India Border Watch: Security and Operations
Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
Come on guys, I think this will be a repeat of 1967. They crossed the lakshman rekha. I think we crossed the escalation ladder for a small scale war.

I hope we got to keep the LSV. It looks quite good
Not sure which unit but looks like it has served in Siachen. You can hear multiple dialects when they are abusing the chinis.
However, no one is carrying a Gun in this video or atleast I couldn't see one.

The image in this tweet probably helps define the situation.
Rudimentary, but self explanatory ?
Feel free to use if you need it ! #PangongTso #IndiaChinaFaceOff https://t.co/HCkzdJ4Dyq
P.S : How can one upload an image.

Complete air dominance across LAC from India.
https://twitter.com/drapr007/status/126 ... 22208?s=20Now IAF and IA have taken complete strategic edge along LAC in Laddakh.Chinese would never have imagined that the Indian security forces would deploy so soon & enter operational mode. Perhaps they are looking for a way to dignified return. Our construction works hv been resumed.

Looks like the Indian soldier is protecting the soldier on the ground from being killed. However the soldiers surrounding them are also Indian. So it looks like one of the Chinese on the ground.

May 30, 2020 : SWAPPING OF MILITARY ISLANDS BETWEEN INDIA AND AUSTRALIA TO COUNTER CHINA’S AGGRESSION
Full Content Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison could sign a much-awaited maritime defence pact between the two nations in an upcoming virtual summit scheduled on June 4, 2020. Once signed it will allow the militaries of India and Australia to access each other military islands i.e. India’s Andaman & Nicobar island and Australia’s Cocos island. The Mutual Logistics Support Agreement (MLSP) pact was expected to be signed during the Australian Prime Minister visit to India, but the visit was called off due to bush fires in Australia. India has signed a similar pact with countries like the US, Singapore, France, and South Korea which allow each other to use their bases for logistics support.

Was watching Barkha Dutt after 3 years. She was doing a show on this China situation. I was surprised to see that the show was not too different from the stuff one might read here.
One thing that came up, was multiple name dropping of General Sundarji, from what I have learnt about him, he was probably the most consequential post 1971 COAS India has ever had. His thinking has become India's China policy, Pakistan policy and Nuclear policy.

Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
Have received confirmation. Of India’s stand on Ladakh from US.
Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
That is how a dharmic soldier treats even his enemies. Indian soldier is trying to protect/restrain the chinese soldier from the stones thrown by his own side. This is our greatest strength and many times our weakness because your enemies like pakis especially will not treat u like that. captain kalia comes to mind.
Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
We need a game plan to push them all the way back. Holding air power and pushing them in the ground is good option. If they fire on us, we can retaliate via air.
Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
a clarification on the vid : is this between finger 4 towards finger 1 or finger 4 towards finger 8 ? if towards finger 1 means there is a motorable track all the way towards finger 1 and finger 8. I used to think finger 4 forms a kind of natural obstacle ??
Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
I believe it is motorable throughout, but one lane. Which is why Chinese vehicles have to reverse or enter Indian territory to turn around.
One a different note, I wonder if the injured Chinese was trying to defect. Dunno. Just a thought.
Finally, as long as WtP chooses not to fire a shot, which so far seems to be the case, India can push them back using sticks and stones. China is going backwards into the stone age. India needs to slowly shut the Chinese imports. Especially after this back stabbing.

The vehicle that is stuck is Dongfeng Mengshi from DongFeng Motors

As to the captured Chini, there should be proper and official handover after proper debrief. Full Media Circus.
One can place the regiment from the tone of Choicest Expletives being used.

Similarly, with a view to preventing dangerous military activities along the line of actual control in the India-China border areas, Article VI stipulates that:
(1)Neither side shall open fire, cause bio-degradation, use hazardous chemicals, conduct blast operations or hunt with guns or explosive within two kilometres from the line of actual control. This prohibition shall not apply to routine firing activities in small arms firing ranges.
Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
^^^^ Maybe I am reading too much between the lines, but I think @Iyerval's comment on the Chinese affecting precious natural resources and thereby violating our trust has something to do with "cause bio-degradation" clause above; it could be that they cut some trees, or built a small dam to divert water flow for tactical reasons.

Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
The question is, are the Indians part of the ITBP or regular IA? That Chinese vehicle should have been destroyed with explosives. Instead of the futility of getting worked up with sticks and stones, an LMG should have opened up on the Chinese.chola wrote:Whoa! It really looks like we captured one of them. Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
I suspect attacking the vehicles with sticks was done because as per the protocols in place, these troops had to be unarmed.Mort Walker wrote:The question is, are the Indians part of the ITBP or regular IA? Maybe sticking a cigarette in the gas tank or just driving it over to the Indian side would be more suitable.

Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
Makes sense too because both the IN & RAN operate the same ASW assets - P8 and very soon the MH-60R, so it'll help if these islands have common bases for operating such aircraft. Also picked up this interesting tit-bit while looking up on the P8...NRao wrote:^^^^^

This deployment is one of the biggest benefits of a CDS structure -- by using the P-8I as a AEW/SIGINT/ELINT platform, the CDS seems to have plugged the shortage of such platforms in the IAF by bringing in assets from the IN. Members would like to take note that the IN now has a bigger AEW/SIGINT/ELINT fleet than the IAF, so in future there will be more such strange sights like this -- of a navy aircraft flying over icy peaks...In February 2020, Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat stated that "I came to know about the capabilities of the P-8I anti-submarine warfare planes after they were deployed in Doklam for surveillance."

The fiber glass sheilds are labelled "Police"
ITBP == Indo Tibet Border Police
This is on the eastern side of Finger 4.

Strangely comforting too. Huge contrast with the pakis.

some kerosene oil on the vehicle ??

Is this road new? So the only access to DBO earlier was via Sasoma - Saser La - Murgo? The former route seems quite long for it to have been built in a couple of years.Deans wrote:We have done a lot since then including the Durbuk-Shyok-Murgo road.
But if this road is indeed newly built, then one can understand the Chinese angst - we building alternative routes that can enable faster logistics and reinforce our hold on SSN.
Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
Simple solution to Disable the Armored cars/trucks.
Water -- Force open the FUEL cap of Armored TRUCK and Pour 4-5 gallons of water in --
or
Have ITBP -- carry Small 1-2 litre bottles of Sodium Silicate solution and do pour that in -- That will Cause the Engine to completely Seize -- Block the ROAD and the Chinese will have to TOW it back to 1500 KM ..

^^ Or just pour some sand into the fuel tank - available in plenty in the desert
Why not seize it and display in our camp near the ITBP sign for satellites to capture? China would have to grin and bear it, or ask for it back. Either way, loss of face for them ...

displeasure. The previous route was not just longer, but not available all year. Apart from giving us the ability to rapidly reinforce Daulat Beg Oldi, we can also monitor the LAC from Murgo to Shyok.

Re: India Border Watch: Security and Operations
Because no matter who is in power, indian intelligence has always served political ends. Rot started years ago during congress rule, raw was perennially misused. Not much has been done to reverse that even now. Painful and deeply disappointing to a jingo.Mort Walker wrote:Seems this was all done according to Chinese plan including spreading the virus. With the world preoccupied with the horrendous pandemic that China gifted the world, "Xi is taking bold steps on issues where he’s often faced international pushback, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, the South China Sea and a disputed border with India."
Because India has been busy fighting the Coronavirus and funds have been starved from the forces. What better time to plan this. The big unanswered question is how come China was able to implement this movement of troops and material without being detected by Indian forces until India was presented with a fait accompli. This is not very complimentary for India's ISR capabilites.
