VIROLOGY UNIT GUTTED

The Microbiology department's virology unit on the second floor of the teaching block has been completely gutted, sources said.

Sources said the fire spread to the Emergency Lab in the department of Lab Medicine, which is adjacent to the Microbiology department's virology unit, where electricity work was going on for some time and cable and wire being used were kept, they said.

Patients' samples come to the virology unit and Lab Medicine department for testing.

Sources said it is suspected that a large number of samples and patient records have been destroyed as the virology unit has been completely gutted.

There was a major terror threat in South India. The navigator for the terror module is suspected to be a Malayali who worked out of Bahrain. He landed up with a woman a couple of days back. The woman was the first to surrender to the police; following which the Malayali man also tried to surrender at a local court. The police whisked him away before his surrendering at the court.

The man says he is innocent and that he was only trying to save a woman from the 'hotel mafia' of Bahrain. He and the woman had returned together. The man also says he was questioned by the Bahrain CID (which also means they alerted the Indian intelligence agencies).

Man, woman taken in custody suspecting terror links, found innocent: Police.
Looks like the arrest of the Kerala based man and the woman who he accompanied back to India was based on a wrong lead. He seems to have got entangled with the se-x mafia operating out of the Middle Eastern countries. How ever it is a bit hard to believe that who ever tipped off on the ISIS jehadis landing from Sri Lanka, named this man as the navigator. Why pick on this chap? And how did the person tipping off was able to connect the two?

If he surrendered at the court, then the court can decide on the next steps. He can be sent on police remand, judicial remand and even on bail. If the last two scenarios happen, the police will not get a chance to properly interrogate the person. The police wanted to pick him up before he makes a scene in the court.

The uniformed police picked him up from the court premises. NIA, IB and MI have said to been interrogating him & the woman. 24 hours over, nothing major found. They would be released soon.

Though the news report try to paint a different picture the truth remains exactly that; the truth. The police force work 24/7 on the ground and their appreciation of basic reality would be certainly better than the Ph.Ds, "Doctors", "self-declared intellectuals" sitting in glass houses and day dreaming.

Indian Troops in Jammu & Kashmir

For a long time, Pakistan has peddled that Indian has 700,000 troops in Kashmir.

However, after the recent abrogation of Article 370 and GOI inducting more CAPF into J&K, absolutely rubbish numbers about strenght of Indian security forces have started appearing in Indian and foreign press.

One Indian journalist writing in Deccan Chronicle and Asian Age claimed that India has 1 million soldiers in J&K!

Others like The Wire, after initially claiming the same number as above, dialed it down to 'half a million'. Foreign press, including worthies like Al Jazeera, Guardian and Forbes are all claiming 'half a million' troops in J&K.

To bust this propaganda, I've done a detailed analysis on the number of Indian security personnel in J&K.

No one talks about deployment of Pakistan Army in AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan. And how Indian Army has to maintain troops in J&K to meet threats from Pakistan as well as China.

In the analysis I've done a detailed assessment of the deployment of Pakistan Army to brigade level. And the kind of numbers Indian Army has to maintain to counter this threat.

Doing this separates the troops strength from numbers deployed for actual Counter Insurgency Ops (CI Ops) - For CI Ops, I've done an assessment of the RR, CRPF, Army (in CI Ops) and other CAPF.

So it is two terror threats in a matter of two weeks. But with commandos landing and then moving into interior parts of India may not be a possibility. Their targets would then be local (to the area of landing).

Five cattle smugglers who had allegedly shot at the 23-year-old Sonpal aka Sonu on 21st August, have been arrested. Sonu was shot by cow thieves after he tried to stop some butchers and smugglers trying to load a stolen pickup van.

According to police, five men were arrested and they all are believed to be involved in various other crimes as well. Superintendent of Police Manoj Sonkar said that one of the accused was previously booked for attempting to run over a sub-inspector by a cattle-laden vehicle in Shahjahanpur district three years ago.

On Sunday, the police had tried to stop down the vehicle of the accused near Lelhar-Bamrauli road. But, three members opened fire at the police officers. The police then chased down them and arrested them. The police searched the vehicle to recover a live cattle, country-made pistols and two-live cartridges.

During questioning the trio confessed to murdering Sonpal and also revealed the names of their two accomplices. The police later arrested them from Shahjahanpur district.

The accused have been identified as Raviulla, Ishtiaq, Mohammad Hasib, Farid and Menhadi Hassan. They are said to be repeat offenders and Hasib has 14 pending cases against him.

ISI agents copy hi-tech features in latest Rs 2000 fake notes.

As Special Cell of Delhi Police unravel the Pakistani links in the smuggling of high-quality Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN), the ongoing investigation has upset the Indian security establishment. The key concern is the startling fact that Pakistan-based crime syndicates have copied the most exclusive security features of Rs 2,000 Indian currency notes, a feat not possible without the connivance of the state machinery.

For the first time, the FICN seized by Special Cell proves that 'Optical Variable Ink' used by India in printing Rs 2000 notes has also been used by the Pakistan operatives. "Its a very high quality special ink, which gives a colour shift effect. On the front side of Rs 2000 note, the colour of thread changes from green to blue when the note is tilted," told an official of the Special Cell to IANS.

Sources said that hi-tech Optical Variable Ink is used in the new series of fake notes, reportedly being printed at Pakistan security press in Malir Halt, Karachi. Sources said during investigation it was revealed that notes are being printed under the supervision of senior officials of Pakistan's spy agency, the Inter services Intelligence (ISI). One of the prominent distributors of ISI is India's most wanted fugitive Dawood Ibrahim's infamous Dcompany, which also operates from Karachi.

The investigation reveals that another prominent security feature copied for the first time by ISI operatives is the raised bleed lines printed on the extreme left and right side of the note. These raised lines are identification marks, meant for the visually impaired people.

six months back, the FICN seized in India did not have such hi-tech security features. "They have now even copied the exploding series numbers printed on the right hand bottom of the notes. For instance, in newly seized Rs 2000 notes, bearing series '7FK' the series is printed in exploded formation. Hitherto, these features were absent on FICN, enabling anyone to detect them with naked eyes," said the official.

After demonetisation in 2016, the circulation of FICNs from Pakistan remained almost shut for a long period. However, in the first week of June this year, a huge consignment of FICN amounting to Rs 7.67 crore was seized by Nepal police at Tribhuwan Airport in Kathmandu. The seizure alarmed the agencies in New Delhi as for the first time, the consignment arriving from Karachi via Qatar carried high quality FICN.

"The latest seizure of notes made by Special Cell has a more upgraded version of FICN. It seems that Optical Variable Ink, is being smuggled through the connivance of the state-run printing press in Pakistan from a multi-national company which supplies this ink only to federal governments. It is a serious security breach," said an official of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence.

On August 24, a Special Cell team led by DCP Pramod Kumar Singh Kushwaha trapped a D-company agent Aslam Ansari from Nehru place in Delhi and recovered FICN worth over Rs 5.50 lakh. In the first glimpse, police sleuths could not verify the authenticity of the Rs 2000 notes as they carried almost all the security marks including thread, water marks and other features. Later the currency experts confirmed that notes seized by the Special Cell were high quality FICN.

Earlier Company in Germany supplying the paper for currency notes had compromised India's interests and supplied the same paper to Pakistan and now that India has taken steps to print notes on indigenous paper the ink suppliers have gone rogue.

NRC Assam list is out. Only 1.9 million has been excluded from the original 4.1 million initially. Seems weird that 2.2 million will have been excluded by mistake. There may be serious flaws in the NRC list. Needs to be re-checked.

Why? The ink suppliers aren't at fault here. They supply to federal governments. It is the Paki govt that uses the ink to print Indian currency.

The National Register of Citizens was first prepared in Assam in 1951. The 1951 NRC is said to have covered each and every person enumerated during the Census of 1951 in Assam.

The final list of NRC in Assam comes 14 years after the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh chaired a meeting between the central government, the Assam government and the All Assam Students Union (AASU) where a consensus was developed that the National Register of Citizens should be updated to honour the promises made in the Assam Accord of 1985.

Last year, when the second draft of the NRC was released on June 30, a huge controversy erupted as nearly 40 lakh people in Assam were excluded from the NRC.

Over the past decades, there were demands that the National Register of Citizens should be updated in Assam. These demands stemmed in the wake of cross-border illegal migration into Assam, primarily from Bangladesh, which has been repeatedly resented by the locals. Opposition to this unchecked illegal inflow of people has resulted in bouts of violence and state-wide protests in the past.

Identification, detention and deportation of such immigrants was a major demand over which the All Assam Students Union (AASU) launched a 6-year movement which ended with the signing of the Assam Accord in 1985.

The #NRC is a Supreme Court-mandated and strictly monitored exercise.

As many as 300 tribunals have been set up and the 1.9 million whose names are missing can approach these in the next 4 months, after which they can appeal to the High Court.

Supreme Court has destroyed NRC totally and diluted the whole objective of NRC till now.

The objective was to weed out illegal migrants and deport it to host country but this exercise have not been done.

Instead All Illegal Migrants have been identified and their documentation have been done. On the other hand Hindus majorly Bengalis and Assamese , Bodo’s and many ethnic tribes are named in Exclusion List of NRC. What I am reading if true then it is worst thing done in Assam @narendramodi ji Blunder is about to happen in Assam. STOP IT

Times Now has learned that at a secret meeting in 2005, the UPA government had acknowledged the threat posed by illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.

New Delhi: Even as the Congress party mounted its attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday over the draft National Register of Citizens in Assam, it has emerged that 13 years back, it was the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre that had expressed fears over the presence of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Assam. In fact, it was feared that Assam could one day have a Bangladeshi chief minister.

Times Now has learned from a deep throat in the UPA-1 government that a secret meeting was held in 2005 under the chairmanship of then prime minister Manmohan Singh on national security, at which Congress leaders had acknowledged the threat posed by illegal immigrants. The meet was specifically called to discuss the influx of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Assam.

At the same meeting, two senior United Progressive Alliance ministers had apprised the top government leadership about the demographic change Assam was undergoing and how the time was not far when the northeastern state could have a Bangladeshi CM.

P Chidambaram had at the meeting held at the PM’s residence – 7, Race Course Road - stressed on the need to have strict visa rules in place for Bangladeshis. Pranab Mukherjee had supported Chidambaram and even suggested that the same could be the situation in West Bengal if the problem was not taken care of.

This is in stark contrast to the stand adopted now by the Congress party on the issue of Assam NRC. The opposition party has blamed the ruling BJP for distorting the process of Assam's NRC to derive political gains.
It also slammed the BJP and its chief Amit Shah for seeking to brand any questions on the process as a support to illegal Bangladesh immigrants. Congress has said that the NRC should reflect the aspirations of the Assamese people and not become a tool in the hands of a few to divide the society.

"The issue that the Congress is highlighting is that a large number of Indians have been rendered as refugees in their own country and this was unacceptable," Congress leader Anand Sharma said.

with all the NRC exercise, we did have some numbers on our mind. I wonder if we even gave a thought to what next after the NRC exercise. BD is not going to take them for sure. BTW what about those who have moved in to different states like Delhi Seelumpur is flush with these guys, similarly many pockets of Gurgaon. In fact in early 2000s these guys gheraoed and burnt a police station after a BD was picked up by Delhi police. Not sure if English media reported but hindi media definitely reported it...

It seems more than half of the 19 lakhs are Bengali Hindus. It seems Muslim organizations worked overtime to provide Bengali / Bangladeshi Muslims with documents real or forged. Poor Hindu migrants are between devil and deep sea. Bengali Hindus should be given refugee status.

i think all the mullahs on the NRC should be off voting lists and any property in their names needs to be confiscated as a starter.

Arjun, national NRC will come in 2-3 years but they need to fix the system first as it clearly was bypassed in Assam. Anyone looking at the demographic data can tell that M pop cannot go from 25% to 35% without illegal immigration. Even 7% extra means 2 million illegal Ms which is near what was caught in July 2018. But they have somehow managed to manipulate the system and gain entry in 2019.

As for what happens to illegals there are enough pressure points to force them to go back to Bdesh.
