A veteran of the Indian Navy was attacked by Shiv Sena goons in Maharashtra on Friday for sharing a cartoon on WhatsApp. A complaint filed has been filed and an FIR has been registered regarding the matter, Times Now has reported. The veteran confirmed that he was brutalised for sharing the WhatsApp forward. He also said that the Police has first come to arrest him.

It's surprising that it's a surprise. Seems lots of people didn't know how Pakistani the Khalistani movement is. But where else could a fugitive Air India bomber, Talwinder Parmar, pose openly at a gun bazaar if not in Pakistan, near the Afghan border? https://macdonaldlaurier.ca/files/pdf/2 ... R_FWeb.pdf

I know that we like to think of media such as Swarajya and OpIndia as representative of our views, but I find them problematic. They represent a westernized right wing version with a primary focus on development from a western perspective. I find it even more problematic that various factions within the BJP use these media to get dubious points across. Two such instances in OpIndia were
1) Whitewashing Ekta K after the armed forces incident which was obviously done at the behest of the Saas/Bahu in the government. Why would you whitewash a Bollywood dirtbag?
2) Making random statements like Congress environmental laws prevented border roads from being built which is obviously coming from anti environmentalist Gdkari who is miffed about the EIA opposition. This is so wrong on so many levels because it makes the Congress party look like a paragon of environmental protection and actually brushes their malicious intent towards Indians sovereignty, under the carpet. It's also a sneaky attempt to dilute already in tatters environmental laws using the present threat. And that is LOW.

There were several self goal and stupid articles by Swarajya too on states, fault lines and of course Monsanto led development of India. These media are not going to appeal to Gen Z and will end up being a flash in the pan. They are defined by "oppose the leftists" and pretend to be 80's style American Neo Conservatives.
We actually have a huge gap. And the cultural marxists (give me another expression) brigade is rushing to fill that in.

At this point, we really don't appear to have media that is truly nationalistic or grounded in India's short, medium and long term interests. As I mentioned above, the cultural marxist brigade will fill in that gap. The so called leftist (I call it BIF) media is much more subtle and influences minds through well thought out arguments.

We need media that is grounded in and uses Indian thought as a framework for discussion. In that, it will be unique and appeal to multiple generations. We don't have it right now.

Shiv Sena has long outlived its purpose, after Balasaheb Thackeray's demise BJP should have worked on splintering Shiv Sena and absorb the worthy ones. This is why someone like Pramod Mahajan would have proved really useful in MH had he been alive, SS wouldn't have lasted this long after everything they've done . When will the people of MH wake up ? 10 lakh covid cases,40% of all covid deaths, hospitals without o2, hospitals where living patients are written up as dead and bundled into body bags, attack on a senior veteran, 110 FIRs on a journalist, 4 journalists still in jail, notice to cable distributors to block a TV network, bulldozing the house of an actress.. outside of nutty Mamata Banerjee, i cannot think of a single CM as destructive as Udhhav Thackeray.

Gadkari, anti environmentalist?
Swarajya and OpIndia, not appealing to zen Z?

You are the one who's spouting westernized worldview of our country. Swarajya and OpIndia are doing fine given the limited resources they have at their disposal. Instead of complaining them, why don't you contribute to them intellectually and financially?
From where we were 10 years ago there is a massive change. Not not just regular media but also other channels like facebook, youtube, twitter etc. Congressi chamchas like you fail to notice beyond your nose the sea changes that are happening all around.

Well hindsight is 20/20. Nobody in BJP could have predicted SS betrayal after winning the elections. Till now BJP-SS had remained allied despite multiple losses in MH in both LS and VS. Breaking up despite winning the election was almost unthinkable. This was a miscalculation of course but one that is understandable. BJP hadn't had a longstanding ally like SS anywhere else in the country (except SAD maybe). Most of the others were fair weather friends who could flip flop at any time. Even if Pramod Mahajan had been alive I don't think the situation would have been different (except for him being the CM instead of Fadnavis perhaps). You don't try to break up and undermine your ally when you need them for winning the election and are fairly confident of doing so if you stay allied. Now that the alliance is well and truly dead, things can change.

It is BJP's naivety to believe Shiv Sena wouldn't backstab them at the first opportunity. BJP has been in an abusive relationship with SS since the 90s when Bal Thackeray and others in SS were never shy of calling BJP leaders choicest of names. Remember how often Manohar Joshi, Pramod Mahajan and Gopinath Munde would be summoned to 'Matoshree' to prostrate in front Bal Thackeray ? Atleast during Sr Thackeray's time the party had some ethos but now they have been reduced to opportunists who snuck into CM's chair through deceit. There's only so much maratha card they can play when the state is in chaos, and they have NCP which also has the exact same cards + Sharad Pawar. The thackerays have squandered long term security for short term gains and have all but ensured the end of their party.

What stops the Govt from bringing in an ordinance citing national security and build whatever roads/lanes that they want? They have the public with them, especially during this China crisis.

My understanding is that this was an issue in the past. These days the rations for the men & officers are the same; with officers also having to bear the cost of their food (by paying the mess bills).

in a democracy, no one is elected to "rule", they are all elected to govern or administer, in the name of the people

as for the mafia famiglia, there is no end to their gaddari. The contours of the "MOU" are slowly becoming clearer. especially when you remember the artillery guns procurement fiasco that left India purposely denuded of it's much needed border security and long range firepower

One final note. You might ask: If these laws are such a bother, why doesn’t Modi sarkar just get rid of them? That’s exactly the plan, now that the government has the numbers in the Rajya Sabha. The new draft EIA notification 2020 is ready. And look who is unhappy.

This is a bogus argument. For defense and border areas there are all sorts of exceptions. Congress lethargy is coming from a different place.
This silly write up is just an apologia to the new EIA.

He needs to give himself a good 3 months to recuperate. Have a couple of junior ministers who report daily and spend some time recovering. These people need to realize that the countries need them healthy in the long run.

Back in December, when he did his magic on CAB, I said the following:
Amit Shah ji, could you please take a well-earned rest for a couple of weeks at least? The country needs you around. Solving one "utterly impossible to solve" issue per month for six months in a row is a hefty strike rate, it is impressive, but it will take its toll.
Some members were suggesting that it couldn't happen, instead Amit Shah needed to double down and work even harder (!!) to get some pending items done.

R&R time is not optional. Especially those who are needed in service of the country - they need to be especially careful to unwind, not maintain these "punishing schedules" as a matter of pride.

Sleeping five hours a day, taking on your juniors' work for them (because you don't trust them), - sounds familiar? That's what Manohar Parrikar ji did. All that sounds very dedicated, but it will have its effect. The bad guys live to be in their 90's, the good ones exhaust themselves much earlier. The BJP has already seen the early demise of several good guys, time to draw some lessons from that.

Wishing Amit Shah well, hope he recovers quickly.

I wish Amit Shahji a healthy life and speedy recovery. He needs a few weeks or maybe even a month long vacation. I remember all the RWs on social media clamouring fo Modi/Shah to do more for Hindu cause in their second term. A lot of them have shut up now but there seems to be an endless list of bereavements ailing the Hindu society and their constant demands and ires are directed to Modi and Shah. What exactly are the other state level worthies doing in the meanwhile. Bangalore was burning a few weeks ago at the hands of peacefools and I'm yet to hear about anything done by Yeddy so far. NE is a cesspool that needs a massive cleanup but it seems that also needs center's help.

Amazing isnt it how those who work hard for the nation and its people always tend to suffer the most . Whereas we have the likes of Lalu Yadav, Mulayam Yadav, Sonia, Digvijay Singh, Sharad Pawar, Deve Gowda, Yechury etc. humming along in their 70s and 80s. Amit Shah needs to rest well, the nation needs him, but its time Modi works on grooming a new generation to take the party and its agenda forward. While Modi is once in a generation leader and not easily replaceable by someone with the same charisma, political acumen and appeal, the party needs to begin thinking about worthy successors to him and Amit Shah . Gadkari is ambitious but does not have pan-India appeal, besides he may not be as smart, witty and grounded as Modi. Yogi Adityanath should definitely get another term as a UP CM followed by a role at the center but again he may not have the vote pulling ability, Shivraj Singh Chauhan is a bit of a softie and the rest are light weights or opportunists. It may sound silly but one person i keep thinking BJP should attract and groom is Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He is young, has leadership qualities, pan India appeal, gutsy and could be a great candidate as the CM face for Jharkhand. The other person who has the quality to deliver is Tejaswi Surya, however he is too young and it is questionable if he can attract votes in the BJP heartland.

Looks like he is having post-COVID symptoms, which can persist for some time:

Luckily these issues don't seem to be life-threatening, but can slow down/debilitate people for months. I feel confident that Amit Shah pulls through relatively well, given the best of medical care at his disposal. Bharat Mata needs him.

Are you talking about the Dindu Charter folks? There cannot be a more disgusting bunch of anti civilization toads. Each one of them has sub average IQ and zero comprehension of civilizational issues. All they do is whine and spread negativity around. I left twitter immediately post 2019 elections because of the mess spewed by these types. Such people create unnecessary pressure on the government by amplifying and creating noise on non issues or issues that should not be prioritized right now.

The second issue is that where is the next rung of leaders to take the heat? Atleast poor souls Rajnath Singh and Nirmala S take people head on. But many of the state level leaders and even some of the ministers are doing nothing. There is a talent deficit.

Delhi Police has clarified that NONE of the above people have been charged as co-conspirators. This seems to be a leftist job to some how get these people's name in the list of accused and then try to get some political mileage out of it. Sonia-ji's laundryman does not have time to encourage rioting etc.
