commercial banks at 1pc markup and commercial banks would provide the funds to allottees at 4-5pc rate and another 20pc would be borne by allottees.
Hmmm...somehow the math does not add up. Where's the remaining 30% of the project cost being funded?

Now Is Punjab going bankrupt? - Hasaan Khawar

Punjab’s finance minister recently revealed that the province is nearly bankrupt. Punjab has accumulated a total debt of Rs1.1 trillion, exhausted its Provident Fund of Rs100 billion that rightfully belongs to government employees, fully used its borrowing line of Rs37 billion and reportedly issued cheques worth Rs57 billion in the last financial year that could not be honoured.

After the 7th NFC Award, federal transfers to Punjab almost quadrupled in the last 10 years from Rs300+ billion to nearly Rs1.2 trillion. How did then Punjab manage to reach this point, despite this significant increase in resources?

There are three patterns that define fiscal management in the last five years.

Firstly, after the 7th NFC Award, provinces were flush with money but had little capacity to spend. As a result, almost all provincial governments started having cash surpluses. The then chief minister of Punjab was quick to realise this opportunity and adopted a new model to put this money to use. Scores of Section 42 companies undertook mega projects in energy, roads, municipal services and mass transit. The model was so effective in utilising funds that soon its appetite for resources far outstripped the resource inflow. The annual development programme that was merely Rs150 billion 10 years ago, grew more than four times to a whopping Rs635 billion by 2017-18. Much of this increase was financed by stretching all possible sources and diverting all funds towards priority projects.

The last government’s infrastructure-led strategy overshadowed almost all other aspects of development. Looking at the last five years’ development allocations for education, health, sports, environment and infrastructure, it becomes clear that 66% of allocations went to infrastructure as opposed to 19 and 13% for education and health, respectively. Higher budget utilisation further enhanced its share to almost 70%.

The second pattern was ballooning of commercial debt owing to large-scale commodity operations, riddled with corruption and leakages, to finance inefficient wheat subsidies. Debt for commodity operations grew from almost nothing to Rs446 billion in 2017-18. A research paper by Ahsan Rana shows that last year, the bank mark-up alone accounted for more than 70% of the cost of wheat procurement in Punjab with almost no benefit directly passed on to small farmers.

The third pattern is the tremendous growth in public spending, outpacing GDP growth. Government spending grew by 15% while the development spending grew by 25% every year, during the last five years, as opposed to average GDP growth of 4-5%. Expenditure on pensions rose by 23% a year since 2013. Ironically this growth does not reflect the impact of 460,000 employees who were regularised at the very end of the last government’s tenure.

These figures depict an expansionary fiscal policy, whose effects are going to last much longer. Increases in recurrent spending are hard to reverse, whereas development spending is likely to create new recurrent costs and a permanent drag on the budget for future years. Such drag could come in the form of subsidies for mass transit projects, interest payments and salaries and maintenance costs for new facilities.

These issues all put together have created immediate financial distress for the provincial government. And with the IMF looking for a possible reduction in provincial share in the NFC, the challenge can get compounded, with hardly any money left for new development.

With a modest budget, the provincial government may possibly avert this crisis. But a course correction is in order to keep a check on government’s size, re-prioritising Punjab’s resource allocation, doing away with commodity operations and mobilising private financing for infrastructure through public-private partnerships. Most importantly, if the government wants to move away from the model of mega projects, it should start investing in local governments’ capacity to use them as vehicles for local spending.

Slightly out of topic but, in today's news, Infosys net profit rises 10.3% to Rs 4,110 crore in Q2. US$58 Billion! Net profit of Infosys is more than the total capitalization of the PSX.

About blasphemy...

If we were to paint some Koranic verses on our bunkers on our side of the LoC, would the Paki foot soldiers have the ba!!s to fire on them and incur the wrath of allah/mullah? If our bunkers were attacked and the lettering destroyed, could we ask the Pakfauj to hand over the perpetrators of the crime to our criminal justice system so we can hang them? Could we fire back at them to avenge said blasphemy? Or could we document the actions and upload the video so these fellows could face sharia justice in their own country? So many questions...

Why Pakistan will go to the IMF again, and again and again - Shahrukh Wani
Pakistan’s formula for economic growth is as flawed as it gets: borrow foreign currency-denominated loans, build some large-scale infrastructure, get a minor growth spurt in the process, and wait until this growth spurt fades so we can repeat the process again.

Now It Is Japan's Time To Be Begged From

Japan wants to hold government-level dialogue for enhancing trade in December
Pakistan Today
Oct 16, 2018
KARACHI: Pakistan and Japan are set to conduct a government-level dialogue in December to enhance bilateral trade and attract investments in the country, officials said on Monday. Trade between Pakistan and Japan which presently stands at a touch over $2 billion and a government official who declined to be named  shared the latter wanted to hold the next round of joint government business dialogue (JGBD) in the first week of December, reports The News.
The volume of bilateral trade between both countries stands around $2.3 billion with Pakistan exports standing at a paltry $250 million against Japan’s $2.03 billion.
Not sure if there anything that the Japs can buy from the Pakis . Japan has a very very strict policy, when it comes to importing any "labour", specially from holders of the Green Passport. Any "erection" of masjids and mosques is a no -go there ! And then there is the problem of "halaal food" as well !
And the official shared a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda) and a forthcoming exhibition SME Support Japan is also on the list for the next round of talks.
The official added, “SME Support Japan has also offered Embassy of Pakistan a booth free of cost ( This is as far as the poker faced Japs will go !) where Smeda can promote SMEs of Pakistan.”
PS: And the Japanese are supposed to be 0.50 of the 3.50 forefathers of Pakiland (full members Cheen, Saudia and Massa !)

By-polls results raise alarm bells for Buzdar govt

LAHORE: The by-poll results in Punjab have raised alarm bells for the ruling coalition which can’t afford even a slight revolt in its cadres while keeping in view the current number game in Punjab Assembly.

PTI suffers big electoral upset in Punjab

Any revolt in ranks of the Punjab coalition could put the government of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar literally on ventilator in case any no-confidence vote is sought and survival of his government now lies purely on the PML-Q, the party with only 10 seats in the House of 371.

The PML-Q, despite having a very marginal representation in the House, has attained the most significant position in Punjab Assembly and it holds the key to the future of present PTI government which has suffered a setback in the by-polls held on October 14.

The PTI, a party which had a strength of 176 MPAs in PA before the October 14 by-polls, could win only three more seats in form of PP-201, Sahiwal, PP-261, Rahimyar Khan and PP-272, Dera Ghazi Khan whereas it lost others at the hands of the PML-N or independents, including those which it won in July 25 general elections, including PP-3, PP-27, PP-222 and PP-292.

In order to attain the required strength of 186 to form government in Punjab, PTI, with 179 seats now has to rely mainly on the PML-Q which has 10 seats followed by one of Rah-e-Haq Party and two independents like Ahmed Ali Aulakh and Jugnoo Mohsin - "Wife of Najam Aziz Sethi and Publisher of the Friday Times Lahore" - who haven’t joined any party.

Two independent MPAs, including Bilal Warraich and Awais Khan have won from TT Singh and Multan respectively while defeating PTI candidates and Tehreek-e-Insaf needs their support too to save itself to counter any critical situation.

The PML-N, a party which had 162 MPAs in the House before the October 14 by-elections, had won six more seats and if one seat of Khawaja Saad Rafique, who will now take oath as MNA, is excluded, the individual strength of the PML-N stands at 167. In this way, a party with 168 votes and additional support of PPP with seven MPAs reach a figure of 175. In case the PML-N, whose leadership has good relationship with independent MPAs like Ahmed Ali Aulakh and Jugnoo Mohsin as well as Awais Khan of Multan, who has won with the backing of Nawaz League and defeated the brother of Qasim Noon, the PML-N strength will reach 178, which means it just needs a support of eight more MPAs. Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, who has been elected as independent candidate and he is yet to take oath and both PTI as well as PML-N needs his support now. Rah-e-Haq Party MPA, Muawya Azam Tariq, who is son of renowned religious figure late Azam Tariq, also has good relationship with the PML-N leadership is wooed, with his support and the support of Ch Nisar, the PML-N will reach the figure of 180. Nevertheless, the PML-Q has a pivotal role at the moment in Punjab Assembly and following the by-poll results, speculations are also on the rise in the PTI circles over a possible ‘greater role’ for Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. Some of the ruling party members even believe that a Balochistan Assembly like in House change, when its Speaker Qudoos Bazinjo became the CM couldn’t be ruled out but most of the members think that the government would complete its term and Usman Buzdar will continue to serve as CM as pledged by Imran.

Imran Khan, the Prime Minister in a press conference in Lahore last week had made it clear that there would be no change in Punjab Assembly and Buzdar would continue to serve as the CM as long as PTI is in power.

In every which way, PTI has a testing time in Punjab and in order to protect its government, it has to go extra mile to keep its allies happy. Cabinet expansion in next few days can’t be ruled out, believe some of the leaders.

Solid Example Of Women's Empowerment In Pakiland

The female car mechanic driving change in patriarchal Pakistan
AFP
The News International
Oct 16, 2018

One of those "feel good" farticles which project a "softer image" of Pakiland . For the benefit of foreign viewers and readers . Desperately needed in the new times of NAYA PAKISTAN . When Pakistan is making every effort to avoid the dreaded BLACK LIST of FATF
MULTAN: Since picking up a wrench as one of the first female car mechanics in conservative Pakistan, Uzma Nawaz has faced two common reactions: shock and surprise. And then a bit of respect. The 24-year-old spent years overcoming entrenched gender stereotypes and financial hurdles en route to earning a mechanical engineering degree and netting a job with an auto repairs garage in the eastern city of Multan.

Good for the business owner as well . Word will spread like wild fire that a Paki Ayesha is doubling as a car mechanic at a local garage. If she is not married (or not already betrothed to her first or second cousin ) , she may receive some "good" proposals from the curious Abduls who will come their to "repair" their cars . When "business" improves, she may get a promotion as well

After Concluding A Massive Arms Deal With India, Russia Obliges Pakistan With A Military Drill in The Town Of Pabbi, In The Province Of KP . Not Sure If Putin Is Coming To View The Drill Though

Pakistan, Russia to hold military drills in Pabbi
The News International

ROSTOV-ON-DON: Russian-Pakistani military drills "Friendship 2018" will be held in the mountains of Pakistan from October 21 until November 4, head of the Russian Southern Military District Vadim Astafyev told reporters on Tuesday.
Pakistan has been trying very hard to "sleep with Russia" , now that it has cooled off relationship with Massa . Remains to be seen if something comes out of this "date" at Pabbi
