palestini terrorists once used a 100kg buried explosive to destroy a 70ton merkava tank, so 350kg vs a thin skin bus has shredded it.
350 kg would indicate they have an in country source for the explosives?

The eyes of the nation will be on the Modi govt.'s reaction to this. This has gone too far and status quo cannot be maintained any longer. Pakistan HAS to pay for this. The pain that the martyr's families are feeling has to be felt in Pakistan. It is now time to act in a disproportionate manner.

Twitter experts profusing knowledge, without doing a day's job. If VBIED is easy to detect, you wouldn't have so many of them hitting US forces in Iraq.

It is not an IED, which stays in one place once detected.
But having a VBIED in the convoy area indicates a gap in SOPs.

Sometimes rage can make you see things better, as they are. If we are not outraged seeing a 'degloved' human body.. when will we be outraged? And sometimes, acting crazy is the rational course of action.

With the US surrender in Afghanistan and the Af-Pak region being ceded by the UN/US to Pakistan,
With the bribe spigot wide open for Pakistan to facilitate an honorable surrender,
With the firm Chinese backstop,

If India does not dramatically over react, we are going to see a river of blood in Kashmir, of which Pulwama was just a trailer.

Make no mistake, this was not a one off. The one-two bombing against India and Iran was a strategic gambit by the Pakistanis. If we do not force the powers that be to take a stand, they will be quite happy to send 'thoughts and prayers' our way, but continue doing what they have been doing.

How did 350 Kgs of I assume RDx type explosive reach the valley
This couldn’t have come in via the LoC
It went in via the Jammu-Srinagar highway through Punjab
If drugs come into Punjab, then explosives can come in too
Did this come in via the Bangladesh border into a safe house in WB?
There has been a spate of explosive and weapon seizures in WB in the last few years

Also the Scorpio was packed with the explosive in a garage somewhere in the valley. The group of terrorists are still in the area, or are on the highway, getting out of the Valley as we speak

India is free to target JEM here. Taking out Masood Azhar, along with revoking article 370 pre-election will set the right tone. This will show that govt has started tough on the response and campaign rhetoric around a much bigger response post election will be good.

Gagan, RDX is a military explosive with very high brisance or explosive power.
The amount 350 kg would have wiped out the convoy. And smuggling 350 kg of RDX is not easy task.

More likely 350 kg is civil construction grade explosives from quarries and rock blasting operations for road/highway building.
Then question comes why was the missing explosive not reported?
Lets wait a little bi for NIA to complete their investigation.
Also were any gun firing on the bus after the explosion?

Folks why are we posting one line like its chat?
Please think a little and post reasoned responses.

First, they chose to attack CAPF because they move in long convoys and have a track record of this movement.
Second, CAPF was chosen as its not the army for Pak can claim plausible deniability.
Third, February is the Afzal guru month. Lot of attacks happen during this period.
I am glad the casualties were only one bus a it could have been worse due to the convoy.
If there is no retaliation it will lead to wedge between Army and CAPF.

Time of India has some reports on the modus operandi and name of a suspect leader.

All illegal mining, quarries have access to commercial grade explosives. This was either made in the valley from fertilizers and other raw materials or smuggled from other places to Kashmir.

Given the easy know how, my guess is raw materials were first shipped to valley and it was perhaps made there in secrecy. The whole module should be eliminated with atleast one or two caught alive.

Retribution across the border should be at a time and place of our choosing to maximise impact.

The following piece of news is mind bogeling
As news of the suicide attack spread, people gathered in Gundibagh (village of the terrorist) and organised a funeral for Dar.

They prevented government officials from reaching the spot.
Who are these officals and how can they be prevented form going to the village?

Pulwama suicide bomber, 22, lived 10km from spot

Ramana,

If we are looking for civil, mining explosives, look at Ampho. The amount, 350 kilograms suggests this. Ampho is a mixture of ammonium nitrate, used as a fertilizer, and fuel oil. It has catastrophic power and was used in the United States in the Oklahoma City bombing. In that instance, one Ryder truck full essentially took down a building. Ampho these days is common in mining to move much bigger volumes of dirt/ore etc than TNT etc.

Until the word "counter" can be put in front of "attack", perhaps an IB4TL is in order? Plus, in any other country, no Officials would enter Gundibagh. It would be surrounded, sealed, and the residents processed out through a filter, with several detained, before the entire village was blown up. But I am glad that in India nothing like that will be done, the surviving terrorist villagers are innocent until they blow someone up.

There is a case reopened all these years after the post-BabriDump festivities in UP. A policeman's relative was lynched by Other Community rioters. The village was surrounded, all the non-females/non-kids were lined up and loaded into trucks. Apparently 47 never returned. The allegation is that they were taken out and shot. Probably after due process identified them as the mob.

UP has been quiet all these years since then..... maybe a lesson there?

Let's not fall for the non state actor trick non state actors operate from territerritory controlled by state actors. We need to now clamp down and eliminate the support system in the valley. I think even air strikes are justifiable.

Heartfelt condolences to the families of our brave, martyred CRPF soldiers.

This is an out and out ISI attack implemented through JeM.

Folks, let's remember that Jaish is the favourite boy of the ISI nowadays because of the heavy focus on LeT and the proven connections between the ISI and the LeT/JuD and Hafiz Mohammed Sayeed. LeT has also been involved in worldwide terror attacks and is therefore carefully monitored by all intelligence agencies. It and its leader are banned by UNSC 1267. FATF has put TSP under grey-list largely because of LeT.

But, the deep links between JeM and the ISI are largely unknown to the powers that be. It is for this reason that China is so strenuously 'protecting' Masood Azhar too because both the ISI and China do not want to lose the sole remaining terror trump card against India, Masood Azhar. The ISI has taken enormous care to cover its links with JeM.

From the time of May 2014, the ISI has been planning a series of attacks on India through JeM. Most of the attacks have been thwarted. Some happened. All of them were by JeM fidayeen terrorists.

Pulwama suicide attack: Both IB and police had warned of Jaish led strike
At least four Intelligence Bureau warnings were issued before the deadly attack at Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir in which nearly 44 CRPF jawans were killed.

Apart from the IB warnings, the J&K police had shared an input, which was uploaded on a private Twitter account, a few days back in which the Jaish-e-Mohammad threatened to carry out a suicide attack on the security forces. The tweet shared by the police carried a 33 second video of troops in Somalia being attacked by terrorists in a similar manner. A similar modus operandi was used by the Jaish terrorist, Adil Hussain Dar at Pulwama.

The twitter handle "313_get" is not open for public viewing. It carried a threat "InshaAllah...its will same in Kashmir...endian are flying in parts...InshaAllah (sic)". The twitter handle is being operated using the virtual private network making it difficult for the security agencies to establish the location of its operator, police officials said. The same was shared during the meeting held two days back and all security formations were alerted about a possible terror attack similar to that carried in the twitter handle. Jammu and Kashmir police had also prepared a dummy video to explain how terrorists may possibly carry out such an attack, the officials said.

In addition to this there were both general and specific warnings issued about a big strike by the Jaish-e-Mohammad. IB officials had also warned that the terror group would carry out something big to commemorate the death anniversaries of both Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat.

Ok. CRPF has road clearing party and gun toting party to deal with snipers but loophole was allowing civilian vehicle movement during convoy travel. This led to the VBIED.

https://twitter.com/iMac_too/status/109 ... 10496?s=19

Looks like Mehbooba Mufti was the one who sought civil vehicle movement to be allowed.

All those CYA Intel reports are useless.
The hole in themselves cheese was allowing civilian traffic during convoy travel.

I am.asking if they identified the explosive.
Let's see.

Takeaway is that the ball is now completely in bjp court. This is the greatest opportunity that they could get. Now is the time to flex the 56 inch chest.... Put the tsp in its place and win the support of a grateful people. In one stroke rid yourself the many issues that jeopardize your victory.

Its Modis moments to make history... I dont know if Saudi prince has come or not..will be just the right moment to bomb Pakis as he arrives in Isloo.... will also propel Modi to 2019 election victory... he could not have asked for a better moment... with the mountains heavily snow bound..its going to be a air battle with the onus on Pakis to escalate
