Uddhav will be making a big mistake if he doesn't support the CAB in RS. His nationalist vote is going to desert him in a jiffy.

Looks like BJP has number in RS. SS's 3 members may not make dent in the deal. However, if SS doesn't support bill it is terrible injustice to their founder Bal Thackeray.

https://www.news18.com/news/politics/wh ... 19167.html

As it stands right now, the BJP has 83 MPs in the Rajya Sabha, while its NDA partners — All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam or AIADMK (11), Lok Janshakti Party or LJP (1), Republican Party of India (Athawale) or RPI(A) (1), Shiromani Akali Dal or SAD (3), JD(U) (6), Asom Gana Parishad or AGP (1), Bodoland People's Front or BPF (1), and Paattali Makkal Katchi or PMK (1) — take the total number to 108. Among non-NDA members which supported the Bill in the Lok Sabha are Biju Janata Dal or BJD (7), Shiv Sena (3), YSR Congress Party or YSRCP (2), and Telugu Desam Party or TDP (2).

Additionally, four of the six Independent MPs and three of the four nominated MPs are likely to support the Bill, which takes the number of those in favour of the bill, on paper, to 129. With 121 votes needed to pass the Bill in the house, which has an effective strength of 240, the BJP seems to have the support it needs.

Michael Kugelman Verified account @MichaelKugelman

Today, Indian Home Minister Amit Shah said: "There is no persecution of Muslims in #Pakistan."

Is he unfamiliar with the history of Shias and Ahmadis there?
What a curious way to defend New Delhi's proposed new citizenship law.
Amit Shah, seeing eye to eye w/Pak nationalists.

From Wikipedia page on the bill:
The Bill amends the Citizenship Act of 1955 to make illegal migrants who are Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, who entered India on or before 31 December 2014, eligible for Indian citizenship.

Yes. But I did not hear of the Ahmadiyyas as they are no longer Muslim and have become a minority community . I am sure they would like to return back to India. I have met some Pakistani Christians in America. They are helped by the church to come to the Khan land.

There will be a long and detailed verification process for all refugees in the minority category.

As always foreign muslims can apply for naturalization through normal channels and take their chances like everyone else.

CAB notwithstanding, nothing is guaranteed.

The ahmadiyyas claim themselves as muslim and their practices and beliefs are overwhelmingly muslim.

they are approx 200 million strong world wide.

how do they become minority in pak where even shia are not considered muslim enough.

they convert others and believe that their way is the only way.

they can go to other islamic countries or fight for their own share in pakiland.

they cannot and should not be covered under the Indian CAB.

As some body already mentioned Shias, Ahmadiyyas, Rohingyas are Muslims but for other Muslims they are not Muslim enough. So it would be better for Muslims to sit around, discuss and sort out their issues. The conflicts between them cannot be attributed as one religion v/s another religion.

Every sect of Islam consider itself as Islamic only. As long as they follow Islam of their own version they can not say they are not Muslims.

This bill has much deeper ideological and policy implications in many areas. Very much similar to the Parliament unanimous resolution of entire state of J&K being part of India. Any one remembered or cared for it that till AS kicked a&& doing Art 370 debate and now with Indo-Afghan border statement? CAB is similar to that.

Lef-Lib (new word for Left Liberals) understood this better than mango BJP voters. Hence the rudali weepings.

Statue of Unity surpasses daily average footfall at USA's Statue of Liberty

06 Dec 2019

The Statue of Unity is a statue of Vallabhbhai Patel, the first home minister of the country.

With a height of 182 metres, it is the world's tallest statue.

NEW DELHI : In just over a year of its unveiling, the Statue of Unity has surpassed the footfall at the 133-year-old Statue of Liberty in the US, with an average of over 15,000 tourists visiting the monument in Gujarat daily.

"With 74 per cent increase over the daily average of the first year, that is, November 1, 2018 to October 31, 2019, daily average of 15,036 is now registered in the first month of this second year.

"This has further increased to 22,430 on weekend days. The Statue of Liberty of New York, United States, attracts around 10,000 visitors a day!" a statement by Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd said.

The Statue of Unity is a statue of Vallabhbhai Patel, the first home minister of the country. With a height of 182 metres, it is the world's tallest statue.

It is located near the Sardar Sarovar Dam on the river Narmada in Kevadiya colony in Gujarat.

Designed by Indian sculptor Ram V Sutar, the project was first announced in 2010, and was finally unveiled on October 31 last year by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In the statement, Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd credited the rise in footfall at the monument to the addition of several new tourist attractions such as jungle safari, children's nutrition park, cactus garden, butterfly garden, ekta nursery, dino trail, river rafting, boating, alongside multiple budget accommodation options.

"These additional tourist attractions have led to a sharp increase in the daily tourists' footfall during November 2019," it said.

It also added that a total of 30,90,723 tourists have visited Kevadia till November 30 this year, generating a total income of ₹85.57 crore.

CAB
In all the brouhaha and the usual 'Galate' as we say in kannnada, one thing that thing that is being missed:
Why the liberandus want 'peaceful' not be excluded. :((
My take is if not in two years but in the next decade there is going to be an implosion in napak due to various reasons.
That would lead to a mass migration of the 'unwashed Abduls' and will be in only one direction,
The 'Troika' know about this and are forwarding planning to stop them at the gates. :D
And the liberandus also know and want to maintain and open gate!!
Beedi 'gussbhaiti' is just a smoke screen??
Any take on this by the 'Strategic Experts' on the forum please :?:

We live in a country where there is more outrage over BJP fulfilling promises mentioned in it's manifesto like NRC, CAB, scrapping Art370, etc than Congress forgetting their promises like loan waiver, unemployment allowance, etc.

Really Fascinating.

Note ...

ALWAYS keep that in mind when face to face with any gyan form the West. The "Christian theology & history" is so pervasive that even great "Atheist", who actually dislike their religion of birth, end up evangelizing the "Christian theology & history" unknowingly!

Steven Pinker @sapinker

The claim that morality depends on religion is both logically incoherent (Plato’s Euthyphro) and factually incorrect. The two greatest moral statements in the history of our species are 100% secular: UDHR, & UN Sustainable Development Goals. (Eliminating extreme poverty!)
To which the author of the "New history of Christianity - ‘Dominion’"
Tom Holland @holland_tom

The great thing about disguising culturally contingent assumptions bred of Christian theology & history as somehow universal is that you might even get famous atheists to evangelise them for you!
This is what I had pointed out earlier about RSS & Modi. They too have adopted certain "key constructs" from the "Abrahamics" into their theology in the name of "modernity".
