Looking at the headline of “Pakistan to lodge U.N. complaint against India for 'eco-terrorism' forest bombing” I thought Reuters unbeknownst to me had started a spot satirising current events. I was then rather bemused to find out that it was actual news and based on the comment of the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s Minister of Climate Change one Malik Amin Aslam.

Only bemused rather than surprised, as the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s Ministry of Climate Change is rather saazish minded when India is involved. Posters here may recollect the tweet of the Junior Minister of Climate Change {Minister of State}, one Zartaj Gul Wazir, who declared that the Islamic Republic’s winter smog problem was “connected to the unconventional warfare we're embattled in with our eastern neighbour, India”.

1. Pakistan to lodge U.N. complaint against India for 'eco-terrorism' forest bombing :
Climate Change Minister Malik Amin Aslam said Indian jets bombed a “forest reserve” and the government was undertaking an environmental impact assessment, which will be the basis a complaint at the United Nations and other forums.

“What happened over there is environmental terrorism,” Aslam told Reuters, adding that dozens of pine trees had been felled. “There has been serious environmental damage.”
2. Twitter:
In response to @sherryrehman's question in Senate today about smog:

Smog is a major environmental concern in Pakistan. And we have to accept and acknowledge that it's connected to the unconventional warfare we're embattled in with our eastern neighbour, India.

There should be a systematic effort to compete and undercut the Pakistani export capability by offering aggressive duty drawback and other incentives to our exporters. The pakis simply do not have the capabibilty to match that given that there is a huge outstanding back log of such incentives that the government there is not able to pay. It is offering promissory notes and bonds to exporters with little down payment and bulk of the outstanding to be paid over 24-48 months. :rotfl:
We should also now make sure that the GSP + preference facility that Terroristani textiles enjoy in the EU market is not renewed. India and Bangladesh allowed it last time in 2014 by not objecting to it and hence it was granted. When it comes up for renewal we should not allow it.
I've been personally boycotting everything that comes from Pakistan as a matter of routine for decades. Sometimes I discover something is Paki origin after buying it, and when that happens ... I never make that mistake again. This doesn't require much effort, but none of my friends or relatives do this.

Maybe we can finally convince regular people to start boycotting. It's a shameful travesty that most of our fellow citizens happily buy Paki goods without a second thought. I'm being delusional here; we at BRF are the only Indians who care.

Inflation touches 56-month high in Feb - Salman Siddiqui

KARACHI: In line with expectations, the pace of inflation shot up to a 56-month high at 8.21% in February 2019, driven up by a significant surge in the cost of living on almost every front, including higher utility bills, increased cost of education and health care as well as rise in transportation and communication expenses.

The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported on Friday that inflation measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) accelerated to 8.21% in February 2019 compared to 3.8% in the same month of previous year.

“The uptrend in inflation is in line with market expectations,” Arif Habib Limited Head of Research Samiullah Tariq told The Express Tribune. “Inflation stood high primarily due to rupee depreciation.”

Moreover, prices of several essential goods were significantly low at this time last year. Consequently, “the low base effect of last year also contributed to the increase in the inflation reading,” he said.

Consumers brace for higher inflation in FY19

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has let the rupee depreciate by a massive 32% since December 2017 to Rs138.53 to the US dollar on Friday in a bid to push up exports and control imports, which will shore up declining foreign currency reserves of the country and help manage balance of payments deficit. This also has a delayed impact on prices of goods.

PBS reported that transportation services became expensive by 13.32% in February 2019 compared to a drop of 0.43% in prices in the same month of previous year.

Alcoholic beverages and tobacco became expensive by 13.21% compared to just 0.46% in the corresponding month of previous year. Similarly, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels became costlier by 11.55% against just 0.01% earlier; education cost 10.21% more versus increase of 0.16% earlier; cost of furnishing and household equipment maintenance rose 9.24% compared to 1.21%; communication became expensive by 7.77% compared to 0.05% and health care cost 7.76% more compared to 0.46% in February 2018.

Other goods including clothing and footwear, food and non-alcoholic beverages and miscellaneous goods and services became expensive in the range of 4.52-9.87%.

Inflation slows down for 2nd straight month, stands at 6.2%

Perishable food items was the only group which remained in the negative as their prices fell 0.81% in February 2019 compared to 10.40% in the same month of last year, the PBS reported.

It mentioned that prices of tomato, ginger, beef, sugar, tea (Lipton), mutton, gur, ghee (loose), fish, moong pulse, eggs, cooking oil, rice, gram pulse, gram whole (black), fresh milk and wheat increased in the range of 3.21-179.40%.

Average 8-month inflation

Average rate of inflation for first eight months (July-February) of current fiscal year came in at 6.46% where transportation (up 16.81%) and education (up 11.61%) were the two largest categories, the PBS reported.

The central bank in its latest quarterly report on the state of economy released recently said: “The SBP’s inflation projection for FY19 increased further in the range of 6.5-7.5%. Following factors played a key role in this regard – a higher-than-anticipated rise in international oil prices and its pass-through to domestic fuel prices; upward revision in domestic gas prices; further increase in regulatory duties on imports in early September 2018 and continued second-round impact of previous rupee depreciations.”

Core inflation at 6-year high

Core inflation – the non-food and non-energy inflation – continued to pick up pace in February 2019. It grew at almost six-year high pace of 8.8% compared to 5.2% in February 2018, according to the PBS and tradingeconomics.com.

Core inflation has maintained the rising trend for the last nine consecutive months.

Some economists give more importance to the core inflation over CPI inflation as it depicts a non-volatile pricing trend than the CPI which includes rapid fluctuations in food and energy prices.

Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman not the first to shoot down Pakistani F-16. It was Pakistan Air Force that did it.
While Wg Cdr Abhinandan's shootdown of the F-16 is another story, it wasn't the first time a Pakistani F-16 has been shot down. That distinction goes to the Pakistan Air Force.

The event in question happened on April 29, 1987. Two PAF F-16As of the No 14 Squadron were diverted from their return to their base towards Miranshah, near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. This was at the height of the joint campaign against the Russian presence in Afghanistan.

Their task was to engage a formation of four Russian MiG-23s that were carrying out a bombing operation in Afghanistan, on the pretext that the Russian aircraft were violating Pakistani airspace.

The two F-16s came in below the climbing MiG-23s, when one of them was hit. It turned out that an AIM-9P Sidewinder missile fired by the F-16 flown by then Wg Cdr Amjad Javed had hit the right wing of the other F-16, bringing it down. The F-16 that took the hit was flown by Flight Lieutenant Shahid Sikandar, who ejected safely and went on to retire as a Wing Commander.

Then too, as now, Pakistan attempted to cover up the embarrassment saying the F-16 had crashed due to technical difficulties. The event had caused concern in the top levels of the US government, over the vulnerabilities of the F-16 against Russian aircraft.

Investigations later revealed to the international community that a sensor that is supposed to identify if the target locked on is a friend or foe had failed to correctly identify it partner.

AFGHANS DOWN A PAKISTANI F-16, SAYING FIGHTER JET CROSSED BORDER
The Afghan Government said today that it had succeeded for the first time in shooting down a Pakistani F-16 jet fighter, which it asserted had intruded into Afghan territory.

The incident Wednesday was another sign of mounting air warfare at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border that has cost hundreds of lives in Pakistan this year and is stirring concern in Islamabad and Washington.

It also occurred at a time when Pakistan has asked the United States to sell or lease it advanced radar planes to help spot intruding aircraft. Such planes would be able to perform their task at some distance from the border.

Afghanistan said it shot down the American-made F-16 after two F-16's crossed the border at Khost district in Paktia Province in the border area southwest of Peshawar. It said the F-16's were at first warned and then fired upon by Afghan jets. Pakistan Reports Loss of Jet

Pakistan acknowledged that one of its jets had been downed but dismissed the Afghan version, saying that its planes had never violated Afghan airspace and were attacked in Pakistani territory.

The Pakistani authorities said the incident occurred Wednesday when six Afghan aircraft violated Pakistani airspace and two Pakistani jets intercepted them. They said one jet was shot down over the Pakistani town of Miram Shah. They said the pilot bailed out and landed in Pakistani territory uninjured. Islamabad also said the downed plane could have been either an F-16, which is one of the most advanced American-mad

US seeks information on potential misuse of F-16 by Pakistan.
While the exact details of the restrictions were discussed in a closed-door session, and thus remains classified, Miller then broadly outlined some of the restrictions, which he said were over a "dozen new and unprecedented elements" of the security plan for Pakistan.

Miller then told lawmakers that the security provisions also include semi-annual inventories of all F-16 aircraft equipment and munitions, including related technical data, and more frequent inventories for other systems. (It is official - Terroristan air force chief, the base commander at Chaklala and other fields that F-16's operate from and the pilots flying them have to bend in line holding the vaseleine jar atleast two times every year  )

"There is a two-man rule, so to speak, for access to this equipment and restricted areas, and F-16 flights outside of Pakistan or participation in exercises and operations with third nations must be approved in advance by the United States government :rotfl: :rotfl: ," the then top State Department official said, according to the transcripts of the hearing.

A more extensive excerpt from Statement of John Hillen, Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Political Military Affairs, U.S. Department of State to the Committee on International Relations of the US House of Representatives dating to 20 July 2006.

It will be interesting to see if the “Semiannual inventories of all F–16 aircraft equipment and munitions” by the US will show an F16 and AMRAAM missing from the inventory and this information actually makes it to the public domain despite non disclosure stipulations thereby confirming that India downed an F16:
The Administration very carefully considered the potential risk of diversion of United States technology and equipment, and we are taking appropriate steps to minimize those risks. Furthermore, the Government of Pakistan, including the Pakistan Air Force, has been extremely cooperative in responding to our concerns on the security of aircraft and technology.

I think we will discuss this in detail in the closed session further, but I would like to note a few things. First of all, the security plan greatly exceeds United States Air Force standards for our own security of these weapon systems. I know all the Members have great respect for the way in which our Air Force protects its security, but I would also like to highlight nearly a dozen new and unprecedented elements of the security plan for Pakistan.

We, of course, have had a U.S. Government security site survey of their bases and facilities. We have put into the deal that they must comply with the approved security plans for their F–16 related bases and facilities before we will release any systems in the sale. We will have a U.S. presence to monitor compliance with the security plan requirements. A very enhanced end-use monitoring program. Semiannual inventories of all F–16 aircraft equipment and munitions, including related technical data. More frequent inventories for other systems. There are separate and distinct and restricted areas for the F–16 aircraft equipment and munitions. And no mixing with third-country origin aircraft equipment and munitions, and all of this will be monitored. Routine access to F–16 aircraft and munitions is in restricted areas and limited to Pakistan Air Force personnel that are preapproved for such. There is a two-man rule, so to speak, for access to this equipment and restricted areas. And F–16 flights outside of Pakistan and participation in exercises and operations with third nations must be approved in advance by the United States Government. The maintenance is limited to remove and replace line replaceable units and shop replaceable units. And Pakistani Air Force personnel must perform the maintenance. No Pakistan contractors, industry, or third-country nationals. We have also mandated that the F–16 maintenance and parts storage must be in dedicated facilities. Also part of the overall surveillance plan.

No lessons learnt - Anjum Altaf

PAKISTAN should be a welfare state. With millions of people straddling the poverty line, there is no other way forward. Those who believe the market will offer a solution are driven by ideology, blind fundamentalists in the same category as religious fundamentalists.

Only the state can cater for such destitution and the fact that a state has no interest or ability to do so does not mean that the task should be turned over to the market. The plain truth is that the market cares nothing for those without the ability to pay and there are many more in that category than should be acceptable.

Not just that, without a strong state the market doesn’t trickle wealth down, it siphons it up. The only viable alternative is to force the state to deliver on its responsibility and in the long run the only peaceful weapon citizens have to achieve that is the power of their votes. Let not this power be exhausted by either subverting it or ignoring its claims. The demand for bread can be fobbed off only so long with the promise of cakes.

We should pay heed to the fact that instead of moving towards a ‘welfare’ state we are consciously turning into even more of a ‘warfare’ state than we already happen to be. It is in this context that one should consider the decision of the cabinet, delivered without any sense of irony by the minister for information at the time of the recent mini-budget: “The country’s defence budget is already low as compared to other states in the region, and therefore it should be increased” — though there was no such known demand for this by the establishment.

Hello, Mr Minister. The country’s budget for everything else — health, education, public transport, environmental sanitation, you name it — is also already low as compared to other states in the region. So why just the privileging of defence? On the contrary, the budget for everything else is being reduced even further to make up for the increase.

The deficit is intended to be made up “through the generation of more revenue” but given that no elite has ever taxed itself voluntarily except under extreme duress, this burden of taxation is also likely to fall on the middle and lower classes through dubious withholding taxes on mobile phones and the like.

In actual fact, the deficit is being made up by scrounging around for a billion here and a billion there on terms that cannot be disclosed to citizens and by printing money like there is no tomorrow.

All that the printed money is causing is inflation that is eroding the purchasing power of the helpless even further. I am sure the poor are ready to sacrifice for the nation but what does the interest of the nation entail? Is it always more guns at the cost of butter? And will the sacrifice ever be equitably shared or will one category continue to be evicted from tiny plots where they have lived for decades while others are allotted plots on which pets live better than the humans who feed them?

Where is the sense of irony in all this? Recall the out-of-the-box policy of some wizard in the Economic Advisory Committee who advocated a ban on imported cheese with the justification: ‘can a country that has no foreign exchange afford to eat cheese?’

Hello, again, Mr Jack-in-the-Box. Granted a country that has no foreign exchange ought not to eat imported cheese but can its leaders still afford to fly around in helicopters and ride in SUVs? Why doesn’t the cabinet set an example by getting to work on camels and setting up offices in tents instead of sprawling complexes with perpetual air-conditioning? And while they are demonstrating how people — all people — ought to be living in a country with no foreign exchange, why don’t they turn off the hot water as well since that has now been declared a luxury in the New Pakistan?

Have we learned nothing from history? The Soviet Union collapsed ballooning its defence budget while making people wait in endless queues for the necessities of life. Countries that neglect the minimum welfare of their citizens and fight endless futile wars get hollowed out from within and ultimately implode. This insight was obvious even to a president like Reagan who was otherwise not very bright. All the US had to do was to engage the Soviet Union in an endless arms race and the latter ran out of space.

Modi is a sharper politician and is following the same strategy with Pakistan — no negotiations till the room for manoeuvre disappears. And we are helping him along. When two countries are developing at radically different rates, every day that passes weakens the negotiating position of the laggard till the only recourse left is capitulation or the madness of mutual destruction.

Verily it is said that those whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad. And when they wish to destroy completely, they make them madder still.

Pakistan may withdraw its opposition to proposal to designate Azhar as global terrorist: Report – PTI

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan may take "decisive action" against all proscribed organisations, including Jaish-e-Muhammed (JEM ), and even withdraw its opposition to the move to list terror outfit's chief Masood Azhar in the UN Security Council terror list, according to a media report on Sunday.

The US, the UK and France on Wednesday moved a fresh proposal in the UN Security Council to designate Pakistan-based chief Azhar as a global terrorist, a listing that will subject him to global travel ban, asset freeze and arms embargo.

In a major policy decision, Pakistan is set to take decisive action against all proscribed organisations as well as against the head of banned JeM, a senior security official familiar with the development was quoted as saying by the Express Tribune.

It is not clear what specific action would be taken against Azhar but the official hinted that Pakistan may withdraw its opposition to the listing of JeM chief as global terrorist by the
UN Security Council.

"The state has to decide whether individual is important or the larger national interest of the country," the official said when asked if Pakistan would no more oppose the UNSC action against Azhar.

The Security Council Sanctions Committee will consider within 10 days on the fresh proposal moved by the three permanent veto-wielding members of the 15-nation Security Council.

The proposal is the fourth such bid at the UN in the last 10 years to list Azhar as a global terrorist.

In 2009, India moved a proposal to designate Azhar, whose UN-proscribed JeM claimed responsibility for the suicide attack against Indian security forces in Pulwama on February 14 in which 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed.

In 2016 again, India moved the proposal with the P3 - the United States, the United Kingdom and France in the UN's 1267 Sanctions Committee to ban Azhar, also the mastermind of the attack on the air base in Pathankot in January, 2016.

In 2017, the P3 nations moved a similar proposal again. However, on all occasions, China, a veto-wielding permanent member of the Security Council, blocked India's proposal from being adopted by the Sanctions Committee.

The official, however, insisted that the move to take action against such individuals was taken before the Pulwama attack, the report said.

He also clarified Pakistan's decision to act decisively was taken not to give any "face saving" to India.

"We need to correct ourselves in our own national interests and not someone else's," the official was quoted as saying in the report.

The official further said that the Pakistani authorities had conducted investigations into the Pulwama terror attack on CRPF personnel and found "no evidence whatsoever of any involvement of Pakistan or any organisation in it."

Stressing that the country's leadership was determined to take action against anyone found involved in the Pulwama attack, he said the dossier shared by India with Pakistan had nothing in it that suggested involvement of any Pakistani Organization.

I can only :rotfl:

So Masood Azar was not designated a global terrorist because of Pakistan's opposition?

There are only two possibilities if this news is true?

1. He got his 72. Either from gifts sent to him in Balakhot or TFTAs decided he is not worth the trouble and dispatched him. Note to Paklurks: In both the cases, you need to get your revenge on Pakistan Army. They were at best unable to protect him and at worst killed him!!!!

2. China has decided it cannot protect Masood Azar anymore. Note that Masood Azar's listing did not move forward due to technical hold put by China. Now probably they've calculated that it is not sustainable.

This news of "If you list Masood Azar we dont have any problems onleee" is a poor attempt at salvaging echhandee from TFTAs.

In a major policy decision, Pakistan is set to take decisive action against all proscribed organisations as well as Masood Azhar
Makes total sense. Musharraf made this major policy decision. Zardari made his major policy decision. Nawaz Sharif made this major policy decision. And now Dimran has made this major policy decision.

Like Al Qaeda No 3, who would magically die any time someone important from Amreeka was visiting, Major policy decisions to act against terrorists are made four times a year, every year for the past 20 years.

Especially when Jet fuel is running low and negotiations with IMF are in their final stage.

I am sure if we live to see the day, in 2099 we would have the news
MAJOR POLICY DECISION BY WHAT IS LEFT OF PREVIOUSLY KNOWN COUNTRY AS BAKISTAN TO ACT DECISIVELY AGAINST TERRORISTS!!!!!

China might have sensed that a technical hold on Masood & JeM can invite Indian technical hold on Gwadar & CPEC this time. Back door , it might have told pakistan , JeM is banned this time.it's not wise to stand tall in front of a raging elephant ala Doklam.

Hence , pakistan taking away it's objection to save it's echandee as mango abduls will see taller than mountains , deeper than oceans and sweeter than honey friend deserting pakistan.

So , pakistan saving it's echandee by withdrawing it's objection.

Pakistan won't hesitate to use nukes in face of defeat against India, warns Amarinder Singh – PTI

AMRITSAR: Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Monday cautioned that Pakistan would not hesitate to use its nuclear arsenal if it felt it was losing out against India in a conventional battle.

Refusing to comment on the casualty figure in the Indian Air Force strikes on a terror camp in Balakot in Pakistan, Singh, who has served as Army Captain, said, "Whether it was one killed or 100, the message has gone out loud and clear – India will not let the killing of its innocent soldiers and citizens go unpunished."

He asserted that neither country could afford a full-scale war.

"Pakistan will not hesitate to use its nuclear arsenal if it felt it is losing out against India in a conventional war," Singh told the media here.

Pointing out that both India and Pakistan were nuclear powers, he said it was not in either country's interest to use the weapons of destruction but Islamabad could "indulge in such a misadventure if faced with defeat in other battles".

The IAF strikes had proven India's resolve to deal with the problem in the wake of the Pulwama attack on a CRPF convoy, the CM said.

Noting that Pakistan was in a huge economic mess and had been "going around with a begging bowl and surviving on doles from other Islamic nations", Singh said they could "ill afford a full-fledged war with India".

And though both are nuclear power countries, Pakistan could act out of desperation to use its nuclear weapons if they found themselves cornered, he warned.

Imran Khan's response proves we hit the target in Balakot, says IAF chief - V Mayilvaganan

COIMBATORE/NEW DELHI: Air Chief Marshal B S Dhanoa said on Monday that Pakistan’s attempted retaliation, which sparked an aerial dogfight, clearly indicated that the Indian Air Force hit Jaish-e-Muhammed targets in Balakot.“If we plan to hit the target, we hit the target. Otherwise, why would he (PM Imran Khan) have responded? If we dropped bombs in jungles, why would he respond?” he asked, adding the preliminary bomb damage assessment showed the Spice-2000 bombs had hit the pre-designated targets.

The reference to ongoing operations seems in context of a state of high alert after the Indian bombing of the Jaish camp and Pakistan’s retaliatory raid along the Line of Control near Nowshera in which a MiG-21 shot down a Pakistani F-16 and was itself brought down. The MiG pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman’s parachute landed in PoK and he was returned after a spell in captivity.

The IAF chief, speaking for the first time after the JeM facility in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was hit by Indian Mirage-2000s, said his force was not in the business of counting the number of casualties inflicted in a strike mission.

Intelligence reports had indicated presence of over 300 terrorists at the JeM facility on that day.Pakistanhas claimed IAF bombs fell in open forested areas but BS Dhanoa said targets were struck. Foreign secretary Vijay Gokhale had last week said “a very large number of JeM terrorists, trainers, senior commanders and groups of jihadis were eliminated” in the February 26 operation.

Asked why ageing MiG-21s were deployed against Pakistani F-16s, which along with JF-17s and Mirage-5 attack jets had sought to target Indian military installations on February 27, the IAF chief said, “See, one is a planned operation in which you plan and carry out, like the first strike we did. But when an adversary does a strike on you, every available aircraft goes in, irrespective of which aircraft it is. All aircraft are capable of fighting the enemy."

After the high-altitude dogfight on February 27, parts of an AIM-120C advanced medium-range air-to-air missile (Amraam), which is only carried by F-16s in Pakistan’s combat fleet, was recovered from east of Rajouri in J&K. Claims that India “managed” to get parts of the missile, possibly of Taiwanese origin, were denied by Taiwan which said armaments in its use were not transferred to any third country.

“Obviously, I think they have lost an F-16 aircraft in that combat. I don't know what is the end-user agreement between America and Pakistan. If the end-user agreement was that they will not use it for offensive purposes, then I think they have violated that end-user agreement,” BS Dhanoa said.

The MiG-21s in IAF’s combat fleet have been equipped with better weapons, air-to-air missiles and radars to upgrade them “from third generation to 3.5 generation or so”, he added

@SJ "Internal threats are over rated and will automatically fall in line once the govt. decides on a decisive path forward."

I was alluding whether the govt. itself will stick around to take any path.
India has great cards right now which can alter its trajectory forever, but a player is needed.
Not Mayavati.

Just throwing random factoids for those who grasp:

We have a fractious alliance of Israel, US, Saudis, and even pakistan!! arrayed agains Iran. Lets look a bit deeper Trump and especially Kushner are in trouble. Netanyahu is facing charges.

China has invested in gwadar also hedged with Iran(chahbahar) but obviously heavily loaded towards Pak.
https://www.scmp.com/news/asia/east-asi ... ctions-and

India can play a spoiler for ALL the above parties concerned and has tremendous leverage. It not only is a big market for oil but can devalue chinese investments by minor tantrums (subconventional)

China cannot buy from Iran but We some of us like Japan and India can.

Deal or not, the US and China are bound to each other at least for soem time to come.

I come across laments or BR: NYT/Unkil apun ko bhau nahi deta hai etc
No one gives bhau to those who are inhibited. Fault lies with India.

Theres a start contrast between whats expected from India by outsiders and whats it's doing, best delivered by Tarek Fateh ofcourse:

Maybe he should be PM if Modi cant't make it !

Here is an announcement from Kangana Ranaut

https://www.news18.com/news/movies/kang ... 55543.html
Actor Kangana Ranaut, who advocated the destruction of Pakistan after the Pulwama attack, has suggested Indian films could be stopped from releasing in the neighbouring country in future.

The actor, in the eye of the proverbial storm for her controversial remarks after the February 14 attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama in which 40 soldiers were killed, also indicated that releasing Indian films in Pakistan is not a "significant statement".

Kangana's film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi opened in Pakistani theatres on January 25, the same day it released in India.

Asked about the movie's release in the neighbouring country, the actor told reporters Sunday night, "When a film is distributed, they have the digital copy. (But) You can stop future releases."

"To get it back from them, we will have to send the army, which we had sent by air. But they didn't get my DCP (sic) back," she quipped in an apparent reference to Indian Air Force's air strike on a Jaish-e-Mohammad terror camp in Balakot in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on February 26.

Kangana had also come down heavily on actor Shabana Azmi and lyricist Javed Akhtar, who cancelled their trip to Karachi for a tribute to Kaifi Azmi, and questioned their decision to organise the event "in the first place when Pakistani artistes have been banned after Uri attacks".

She also said she would take the same route with the films she produces in future, adding "It's not that it (Pakistan) is a very big territory. It's almost insignificant".

Questioned on her remarks on Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar, the actor said the film's release in Pakistan was in accordance with the distribution and trade network and she had no say in the matter.

"The distribution and the trade was going like that... Obviously, I am not the minister in-charge of the trade of how things are happening in the country. But if you ask me, the sentiment of the country is very important, of the jawan families.

"Is it (not releasing Indian films in Pakistan) significant statement? No. These are just small steps. But if that's all we can do, we should."

In the wake of Pulwama attack, the makers of films such as Total Dhamaal, Luka Chuppi, Arjun Patiala, Notebook and Kabir Singh announced they would not be screening their movies the neighbouring country.

Following the Balakot air strike, Pakistan government called for a ban on Indian content, including films and "made-in-India advertisements" in the country.
Bakistanis can have Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar and Kejriwal.

.............{Rest Snipped}...............

After the high-altitude dogfight on February 27, parts of an AIM-120C advanced medium-range air-to-air missile (Amraam), which is only carried by F-16s in Pakistan’s combat fleet, was recovered from east of Rajouri in J&K. With a hat tip to A Gupta and R Gosain.

Claim of the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan that contract number of AMRAAM shown by India was actually from a lot supplied to the Republic of China, stands debunked.

Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF) says that claims of the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan that the contract number of the AMRAAM missile that was shown by India does not match identification number of AMRAAM’s acquired by the Republic of China:
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) - A missile shown in a picture by India as having been fired by Pakistan using its F-16 fighter jets in a surprise attack this week actually belonged to Taiwan, according to Pakistani media reports, but the island nation’s Air Force said the identification numbers did not match. .................................

However, on Thursday, the Pakistani publication The Express Tribune reported the wreckage could have been part of a missile sold by the U.S. to Taiwan. The reporters tracked the identification numbers shown in the picture, AIM-120C-5 AMRAAM, to a U.S. Department of Defense list naming the missile as part of a US$2.38-million arms deal with Taiwan.

“How the wreckage of a missile sold to Taiwan ended up in the hands of an Indian military air vice marshal is something only New Delhi can explain,” The Express Tribune said.

The Air Force in Taipei said Friday afternoon that after checking the information, it had concluded that the identification numbers shown did not match any of its missiles, and were not compatible with any weapons systems in its possession, the Central News Agency reported. ..........

PTI leaders slam provincial minister Chohan for anti-Hindu remarks News Desk

Leaders of the ruling party slammed Punjab’s information minister – also from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) – for passing derogatory remarks against the country’s Hindu population with Finance Minister Asad Umar reminding the minister that “Hindus are as much a part of the fabric of the nation” as he is.

Earlier in the day, Punjab’s Minister for Information and Culture Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, while addressing a press conference had passed derogatory remarks against the country’s Hindu community while criticising India, drawing the ire of political leaders.

An oasis of Muslim Hindu tolerance

“You cow urine-drinking people, listen to me,” Chohan had said during the press conference. “We are Muslims and we have the flag of Hazrat Ali (RA) and Hazrat Umar (RA)’s bravery. You don’t have that flag.” He further said “idol-worshippers” shouldn’t operate under the delusion that they are better than Pakistan.

In a first, Pakistan appoints Hindu woman as civil judge

The country’s finance minister slammed Chohan and reminded him that, “Quaid-e-Azam’s whole struggle was for a country free of discrimination”. Balderdash, Coddleswop and Piffle-paffle!

Human Rights Minister, Shireen Mazari also criticised her colleague and said: “Our Hindu citizens have given sacrifices for their country … we cannot condone any form of bigotry or spread of religious hatred.”

Special Assistant to the PM Imran Khan, Naeemul Haque, said the party will be taking strict action against the minister and “nonsense” will not be tolerated from a senior member of the government or from anyone else.

According to the Pakistan Hindu Council, the Hindu community constitutes around four per cent of the country’s population. Me thinks the Hindu Population is about Two Percent as - I believe - the Muslim Population of Terroristan is about 97% MUSLIM!
