there will be a slow burn in cashmere coincidental with the ameriki withdrawal from the afpak region.

The amerikis will beef up their paki embassy as well as step up drone overflights and satellite surveillance to watch the pakis primarily.

the hans will now openly come into the mix with the iranians playing a side role and russia waiting in the wings.

India will face resistance both in afghanistan as well as chabahar as the iranians are displeased with both the saudi and russki investments in India and the implications to their oil sales to India.

The saudis will have board seats in reliance after the deal is sealed and if need be will undercut the iranians in supplying crude to India.

They now have assured access to massive supplies from reliance for downstream products to pursue other markets of interest to them.

the iranians will soon find themselves between a rock and a hard place as their India market starts to reduce/dry up as their sourish crude is harder to process than the saudi sweet crude.

That programme was lousy, and the host was generally not sympathetic, though not hostile either, to India. Yah that Pakistani was horrendous. The Kashmiri lady was totally oblivious to the Kashmiri Hindus, to Ladakh, and to cross border and domestic Islamist terror.

Is there any media outlet out that is non judeo Christian , pro Islamic or Chinese controlled ?

Toronto sun and tagtv swarajya are the only ones that come to mind

How can viewership of the anti Bharat press be deflated.

There two ways a few anomalous pro India stories could get ratings up or get some kind of boycott so they ratings are impacted.

Baki-Cheeni control of Shakshgam Valley+Gilgit/Baltistan enables China to enter into CAR.
Chinese have access to CAR from Kashgar they don't need Shakshgam valley for that. The only reason they need to be there is to needle India. Nehru chacha was taken for a ride by both the British and the Chinese. Pakis are mere pawns in the scheme of things.

Most such interviews have a template - get the disgruntled who can produce an account of their victimhood. There should be no balance in the narration.

However, the environment is conducive for the Kashmiri Hindus to now speak of their experience.
There is little sympathy among the average westerner or their political classes for a another tale of victimisation by Muslims.

Indians need to subtly push the buttons of the London transport attacks, Osama Bin Laden, the west's wars with Iraq, Syria, Libya etc. They can draw a parallel with Bradford or Texas. That is, India can learn much from how the UK handles Bradford in the coming years, even more how the US handles the native population of the areas taken in the Mexico wars.

The GOI has discouraged the Hindus' narrative in Kashmir. The terms of effective media management are straight forward. Present yourself as worthy of sympathy, intellectual or legalistic arguments are self defeating-there is little more preposterous as a thick Indian accent spouting pedantry.

Just let a beautiful young fair skinned Kashmiri Hindu woman narrate the antecedents of the present situation; care should be taken to express solicitude for all communities. Slip into the conversation the celebrations in Ladakh and Jammu. Mention the Bakarwals. State the hope that all can live with everyone's rights respected.

For that, think Free Uighuristan and Free Tibet. Explicit war with PeeAllSee is not a desirable thing. At best will come out with fur seriously scratched. Permanent favorable realignment of territory very very unlikely as long as PeeAllSee is an integral supelpowel. But the above scenario is IMO much more realistic than one may realize. Consider that Uighiristan neighbors include several Islamic-dominated states. They were biss-boor after SU collapse, but they do have oil and nukes, and can rise to the level of a Pakistan in trouble-making potential for cheen. Sooner than later the present lovey-dovey between Putin and Eleven will end (may be already, I don't know). I think cheen has SERIOUS issues in Uighuristan. As for Tibet, that's tougher, no immediate destabilizing influence at least until Balochistan is free. :)
But cheen central goon gang may be less stable than we think, primarily due to internal love and comradeship. DT is giving the odd shove from time to time. Already I think whoever took the pakis' wet hanky to the UNSC to demand close door etc, must in serious face-loss accountability. Maybe packing for that long trip in the cattle car to the Gobi already. Look at this way: in recent past they had to bend on the Masood Azhar Terrorist Award. Now this. In the old days the Beijing rag would have yelled "VELY VELY VELY GLAVE CONSEQUENCES!!

Demonstrates that India has increased its global power and reach -- no longer intersted in words of praise from the white media. USA never carried about the press when it fought in Vietnam, Central America, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. UK never cared what was written when it brutally surpressed the Catholics in Northern Ireland, China continually gives the West the finger.

I remember reading in the NYT back in the 1980s that the reason India was builiding a railroad along the Arabian Sea was to bring Hindus into Catholic regions. Having the NYT as an enemy means that you are doing something right.

Back in Ulan Bator after a long trip along the Silk Route, Jute Route etc. From a quick poll of the news I gather that there is nothing happening in J&K. A few stones left on some road from a past cricket practice. A few whinos.
Indian news outlets have no news on J&K, except what they parrot from Reuters/AFP (about their OWN country???)
Which means nothing worth reporting.
YAWN...

See
The HUNDI: Nothing on webpage about any disturbance in J&K.
The IndianExpress: there is ONE item, 6 hours old:
J-K: Curbs further eased in 50 police stations, 2G internet services suspended again
The decision was taken in a bid to avoid the circulation of fake news on social networking sites. Restrictions on the movement of people were eased and landline phone services were restored in some areas of the Valley on Saturday.
TimesOfIndia has one report saying Curbs back after stone-throwing.

OK, so the message is simple: Stop the stone-throwing or stay indoors for the next year or two, until PORK can be liberated and all the stone-throwers exported there. Otherwise Indian Main stream media has lost interest in the whinings of the KVM.

Islamabad
Pakistan Army :rotfl: on Sunday said the authorities have taken up the issue of suspension of some Twitter and Facebook accounts posting about the Kashmir issue with the social media giants.

Four Twitter handles were suspended for allegedly spreading anti-India propaganda on Jammu and Kashmir following a request by security agencies, Indian officials said in New Delhi on Monday this week.

Four more social media accounts are expected to be blocked soon for allegedly being engaged in similar activities, they had said.

Pakistan Army spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor on Sunday tweeted, "Pakistan authorities have taken up case with Twitter & Facebook against suspending Pakistani accounts for posting in support of Kashmir."

He said the reason behind the suspension of social media accounts was Indian employees working at the regional headquarters of Facebook and Twitter.

"Indian staff at their (Twitter and Facebook) regional Headquarters is the reason (for suspension of the accounts)," Ghafoor said, urged people to post information about accounts suspended by the two social networking sites.

Facebook has the greatest number of fact checking partners in India, followed by the US, according to the Poynter Institute, a non-profit journalism school and research organisation located in Florida.

Ghafoor's statement comes as #StopSuspendingPakistanis was trending on Twitter in Pakistan. Over the last one week, multiple Pakistanis have taken to Twitter to report that accounts were being suspended after they posted about Kashmir.

The stone throwing areas need to have internet, mobile and fuel, water and food supplies cut..
Not enough to be overtly draconian but inconvenient and sluggish enough (lines, queues, affidavits, triplicate documents etc)

where one has to seriously think.. should I gather stones or get some water or make a phone call.

With fuel rationed the stone throwers will get localized closer to their home turf.

Such neighborhoods will get "humane" feedback without any injury or loss of life.

Why does random foreigner pay attention to news like that about Article 370?

1. Busy body
2. Academic of certain fields of study
3. Student doing an unusual term paper
4. Because it is on the news (BBC, Fox, CNN, ...)
...
N. People keeping track of their India investments

IMO it is the last class that is relevant in that they have some impact on the ground. The best way to make sure the news is accurate is that when it isn’t they miss out on investment opportunities, prematurely cash out, etc., etc.

Banished from his own land

the author has covered some aspects of the accession
Maharaja Hari Singh acceded J&K to India but was expelled two years after the accession. He breathed his last in exile
poignant
April 26, 1961. The news of Maharaja Hari Singh's passing away was broken by the All India Radio on April 26, 1961, plunging the region and the Dogras into a state of shock and confusion. Shock, because he was loved across caste lines in the region; and confusion since they did not know where they should go for mourning. There was no one in the palace. Yuvraj Karan Singh and his wife were on a trip to Europe, and the Maharani was in Kasauli. The mourners marched to the residence of Pandit Prem Nath Dogra of Praja Parishad, hoping he would be able to guide them. No one knows how the decision was taken, but the mourners ended up forming a surreal funeral procession, which had neither the dead, nor the family of the deceased. The procession proceeded to the funeral grounds by the banks of Tawi, where the funeral rites were performed. No smoke came out of any hearth that evening as a sign of love and respect for the departed soul. However, the state government refused to share the grief of the Dogras. The radio station played songs and the state flag continued to flutter. This was provocative, and the demonstrating youth reacted. They marched to the civil secretariat and attempted to bring down the flag to half-mast, but the police responded by firing at them.
painful
After taking over as the Prime Minister, Sheikh Abdullah started usurping all powers, ignoring the existence of the Maharaja. He started issuing a series of statements intended to humiliate and malign the Maharaja, and painted him as unpatriotic. In order to avoid embarrassment, the Maharaja wrote to Patel on May 6, 1949, and proposed that the Government of India find a suitable position in Delhi where his services could be utilised in a befitting manner, but there was no response. Under pressure from Sheikh Abdullah, the Maharaja was called to Delhi and was asked to desist from returning to the state, and was finally exiled. Thus, the Maharaja was banished from his own land, which had neither the sanction of law nor of political morality.

this is a good time to build up some local infrastructure like widen roads, lay down underground cables for electric supply so that winter snow does not disrupt electric supply. May also help KMs who support GoI but are afraid to speak up also have some brownie points to speak for.

Actually pakistan army is also petrified that these steps and conditional freedom of movement based upon good civic behaviour could actually be such a success that it could take the wind out of azadi stone pelters and make them a social misfit instead of the widely revered heroes they were until the other day.

Maharaja Hari Singh was betrayed by his own. Did anyone in Jammu region or KP's ever mention the last King after abdication. heck they could not even get a decent monument for him. Rememeber these were the dogras whose kith and clans had been in position of power for last 150 years.

It is easier to lament what was lost but did anyone agitate to bring him back to the state ?

Nehru of course hated him (actually he was no friend of even Abdullah) and wanted to be all-in-all of Kashmir.
Abdullah did what any politician would do when so much closer to absolute power.
I remember a short story in our Hindi book in 7th standard where Maharaja was shown to be a coward, inept and greedy who ran away from Kashmir with his gold and money during Par_i attack. Never saw anyone even objecting to it.

Please correct me if I am wrong. The very discriminatory laws (like no property share for women who marry non-Kashmirs etc.) was rolled out even when Kashmiri Pandits were in the valley? And they too supported these fantastic laws as that ensured that they too get a chance for privileged treatment? But for the Pandits the surprise when the peacefools turned the guns on them, and then it was time to run.

Yes, these were pre independence laws put in by the Maharaja, mainly at the request of the Dogra/Pandit community.

I have a different view on KM society. What I have observed is that these people are of tribal mentality. Which means their day begins with how to feed the family and get through the basic needs of living. As oppose to Modi's assertions I do not see them 'aspirational'. May be 10% of them truly are aspirational which can be equated to similar aspirations of hindus. But majority look different. They are poor (in comparison to rest of India) but they are not hungry. Food is aplenty in Kashmir. These tribals' basic needs like education, healthcare, clothes also being taken care of and those don't cost them huge money which could have fuelled aspiration. And since these needs are fulfilled they have plenty of time in their hand for all their other hobbies like stone pelting etc to earn surplus money. Brining them back in the mainstream will be tricky.

Also, aspiration comes from competitiveness. If the entire homogenous society of KM is not competitive then there is no peer pressure within families to push their kids for greater success. This competitiveness is extermely important for the feeling of 'aspiration'. I don't see a sign of that in majority of KM in last 2 decades when rest of the India was growing fast. There was no inner push from these tribal youths to be a part of the success.

In nuteshell -
1) It is difficult to fuel aspiration in tribal society
2) You can't scare them. Tribals usually don't respond well to threats. Take example of naxal infested tribal areas.
3) You can't bribe them because their need is limited. You can only bribe an aspirational society with goodies.
4) You can't bribe them with education and job, because that doesn't fit in their need. Very small % will come with you but a large will remain uninterested
5) You can brainwash them slowly since they have empty mind and plenty of time in hand. But these guys already are brainwashed by our enemy. Now it would be mountainous job to make them unlearn the brainwashing.
6) It is difficult to convince them to be a part of larger group when they identify themselves as 'differnt race' from mainland people.

Is there a case study in the world where brainwashed tribal society like KM is assimilated in mainstream over the time?

Education, job will definitely bring small portion of them in mainstream but my worry remains for the KM society as a whole.

This one is born as a KASHMIRI HINDU!!! What an oiseule!
Must be thick with the Lashkar-e-Toiba because he claims he still owns property and has friends and family in KV.
I wonder if fellow KH-log could pls do the honors and teach him a few things?
