Actually good that Naidu got rid of dead weight of Modi in Andhra Pradesh, modi an co are going to lose deposits there, Modi’s treatment of non-BJP stsates has been bad and today no party in AP dares to touch Modi and co with a long stick.
Industries in the neighboring states of MAH, KAR and TN will be badly affected by the demanded concessions that are being claimed by the naidu.

naidu had betrayed ABA earlier and backstabbed him while garnering huge and largely unaccounted funds from the center. Where did that money go??

Let naidu provide the accounts first for all the money that this central govt gave him. KAR, MAH and TN care two hoots for telugu politics and will safeguard their own turfs, no matter what it does to naidu. After the 14 finance commission, this is the best possible deal for him. naidu has been trying hard to poach industries from TN and KAR and MAH so he has become unwelcome in all these states.

This BJP is not so weak or so naive to take anything that naidu says at face value. naidu is the supplicant here and not the other way around as naidu has deluded himself into thinking. Anyway, the BJP is not expecting anything from AP, the voter dynamics there are against everything that the BJP stands for anyway. This very same voter dynamics was what forced the congis to split the state under advice from proselytizing foreigners, all of whom were very anxious to gain a major foothold in the new state.

naidu did not give seats to the BJP during the last elections because he was sure that he would become a kingmaker and control modi. naidu needs psychiatric examination and long term mental care. He insulted Modi during their very first meeting because he foolishly believed in the chaiwala hype and projected himself being "senior" to Modi, as well as political royalty and kept boasting about his alleged superior IT knowledge.

now this naidu guy is screwed and far from home too and he only has himself to blame for entering the battlefield without even a clue as to his opponent's capabilities.

naidu started out in politics by stabbing his own father in law in the back. naidu still does not have the brains to realize that he is up against Modi, the king cobra of Indian politics.

Anyone know why we aren't conducting simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in J&K even though we are holding simultaneous elections in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim? What is the logic or design behind this move?

naidu's son has now entered politics.

naidu has no principles , will work with whatever or whoever gives him power.

instead of his perennial refrain for a 'special pkg' why cant he leverage the huge telugu diaspora and get a few things done?
if he is really that good, the diaspora would believe his call to action. diaspora too instead of making noise can invest in their home state.
keralites who made it big in gulf and elsewhere atleast have propped up the realty and hospitality sector in their state to world class levels.

most of the arid poor districts went to telengana, while AP inherited the lush coastal tracts rich in agri and fishery, most of the educationally forward towns and most of the water resources. he has a good rail network.

http://idrw.org/why-imran-khan-is-waiti ... ore-196603

though from idrw., the authors opinion is valid

"While Indian media doesn’t think it necessary for them to ask few questions to Prime Minister aspirant Rahul Gandhi on his Kashmir or Pakistan policy in any of his press conferences what’s even more strange is that Rahul Gandhi is not openly talking about Pakistan in his elections rallies nor his action plan on how he plans to tackle Pakistan on terrorism nor how he plans to tackle terror attacks in Kashmir . While Chokidar chor hai, Rafale, Anil Ambani seems to be favorite keywords of the Prime Minister aspirant Rahul Gandhi in his election rallies but his golden silence on Pakistan and how he plans to improve security scenario in the country is not only is strange but also hints at a wide outsourcing of his policies to regular peacemakers who might restart Aman ki Asha brigade once he assumes seat in PMO. 10 years of Manmohan Singh government was an era which was a security nightmare for the country if we only limit the subject only to the security of the country. 26/11 attacks in Mumbai went unpunished, Terrorists like handlers who planned Pathankot attack on Indian Air Force base were left out of jail as peace initiative, Aman ki Asha program was launched without any results , Defence Minister A.K. Anthony who was also called as Saint Anthony not only ensured he never moved any file for procurement of any major arms but was also in favor of settling Siachen and Sir Creek dispute as per conditions set by Pakistan. Congress veteran ministers in the past have said in Pakistan that solutions to Kashmir and other disputes will be found once they are back in power and why Imran Kahn is counting on regime change in India to provide some breather for his government back home which is near bankruptcy and moving towards total isolation in the International stage. Why certain Congress minister from Punjab goes gaga over his friendship with Pakistan PM that he cannot see sufferings of his fellow Indians who are suffering from terrorism exported by this country? .

Rahul Gandhi’s economist advisor says high inflation is good for economy, NYAY scheme will be funded by high taxes and inflation

Rahul Gandhi’s economist advisor says high inflation is good for economy, NYAY scheme will be funded by high taxes and inflation

MARCH 29, 2019

As the main election promise for Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party has announced a minimum income guarantee scheme, the Nyuntam Aay Yojana (NYAY). According to this scheme, 20% poorest people in the country of 5 crore families will be paid Rs 72,000 per year. This means an outgo of Rs 3,60,000 crore per year, but the party didn’t provide details of how they propose to fund this massive scheme.

Now noted economist Abhijit Banerjee, who advised the Congress party on the formulation of the scheme, has made some startling revelations about the thinking behind the scheme. In an interview with Times Now, Banerjee said that the NYAY will have to funded by new taxes. He said that at present India’s fiscal deficit is so large that the scheme is simply not sustainable without raising taxes.

When asked whether the NYAY will have to be funded by a tax or a series of taxes, Banerjee replied, “that is correct”. He also said that India will have to have new fiscal resources, saying that the country is at present “undertaxed”. He said that India needs to desperately raise taxes irrespective of the NYAY scheme. He also talked about expanding the tax base.

When asked whether the scheme will be viable without increasing taxes, Banerjee tried to avoid the question saying that the economy itself is not viable without increasing taxes. Nothing is viable without raising taxes, he emphasised, implying that the minimum income guarantee scheme is also not viable without increasing taxes.

We're running a deficit which is so large that we have one of the world's highest interest rates now. This is simply not sustainable. It's not good for the economy. We need to do something about it: Abhijit Banerjee, Economist (Nyay Advisor) to @RShivshankar | #NyayKaSach

8:04 PM - Mar 29, 2019
Banerjee also said that India has been hurt by low inflation during the NDA government, and budgets of NDA government are not viable. He said that stopping the “inflation tax” by the NDA government has hurt the economy badly. He said that during UPA government, although the interests were high, due to the use of “inflation tax” by the government, the share of government debt in GDP was falling. According to Banerjee, now that the NDA government is not using the “inflation tax”, it has meant there are few sources of revenue for the government.

Nothing’s viable without raising taxes: Abhijit Banerjee, Economist (NYAY Advisor) while speaking to @RShivshankar | #NyayKaSach

8:05 PM - Mar 29, 2019

Abhijit Banerjee also said that the implementation of NYAY will mean that lots of current welfare programs will have to be scrapped. He said that many of the current schemes have no purpose, and nobody knows what their purposes are, and they will be replaced by NYAY. He said that subsidies provided for fertilizer, power, water etc are distortionary subsidies, and they need to go. Banerjee said that these subsidies are not good for the economy, they are not good for efficiency.

From the comments of economist Abhijeet Banerjee, it is clear that for the Congress scheme to be implemented, the government will have to increase taxes, raise inflation, and scrap existing welfare schemes, something which Congress party is not telling the people while talking about it.

lets make sure this raise taxes mantra gets widely publicized quoting from Dr Banerjees timeline ... this should esp be made known to those who revel in bashing the current govt in social media.

let them know higher taxes are coming from their leader to fund his legions. they will have to pay too, not just 'bhakts' :D

The percapita income of Bihar is 48,000 Re. The percapita of Bihar, UP, West Bengal are all much lower than the proposed 144,000 that RG wants to give every body. This is a massive transfer of wealth from South India to North India, from Hindus to Muslims. But it's SI that will totally blank out BJP. This issue needs to be told to SI without appearing as anti NI.

Similary, NI needs to be convinced that the NYAY scheme is a jumla and it will never be fulfilled. Look at MP, RJ, KA where none of the free money and loan waiver promises are being implemented.

It would be nice if you stay on once point than swinging around wildly, If you are happy with Modi, that is good, but please have some maturity and balance please.

Who promised the special category status, was it not BJP, and just not Special category status, ut other Sops as well. Naidu was no where in the picture then.

Most people have less idea on the division of AP and the emotions of the people connected with that, it is good that Naidu calmed the tempers for the last few years - lot of people feared Punjab like situation if not handled properly.

Now Amit shah and Modi laugh when money for capital is asked for? Forget about Naidu, is there any party in AP that can dare to support Modi after what he did. Especially when Naidu was in the NDA, funds were withheld, as it is not a BJP state and their stakes are less. Almost everything that was promised was not done.

Naidu is not stupid to abandon Modi if he did the work and not foolish enough to align if so much opposition exists against him. More than 95% of the people of Andhra are against Modi, so unless one wants to brand them as back stabers or anti national, or not sacrificing themselves for the sake of the nation, it is silly to think that Naidu caused that. No political party dares to touch Modi in this election from AP.

Seems like anything critical of Modi stirs almost school boy emotions here on the forum, and people start wild allegations and talk all over the place to justify and defend, please keep cool as I overall support Modi to be PM, but am a much lesser shade of saffron.

As for the King Cobra comment, keep that for yourself, it was pretty clear in Karnataka elections on what Modi and Amit shah are, nothing but political opportunists who would use what ever in their reach to stay in power. BJP stayed in power as a interim govt for less than 5 days and there were Income tax and CBI raids on congress Candidates, wonder how that is possible? Even the corrupt congress never did that. Just find out who the governor of Karnataka was and what his relationship to Modi is.

Sings, Respect your posts and opinions, but such comments without any research and knowledge is uncalled for.

What Naidu has done irrespective of Modi is commendable, only state where % of agriculture sector went up in the country, and in each case he did a decent job in bringing some industries or bringing NRI’s He coined the term NRTs and using the money to build some infra in the state.

If you want I can post many links on the division or what was inherited by Andhra and why funds were being asked by Andhra. It is not fair to criticize Andhra people for no fault of theirs and what ever was promised in the parliament is not delivered, then where would they go? Is this not a democracy, or is this a dictatorship where people do not matter as we are only Interested in Modi and his accomplishments and antics. To be fair Naidu, with some help with NDA in the beginning did a good job in development to bring new companies and some water projects into the state. It should be a case study on how to achieve development with minimum to low cost.

Do not want to derail this thread into discussion on AP only, as I see people already commenting like Your Naidu and my Modi, which does not help

Whats with your unfiltered BS above accompanied by the second weaseling act of avoiding to give any credible facts or evidence on how Modi "discriminated" against Andhra?
I asked you to prove it with facts in my last post but i guess allegations without evidence against "big bad" Modi flow down your tongue rather glibly hain ji?
Speaking of special status,
It is your own back stabber "lokesh pitha" CBN who quantified(employing the AP bureaucrats) the worth of 10 year special status to AP to be 17500 Crores and demanded the same from the center in lieu of the Special status. This was sound as Special status was no longer constitutionally tenable as per the Finance Commission - a key Constitutionally mandated Federal body which is the keystone of India's Federal structure (the same Federal structure of "Federal structure is in threat" BS 24x7 spewed by your CBN). No central govt in its right mind will give special status to AP now as long as this recommendation of Finance commission stands. No GOI can afford to undermine the Federal Structure of this Nation at it roots by disregarding the recommendations of Finance Commission regarding the allocation of central resources amongst the states. But guess such simple logic fly above the heads of functionally illiterate yellow news consumers of Andhra hain ji?
Image

95% percent people of Andhra are against Modi hain ji?

What about the sellout crowd NaMo drew in his rally in Guntur where the smallish ground overflowed unable to accommodate more than 40000 people who trekked to his rally in the noon heat from the surrounding villages?
Isn't Guntur the pocket borough of your leader lokesh pita Chandrababu who shaken by Modi's rally in his political backyard Guntur immediately booked three train loads of TDP black shirts to go to Delhi just to claim that a fitting reply has been given to Modi's tremendously successful rally to his similarly shaken karyakartas in the region?

You may be trained to give a pavlovian howls of agreement to the BS spouted by your leader's yellow media but please to excuse the crowd here in BRF from your listless paeans for your leader CBN.
BJP doesnt even have one news channel espousing its viewpoint like the scores of TDP money bag funded channels littering the telugu broadcast news landscape - but what BJP has is facts and the perceptible people of Andhra & this Nation - i challenge you to contest any substantial fact or claim listed in below Amit Shah's open letter to Andhra people instead of again weaseling away like you did with my last post.
Speaking of my last post, how long did your leader "lokesh pitha" CBN marinate his head in a septic tank to make the claim that the PM of this nation masterminded the attack that killed 44 Jawans in Pulwama?
AN OPEN LETTER TO PEOPLE OF ANDHRA PRADESH - Amit Shah

DESPERATE HISTRIONICS BY TDP LEADER TO MISLEAD PEOPLE OF ANDHRA PRADESH

My Dear People of Andhra Pradesh,

The Telugu Desam leader and AP Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu is back to theatrics and histrionics. His desperation for grabbing headlines is understandable as he is aware that his political fortunes are declining rapidly.

Shri Naidu knows that he has lost complete credibility among the people of Andhra Pradesh and as a result is announcing a series of sops to woo different sections. Sensing defeat in the coming elections, he has made multiple U-turns and is carrying on a malicious propaganda against the Centre and BJP leadership to divert people’s attention from his failures. He is going too far by personally attacking Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, and even did not have the courtesy to receive the Hon’ble Prime Minister when he came to the state.

However, the enlightened and politically conscious people will see through his desperation to retain power. They will teach a befitting lesson to him in the coming elections for having joined hands with the Congress, which has bifurcated the state in a unilateral, hasty and unscientific manner, ignoring the interests of the state. People will always remember that Congress had dethroned former Chief Minister, Shri N T Rama Rao in a most undemocratic manner in 1984.

In his lust for power, the TDP leader has destroyed the very anti-Congress foundation on which the party was built by its founder, Shri N T Rama Rao. Congress betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh while dividing the state and now TDP leader wants to work for bringing back Congress to power. His actions smack of political opportunism.

He hailed the special package announced by the NDA government on the floor of the Assembly, in party meetings, public forums and press conferences, and even declared that Special Category Status was not a panacea and did not help states with such status to develop. At that time other parties demanded Special Category Status, he called them names arrested many people agitating for such status. However, he made a complete U-turn and is today raising this issue himself. Unnerved by the prospect of TDP facing an uncertain electoral future, he is resorting to cheap gimmicks, distorting facts and misleading the people of Andhra Pradesh by making patently false accusations against the BJP-led NDA government and Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.

It should be noted that Congress never bothered about the aspirations of the people of Telangana, coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh state.

Had there been even an iota of sincerity towards the people of Andhra Pradesh, UPA would have included the provision of ‘Special Category Status’ in AP Reorganization Act. Similarly, why did it not facilitate speedier implementation of Polavaram project by transferring the seven mandals located in Khammam district to Andhra Pradesh? Why did it not promulgate an ordinance in this regard? Let Shri Naidu and the Congress answer the above questions before accusing anybody. Till then, they have no moral right to criticize the Central Government.

Unlike UPA, the Modi Government in its very first cabinet meeting in May 2014 had approved an ordinance for transfer of in 222 villages in seven mandals in two districts to pave way for the execution of the Polavaram project. Shri Naidu falsely, as is his typical habit, falsely claims credit for what the Central Government has done solely on its own initiative. Also the Polavaram Ordinance Bill was passed in the first Parliament session after NDA assumed power. Not only that, Polavaram was declared as a national project and the execution of the project was handed over to AP Government at the request of Shri Chandrababu Naidu, which was unprecedented. These actions spoke more loudly than words about the sincerity of NDA government towards people of Andhra Pradesh.

As committed in the Act, Polavaram irrigation project has been declared as National Project. Further, it has been decided to provide 100% of the remaining cost of Irrigation Component of the project for the period starting from 1.4.2014, to the extent of the Cost of Irrigation Component on that date and till date Rs. 6,764.70 crores has been released.

Shri Naidu is probably under an illusion that people will believe whatever he alleges with regard to the fulfilment of the provisions contained in the AP Reorganization Act. In fact, the Modi Government has not only implemented most of the assurances in a record time, but also walked an extra mile to fast-track the progress of Andhra Pradesh. It has accorded highest priority to handholding Andhra Pradesh.

As his wont, Shri Naidu indulged in political skulduggery, back-stabbed his allies and violated the principles of coalition dharma. Ever since he had snapped ties with NDA for his own political survival, he has been letting loose a deluge of disinformation against the NDA government. In a bid to cover up his own failures and inability to implement the populist promises made by him to the people, he has been blaming the Centre without any rhyme or reason. It is pertinent to mention here that at a meeting of the NDA in 2017, Shri Naidu himself took the lead and moved the resolution that the coalition should fight the next elections in 2019 under the leadership of Shri Modi by highlighting the development agenda of the NDA.

We are aware that Shri Chandrababu Naidu has Congress blood in him. But we never expected that he will go to the extent of even surpassing the Congress in speaking lies and untruths and in carrying a hate campaign against the Central Government, the Prime Minister and the BJP.

We were particularly shocked at the manner in which he started spreading canards to justify his U-turn after having realized that he was bound to lose the upcoming elections as he had failed to keep up promises.

What is even more shocking is the manner in which Shri Naidu is twisting facts about assistance provided by the Centre to the Andhra Pradesh government. On many occasions, he had endorsed the special package announced by the Centre in lieu of special category status.

I would like to recall that Shri Naidu that had hailed the special package on the floor of the assembly on Mar 16, 2017 and said that every benefit that would have come under SCS to the state, would accrue through the special economic package.

In fact, the Andhra Pradesh Assembly had passed a resolution thanking the Central Government for approving a special economic package for the state.

At that time, Shri Naidu had also called a meeting of senior leaders of his party and hailed the benefits of the special package and categorically stated that special category status was not a panacea. He reiterated the same in the Assembly also.

In fact, he had declared that special package was better than special status and also ridiculed his political opponents by asking what was the present status of the states which were given special status for the past many years and why did they not develop?

The TDP leader also dismissed the claims of other parties that special category status would entail special tax incentives to the state and went to the extent of challenging them to prove their claim.

Now with the support of a section of willing media, he has been indulging in false propaganda at all forums and virtually made the TDP subservient to the Congress. Let me also remind all Telugu people of Andhra Pradesh that in the past Shri Naidu had lambasted the Congress President, Shri Rahul Gandhi for visiting Andhra Pradesh and questioned the purpose of his visit.

Apparently, panic has set in now and the TDP leader is scared that his omissions and commissions would be exposed. That’s why, he is going to the extent of accepting the leadership of the Congress Party which has ruled and ruined the country, compromised the integrity of every institution and is neck-deep in scams and scandals.

The TDP leader joined hands with a party which had imposed Emergency and had dismissed his father-in-law—the popularly elected Telugu Desam founder and former Chief Minister, Shri N T Rama Rao in 1984.

I appeal to the enlightened Telugu people to see the evil designs of the Telugu Desam leadership which is burying the basic principles on which Telugu Desam was founded.

Although the AP Reorganization Act provided a window period of 10 years for implementing various provisions, the NDA government not only speedily sanctioned a record number of educational, developmental and other infrastructure-related projects, but also released funds for executing them. Never in the history of independent India have so many projects been sanctioned in such short span of time to a single state by the Centre. This fact in itself speaks volumes about the commitment and sincerity of the NDA government towards developing Andhra Pradesh.

As per Section 93 of AP Reorganization Act, the Central Government is committed to all necessary measures as enumerated in the 13th Schedule for the progress and sustainable development of successor states within a period of 10 years.

Of the 11 new educational institutions under the Act’s 13th Schedule (Section 93), as many as ten institutions have started functioning much ahead of the stipulated schedule. A Tribal University is also coming up. The teninstitutions are IIT, NIT, IIM, IISER, IIIT, AIIMS, Central University, Petroleum University, Agricultural University, and National Institute of Disaster Management NIDM

As regards eight infrastructure projects, Government of India had to “examine” the “feasibility” of six projects within six months from the appointed date and initiate action on two others within 10 years. Following feasibility studies, action has been initiated on five projects.Despite non viability of the three other projects the government of India is exploring other alternatives.

A greenfield petrochemical complex is proposed to be established at Kakinada by HPCL-GAIL. The Central Public Sector Enterprises have proposed to invest more than a lakh crore in Andhra Pradesh. These includeGreenfield petrochemical complex at an estimated cost of Rs. 39,145 crore. GAIL and HPCL have already signed an MoU with AP Government in this regard.

The Government has decided to expeditiously take up the Vizag-Chennai industrial corridor. In the very first phase, 800-kilometer long Vizag-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) segment of East Coast Economic Corridor was taken up. ADB approved US $ 631 million (loans and grants) for VCIC and released US $ 370 million as the first tranche. Krishnapatnam-Chennai-Bengaluru growth corridor was sanctioned.

Apart from upgrading Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati airports to International airports, the night landing facility at Rajahmundry Airport was made operational and the runway expansion is going on with great speed. In Kadapa Airport, the runway was expanded and a new Terminal Building was inaugurated.

Similarly, rapid rail and road connectivity from the new capital of the successor state of Andhra Pradesh to Hyderabad and other important cities of Andhra Pradesh is being taken up. NHAI has agreed to Rs. 20,000 crores for a 384 km Anantapur-Amaravati expressway and Rs. 19,700 crores for outer ring road to capital town of Amaravati. The revival of Buckingham Canal at a cost of Rs. 7,015 crores is another major project to improve inland water transport facilities. Road and inland transport projects worth more than Rs. 1 lakh crores have been approved. Later, Shri Naidu publicly thanked the Centre for the same.

For better Rail connectivity in the region, project worth Rs. 50,000 crores have been sanctioned, which are at various stages of execution. 2,584 km of railway lines are being doubled with an outlay of Rs. 23,137 crores. 2,213 km of new lines are being laid at a cost of 20,301 crores. 15 new projects have been sanctioned with an outlay of Rs. 26,403 crores. The work of new line between Vijayawada and Guntur via Amaravati has been sanctioned in 2017-18 at a cost of Rs. 2,679.59 crores which provides connectivity to the new capital city, Amaravati. The other main projects include a 309 km long new line Nadikude-Srikalahasti at a cost of Rs. 2,289 Cr, Guntakal-Guntur (401 km) doubling project with electrification at a cost of Rs. 3,631 Cr. AP Express, Super-fast daily train Visakhapatnam-Delhi,Humsafar Non-Daily Express trains Vijayawada-Howrah and Tirupati-Jammutawi are running.

Rs. 2,500 crores assistance for Capital City, for development of essential infrastructure etc has been provided. A record number of houses for the poor were sanctioned – the highest ever for any state -11.29lakh houses under the PMAY-Urban programme. Also four Smart Cities and several projects under AMRUT scheme for development of urban infrastructure were sanctioned. Amaravati has been included under Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) for holistic development.

Rs. 1,050 crores development grant for 7 backward districts of the state covering Rayalaseema and North Coastal Region has been provided.

The Centre also notified tax incentives in seven backward districts under section 32(1)(iia) and section 32AD of the Income-Tax Act.

Accordingly, any manufacturing undertaking set up from April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2020 in these districts is eligible for 15% of higher additional depreciation and 15% of investment allowance on the cost of plant and machinery acquired by it during that period.

The Centre also extended support to make Andhra Pradesh surplusin power and ended the chronic power shortage and power cuts that plagued the state. This was made possible due to the launch of ‘Power for All’ and Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana (at a benefit of Rs. 4,400 crore). The Government also sanctionedSolar Parks and Ultra Mega Solar Power Project at a cost of about Rs. 24,000 crore. 2.2 crores LED bulbs were provided to consumers saving Rs. 1,100 crores for consumers annually. In addition, 23.8 lakh streetlights were replaced with LED streetlights saving taxpayers money by reducing cost.

The Government of India after examining the feasibility reports of Metro Rails for Vishakhapatnam and Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali Metropolitan Urban Development Authority wanted to implement these projects in the quickest possible time. The revised proposals for both the projects are awaited from AP government.

As regards Duggirajupatnam project, it was found to be unviableand the AP government was asked to suggest an alternative site. The state Government has still not come forward with a proposal. In a bid to hoodwink people, Shri Naidu laid the foundation stone as a minor port for Ramayanapatnam project without financial support.

After SAIL had declared the proposal to set up a steel plant at Kadapa as unviable, the Centre constituted a Task Force, which held consultations with the state Government and wanted to take it up under PPP mode with support from both state and Centre. However, Shri Naidu indulged in political one-upmanship and laid foundation stone without financial allocation.

The issue of establishing a new railway zone was studied by a Railways committee and is under examination due to the operational complexities and inter-state issues.

The infrastructure projects will get off the ground soon and get completed even before the stipulated time of 10 years mentioned in the Act.

As regards granting Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh, the Centre has been constrained by the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission, which did not make a distinction between special and general category states for financial support and tax devolution. As a result, the Centre in consultation with the state Government worked out special assistance for AP.

The Central Government has agreed to give a special assistance measure forAndhra Pradesh for five years, which would make up for the additional Central share the state might have received during these years, i.e. 2015-16 to 2019-20, as envisaged in the then Prime Minister’s statement dated 20.2.2014.

This will be in the form of Central Government funding for externally aided projects for Andhra Pradesh. In view of the FRBM limits of the state, the Centre wanted the state Government to create a SPV so that money can be transferred to the SPV. This was conveyed by the Centre to the state government officials during their discussions on February 6–7, 2018. Still the response from the state government is awaited.

In view of the special circumstances in which Andhra Pradesh found itself following the bifurcation, the Central Government went beyond the provisions contained in the Act.

In fact, various Ministries have been requested to give additional and special projects to Andhra Pradesh and more than Rs. 3 lakh crores worth of such projects (along with those mentioned in the AP Reorganization Act 2014) are being implemented in the state. In fact, several projects not mentioned in the AP Reorganization Act were also sanctioned.

The Union Government also went out of its way to approve Special Assistance Measure to Andhra Pradesh by way of special dispensation in funding of Externally Aided Projects (EAP). In an incredibly quick time, several projects were sanctioned under this special assistance. The state did not exploit full potential of the offer, and failed to submit the adequate proposals.

National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) and National Investment Manufacturing Zones (NIMZ) were approved much earlier but these projects could not progress as the needed land is yet to be allocated by state government.

RINL and GoAP signed MOU that envisages investment of around Rs. 38,500 crores to take up various projects at Visakhapatnam with an employment opportunity to around 3,000 people.

A separate High Court for Andhra Pradesh has already started functioning from January this year.

The Centre paved the way for the development of capital city by denotifying forest land in the capital region following a request from the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

A total amount of Rs. 1,37,977.25 crores has been released so far as per recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission. As regards revenue deficit for 2013-14, the Central Government has arrived at an amount of Rs. 4,117.89 crores as Resource Gap for that year and an amount of Rs. 3,979.50 crores has already been released to Andhra Pradesh.

Various Ministries have sanctioned and approved additional projects to Andhra Pradesh with an outlay of more than Rs. 3 lakh crores. This illustrates the extraordinary manner in which the Government of India prioritized Andhra Pradesh in its assistance.

Below are the list of institutions and projects that are sanctioned or approved, and are at various stages ofcompletion, which being taken up as for all round development of Andhra Pradesh in addition to those mentioned in AP Reorganization Act.

National Academy of Customs, Excise and Narcotics at Palasmudram , Anantapur district;

naidu had betrayed ABA earlier and backstabbed him while garnering huge and largely unaccounted funds from the center.

I have been watching arrogant, corrupted, dynastic politico creeps for the longest time now. your friend takes the cake.

I have my views.

what Modi represents and what the others do is out there for all to see.

naidu will never do for India what Modi will. They are wired differently and even toddlers in one guy's family have declared wealth in tens of crores.

About the forum, you are right.

It is mostly believers here. Modi has an intellect that is hugely underrated because of the chaiwalla hype that surrounds him. It is this hype that has gotten folks like raga, naidu, mamta, akilesh, mayawati, pawar, gowda etc very hopeful of shoehorning themselves into the PM's gaddi.

naidu will not do as well as he thinks that he is going to, both in the state as well as the center. when so many dairy farmers drowned in debt after their coop milk ventures were sabotaged, it didn't seem to bother him one bit.

special status for AP means special status for bihar and many others who have been clamoring for it long before AP did. It will ruin industries and jobs the adjacent states and open the floodgates of corruption. naidu has yet to account for thousands of crores in central funds.

after the 14 financial commission, isn't special status is off the table for all states??.

as for modi and shah being opportunistic, who do you think that they are?? some nuns leading cloistered lives?? They haven't finished with KAR yet.

As for the CBI/IT raids, did they not find evidence of laundering in every single raid??

It is no big secret in KAR that the authorities are getting their inputs directly from the congi insiders themselves.

I will do the unthinkable: post without quoting and reproducing verbatim the whole thread as my predecessors in this thread do. So my post will immediately get lost like a bicycle between 18-wheeler trucks.

A while back Shri Naidu's Stanford-ejikated baccha came and gave a polished PPT presentation in Ulan Bator, courtesy of local desi Embajy/Consulate. Seeking bijnej investment in Andhra, mainly in the glittering capital of Amaravati. Promised everyone the usual promises of guvrmands everywhere in India: Free prime real estate, free office space in built-up center of Amaravati, tax holiday for 2 years etc etc. He painted a picture of Andhra that was somewhere above the level imagined for Shangri La and Utopia.

At the end someone asked something about some very trivial amenity.
Saar, Andhra a VERY BOOR Ishtate onlee, what 2 dooo!
This is why I say that there is a huge chasm between Hype and Reality. In Andhra and Telangana the local regimes are very good at this hype, Shri Naidu is better than most of his peers, and a pioneer in this. But elsewhere, the rage of dear Dileepji notwithstanding, the NDA is making the same mistake as in 2004 when they tom-tom the "almost done" status of rural electrification, clean water, the building, maintenance, cleaning and USAGE of pakistans, connectivity etc etc.

Read above re: per capita income in Bihar and WB and UP. And probably in Chattisgarh and Jharkhand and Rajasthan and Ladakh and much of Odisha. I don't deny the achievements of the NDA guvrmand since 2014, but to claim that the job is done is pure Berkeley-Stanford.

67 percent of India live in villages. That is down from 70+% because so many have abandoned their villages and gone to the cities - or distant states - to try and eke out a living and send some rupees back to their families. The Tribal areas are in much worse shape, with the added pestilence of Conversionists.

I think NDA camapaigning needs to be honest and realistic and say: Look how far we came in 5 years: give us another 10, and let's see if we can't revolutionize India.

Also, someone take note of the rupee vs. Dollar. I think the rate has gone from 72 ... to 71.9?

On AP look at this Page 6

https://www.apfinance.gov.in/VOABudget1 ... ccount.pdf

Image

Look at line 4 - Grants-in-aid 22760 cr in 2017; 50695 cr in in 2018 and 60721 cr in 19. Look at TG and TN budgets and compare.

I compared TN and TG. But every one from AP keep ignoring AP Govt. document and repeat lies of Naidu. BTW, I was and supporter of Naidu for long long time. He lost it due to love for PAPPU son and somehow make him CM

@vijayk That document is enough to nail all the lies of Naidu. As usual Naidu along with Chrislamists created a lie and pagans repeat it like divine ordinance. No wonder more than 30% of coastal AP is now iz in laards arms.

The new capital of AP, Amaravati is supposed to be a city of more than 10 km radius. That is as big as Vijayawada. So where are you going to get the people to populate it? Are you going to move entire Vijayawada to Amaravati? What will happen to Vijayawada then?

According to a article, none of the 'new' cities India built had immediate takers except Chandigarh. It took decades to populate them like Navi Mumbai and Naya Raipur. Its more than a decade Naya Raipur was formed, but hardly any body lives there compared to Raipur.

Amaravati will be no different. It will take several decades to even build a fraction of what Naidu envisages. He will die and even his son will die by then. Amaravati will have to be built on its own merit, by the people based on the economic activity it generates. No amount of funding from the center or state will build it.
government has envisaged an investment needed of USD 2-4 trillion for the development of the greenfield capital city[20]

Amaravati, being built on a 217 sq km open field in Guntur district, is being designed to have 51% of green spaces and 10% of water bodies, with a plan to house some of the most iconic buildings there.
This is an area twice the size of Navi Mumbai.
Population of Navi Mumbai is 11 lakhs after all these decades. Vijayawada's is 10 lakhs.

The expected cost is 2 to 4 trillion dollars. Surely, he is not expecting the center to foot the bill, that too in one term.
And how did he acquire all that land of more than 200 sq km? How much did he acquire anyway? I hope people did not give up their land and are now twiddling their thumbs in the hope of getting prime real estate. There is something seriously wrong with this guy if he thinks he was going to build this city in one term.

When AP was bifurcated, most of the industries and revenue generating opportunities went to Telengana. Promises were made in parliament to compensate which must be upheld. Modi is not doing some "ehsan" for AP, we only need him to do what was promised. As far as tiff between Modi and Naidu, it's just about the credit for the development activites which Naidu refuses to share with anyone.

Anyway it's beneficial for the state that parties are fighting for the development rather than creating divisions.

Modi did good work at centre but fruits of his hard work will be enjoyed by next government hopefully it's Modi's. I don't want to see the repeat of ABV followed by UPA 1 & 2.

On the above conversation:
1. Most of the people in AP are against Modi. 95% is close.
2. BJP alinged it self with Christs in the state

No promises were made in parliament for them, but why did the parliament make promises to AP if there was no substantial loss for the people.

Congress made promises, BJP backed it... It's the end of story there. Now fullfill the promises made.

Baba I promise you 1 million dollars , go figure.

Fact is Naidu and everyone running Andhra was swimming in money what everyone at top wants is same amount of bounty regardless of division of assets without doing any hard work. As for promises every state when formed comes with promises nothing new there but to expect someone would give one everything on a platter is not just foolish but also reeks of sense of self entitlement. Someone here told not to indulge in Modi vs Naidu well of course there ain't no comparison for one guy got his state on global map without any help from the centre and other wants things to be served to him on platter in advance. If Naidu wants whatever trillion for AP , let him become the PM if he has what it takes then he can grant his home state whatever aid he can but no he cannot get a single vote outside of AP and you know why ? When you would have figured the answer to that question one would realize the difference between lakhs of him and Modi.

People crib about country not making any progress , how would it when so called great CM of AP has to behave like a 4 year old , every state has issues , Ka has been now demanding for package thanks to HDK's pro poor schemes , TN has water issues , Bihar and UP belt will remain resource hungry for eternity , in midst of this if states that are doing slightly better also behave uptight and cannot manage their resources what kind of improvements will next generations expect ?

Reasons for Modi wave are simple he is one eyed among the blind . As for Naidu followers of course I have deepest respect for a guy whose rise to the CM chair happened after the great toil and hard work that went in becoming SIL of NTR I mean isn't this a typical layman's idea of striking it big ?

As an outsider, while I don't think AP was betrayed by the BJP (the budget data posted by vijayk shows this very clearly), this statement is not fair. Naidu did put in a lot of hard work to get Hyderabad to where it is today. Anyone who had visited/lived in Hyd before the mid-nineties would surely attest to this. And without Hyd, the rest of the state would not have prospered the way it did.

It does not deflect from recent events, but let's be fair in criticism of past work. That said, my breaking point for any benefit of doubt was the Pulwama comment - that was stooping way too low.

In a pre modi era, naidu was only state cm who talked of development that and work in developing hyderabad got him his name and fame.

But i am intrigued to hear the telegenana took away all the good stuff from AP. Other than hyd what jewels did they get? All of the arid naxal prone districts are in telengana. All of the lush coastal districts, tirupati, vizag, vijaywada, nellore. Rajamundry are in AP.
Why is this a poor division of the spoils? This coastal
Educationally forward belt is where most ap nri and achievers seems to be from ..telengana has few pickets like hyd and warangal only

Common mistake almost all Indians make is attributing a capital city's rise to a CM and then putting these guys on a pedestal . By that yardstick SM Krishna would be India's best CM till date and yet we all know how Bangalore fairs despite being called silicon valley of India . For fck's sake If a CM has to be judged look at what he did for regions that were not affluent , Karnataka has lost green cover , Kaveri water situation is only getting worse and newer the city area worse is it's zoning and planning . I have been to Hyderabad seen it , it's no different from Bangalore in terms of model having few concrete structures with glass panels is not development that comes easy, carve out a SEZ give a tax holiday for year or two and you will have companies lined up . Hard part is to invest where there is no immediate return i.e. irrigation systems, laying down miles of transmission lines etc.

If CB Naidu was half as great a CM he is made out to be today he won't have to roam around with a bowl in hand simply because a good CM would have spread development across the state not just the capital city and when it comes to the city, the model is all too known most of the IT parks or even the land is all owned within the closed group so we know who prospered there . The takfleef of losing Hyderabad was about that .

Also can someone pull exactly what promises were made in parliament or public by upa2 ?

Is amravathi land buying or construction stopped due to lack of central funds?

To me building a costly soviet union type grand capital smacks of fiscal irresponsibility if the state is already short of funds. More modest smaller capital can suffice than a new moscow with giant boulevards and waterbodiea. Space can be kept to build in phases

To me it looks like desire for a get rich quick land boom of the dlf ncr type driven by new capital hype than a prudent plan. Rome need not be built in a day

When the capital of Assam shifted down from shillong in 1972 due to splitting from meghalaya no special pkg qas given to build new capital beyond bare minimum. A set of offices and housing colony of badic std was built and improved over the decades. Some old crumbling house rows still there

Its pressure from land mafia hoping for once in generation loot and hope to market gold plots to nris that probably drives the amravathi hype

No big noises came from ranchi or dehradun.

Capital city could have been made as satellite town of vijaywada which is biggest rail junction in south and has good infra

If naidu had done good in telengana distts the separatist movement may have fizzled out

All these promises claims a light on details

Need a list of what was promised to what projects and in what timelines

Naidu himself does not answer such questions
But is fanning the flames among emotional people at village level saying andhra was first butchered and now insulted and cheated by the center.

@vijayk Can you post the details of "Grants-in-aid" for other states like UP, Bihar, TN, KA? It would be a good way to compare hard numbers instead of lifafa baji that is going on here. Also, this thread is getting a bit derailed by AP status issue.

So you mean to say we haven't done any good in Kashmir and hence the separatist movements.
There were lots of factors mostly political including coummi which broke the state .
Also stop with your modi bhajan! Gujarat was put on world map because of 2002.
CBN developed Hyd. Everyone from all over the state invested in Hyd. Capital of a state is there for a reason.
Hyd is the only city where I didn't see bias towards outsiders, which is there in bang, chennai, mumbai, delhi ,most of the north India.
Which you are displaying here by being insensitive to the people of AP.

Negi-ji, please don't compare CBN and SMK, especially with monikers like "best CM", etc.. Light years' difference. I am yet to see a KA CM with a vision for BLR, let alone for the state. Similarly, there is no comparison between infra in BLR and HYD, the latter is streets ahead with better roads, traffic management, mass transit, etc. a lot of whose foundations were laid by CBN. BLR was actually much better earlier and has only regressed over the years, and continues to slide down a bottomless abyss, what with the current CM obsessed over elevated roads, steel flyovers and associated shite; can't say that for HYD by any stretch of imagination. Can it be better? Sure. Could CBN have done better? Absolutely. When building up Hyd, he didn't pay much attention to rural AP, or so the story goes. Reminds me of a certain "India shining" campaign by a govt that did great work, but which benefited cities first and got voted out. But did that make that govt worthless?

Now, coming back to the current demand for special package, etc., CBN seems to have lost his mojo in divided AP and is milking the situ for staying relevant in the coming election; AP by itself has enough resources to stand on its feet - excellent rail infra, long coastline with scope for multiple ports, huge tracts of agri land with large rivers, and a well-educated populace ready to take advantage of good govt policies. GoI has clearly supported the state with enough grants, full funding for Polavaram, etc., so I don't know where this constant rona-dhona is coming from. Reminds me of a certain neighbouring state to the south, which is a powerhouse in multiple industries and still has many "social" people crying about Mudi this and that. Thankfully, the real-doers there keep doing what needs to be done and so the economy continues to boom. Similarly, AP simply has to follow the same model of mixed development and play to its advantages and not keep looking for IT investments in Amaravathi.

In the long run, I feel TS got the shorter-end of the stick, as apart from Hyd there is nothing to build upon, and they are land-locked and river locked. As long as HYD does well, TS will prosper, looks like. Will be interesting to see how TS does a decade later.

question is will YSRC break bread with NDA later. its currently not in any formation NDA or gatbandhan.
situation is similar to the Odisha case - who does naveen patnaik really support, other than ofcourse himself.

If safrron party does this.... they'll have no future in AP or TG. even TN for that matter. Being in cahoots with that christo Jagan will not bode well for the future.

Easy for you to say, most of us were not ready for the division. It will remain as a scar.
I will urge you people to stop discussing the division issue.
I personally started hating congress since they divided my state, they are just like British who divided india and Pak to keep us fighting eternally in Kashmir.

I am not interested to post anything on this. But wish to clarify few things here. AP division took place without consent of the majority people of AP. Period. BJP under Sushma was a sold out and under control of Mafia queen at that time. Earlier divisions done by BJP were done with the consent of the respective states and after the respective state assemblies passed resolutions etc for the same Promise for special status was sought by BJP leaders Jetlee and Venkayya and promise was made by MMS. It is not part of state reorganization act. So there is no legal right to claim that.

Issue is Hyderabad. Telangana politicos wanted real estate loot for themselves and kicked AP politicos who are looting that till that point. With the city being lost, AP lost most of the industry, most of the job opportunities, entire film industry and most of the educational and other institutions. They were forcefully take away by the GoI as the total power was with GoI under the constitution to do that. AP now has four capitals since 1947. Madras, Karnool, Hyderabad and Amaravathi. Funny. Still there is real problem for AP other than EJ political parties of YSRC and TDP along with urban Naxal party of Jana Sena. State can further develop in no time will be better than most of the states if proper administration is provided.

Here the role played by Sushma Swaraj is quite big and totally went unnoticed. She ensured that BJP abandon AP people and Mafia Queen gets her way with no opposition on any principle by BJP. Then question is why Mafia Queen did that? The plan is to have a Islamic State in Hyderabad and EJ state of AP. There is no other reason for the division of AP. Immediately after division Owaisi become national level leader and Jagan and Babu became EJ leaders. Babu now created is a anti national political gang in AP which is going to create huge hate filled gangs similar to DK. TDP is now Neo Justice Party and Neo Razakars are in defacto power in Hyderabad City.

Hail Mafia Queen.

I will not be posting anything more on this.
