Bihar Results And The Foundational Hindutva of Narendra Modi

And the genius of Narendra Modi is in transforming this achievement simultaneously into electoral victory over the Congress and other assorted anti-Hindu 'Breaking India' forces.
Brilliant article. Agree 100%. Nobody protected their civilization successfully on an empty stomach. What NaMo is doing is moving people to a level wherein their basic needs are met and they can look to move ahead without being resentful of their fellow people or background.[/quote]
It reminds me a lot of this post I made after GE2019:
post . I quite literally said that hungry poor people subjected to daily indignities cannot be proud of their religion.

There have been references to piped water as a 'freebie' . I think that's really wrong. Rice, farm loan waivers etc are freebies. Piped water, roads, toilets are hard infrastructure that are a must have for basic dignified living. I think it's outrageous that a government has to do them in 2020, after 73 years of independence and 30 years of liberalization. But that is reality - even in 2019 when Jal Jeevan Mission began, only 18% of households had piped water. It is now up to over 30% . Bihar was an early focus state, and that has shown in its electoral performance. This gain will probably only benefit the NDA for one cycle of state and general elections, but that is fine. There's plenty more to do.

KLPD saar

I'm among those who have criticized Modiji's zero progress on certain fronts - like leveling the playing field on the edu and shrines mgmt front.

What Modi-is-infalliable brigade seems to miss - wilful blindness more than anything else - is that vikas and Indic cultural agendas are *not* mutually contradictory. They could and should move hand in hand. But the modi==infalliable brigade always seeks to call pro-H activity as somehow at the expense of much-needed development and welfare activities in some sorta sinister zero sum game, and hence expendable.

I'm yet to hear any real reason (excuses aside) why no change was even attempted in our egregiously written NCERT syllabi history textbooks - not one word (forget page, chapter, course) while over six yrs these same toxic books have managed to poison millions of impressionable Yindoo minds. The same Modi ji who in 2014 campaigining oozed brilliant understanding and sympathy for the impact a further 5 lost years would have on K-12 students!

OK, one can't overturn overnight a decades old marxist-citadel. But then what chankian neeti asks us to put in MHRD a buffoon who boasts he hasn't changed one word in history textbooks?? What maha-compulsion to cater to witches like Maenaka who dumps on our rituals while confidently showing us the finger??

Why nary one word or deed on palghar or the munger firing or any number of other openly anti-H activities when rushing to comment sympathetically for victims of 'gorakshak lynchings' and broken church windows? Are we not Modi ji's well-wishers and voters too? Are our lives and interests so expendable?? So Modi sarkar can conveniently throw us under the bus but hey, our raising these issues and questioning the samraat == periodic whining?

If Modi-shah are indeed top-dogs in the party, can it be truly believed that these mantris (and various CMs like Khattar) act against H interests and festivals etc without the top's implicit OK? How can they feign silence or worse ignorance whenever convenient and still expect Hs to swallow whatever BJP's netas, mantris, CMs etc dish out with nary a question also?

P.S. It's OK. I don't expect you to be able to answer because there is none. There is a pattern that seems to emerge and it is hard to believe what interests Modi-shah may have in not ordering at least an administrative inquiry into, for instance, the Munger firings.

P.S. Nobody but nobody opposes development. Enough with that canard used to slander Modi voters who question modi. Only. Sheesh.
There is a point in what you are saying. Whether it is TN or Kerala or WB or UP, there is a pattern where ordinary BJP workers are ruthlessly murdered by political rivals colluding with jihadis.

May be AS should form a Political work surkasha samithi or use central laws to enforce severe punishment to these political parties which are openly encouraging murders

Diwali Crackers & Pollution Truth uncovered
Good research. Cracker ban is based on a hoax and deliberate malice by the judiciary. The intention is obviously to target a Hindu festival on signal from the church. Usual mercenary Hindu lawyers are involved, especially Sibal. This dude is seen in every case in court against Hindu culture and festivals.

http://samvitkendra.org/wp-content/uplo ... lution.pdf
It would thus seem like the petitioners in the case have used the larger cause of mitigating “air pollution” in Delhi as a mere cloak to cover the real intent of getting fireworks banned across India. What their reasons are for wanting such a ban, what are their motivations and how funds were
arranged to afford top most lawyers like Abhishek M. Singhvi, Kapil Sibal and K.K. Venugopal (he was not the attorney general of India then) are subjects of speculation in which the author would not like to indulge
A clueless minister in Modi government supported this ban in court
That said, another important fact borne out form the points listed above is that the Government of India, through MoEFCC, seems to have supported the interventions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in this case. It may seem a bit difficult to digest for many, especially with BJP in power for the duration of this case, but the fact remains that restrictions being placed on the bursting crackers at the time of Diwali are not because of an unwarranted intrusion by the judiciary into the domain of the executive but rather because of an agreement between both the judiciary and the government.
Is there any other court in the world which has the power to casually go around banning this or that? These people are running a parallel government.

wonder what drives such anti national jehadi pasand politicos to harm their own civilizational roots and cultural heritage.

one fears that the critical mass may well have been reached and the civilizational and cultural onslaught orchestrated by the TMC may coalesce further on its own and continue unabated even without her "protection"

10 November: Mamata Banerjee Received Bad News On Two Fronts On The Same Day

Snapshot
Taking comfort in the exit polls, Mamata Banerjee was awaiting news of a crushing defeat for the NDA in Bihar elections, but she was deeply disappointed.

Wednesday, 10 November, was not supposed to have turned out the way it did for Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee.

She was eagerly awaiting news of a crushing defeat for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar just as the exit polls had predicted.

She was ready with the press releases and was rehearsing what she would tell the TV channels: that Bihar marked the beginning of the end for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and that the latter would come a cropper in Bengal next year.

Nearer home, the show of strength that a senior disgruntled Trinamool leader — Transport Minister Subhendu Adhikari — had planned at Nandigram (which pitchforked Mamata Banerjee to power) was supposed to have turned out to be a damp squib.

That’s what her loyalists had assured her. Adhikari’s rally at Nandigram would fetch very modest crowds and a parallel rally that the party (Trinamool) had organised at the same town the same day would be a mega event, they told her.

Nandigram also turned out to be a major disappointment that day for Banerjee.

Not only people from the Adhikari stronghold of East and West Midnapore districts, but even other districts like Purulia, Bankura, Jhargram, Hooghly and even Murshidabad turned up in huge numbers for his rally.

In contrast, the official Trinamool rally was a tepid affair that drew only modest crowds. The two rallies were organised to commemorate the killing of 14 people during the Nandigram stir in 2007.

As for Bihar, as Wednesday progressed and it became clear that the Mahagathbandhan would not sweep the elections as pollsters had predicted, Banerjee’s eager anticipation of a BJP defeat turned into severe disappointment.

Banerjee had, apart from getting her press releases ready and rehearsing her statements, also planned to announce that she would travel to Patna for the swearing-in of the Mahagathbandhan ministry.

She had also told her senior party colleagues that she would use the swearing-in ceremony, which she expected other opposition leaders to attend, to make another attempt to forge a pan-Indian anti-BJP front.

Banerjee had been nursing national ambitions and has been desperate to play a big role at the Centre.

That is why she organised a mega rally at Kolkata’s mammoth Brigade Parade ground on 19 January last year to which she had invited leaders of all non-NDA parties.

She hoped to lead such a political combination and become the king-maker. Or even occupy the throne herself.

At that rally in January last year, she had given a call for defeating the NDA government at the Centre. The Trinamool billed the rally as a huge success and said that Banerjee had emerged as the fulcrum of a powerful front against the BJP.

The Trinamool chief had truly believed that the NDA would face defeat in the Lok Sabha polls and had, accordingly, told her senior colleagues that she would have to devote more time at the Centre.

“She had told senior Trinamool leaders who are close to her that they would have to manage Bengal on their own as she would have to concentrate in running the government at the Centre. She had also hinted that she would be part of the government in New Delhi,” said a Trinamool insider.

A few senior Trinamool leaders had also started spreading the word around that Banerjee would become the next prime minister.

Those dreams were shattered on 23 May last year (the day the results of the Lok Sabha polls were announced) when the NDA posted a resounding victory. Banerjee was shocked and retreated into a shell, said Trinamool insiders.

This time, too, she had hoped that the defeat of the NDA in Bihar would trigger a coming together of non-NDA parties and she would play a lead role in that.

Once again, she was severely disappointed. So much so that by late Wednesday afternoon when it became clear that the NDA would edge past the Mahagathbandhan, she went into a foul mood and started snapping at her colleagues and office staff.

By Wednesday afternoon, reports of Subhendu Adhikari’s defiant speech targeting her (indirectly) also reached her, further fouling her mood.

She realised that the last-ditch efforts she had initiated to placate Subhendu Adhikari and draw him back into the Trinamool fold had failed.

Subhendu’s father Sisir Adhikari, a Lok Sabha member, had not attended the official party rally at Nandigram even though Banerjee had entrusted him with a major role in its organisation.

She realised that it was only a matter of time before the politically powerful Adhikari family— Sisir and his two sons Subhendu and Dibyendu (who is also a Lok Sabha MP) — broke ranks with her party.

That would pose a major challenge to the Trinamool in the two districts of East and West Midnapore and the neighbouring districts of Jhargram, Bankura and Purulia as well as Hooghly.

Also, the revolt by the Adhikaris would embolden other Trinamool leaders who are unhappy with her for various reasons to indulge in dissident activities and challenge her and her nephew and anointed heir Abhishek Banerjee.

The Bihar results would, she correctly assessed, boost the BJP’s morale and spur them to challenge her with renewed vigour. A defeat in Bihar would have dampened the BJP’s enthusiasm in Bengal, and that was what Banerjee was hoping for.

Apart from the NDA victory in Bihar, the news of Asaduddin Owaisi’s All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) bagging five seats in Seemanchal region of Bihar bordering Bengal was also deeply upsetting for Banerjee.

And when Owaisi, basking in the glory of his party’s electoral success, told TV news channels that his next target is Bengal, Banerjee knew the danger that was knocking on her door.

The AIMIM had been making inroads in Bengal over the past few years and is said to have gained considerable following in the Muslim-dominated districts of Malda and Murshidabad, as well as Muslim-majority areas of North and South 24 Parganas, Nadia and Birbhum.

The AIMIM has been telling Muslims that they are being used as convenient vote banks by the Trinamool, quite like how the Communist Party of India-Marxist or CPI(M) had also used them to hold on to power.

And that the Trinamool, like the CPI(M) before it, had done nothing for the socio-economic development of Muslims.

The AIMIM has also been telling Muslims that sops extended to the community in the form of monthly doles to imams and muezzins were meaningless and did nothing for the betterment of the community.

The AIMIM’s rallies have been attracting growing crowds and this has emerged as a major cause for concern for the Trinamool. Banerjee knows fully well that the AIMIM can severely dent her Muslim vote bank, and that can mean defeat for her at the hustings next year.

An upset and embattled Banerjee, scared of the prospect of losing power next year, spent a major part of Thursday (11 November) confabulating with her hired political strategist Prashant Kishor and some of her close aides.

What strategy she now adopts to curb dissidence within her party, beat back a resurgent BJP and counter the Brigade Parade remains to be seen.

These kinds of posts appear highly disingenuous. If there has been no "retaliatory" action from Amit Shah on the BJP workers' murders, there is a reason for it and a different plan that he wants to have. After all, BJP is their party and I am sure nobody in the party likes their workers being bumped off.

When he wants to act after thinking it through, he will. E.g., immediately ordering security cover for Kangana Ranaut. That was a direct action, but not every action has its effect in a tit-for-tat manner.

There is no point posting here badgering Amit and NaMo to do this or that. Either you trust their intelligence and courage, or you don't. Otherwise, just keep increasing the post count.

14 November, 2020
OpIndia Staff

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has been criticised widely by people on social media for its crackdown on crackers across the country. Ahead of Diwali, the NGT ordered a strict firecracker ban to enforced in all cities and towns where the ambient air quality was poor. It is not clear what they were doing the rest of the year to control pollution and why their attempts were not successful.

Sleeping the entire year and then ruining festivities for everyone on Diwali appears a rather bizarre move. But it’s not the only supremely idiotic move the NGT has proposed in recent times. Some of the solutions they have proposed to pollution are so unbelievably bizarre that they beggar belief. Any sensible country would disband the institution outright and be done with it. But not in our country.

In this report, we shall look into three of the greatest ideas they have come up with.

‘Explore alternatives to traditional cremation’
If Hindus were under the impression that they will be permitted to cremate their dead in peace, they are clearly mistaken. In 2016, the wise men of the NGT asked the Delhi government and the Union Environment Ministry to provide for alternative methods of cremation because the traditional way of cremation was too pollution. We are not joking.

The NGT bench said, “The issue involves question of faith and circumstances in which the people live, … It is, therefore, the responsibility of the men who lead, particularly religious leaders, to steer the faith in a direction so as to change the mindset of people practising their faith and make them adopt practices which are environment-friendly.”

The bench did not stop there, however, and went on to add that during traditional methods of cremation, “the forest cover is sacrificed and obnoxious gases emanated from the burning of human mortal remains pollute the air.” Words cannot capture the indecency of this remark, of course. But then again, such lunacy is the hallmark of Indian governance.

In July, however, the NGT refused to entertain a plea that sought a direction for the installation of alternative methods of cremation to reduce air pollution and to control the spread of the Wuhan Coronavirus.

‘No Mantra chanting at Amarnath Cave’
It is another brilliant idea that the NGT came up with in 2017. The NGT declared the Amarnath cave Shrine a ‘silence zone’ and prohibited religious offerings beyond the entry point. Earlier, the NGT had claimed that declaring the area a ‘silence zone’ will help prevent avalanches. “Nobody would be permitted to carry anything from the stairs leading to the holy cave and everybody should be properly frisked at the entry point. From the point of stairs and the area inside the cave should be declared silence zone,” the NGT bench said.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) was not pleased with such antics and labelled it a “Tughlaki fatwa”. Subsequently, the NGT appeared to walk back on its delusional order and ‘clarified’ that there was no ‘silence zone’ had been declared at the Amarnath Cave Shrine.

‘No Chhat Puja at Sarobar Lake’
Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim and authorities in West Bengal were running pillar to post in September to ensure that the NGT order banning Chhat Puja at the Rabindra Sarobar lake in Kolkata. However, the NGT rejected the West Bengal government’s plea which proposed to facilitate the Hindu festival at the said place.

Subsequently, the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) approached the Supreme Court regarding the matter. The Bench has posted the matter for hearing on the 16th of November. It is also pertinent to remember that despite the ban, Hindus had proceeded to stormed inside and offered the Puja at the lake.

just like the land acquisition bill was a deviously planned and well implanted landmine left behind by the eyetalian NAC led BIF to damage the NDA's ability to industrialize rapidly, so is the NGT with it's almost unbridled powers under a head who has little knowledge of the environment and usually tends to be a ideology driven personage with very strong left of center political leanings.

why don't we have any sort of eminent domain clause to acquire land for public projects/public good in a speedy and efficient manner.

this is how it plays out in the US, for eg.
Property taken by eminent domain may be for government use or by delegation to third parties, who will devote it to public or civic use or, in some cases, to economic development. The most common uses are for government buildings and other facilities, public utilities, highways and railroads.
we seem to have a plethora of ancient colonial era laws that complicate such land acquisitions. It makes procurement of land for industries extremely difficult to implement.

from wiki
Laws that govern land acquisition include the Indian Tramways Act, 1886, the Damodar Valley Corporation Act, 1948, the National Highways Act, 1956, the Coal Bearing Areas Acquisition and Development Act, 1957, the Petroleum and Minerals Pipelines (Acquisition of Right of User of Land) Act, 1962, The Land Ports Authority of India Act, 2010, the Metro Railways (Construction of Works) Act, 1978, the Railways Act, 1989[2][3] and the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (LARR) and which came into force from 1 January 2014.[4] Until 2013, the Land Acquisition Act of 1894 governed land acquisition in India. On 31 December 2013, the President of India promulgated an ordinance with an official mandate to "meet the twin objectives of farmer welfare; along with expeditiously meeting the strategic and developmental needs of the country". An amendment bill was then introduced in Parliament to endorse the Ordinance. Lok Sabha passed the bill, which awaits passage by the Rajya Sabha. On 30 May 2015, President of India promulgated the amendment ordinance for third time.[5][6][7][8][9] Union Government of India has also made and notified the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Social Impact Assessment and Consent) Rules, 2014 under the Act to regulate the procedure.[10] The land acquisition in Jammu and Kashmir is governed by the Jammu and Kashmir Land Acquisition Act, 1934

Why don't have better people in these agencies? 6 years is too long. Get these BIF forces out. Is this a life time appointment? Why can't we give them some real work?

Identify the number of trees required to bring down and CO2 and plant them, monitor them for 5 years and show the result? What stops them?

What issues would have come up if NGT was eliminated in 2014? Would there have been interference from judiciary? Or is the plan to get public aware of various plans of BIF by exposing NGT like organizations?

Not only leftist leanings, but I read an article about the composition of NGT and how members are selected - I was horrified at the backward linkages this body has with foreign funded NGOs. Once you realize that its strings are being pulled by the church underworld, you can make sense of how NGT is putting restrictions on every Hindu tradition, from cremations to chanting of mantras at Amarnath to banning firecrackers to fining Sri Sri Rs 5 crores for holding an event next to the Yamuna river in Delhi. (It was hilarious the kind of excuses NGT jokers came up with when SC questioned them about how they arrived at the Rs 5 crore figure for the fine. They were just babbling and had nowhere to hide, with excuses like "I was running a fever so could not read the file so have no idea. It was apparent that they were just punishing Hindu saints at a signal from someone.)

Modi needs to disband this Sonia-created BIF institution ASAP - don't know what he is waiting for.

PM Modi spells out the offensive-defensive doctrine for India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s friends and detractors know that there is nothing casual about the man from Gujarat. He practises his speeches, measures his words and then articulates the message for maximum impact. Addressing the tri-services at historic Longewala, where a Punjab regiment company and Air Force Hunters destroyed 40 Pakistani tanks in 1971 conflict, Modi spelt out the Indian war strategy and it was certainly not pacifist. He said that India is willing to understand or make the adversary understand but there will be fiery retaliation if the enemy tries to test its military might. Simply put, India is not seeking confrontation but will stand its ground in case it is confronted. In Modi’s speech there was a message for both domestic and international audience.
That Modi was not war mongering and meant business is will known to Pakistan during the Balakot Strike on February 26, 2019. After Pakistani propaganda started posting pictures of a captured and bleeding Wing Commander Abhinandan, Modi let it be known to Islamabad through then ISI chief that India will launch a missile strike if any harm came to the Indian Air Force pilots. He conveyed through interlocutors that “humne Diwali ke patake nahin rakh rakhe (we have not kept Diwali crackers in our arsenal)” and asked the Indian Prithvi Missiles to be deployed in the same Rajasthan sector. Such was the impact of the message that the MiG-21 Indian pilot was set free by the Pakistan government the very next day.
Without naming China, PM Modi took on the expansionist policies of the present Chinese regime by saying that it was a product of 18th century twisted mindset and that India would firmly oppose it. By saying this the PM countered the Chinese description of rapidly emerging QUAD, with US, Japan and Australia as other members, as a product of Cold War mindset.

At Longewala, he again reiterated the Indian resolve to take the battle to the enemy or extinguish the threat to India at the source. Clearly, this is the new offensive-defensive doctrine of India, which coupled with building of airborne and expeditionary force projection capability, will ensure that future battles are not fought on Indian soil.
Prime Minister Modi’s statement should not be seen in isolation but in context of what his Cabinet minister ranked National Security Advisor Ajit Doval said on banks of River Ganga at Rishikesh on October 22 and what External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said at the East Asia Summit on Diwali. The message from both was not sugar coated but expression of what India expects from the neighbours in terms of cross-border terrorism and freedom to navigate the South China sea and resist any attempts to make it into Chinese pond. Without seeking any acrimony or confrontation with Beijing, what Jaishankar conveyed on Saturday was a reiteration of PM Modi’s conversation with the then Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during the first summit meeting in 2014. At that time, it alarmed the Indian mandarins but Modi did not flinch from what he had to convey. It is another matter, that Jaishankar was among the more moderate voices on South China Sea at the East Asia Summit.
While India and China are on track to disengage and de-escalate from East Ladakh to mutual satisfaction, India is neither over-negotiating with PLA to bring the Depsang bulge issue into the current resolution nor is it willing to cede an inch of territory from the friction points at Galwan, Gogra-Hot Springs and finger 4 spur on the north banks of the Pangong Tso. Under Modi, India has decided to call a spade a spade by building a pro-India lobby in the world and is prepared to defend its own interests by choosing its friends and degrading its enemies.

the BH govt formation is slowly becoming a messy affair.

nitishwa is insistent in asking for the speaker's post as well. no end to his greed for power.

the BJP needs it and jiten manghi is making a strong bid for it as well.

if push comes to shove, the speaker's post could really turn out to be a very very lucrative one for any non JDU/BJP aspirant.

the minute sushil modi is made deputy CM, the BJP will be forced on the back foot with very little say in most matters. sushil modi is nitishwa's most reliable source into the inner workings of the BJP as well as his staunch supporter. It's a host parasite relationship between the two with sushil modi being the parasite and has been so for many of the CM terms of nitishwa.

sushil modi on his own is mostly a nonentity and a political lightweight

the sustained popularity of republic tv channels is undisputed and unrivaled in the annals of the tv broadcasting industry in India.

no wonder the nether regions of so many of their industry rivals are itching badly and their collective urge to shut down republic tv channels using the politicos fear of being exposed to do their mercenary hitman jobs.

the consortium of puri bhaji/vada pav/onion merchant/dynastic media owners are leading the covert onslaught while pulling strings in the background.

the TRP fiasco is a well thought out and purposely raked up issue, designed to hobble republic tv channels financially by scaring away their advertisers.

and yet, the powers that be cannot/will not protect an asset with such an unprecedented and unsurpassed reach, and nor are they even capable of ever setting up such an organization on their own.

all other parties/tv channels have no problems in being partisan in their support and displaying open patronage of media/ideology, while our guys are forever playing coy like a sly, much married bride on her wedding night with her third husband. There is something known as being too foxy for one's own good.

Two dipty CMs from BJP in Bihar...S Modi to step down....both are new faces from the cadre....impressive party organization and decision making process.

In another development, Ahmed Patel almost belly up from COVID. If this fellow does end up doing an early check out, will it open a pandoras box of investigations or will his secrets simply disappear with him? It would sure weaken the congis ability to operate...this guy is supposed to be their behind the scenes troubleshooter.

very good.

It means that nitishwa is probably getting the speaker's chair and his control is also weakening because he could not prevail in the matter of sushil modi.

let's hope that manghi prevails and gets the speaker's chair instead.

time to cut this political opportunist nitishwa down to size.

and sushil modi has sensed the way the wind is blowing in BH and doesn't seem too happy at the way things are playing out for him

BJP should be thinking about grooming a Leader who can lead the party in future in the state, someone in the caliber of Fadnavis or Yogi. Not sure if they have someone like that. They should select someone like that for the role of Dy CM. He can gain the experience in the next 4 years and when the time comes he can take over. May not be as easy as that but I feel it should be in that direction the BJP should move.

I guess they are trying that with the 2 new DyCMs. How do you know they are not of the desired caliber. Few had heard of Farnavis before MH 2014.
