Iranis Use "Non-Diplomatic Language" Against "Ummah Brother" Pakistan

Iran asks Pakistan to confront militants that kidnapped Iranian guards - state TV
Reuters
Bozorgmehr Sharafedin
LONDON (Reuters) - Iran’s Revolutionary Guards asked Pakistan to tackle militants who kidnapped 14 Iranian security forces on Tuesday on their shared border.“We expect Pakistan to confront these terrorist groups that are supported by some regional states, and immediately release the kidnapped Iranian forces,” the Revolutionary Guards said in a statement carried on state television .
The Revolutionary Guards are a battle hardened tough bunch . No more diplomatic niceties for the conniving Pakis and their Deep State . Yesterday's diplomatic exchange between the Iranian and Paki Foreign office was all soft talk. Wonder, what the Iranis will do, if these particular "miscreants" are not taken care of ASAP by the Paki State

Paki Editorial Blasts PTI Govt For "CPEC Secrecy" . Either It Is Bound By A Secrecy Clause Of " Not To Disclose ". Or It Does Not Have The Necessary Expertise To Understand The CPEC Agreements

Editorial: PTI govt has no reason to keep CPEC shrouded in secrecy

Oct 17, 2018
THE public endorsement - Chinese Support For IMF Loan - is likely a result of a great deal of behind-the-scenes lobbying.
It is welcome that China, via its foreign ministry spokesperson, has announced its support for the IMF “making an objective evaluation of Pakistan based on professionalism and earnestly helping it properly address the current difficulty”.
For Pakistan, walking a familiar IMF tightrope has been significantly complicated by the increasing competition and hostility between China and the US on the global stage and in this region. The US, which at least until the Trump administration touted its adherence to a so-called rules-based world order, had initially come out in an almost ugly American fashion against CPEC, virtually demanding that Pakistan limit the scope of the project if the IMF is to be allowed to deliver a bailout package to Pakistan.
At least publicly, the hostile and threatening US rhetoric has been toned down in recent days and it is, instead, the IMF leadership that has underlined the need for greater Pakistani transparency on its CPEC-related financial commitments.
What is not known is the extent to which China is resisting Pakistan sharing CPEC data with the IMF or, indeed, if there are binding covenants that prevent Pakistan from making public such data.
The Agreements were ramroded through the Paki N.A. without any discussion under Ganja Govt !
Worryingly, the PTI federal government may not have the expertise or the clarity necessary for navigating such fraught international political and financial challenges — though arguably no other Pakistani government would be considered well placed to deal with such complex challenges either.
"Respected" Dawn is challenging the competency of the Paki bureaucrats and the Paki politicos ( Imran is of course an Oxford "graduate" in Economics, Philosophy And Politics  )
At a minimum, however, the federal government ought to use the imminent IMF bailout as an opportunity to draw some new lines in this country’s fiscal dealings with the outside world and transparency at home. The US hostility towards and seemingly the IMF’s scepticism of CPEC aside, there is no plausible reason for the PTI to continue with the excessive secrecy that characterised the PML-N’s approach to CPEC.
It could well be embarrassment to the unfavorable terms negotiated and the political fallout from that IMO !
If binding commitments have been made regarding the secrecy of certain contracts and they can be justified in light of international best practices, the PTI government should publicly say so. If not, why is the PTI seemingly reluctant to place before parliament and other appropriate forums the full scale of Pakistan’s debt and financial exposure to China?
The gamechanger, CPEC is not a gamechanger after all
An autonomous and empowered State Bank that has access to the full range of financial data is not only necessary for a well-managed economy, it could also help protect the public’s interest when IFIs and global powers squabble among themselves and heap pressure on Pakistan.Whatever Washington’s motives, the IMF’s incentives and China’s fears may be, surely the Pakistani public deserves to know the full picture of the state’s financial liabilities, external and domestic.

PM Imran Khan to attend Saudi investment summit next week
Oct 18, 2018

While the rest of the business world ( Microsoft, Google, Goldman Sachs and others !) is boycotting the so -called Saudi Investment Summit in the light of the brutal murder of WAPO Jamal Kashoggi by MBS and his gang ( Raheel's hand cannot be ruled out IMO ! ), Imran is "obliging" the Saudis and stepping into the void . Just to salvage the H&D of the Saudis and score some Brownie Points in the process From The Head Of The Two Holy Mosque . Not sure, what the Pakis are going to offer Saudia . Maybe, the quid pro quo is that they may fund Pakiland and step into the IMF shoes.

Falijee Ji :

The Iran - Terroristan - India Pipeline Idea evaporated in Thin Air when Mani Shankar Iyer - of the Terroristani Ishtiqlal and Ishtiqbal possibly the other way round, as well Continuous and Continuously Interruptible and Interruptedly with India concluded a Iran -Terroristan - India Natural Gas Deal at as far as I can remember at about US$ 3.50 per MMBTU on a SUBJECT TO IRANIAN PARLIAMENTARY APPROVAL WITHOUT ANY TIME LIMITATION. The Maximum period - in my experience in INTERNATIONAL TRADING is within Two Days i.e. 48 Hours.

The International Natural Gas started creeping up and the Iranian Parliament started asking for an increase in the Price. Eventually the Iranian Parliament denied Approval.

Now the Iranians are negotiating with the Indian Urea Manufacturers to set up a Plant or Two with Natural Gas at US$ 2.50 per MMBTU!

Note : Iran does a lot of trade and even, I believe, a contract for Supply and Fitting Storage Batteries for their Submarines was being negotiated. I havn't heard much about the outcome but certain quarters say that the Deal has been Concluded.

The Iran Government and the Indian Government concluded the Contract on a Timely Approval of subjects.

May be SSridhar Ji might be able to give some insight on the "Natural Gas" Episode!

Pakistan biggest importer of Chinese arms: report - Rahima Sohail
Pakistan accounts for 42 per cent of China’s total arms sales over 2000-14, a report by RAND revealed recently. At the Dawn of Belt and Road: China in the Developing World examines the country’s economic, political and military activities across the Global South.
Since the beginning of the 21st century, China has been a key supplier of major conventional weapons to South Asian countries especially Pakistan and Bangladesh. Sales to both amount for over half of total Chinese total arms sales over 2000-14. Bangladesh amounts for 11 per cent of the sales, making China the world’s third-largest arms exporter.
Probably the most notable Chinese sale to South Asia was the sale of JF-17 fighters to Pakistan followed by an agreement to build the jets in Pakistan under a joint venture: the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex/Chengdu Aerospace Corporation.
Strong China-India economic ties relations, however, continue to hold steady. India is China’s largest trading partner in the region and is both, its largest source of imports and export destination.
“China’s two-way trade with India now dwarfs that with Pakistan. Between 2000 and 2013, Sino-Indian two-way trade jumped 22-fold to $65 billion. In contrast, Sino-Pakistani two-way trade has increased very slowly over the same period, to reach a modest $14 billion in 2013.
Soft power Beyond economic and military hard power, China has also expanded its soft power reach. It has established eight Confucius Institutes across six countries in South Asia. India and Pakistan have two each. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka each boast a single.

Trouble ahead!

Weak replies annoy FATF team
After two weeks of meetings and deliberations with the Pakistani officials, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) team visiting Pakistan is all set to submit a non-compliance report on the basis of wide gaps in the implementation of FATF recommendations.
The gaps particularly relate to those recommendations which deal with the anti-money laundering (AML), regulation of non-profits organisations (NPOs) and financial monitoring units (FMUs), The News has learnt.
The report will be shared with the Pakistani authorities on Friday
highly disturbed after finding the FATF team “not happy with the answers submitted by different departments”.
The meetings with the visiting delegation were described by the officials as so tense that at one stage the FATF delegates literally became agitated exhibiting a behavior of annoyance
The FATF continuously expressed its dissatisfaction with replies submitted by different departments
a sticking point for the team was the question as to why most of criminal cases of law enforcing agencies related to AML in Pakistan did not stand the test of trial in the courts.
A classified report prepared by different Pakistani departments has already warned the high ups about the outcome of FATF meetings.
The report pointed out another area of weakness saying, “despite provision of law, our progress on both extradition from non-treaty countries and mutual legal assistance treaties with states on need basis remained abysmally low. This would be interpreted as official ‘lack of will’.
It suggest FMU has to be strengthened and erected on modern ground, The SBP has to ensure that no suspicious transaction unreported and non-compliant commercial banks which hide such transaction are penalized and coordination in between FMU and LEAs should be quick, fast and efficient.
Further that the quality of STR has to be improved dramatically.
The FIA, NAB and police departments have to come up with successful seizures and convictions that stand in the court. Nothing short of conviction be reported to the government.
No wonder I'm the Dim will not go to IMF for the fear that the loan will not be approved. It seems the paki goose is about to be cooked.

Pakis spinning bad news...

Experts suggest steps for removing Pakistan from FATF grey list
A nine-member delegation of global experts on Thursday finalised a report envisaging a string of measures for de-listing Pakistan from the grey list of countries from September 2019.
A source privy to meetings told Dawn that the report which is termed ‘Exit Report’ will be submitted formally to the government on Friday, which is the last day of the global experts’ stay in Pakistan.
The report includes 40 recommendations which were segregated in 11 outcomes performance benchmarks.
According to the source, Pakistan is compliant in more than 50 per cent of the recommendations. However, the source said it was not clear whether it would be sufficient for Pakistan to come out of the grey list.

SBP lowers ‘ambitious’ GDP growth target to 4.7-5.2%
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) while terming the real GDP growth target of 6.2 per cent for fiscal year 2108-19 (FY19) ambitious has projected that the real GDP growth of Pakistan in the ongoing fiscal will stay around 4.7 to 5.2 per cent.
SBP stated that the recent policy measures and developments including monetary tightening, exchange rate depreciation and changes in import and custom duties are all likely to dampen domestic demand, especially the imports.
The report said industrial sector, in particular, may witness a slowdown due to an expected reduction in consumer demand. “Construction-allied and consumer durable industries may see slower growth in production.
lower sugar production on account of expected decline in sugarcane crop may also dampen the food group’s contribution to LSM growth
water shortages at the time of sowing of kharif crops, especially cotton, and weak trends in the off-take of fertilizer indicate that agriculture sector may not repeat last year’s extraordinary performance
growth in agriculture may fall below the target as well as the last year’s level of 3.8 per cent.
SBP projected that current account deficit will be in the range of 5 to 6 percent of GDP for FY19.
The reduction in development spending and austerity measures are likely to relatively slower the growth in overall fiscal spending
underlying inflationary pressures may persist
Increase in gas tariffs, import duties and excise duty would further add to inflation both directly and indirectly
average inflation is projected in the range of 6.5 to 7.5 percent during FY19, against 3.9 percent recorded in FY18 and 6.0 percent target for the year

a sticking point for the team was the question as to why most of criminal cases of law enforcing agencies related to AML in Pakistan did not stand the test of trial in the courts.
No Paki would ever answer that question. The question is at best rhetorical because the answer is known to everyone. Everyone from top to bottom in Pakistan is involved in money laundering both for personal and terrorism purposes. The prosecuting agencies are therefore unwilling to present a water-tight case in a court of law. The Pakistani courts themselves are jihadi-pasand anyway and their judges are equally corrupt that they are also not willing to try such cases with any seriousness.
The report pointed out another area of weakness saying, “despite provision of law, our progress on both extradition from non-treaty countries and mutual legal assistance treaties with states on need basis remained abysmally low. This would be interpreted as official ‘lack of will’.
The SAARC passed the MLAT (Mutual Legal Assistance Agreement) way back, a decade or more back. Even then, Pakistan dithered a lot but circumstances (US presence in Af-Pak) forced it to accede. But, Pakistan has steadfastly refused to sign the mutual agreement with us, for example, because it knows that would complicate the matters for themselves with all terrorism coming from there and the state-sponsoring them all.

Essentially, FATF must conclude that being Terroristan, that country has no intention to abide by all the demands and that the review exercise is futile and time is well past for that country to be in the Black List.

Indeed. That is why I describe them as the Judicial Jihadi B Team of the Uniformed Jihadis of the Army of the Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan who if not for anything else, have well earned the Jihadi title by adopting the motto" Iman, Taqwa, Jihad -fi- Sabilillah" or translated “Faith, Piety and Jihad In The Way of Allah”.

Pakis Get Tough At So-Called "NGO Spies"

Aid to 11 million at risk as Pakistani intelligence gives 18 charities and NGOs their marching orders
Daily Telegraph
Ben Farmer
Oct 18, 2018
Pakistan risks losing at least £100 million worth of aid by kicking out a group of UK charities and international development organisations, it has been claimed.Eighteen foreign non-governmental organisations (NGOs) were told earlier this month that they had 60 days to wind up operations after being denied official registration.
The organisations, including UK-based charities Plan International and International Alert, were given no official reason for the interior ministry ban. However it is thought Imran Khan's government made the decision under pressure from Pakistan's powerful military spy agency ( as recommended by 5th Generation Warfare Specialist Jahil HamEid in his report to COAS !) which has accused foreign aid organisations of being a front for espionage.
Previous expulsion notices have accused organisations of “pursuing an anti-state agenda”.
Diplomats are understood to be trying to persuade Islamabad to reverse the ban, with the British government describing the evicted organisations as “important partners for the UK”. The aid groups deny wrongdoing and say their programmes are carrying out vital work that helps Pakistan's government and people.
And also do some "spying" on the side
An assessment of the ban's impact drawn up by aid groups and seen by the Telegraph estimates the expulsion will deprive Pakistan of at least £100m of aid programmes and halt projects helping up to 11 million people. Between them, the expelled organisations also directly employ more than 1,100 staff in Pakistan.
Slowly and surely Pakiland is going the Iran way. At least they have oil ; Pakis have only Islami Zeal !
The aid organisations are trying to win a reprieve, but have only been told they can reapply in six months. A source familiar with the negotiations said there appeared to be no pattern to the evictions. Both religious and secular organisations have been targeted, from several different countries. The aid groups are carrying out work ranging from emergency relief to tackling mental health, child labour, governance and agriculture.
For lack of money, the Pakis have essentially "outsourced" important social sector functions. Now they are accusing the Organizations of "spying" . Beggars cannot be choosers
Pakistan has hardened its stance on foreign aid and advocacy organisations and in 2015 asked them to re-register so they could better be monitored.

FATF Inspection Team Did Not Accept Paki Whitewash

Weak replies annoy FATF team
The News International
Oct 19, 2018
ISLAMABAD: After two weeks of meetings and deliberations with the Pakistani officials, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) team visiting Pakistan is all set to submit a non-compliance report on the basis of wide gaps in the implementation of FATF recommendations.
The gaps particularly relate to those recommendations which deal with the anti-money laundering (AML), regulation of non-profits organisations (NPOs) and financial monitoring units (FMUs), The News has learnt.
Can anyone seriously expect Pakistan to implement these measures . That would mean the end of their so called Jihad in Kashmir, and their alliance with D Gang , among other many things .
The report will be shared with the Pakistani authorities on Friday (today) as per background interviews with officials who have been part of the two-week meetings and feel highly disturbed after finding the FATF team “not happy with the answers submitted by different departments”.
Pakistan is going to join the Black List pretty soon
“The FATF continuously expressed its dissatisfaction with replies submitted by different departments, especially the FIA, NAB, FBR, FMU and SECP,” he informed The News.
A classified report prepared by different Pakistani departments has already warned the high ups about the outcome of FATF meetings. “The situation is not satisfactory” says the report likely to be sent to prime minister suggesting some quick steps in certain areas.
The PM , even if he wanted to, is helpless !
The classified report also suggested some recommendations which include improvement things on Pakistan’s part. It suggest FMU has to be strengthened and erected on modern ground, The SBP has to ensure that no suspicious transaction unreported and non-compliant commercial banks which hide such transaction are penalized and coordination in between FMU and LEAs should be quick, fast and efficient.
The FIA, NAB and police departments have to come up with successful seizures and convictions that stand in the court. Nothing short of conviction be reported to the government. The report emphasized that interagency coordination has to be made the corner-stone of AML and CTF effort. :((
All this is bakwaas, as far as FATF is concerned !

FDI dips 42pc as Chinese investment declines

DAWN
Oct 19 , 2018
KARACHI: Foreign direct investment (FDI) declined by 42 per cent during the first quarter of current fiscal year compared to the same period last year falling short of even half billion mark.
Central bank’s data revealed that FDI during July-September FY19 clocked in at $439.5 million compared to $765m last year. Pakistan desperately requires foreign exchange inflows to cap the rising current account deficit.
The decline in inflows comes at a time when Pakistan’s depleting foreign exchange reserves have already fallen to alarmingly low levels at $14.6 billion including State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) $8.089bn providing enough only for two months of import cover. The government has officially approached the International Monetary Fund to borrow $12bn to meet the growing foreign exchange requirements.
Not so now !
The overall FPI during the quarter declined by 63pc reaching $254m compared to inflows of $687m in the first quarter of last fiscal year. In tandem with last few quarters, China led the list of countries pouring investment into Pakistan. The Asian giant made up for 64pc of the total FDI during the quarter contributing $281m. However, in comparison with the same period last fiscal year, China’s investments in the country dipped by 43pc during the period under review.
Following China, United Kingdom contributed $51m, US $25m and Switzerland $39.6m.The present government has announced its plan to develop investment friendly policies to attract foreign investments while it also ensured to reduce cost of doing business in Pakistan.

Human development first - Faisal Bari

PAKISTAN’S ranking on the Human Development Index (HDI) in 2018, based on 2017 data, is 150th out of 189 countries. India (130th), Bangladesh (136th) and Nepal (149th) are ahead of us. Sri Lanka, ranked 76th, is the star performer of the region.

These are tough times but even when we have had periods of high economic growth our gains on the human development side have been modest. High growth did give us rising incomes and significant reductions in poverty during some periods, but it did not translate into significant changes in health and educational outcomes for most people in the country.

We also do very poorly in terms of the Human Capital Index that has recently been launched by the World Bank. Pakistan falls in the bottom quartile of countries. India is in the second quartile and Sri Lanka in the third. The HCI is slightly different from the HDI. It focuses a bit more on variables that try to capture the human capital aspect. For example, where HDI focuses on expected years of schooling, the HCI also takes into account learning during that period and tries to get to learning-adjusted ‘years of schooling’. This gives a better idea of what ‘capital’ a person would actually have in terms of learning and knowledge at the end of their schooling experience.

The HDI and HCI ranking of Pakistan tell us two stories. One, we have not invested in our people. And this is true despite the fact that we have had many decades of healthy economic growth as well. Two, even when we have invested in our people, the quality of those investments have been poor. If we have invested in education, we have focused a lot more on access and have not worried a whole lot about quality. The difference in years of schooling and learning-adjusted years of schooling for Pakistan is quite large. This conclusion has not come out in the recent human capital index alone; it was there in the last World Development Report as well.

The low achievement on the health and education fronts should be very worrying for Pakistan. If our development is not making the lives of our citizens better, what is the argument for development or growth for? Economic growth is not an end in itself; it is important because it allows people to have better lives. Human development is the goal here.

We have a large and young population. If they are not educated and healthy, how can the country even contemplate managing and/ or maintaining high growth rates? Interestingly, though household-level data in Pakistan shows that we have made significant strides over the last two to three decades in reducing poverty, the correlates of poverty have not moved in the same direction or as much. Infant health and mortality, maternal health and mortality, child stunting and wasting numbers show very slow improvement, stagnation or even reversals in certain areas. Some explanation for this puzzle must come from the quality angle that has been mentioned here.

Every government of the past, for the last three or so decades at least, has said that human development was a top priority for them. Our outcomes do not show that this could have been the case. Were these governments not able to make and implement policies to reflect their priorities? The meagre resources that we spend on education and health as a percentage of GDP give us a good idea of actual prioritisation. We have been ‘promising’ to raise education spending to four per cent of GDP for decades now but it is still stuck at around 2pc to 2.5pc.

Part of the explanation comes from the model of development that almost all these governments have been using to think about development. Economic growth, measured through GDP growth, is central to this model of development. Economic growth comes automatically through markets or some process of trickle-down, and is supposed to take care of human development. Employment, jobs, education and health outcomes, social welfare and protection from vulnerability are not candidates for primary goals.

The Economic Survey, published by the government every year just before the annual budget, is the key government document that talks about its achievements and the state of the economy. The layout of the Economic Survey is very telling. The first chapter is on growth and investment. The next few chapters look at sectoral growth and performance. Education, health and nutrition and employment are addressed in chapters 10, 11 and 12. The ‘top priorities’ of the government do not even merit early mention. Inequality does not even merit a chapter. The performance of the government is clearly judged in terms of growth alone.

It is not just the fact that human development outcomes are not the primary goal, they have not even been important goals. Governments here do not judge their performance by human development outcomes, they do not set their targets in human development terms and the economic development model they think through does not recognise human development as the end-goal. They do not even recognise the instrumental importance of human development for their cherished goal of economic growth. There has been a lot of debate on China’s investments in Pakistan recently. Has human development figured in any of these debates? Most of the latter have been on issues of economic growth, infrastructure development and investments. Jobs have figured sometimes, but only as a peripheral concern.

The PTI has, over the last many years, consistently criticised the PML-N government for its emphasis on growth, investment and infrastructure development as opposed to investments in human capital. They are in power now. It will be interesting to see if they will be able to make human development their top priority.

Pakis are already on it. Their slightly taller but less sweater friend has offered them a "supersonic" missile system which is "better" than Brahmos. Take this link for what its worth (it's gobar slimes).

https://www.thenews.com.pk/latest/38201 ... obal-times
In the "protest" against S400 it says
Indian rejection of this proposal forced Pakistan to develop capabilities which render any BMD system ineffective and unreliable.
If S400 is "ineffective and unreliable", why "strongly protest"?

^The above confirms that the Chinis have supplied MIRV and that is the capability that Pakistan claims to render S-400 or our AAD as 'ineffective & unreliable'.

Pakistan will always claim Indian systems are ineffective irrespective of reality. While MIRV make the job of a BMD system more difficult by attacking more targets with the same missile they don't make a BMD system "ineffective ". And S 400 is more for CM and long range targetting of enemy aircraft, PDV and AAD is for BMD .

Pakistan and China will stop if we restrict ourselves, they will acquire the best weapons irrespective of what we do. A better capability for India only deters them from attacking.

Pakis are just looking out for India and trying to be helpful by saving India some money which could be better used to build more dams.

Stop the press. It's not a done deal yet with the ammah's first brother, al saud. Note the qualifier (two visits to the ammah in two years).

Pakistan still awaiting decision by Saudi govt on exemption of Umrah tax: Religious affairs ministry
The Ministry of Religious Affairs on Friday issued a statement of clarification regarding an exemption from additional tax for Pakistanis performing more than one Umrah within two years, saying that a reply from the Saudi government in this regard was still awaited.
Saudi government had imposed a tax of 2,000 riyals on any individual, from any country, who visited the kingdom more than once in two years to perform an Umrah.
“The prime minister during his visit to Saudi kingdom took up the matter with the Saudi crown prince and assurance was provided that the matter would be taken into consideration
So, it wasnt a blanket write off and the saudis have not accepted the pleas from I'm the dim. Why would only the pakis get this "break" and not the other 55 ammah's brothers?

That's embarrassing. Pakis can stop dancing in the streets.

That Umrah tax is only for the rich - those who do the Umrah more than once in two years. I am sure most pakis do it once in a life time, if that. So why is Immy the dimmy batting for those 1%? Did peerni order it?

MBS has more important matter to deal with, ( his "job" is on the line now since fingers are being pointed to him in the Kashoggi "affair" ) than the trifle matter of exemption of tax for Ummah Bro Pakiland . This belongs to the "back burner" now ! And so also Paki request for Saudi Moolahs. Saudis will take their own "sweet time" on Paki "Requests" . Will make them sweat

The Foreign Minister Of Pakistan Approaches The Iraqi Ambassador For Visa Relaxation

FM Qureshi raises visa issues of Pakistani Zaireen with Iraqi Ambassador
Oct 19, 2018
SLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday met the Ambassador of Iraq, Dr. Ali Yassin Mohammed Karim at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and raised with him the issues faced by Pakistani Zaireen in obtaining Iraqi visas for Arbaeen.
While appreciating the Iraqi government’s efforts in facilitating rising number of Zaireen from Pakistan, the foreign minister expressed concern over the reports of a large number of Pakistanis still waiting for issuance of Iraqi visas while Arbaeen was only ten days away, said a statement issued by Foreign Office.
The Iraqi Govt has "every right" to scrutinize the applications, knowing that Sunni Terrorists from Pakistan are not issued visas under the guise of "pilgrims"
Highlighting the inconvenience and disappointment faced by Ziareen, the foreign minister drew attention of the Ambassador to the fact that many of them travel by road and would not be able to perform ziarat this year due to inordinate delay.
The Shias of Pakistan are caught in the middle of the proxy fight between Saudia and Iran. Pakistan, is of course in the Saudi corner, inspite of its pretensions of neutrality. Now the local Shias have become collateral damage !
He assured the Iraqi Ambassador of the full support and cooperation of the government of Pakistan in ensuring that all Zaireen retrun to Pakistan after performing Ziarat.
So, the "pilgrims" get visas and then disappear in the country ( for onward journey via Turkee to Europe !)
Dr. Ali Yassin Mohammed Karim assured the foreign minister of maximum cooperation and support of Embassy of Iraq in processing of all visa requests well within time and in a transparent manner. He also said that the backlog of visa applications for Arbaeen would be cleared within next few days, however, the applicants may ensure submission of complete applications.

Shocking ! Hijabis Facing Discrimination In Islamic Pakistan !

Woman sacked for wearing hijab in private office
Oct 19, 2018
KARACHI – A woman was asked to resign on unprofessional and unethical grounds citing the reason that her religious obligations came in the way of her performance.A Facebook post narrating the incident stated that a woman, who was recently hired at the ‘Creative Chaos as the associate talent acquisition officer, was told by her line manager that she could continue the job only if she takes off her hijab as it was spoiling company’s image.
The woman went to CEO of the Karachi-based software house to ask why they hired her in the first place if this was such a problem to which he responded that they usually do not hire such persons and it was a mistake on their behalf. The CEO of the company also asked her to apply at Al Meezan or Al Barakah because she would be better suited over there.
Wow. ! The affected Ayesha should shoot a tweet ASAP to "Human Rights" Minister Mazari . Such things happen in London, Toronto or New York , not in Krachi ! (not needed now . Happy Ending to the story ! )
The company also refused to write the reason on termination letter and warned about consequences if she took any legal action. After the Facebook post narrating the incident went viral and drew sharp criticism on social media, the company’s CEO publicly confirmed that the incident had indeed taken place, and also issued an apology.“Not only is this action disgraceful but shows extremely poor moral judgment by her hiring manager,” said a letter issued by company’s CEO.
Damage control IMO. They do not want Jamaat Islami, or a Labbaiki mobs shouting slogans in front of their Head Office in Karachi after Jumma prayers . ( Planned Demo cancelled . Happy ending now )
Your religious beliefs, political beliefs. your gender, your ethnicity and anything that you consider as part of your identity – do not matter and you should never ever be discriminated against for any of these reasons, it further stated. The fact that a hiring manager did not understand our company’s values and ethos is a failure on our part to communicate and enforce our policies effectively. I take full responsibility for this failure and am deeply ashamed that a colleague was put through distress and trauma, the letter read. The company has asked the woman to continue working with the organization and suspended the hiring manager until a transparent inquiry is conducted for further concrete actions.
Just like Imran Khan, the company also made a U Turn

Deranged Man On A Killing Spree : Man "Marries" Widow So, He Can Go After His Adopted Daughter. When Refused , He Kills Both Of Them !

Man kills wife, daughter in Sargodha

Oct 19, 2018
SARGODHA – A woman and her daughter were tortured to death and her two children were injured by her husband in Phularwan police precincts.
Police sources said on Friday that one Zafar, a resident of Phularwan area of Tehsil Bhalwal contracted marriage with a widow Asia Bibi, who had two daughters from her first husband. The accused wanted to marry her daughters off without her wife’s consent. As a result of the dispute, Asia shifted to her parents’ home.
On the day of the incident, Zafar along with his accomplices entered the house of his in-laws, tortured his wife Asia Bibi and her children, and fled the scene. Asia Bibi and Noor Fatima died on-the-spot while Ameer Bibi and 14-year-old son Ali Raza were injured seriously. The bodies and the injured were shifted to the hospital. Prime Minister Imran Khan's " Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" Housing Scheme  .

Where’s the money for Imran Khan’s ‘promised land’ of 5 million new homes?
The Print
Gul Bukhari
Oct 19, 2018
Karachi stock market has been on a roller coaster. It crashes one day and recovers to an extent the next, lurching from negative sentiment to opportunity-buying the next day, but is essentially on a downward spiral.
One would not be off the mark in saying that investors are confused and frightened by the ineptness and cluelessness of the new PTI government. There are daily negative signals of confusion and a display of vindictiveness, instead of a focus on the future.
Imran talks about corruption and nepotism is Ganja days . He has "wholesale imported" all his cronies from Bartania and appointed them advisors and ministers !
The colossal stupidity was exhibited in just one interview that the government’s newly appointed spokesperson on economy, Dr Farrukh Saleem, gave on the housing project worth $180 billion, under which five million units will be built. The response was a study in ignorance, cronyism and impending disaster.
No one actually expected Prime Minister Imran Khan to ‘launch’ this Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds housing scheme. But he did. It’s not fleshed out, there is no clear financing plan for low-cost housing for the poor. But it’s billed as a project that will kickstart and form the backbone of Pakistan’s economic future, stimulating 35-40 ancillary industrial sectors and providing millions of jobs to the country’s youth. His adviser on this scheme, Cheshire-based tycoon Aneel Mussarrat, ( does not look like a Chesire cat though  ) has been reticent on the details but ordinary Pakistanis are asking some very basic questions about Khan’s grandiose vision.
The yearly cost of this project is $36 billion, almost the same as Pakistan’s annual tax revenue (approx. $36.8 billion at the current exchange rate). The scale is so huge that if you forget about hospitals, defence expenditure, schools, roads, metros, administrative government expenditure, you’d barely manage to build the ‘promised land’ of 2,739. 7 homes per day, and even then it cannot be done.
Lahori logic and Sialkoti statistics !
But wait. Dr Farrukh Saleem tells us that the government does NOT plan to provide low-cost housing to the poor on its expense or to subsidise it in any way. The government will merely be a ‘facilitator’, the money will come from the private sector (mortgage lending by commercial banks), and the beneficiaries of the scheme will be those with an income of Pakistani rupees 100, 000 or less.
Imran Khan had said only the land will be provided by the government, but it isn’t clear if that will come at market price, or free of cost, or somewhere in between. No one knows what’s cooking or how big a scam this could turn out to be, given it’s his buddies who (the likes of Aneel Mussarat) have been entrusted with executing the scheme.Imran Khan had claimed that while mortgage financed housing was high in the West, it stood at 0.25 per cent in Pakistan, and that the new scheme will attract foreign investment of at least $20 billion. Meanwhile, it’s not even clear whether the $180 billion total cost includes the cost of the land or not.
At the end of Imran's term, Aneel will be back in Bartania , but Farrukh has nowhere to go
Meanwhile, housing wizard Mussarat said the scheme has houses under various brackets, costing $10,000, $20,000, $50,000, $75,000 and $100,000. There is no information on what discount rate will apply, the magnitude of monthly repayments, among other details. With the current discount rate at 8.5 per cent, and that is expected to rise to at least 14 per cent by the middle of next year (to avoid negative real interest rates if IMF prediction of inflation rising to 14 per cent is taken as a base), which commercial banks will lend to those with incomes of say Rs 30,000 or even Rs 100, 000 for these homes?
Even if by some magic, banks were to start lending $180 billion to a single sector and crowd out all others, they don’t actually have that kind of money in their deposits. The current total gross national savings stand at $17.19 billion (5.5 per cent of $304.95 billion). These are the simple numbers this government hasn’t crunched.
The Aam Abduls do not know all these details . Even to dream about this is OK for them !
A great critic of corrupt politicians and the in-house economic wizard of the PTI, Dr Farrukh Saleem has long been derided for coming up not only with cooked-up numbers, but also cooked-up economics. But the cringe-worthy moment came when he was massacred by TV show host Shahzeb Khanzada who asked him where the money will come from. Was the scheme realistic, given the size of the project was nearly half of the economy itself?
It is an entirely different matter that the report mentions no such thing, but the PTI government never allows facts to interfere with its plans. The adviser also added another $30 billion of corruption in government contracts that the PTI could stop, and create “extra capital” for the housing project. Gone was all talk of bank deposits, national savings, tax revenues. But the savage Khanzada politely reminded him that the $30 billion saving from ending corruption would be government money. And the government doesn’t plan to fund the project, right? He ended with: “Ye hai hukoomat ki tayyari?” The future of Pakistan under this Government-by-Claims doesn’t look pretty.
This journo with a British Passport will most likely be asked to leave the country, in the very near future, IMO . Just last year, she was manhandled by the goons of the Premiere Institution and her British Passport saved her

Imran Khan's "Medina" Is Not The Same As His PBUH Followers

Imran Khan wants to create a Medina-like Pakistan but he is no sentinel of human rights
PUKHTUNKHWA TIMES
Gul Bukhari
Oct 19, 2018
Imran Khan has promised to deliver to his citizens a Naya Pakistan based on Medina, a city founded by Prophet Muhammad in the 7th Century. Cynically manipulating the sense of prevailing deprivation and inequality, Khan offered them a grand mirage by locating the country in the golden era of a perfect Islamic society.
The Golden Age of Islam Theory plays very well in Islamic environment of Pakiland. In that sense, (playboy) Immy is no different than other Paki politico.
In his victory speech, he referred to the humanitarian and egalitarian grounds on which Medina was built and the rights given to the downtrodden, the widows, the orphans in the city.Khan invoked the traditional Islamic Hadith about the Khalifa Hazrat Umar (one of the most powerful caliphs) who had said he could not sleep easy at night even if a dog went hungry in his administered state. I immediately thought of Imran Khan’s own poor dog, who he is said to have almost run over and not given a toss about while driving home with his second wife Reham Khan.
Immy is going to regret his second marriage for the rest of his life !
Of course, the responsibility of a hungry dog was also invoked by Gen Zia ul-Haq in his post-coup speech.
So, the God Dog Hadith is very famous in Malsi ( I thought that dogs were considered unclean in The Religion of Peace  )
I also thought of the donkey his supporters painted Nawaz Sharif’s name on and tortured to death – and the lack of any statement from Imran Khan over the inhuman and cruel treatment of a helpless animal in a vile and puerile game of political scoring. Such is his detachment in reality from the notions of a kind society that he did not even think to condemn supporters of his arch-rival and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif when they shot a dog after painting Imran Khan’s name over its body.
Setting aside donkeys and dogs, Khan has never raised a voice for human rights activists and journalists abducted and tortured for dissenting against or criticising his patrons’ political meddling. He has not stammered out a defence once for the Pakistani media, which is in fetters because it is instructed to censor speeches and events of his opponents and protect Khan and his party. Khan has implicitly encouraged attacks, abuse and threats against his detractors on social media by never condemning them and he has encouraged vigilante violence on his opponents by accusing them time and again of blasphemy.
In that sense he is no different than Khadim Rizvi !
Khan speaks of Medina as a utopia, a heaven for human rights and an egalitarian society that he wants to replicate in Pakistan. If his records on these issues in the recent past are any indication of his future conduct, one shudders to think of the Medina he will create.
Some foreign NGO, were trying to "create a Medina" for the downtrodden of Pakiland, but they were told by Imran to "leave the country"
It would be too embarrassing to mention all the nominated speakers and cabinet members of the new Medina, but to name just a few: the speaker of the Punjab assembly Pervaiz Elahi is someone Imran Khan had nicknamed ‘Punjab ka sabb se bara daku’ and is now busy taking back corruption charges he filed against the man back in the day. The chief minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar has criminal records for murdering six men and getting off by paying blood money. The chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan was kicked out of the KP cabinet for corruption charges against him, proven by Imran Khan himself. Defence minister Pervez Khattak is someone who has massive cases of corruption against him.
Imran is well known for the U Turns he makes
In his widely-praised victory speech after the elections, Khan remained at pains to drive home to the audiences that he drew his inspiration for a new Pakistani state from the welfare state created by the Prophet Muhammad; that his government policies would revolve around upliftment the weak, like the labourers and farmers who do not get their due and are not able to feed their children. :((
The mention of farmers brings to mind Khan’s right-hand man for the past five years, Jahangir Tareen, a prominent actor within the sugar producers’ cartel in Pakistan. The cartel is alleged to have regularly cheated farmers out of their due by refusing to buy crops on time to depress prices. Tareen is also a convicted insider-trader, having bought and sold stock market shares through his cook and gardener after having manipulated prices whilst being a minister in General Musharraf’s regime. He got away by simply returning the swindled money to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan instead of being fined and jailed, because he was part of the dictator’s cabinet. The ‘weakest of the weak’ mention also brings to mind transgenders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who were killed with impunity throughout the Khan government’s tenure in the province. KP was the only province which caved into Islamist pressure when it came to legislating against violence that women faced, and sent the women’s protection bill to the Council of Islamic Ideology instead. All other provinces fought to successfully legislate for protection of women, children and minorities.
Imran's personal life is a testimony to the hypocrisy he practices - A wife without cover to a wife with cover !
Khan also made an abrupt reference to China’s success in alleviating poverty, rather incongruously, while talking about his mirage of an Islamic welfare state. He mentioned ‘rule of law’ and ‘equal before the law’, but he has trampled upon it and climbed on the shoulders of those not considered ‘equal before the law’ to reach the top.
Khan has climbed the rubble of the Pakistani constitution, law, institutions, and democracy created by military gunships and tanks to reach the top of a pile of a sorry mess to croon of a Medina to a divided country. His die-hard fans refuse to acknowledge or reconcile the unforgivably infinite contradictions about the man and his less-than-holy rise – in an era where he could have fought an honest battle.

No Exit
A confidante and advisor of The Great Khan was making plans to go abroad for a bit and discovered that he was still firmly on the No Exit list. So, he let matters rest and cancelled his plans. We also hear that The Khan wants his sons to visit over Christmas and the boys insist, if they do come to Naya Pakistan, that they will stay at their aunt’s home in the vicinity, as they did when they last visited their father.

5.3 magnitude earthquake jolts northern parts of Pakistan - Javed Hussain

An earthquake of moderate intensity was felt in the country's upper and northern parts on Friday.

According to the Regional Seismic Monitoring Centre, Lahore, the jolts were recorded at an intensity of 5.3 on the Richter scale. Tremors were felt in Islamabad, Peshawar, Swat, Buner, Shangla, Malakand besides various other parts of Pakistan.

The earthquake's epicentre was reported by the Met department to be the Tajikistan-Xinjian border region. It had a depth of 120 kilometres.

Panic arose among citizens due to the jolts, prompting them to quickly vacate their homes and offices and stand under the open skies to wait out the episode.

A flurry of tweets was seen across Twitter with #Islamabad and #earthquake trending. People prayed for the safety of their loved ones and some were asking for verification of whether the tremors they felt were real.

In May this year, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake rocked Afghanistan and various parts of Pakistan, sending people racing out of buildings in the two capitals and injuring at least 13 people and damaging dozens of homes in both countries.

Earlier in January, a minor girl was killed and at least 15 others injured as a 6.1-magnitude earthquake jolted various parts of the country.
