+1. This was the root cause. The Islamists think that they have the rights to insult every one, but no one should retailiate. After they got back in kind, what they did was to delete the offensive post they made and spread the response to that message and call for a riot. This has been their
modus operandi across the world. Same MO was also used to target Hindus working in Middle East (i.e hurt their religion, and when they respond hide the original post and only show their response) and hound them out of the Sheikdoms.

In a 20+ years old movie
Sathya; Paresh Rawal (as Com.Pol of Mumbai City) makes a very punching dialogue.
"Underworld kuch bhi kar sakte hein, kyon ki woh kanoon todthe hein. Hum kuch nahi kar sakte hein kyonki kanoon hame rokthi hein" or words to that effect. It is easy to advice police to grow what ever body part. But for a criminal there is nothing to lose as he is any way not bothered about law and courts. A police man is bound to obey the laws and rules and have more to lose (his job etc.). How many of these advisors would be willing to help (financially & legally) a police man if he skips the legal process and take
law into his/her own hands?

In UP many of the rioters had shops or other business establishments which could be seized. But in Bangalore that may not happen. Looks like many of the rioters would be folks like plumbers, electricians etc who generally operate at an individual level (on call basis). The only way would be to deal with the riot monger leaders. SDPI and PFI seems to be really making in roads into KA (they already have a good presence in KL).
30+ years ago riots were common in towns and villages with significant "peaceful" population, but now it is happening over and over again even in some of our safest metros.
We must also note that even in metros the "unsafe" areas are peacefool ghettos only. Bangalore is now a big city, and these riots still only happen in ghettos. I stay in one part of the city where riots do not happen. Reason; there are no ghettos in this part of the woods. The gentry here are also not the
suite boot variety and willing to give back every thing in equal measure.

I tend to agree with you. But in many Indian cities the police force also is not adequate. So at many times "intelligence" machinery etc. are only in paper. And secondly, the police may have ignored the first set of morphed pictures (targetting the Hindus) assuming that Hindus by and large do not indulge in arson and rioting. But when some one (who perhaps knew that police would do nothing on the first morphed picture) retaliated; then things went out of control. All these posts and counter posts are happening in social media; some thing which Indian police do not monitor at a police station level (or not even at Sub.Div and District level). The cyber policing capabilities are very very small and thinned out.
Ths is something that the muslim community needs to resolve from within and it has to do so fast.
Agree with you. To be frank; many non-Muslims have now lost faith in the police and judicial system in India and with the Muslim community. This is going to cause more long term damage, so much so that every one would then
take law into their own hands (as they say in movies)
. Bluffs like "protecting a Hindu temple" etc have already been called out. Many non-Muslims also feel that even the tolerant group of Muslims are remaining passive (and not dissuading the more intolerant groups) because they have nothing to lose.
