The article says that the Aman Committee bears the cost of reconstructing the temple. Where does the money for the Aman committee come from?

Isolate dynastic leadership, empower ‘awaam’, Amit Shah’s Kashmir policy may succeed due to its boldness and ideological clarity
What came through during Amit Shah's interventions in both Houses of the Parliament on Kashmir last week is rare ideological clarity, an attempt to change the Kashmir narrative and a firm conviction in Centre’s plan of action. This is significant. For the better part of NDA-1’s tenure, it seemed as if the Narendra Modi government has no Kashmir policy in place and is as clueless about the troubled region as governments before it.

Shah dispelled such notions in two successive speeches — in Lok Sabha on 28 June and Rajya Sabha on Monday. From the Union home minister's replies — following a vigorous debate in the Parliament on Kashmir’s vexed relationship with India, demographic changes, Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, the hypocritical separatist movements, dynastic politics, subversion of democracy, alienation of the Valley and mistakes of leaders past and present — it is possible to chalk out the rough contours of this new policy.
Shah had said that after decades of failure it is time to look at Kashmir from a new perspective. This “new perspective” is evident in the way Shah tried to separate the Valley’s "awaam" (common people) from the small, elite coterie that controls political power. Shah acknowledged that the common people are feeling alienated, but his recipe for mitigating this alienation is to spread democracy deeper into the Valley by empowering the grassroots and taking power away from the "three families"
Shah demarcated a separation of India’s national security policy and foreign policy, complaining that these two have often been conflated in the past. Shah’s indication was clearly towards India’s handling of relationship with Pakistan in the context of cross-border terrorism and proxy war.
Linked to this is the third pillar of Centre’s new Kashmir policy where terrorism is identified as a ‘hydra-headed monster’. Shah vowed that the government will cut off its many tentacles in concurrence with an effort to assimilate the people with the Indian Union. The NIA, for instance, have “choked the flow of funds”, Modi government has launched surgical strikes across the border and airstrikes deep inside Pakistan’s mainland while crackdown on terror funding has led to 40 arrests and 137 challans.

On the three features of Centre’s new strategy, the first point deserves expansion. Shah’s contention is that Jawaharlal Nehru committed the “original sin” on Kashmir by unilaterally announcing a ‘ceasefire’ when India had Pakistan on the ropes, did not take then home minister and deputy prime minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel into confidence that eventually resulted in the formation of Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir and led to the scourge of terrorism affecting India’s body politic.
However, Shah accuses Congress of a bigger crime, that of gullibility in not setting up party units in Kashmir and “putting all eggs in Sheikh Abdullah’s basket” who “ran away with the basket and… became the Prime Minister there.”

Shah traces the beginning of Valley’s distrust of Indian political process with Congress’s holding of “sham elections in 1957, 1962 and 1967 in Jammu and Kashmir”, which, he alleged, led to large-scale disillusionment of the Kashmiris and created space for separatists to exploit.
It remains to be seen if Shah’s Kashmir policy is implementable and if it brings the desired results. No policy can be fruitful unless backed by political will. The separation of the awaam and the leadership, for instance, is a bold step that seeks to break free of the current stasis. It has instability written into its design, but such a radical step might be the necessity to break the vicious cycle in Kashmir. All eyes on Shah.

That brings in a whole new problematic dimension to the subject. Can't speak for others, but around the recent Babri court verdict and thereafter, know of several personal accounts where many people I know (and I myself) had to literally "leg" it from certain roads/streets because post Friday prayers huge crowds had gathered and were very inclined to rowdy behavior.

Translation:

Hindu and Muslims are vastly different communities structurwise.

For Example two men have a spat on road in Delhi, a Hindu man with Muslim man. Hindu man slaps Muslim man. So what happens? It will take a muslim at the most 10 minutes to reach nearby Madarssa Or mosque and will complain what happened to him. The mosque/madarssa will telephone/email jama masjid. Who have all the data of mosques and madarassas around that area. Telephone numbers, whatsApp groups. And in few hours you'll have 5000 to 10000 people gathered on road.
Seeing this mobilizations for decades in various parts of Gujarat. Nothing new. I have always seen Hindu gangs run away and disappear. That’s why I have always been pro arms in India. Few that stay behind to die need to at least take with them the same count. My family for 100+ years had helped Hindu families in the buffer zones and I grew up seeing things that you see as pieces of chess. We have seen all sorts of islamic hordes and jaichands on regular basis while doing that. I have personally seen 10 of our properties get usurped by jaichands that we helped and brought out of the buffer zones. Hard to trust such penny chasing Hindus and count on them.

Yes I do stand behind the 99% changing the lifestyle. That’s my benchmark to test how interested is barking Hindu in biting. Modi does what he does and I have seen it for decades in Gujarat. However, when you figure out plans for all Hindus to hide when they run in hordes, do reach out to him with it. These hordes need to start learning how not to run and why. And that starts with not getting brainwashed. In the 60s, in Gujarat we used to head out with sticks against islamic hordes which were very less numbered and organized than now. Cops would run away and judicial system won’t interfere. I also had five brothers. All those strong points are gone now. Now around 2000 visit, one Muslim got into an accident in Hindu area in my native town and all Hindus practically started leaving the area and headed to safety before buses arrived from mini pakistans like Surat, godhra, Ahmedabad, etc. Local police picked up all aggressive Hindus before the arrival. It’s been my foregone conclusion for at least three decades that one cannot count on judicial system and cops anymore as they will turn on Hindus regardless of who’s in power. This includes Modi’s time. In the game of ultimate, there are not many answers left. Hindus can run to different politician if they find one but underlying problems won’t be solved in a day without military takeover. On your hand you have flawed institutions and Hindus who believe and rely on them while islamists don’t. Over thousand years, most of aggressive Hindus are gone and all you’re left with are once that are expert at running or getting converted. Just today I ran into one from Kota who was so happy to be able to head to US with family and not deal with muslims.

The biggest elephant in the room is judicial system that feeds on Hindus which we aren’t allowed to openly discuss. For example, local DM and PP make crores from Hindus in each district through dowry and rape cases. They see Hindus as cash cows and not citizens. Try to get locked up Hindus out through the judicial system and you would know.

This looks like a planned attack. Mostly minors were asked to attack the temple so that they cannot be punished.

Modi and Shah's silence is worrying. This comes under home ministry. Modi was quick to give elaborated statement on MP son vs bureaucrat incident, then why silent on this?

After hutatma chawk vandalism, and lady police molestation MNS did huge hindu power demonstration in South Mumbai. That was the message to communal miscreants. Even police supported raj thackray. It is missing after this incident. You need an organization to arrange such demo. BJP is perfectly placed to do that. What is stopping them? Instead I see BJP is trying to color this as AAP vs BJP to obtain political mileage. Sad state of affair.

Darshan, the problem is hindus are becoming more and more white collar citizens or aspiring to be one. Plus these days hindu parents have 1 or 2 kids. No parent will encourage their kid to go and start street fight, that too when there is hardly any political cover. This was different 25-30 years back. Hindus were able to match street muscle.

Muslims on the other hand are perfectly placed to thrust street muscle over hindus. The only support hinuds can get is political ecosystem they voted and if the system fails them, then it is difficult to fight a street battle.

This is the typical refrain from liberals. All anyone is asking for is the protection of Hindus who have been persecuted for over a thousand years. There must be law and order. Islam and Christianity were imposed on India by force. State and local governments have not responded to the protection of people and property because they are Hindus. That is the reason why people are asking about Modi and Shah to intervene to help them.
There are practical steps that can be taken and practical demands that could be made. For example, temples can ask for the right to post guards with firearms, and demand that government indemnify the guards in case they have to end up shooting someone. It will meet resistance, but even the demand itself will convey seriousness of intent.

The guards can be trained by police and assigned as "special police " like in J&K or salva Judam. Again, it may not be accepted right away, or even ever, but it shifts the discourse from generalized grievance to specific solutions, which by implication, admits that there is a problem. Which is progress from pretending that there is nothing to see here, just a parking dispute.

Or even, just the trustees of temples and community organizations issuing a statement that everything is on the table for protecting the sanctity of temples, and if peacefuls get hurt in the process, it is on them.

Any of these things will shift discourse from passive crying that Modi is betraying us, to actively taking responsibility. And they are relatively easy to do.

@abhijitm, I’m aware of it and essentially saying the same things except thinking about political covers. The islam side knows to take out anyone who they see as open threat. Pretty much no such person makes past the MLA regardless of party affiliations. Similar in many different institutions. I had recalibrated my actions long ago and work to such plans. One can blaze out and die or assess the situation and recalibrate. Do people seriously think that Modi and shah weren’t approached umpteen times by hardliners in Gujarat to go with hard nosed approaches? They didn’t agree and neither they promised anything to such people. I told people to vote for him not because of any direct handling of muslims but for many other things like showing interest in water issues in my town. All people in my native place had figured out long ago that he did not have that direct interest in buffer zones. People in town keep voting for him and BJP and still have muslims to deal with like always. However while waiting for next bajirao, they don’t want to throw Shivaji out.

In agreement with KLN about get up and for god sake do something. There has to be initiations on Hindu side. Yes, put up cameras, run local group, request central cover and protection, etc. I have yet to walk into any big Hindu gathering and see them talk about survival. Today I called on rathyatra and locals in native town on the ground were talking about swaminarayana vs Vishnu followers. I didn’t hear anyone talking about temple security.

Today is budget day, first after election. Hope something substantial is done to refocus on growth. Lot of talk about inheritance tax. Not a fan, seems socialism, optics redux. After LTCG tax, this will be another babu driven idiocy. Only hope it's at a height/cap it doesnt affect middle class. Most families today wi be caught in a quandary , if they inherit a family property and if the tax is there but they cant pay it unless the unit gets sold! Hope there are more substantive movements elsewhere to take up the discussion. FM has already created an avoidable debate with the entire disabled veterans tax issue. Hope today is mostly positive. People expecting tax rebates will be disappointed IMO, there is no money to give. Similarly, defence budget will remain flat or with a slight hike.

Ask for armed guards at all places of worship maybe? Addresses the issue of "church and mosque attacks" by the usual suspects also.

have to be willing to pay generously for high-caliber armed guards out of community pocket. Armed guards will not be "given" if asked. What must be demanded is legal immunity for the guards if they end up having to shoot some people. Hindu lawyers who know the law and the system have to draft a proper framework for it, for discussion and negotiation. Maybe a Protection of Sacred Places Ordinance, followed by legislation. If the Hindus get the runaround from the political leadership (very likely), be prepared for street agitation focussed on these very narrow, specific, non-communal (after all,we are not saying Muslims are the miscreants,we are only saying any miscreant of any community will have to pay a drastic price if they attack sacred place) demands.

Weak people, begging and wheedling, will get nothing those in power, Modi or not. Why should Modi give anything, if he knows you are weak, and can neither help him nor hurt him? He is a master politician, if you bark and whine too much without any real organizational clout, he can just shut you down like he did the VHP etc., both in Gujarat pre-2014, and now at the Center level. Moral obligation doesn't mean much in politics. IMO Modi is playing nice with peacefuls precisely because he knows they are well-organized rascals with the ability to severely hurt his agenda. To resurrect ramana's analogy, they are a kabila that can cause a lot of damage and have to be handled with care. Even surrender may seem like a good option in the short term at least. Can outraged Hindus say honestly what they can do to Modi if he doesn't give in to their demands just for the asking? Are they powerful in the way the peaceful kabila is?

People have to be able to convince the powers that be that they themselves have the ability and power to take action, but out of a sense of responsible citizenship, are going to give the government a chance to co-operate with the rule of law system. Nothing will be given to you that you are not already capable of taking by yourself. Only negotiation is about the process and modalities.

Good question. It should come from the peacefools who vandalised the temple. And if they are short of funds, Delhi Police can also pool in some money from their secret funds (for paying informers etc.). If D.P cannot stop the temple vandalisation, at least they can help in rebuilding it.

My observation (which could be wrong). In any place where riot mongering peacefools have been dealt with in equal terms, they generally behave themselves for years to come. In Mumbai they tried their tricks first, and when the Hindus retaliated in equal measure, their tendency to gang up and riot stopped. In Gujarath after the "thanks giving" from the Hindu community, no peacefool now tries to run riot. It is only in places where Hindus do not retaliate, or act "secular" the peacefools up their ante.

Sending fools through our system is itself a punishment. These rowdy teenagers will suddenly realize their mosque committee, mullah etc are not going to dip in their pocket for paying their fees. Their dreams of being rich driver in Gelf will also require passport verification and stuff like that. Some solace for their a$$holery.

In my opinion, nothing has changed in Gujarat pre and post Godhra. If anything they have cashed in on further painting them as victims and want/force velvet glove treatment. They know very well that Hindus don't, can't, and won't be allowed to start riot. Akshardham attack is an example. Hindus were all fired up with tons of very well organized BAPS followers. But no green light was given by BAPS nor from political establishments. Islamists like to use threat of riot and cause riot once a generation for strategic reasons. If they make it a regular occurrence or even every five years, they would loose the mileage they get out of it. Even during godhra, they underestimated desire of Hindus to respond back and thought that burning the train would be enough. So they had to dial in initiations all across the major train stations in Gujarat to force the riot. However, nothing has changed to the advantage of Hindus vis a vis pre and post Godhra: FIRs were ignored before and still are, celebrations of Hindu festivals have been curtailed more in terms of routes, no changes in cow smuggling and theft, drug networks are still running along with alcohol, love jihad along with acid throwing is still there, they still go after any Hindu adversary by being able to call in hordes which is even easier now due to cell phones, arms are still there for these hordes, police doesn't enter their areas, rapes are still there and go up during navratris, etc. If anything things have become worse for Hindus in Gujarat as post Godhra all institutions have tilted in favor of islamists. Islamic hordes were never afraid of having few of their die. So there won't be any change in their behavior. If anything they use Godhra to further recruit and cash in. But certainly they are not afraid. They still walk to Hindu area and beat up whoever and go back while Hindus stand and watch. And still no Hindu beats up connected islamic goon in Hindu area forget about walking into their area. Since INC days, muslim goons run many navratri grounds and even after having BJP forever, these muslim INC goons still run these grounds and Hindus haven't been able to take it away from them. They had no problem carrying on their tasks after Godhra: from Akshardham to going after Modi/Shah. Once a generation riot bring in lot more return and that's about it. Threat of a riot has all Hindu hands tied up.

I am not from Gujarat so have no basis to comment on the ground situation there.

Based on the general national news that one gets, there have been no "major" riots in Gujarat during Modi's term after 2002. Either L&O has been tight or Yindus have been kept on a very tight leash.

The general "impression" that one gets from afar is that it is the former i.e L&O has been tight. OTOH, if Darshan saar's ground report is true, it means that Modi kept the yindus on a tight leash. Let that sink in for a moment.

In either case, Modi/BJP has kept the Gujarat situation apparently "normal" on the surface. Does anyone believe Modi will deviate from his Gujarat model to manage L&O situations?

Net-net, expect all such situation to be dealt as purely L&O issues and follow the template developed in Gujarat not matter what happens under the surface. IF Gujarat was managed by keeping yindus on a hight lease the same will be applied at the center with minor tweaks.

As noted previously, VHP and Bajrang dal have gone silent. This is not to say that they have been disbanded but just that they have been and continue to be silent. Yogi team also has gone silent in UP. BTW, this could not have been possible without the co-operation of the RSS.

So, the option for the adventurous is
1. Fight Modi politically i.e. a political party to the right of Modi
2. Fight Challenge Modi on the street i.e. form a jana sena to challenge Modi's Gujarat model for L&O.

As I have noted before, doles for the poor, L&O (Calm on the surface as in Gujarat) for the middle class and the rich and the finger for the rest. I know it sounds harsh but one has to wake up to the reality.

Again, I have no knowledge of the ground situation in Gujarat. My comments all along have just been thought experiments based on the very limited data that we all have access to via out media.

It has all to do with expectation, keep the economy moving and be a consumer in general and the goi is happy to provide conditions where such transactions occur. Thus the usage of existing consumers/ citizens to increase the tax and consumer base.L&o is a step in this direction, so your monetary contribution is expected and accepted but your demand in lieu of this other than "to do dhanda" is not on the government's agenda.
So if the common man has an issue, the only question he has to ask is how can the goi profit off this, and create a strategy accordingly.

People need to understand the population of muslims in Gujarat over time vis a vis other states. And kind of muslims residing.
Riots have gone down from being orchestrated by INC in Gujarat if that makes sense. Muslim orchestrating one was in Gujarat in a long time. It’s not in their interest to breed aggressiveness in Hindus with riots. They rather keep that option in the back pocket. Regular riots will start making Hindus arm themselves to everyone discussing muslims, history, tactics, etc. Buffer zones are still expanding everyday at steady pace. Once the muslims reach critical mass, then Gujarat isn’t going to be any different. In my native place, the buffer zones moved by 2+ km since independence. Hindus have shifted out of these areas and moved to new places on average three times. It used to be that local newspaper would list atrocities but they stopped doing it 30 years ago for political and people getting used to it as everyday issue. Technology and cameras everywhere has caused even further issues where even local police won’t help you out. Local Hindu muscle does get bumped off on regular basis like other states. One Hindu Gujarati was even extradited from UK to sent off to jail. For example, look at post akshardham how scared BAPS has become. They have gone as vanilla and benign as they come. To the point of not openly talking about why the goal for big Akshardham in Delhi was set up decades ago. That’s what increase in muslim population in Gujarat has done. No need for riots. Just keep doing tried and true method of slow pace expansion with constant tussles. And I am not pinning this on Modi. It’s just the reality of islam vs Hindus.

Here’s how things get handled:
1) sense islamic hordes coming for any random everyday thing
2) get location information on all local Hindu heavyweights
3) ask them to leave town, stay home with khaki assignment outside, or stay at police station
4) get few vans assigned at all Hindu choke points

However, they never went in the direction of how to prevent islamic hordes from coming together. Or doing what they are doing in Hindu areas in muslim area. Tie up Hindu muscle one way or another.

Though I don’t believe in VHP and Bajrang Dal type establishments in Gujarat. They never did anything for Hindus there. Everything was being done as generational pass down. For example, my family dealt with the buffer zones and that’s what we do. Bharvads go after muslim muscle and that’s what many of them still do.

When I ask people to vote for Modi, I tell them following episode. Once I asked Advani about standing in mandir with shoes on and with security detail, he shrugged it off as nothing. One can’t protect something that he doesn’t believe in. On the other hand, Modi would make sure that none such followed tradition is broken. He respects you while others get consumed by the power.

Added later: I don't want any reading walk away with assessment that Modi tied hands of Hindus. Rather that the ground realities have changed in Gujarat from the perspectives: mobility has increased, technology has changed, muslim population is on exponential growth while Hindu population is not, lot of generational history pass down on what islam is gone, etc.

This would be the most visible form of justice, rather than numerous FIRs, remand reports, charge sheets etc. being put up in umpteen number of courts.
Good to see concrete ideas coming from forum-ites. It is possible to at least imagine or hope that this could have a transformative effect.

Look af the architecture of a temple. At least in the South, it is structured like a fortress. There is a praakaaram or external security wall, with images of dwarapaalakas or security guards at the door. Inside the courtyard there is a huge sturdy dhwaja-stambham or flag pole, proclaiming protective power and supremacy.

The Lord God or Lady Goddess represents the consolidation of our love, energy and strength which should be protected and defended against asuric invading forces.

Let each temple form a Seva committee that will train and equip community youth as dwarapalakas, "rama danDus" (Rama's vanara troops for you non-Telugus) and pramatha-ganas. Let there be a global organization that keeps track of every single temple, generating, disbursing and monitoring funds, publishing and distributing training manuals, funding lawyers, publicists and lobbyists. Run it in an orderly way complete with constitution, bylaws etc. and enforcement action. (Incidentally, the demand to hand temples back to Hindus will grow teeth and fangs.)

Self-styled liberals will have their hair on fire, Muslims will at least take pause in gazwa-e-hind, and Modi will listen and hug.

Joy will prevail.

In Gujarath after the "thanks giving" from the Hindu community, no peacefool now tries to run riot. It is only in places where Hindus do not retaliate, or act "secular" the peacefools up their ante.
Darshan sir, is it true that NM literally shut down bajrang dal and VHP? His relationship with Togadia is rather well known. But did he really hunt down entire VHP and Bajrangdal as people are saying in twitter? There were reports last year or so that RSS tried to shut down yuva vahini of YA. Thinking about that, is RSS following LTTE model, wherein the LTTE didn't allow even other tamil groups to grow.

Take a step back and observe the initial reaction of Hindus after the temple attack in Delhi.

Do you see echoes of an ancient, settled cilvilized people, shocked and bewildered by the kabila's attack, their unimaginable cruelty & hitherto-unseen tactics,?and crying out to their king to come and save them?

We are now in the 21st century. Hindus are a democracy, they are the source of their king's power. Of all the hands that wield the levers of 21st century finance and technology, many are Hindu hands, and these hands can be mobilized to squeeze and choke off the lifeblood of their enemies.

Move from instinctive reaction based on racial memory to an empowered 21st century action based on today's reality.

Certainly not a sir here.
I don’t know why he would shut any one down. At least in the Gujarat they weren’t in the picture. Like I mentioned in the previous post that VHP and kind were hardly doing anything for Hindus. Pretty much everything was being done from the centuries of the experience to survive. Now all these subtleties are missing in new age and there’s not been any retooling. For example, teaching your children about what’s islam and why there’s no brotherhood with them. My family had taught me that from the beginning while explaining how they are spending whatever they can to rehabilitate families with girls in inner core of the town. We never saw an iota of help from this overtly Hindu guys with grand plans and “boiling” blood.

In my opinion, Hindus have moved on to different things and that itself shut down VHP and kind. I have never seen any of them ever show up to maintain stats quo. Next time just call them up to see if they show up for any Hindu cause. Examples speak for themselves. I have given such example on advani and his sense of entitlement when visiting temples. Similarly, people notice how Togadia moved around and how Modi did. No brainer on with whom you feel connected. Under terror of INC, people were searching for alternatives and that kept VHP like in business, once good enough alternative was found in Modi, natural death came to them. They can hit the street and with perseverance become alternative to NM if desired. Looks like they chose not to.

Leader of India's Punjab calls for sanctions against Canada if it does not crack down on Sikh extremists
Tom BlackwellTom Blackwell

Capt. Amarinder Singh has always made it clear he thinks Canada is soft on alleged Sikh extremists in this country.

The head of India’s Punjab state government once alleged the Liberal cabinet harbours four “Khalistani” advocates of an independent Sikh homeland, publicly snubbed Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan and gave Prime Minister Justin Trudeau a list of purported Sikh terrorists living here.

But Singh went even further with his critique in an unexpected statement issued this week, accusing the Canadian government of providing “overt and covert” support to the Khalistani movement, and calling on New Delhi to consider sanctions against Canada if it does not take a tougher stance.

The Punjab chief minister urged India’s national government “to mount global pressure on Canada to put an end to the use of its soil to unleash terror against India, particularly the Sikh community being targeted by Khalistani terrorists.”

“India had, for too long, been soft towards Canada and needed to crack its whip aggressively, even seek UN sanctions if needed, to end the growing threat once and for all, the Chief Minister stressed,” said the news release posted on the Punjab government’s website Monday.

Not modi saar, common man on the street. The worst thing that can happen to NM is he may lose next election. Worst thing that a common man would lose is his son or daughter.

So @sharmaAvl is detained by Delhi Police because he was organising a Hanuman Chalisa Path at the temple which was vandalised by muslim mob.

This is real fascism and we are becoming a minority in our own country.

Now, I have no idea if this it true but IF it is, it validates my theory that Modi or shall we call him "Maulana Mudi" is a L&O person and not a "cause and effect" or "Hua to hua" person. This is his post-2002 and highly successful Gujarat model of L&O for you. Prevent a flareup at all cost even at the cost of keeping the yindus on a tight leash. The model will be tweaked/updated for the place/time but the foundational aspects will not change.

Now, while I am a tad bit disappointed let me clearly state that I understand his impulse as I have been writing from the beginning. That is what 98-99% of yindus want and he will deliver it for them. Rest can look for options.

* The resigning MLAs are close aides of ex CM Siddaramaiah
* Few are even Goondas

If BJP forms Govt by joining hands with them,
Same story will repeat with BJP after 6 months

Looks like the "honeymoon" in KA is finally over.
Karnataka LIVE | MLAs heading to Raj Bhavan from Vidhana Soudha
Looks like divorce between JD(S) and INC in KA is now pretty much just a matter of time. What must be noted is that the folks who have created ruckus this time around are NOT the usual suspects. The Congress and JD(S) had a "KD List" of MLAs who they said had chances of defecting. Folks like Ramalinga Reddy were not in that list. My only hope & prayers is that Shri. Yeddy & Co just remain silent, when these things are happening.

The twitter post you shared was about the detention of @sharmaAvl by Dilli Pulis when he was to organise a Hanuman Chalisa at the desecrated temple. I don't know how any one can blame N.Modi or A.Shah for this move from the D.P. "Detention" (which is NOT arrest) is an action taken by the police men on the ground after assessing the situation on the ground (and it is subjective to their assessment). This would most likely be carried out by some police official in the rank of an ASI or an SI, who would have consulted the Inspector of Police (his immediate superior), and then may be the Asst. CP of the Sub Division. These are the moves which even the Commissioner of Police cannot predict or given advance notice off. And people start blaming the elected Prime Minister & Home Minister for the "detention" ??

In KL today, as I write this another "death in lockup" has happened. No one is asking the Chief Minister (holding home portfolio as well) to resign. That is because it is obvious that he cannot be aware of what is happening at police stations on 24/7 basis. His job is not that.

So my dear friends; if any one of you are hoping that A.Shah or Na.Mo would come on the police wireless and categorically say that Hindus can run berserk in New Delhi citing the temple desecration issue, and the Dilli Police should just watch the fun, they are going to be sadly mistaken. If that is the type of governance which Na.Mo and BJP fans are expecting, then perhaps they should vote for some one else. On this "detention" issue, it is up to the local (I mean Panchayath, Local corporator level stuff) BJP leadership (!?) to mediate with the local SI, Inspector and ACP and sort out the issues and get the chap out on "station bail". If they are hoping Na.Mo (Prime Minister) and A.Shah (Home Minister) to talk to the local police sub inspector (A non-gazetted official and a jr. police officer), then there is some thing seriously wrong in their thought process.

+1. One of the biggest issues for Hindus is that the survival from the islamic their daily decision over past few decades. Local law enforcement is one of the weakest links. Talking about Gujarat, it used to be that one stayed and built houses with hordes in the mind. Now days people are living in all distributed fashion and sitting ducks counting on local law enforcement. When one picks up the map and takes a look, it’s clear that there would be lot of casualties on Hindu side while the core of islamic hordes would stay untouched even if Hindus counter launched any attack. All it will take is few local law enforcement elements to fail (irrelevant of the reason why and who’s responsible). Hindus of today are increasingly aping west where interactions between neighbors is weakening and concept of localities is waning. It used to be that one discussed and paid attention to various issues affecting your community which has disappeared. For example, when growing up we built communities with location of the incoming hordes in mind; choking points; how and who will respond; etc. Now days Hindus don’t even discuss islamic hordes even in Mandirs. Local youth doesn’t have any clue on how to keep area secure themselves alone. If law enforcement showed up, then cake on icing. However, one can’t rely on it just based on common sense alone of distribution of population vis a vis not that high increase in the number of law enforcement pieces. All this is irrespective of who’s at the helm. Whoever is at the helm does not live forever and fight is centuries long and civilizational. Islamic followers haven’t gone of the script but Hindus have and Islamic population has only increased many times.

P.S.: I grew up looking at how to keep buffer zones in tact and not loose people and naturally my daily job is also on related subjects so I approach problem from such perspectives. I study past, present and look at the future. Focus on the weak links in the chain. I don’t care who’s responsible for the weak links or caused it. I look at Conops in front of me and figure out how to keep things secure and minimize losses.
