Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
1) Pankajs ...Modi is not insecure..he is looking supremely confident ..like toying with the NaPakis... His pilot project statement is v ominous.. more power to him.. 2) Taliban in afghanistan will be a big secutiry threat to India in coming times ..so all the more need for strong action now 3) Boss Su 30 has its own advantages ... it can loiter long etc.. its been kept as a reserve...real war is still coming if it does. So calm down. if we can handle napakis with Mig 21 ...imagine what more we can do.
Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
Lol. Read twitter. Pakis are infuriated by Imran’s capitulation on Abhinandan.
Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
well the pakis lost half the country in 1971 and 90,000POW but still spun it as a tremendous victory of gritty survival , denied the holocaust with support of west and got right down to the task of building n-weapons, again while USA prevented the arrest of AQ khan.Aditya_V wrote:It will not end now the Pakis dont feel they have been hit hard publicly but privately know the truth and will have to bury thier dead quietly, Ripe for them to try something again.
you really think losing half the PAF to a full on fight will "change them" ?
they need to be given periodic beatings and controlled like a frontier land of savages adjoining the mauryan/vijayanagar empire and fenced off for most part. increasing contest for resources there will take its toll. the rich and middle class are abandoning it for the gulf and anglo countries and poor as illegal migrants wherever they can sneak in. the core west punjab-kashmir will remain a nuclear armed hostile bantustan. the rest will slowly move to their natural orbits of iran, talibunnystan and india. gravity is slow but unstoppable.
today their infant mortality is worse than even Nepal. its the worst in south asia. says something about their governance. see it here.
its more than twice that of india https://www.infoplease.com/world/health ... -countries
so they continue on the path. our relative disparity in economy and power is 10x now, will be 30x in 2030. from ASEAN to the gulf to the coast of africa, nations and leaders are lining up to talk to us, engage with our economy and built mutually beneficial economic and security long term relationships.

Let's be sober in analysis. In war expect casualties...of all types of aircraft and eqpt.In the last Lebanon spat the Istaelis lost several Merkava tanks.Where the tanks poor? No.They were not supported by infantry allowing the Hiz to disable them at close quarters with legacy Sov. era ATGMs and tandem- warhead RPGs.
Now our frontline defences- point defence mainly, are tasked for our MIGs in the main as we have a large number of them.Their combat radius is the least of our types and are used as interceptors for point defence. The IAF strength was reportedly less than half than that of the 24+ strong PAF. Seeing the MKIs as part of our counterforce, they turned tail.In the dogfight that ensued , the Bison chasing an F-16, got exposed due to the numerical superiority of the attacking force and was shot down by an AMRAAM, the best AAM in the PAF inventory. That he managed to shoot down an F-16 with an R-73 must be a record of sorts.
One aircraft loss shouldn't rattle our faith in the various types of aircraft we have.If we use a BMos-A fired from an MKI in the next round, it doesn't mean that the other types are no good. Each type has its role to play.however, if it were not obvious before, the urgent need to replace retiring legacy aircraft of the IAF has been made even more acute. Both the IAF and GOI/ MODs over time have been to blame. The IAF for not purposefully embedding themselves into the LCA programme, the ADA for acute delays and HAL for v.slow production. We've beaten that horse dead over the last 20 yrs. of debate. All we can do is pray and hope that the LCA programme will turn the corner. But it will not suffice for our immediate needs.
What the IAF also has been guilty of is wanting the most expensive birds, " no plan B", that annoyed MP, which also delayed matters. Why couldn't the IAF have asked for extra MIG-29s a few years ago , not now?It could've picked up 2 sqds. on the cheap plus second-hand late model M2Ks for upgrading instead of only demanding the Rafale as one AM advocated.
The Bis into Bison,a type already in service and upgraded hugely in capability was to the credit of the past chiefs and top brass of yesteryear who wisely decided to upgrade the 21-Bis which has claimed fame today.
They correctly had reservations abiut timely LCA delivery.
One Q though about upgrades. Why after years of prior approval Jag upgrades have yet to start? At this rate when upgraded at HAL std. time, they'll be quite obsolete when completed a decade from now even if we upgrade them at the rate of 12 per yr.
It is quite obvious therefore that we have to buy extra aircraft from abroad.More of types in service plus a new type.
Acquiring extra aircraft of existing types is the fastest way of replenishment in our tortured acquisition process to meet the current crisis.
The GOI should seize the moment, cut through the MOD red tape with CCS endorsement and immediately acquire extra aircraft in as cost- effective manner .in G-to-G deals

X Posted from the Terroristan thread. Anyone saw this comming .
Looking at the headline of “Pakistan to lodge U.N. complaint against India for 'eco-terrorism' forest bombing” I thought Reuters unbeknownst to me had started a spot satirising current events. I was then rather bemused to find out that it was actual news and based on the comment of the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s Minister of Climate Change one Malik Amin Aslam.
Only bemused rather than surprised, as the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s Ministry of Climate Change is rather saazish minded when India is involved. Posters here may recollect the tweet of the Junior Minister of Climate Change {Minister of State}, one Zartaj Gul Wazir, who declared that the Islamic Republic’s winter smog problem was “connected to the unconventional warfare we're embattled in with our eastern neighbour, India”.

2. Twitter:Climate Change Minister Malik Amin Aslam said Indian jets bombed a “forest reserve” and the government was undertaking an environmental impact assessment, which will be the basis a complaint at the United Nations and other forums.
“What happened over there is environmental terrorism,” Aslam told Reuters, adding that dozens of pine trees had been felled. “There has been serious environmental damage.”
In response to @sherryrehman's question in Senate today about smog:
Smog is a major environmental concern in Pakistan. And we have to accept and acknowledge that it's connected to the unconventional warfare we're embattled in with our eastern neighbour, India.

There was a break in firing several times during the day but terrorists would start firing as soon as the security forces advanced towards the house where they were hiding, officials said.

So the R73 hit the F16 in a tail chase ? That would make it a very difficult sell considering so many PAF in the air.
Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion
BSF needs to give the pakis a ultimatum. complete the process in 10 mins or take him back and hold the hot potato and we can go back to where we were on wednesday morning. ask the pak ranger to answer to their PM why he returned back with the POW.
there will be consequences. infact its time to close the dukan, so BSF will go home and is no more interested in his return. take him back to lahore and face the consequences when PMO comes to know.
