Bangladesh budgetary outlays are greater than Pakistan’s. Anyone know how these short dark Bengali speakers do it? Perhaps the tall well built lighter coloured Muslims from the west can tell us.

Or is it holier to be poorer. Yes that must be it.

BD was created for the sole purpose of nullifying the third front. Luckily we did it before Pak got nukes.

no one wants a large muslim population with free and unrestricted access to India, complete with voting and citizenship rights, given them legally and constitutionally.

yes, I do know that this is ironic, considering the commie, congi and naxal enabled illegal migration of beedis into India.

The Wire journalist Junaid Bhat(Source: Facebook)

Journalist with The Wire calls terrorists as martyrs, seen operating close to security forces in Jammu and Kashmir

Junaid Bhat, a photojournalist with ‘The Wire’, has been seen eulogising terrorists and glorifying them on his social media accounts. In several of his tweets, he has called the terrorists who wreak havoc in Kashmir as “martyrs” and blamed the Indian troops for eliminating them.

However, it is a startling fact that the same journalist Bhat has been found sharing intimate details about the movements of the Indian Armed Forces and their anti-terror operations carried out in Jammu and Kashmir. On his social media accounts, the photojournalist Bhat has been sharing his pictures of operating dangerously close to the Indian Army personnel, in the process revealing critical information that should have otherwise remained under the wraps

The dichotomy of a terror apologist operating in close proximity to the Indian Armed Forces in Kashmir was highlighted by Abhijit Iyer Mitra on Twitter. Raising suspicion that Bhat may be feeding intelligence input to terrorists, Mitra shared tweets posted by Bhat where he is seen eulogising and extolling terrorists. The Twitter account of Junaid Bhat has since then been deactivated.

A cursory glance at this journalist’s social media accounts reveals how potentially sensitive information he feeds to the outside world about the ongoing operations in the Kashmir Valley, such as troop movements of Indian Army within Kashmir and photos and visuals of the encounter sites.

While the encounter was underway at Beigpora between the security forces and terrorists, including Hizbul chief Riyaz Naikoo, Bhat shared vital information on Facebook about the encounter such as the visuals and videos that could be used by the terrorists to locate the troops and plan an escape.

On Instagram too, Junaid has been quite active in sharing his bold exploits. In one of the posts, even as the Handwara encounter was underway, Junaid passed off pivotal information such as the count and formation of Indian Army personnel carrying out the encounter. He also added that the top security officials among security men have lost contact with their colleagues.

Bhat shared another photo of himself along with the Armed Forces from the site of Handwara encounter.

After the Handwara encounter had concluded, Bhat shared another photo on his Instagram profile of the Indian Army convoy leaving the site with the number of vehicles in the convoy.

Crucial information such as the convoy details and their chosen route is normally withheld from being made public, for the fear of terrorist attack against them. But this sobering reality doesn’t deter Mr Bhat from sharing the particulars on his social media timeline for global consumption, including terrorists operating inside Kashmir and their handlers in Pakistan.

It is pertinent to note that the Indian Army suffered heavy casualties in the Handwara encounter where an Indian army colonel, a major and two soldiers, along with a Jammu and Kashmir Police sub-inspector, were killed in a counter-terrorist operation in Kashmir late on Saturday.

The above instances, where a terror apologist who also happens to be a journalist with ‘The Wire’, shares vital information about the Indian Armed Forces, reminds one of the disastrous journalism that accompanied the horrifying Mumbai 26/11 attacks where the handlers based out of Pakistan were instructing terrorists in Mumbai about the commando movements based on the Indian TV coverage of the attacks.

The Armed Forces would do well to steer clear of such journalists and reporters who do not exercise restrain in sharing information on their social media pages or who might be willing collaborators with the terrorists to either escape encounters or inflict heavy casualties to the security personnel.
This is totally unacceptable. He could have been sending pics to the terrorists or Paki high command who knows!

What makes you think direct action day is not possible in current WB. It's already happening in degrees.

There are many alternatives btw invasion/annexation on one hand, and a stupid "moralistic" hands off policy on the other.
It was better not to annex BD because India never had a larger vision or strategy and resources and still does not so far. But that does not rule it out forever.

World is not about dominating others, but creating a good life for its citizens. Don't think any Indian would benefit from BD anexation.
An anexation would make India an Imperialist goon in the world, subject to boycotts etc.

Encounter underway between security forces, terrorists at Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam
An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists at Yamrach village of South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Wednesday (May 13) night.
According to details, the encounter started after a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir police, Army's 34 Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF launched cordon and search operation in Yamrach after receiving a specific input about the presence of terrorists in the area.
As the security forces approached towards the hideout of the terrorists, the terrorists opened fire upon them, triggering an encounter. Sources told Zee Media that more reinforcements have been brought in to kill the terrorists. Sources added that two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area and all the exit points of the area have been sealed off to prevent them from escaping.

Yes like the world boycotts China over Tibet and Turkestan Inner Mongolia.

Why would India ever want to take over BD or Pakistan?

The concept does not make sense at this time.

Perhaps in a post religion world. Which explains of course the self harming primate elites next door and their need to inoculate their masses with their religion.

With a $10 trillion economy, perhaps 10 years away, the risk of nuclear war will be high. The masses next door will start getting ideas about why Allah’s despised people are better off in every way.

It is delusional to think, breaking Pakistan in to more pieces will stop the fight. There will still be Pakistan Punjab with enough cannon fodders to continue the fight.

There is nothing in Pak(including PoK) worth invading. Our politicians realize this. That's why we Bangladesh today, not East Bengal.
Saab, you first asked what the final objective of airstrikes. let's not worry about what happens after that. our immediate concern is the terrorists in the valley. also future wars in himalayan region. once the country is broken into pieces, it won't be having same amount of oomph.

We have millions of illegal bds in india. where will we settle them? taking over western bd makes perfect sense if you think about future bd immigrant crisis. it doesn't make sense. sounds like trolling. but the situation with bd illegals is not joke.

Isn't Bangladesh one of the most adversely affected countries due to rising sea levels? The whole push for greater bangle was to compensate future loss of land mass. Many in Assam believe that BDs were systematically pushed in India for that purpose. Am I missing something? Why should we accommodate them when we can barely look after our poor population?

Sorry to say, but this is the Pak way of getting in to a war. Remember Kargil? You don't get in to a war with no end goal.

You can break up Pakistan, ONLY if those pieces actually want to be broken up. We would be delusional to think Paks in Sindh want to become a new nation. We break up Balouchistan, then we have to maintain forces to protect it from getting re-occupied.

Why would we want to occupy PoK with a hostile population and explode the insurgency problem? Not to mention screw up the demography.
Think about it. Why would people who we have been subjecting to fire assault for decades would be happy to be with us?

Pakistan Army is Pakistan Punjab Army. You break up Pak in to PoK, Sindh, Punjab etc, the Pakistan Army will still survive!

The terrorists are cannon fodders. Our objective is to get the puppet master. Pakistan Army.

And Pakistan Army is found in thousands on LC & IB. We just need to get better at killing them and get better at announcing to the world that we are doing it.

There's tendence to prove who's greener and which group is superior. There's always discontent against one group or another. Not to forget sindh/karachi was the field for altaf hussain

Let me a give a ancedote of what happens with conquering "more land".

Germany captured most of Europe in WW2 and people don't get tired even today of praising it's conquering skills and blitz and what not.

What is not told; this extra land, brought extra people, requiring extra oil to even keep them warm. Who has to give this oil? Germany, who couldn't even meet the need of German people in the first place.

Germany had to invade Russia, to capture Ukraine for the grain and oils field. Germany was running out of oil by 1941!

Lesson for us. Let's not be responsible to feed more mouths. Our problem is feeding our people.

saar, PoK has very little population and few roads. what's there to feed? most of the people there are recent settlers. if we bomb them now, they will run back to their homes. Also the land is ours, we are not conquering anything here.

how little is few billions, assuming GDP, a large part of our defense budget is due to pakistan. If Paki army is not there or reduced greatly our requirements will also fall largely. RIght now it is towards a full blown war, later on it could be more like RR or BSF type of a force. Rest of sources can be poured on to IN for global/regional outreach if we still want military else we can invest in R&D education healthcare or as we see fit. No supa pawah came without conquest of enemies. If you are fine with a sub regional power unlike me who's looking for a global role

THat is a very myopic view of PoK. There are few additional reasons for PoK
1. Control of water for our food bowl and plains (indus water)
2. Elimination of joint threat of china pak
3. ascension of India as a military power
4. We have fed kashmiris for so long. This would minimize that need due to cross loc trade as there is regional synergy.
5. Over long term it will reduce our military expenditures (40-50 years)
6. Weaken if not shatter the myth of islamic superiority of pakistan. No one likes to celebrate losers.
7. Bring out stories of paki oppression over there which we cant do that right now

have you ever seen malsis going to islamic countries. they will not go out of pok, they will not go out to pakistan. Nam is correct in this risk. We need to manage this threat by resettlement and demographic changes. No need to be dharmic in this.

Pak is not a threat even now. They don't have money to fight a proper war, but that is not stopping them from baiting us for a war.

They will enough cannon fodder to infiltrate. How many men does PA require now to keep the pot boiling in J&K? 10k-20K?

Unless you can move Pak out of here to some other continent, there is no solution to this problem.

Right now they have geographical size, once they loose Baluchistan, Poonch Bulge, Neelum Valley and the Rest of Gligit Balistan, Shakargarh Bulge and parts Tharparkkar around Sindh, There will automatically be a revolts against pakjab and they will access to the Valley. Plus huge of loss of face itself will make the Pakjabis scared. Plus freeing up access for us to Afghanistan. This is the long term strategy , finally a series of small states economically dependent and militarily weak.

+1 they will find it hard to fine men and resources to sustain a large army...they will not be supported by forefathers..look at BDs..they may be a long term threat but at least dont pose us as much challenge as pakis did. Now imagine if they were with pakis and same booming economy..they would have made life hell for us on eastern front...

They also will lose strategic depth, and access to the sea. Both of them make them a lot more vulnerable and less brazen with their mischief. Remember that one of the major justifications that they make for keeping POK is that if they lose POK, Islamabad would be a stone's throw away from the Indian border.

I am confused when people just say "we will split them". Let's say Pak is somehow split into 5 parts. What prevents them from combining up again? It is not that each region hates the rest. Baluchistan may not want to combine again but Punjab and Sindh may combine. Then they may annex Paktunkhwa. Many Peacefool refugees will stream into India and Khangress will start a campaign to let them in.

Pashtuns hate the Pakjabis and we must make Peshawar the Pakistani Capital, it will cause 15 years disturbance while we set up relations with Baluchistan, Afganistan and Central Asia. Make sure the Indo Pak border to fire at site of refugees, show 2 pence showing relief. It can be managed but we need overwhelming miltary superiority to take Pakistani Airforce and Nuke delivery systems, power plants, ammo factories, fuel , transport etc in a lightning mass bombardment campaign.

1. most of border is fenced so it wont be that easy, we will have to be prepared for that...having a bjp govt is essential for that
2. well yes, the pakistaniyat is definitely there..it is not to debunk the idea of pakistaniyat but the idea of a different identity that drives such changes..even CIS and ukraine had this dillema of russia and ukranian
3. a syria style civil war may not be bad for us, although puts is in difficult spot for 1

The Hunt Begins: New Top 10 militants in Kashmir
New Delhi, May 14 (IANS) Indian security forces have launched fresh operations to neutralize the next wave of Top 10 most wanted terrorist currently active in Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. According to top sources in the security establishment, these terrorists are linked to Pakistan-based terror outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM). The immediate aim of security forces is to disrupt all the active terrorist networks and launch retaliatory strikes to neutralize them.
These top 10 terrorists were trained in terror camps operated with the help of Pakistan’s intelligence unit ISI. They were well-armed before infiltrating into Indian territory to recruit Kashmiri youth and carry out terror strikes.
“Pakistan is recruiting gullible youngsters from Kashmir and are training them for carrying out jihad against India,” said a top anti-terror unit chief.
The security forces move to identify top terrorists came after Riyaz Naikoo, one of Kashmir’s most wanted terrorists and the commander of terror group Hizbul Mujahideen, was killed during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama during an anti-terrorist operation conducted by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Beighpura area.
Naikoo, 32, had a bounty of Rs 12 lakh on his head and was a key target for India once he took charge of the Hizbul Mujahideen in Kashmir.
The security forces are offering rewards for information leading to the apprehension of the next line of 10 most wanted active terrorists after a list was prepared as early as this week. This is a part of a counter terror strategy adopted after two senior army officers — a colonel and a major- were among five security personnel killed in action during an encounter in Handwara in Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Colonel Ashutosh Sharma along with Major Anuj Sood, Naik Rajesh Kumar, Lance Naik Dinesh, and police Sub-Inspector Sageer Ahmad Pathan was killed in the encounter.
According to security forces, Hizbul Mujahideen newly appointed head Saifullah Mir alias Ghazi Haider alias Doctor Sahab is on the top of the wanted list. He had joined Hizbul Mujahideen in October, 2014 and hails from Malangpora in Pulwama. He was radicalised by Naikoo and given the name Ghazi Haider.
The second in the list is Mohammad Ashraf Khan alias Ashraf Maulvi alias Mansoor-ul-Islam. He joined Hizbul Mujahideen on September 9, 2016 and has since been active in the valley. Third in the list is Junaid Sehrai and he also belong to Hizbul Mujahideen. Then comes Mohammad Abbas Sheikh infamous as Turabi Maulvi and is active since March 3, 2015. He is also member of terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen.
Fifth in the list is Zahid Zargar and he part of JeM. He has been active since late 2014 and has gone underground for last few months. The sixth in the list is Shakur, who is member of LeT and is active since 2015.
Seventh in the list is Faisal and he is infamous as Faisal Bhai. He is member of JeM and is active since 2015.
At eight is Hizbul member Sheraz al Lone. He is infamous as Maulvi Shaab and he joined the terror outfit on September 30, 2016. Saleem Paray of JeM figures at ninth place and Owais Mallick of LeT comes last on the wanted list.
These terrorists belong to top category and are active in north and south Kashmir.
Some of the wanted terrorists names came up before the security forces following a spate of rivalry between terror recruits of The Resistance Front’ (TRF), a newly-created terror organisation in Kashmir, and the Hizbul Mujahideen.
The security establishment have decided to increase bounty of these terrorists’ manifold as part of counter-terrorism strategy in a bid to neutralize them as soon as possible.
“Hunt for these terrorists are on. The quality of intelligence about terrorists in several districts has improved and we are determined to act against terror before it raises its head in the region,” said the anti-terror unit chief.

In the Indian sub-continent, whenever there has been a split of a political entity like a state or a country, have the split parties ever wilingly joined together? Once a split happens there are 2 power centers, and neither will relnquish their seat for common good. If Sindh splits from Punjab the new powers that be in SIndh (MQM or anyone else) will never relenquish their power to any Punjabi, and not will any Punjabi leader allow a Sindhi to rule them. (Imagine any 2 states that split in India in the last 20 years and see under what circumstances they will unite. Sindh and Paksitani Punjab will be 10 times worse.).

in the end what keeps a pakistan united is hatred for india....there are fault lines all around..what our job should be is to increase the repulsive tendencies

Interesting tit-bits from former J&K governer Satyapal Malik

https://www.hindustantimes.com/videos/i ... wsource=cl

He all but says Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti are TSP proxies (as we always knew). He further adds that TSP's Harried proxies threatened to kill anyone taking part in Panchayat election. I can wager to bet that you look under the hood and it will be breathtaking as to the grip TSP has in the valley without have any physical presence except through its pigLeTs.

Erstwhile known as J&K police, police force in the Union Territory of Ladkah will be henceforth called LADAKH POLICE. An order regarding the change in nomenclature was issued by Inspector General of Police, Ladakh, S.S. Khandare, on Saturday

“Wherever organisational name ‘J&K Police’’ is written on any sign boards, police vehicles, letter heads, office stationaries, seals and other official items of UT Police should be replaced by the word “LADAKH POLICE’’ in capital letters henceforth’’, the order read.

“No police officer/official shall put on president police collar insignia of J&K Police on uniform,’’ the order further read, adding it has the approval of the competent authority.
Even after the abolition of Article 370 and reorganization of the then state of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, police in Ladakh had been using its old organizational name as ‘J&K Police’ at all places.

On October 31 last year, Jammu and Kashmir was officially bifurcated into the two union territories, marking the beginning of the functioning of the two UTs at a bureaucratic level. On August 5 the same year, the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill was passed by the Parliament and subsequently became and Act.

Riyaz Naikoo's encounter, successor and militancy in Kashmir
BY HAKEEM IRFAN, ET BUREAU | MAY 13, 2020, 03.40 PM IST

BEIGHPORA, AWANTIPORA: During 36 hours of cordon and search operation in Beighpora of in southern Kashmir, armed forces couldn’t discover , twice in the house he was hiding in. Finally, the third attempt of armed forces, focusing on the same house triggered a six-hour long gun battle scripting the end of one of the longest surviving commanders of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen in Kashmir.

Naikoo’s eight years long journey as a militant since 2012, came to an end in his native village, which by now had become used to frequent crackdowns and search operations. For past one year, locals claim the village was cordoned almost twice or thrice every month.

“Search operations and forces in ambush were almost a permanent feature of this village now. Nobody would dare to go out in the evening or during the night,” Muhammad Rafiq, head of local Auqaf in Beighpora village told ET.
.
.
“He had taken up arms and his destiny was to either get killed or be captured one day,” Asadullah, told one of the army officers, who summoned him during the search operation.
.
.
In the 42-hour long operation which started at around 10pm on May 4 and ended around 2:30pm on May 6, other than Naikoo, his close associate Adil Bhat was also killed and three houses were raised to ground completely with explosives.
.
.
The armed forces also dug up a few vegetable gardens with land excavators near the railway line following a tipoff about underground hideouts, tunnels and escape routes, Naikoo had built over the years in and around his village.

The Encounter
J&K police chief Dilbag Singh informed the reporters that they had managed to arrest an over ground worker of militants who had made a hideout for Naikoo, which led the forces to several hideouts. Before this encounter, armed forces had busted several hideouts of Naikoo in southern Kashmir but he managed to escape in time. However, this time he ran out of luck.

On May 4, around 10pm a joint team of armed forces comprising of the Army, J&K police and CRPF laid strict cordon around Beigpora village. Next morning as per the locals a house-to-house search operation and digging vegetable fields with land excavators was started.

“Forces took a group of youngsters from village and started the search operation. They were asked to enter every house ahead of the forces,” a local resident told ET. This continued for the whole day and these youngsters were let go in the evening.

Another group of youngsters was picked up by the forces on morning of May 6 and asked to follow their directions. “Some of these youngsters were used to plant the explosives around the houses which were blasted,” said locals.

.
.
The Burial
At around 5:30 pm, following the encounter, when J&K police had already transported the bodies of two militants to Awantipora police station, the family of Naikoo was officially informed about his killing.

“We rushed to police station, but bodies were already taken away from there as well. They handed over a movement pass for five persons and asked us to go to Sonamarg,” said Asadullah. Sonamarg is a tourist spot in northern Kashmir around 120 kms from Awantipora.

As per the standard operation procedure, armed forces would handover the bodies of local militants to families few hours after the encounter and burry foreign militants in a graveyard in Baramulla district of northern Kashmir. This SOP saw changed recently. In April, a large funeral gathering of a militant killed in Sopore of northern Kashmir, despite restrictions and government guidelines against any such gathering due to COVID-19, triggered a shift in this policy

J&K administration following the orders of disallowed handing over of bodies of local militants to their families. Since, then local militants killed in encounters were either buried in Baramulla or Sonmarg. Recently, a 15-year-old boy killed in Handwara was also buried in Baramulla, away from his native place. Hope even after COVID-19 days this SOP remains same. No handover bodies to family directly rather ask them to visit a district 150 km in opposite direction for rituals.

As a result of new guidelines Asadullah had to embark on a journey of around four hours in their private car along with his relatives during which they also broke fast at around 7:25 pm in Ganderbal. They reached Sonamarg at around 10pm. At the graveyard, his son and three other militants were already buried. Two of them were killed in a separate encounter on the same day in Khrew area of Pulwama in southern Kashmir.

“A mother of one of the militants who had reached there before us testified that my son was also buried along with other three.

For three days following the encounter, police and paramilitary was deployed in and around the village to contain any possible protests or funeral prayer in absentia gatherings. J&K police didn’t allow the family of Naikoo to erect a tent in their lawn, where mourners could gather.

Naikoo and his Successor
35-year-old Naikoo, a BSc with mathematics as major subject, was born in a family of farmers and was a teacher, before he joined militant ranks at the age of 27. He had worked as over ground worker of a prominent militant Parvez Musharraf, that acquainted him with the militant network in across southern Kashmir.

Despite being elder to , 22, who was leading HM till he was killed on 8thJuly 2016, Naikoo remained his trusted lieutenant. He took over the reins of banned militant organization in 2017 and managed to continue the flow of local recruitment into HM ranks. J&K police claims that Naikoo singlehandedly masterminded revival of HM in J&K.

The HM commander in past few years sanctioned execution of civilians suspected or branded as informers of police and army. He also issued orders of targeted killings of police and army men who were on vacations or travelling for any non-combat purposes.

In August 2018, abduction of 11 policemen and their relatives, across south Kashmir were planned and executed by Naikoo’s network, which further established his grip on the ground.
.
.
J&K police chief also informed that police managed to crack Naikoo’s OGW network and arrested a person who made a hideout for him, which proved to be the final nail in Naikoo’s coffin.
.
.
However the arrests and killings officials said may not impact the graph of violence in Valley, which is bracing up for a hot summer.

“Violence is going to increase most likely. The two countries continue to remain at loggerheads, and activity along LoC has heightened as well,” said an official in northern Kashmir.

Infiltration has increased and a new group The Resistance Front, which police say is an offshoot of Lashkar e Toiba has carried out several attacks within the Valley in past few weeks. “There is possibility of more attacks in coming weeks which is reflected in the inputs and communication intercepts received for sometime now,” a top police official told ET.

Seems like another Pulwama type incident has been averted, looks like IK was advertising this as a false flag operation, I suspect that some this stuff has been stashed in Kashmir which came as part of cross LOC trade earlier.

Good work forces

Gentlemen,

What if this car was meant to be chased, conveniently abandoned and found with its 40-45 kg of explosives in a blue drum? How convenient! What if this itself is a diversionary tactic, a ruse by the pakis to divert Indian attention and to prod the army intelligence to lower it's guard?

It has been done before with disastrous results.

Im the Dim's constant tweeting on "false flag ops" has been going on for a while. That's a dead giveaway. It means that the pakis have been planning this for a while. You have to give them some credit on innovating. They seem to learnt from their mistakes. This one-car-attempt should not be seen as an isolated event.

Just my two cents.

On a Republic TV discussion yesterday, one of the panelists, instead of praising the forces for thwarting what could have been a very damaging terror attack, was openly wondering why such a vehicle was allowed to roam around during a lockdown. As if the security personnel are omnipotent and omnipresent! Anything, anything at all, to discredit India, Modi, the BJP and the army, police and paramilitary in Kashmir.
