Sir one of my reasons for voting bjp is not that they would help Hindu causes, it is to ensure other parties understand that there is greater Hindu consciousness today than ever before. Look at Congress , they being a party of NGO had to shift position to support sabarimala issue. Party who used NGOs to run country has to pretend that it's President is shiv bhakti. That in itself is big deal for me.

I’m amazed at how little it takes to pacify Hindus. Just a little photo-op stunt and we are happy that we’ve moved the needle to the right. Do we even realize that the needle was so far left that it’s basically not moved at all, just an illusion created for vote gathering.

Just in case you want to see the sabka saath sabka vikas model see this tweet from Abhinav Agarwal

Kati wrote:1. Please forward the cartoons (especially of page-117 of this thread) to as many people as possible, preferably
in Bengal. I started with forwarding to a few people, and looks like it has been a great hit. However, mango people are aware of antics of Mumtaaz Begum, and are silently willing to teach her a lesson.

2. Here are some feedback from the ground level: The main problem of Mumtaaz Begum is that she is a megalomaniac, and wants to
grab 100% of the popular vote. In spite of her being erratic ("paaglee"), foul-mouthed, and lack of sophistication, she had done a commendable job in providing welfare in the rural area which stands out markedly from the situation under the Left Front rule.
This good work (projects like 'Kanya-shree') would have given her 60% popular rural vote anyway, but she , being a megalomaniac, wanted to grab the 100% of the popular vote. She wanted t project herself as the synonym of Bengal (sort of "Indira is India..."), and
this perhaps has become the start of her fall. In the last panchayat election her goonda gang (which once was under the LF) didn't allow
the opposition to place candidates in about 35% of the seats, and this has turned a large segment of the rural population against her.

3. What has miffed the people in Bengal, especially in large metros like Kolkata, Burdwan, Jalpaiguri, is that while she is calling names to NaMo, bad mouthing BJP left and right, yet BJP is restrained in its criticism against her. Just the other day, Mumtaaz Begum insulted
NaMo saysing that "if he couldn't take care of his own wife then how can he take care of the country?" A large chunk of the metro people think that BJP should pay her in the same coin by sludging her own personal past. .... And here the story gets a bit interesting which not many people are aware of.

4. TMC and Mumtaaz herself want to project that she is single, and gives her life to Bengal. (perhaps she wants to project that she is married to the cause of Bengal.) While being a student of Islamic history, she fell in love with a Muslim guy (some say her own classmate), and got married to her. Her converted name is truly "Mumtaaz Begum" (though jokingly people use this term to address her, not knowing her past, just to indicate her extra love for the minorities.) Ask taxi drivers around the neighborhood of Mominpur / Fanci Market area of Kolkata, and they would show the red-brick house of the muslim guy to whom Mumtaaz was married. Apparently, her "husband" dies due to sudden illness. This "marriage" was kept very secret, because she conceived a child before getting married. That child was put up for adoption. Who adopted that child? Her own brother. This adopted son of Mumtaaz' brother, i.e., now officially her nephew is none other than Abhishek Banerjee, TMC's number-2 person, and MP from Diamond Harbour seat. Mumtaaz moved heaven and hell to make sure that Abhishek got a cake walk in that seat. Abhishek is also the prez of Yuva TMC (the youth wing of TMC). Mumtaaz' right hand man Subrata Bakshi was entrusted with the job to make the "nephew" win by hook or by crook. Mango public think that BJP can easily go for a personal attack against Mumtaaz using her own past if she can rake up NaMo's wife issue.

5. After her "nephew" Abhishek got elected as the party MP, and became number-2 in the party leadership right behind Mumtaaz, she started pruning all top and senior leaders. Thus Mukul Roy was shown the door who once was the number-2, and used to be called TMC's moneybag. Other senior leaders like Shubhendu Adhikary ("badshah" of East Midnapur district), Gautam Deb (of north Bengal) etc saw their wings clipped by Abhishek Banerjee. There is a good amount of resentment within the party. Leaders like Soumitro Khan, Anupam Hazra have left the party, and now contesting with BJP tickets. If BJP manages to cross the 30% vote share then an avalanche of defection will start from TMC to BJP.

6. People are fed-up with the action replay of LF's goonda-raj under Mumtaaz' regime. They really hope that BJP can get about 12 to 15 seats to teach this paaglee a good lesson. (More seats are unlikely given the wide-spread rigging. However, people are confused why the state BJP is not filing cases in the courts against EC's inactions since rigging and intimidations are so rampant.)
This would sound credible if there are other nephews and nices and she favours only one of them to the exclusion of everyone else. Otherwise it is just partiality for one's own family- a common enough failing for most politicians.

if that was the case then they would not have rebuked her.

I think Elst is referring to the Advani era, the mandir was a stepping stone to unify some votes. The freedom to call Godse a patriot is similarly a "hindu issue" bur not a greater cause. mandir and Sabari are similar

Hindus have not tended to rally directly around a greater cause it has been an amalgam of symbolic issues like beef tallow in cartridges,

Mumtaaz Begum has six brothers - all pretty much goondas, and the family runs a smooth mafia raj. She has many other nephews and nieces..... But only the Abhishek is the chosen one.

[A little bit about the mafia raj run by Mumtaaz Begum's brothers: They have usurped about 40 - 45 prime real-estate properties in Kalighat Temple area (where each kottah can runsinto crores) through muscle / intimidation from elderly couples and/or NRI families who have no one to look after the properties. One of the brothers, - Kartik is a well known local muscleman, and controls the local auto - taxi union. Two brothers started hotel business in Odisha as soon as Mumtaaz became CM. The reason she has been the most shrill voice against NaMo's DeMo is because the brothers lost cash worth about 25 crores.]

According to the book by Dipak Ghosh, she was married to one advocate, Ranajit Ghosh, her neighbour. Everything else is fine.

1. 'Development discussion .....'. Good augury I assume ...that he thinks he will be around to follow up on it.
2. Quite the contrast- NaMo in traditional dress befitting that area's culture whereas the support staff is in suit and boot, literally.

It must be quite cold even in May.

May 16

Consider the scenario of BJP getting more than 350 as same as Bangladesh beating England.
While BJP getting below 150 as Nepal beating England.
Are these 2 possible?
Yes that are, but it would happen like 1 out of 1000 to 10000 times.
Bottomline - Stop panic, wait for 23 May

Yogi on his own is getting atleast 40 additional seats, adding to Modi Wave 3.0 & media would have wanted a weak CM who would have struggled against Mahagathbandhan and surrendered to below 15 seats. That is why every other day media walas keep churning hate articles against him.

More Suyash Bharadwaj Retweeted The Emissary
Post Yogi, rapes, Eve teasing of Hindu women in demographically disturbed areas has gone down significantly. Goons who did hafta vasooli, rangdaari are behind bars or killed. There is peace and people are grateful, except ofcourse the criminals and media

Yogi is highly popular.
All credit of Modi Wave 3.0 goes to his strict, authoritative nature made sure all socialist schemes of BJP reached last Mile in 11 months & also ensured Gundaraj ends.
If there was another CM, BJP would have struggled to cross 15.
Now will cross 55+.

Khujli already ready with his excuse ...

https://indianexpress.com/elections/kej ... ys-sheila/
Kejriwal’s Muslim vote remark: People have right to vote for whichever party, says Sheila
On Friday, Kejriwal had told The Indian Express that the Muslim vote “shifted” to the Congress at the last minute during the Lok Sabha polls in the capital.

When asked how many seats he would get in the capital, where seven constituencies voted on May 12, Kejriwal said, “Let us see what happens. Actually, chunaav ke 48 ghante pehle tak saaton seat lag raha tha Aam Aadmi Party ko aayengi. Last moment pe complete Muslim vote got shifted to Congress. Last night, the night before election. We are trying to figure out ki hua kya hai. Poora ka poora Muslim vote jo hai woh Congress ko shift ho gaya. They are 12-13 per cent. (Until 48 hours before polling, it seemed like all seven seats will come to AAP. But at the last moment, the complete Muslim vote got shifted to Congress. We are trying to figure out what happened).”

INC for it to recover has to undergo 180 degree change. Just jettisoning the family and its coterie is not going to do. It has to revisit its core ideology. I am not sure that is possible.

Round Sevyn.

Comin' this very Twenny-Nynth Day of Vaishakha.

Fifty-Nyne Places at da Altar.

Time for dat Knockout Punch. Da Undisputed Champion versus .....uhhhhhh....who ??

Main questions:

- Da Nawth: With BJP having likely picked up 22-23 seats already in the region, will HP+PB+Chandigarh (8 seats contested by saffron) help it power along to match the 29 seats from 2014 ?

- East UP/West BH: Will the great works and popularity of NaMo in and around da Holy City - dat Shining Jewel on da banks of Holy Ganjeez - power the BJP to a sweep in this belt ?

- WB: Will final nailz be driven into the TMC coffin ? Will dis coming day seal the decline and fall of Dee Dee over the next few years ?

- MP: Will the western Indore belt continue to deliver a strong clutch of seats ? Is Mamaji (Uncle Chou) on point with his A-game ?

O ye of little faith, place thy trust in Lawd Ram and Lawd Vishwanath. Dey be both on call at dis time of reckoning. Jus' don't dial da wrong numba.

INC is the local face of the Shadow Quadrant, nothing more or less.

Thing is, if it gets rolled up, SQ will find another face. They've already been looking for others for a while now. Bill Clinton visited CBN, plus who knows whom else in AP/TG. Hillary visited Mamata in WB, DMK leadership in TN.

The question for us is: is it more beneficial to have myriad local pipsqueaks (Pappu, CBN, KCR, Jagan, Stalin, Mamata, Kejriwal ityadi) vying with each other and undercutting each other for the funds & favour bestowed by SQ? Or is it better to have one most-favoured and most credible minion stand out amongst them, for the SQ to select as a "best bet"?

I think the 1st option is better. Had there been one remotely credible character of national stature among the pipsqueaks who SQ could bet on to challenge Modi... we would right now be looking at a post-election Indian Summer that put the Arab Spring to shame. Regardless of the May 23rd results.

Meanwhile, a little country called Australia, also went to the polls this weekend.

What’s interesting is the handful of channels Oz has, leftist media (they all are here ), opinion polls and the legal satta bazaar all predicted an ALP (Labor) win.
The Coalition’s bombshell triumph comes after repeated polls placed the ALP ahead of the Morrison Government, and the Prime Minister’s demise appeared assured.
An analysis of odds offered by Ladbrokes, Sportsbet and TAB reveals punters believe Mr Shorten is well on his way to winning government, installing Labor as short-priced favourites in 59 of the nation's 151 electorates.
The elites got it wrong. The people got it right.

The American media got it wrong with Trump, the Indian and western media got it wrong with NaMo and now the Aussie leftist elites got to wrong.

Just something before counting starts in India.

Scott Morrison clinches unlikely victory over Bill Shorten in bombshell election result

What the betting markets tell us about the seats set to fall on election night

There is no PVNR so it is better to let it die natural death. BJP should focus on cleaning up INC in the Hindi belt which they failed to do so. They should take services of CBN/KCR/Mamata.

BJP is finding it heard to provide polling agents in all booths in WB, an indication of intimidation by TMC goons so that the previously agreed polling agents are backing out.

Have asked EC to relax the norm to find polling agents from outside the area within the same assembly seat.

If through SC route, I dont see how. What with recent attempts to malign/cow down the cj, I doubt he will play along.

SC is a dead end for them after the #meetoo hit on CJI. Lavasa's show of dissent is a twitter talking point - not much traction beyond that.

Very unlikely that SC will halt the process ... it might entertain petition/challenge that will be taken up after the full court assembles. Challenging elections at the seat level is anyways an old Indian tradition.

What I do feel will happen is #NotMyGovernment or #StoleElection kind of *uncivil* society kind of movement and a major media onslaught primarily in the foreign media to de-legitimize the Modi government. Anyone remembers the *Million Women march" or some such thing in DC when the Orange-head was elected?

Long-shot street *revolution* or subversive activity cannot be ruled out but Indians in general are not a very revolutionary bunch.

Guys, all this premature celebrations by some BJP stalwarts, over optimism etc is making me nervous. One only needs to recall Karnataka elections a year back when even on the day of counting BJP was leading at 120 odd, you had laddoos being distributed, only to see all that cheer dissipate just a few hours later when BJP fell short and Sonia Gandhi asked her JDS slaves to stake claim.

In one sense BJP has already 'won' to the extent that entire Lutyen Khan market gangsters are just hoping and praying Pappu touches the 100 mark or so in the hope then that BJP will fall short like in Karnataka, and then then Italian queen Sonia madam can line up all the salves to coronate her Pappu as PM. So BJP has to get absolute majority, but Pappu can become king with just 100. And this is supposed to be Khan market Lutyen view of democracy.

I have lost a lot of respect for that SOB KCR who after calling Pappu a joker is now falling at his feet in the hope that with Pappu as supreme leader, he (KCR) can be his side-kick as deputy. I also wonder if one his gurus, Chinna Jeer Swamy will dump KCR or not for the latter aligning with a dynasty that coined the "Hindu terror" phrase.

Regardless of the May 23rd results.
totally agree. anyways a lone leopard fighting a tiger has zero chance. a hybrid pack of hyenas, wolves, jackals and wild dogs may do better. if any alpha emerges from the baying pack to lead the legions so be it - may the most treacherous win - its win win for SQ to let the pack fight and see who can rule over the dung hill.

dogs and jackals to harass and bark and distract, wolves to run on the flanks and use their stamina, and hyenas with their lion sized bite to form a fighting line and advance.

neither are americans. good for sit-ins and talkathons and teetar commandogiri.
the only ones heavily armed and ready for a skirmish are the blood n soil types - the people who paraded in full battle dress in charlottesville.
