That has gotta be the first picture of RB007 that I have seen.

To date (thanks to you Kartik), I have seen RB001, 002, 003 and now 007. Waiting for pictures of BS009 to BS028.

Hopefully will see serial numbers beyond BS028 and RB008 :)

X-post from MRCA thread:

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited back on Rafale Radar, talks on for making jets in India

https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/ne ... aign=cppst

If additional orders are placed for Rafale — Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat hinted recently that 36 more fighter jets could be ordered within four years — a work share model could be worked out to manufacture parts for the fighter jet at HAL facilities.

IMO may be by next year they might ink the deal and then by 2024 they will deliver of next batch of Rafale.

@JayS.

The canard position of the Rafale coming it to land is exactly what ADA is going after. You were right.

True nature of this JV coming to light! Reliance, with 0 aerospace experience, was just used as an entry point into India by the French. At the same time Reliance and its owners lines their pockets.

You are forgetting 1 major point- Relience owned the land from days before 2014- something post land acquisition laws- Dassault would have struggled with. How did he acquire the land in which period nobody wants to go through.

Dassault is trying to shift Reliance stake in the joint venture to GOI/HAL. There is really no realistic chance of it winning the 114 aircraft order without them as partners.

Too early to determine that. The plan is for F4 to achieve FOC only in 2024. IOC is planned for 2022.

Not that there is any money for 57 carrier borne fighters, but the Rafale M is one of the contestants in the naval contest and interoperability is the buzzword between India and US.

Ike and Charles de Gaulle Participate in Cross-Deck Aircraft Launches and Recoveries
https://www.navy.mil/submit/display.asp?story_id=112272
03 March 2020
"The exchange of traps and catapults of a French Rafale on Ike and a U.S. Super Hornet on CDG [Charles de Gaulle] not only displayed the versatility of each country's naval air power, but was a striking visual of comradery in arms of two great powers at sea," said Capt. Trevor Estes, commander Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 3. "The Battle Axe team was honored to execute the first trap by a Rhino aboard the CDG and more importantly, extend even further an already strong allied relationship through inter-operations in the skies over the Mediterranean."
"The dual-carrier operation represents a high-end interoperability showcase for our two navies," said Rear Adm. Marc Aussedat, commander, Task Force 473. "It is a concrete way to enhance our know-how to operate together, amongst which a swift ability to plug, to share tactical information, to catch and catapult aircraft indifferently on either aircraft carrier and to couple our fighting spirits in a complex maritime environment for a wide range of actions alongside."
Operating with Charles de Gaulle in the Mediterranean is a fantastic representation of the inter-connectedness between France and the United States,” said Capt. Kyle Higgins, Ike’s commanding officer. “It was truly an honor working together to facilitate the launching and recovering of our nation’s aircraft on our respective carriers, showcasing the similarities between our two sea-faring nations.”

it could be the other way round admiral ...that khan is keen to show shornet/rhino can work where rafale M could.... at a cheaper rates...i think khan wants to go for killing this time around...
for us we should focus on our daal bati choorma of NLCA and TEBDBF (abracadabra...) ..we are not taking our fighters to taiwan ..best to wait and build our own...for papis Mig 29, NLCA and Su 30 based combination (refueller over arabian sea) should be more enough to deter any threat and conduct any operations...if we have money to spare, that should go to versions of kaveri or on UAV/UCAV programs rather than buying hermes bags..when our simple jhola could do

I was watching a doc on the 2018 CDG midlife refit, and they talked about the carrier becoming a 100% Rafale operation. One thing that stuck out to me was that the Rafale-M does not have folding wings, thereby taking up more hanger space. I think this will have an impact on the decision for the future naval jets. Any thoughts on this?

The actual scary thing is that they are deliberately playing to their captive audiences and each one of that audience has the same vote as an aeronautical engineer.

Correct.

And there was a very interesting article, posted in these forums, about how his dad didn't allow the coalition government of the day to scuttle the deal (and get it renegotiated) of the Su 30 MKIs by trying to bring in the bogey of corruption. And how ABV, George Fernandes etc were instrumental in back channel talks with him during that time.

A doubt...
Will the latest CoronaVirus pandemic that took over Europe, including France, effect the delivery schedule of the Rafale...?
