Thousands of Afghan streamed across the Pakistan border to their homeland on Tuesday overwhelming authorities who had opened the frontier after more than two weeks of restrictions to stop the spread of Covid-19.

It's not just entitlement of plundering all around but total contempt of non-believers. Pakis can't from across the border is all that is to know when in India even the untraceable tubliki ( not traceable yet) s spit on aithorized personnel, or their vulgar display can get away because of religion and votebank politics.

Everyone knows this smackie/charsi. He's all bluster and no action. He misbehaved in front of the Saudi King and was reprimanded then as well.
Fauj is also done with apologizing on his behalf.

He can't go do potty without the ISI's permission.
He's a rude, narcissist, kamchor, who's never done an honest day's work in his life with a faulty pipe system these days.

KSA, controls senior afsaraan in Baq fauj to a very big extent. They are all lining up and doing Ji-huzoori for post retirement naukri and daan-dakshina.
NO-ONE, NO-ONE now believes in the idea of El-Baqistan any more. Least of them Baqistanis and specially the faujis.

Modi ji took the initiative with saarc but Napaki showed their aukat. It’s perfect for us, we are not going to send any help until Iam the dim beg us. Even than we will send only symbolic token numbers. So by all means they are off the list. Let us take care of our interests than falling in trap of these random self centered jehadis. We should be sending HCQ to the Saudi royals, in fact sending a medical team to them right past the various Generals they have appointed as security guards just to rub it in.

Very nice to hear and may not be headline grabbing but preventative action accross the LOC and degrading PA infrastructure will be the only thing to temporarily buy peace. Similarly go after the Maoist network's, they can't use public transport to escape undetected now.

Afghanistan refuses to hand over militant to Pakistan
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement the Daesh leader, Abdullah Orakzai, also known as Aslam Farooqi, a Pakistani-origin suspected militant, is wanted for a number of gruesome terrorist attacks and would be tried in line with laws in Afghanistan.

"Afghanistan does not discriminate between terrorists, it takes equal legal actions against all and is committed to all anti-terrorism commitments," it said.

It further noted that since there is no agreement between Pakistan and Afghanistan on the extradition of suspects and convicts, Farooqi will be dealt in line with laws in Afghanistan.

I think you should def post that memo to IK Niazi - he would be delighted to know his $100 Bn debt is actually a figment of imagination since Mr. Bretton Wood is dead.
On a lighter note, the state of bakistan and its chief IM niazi may be figments of imagination. On a serious note though, what is the connection of "Baki $$ external debt of $105bn" being an "imagination" (of course it is not) with respect bretton woods not being around? Little slow today. can you plz help me out?

Saar, what I mean is that if indeed Bretton Woods and its affiliates such as IMF and WB are dead, then astaghfirullah, why do Bakis pay a dime to these institutions? Perhaps Chin will help stage a "walk out" of such nations and deliver a debt bumb to Massa.

Thanks for the clarification. My reference to the death of Bretton Woods did not mean to refer to the going away of IMF or WB. These two Bretton Woods era institutions are around and will be around. Generally speaking, when people refer to the death of Bretton Woods, this is what they are referring to.

IMF: The end of the Bretton Woods System (1972–81)
...
End of Bretton Woods system
The system dissolved between 1968 and 1973. In August 1971, U.S. President Richard Nixon announced the "temporary" suspension of the dollar's convertibility into gold. While the dollar had struggled throughout most of the 1960s within the parity established at Bretton Woods, this crisis marked the breakdown of the system. An attempt to revive the fixed exchange rates failed, and by March 1973 the major currencies began to float against each other.
Since the collapse of the Bretton Woods system, IMF members have been free to choose any form of exchange arrangement they wish (except pegging their currency to gold): allowing the currency to float freely, pegging it to another currency or a basket of currencies, adopting the currency of another country, participating in a currency bloc, or forming part of a monetary union.

Bhutto Picks Up The Pieces of Pakistan
By James P. Sterba
June 25, 1972
And on top of all the dismal statistics, Pakistan had suffered the deepest humiliation possible—it had lost a war to India. The bubble of military invincibility that Pakistanis had been taught to hold onto as dearly as they held their sacred Korans had burst. On Dec. 16 in the twilight at the Dacca race course, when Pakistan Lieut. Gen. Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi unstrapped his pistol and in near tears handed it, his army and the 55,126 square miles of East Pakistan over to Indian Lieut. Gen. Jagjit Singh Au rora, Pakistan faded from the ranks of the world's second‐ rate military powers. Maybe they were the finest fighting men in the world, as they truly believed, but that hadn't mattered. All those Chinese rifles and American treaty commitments hadn't mattered either. Pakistan, with a flash of brutality in East Pakistan on the night of March 25, 1971, that shocked the world, had shown itself to be a distasteful little bully among civilized nations. And a little guy armed with comforting words from Mao Tse‐tung, Allah and a war‐weary Uncle Sam had proved no match for an Indian Goliath armed with songs from George Harrison and missiles from Moscow.
In a short book called “The Great Tragedy,” Bhutto wrote that he had listened to the gunfire and watched the burning that night in Dacca. “Here in front of my eyes, I saw the death and destruction of our own people,” he wrote. Yet when he returned to Karachi the next morning, he told a crowd at the airport: “By the grace of God, Pakistan has at last been saved.” He had been advised against publishing that little book, but it came out in September. Three months later, by the grace of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the distinct lack of grace on the part of Yahya Khan, Pakistan was shattered. It had been the fifth most populous nation on earth, right behind China, India, the Soviet Union and the United States. Now it was ninth, right behind Bangladesh.

And lo and behold, it's back to fifth position, behind Indonesia and catching up double quick.

It will be unprecedented for there to exist such a dysfunctional country of 300 million souls always on the want for handouts. They have utterly no shame.

Thank you for posting this!

I wasn't expecting much, especially since this was the NYT writing in the Nixon era, but this is absolute gold and a must-read from start to finish. I would suggest that this be part of the 'essential reading' section on the first page of this thread. The author totally nailed the nature of Pakistan, the nature of Bhutto, and predicted (sadly with damming accuracy) the shape of the negotiations to follow and India getting suckered in exactly the way that it eventually was.

Change a few parts of this excerpt to modern analogues, and you could virtually be describing the Pakistan of today:
APRIL 21 was a shambles as a ceremony but it was a day for the people and it was a tribute—not to the martial discipline, the stead fastness of purpose, the in herent strength, virtue and might that every national leader including Bhutto had said Pakistan had stood for since its birth in 1947. But rather it was a tribute to what Pakistan really was: A sick, poor, backward, ignorant, undisciplined and defeated half of a country—a country victimized by both its capacity for self‐delusion and its pas sion, inflamed by ample reason and rhetoric, to hate India.

There on the race‐course grounds were half a million or so men (women are rarely seen or heard publicly in Pak istan) who knew everything of guns and nothing of books, who poked each other, giggled and stared open‐mouthed like children at the sight of a re porter's pen scribbling notes: men enthralled not by their President's words, but by the luminous hands on a stranger's watch. There, in a sad, eerie glimpse, was what Pakistan amounted to after 25 years of nationhood, despite its sophisticated public‐relations men, its showcase intellectu als and artists, and its gen erals who said they could have kept order that after noon had they had a few more men.

If the new nation of Ban gladesh that Sheik Mujibur Rahman inherited and Paki stan lost was “an international basket case,” as some had said, then the Pakistan that was left over for Bhutto had not exactly won its release from the intensive care ward. It was so deep in debt to oth er countries and banks—$3.7‐ billion by January — that it couldn't even pay the yearly interest. It had 65 million people, and 55 million of them couldn't read or write. The average Pakistani made 700 rupees a year, which, at a rea istic exchange rate amounted to $63.64—one of the lowest per capita incomes in the world. Some underdeveloped countries, like Indonesia, stake their future on mineral riches, but after years of searching, experts continued to describe Pakistan as a country “no tably void” of natural re sources.

It was not an exaggeration to say that Pakistan was a sick nation, even if Bangla desh was sicker and even if without it Pakistan was prob ably better off. On any one day, 80 per cent of the chil dren and nearly half the adults in Pakistan suffered from diarrhea from eating contaminated foods. Its infant mortality rate was one of the world's highest, and even if a child survived until his first birthday, the chances were one in four that he would die before his fifth. Of those who did survive until school age, only three out of 10 ever went, and the majority of those dropped out early. There were a million new cases of tuber culosis each year in what was left of Pakistan, and one out of five persons who contrac ted it eventually died from it.

Pakistani Prime Minister Appeals for Debt Relief to Combat Coronavirus Fallout
Pakistan, which is over $100 billion in debt to foreign lenders and spends the largest chunk of its budget on debt servicing, last week began a $900 million cash disbursement programme to 12 million poor families rendered unemployed due to lockdowns.
Khan said he appealed to world leaders, the heads of financial institutions and the secretary-general of the United Nations to get together to announce a debt relief initiative for developing countries.

Afridi backs Akhtar's proposal for Indo-Pak series
Laxmi NegiApril 13, 2020

'Sport is supposed to bring people together and build bridges'
Disappointed with Kapil Dev's response, Pakistan's Shahid Afridi has backed his former teammate Shoaib Akhtar's proposal for an ODI series against India to help raise funds for the less privileged in their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Afridi told reporters in Kohat that he was surprised by the comments of Indian great Kapil and former IPL chairman, Rajeev Shukla, who outrightly dismissed Akhtar's suggestion.
"The entire world is fighting against coronavirus and we need unity in our region to defeat this common enemy. Such negative comments don't help at all," Afridi said. "I don't see anything wrong with Shoaib Akhtar's suggestion for Pakistan and India to play cricket. Kapil's reaction has surprised me. I expected better from him and feel one should not talk like this in these crisis times."
Afridi said that he was also surprised at some of the 'negative comments' Indian stars Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh's support for his charity foundation attracted. "Sport is supposed to bring people together and build bridges. It is pretty disappointing."

'God is with us': Many Muslims in Pakistan flout the coronavirus ban in mosques
"Our prayer leader told us that the virus can't infect us the way it does Western people," Durrani told Reuters. "He said we wash our hands and we wash our face five times a day before we say our prayers, and the infidels don't, so we need not worry. God is with us."
A prominent leader of a religious party told a crowd of hundreds of people gathered for a funeral last week that government orders to limit congregations were unacceptable.
"If you do this, we will be forced to think that mosques are being deserted on America's instructions," Mufti Kafayatullah told the crowd. "We're ready to give our lives, but not ready to desert our mosques."

Global consortium plans to pour billions into Pakistan

SLAMABAD: Pakistan may have another financing window that may be almost equal to, if not bigger than, the investment under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as the Global Investment Consortium (GIC) mulls over investing billions of dollars into the country.

The consortium is considering investing up to €50 billion on a public-private partnership basis in different megaprojects like Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme, Reko Diq copper and gold project and Diamer-Bhasha dam and power project at a time when economies around the world are struggling to combat the fallout from Covid-19.

GIC is a more than 200-member consortium comprising hedge funds and investors pouring capital on the basis of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and public-private partnership models in emerging markets for infrastructure development. It can raise around €30-50 billion in structured finance for development projects in Pakistan.

This one though is extremely credible. How can a name like 'Global Investment Consortium (GIC)' be a fake or made up name for a global investment consortium?

In unrelated news, 'Japanese Bullet Train Corporation' will be building a high speed rail link between Karachi and Lahore, and 'International wide-body plane company, Inc.' will setting up a plant in Peshawar.

One wonders why, when such massive investment is coming into Pakistan courtesy GIC, Imran Khan feels the need to appear on TV daily begging for money.

Indian Army killed Pakistan Brigadier, Pak says coronavirus did
Pakistan has confirmed the death of Brigadier Faisal Qadir, Commander 80 Brigade of the Pakistan Army. According to local media reports, the Brigadier died due to a cardiac arrest on Sunday. One more report claimed that his “condition deteriorated” a day after performing coronavirus duties in the Aston district of Gilgit Baltistan.
However, there are speculations that Pakistan may be covering up to avoid the embarrassment and it is highly likely the Brigadier could have been killed in the Indian Army’s artillery assault on April 10 (a video of which was shared by the Indian Army).
On Friday, April 10, the Indian Army used Bofors artillery guns to target ammunition dumps and terror launch pads in the Keran sector of Kupwara along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, near the site of a hand-to-hand battle between Indian Special Forces and terrorists.

That is probably the originally scheduled tranche from the 6B loan that they took, that they have agreed to release. If you remember, they withheld the full amount and broke it up into tranches that would be subject to the Pakis complying.

Parking the car in open is for you lowly kafirs. The Paki CEO of "Global Investment Corporation" parks his car in the covered lot which comes with a Green shutter. Can you match that
