No Sikh threatened, fight was between 2 Muslim groups: Pakistan - ToI
Explanation like 'short circuit in air vacuum'Pakistan interior ministry tried to pass off the incident as literally a “fly in a teacup”. According to them, two men, Saqlain and Mumtaz Ali, visited a tea shop near the gurdwara and complained of a fly in their tea. In response, the owners — Zaman (Hassan’s uncle), Iftikhar and Adnan (Hassan’s brother) —attacked them, resulting in a scuffle.

What about the cries of “ Sikhan, main aarehyaan?”
Did Niazi just realise he’ll have to go through 1 billion Hindus to get at the Sikhs?

See, when a country has convinced its febrile citizens that they have defeated Hindustan in all wars (see that reaction of the anchor in the video posted in the previous page when Nur Khan admits that all wars were initiated by 'us'), that Kashmir is the 'jugular vein', that Djinns will catch all the falling bombs from IAF planes in a net, that a PAF pilot shot down 5 IAF fighters in one go, that they are on top at Siachen etc. etc., then claiming this attack on Nankana Sahib Gurdwara as a local fight over a fly in a teacup is absolutely no big deal. Par for their course.

Without any governmental and community support, such act can’t take place,” said Maheshinder Singh Grewal. A large number of Muslims had gathered and shouted anti-Sikh slogans outside the Nankana Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan's Punjab on January 03. Earlier, stones were also pelted at the Gurdwara led by the family of a boy who had allegedly abducted a Sikh girl Jagjit Kaur, daughter of the Gurdwara's panthi. The protesters also threatened to destroy the gurdwara and build a mosque in its place.

KARACHI: The government of Pakistan released 20 Indian fishermen as a gesture of goodwill from the Malir District Prison on Sunday.

“We were arrested at sea by the Pakistan Coast Guard for crossing over to Pakistan waters in November 2018. At the time we braced ourselves for the worst. But our 14 months in jail has helped clear all misconceptions about this country we used to view as our enemy earlier,” said Indian fisherman Gir Somnath on his release from prison.
“Whatever we used to hear about Pakistan in the news when we were in India seemed like a piece of fiction while doing time in jail here,” he added.
“We are taking back with us good memories of Malir jail. We never felt like we were in another country here. The jail staff was kind to us. They told us that they knew that we were here due to our ill fate. We were not real criminals so they were not treating us as such while extending all kinds of facilities to us,” he added. After the release of these fishermen, there are 199 Indian prisoners remaining in the jail of whom 189 are fishermen and 10 happen to be civilians.

The only hope, and time tested policy, for terroristan..
Hope against hope
Hope against hope
The economy shrank in 2019 as the policy of stabilisation was actively pursued. With the IMF package, the external sector was moderately managed and the rupee held its ground after a free fall. Higher taxes, falling wages, inflation and fewer jobs did test the endurance of households though. The political chaos, Chinese reluctance, IMF’s pressure and the lack of enthusiasm in the private sector were still adding to the worries.
There is a flying chance that competing powers — the United States and China — indulge in a price war over the money bag dedicated for Pakistan. Its dividends will certainly be huge. Remember the dollar windfall following the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 and how the West rediscovered Pakistan after it joined the war on terror in 2001?
Re: Terroristan - November 11, 2019

GUTTERSNIPES OF THE TERRORISTANI ARMED FORCES, BUREAUCRATS, POLITICIAN AND RELIGIOUS LEADERSHIP!
PTI minister Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday acknowledged that he came to blows with anchorperson Mubashir Luqman at a wedding in Lahore.
"There was a scuffle that broke out. A small fight broke out. In a fight, as usually is the case, he may have got one (slap) in, I may have hit one," said the minister during Geo News talk show "Naya Pakistan" on Sunday evening. This is the second such incident involving the federal minister; he slapped journalist Sami Ibrahim during a wedding in June last year.
Meanwhile Luqman, who had refrained from publicly commenting on the incident, submitted an application to register a First Information Report (FIR) against the minister, it emerged late Sunday night.
The Valima ceremony of Punjab Irrigation Minister Mohsin Leghari’s son, where the altercation took place, was held earlier in the day. Eyewitnesses told Dawn that PTI leaders Jahangir Tareen, Ishaq Khakwani and Chaudhry were busy in conversation when Luqman arrived. They said a vitriolic exchange of words took place between the two (Chaudhry and Luqman). The minister told Luqman that he would sue him for defamation.
"Chaudhry threatened Luqman that he would not spare him, then slapped and shoved him," an eyewitness said.
As the two scuffled, PTI leaders and some journalists stepped in.
The physical altercation was apparently over a video Luqman uploaded on his YouTube channel in which he and anchorperson Rai Saqib discussed TikTok stars Hareem Shah and Sandal Khattak, and videos allegedly involving Chaudhry and Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan.
The show claimed that the two girls had several videos of the science and technology minister and could release them any time. The show also claimed that the Punjab information minister had close links with the girls and had been introducing them to top political figures of the PTI government.
Luqman moves to register FIR
In his application submitted at the Model Town police station late Sunday night, the anchorperson said he was attending the event along with Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar, Tareen and various federal ministers and provincial ministers.
Luqman said he was talking to his friends when Chaudhry attacked him along with 10-12 of his mussala ghundas (private guards).
"They subjected me to severe violence," he said, adding that after threatening him of serious consequences and of murder, they left the site of the incident.
According to Luqman, two witnesses had seen the whole incident.
He claimed that prior to this incident, the federal minister had called and threatened to have him killed if he did not stop his allegations.
In his application, Luqman said a case should be registered against Chaudhry and the others. While his application has been submitted, the FIR has not yet been registered.
Fawad defends himself
Fawad first confirmed the scuffle on Twitter and later while talking to Geo News.
"I am a minister but that doesn't mean my respect can be allowed to be tarnished like this. It can't be that anyone should be able to accuse us and then we should be told not to react."
In response to whether he thought he did the right thing, Chaudhry said: "Of course. It was my right. When you level such allegations anyone will react."
Chaudhry denied reports that he had guards around him during the alleged brawl. "People who know me know that I don't roam around with guards. In Islamabad I am alone and here too I was alone," he said.
When the host pointed out that this was the second time Chaudhry had slapped someone and asked whether it was a case of poor impulse control, the minister said: "Others criticise too. But Ibrahim and Luqman, can you honestly say they are journalists? They are all in the profession incidentally."
"Everyone has a tolerance level. I face a lot of criticism. But I have not even blocked people on Twitter," said Chaudhry.
He said that he had complained to the prime minister's aide on accountability, Shahzad Akbar, about Luqman's show and had also called the director general of Federal Investigation Agency's cyber wing, but did not get the desired response.
When the talk show host expressed concern over the fact that a minister had been unable to move the relevant organisations for a response and what that means for the common man, Chaudhry said that was what the PMRA (Pakistan Media Regulatory Authority) law had been established for.
"But the problem is, the army says they will do their own accountability, the judges say the same, and the media also says they will make their own laws and do their own accountability.
"So then the politicians are left to do this."

'If Iranian generalcan be droned for terrorism, why not a Pakistani general?' - Chidanand Rajghatta
WASHINGTON: Amid widespread misgivings in the US Congress and among American analysts about the assassination of a serving general of a sovereign nation, the Trump administration is belatedly making the case that Iranian General Qassim Suleimani was a terrorist and a war criminal who should have been targeted a long time ago, even though he was not on any global proscribed list.
In fact, top administration officials are going so far as to link Iran and Suleimani to 9/11, even though the US Commission that carried out a monumental inquiry into the attack found no such connection. The 9/11 attack was carried out by Sunni extremists, mostly from Saudi Arabia, who by most accounts had little or no connection to Shia-majority Iran, a hated regional rival.
US vice-president Mike Pence was among those who wheeled out this 9/11 connection in a series of tweets listing Suleimani’s purported terrorist activities, alleging that he “assisted in the clandestine travel to Afghanistan of 10 of the 12 terrorists who carried out the September 11 terrorist attacks in the United States.”
Pence was eviscerated by analysts for “gas-lighting” the American public, with experts arguing that the idea that Suleimani would assist in 9/11 — knowingly or otherwise — made no sense, because besides being Shia, he actually cooperated with the US government against the Taliban in Afghanistan, which hosted the 9/11 plotters and perpetrators.
Indeed, the assassination of general Suleimani Why Suleimani’s killing is bigger than that of Osama opened a can of worms for the Trump administration with some Af-Pak experts asking why Washington should not target Pakistani generals who have a more established record of backing and carrying out terrorist attacks.
"Important point: why aren’t the Americans confronting the Taliban masters in Pakistan in a similar manner? The Taliban and their masters in Rawalpindi are responsible for the killing of 3500 US servicemen in Afghanistan," asked Saad Mohseni, a prominent Afghan entrepreneur.
And from a US military veteran on Twitter: So Americans killed by a foreign proxy group are worthy of revenge when it is Iran providing the support, but when it is Pakistan supporting the Taliban and HQN killing Americans in AFG they get a peace deal and Pakistan gets aid.
Several US military commanders and administration officials have accused Pakistan’s military intelligence agency ISI of using Taliban proxies to kill American personnel in Afghanistan with no retribution from successive administrations in Washington except for aid cuts and downgraded ties.
Earlier this week, US secretary of state Mike Pompeo revealed in a tweet that he had phoned Pakistan's Chief of Staff General Bajwa and to brief him about "US defensive action to kill Qassim Suleimani," adding that "the #Iran regime’s actions in the region are destabilizing and our resolve in protecting American interests, personnel, facilities, and partners will not waver." It was not clear if Pompeo intended it to be a warning to Bajwa and Pakistan, which in the eyes of some US analysts has long carried out a covert proxy war against US forces in Afghanistan.
Separately, Washington is rife with speculation as to why Trump decided to go in for such precipitate action against Suleimani that is resulting in something the President has pointedly sought to avoid: deploying more US troops abroad. One explanation is that Trump felt he looked weak after his 2019 decision to call off an air-strike against Iran after it downed the US surveillance drone.
There is also conjecture that Trump resented being trolled by Suleimani on social media. The Iranian general was apparently quite adept on Twitter, frequently taunting Trump, including calling him a “bartender” and a “casino manager.”
There are also more serious wag-the-dog explanations for the strike, with one prominent American scribe saying it is "hard to decouple his (Sulemani’s) killing from the impeachment saga." Indeed, the impeachment saga has been blown off the news cycle, at least for now.
Cheers

Little hope for justice, says slain Pak Sikh’s brother

and“The management of the channel I work for, has close association with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. He took notice of the incident, but nothing has been done on my complaint. I do not expect justice. I had approached the MP and federal minister, who looks after minorities here, but in vain. No local official has cooperated with me. When being a journalist I am being subjected to such discrimination, one can imagine what would be the plight of a common member of the minority community in Pakistan,” he said.
Harmeet is with his family at his native place Chakesar town in Shangla district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwah province. He said the minorities — the Sikhs, Hindus and Christians — were virtually suppressed and an atmosphere prevailed to instil a sense of insecurity and fear among them.
“Despite several protests staged by locals and other organisations, the government has not woken up from its deep slumber,” he said.

^His lifafa from ISPR is probably running late due to economic crunch so he is acting up a bit. He will be back to regular programming in a bit.

Looking at submarine rescue etc, me thinks more of Chin worry/or both worried about Underwater assets being targeted in the IOR??

Any news on Ejaz Haider? He has been AWOL for long. The last he was active was on a Youtube channel about current affairs which flopped.
I am checking to see if he did something which made his erstwhile ISI/Army masters add him to the missing persons list

Re: Terroristan - November 11, 2019
He was involved in an attempt to set up an English-only channel (a rarity in Pakiland), there were some videos on youtube but he didn't get much traction. If that was an ISPR sponsored initiative, they probably bet on the wrong guy because nobody (in the target audience) likes to hear a pompous gasbag drone on about stuff that they care little about (even though that sort of thing impresses Pakis).
