A slightly OT here I guess but it seems like Oracle now (after MS) is interested in buying Tiktok's US business operations. Just shows the penetration of the app in to US consumers & amount of business revenues potential it has to elicit such interest levels!

I'm not trying to contradict your view, but in all my years of living in Massaland, I have NEVER-ONCE seen a Hindu priest aligned with any political organization or platform. I have seen plenty of Imams, Priests of various denominations, Sikh gurus, and even Buddhist monks dipping their toes in social/political spheres, but never an Hindu priest.

The above is just my personal observation.

As the Democratic National Convention begins, some Texas Democrats wish their state had a bigger role
https://www.texastribune.org/2020/08/17 ... onvention/
As for Castro, he and his fans have focused on Latino representation in the lineup. The prime-time programing features solo speeches by at least three Latinas: U.S. Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada, U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico.

In an MSNBC interview over the weekend, Castro said he sympathized with organizers who had to figure out a slimmed-down program due to the pandemic. But he said he would “be lying to you if I said that I am not disappointed that there aren’t more Latinos and Latinas generally speaking on that program, and that there’s not a Native American, not a Muslim American.”

“You think about the beautiful coalition that has become the Democratic Party over the last few years — I’m not sure right now it’s fully represented on that stage,” said Castro, who saw firsthand how helpful a prime-time solo speech could be when he delivered the keynote address one night at the 2012 convention.

Texas Democrats will nonetheless get to hear from big names like Castro and O’Rourke during delegation programming hosted by the state party. Castro and O’Rourke, for example, will join Stacey Abrams, the former Georgia gubernatorial candidate, and MJ Hegar, Texas’ U.S. Senate nominee, for a panel Thursday evening before the final night of the convention, when Biden speaks.

The two agendas are contradictory. However, there has been more outreach towards Islamic political groups, which means the Hilal-e-Pakistan winner, Jihadi Joe, will favor Islamists before Indians.

This is just like that pregnant terrorist crying hoarse about morality so docile india doesn't keep her in jail. I'm glad america wasn't like india during ww2.
The Americans nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki and firebombed Dresden and Tokyo (which probably burnt more people alive than even the nukes). The British allowed millions to die during the famine in India because Churchill was a racist who hated Indians, not to mention their atrocities in Africa. They didn't fight the Germans because the Nazis were evil, they fought them because the Germans were cutting in on their Global Domination business. The true horror of the holocaust was only revealed after the war.
Excellent point. History was re written in the 1970s to make it seem like the persecution of Jews leading up to the Holocaust was a big reason for the Allies opposing Hitler. In fact it barely registered and the US and Britain both shamefully turned away boatloads of Jewish refugees (literal boatloads). They denied visas to Jews despite repeated appeals and plenty of evidence of what they were suffering. The truth doesn't make any of the participants look good.

The Anglo war propaganda during the Second World War is quite clear that Hitler is dangerous because he wants to take over the world. The Holocaust stuff became amped up 24/7 decades later.

I recommend "Human Smoke" on this topic. All it contains is a series of excerpts from primary sources of the WW2 era, arranged in time order. Reading through them, you get a sense of just how awful the war was on ALL sides, and how much nastiness was later airbrushed out of the Anglo story of WW2 because they won.

All of these distortions of history are ongoing. They don't usually lie outright, although that does happen in spectacular fashion from time to time. The usual method is the same as how Western media lies. They omit or fail to cover a certain set of facts and stories. They amplify a certain set of other stories, and create a great deal of noise and energy around certain events which creates the impression that there *must* be something there (no smoke without fire, aka Russia Russia Russia). The overall result is always a very targeted distortion of the "narrative".

Controlling the narrative is controlling the "truth". This is how history is controlled, including journalism which is literally just the history of the present.

American Muslim groups rally thousands to get political on National Muslim Voter Registration Day
https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/28/politics ... index.html
(CNN)American Muslim activists across the country are rallying their communities Friday to participate in National Muslim Voter Registration Day to impact the 2020 presidential election.
MPower Change, in collaboration with grassroots organizations, launched the #MyMuslimVote campaign to promote a nationwide virtual registration drive. The group bills itself as the largest Muslim digital advocacy organization in the US, with more than 250,000 members.
"The stakes in 2020 elections couldn't be higher for our community," MPower says on its website. "Join the #MyMuslimVote movement to engage, motivate, and mobilize tens of thousands of Muslim voters."
The group aims to register American Muslim voters through its website, which also provides resources for local activists to organize within their communities.

Participating organizations have already reached out to nearly half a million registered Muslim voters, and are sending email and text message reminders to encourage American Muslims to vote in person or by mail, they said.

how true is this

Leonydus Johnson@LeonydusJohnson·Aug 28

January 2019:
Matthew Tuhkanan was shot and killed in St. Louis Park, MN after being non-compliant and reaching for something in a blindspot. He was unarmed.
Leonydus Johnson@LeonydusJohnson·Aug 28

January 2019:
Shawn Billinger was shot and killed in Fort Lupton, CO after running from officers and then turning and walking aggressively toward an officer. He was unarmed.
Leonydus Johnson@LeonydusJohnson

Now for some stats. In 2019:

- 403 white suspects were killed
- 24 white suspects were unarmed
- 250 black people were killed
- 14 black suspects were unarmed
- 5.9% of white suspects killed were unarmed
- 5.6% of black suspects killed were unarmed
4:19 PM · Aug 28, 2020

Leonydus Johnson@LeonydusJohnson

Out of millions of arrests, police rarely kill anyone of any race but when they do, the suspect is almost always armed and/or fighting and resisting (i.e. a threat)

Although rare, the odds were greater that white suspects killed by police would be unarmed.

BLM is based on lies.

Trump is the U.S. president that China deserves, says New York Times’ Thomas Friedman
PUBLISHED TUE, SEP 1 202010
Kevin Stankiewicz

New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman told CNBC on Tuesday he applauds President Donald Trump’s decision to take a harder stance on China than previous commanders in chief.
“Donald Trump is not the American president America deserves, in my opinion. But he definitely is the American president China deserved,” Friedman said on “Squawk Box.” “We needed to have a president who was going to call the game with China. And Trump has done it, with I would say more grit and toughness than any of his predecessors. I give him credit for that.”
At the same time, Friedman said he believes the way Trump sought to confront China over international trade and other geopolitical issues would have been more constructive if he had brought along American allies from the outset.
″[Trump] thought he could do it alone. He thought he could do it without a coalition,” the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist said. “Remember, it was the country that had the biggest coalition that won World War I. It was country that had the biggest coalition that won World War II. It was the country that had the healthiest coalition that won the Cold War, and it will be same with China.”
Despite his analogies, Friedman said he was not “looking for a war” between the U.S. and China. But the world’s two largest economies are engaged in a critical “struggle,” he contended.
“I’ve always felt from the beginning that if we made this challenge with China, the United States alone versus China, we will lose,” said Friedman, who works at what Trump has repeatedly called “the failing New York Times” for what the president considers a liberal bent at the media organization. “If we make it the world versus China, on what are the right and fair rules of international commerce and technology in the 21st century, we can win.”

Markey defeats Kennedy for Senate as O’Connor claims victory on Republican side
https://www.bostonherald.com/2020/09/01 ... -the-wire/
U.S. Sen. Edward Markey fended off a bitter primary challenge from U.S. Rep. Joseph Kennedy III on Tuesday — a historic win for the incumbent that effectively boots his challenger out of politics and ends his family’s political dynasty in Massachusetts in one fell swoop.

“You have my unending gratitude,” a victorious Markey said to supporters late Tuesday night in his hometown of Malden.

The 74-year-old incumbent showered praise on the youth movement that helped propel him to victory over his 39-year-old challenger in a race that turned generational politics on its head.

It used to be that Google would fill in "biden hi" as "biden Hindutva". Looks like that's been curated to "biden Hindu" now over past couple of weeks.

Did anyone notice biden writing anything during RJB, Janamashtmi, Ganesh Chaturthi, etc.?

Added later: looks like he did for Chaturthi.
'Michhami Dukkaddam & Kshamavani': Joe Biden wishes members of Jain faith; launches campaign to woo Hindus in US

The Biden campaign also announced the launch of 'Hindu Americans for Biden,' as part of its efforts to attract the over two million members of the community in the US and address their issues, including hate crimes.

Hinduism is the fourth largest faith in the US, which represented approximately 1% of the US population in 2016.

Raja Krishnamoorthi, Indian-American Congressman from Illinois, is scheduled to address the first meeting of 'Hindus for Biden' on Thursday, the organisers said on Tuesday.

The move from the Biden campaign comes after the Trump campaign on August 14 announced the formation of the 'Hindu Voices for Trump.'

Nikki Haley says China took ‘naive’ US for a ride, calls India real friend
The US has been pushing for a greater role for India in the strategic Indo-Pacific which is seen by many countries as an effort to contain China’s growing clout in the region.
The US has been pushing for a greater role for India in the strategic Indo-Pacific which is seen by many countries as an effort to contain China’s growing clout in the region.

“Let’s acknowledge how China did it. China was very strategic. This was very planned out and America was very naive. The thought leaders in America thought that if we were nice to China, if we open doors to China, it would become more like the West, that China would become more democratic,” Haley said. Responding to a question from Mastercard CEO and president Ajay Banga, she said this was from both sides of the aisle -- Republican and Democrat leaders, all of whom thought that if the US was nice to China, there would be an alliance.

What the United States has to understand that the Chinese want to be communist and that they are not going to change, the 48-year-old former diplomat said.

“Through this Indo-Pacific strategy, going forward America is learning who its real friends are. When you learn that, yes, it’s India. But now Indians need to go and show more of who they are,” she said.

Explaining, she said that when people come across Indian businesses or an Indian professor or a doctor, they see the warmth, intelligence and genuine side of them, and they want to know more. “What we have to do is not be shy. But really get out there and brag about ourselves. Now is the time for Indians to be proud, be okay talking about those accomplishments and be okay talking about their successes and let chil9dren talk about their accomplishments. That’s really important going forward because...we have to make sure that we take to the next level,” said Haley, whose parents emigrated from Amritsar in Punjab. “Americans are not threatened by Indians and realise that Indians make our country better,” she said.

The US is not a white supremacist nation in the conventional sense.

The South was a white supremacist nation. The South was defeated 150 years ago, and then was totally crushed out of existence- its culture, its memory, everything- over the next 100 years.

The best way to understand the US is that the Union (The North) won the Civil War. The Union is a Christian nation. Specifically, a very puritanical breed of Christianity which today we call "progressivism" or "the left". The US has been a big factor in the global dominance of "the left" among the elites of nations, especially colonized nations! This includes communism!

All that ityaadi about "human rights"! "international community". "international law". "United Nations". This is the real US world order.

This is very important to keep in mind when looking at the US. The white supremacist vision is a distraction. It is the ghost of the South, which the evangelical progressives & leftists use to distract. In fact, the US crushes "white people" more so than any nation on earth, because it allows the progressive elites to exercise domestic power (the ones who really run the country, the ones who fund "color revolutions" around the world, the ones who can't talk about India without talking about "rape culture" and "Muslim oppression" and "LGBTQ+ rights"). It also makes the (largely white!) adherents of the progressive religion into stronger believers. The progressive "religion" gets more insane over time.

Another way of looking at the US is that for the past 60 years, it has been stuck in a cold civil war. This cold civil war is evolving slowly and getting worse over time. BLM, Antifa, Dept. of Homeland Security, etc... these are all agents in the war, on one side or another.

What are the two sides? We can call one side, the dominant side, BlueGov. The dominant institution of BlueGov, and America as a whole, is the Progressive Church. We can call it Blue Church. The Blue Church is the one incessantly preaching about "human rights violations", "democratic movements", "international community", "peaceful protesters", "LGBTQ rights", blah blah.

On BlueGov's side are the vast majority of powerful American institutions. The biggest of these are the university/academic complex, and the "mainstream media" complex (NYTimes, CNN, etc.). In foreign policy, the champions of BlueGov are the State Dept., and to some extent the CIA.

The other side, the "opposition" side, is RedGov. RedGov's biggest institutions are the military/industrial complex, the energy sector, the small business sector (petit bourgeoisie). Up until recently, Big Capital was leaning to RedGov side, climaxing under Reagan; which balanced the power of the two sides somewhat, but sold out the American people. Over the last 30 years since Bill Clinton's famous "neoliberal shift", Capital has firmly swung towards BlueGov, which is why since then, RedGov is being slowly destroyed and swallowed up by BlueGov. You may remember Mitt Romney, who was the last gasp of capital on RedGov's side; you can clearly see where he is now, joining BLM protests and furiously "resisting" Trump.

In foreign policy, RedGov's champion is the Pentagon. RedGov is the one preaching about "Soviet Evil Empire", "China military threat", "Iraq WMD" etc. because it brings juice to the Pentagon/military industrial complex. During the early Cold War, RedGov almost had the upper hand due to the "communist scare" at home (which was quickly quashed) and because of the nuclear threat being so big in everyone's minds. However, the Vietnam War broke the back of RedGov which they didn't ever recover from. (remember after a decade of BlueGov media coverage, just how badly the American public viewed returning soldiers?)

Yet another way of understanding these two sides is that this is a cold civil war between America's priestly caste (Boston Brahmins, New England puritans, Coastal elites, "sophisticated" values) and America's warrior class (heartland America, military families, police). The priests have, as part of the war, enslaved the "lumpenproletariat" as Marx would put it; as Hindus we would recognize them as the marginalized castes (America's "untouchables"). The warriors have allied with the shopkeepers. Finally, the mass of laborers are still split between the two factions.

The main reason for this is that ever since BlueGov sold out the laborer class with the Clinton Shift 30 years ago, they have been importing millions of legal and illegal Hispanic laborers into America as a voting bloc. BlueGov simply will not allow RedGov agencies (ICE, DHS) to effectively deal with the illegal immigration- think of the media coverage of the "undocumented immigrants". Just by paralyzing the enforcement mechanisms, the situation spirals out of control until the only "solution" is amnesty, and along with it, millions of new votes, and keeping the laboring class split (the largest vote bloc by far).

What is odd about BLM is that completely apolitical scientific organizations have made a statement like the American Physical Society. Science should be based on merit, not quotas or reservations as it has always been transparent.
https://www.aps.org/programs/minorities/june10.cfm
APS closed on June 10 to stand in support and solidarity with the Black community and #Strike4BlackLives, and to commit to eradicating systemic racism and discrimination, especially in academia and science.

We are committed to supporting, encouraging, and building the community of Black physicists. As a scholarly society, our role is to define and communicate strategies that bring the community together and to implement programs and convene physicists to help create a just, equitable, and inclusive STEM field. But there is more to be done—together. We ask that you use this day to reflect, to use your voice, to take action, to recognize all those who have been treated unfairly and unjustly, and to commit to bringing about long-lasting, transformational change.

^ That needs to be done because of the lack of positive discrimination for blacks over the years. The storyline has been one of removing one type of negative discrimination, and then inventing a new way of negative discrimination to disadvantage blacks or having other groups like women or hispanics lay claim to opportunities on offer for minorities.

However, BLM is a lobbying/political organization, so we're starting to see more explicit statements versus just a hashtag or just a plain BLM statement.

Many companies are openly advertising goals of having x% african americans in leadership position. Reminds of episodes of my former employer wanting to get their metric look better so hiring and installing minority females and many competent male engineers just quitting and moving on to different companies.

Talk is talk,Biden had better " bide..n his time",he isn't pres. yet.Outin packed of ISIS in Syria which the mighty US of A
couldn't do .

New revelations about Nixon's racist commemnts about Indians uncovered."Indian women repulsive, sexless, undoubdtedly the lomost unattrpactive in the world, they turn me off".
" The most sexless ,nothing, these people.I mean people say, what about black Africans? Well, you can see some something, the vitality there,I mean they have a little animal charm, but God,those Indians, ack, pathetic, uck."

"To me, they turn me off.How the hell do they turn other people on,Henry? Tell me." After William Rodgers mentions reprimanding Mrs.G,Nixon says,I don't know how they reprodice!"
Indira was called a " bitch",Indians as " bast** ds", and another Nixon classic about Indians," a scavenging people."

Well Mrs.G right royally screwed him every which way in the kamasutra and ways not in it too, over the Bamgladesh war, gave him and the Enterprise the upturned finger. As for Nixon's own charming looks, his nose and jowls made him so unattractive that I'm positive that the most unattractive Kamathipura courtesan would've rejected even a $1000 for the privilege of giving him a job that begins with the letter B!

Nixon's comments about Indian women being "repulsive, sexless etc" come at an interesting time though. A time when a half indian half black women is vying to be vp.

And when chinese don't want Indians closer to Trump's America. The headlines should have been to include reality about Jewish being racist and not only have nixon out there. Nixon already holds no value so it's easier to throw him out there.

More Nixonians!

" I tell you the Pakistanis are fine people, but are primitive in their mental structure ( 10/10 my boy!),. The just don't have the subtlety of Indians ." (10/10 again. No wonder you're pres.!)

Kissinger to Nixon,17/6/'71.
Indians " are superb flatterers,Mr.President.They are masters of subtle flattery. That's how they survived 600 years...( 8/10 for you
Henry K.)‐--------their great skill is to suck up to people in key positions". 0/10 for you Henry!

Nixon's sexual prejudices may have stemmed from being a loser in the Casanova stakes as a young man. He lacked an iota of romanticism. He came across as an unlikeable hard b'turd. Women ,especially Indians may have rejected his advances. In that classic film " Good Morning Vietnam", disparaging remarks are broadcast about him by Robin Williams. When Williams' boss protests to the CO about it,he shrugs it off saying that he knows the Veep v.well,a friend and that he was just like that!

This prejudice against India has still not been eradicated in the Washington establishment. Nixon types still love their martial Pakis in uniform to silver-tongue smith Yindoo diplomats.

A new bill seeking to reduce criminal penalty for LGBT adults indulging in consensual sex with a minor was passed by the California General Assembly, comprising of a Democratic supermajority.

The new bill—SB 145—which is headed to Governor Gavin Newsom’s office, was tabled by Sen. Scott Wiener (D), an avowed gay man. The bill seeks to prevent the gay adults who sodomise or perform oral sex with underage teenagers from being enlisted to California’s sex offender registry.

52% of young adults in the US are living with their parents. That's the highest share since the Great Depression
(CNN)The number of American young adults living with their parents is at or near an all-time high, and the coronavirus pandemic is likely the reason, according to a new analysis.

A new report by the Pew Research Center found that a majority of young adults -- 52% -- lived with one or both of their parents in July. Pew's analysis of monthly Census Bureau data notes that this is higher than any previous measurement.

There had always been this trope of the guy who "lives in mom's basement" in the US. It was meant to be demeaning and a kick in the pants to people (usually men) thought of as losers.

But 52% is a massive number. That's Desi or Asian-type numbers. lol

Traditionally when I was growing up, when they reach 18, the aim for Amreeki young people was to leave the house and enjoy freedom and dating and sex in a pad of your own. You either went to college and dormed or took up work and an apartment. You would have roommates if you need to rent in more expensive cities like LA or New York. Roommates and their friends are also good avenues for dating and sex.

Did I mention that living in mom's basement is not good for dating and prospect of sex?

This has more to do with economics than anything else. Cost of college education in the US has become exorbitant even before the pandemic. An excellent student in the sciences and engineering at a ranked state university is still going to pay nearly $15K/year in tuition and fees after various scholarships. This is before living costs. Private ranked universities will be even more.

I predict the pandemic will adversely affect many universities both public and private ones financial outlook very severely.

If you're in expensive metro and want to stay there, you have no choice. Many go to out of state colleges and rack up huge student loans, come to their senses, and head back to parents. Some parents also have them listed in their homes for medicaid planning.
