Terror funding case: ED looks at role of Pakistan High Commission in disbursing funds
..worth over Rs 1 crore belonging to Kashmiri businessman Zahoor Ahmad Shah Watali in connection with its money laundering probe into allegations of terror funding through Hurriyat leaders, the agency is likely to attach more properties worth Rs 6 crore in the days to come.

The agency, in its probe, has found that Kashmiri separatists have allegedly received at least Rs 7 crore from across the border to fund unrest in India. Identifying the money as proceeds of crime, the ED has alleged that the funds were disbursed by conduits and the Pakistan High Commission in India. The agency has claimed this was substantiated through a document seized during searches at the residence of Ghulam Mohammad Bhatt, who worked as the cashier-cum-accountant with Watali... <snip>

I think other operations were also on going post-balakot and India had a free run after it downed F-16. For all practical reasons, India might chose not to disclose it and talk about it at right moment.
Airspace closing may have been best option to keep all planes away from several places. See our pooch b4 on why Reuters could not get a drone to fly over the Undamaged Roach Motel and verify that Indians bombed only trees. Maybe it occurred to someone that a quick pass in a small aircraft, even standing off 5 miles, would be enough for someone with a good zoom lens. Hence total ban.
Maybe some of the other locations have simply not been mentioned anywhere at all? If you were NaMo and your Armed Forces, given a free hand, went and trashed 3 major PA bases and 2 PAF bases, and a submarine dry-dock, and a cantonoment, would YOU announce it? Not likely: you would crow about the terrorist roach motel, but not these.
Would the PA/PAF/PN? :rotfl:

See those Bravery Awards: quite a few for "cross-border events" that were never announced.

1. Pak ground forces are behaving as if in sheer terror (no pun intended).
a) Perhaps there have been unannounced strikes in Balochistan (where PA was reported to be grabbing any vehicle, to get away eastwards,

b) SSG are rumored to be "not" revolting,

c) Sialkot cantonment tanks rushing out in unprepared state, some breaking down immediately, crews not dressed in regular uniforms, breaking up the roads outside in their desperate hurry.

d) Plus Internet ban and general comm ban in POK (incl. northern areas) and Khyber-Pakhtoonwa.

2. PN reported to be staying well offshore (maybe close to shore where they can swim if needed: HELLOO!! Sharks??? ).

3. NOW add the airspace closure and a very interesting picture begins to form. Past airspace closures have been to hide mass exodus of PA aphsars who were training "Taliban" in Afghanistan, coinciding with/preceding 9/11 attacks in US. (planes took off in the afternoon of 9/11, US time from Afghanistan, which means they had arrived there from TSP hours before. Now count back to when the aphsars were ordered out. and when the planes were ordered to go in to pick them up, and it comes clear WHO KNEW about 9/11 as early as 9/09.

So what is happening now? Plans for some massive attack guaranteed to bring massive retaliation against PA/PN?

Please watch for any more snippets.

Just think: If Brother Of Masood and Hafiz have both been pest-e-sha'eeded, and so have some senior PA types, plus son of PAF Air Marshal beaten to death, things may be dim for Dimran. Question is WHICH colonels and mullahs emerge from the rat race.

NDTV news release. They have been granted access to AF sat imagery which clearly shows damage. One structure from pre strikes apparently doesn't exist at all

Interesting point indian origin sat imagery for BDA was insufficient and inconclusive due to cloud cover. A friendly country provided these images

Not posting link but can be googled

Paks are keeping beyond the 10KM no fly zone. Looks like ROE has been changed to hit anything flying within the 10KM zone, like the UAV.

I agree with rudradev that the conversation has already changed in ways that might never become public or explicit.

Just one small example - the next time an American diplomat spouts pious sounding nonsense with Indian interlocutors, the diplomatically couched response will be: stop enabling nuclear blackmail with your arms sales to regimes that support terrorists.

I think they ll wait for the indian election results . If Modi comes back which seems very likely than I don't think any jernail or kernail would want to officially seen as pakee dictator .But their stupidity never ceases to amaze us. they will most likely block it.

this time the indian response must be to destroy a terrorist site co-located on or near a CPEC project, preferably in northern areas.

costs need to be imposed on the chinese and their CPEC sabotaged by all means. any "freedom fighters" found lurking around in baltistan gilgit region can be empowered against the chinese colonization of their land.

^ Chinese may not change stance on Masood Azar.

It is valuable pain point against India, which they can use to keep us on backfoot, maybe even negotiate for concessions such as Border, trade, market access, gag Dalai Lama, etc.

Also doesn't hurt their standing among Pakis.

More importantly, India won't do anything against this Chinese stance.

Diplomatic protests to EU and Until won't cut it.

It's not that China is not vulnerable.

As Hollywood movie currently playing on UBCN says " Find his pressure points , then you squeeze. "

My CT abt why India not doing this is because FM is Sushma Swaraj, who will put her personal career as higher priority.

As Karan M said, not only did NaMo not go hammer and tongs against system, he sadly allowed (Nagpur Agreement) inept people in Finance, Defence, External Affairs and Home.

Also, as has been done in the past, a dogfight with 1960 era jet downing a Modern American Fighter (bravery against enormous odds in face of the enemy) is richly deserving of Maha Vir Chakra.

So, Shout out for MVC for Wing Commander Abhinandan.

IMO, this is fine and to be expected. If China blocks this, then it demonstrates that India did everything possible for a diplomatic solution and very sadly it didn’t work out.

So, the only way for India to defend herself is military. So, China blocking this would be fait-accompli for more attacks against terrorist targets within Pakistan.

For this reason, I expect China to not block this.

This could be a lifafa piece (paid for in Remninbi) but it claims that China thus far opposed blacklisting Masood Azhar because they were afraid that CPEC might become a target for JeM if they didn't :(( :(( Poor things.

Also states that they are now "actively considering" supporting the recent move by France, US, UK, and Russia to blacklist Masood Azhar at the UNSC. Besides providing all kinds of excuses for China's intransigence until now.

Also claims that ETIM has formed links with, of all groups, Lashkar-e-Tayyiba. LeT is the most Sarkari of the Sarkari Tanzeems. No chance at all that they'd collaborate with a group that's rebelling against Beijing, whose largesse is feeding the jernails that Hafiz Saeed answers to.

Updates from Tuesday (March 12) and Wednesday (March 13)
Pakistan, which claims to have de-escalated tensions with India, has once again provoked the Indian forces by sending two fighter jets close to the line of control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch sector on Tuesday night.

Following the incident, India’s air defence system has been put on high alert. The Pakistani jets not only came close to the Indian air space, but also went supersonic near the LoC, causing a loud noise due to sonic boom. The blast-like sound also created panic among the locals. Sonic booms caused by large supersonic aircraft can be particularly loud and startling and may cause minor damage to some structures.

According to senior officials, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jets were caught on Indian radars and preventive measures were taken. As the jets remained within Pakistani-controlled territory, they were not shot down.

On Wednesday, the cross-LoC trade was suspended after the Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire along the LoC by resorting to unprovoked mortar-shelling and firing with small arms in Poonch.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has already kept all the air stations and important installations on Passive Air Defence Mode (PADM). The IAF has also cancelled leave permits of its officers.

The Army and IAF have issued classified directions to all stations, particularly active flying stations, base repair depots, and equipment depots, to increase their efforts to make spares available at a very short notice to meet war requirements.

I like khan logic. MA being thrown under the bus may have been communicated to Pakis by the Chinese. Could be the reason for their "he is very sick" claim. They can drag this along for a couple of months (LS 2019) and either quietly stop talking about him (if Modi loses) or declare him dead (if Modi wins)

They should have been shot down with SAMs because PoK is Indian territory that is illegally occupied.

^ Deciphering the report, seems like the two Paki planes came near LOC in Poonch Sector, "preventive measures were taken" i.e. SAMs locked on... the Pakis detected lock-on and immediately hightailed it for home at supersonic speed (hence the booms).

Seems the PAF hasn't learned its lesson and may try something stupid again soon. They're probing for whether our SAMs are activated in different areas (normally kept off because of the potential threat to commercial air traffic).

That said I do not think the point of ingress will be Poonch. The probing by PAF was followed the next day by a lame barrage of mortar and small-arms fire by the TSPA in Poonch... probably trying to doubly convince us that this is where they're planning to strike. Classic diversion.

for now to keep modi quiet till may23 they give him a fake 'victory' by not blocking MA's tagging.
he is anyway safe in ISI custody and not known to visit outside TSP.
his assets are liquid shadow asset, out of reach of international financial system, PA can compense him via its control of the pak white and black economy

so its not a big deal whether tagged or not. he needs to be put down with a targeted missile attack.

After Balakot there must be a major counterintelligence house-cleaning going on in Pakistan. Our assets will have to lie low for a bit... may be difficult to identify the ISI safe house where MA is being sheltered right now. I hope it happens eventually, anyway.

Regarding the prolonged closure of Pakistani airspace. Do the Pakis think that maybe India collected a lot of intel on Jaba Top using some sort of sniffers housed in what appeared to be innocuous commercial aircraft? Hence wanted to avoid our snooping in that way while they moved assets around. Paranoid reaction, but then they are Pakis.

Putting him on the list is the first step.

Next step will be UN team getting a visa to interview him. It didn’t happen for Hafiz Sayeed and it won’t happen this time also. This will be very sad and will show the limits of diplomacy.

So since diplomacy doesn’t work, the only way forward will be military.

As long as Pakistan doesn’t want to take irreversible steps to dismantle terror groups, then diplomacy will fail. The purpose of all this is for India to say “we gave diplomacy a chance now let us do what we have to do to protect ourself from terror”.

That way, if when there is another escalation, and the Bakis run to the U.N., they will he told, all you have to do is submit to India’s latest demand that they just rejected.

This takes time, but if India doesn’t do this, then there will be UN sanctions against India.

It was China's choice, and despite India/US/UK/France trying to put some sense into it, it, IMO it made an unwise choice, and one will see the results in near future..

Not only its BRI will be in much deeper trouble..and cost (additional security) of CPEC will rise but I also see Apple, M/S, Google, which have big footprint in China (manufacturing).. will be effected. Just wait for a year or so. ..

Having a label as supporter of terror is not a nice thing in these days..and price China paying to please Pak will not be worth it. We will see.

(To be honest, from what I know, till recently indications were that China will not object-- something happened in last few days - perhaps terrorist threat to Chinese workers in Pak was too much and blackmail worked)
