I had mentioned this before but ppl got upset. Using my own non scientific sampling using social media, friends etc, had said TN, AP, KL had fallen furthest from mainstream in terms of being badly affected by anti Modi, anti-BJP, divisive propaganda regarding "cowbelt", "naarthies", "casteist BJP etc". And this would reflect in voting.

BJP Govt needs to look into this at the earliest.

CBN craeted a huge hate campaign on BJP and NM for almost two years. Entire Telugu media actively participated in that. Most of the Telugu media people are communists directly or indirectly. So that hate went into large sections of the society in AP at least. TG escaped that to some extant.

In TN entire DK gangs along with DK media which is practically entire TN MSM along with SM gangs were attacking NM and BJP for almost five years and hate northees (BJP said to be north Indian party) and hate brahmins (BJP) and anti Hindu ideas for almost five decades. To expect BJP to do well there in immediate future. One good thing is there is lot of Hindu political awakening happening in TN (much better situation than in AP). We have to work on that for sometime and see how it goes.

UlanBatori wrote: As for Kummanom R (my Evil 6th coujin has eaten lunch with him...), Surendran etc, they simply do not have that much name recognition in Malloostan, as we may imagine sitting in BRF. Yes, NaMo should make some of these people Mantris and get them into Rajya Sabha, like INC did to Ambassador Narayanan who then became Prez. WTH did he do for Malloostan I don't know, but he had Big Name Recognition.
Jefe, some thoughts:

1) Kummanam-chettan has vast name recognition since '80s, ever since leading the successful Nilakkal movement against Karunakaran's machinations (that chap has done so much ill among yindoos due to cynical votebank calculations!). He is considered a great grass roots organizer by VHP and was close to the spiritual gurukula clusters around Chenkottukonam-Shivagiri areas. That automatically means he is well-liked by the spiritual elders of both ezhava and nairs of South. He is well hated by all denominations of the church, due to his success in uprooting the fake 'relic' cross at Nilackel mentioned above. Muslims dont have issues with him, AFAIK. He has great aura of respectability due to his frugal lifestyle etc. But anything administrative, he starts getting stretched. I can vouch for that...

Summary: Kummanam-chettan is one of the most well known figures politically, but is not considered as a parliamentarian or a minister, both by his own party rank-file and general public

2) Surendranji is a thiyya from Malabar who neither has social connections in Pathanamthitta (nair and christian dominant belt) to work the caste arithmetic there nor has any work done in that area, other than the Sabarimala issue. I hear strong talk of the state party president himself wanting to compete there and might have given less than stellar support to Surendranji. He would have come up atleast second, if not an outright win. Poor guy deserved better, for the persecution he faced from the commies over Sabarimala.

3) both of above dont have the pan-religious appeal of O Rajagopal, who is now too senior and fragile to stand for elections, at 90 plus years.

4) The late KR Narayanan was a figurehead and has zero electoral appeal, if not for the propping up done by Congress. Hilariously, he always supports communists over the congress in private and has shafted his benefactors a lot. He started life as a student given scholarship by the Maharaja Chitira Thirunal. Was sent to oirope for higher studies, returned as a naxal types and promptly foulmouthed said Maharaja to lot of applause by local intellectuals of post-1950 Kerala. Cringeworthy stories.

5) NaMo-1 made Kannathanam a mantri via Rajya sabha, instead of Kummanam, Suresh Gopi etc. I still am scratching my head on that one  Kannanthanam is disliked by Kochi Archdiocese padres and wont get even a single vote based on his winning personality. He still maintains (visibly) close ties with current CM.

Edited:

Nilakkal issue mentioned above:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nilakkal# ... n_in_1980s

circa 1983:
The prayer procession held on 24 April under the guidance of Kummanam Rajasekharan (Hindu activist) and Sathyananda saraswathi (Hindu spiritual leader) marked the beginning of struggles. A meeting was held at Poorna auditorium, Thiruvananthapuram for various representatives of Hindu organizations with P. Keralavarma Raja as moderator. About 27 representatives actively participated in the meeting in which they decided to go on with struggles until the cross was removed from the spot. An action council was formed with Kummanam Rajasekharan as General-Convener, Swami Sathyananda Saraswathi as Chairman, J.Sisupalan as Convener and including 31 other members.[19] The council had its first meeting at Chengannur on 28 April.[20]
The late Swami Sathyananda Saraswathi was the highly influential Chenkottukonam Swamy (mentioned above), who closely co-ordinated with Shivagiri monks. He was a great networker and a close friend of my grandpa, till the end. A master of the Jedi temples found in that area

Keralavarma Raja was an erstwhile royal, who was the first bonafide RW candidate to stand for elections from a RW platform (Hindu Munnani) in Trivandrum. He won a significant vote chunk in first attempt itself and opened the eyes of elders. I campaigned for him house-to-house as a teenager. Soft personality, with lots of inner strength. Fond memories of that campaign, wherein we are treated as aliens landing from stars, but due to his standing as a royal, everyone including commies were civil! Plus they thought this will fade

Issues which turned anti-modi in TN. AIADMK and DMK conveniently shifted all the blames on Center

# Tuticorin Shootout (Nothing to do with Modi, but he was blamed)
# Hydrocarbon (Nothing to do with Modi, but he was blamed)
# 8-way Chennai-Salem highway (Nothing to do with Modi, but he was blamed)
# Jallikattu Protest (Nothing to do with Modi, but he was blamed)
# Farmer protests in Delhi (Nothing to do with Modi, but he was blamed)
# NEET protests (Nothing to do with Modi, but he was blamed)

We can logically argue those are nothing to do with Modi, but perception among lot of people was Center/Modi was responsible, because DMK/AIADMK blamed center for the impasse. Added to that the un-engerytic OPS-EPS combine who looked very mediocre and was giving excuses and supplicating to the Centers wish than fighting for state's rights. DK gangs media empire blew the above issues out of proportion with constant 24/7 news.

About two hours into the count, well before my Mount Gay and XM rum had begun to properly chill, the big guys on the global scene had already dialled in their congrats. See below:

https://www.opindia.com/2019/05/world-l ... elections/

So we have: Netanyahu from Israel, Putin (Russia), Xi (China) and to that we can add Abe from Japan to that list. And although it may just be coincidental, that you have Ieaders represesenting the major civilisational nation states ie Israel (home of the Jewish people, Abrahaminacal faiths), Putin's Russia as the crux of Orthodox Christianity(not the vatican or Protestants), China (the Middle Kingdom empires, silk roads ets), and Japan just a few days into the new era, as the eastern pole of Buddhism.

https://www.fortuneindia.com/polemicist ... ate/103061

One of the the things that has been causing a lot of angst recently in the establishment media is the fear of emergence of these civilisational nation states that are not beholden to the Atlantic or Eurocentric models that have moulded the post ww2 scence. Add to this Turkey.

https://www.ft.com/content/b6bc9ac2-3e5 ... ab61506f44
https://www.newstatesman.com/2019/05/ch ... onal-state

The NDA and Modi's return via a democratic mandate, should be seen as part of this global re-emergence. The combined might of the global english media only succeeded in galvanising 46% of the electorate to vote for the NDA.

With Congress Behind 55-Seat Mark, Lok Sabha Likely to Have No Leader of Oppn for Second Straight Term

The largest Opposition party in the House needs at least 10% of the total strength of the house to be eligible for the LOP post.
May 23, 2019, 11:31 PM IST

New Delhi: Much like the 16th Lok Sabha in 2014, the lower house of the Parliament may be again bereft of the leader of opposition (LOP). As per the results of counting till 8 pm, the Congress has bagged 52 seats, which is four short of the mark needed for the LOP status.

The Leader of Opposition is a constitutional appointment and is part of the Central Vigilance Commission, Central Information Commission, National Human Rights Commission and National Judicial Appointments Commission.

According to parliamentary rules, the largest Opposition party in the House needs at least 10% of the total strength of the Lok Sabha, or 55 seats, to be eligible for the LOP post.

I just hope Modiji spends some time taking it easy. The rigours of being India's leader plus his intense drive have caused him to age more than what he should have in the past 5 years. He can change gears for a bit and go easy for the first few weeks. The campaign has been hectic, and I am sure tiring.

Sumalatha Ambareesh's supporters clash with JD(S) workers post Independent leader's win

Clashes broke out between supporters of Independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh, who was backed by the BJP, and JD(s) workers in Maddur Taluk in Karnataka. Two of her supporters -- Shashidhar and Kumar -- were reportedly attacked with beer bottles and knives. The injured have been taken to the hospital and a case been registered in Maddur.

Won't let BJP sabotage alliance, says G Parameswara

Congress leader G Parameswara told reporters today that all Congress MLAs met Siddaramiah to assert that they remain committed to continue the alliance under the leadership of HD Kumaraswamy. He said that the two parties will foil any attempts by the BJP to destabalise the government.

Day after result, Congress-JD(S) govt shrugs off poll rout as 'referendum for Central government '

"The mandate won't effect the Congress-JD(S) alliance in state because these were national polls and had nothing to do with the state government's performance," G Parameswara, Congress leader and deputy chief minister of Karnataka told reporters after the state government called an 'unofficial cabinet meet' to assess the poll drubbing.

It is noteworthy that with the BJP dealing a hammer blow, Congress and JD(S) managed to win only one seat each; JD(S) patriarch HD Deve Gowda also lost elections.

Who is the 'brains' behind the INC? Surely, it isn't SoGa or RaGa.

Someone must be advising them on the campaign themes, the decisions to contest from Kerala as well as Amethi (which was, no doubt, based on internal polling), pretend to be Hindus, etc.

I'm wondering if it is P. Chidambaram.

Modi 2.0 should take on this ecosystem and strip it away. They need to be brought to heel. They are the force multipliers for the tukde tukde gang, LWEs and also the INC and allow the footsoldiers to thrive, create chaos. If neutered, the entire INC-Left apparatus will be left naked and literally without any power.

Sam Pitroda is the "technology" advisor by default., he had the job of canvassing expatriates and fund flows as well as manipulation of social media, they also seem to have hired companies and political consultants for data mining and social "engineering". The exact details of which and who needs to be found. RaGa has had advice from professionals for his appearances and editing speeches. Though he proved himself to be pappu despite all that.

a small hint in this movie.

does not look like even 1 VVPAT mismatched to the EVMs, so not 1 whisper about it today, despite so much noise this week.

This is where BJP at Central.Govt (with absolute majority) should help. There has to be a central act which kind of dictates how temples should be managed (or better still how government control should be minimised in temple mangement). Right now there is a case in Hon.SC asking that Devaswom Boards in Kerala should be disbanded and every Hindu temple should be managed by Hindus devotees only. One well written central act, would naturally make every state bound by it.

Aravind Limbavali is a BJP leader from Bangalore, Karntaka. I guess he was also an MLA, or MP from here. May be he has roots in Telengana, by which he could work for BJP there.

The North-Eastern parts of Karnataka (which shares its border with Telengana) was once part of Hyderabad (under the Nizam). Areas like Gulbarga, Raichur, Nanded etc. After state re-organisation these places got moved to KA and MH. And in these areas they have suffered attack from Nizam's Razakkars but could also equally give it back, when Op.Polo was completed successfully. Infact there is a report from some Congress-wallah on the reprisal done against Nizam and Razakkars (and other Muslims) in these areas. It is available on the net.

My two paisa on this, as a person from KL and who did watch on TV the declaration of 100% literacy way back in early 1990s. 100% literacy is certainly good to have, but the communists who worked hard on getting this achievement also over-hyped it by associating literacy with intelligence. Perhaps this may also have been their way to influence people to support their ideology. So this theory of 100% literate == walking version of Encyclopedia Brittanica, slowly became much more prevalent in the state. The communists in KL are propoganda masters and they have been effective in telling the KL people that "100% literate == 100% smart. And smart people don't join RSS/BJP. They join CPI(M) instead ;)". This has been going on for 30+ years now, so you can imagine the generations of people who would have this mentality.

Secondly, KL people (cutting across religious lines) may be the first large group of Indians to start moving to the middle eastern states (as labourers). This made tremendous improvement on the financial position of the average Keralite. They had money to play around, and when it comes to material comforts (good house, TV,VCP/R etc.) was quite easily available. Successive GoKLs did not do much on improving the state provided facilities, but private investments made certain areas like hospitals, and tourism based industries flourish. The prosperity seen in KL is basically because of expatriate money (often made and circulated not following the taxation laws etc.). This mentality to ridicule other state and its people started coming from this. The state & its people did not become rich, by getting money from other parts of India. They made it from foreign countries. Today it has even reached the level of certain group & parties even wishing to see the state as part of an Arab Emirate. The Yindoos too have prospered by the money given by Arabs.

These kind of thoughts also prevails when people are in an isolation mode. From the sample set of people I have seen in KL; people who have not stepped outside the state seems to have the most virulent contempt for every one outside KL. People who have moved out of the state (most of the youngsters do that, because of the "excellent" job opportunities in KL), generally tend to have a better opinion of non-KL people. And when a KL person does start living outside the state for 12+ years, then reality would slowly start striking. That all of India (except KL) is not a bad place. It is this group who also ditches communism. A trend I have noticed (from a limited sample size) is that many KL people who did not depend upon on the Arabs to feed them, generally have a much better opinion about India and people from all parts of India.

Now; if 100% literacy was a mark of intelligence and acumen - how come the MPs in Kerala have not been able to perform well in Parliament? The MPs - especially commie MPs - their speeches in English is available on YouTube. It is a laugh riot out there. If 100% literacy == smartness, then these people should have been able to get many projects into KL (as others are not literate so can be easily fooled). Even a simple thing like a Rail Coach Factory has been lying there as a dream. The state's financial position is in a mess, and they have been again planning to take loans (which many of the 100% literate but gullible public feels as a kind of charity money - not be repaid).

OK, time to do a proper count of NDA numbers. There is confusion in various reports. Please correct if I am wrong.

The following parties currently identify themselves as NDA members (I am only listing those who won seats in LS 2019):

AJSU Party 1
All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam 1
Apna Dal 2
Bharatiya Janata Party 303
Janata Dal (United) 16
Lok Jan Shakti Party 6
Mizo National Front 1
National People's Party 1
Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party 1
Rashtriya Loktantrik Party 1
Shiromani Akali Dal 2
Shivsena 18

Plus 2 Anglo-Indian MPs (they continue unaffected by election cycle).

Total: 355/545
BJP 303+2, Allies 50

This will be the highest ever strength of NDA, surpassing the current strength of 341 as well as the strength of 336 after LS 2014. Even after exit of TDP and loss of 36 AIADMK seats....it is absolutely remarkable that the overall strength will increase a lot. NaMo-Shah jodi da jawaab nahin!
