its not fake news per se, but spun news (like all news) but in a specific direction. your second hypothesis sounds strong to me
the trail from her through the NRA to policy influencing is relatively clear, as is the modus operandi
there were attempts to exhonerate her and then throw her under the bus and maybe another rescue attempt
I expect there is a medal waiting for her somewhere for her heroism in the face of the enemy (e.g. sleeping with old fat men)

meantime the kommander and leader of the free world was watching saturday night live SNL and did not like it.

step forward those who wish to serve...
for armies will be formed...
the korrupt will be ripped from their decadent nests...
and cast out into the cold world which we all know and endure...
courts shall be convened...
spoils will be shared...
blood shall be shed...
...
this great city Gotham, yes it will survive.... :)

CNN

He first tweeted Sunday morning, "Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live on Fake News NBC! Question is, how do the Networks get away with these total Republican hit jobs without retribution? Likewise for many other shows? Very unfair and should be looked into. This is the real Collusion!"

Then four minutes later, he tweeted in all caps -- telling us how he apparently now views the iconic comedy show as part of those threatening our nation: "THE RIGGED AND CORRUPT MEDIA IS THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!"

U.S. Is a Rich Country With Symptoms of a Developing Nation
All of this raises a disturbing question: Is it possible for a rich, industrialized country to fall back into the middle ranks? The United Nations classifies countries as developed, developing and a middle category called “in transition.” But it’s generally assumed that the economies in transition are on their way up, not down.
Great metrics and graphs in the article.

Diego Garcia and Mauritius
From Singapore to Djibouti and Bahrain to Brazil, today the US operates about 800 military bases outside its sovereign territory -- more than any other nation.
"If you take all the other foreign bases owned by countries together there are only about 30," says Daniel Immerwahr, a professor of history at Northwestern University.
Most of America's bases were acquired during the era of decolonization, after World War II, when traditional colonial powers such as Britain and France were shedding colonies around the world, especially in Asia.

In a 1966 memo, as Britain prepared to hand the Chagos Islands to the US, British civil servant Paul Gore-Booth wrote that the aim of the exercise was "to get some rocks which will remain ours."
To which British diplomat Dennis Greenhill replied, in a cable brutally maligning the population of the Chagos Islands: "Unfortunately, along with birds go some few Tarzans ... whose origins are obscure and who are hopefully being wished on to Mauritius."
Had Greenhill illuminated himself he would have learned that the first inhabitants of the Chagos Islands were slaves shipped from Madagascar and Mozambique to work on coconut plantations by the French in the 18th century. After the Napoleonic wars, France ceded the Chagos Islands to Britain.
Diego Garcia, the largest island in the Chagos archipelago and site of a major United States military base, located in the middle of the Indian Ocean, was leased from Britain in 1966. The Chagosians developed a pleasant lifestyle distinct to that on Mauritius, where back-breaking work was endured on sugar plantations, says Vine. They developed their own version of the Creole language, schools for their children, tended private gardens and led a peaceful way of life.
In 1967, the US and UK began tearing that life apart, exiling all the inhabitants from their land.
"Initially, people who went for special medical treatment to Mauritius were just never allowed to come back," says Pierre Prosper, who was born on Peros Banhos, a northeast atoll of Chagos. "So a mother who gave birth would be left in Mauritius while the rest of the family would be in Chagos."
Medical and food supplies to the island were gradually restricted, until eventually, in 1973, all those remaining were told they had to leave "overnight," Prosper says. According to witness testimony provided to CNN by former residents, the Chagosians were herded into the hold of two cargo ships, then dumped on the quayside in Mauritius or the Seychelles. The pets they left behind were rounded up by soldiers and gassed. Their houses left to the jungle.
"People were living in cemeteries or in cattle houses, anywhere they could get a roof over their heads," says Isobel Charlot, whose family wound up in Mauritius. "The Chagos Islands were beautiful. Going to Mauritius abruptly made them depressed, many became alcoholics."
In the 1980s, the UK paid some $5.2 million to more than 1,300 islanders on the condition they renounce their right to return.

neurosurgeons make a million dolla PA while malpractice insurance premium is a mere 100k. let us cry a bucket for these "poor" folks.
This statement is completely wrong. the premium for malpractice in neurosurgery is close to half a million dollars per annum. Most neurosurgeons can not even practice independently . They have to get a job in a hospital to survive. I would not recommend anyone to get into this speciality.

It depends on the state. Some specialties such as neonatal surgery and OB-GYN can have a very high malpractice premium depending on the state. Some people with doctoral degrees and post doc fellows in astrophysics, physics, mathematics and chemistry from top 20 US universities have a real hard time surviving after going through rigorous programs. I have no sympathy for physicians - cry me a river.

Thank the gods that the Trump administration has introduced legislation for "Truth in Medical Billing".

Neurosurgery malpractice premium is highest of all specialities including ob/gyn. it is not hundred thousand dollars in any state.

I really doubt it is a significant percentage of revenue earned by any physician group. OB/GYN may be less in premium, but malpractice lawsuits are probably higher for them. Bariatric surgery is another high risk area for lawsuits. For any physicians group, malpractice insurance is a legitimate business expense from a tax point of view.

Ob/Gyn has high malpractice insurance becasue of the long tail it has. The least premium is for Psychiatrists and then general practitioners. Neurosurgeon have high claim rates against them AFAIK (around 20%?)

Unlike the poor in India, the poor in the US have some sort of alcohol or drug use among pregnant women. They are also older and may have other STDs too. Generally, if anyone who walks into a doctor's office in the US has tattoos anywhere on their body is immediately suspect for other issues.

I know this first hand. I am talking about 2005 when we were expecting my second child, My wife and I decided to go back to the ob/gyn who had delivered our first child.

We met with her and she basically said she stopped delivering babies because of the cost of high insurance for medical malpractice. She referred us to a desi ob/gyn who delivered our second one.

BTW, This was in Columbus OH.

Wow. What a President. The balls. He not only took down the Dragon on his own but he will make the chini market the US's. "EU, Japan and the rest of you SOBs are not going benefit from MY phucking trade war with China."

The US doesn't need anyone else to deal with Cheen.

Good and bad for India. The good is Cheen will be less ambitious going forward settling for that number two spot to keep the US from tanking their economy.

The bad is exactly the same plus we no longer have leverage as a counter to a Cheen. The US doesn't need us or anyone else to partner against a Cheen already wilting under the power of Trump.

Trump Kept Allies at Bay in China Trade Talks

President didn’t want EU to benefit from ‘my deal,’ according to European officials

By Vivian Salama and William Mauldin
March 10, 2019 2:02 p.m. ET

WASHINGTON—France’s President Emmanuel Macron came to the White House last April hoping to join forces with President Trump in confronting China on its trade and business practices.

Mr. Macron’s bid for a united front went nowhere, according to people briefed on the discussion. Mr. Trump instead told Mr. Macron he didn’t want to see the European Union reaping the benefits of a U.S.-China trade pact, these people said.

Nearly a year later, Mr. Trump continues to keep European allies at arm’s length, declining to share details of the draft trade agreement—which he has called “my deal,” according to these people, who include officials from several European countries.

DT leaves much to be desired like all US politicians, but getting past TDS a simple understanding of USMCA is a needed revision of NAFTA that normalizes labor, auto manufacturing and environmental rules.

The Kim story isn’t over, let’s see what happens going forward in DT’s second term.

i have a feeling cheen-noko combine is preparing a IED to humiliate trump, give him no deal, just splatter eggs on him leading into 2020 GE. damage his narrative that he brought both of them to heel.

cheen surely has enough reserve to tolerate the pain and keep going for a long time. and they can take noko along. unemployed huawei workers can be moved to shipyards to work on the prolific production of ships.

getting trump out is a unified mission of cheen-noko and sections of the deep state.

Trump is right about the frogs and europeans, though.

Their days of economic and security related piggy backing/freeloading are long over.

If you show contempt for the US, the US will kick you very hard and right in the testimonials too. It's DT diplomacy 101.

The frogs have been singularly contemptuous of the amerikis since before the first world war and have got away with it so far and for what?? some bleddy wine and smelly cheese?? and utterly tasteless "french" cuisine?? and some unidentified "culture"??

It was the amerikis, more than anyone else, who pulled the collective testimonials of the frogs and the europeans out of the german lit fires and also saved them from the deserved savagery of the russian hordes.

Yes but the PRC technocrats do not want to. Putting more workers into the MIC is a first step towards what happened to the USSR -- where 50% of the GDP was building military stuff.

Cheen had grown massively with barely 2% of her economy dedicated to its defense industries. The export industry kick started its position as the world largest car market, largest luxury market and biggest film market (so far in 2019) that even Hollywood depends on. Those are the things that drive a dynamic modern economy.

Trump is turning it into the USSR with his war by clobbering the export sector and all the white goods and electronic industries associated with it so jobs are lost in the millions. And the mercantile Lizard is squealing because it studied and feared what had happened to the Soviets.

those charts have a deep meaning. could any of you imagine that india==usa in world economic growth contrib ever?

its already happened. and this was a country where we had a shortage of 2 wheeler scooters and 1 in 1000 homes had the BSNL bakelite telephone in 80s.

and look at the 2022-2023 estimate...growth automatically brings in the tools and production capacity to manufacture all the essential roti, kapda and 155mm cannons we need......something like 1500 ATAGS should be a bare minimum for the IBGs

the vaunted strike corps and rapids can keep their 5000 fh77,dhanush,m777....I want ATAGS for the IBGs on the border.

CNN

Trump dangles prospect of "very big trade deal" with UK
"We can do a very big trade deal with the UK," US President Donald Trump said during a press conference with Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar in the Oval Office.

Trump also added that the US was re-negotiating its trade deal with the EU.

"If they don’t talk to us we’re going to do something that’s going to be pretty severe economically," he warned. "We’re going to tariff a lot of their products coming -- because the EU treats us very unfairly."

Trump added: "It will probably work out, they’re negotiating. Otherwise we’re going to do something that’s pretty good for the United States."
