A slightly OT here I guess but it seems like Oracle now (after MS) is interested in buying Tiktok's US business operations. Just shows the penetration of the app in to US consumers & amount of business revenues potential it has to elicit such interest levels!

I'm not trying to contradict your view, but in all my years of living in Massaland, I have NEVER-ONCE seen a Hindu priest aligned with any political organization or platform. I have seen plenty of Imams, Priests of various denominations, Sikh gurus, and even Buddhist monks dipping their toes in social/political spheres, but never an Hindu priest.

The above is just my personal observation.

The Americans nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki and firebombed Dresden and Tokyo (which probably burnt more people alive than even the nukes). Excellent point. History was re written in the 1970s to make it seem like the persecution of Jews leading up to the Holocaust was a big reason for the Allies opposing Hitler. In fact it barely registered and the US and Britain both shamefully turned away boatloads of Jewish refugees (literal boatloads). They denied visas to Jews despite repeated appeals and plenty of evidence of what they were suffering. The truth doesn't make any of the participants look good.

The Anglo war propaganda during the Second World War is quite clear that Hitler is dangerous because he wants to take over the world. The Holocaust stuff became amped up 24/7 decades later.

I recommend "Human Smoke" on this topic. All it contains is a series of excerpts from primary sources of the WW2 era, arranged in time order. Reading through them, you get a sense of just how awful the war was on ALL sides, and how much nastiness was later airbrushed out of the Anglo story of WW2 because they won.

All of these distortions of history are ongoing. They don't usually lie outright, although that does happen in spectacular fashion from time to time. The usual method is the same as how Western media lies. They omit or fail to cover a certain set of facts and stories. They amplify a certain set of other stories, and create a great deal of noise and energy around certain events which creates the impression that there *must* be something there (no smoke without fire, aka Russia Russia Russia). The overall result is always a very targeted distortion of the "narrative".

Controlling the narrative is controlling the "truth". This is how history is controlled, including journalism which is literally just the history of the present.

Out of millions of arrests, police rarely kill anyone of any race but when they do, the suspect is almost always armed and/or fighting and resisting (i.e. a threat)

Although rare, the odds were greater that white suspects killed by police would be unarmed.

But he definitely is the American president China deserved,” Friedman said on “Squawk Box.” “We needed to have a president who was going to call the game with China. And Trump has done it, with I would say more grit and toughness than any of his predecessors. I give him credit for that.”
At the same time, Friedman said he believes the way Trump sought to confront China over international trade and other geopolitical issues would have been more constructive if he had brought along American allies from the outset.
″[Trump] thought he could do it alone. He thought he could do it without a coalition,” the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist said. “Remember, it was the country that had the biggest coalition that won World War I. It was country that had the biggest coalition that won World War II. It was the country that had the healthiest coalition that won the Cold War, and it will be same with China.”
Despite his analogies, Friedman said he was not “looking for a war” between the U.S. and China. But the world’s two largest economies are engaged in a critical “struggle,” he contended.
“I’ve always felt from the beginning that if we made this challenge with China, the United States alone versus China, we will lose,” said Friedman, who works at what Trump has repeatedly called “the failing New York Times” for what the president considers a liberal bent at the media organization. “If we make it the world versus China, on what are the right and fair rules of international commerce and technology in the 21st century, we can win.”

The US is not a white supremacist nation in the conventional sense.

The South was a white supremacist nation. The South was defeated 150 years ago, and then was totally crushed out of existence- its culture, its memory, everything- over the next 100 years.

The best way to understand the US is that the Union (The North) won the Civil War. The Union is a Christian nation. Specifically, a very puritanical breed of Christianity which today we call "progressivism" or "the left". The US has been a big factor in the global dominance of "the left" among the elites of nations, especially colonized nations! This includes communism!

All that ityaadi about "human rights"! "international community". "international law". "United Nations". This is the real US world order.

This is very important to keep in mind when looking at the US. The white supremacist vision is a distraction. It is the ghost of the South, which the evangelical progressives & leftists use to distract. In fact, the US crushes "white people" more so than any nation on earth, because it allows the progressive elites to exercise domestic power (the ones who really run the country, the ones who fund "color revolutions" around the world, the ones who can't talk about India without talking about "rape culture" and "Muslim oppression" and "LGBTQ+ rights"). It also makes the (largely white!) adherents of the progressive religion into stronger believers. The progressive "religion" gets more insane over time.

Another way of looking at the US is that for the past 60 years, it has been stuck in a cold civil war. This cold civil war is evolving slowly and getting worse over time. BLM, Antifa, Dept. of Homeland Security, etc... these are all agents in the war, on one side or another.

What are the two sides? We can call one side, the dominant side, BlueGov. The dominant institution of BlueGov, and America as a whole, is the Progressive Church. We can call it Blue Church. The Blue Church is the one incessantly preaching about "human rights violations", "democratic movements", "international community", "peaceful protesters", "LGBTQ rights", blah blah.

On BlueGov's side are the vast majority of powerful American institutions. The biggest of these are the university/academic complex, and the "mainstream media" complex (NYTimes, CNN, etc.). In foreign policy, the champions of BlueGov are the State Dept., and to some extent the CIA.

The other side, the "opposition" side, is RedGov. RedGov's biggest institutions are the military/industrial complex, the energy sector, the small business sector (petit bourgeoisie). Up until recently, Big Capital was leaning to RedGov side, climaxing under Reagan; which balanced the power of the two sides somewhat, but sold out the American people. Over the last 30 years since Bill Clinton's famous "neoliberal shift", Capital has firmly swung towards BlueGov, which is why since then, RedGov is being slowly destroyed and swallowed up by BlueGov. You may remember Mitt Romney, who was the last gasp of capital on RedGov's side; you can clearly see where he is now, joining BLM protests and furiously "resisting" Trump.

In foreign policy, RedGov's champion is the Pentagon. RedGov is the one preaching about "Soviet Evil Empire", "China military threat", "Iraq WMD" etc. because it brings juice to the Pentagon/military industrial complex. During the early Cold War, RedGov almost had the upper hand due to the "communist scare" at home (which was quickly quashed) and because of the nuclear threat being so big in everyone's minds. However, the Vietnam War broke the back of RedGov which they didn't ever recover from. (remember after a decade of BlueGov media coverage, just how badly the American public viewed returning soldiers?)

Yet another way of understanding these two sides is that this is a cold civil war between America's priestly caste (Boston Brahmins, New England puritans, Coastal elites, "sophisticated" values) and America's warrior class (heartland America, military families, police). The priests have, as part of the war, enslaved the "lumpenproletariat" as Marx would put it; as Hindus we would recognize them as the marginalized castes (America's "untouchables"). The warriors have allied with the shopkeepers. Finally, the mass of laborers are still split between the two factions.

The main reason for this is that ever since BlueGov sold out the laborer class with the Clinton Shift 30 years ago, they have been importing millions of legal and illegal Hispanic laborers into America as a voting bloc. BlueGov simply will not allow RedGov agencies (ICE, DHS) to effectively deal with the illegal immigration- think of the media coverage of the "undocumented immigrants". Just by paralyzing the enforcement mechanisms, the situation spirals out of control until the only "solution" is amnesty, and along with it, millions of new votes, and keeping the laboring class split (the largest vote bloc by far).

^ That needs to be done because of the lack of positive discrimination for blacks over the years. The storyline has been one of removing one type of negative discrimination, and then inventing a new way of negative discrimination to disadvantage blacks or having other groups like women or hispanics lay claim to opportunities on offer for minorities.

However, BLM is a lobbying/political organization, so we're starting to see more explicit statements versus just a hashtag or just a plain BLM statement.

Many companies are openly advertising goals of having x% african americans in leadership position. Reminds of episodes of my former employer wanting to get their metric look better so hiring and installing minority females and many competent male engineers just quitting and moving on to different companies.

Women ,especially Indians may have rejected his advances. In that classic film " Good Morning Vietnam", disparaging remarks are broadcast about him by Robin Williams.When Williams' boss protests to the CO about it,he shrugs it off saying that he knows the Veep v.well,a friend and that he was just like that!

This prejudice against India has still not been eradicated in the Washington establishment. Nixon types still love their martial Pakis in uniform to silver-tongue smith Yindoo diplomats.

There had always been this trope of the guy who "lives in mom's basement" in the US. It was meant to be demeaning and a kick in the pants to people (usually men) thought of as losers.

But 52% is a massive number. That's Desi or Asian-type numbers. lol

Traditionally when I was growing up, when they reach 18, the aim for Amreeki young people was to leave the house and enjoy freedom and dating and sex in a pad of your own. You either went to college and dormed or took up work and an apartment. You would have roommates if you need to rent in more expensive cities like LA or New York. Roommates and their friends are also good avenues for dating and sex.

Did I mention that living in mom's basement is not good for dating and prospect of sex?

This has more to do with economics than anything else. Cost of college education in the US has become exorbitant even before the pandemic. An excellent student in the sciences and engineering at a ranked state university is still going to pay nearly $15K/year in tuition and fees after various scholarships. This is before living costs. Private ranked universities will be even more.

I predict the pandemic will adversely affect many universities both public and private ones financial outlook very severely.

If you're in expensive metro and want to stay there, you have no choice. Many go to out of state colleges and rack up huge student loans, come to their senses, and head back to parents. Some parents also have them listed in their homes for medicaid planning.
