Both Congress and TDP had strong leaders from "other" castes. In TDP, when Madhav Reddy was alive, he was considered No.2 after CBN. But those "other" castes as a whole never identified themselves with these parties. Kammas never identified Congress as a Kamma party inspite of some strong Kamma leaders in Congress. On the flip side, Reddy's identified congress as 'Reddy' party only in spite of some strong non-Reddy leaders in congress.

Jagan Reddy's EJ appeal is spreading beyond Andhra to TN. Thats the reason why he has to be cut down asap which can only happen when AP gets at least a nominally Hindutva party like BJP replacing TDP as the main opposition or TDP itself becomes the Shiv Sena of AP which is unlikely given CBN's opportunistic U-turn mentality and lack of ideological moorings.

Radha Krishna of ABN-Andhra Jyothi, a Pro-TDP/Pro CBN media owner has written a interesting editorial. At the very least, this view represents the thinking of a section of TDP base.

I am paraphrasing here. He says BJP strategy in AP is to wean away Kammas from TDP. But thats difficult to achieve because of emotional attachment Kammas have towards TDP. So BJP Plan B is to attract strong leaders from TDP. BJP would try to prosecute CBN on corruption and then automatically disillusioned TDP leaders and cadres will go over to BJP. Once that is accomplished, they will turn to Jagan and speed up his corruption cases and send him to jail, there by weakening YSRCP.

In order to counter BJP plan, Jagan Reddy is following two pronged approach. One is to bring special status issue back on stage in big way. Special status was not an issue in AP elections and Japan won without it. But CBN's strategy of making BJP unpopular using this issue was successful. So Jagan wants to bring this back on stage and make BJP more unpopular in AP. And second, convert BCs to Christianity in a big way. Already most SCs, STs in AP are converted Christians and they are strong vote bank of Jagan/YSRCP. So replicate the same strategy with BCs. BCs currently are mostly Hindus and TDP vote bank and BJP is trying to wean them away from TDP. Once BCs got converted and even if half of them gets converted, then together with Reddy's, SC/STs (who are mostly converted Christian) and Muslims, Jagan/YSRCP will have more than 45% solid vote bank share. Then it will become virtually impossible for BJP or anyone else to dislodge Jagan.

Unlike in other Southern states like Kerala or TN, where there are no one strong single charismatic popular Christian leader whom all Christians identify with, in AP, Jagan was able to accomplish it. In AP, all Christians regardless of their caste or denomination strongly identify with Jagan Reddy and prayed in their churches for his victory. Even in Telangana, Christians prayed for Jagan's victory in their churches. The more Christianity spreads in AP and Telugu lands, the more beneficial for Jagan Reddy/YSRCP that will be.

ABN Radha Krishna is a snake of the first order. TDP media is now trying to stoke Jagan vs BJP fire to make space for themselves.

This is a compmex game now. The factions have various caste/group/sub-regional interests.

BJP has to play long game to develop cadre and ground strength. There are no easy fixes in Andhra.

TDP despite appearances wont dissolve so quickly. They got 40% votes. That vote bank wont just wither away.

Jagan is a more difficult opponent to handle than CBN or Stalin or Kumaraswamy or KCR.

RK is indeed a despicable fella even by Presstitute standards, he along with the ETV Ramoji Rao were the two that advised Naidu to break away from NDA and pick up enmity with BJP.

That said, what he wrote is looking like a feasible strategy for Jagan. TDP has earned 1 crore 35 Lakh votes in the recent elections, and there are supporters of that party in even street of AP.. wiping it out is very difficult, that too by a party like BJP which does not evoke any positive emotion in AP.

BJP's strategy could be to offer ALL Hindus (not just BCs, Kammas, Kaapus) every thing that TDP offers & YSRCP could also offer + Hindutva cultural protection.. how they message this to the public and build positive cred needs to be mulled by their leadership.

Those familiar with Telangana politics, there is a small but significant development.

As I hoped, Komatireddy Rajagopal is planning to join BJP along with some of his key followers from Congress party.. his brother, Venkat, is the newly elected Congress MP from Bhongir constituency of southern TG. The Komatireddy brothers have significant influence in 2-3 districts of southern TG, where BJP is much weaker. Almost all remaining TDP leaders who didnt want to join either congress or TRS have recently joined BJP as well.

Reality is very mucked up in Andhra..

Jagan himself is making all out efforts to look more Yindoo than CBN.. he is being hyper sensitive to Brahmin community & Swamis, esp Swami Swaroopananda of Vizag who is visited diligently by both KCR & Jagan for blessings & poojas. For eg:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7MNSsMmdPw

Meanwhile, CBN controlled 10-15 channels of AP, aka TDP's official mouthpieces, are mocking all Hindu Swamis as frauds and thiefs. There are discussions with eminent "rationalists" to prove how all this superstition is being peddled to further political agendas.

The covertly anti-Hindu but openly pro-Hindu jagan vs the covertly & openly apathetic TDP..

Rony, TN does not need an outside help to embrace EJ. Half the leaders are converted fakes.
Eg Kamalgassan says he is an atheist and is said to be Christian and active with his brother in spreading the peace.
Quite often eminent TN folks need to point to outside influences to highlight the rot within. Or else they get targeted by the local goons.

OmkarC, TDP as a political force in AP is dissolving. However its support system is still standing like in media with RK and RR scamsters.
Right now hardcore TDP admit BJP is the opposition force in AP now.
All in first phase of the post election clean up.

Tomorrow we will know if CBN returns to India or stays in US.

CBN and his pappu son are in Europe, not US. Like Sonia Gandhi and her pappu sons foreign trips, there are no details about this foreign trip as well. No details on which European country they are visiting. Officially its supposed to be a post-election family vacation but when it comes to chameleon like CBN, nothing can be trusted.

I attended a gathering last weekend where some hardcore TDP supporters mostly Krishna-Guntur based Kammas were present. When conversation geared towards politics, their pet theory is Modi orchestrated EVM hacking at national level and won and simultaneously helped Jagan with EVM hacking in AP. They are confident that TDP will survive these 5 years and will come back in next elections. I sensed the same hubris in them as it was before elections. They haven't learnt a single right lesson from their debacle.

Where in Europe if you know?

Tell them if EVM were hacked how did CBN win in Kuppam?

On TDP conspiracy theories, you cant argue with them with reason. They will do వితండవాదం (vithandavadam) with half truths, selective facts. They are Andhra equivalent of Tamil DMK porali gang.

Mainstream media does not cover these things but in Guntur-Krishna-Prakasam-Godavari belt, Christians have reached sufficient mass numbers that they feel confident of doing these things. And with YSRCP in power, they feel even more emboldened. How many people even know that there is a Christian militant organization called 'Christian Mahasena' in AP and whose leader is a YSRCP member ?

Kamal has mentioned in multiple interview that he is an EJ and worked for an EJ organization. He has been open about his anti-hindu stance openly and depicted the same in film as well(for example using abirami andhadhi in film guna to depict a herione). Most of the people in Tamil Industry are Christian but cultivate a Tamil identity and call themselves as Athetist. To emphasize this, they choose a hindu name or religion neutral name as Film industry names example are Actor Vikram(real name:Kennedy John Victor), Actor Vijay(real name:Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar). Most people who are involved in Tamil Film industry are openly Anti-hindu like Vairamuthu, Bharathiraja and Seeman. Only Dharmics left is Ilayaraja and Rajinikanth.

problem We tamils have is,we dont differentiate between on-screen persona and off-screen character. So Show some good things in films and you will election. Result is Film industry rules the roast and every elections since CM K. Kamarajar time. That is the reason I believe, Hindu is more at threat in TN than in any other place in India. Amount of conversion taking place in South TN and parts of Chennai should be seen to be believed.

I think it will definitely be close to 25% if not more. My Suburb in Chennai-West has a small EJ church in almost every other street and huge church as well. every sunday, all these are filled. Check out how many people attend Jesus Calls seminars which takes place in different Christian schools (run by Paul Dhinakaran who is in the video). Their family literally started the business of soul harvesting.

There is a reason why I said BJP should never ally with Jagan. Right now its become open secret that BJP is pro-Jagan.

I hope that this is just polite taqia by BJP. Any deeper understanding with Jagan will destroy BJP in Andhra. They will forever be tarred.

Hopefully, jagan may get naidu and son jugged for a term of more than 7 years and then the naidus are automatically barred from electoral politics for a period of 10 years.

Also, the people of AP will now know the true colours of their venal politicos, both when in and out of power, and how they swindled money from the public under a variety of innovative scams and projects and perhaps a few may even acknowledge that Modi is not so bad, after all.

no wonder at all that Modi never gave the demanded financial carte blanche to the gaddar naidu

Andhra CM Jagan Mohan Reddy orders legal action against Naidu for 'power pilferage'

Andhra CM Jagan Mohan Reddy orders legal action against Naidu for 'power pilferage'

Jagan holds previous TDP regime responsible for causing staggering losses to discoms. Dubious solar & wind power deals are under the scanner.

26th June 2019

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday ordered legal action against former chief minister and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu for his alleged role in inking dubious deals with solar and wind power companies which caused enormous losses to power distribution companies (Discoms) in the State. The announcement was made at a review meeting on power sector chaired by the Chief Minister at his camp office in Vijayawada.

"Change is impossible without uprooting corruption," he told officials. Getting to the heart of the matter, the meeting focused on what pushed the power sector into a crisis. As of May this year, the Discoms owe Rs 18,375 crore to power generation companies -- due in large measure to power purchase agreements (PPAs) signed in the last five years and alleged corruption in establishing power generation units. During the same period, the outstanding amount to be paid by the State government to the Discoms increased to Rs 10,400 crore.

Scrutinising the PPAs, particularly those entered into with solar and wind power companies, the Chief Minister noted that rules were subverted to purchase power instead of buying it as per merit at a lower price. "Power was purchased at a hefty price under 'must run' policy from 2015. It meant thousands of crores of loss to the Discoms as the then government purchased power on a priority basis at higher prices from wind and solar energy companies though the same was available at a lower price in the open market," he said. The loss caused to the Discoms because of this process was Rs 2,636 crore.

A senior aide to the Chief Minister, who was present at the meeting, told Express that details, pertaining to the (PPAs) with wind and solar power companies, that came out were truly mind-boggling and could easily qualify as one of the biggest scams in the country. Between 2015-18, wind power was purchased at a unit price of Rs 4.83- Rs 4.84. Similarly, solar energy was purchased for Rs 4.50 to Rs 6.80 per unit. During this period, Rs 1.25 per unit was paid to State-run power generation companies irrespective of whether the government bought power from them or not. "What is the rationale behind allocating more funds for wind and solar energy when there was an opportunity to buy power from State-run companies at Rs 3.25 per unit?" the Chief Minister wondered.

A visibly angry Jagan felt criminal cases must be booked against those who made these decisions and announced that a committee would be set up to renegotiate with the solar and wind power companies in question to reduce the tariff and check the possibility of recovering the amount, over and above the market rate, paid to them. "Examine the tariff rates prevalent in other States at that time. If the companies do not relent, scrap the PPAs and look for alternatives," he advised the officials.

In this context, he mentioned Krishnapatnam and VTPS power generation units and asked why seven crores was spent on units with lower power generation capacity than those in other States. The issue of temporary PPAs entered into with the gas-based Lanco Spectrum also came up for discussion. The agreement with Lanco expired in 2016 but temporary PPAs were signed to pay 40 paisa more per unit taking the per unit cost to Rs 3.70. Jagan asked the officials the reason for the same, pointing out that at that time there was a chance to buy power from GMR Vemagiri whose per unit cost was Rs 3.29. The State could have written a letter to the Centre to supply gas to GMR and bought power from it. Because of the temporary PPAs, the government had to bear an additional burden of Rs 92 crore per annum. In three years, the State exchequer lost Rs 276 crore.

"We must recover this amount and also the money that was paid to other companies in violation of rules. We should send a message that we will not tolerate this kind of activities. Probe the then senior officer responsible for these scams as also the then minister and chief minister. Send a letter to the Centre explaining these details and ensure that gas is supplied," the Chief Minister instructed the officials. However, in the same breath, he clarified that he was not finding fault with any official. "You must bring about a change. If I too close my eyes... they may pay something to me too. We must recognize that people are important to us. What will we do with money? Change has to begin somewhere. It is my responsibility to protect officials. I am not angry with you but only at the corruption indulged in at the top level," he said, adding that his only agenda was to reform the system.

Asked if the Jagan government could be viewed as vindictive, the senior aide said there was nothing personal. "The Chief Minister is determined to clean up the system. He won't spare anyone if found guilty." Under the TDP regime, the then CM Chandrababu Naidu held the power portfolio from 2014 to 2017 and later, it was handed over to K Kala Venkata Rao.

Telangana BJP leaders including Raja Singh arrested by KCR govt for protesting on KCR wasting 600 crores of tax payers money on building new secretariat for vaastu reasons. KCR promised 2 lakh houses for poor but did not build even 20k houses. BJP is demanding that the money which Vaastu obsessed KCR is wasting on demolishing and building new secretariat and assembly be used for building houses for poor.

Ahmed Shali Who Led Team In TN To Proselytise Dalits, Arrested By NIA For Hindu Activist Ramalingam’s Murder
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) have arrested Shali alias Muden Ahmed Shali, a 51-year-old resident of Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu in connection for the brutal murder of Hindu activist V Ramalingam reports One India.

On 5 February 2019 Ramalingam Pattali a former activist of Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) was murdered for opposing religious conversion of Dalits by a group of unidentified men, suspected to be Muslims.

The group of men who were on a dawah mission was going house by house proselytising (converting) non-Hindus in Tanjavur district of Tamil Nadu.

Myden Ahmed Shali who has been arrested by the NIA was head of the dawah team that had entered into an altercation with Ramalingam on the morning of 5 February, 2019. He is later alleged to have participated in meetings conducted by radical Islamist organisation Popular Front of India (PFI) activists, wherein it was decided to kill Ramalingam for openly challenging them.

Sad they don't see the strategy here.
KCR wants to get rid of the old Nizam built Assembly Hall and make it a museum.
By building this new facility he is making a break with the Hyderabad State.
KCR even broke up old huge Nizami districts under rubric of better administration.
On this matter I support him.
And 600 crores is chump change compared to what Naidu was demanding for Assy bldg in Amaravathi.

I once met this Y.L> Prasad in Cupertino years ago one-on-one and there were some other leaders alongside. He was pattering about classical status for Telugu language was about to be given by UPA 2!!!!
i asked him how is it a classical language when it was only after nannayya codified the script and added 4 extra alphabets that it became Telugu. Before that it was another Prakrit.
He had no answer but said Telugu has to have classical status!!!
I thought another language chauvinist.

Ramana Garu, Telugu may not have the oldest literature that meets the classical criteria in strict sense, but its oral traditions goes much further and do meet the criteria from that perspective. Same for Kannada and Malayalam. While i wont deny political calculations behind awarding this status for these languages, its not without basis all together either. And many Indian languages meet this criteria and should be given this status imho. I believe many people want their language to be declared classical because it helps in promoting that language at a time when Indian languages are declining because of English language imperialism, establishment of language chairs in central universities, awards, fellowships and other mundane reasons not necessarily because of chauvinism. That is also the reason why some Tamilians opposed giving classical status to Telugu/Kannada/Malayalam/Odia because of the fear that Tamil will have to face competition for funds and grants not because they hate these languages per se.

apologies for going on tangent here - Ramana garu, many of telugu words can be traced back to the "desi" language that was said to be prevalent during late Satavahana era. [This is from a book called Andhrula Charitra by Dr B S L Hanumantha Rao]. Also corroborated elsewhere
During this period, Desi, the indigenous Telugu language, emerged as a literary medium overthrowing the domination of Prakrit and Sanskrit.
though the lipi is from Halekannada.
