consultant simply means contractual employee. any non permanent employee is a consultant. for retired employees they get same as their last salaries minus the pension and usually the same job they were doing before retirement. but no other benefits, including leave etc.
in sarkari circles becoming a 'consultant' after retirement is also known as 'getting a MNREGA'.

I guess they are trying that with the 2 new DyCMs. How do you know they are not of the desired caliber. Few had heard of Farnavis before MH 2014.
Maybe we do not, but I guess someone in the BJP or the RSS knew about his potential so they chose him. I was hoping they would do the same here too, also he would have the advantage of being in the power to hone his skills, which Fadnavis did not have.

nitishwa is insistent in asking for the speaker's post as well. no end to his greed for power.

the BJP needs it and jiten manghi is making a strong bid for it as well.

if push comes to shove, the speaker's post could really turn out to be a very very lucrative one for any non JDU/BJP aspirant.

the minute sushil modi is made deputy CM, the BJP will be forced on the back foot with very little say in most matters. sushil modi is nitishwa's most reliable source into the inner workings of the BJP as well as his staunch supporter. It's a host parasite relationship between the two with sushil modi being the parasite and has been so for many of the CM terms of nitishwa.

sushil modi on his own is mostly a nonentity and a political lightweight
Chota Modi (Sushil Modi, as he is known) will be given different responsibilities, - perhaps he will be given some central role.
In his place, Katihar's four-time BJP MLA Tarkishore Prasad has been asked to get ready to play a major role (perhaps, Dy-CM). Also, he is
from Seemanchal - an extremely important area to keep a tab on Owaisi, and the upcoming Bengal election. Katihar district shares border with sensitive Maldah and South Dinajpur district of North Bengal. This will help BJP in North Bengal to checkmate Mumtaz Banoo.

The GFRs are pretty clear on differentiation between Consultancy and Non-Consultancy services. This is a clear violation.

Satish Taseer cannot really be denied a tourist visa if he wants it. It is another matter that in these Covid times neither the inclination nor the means to travel is that great. But OCI is something else. Now if the OCI card is issued there would promptly be a PIL filed to embarrass the Government.

a visa can always be denied to an undesirable. The amerikis have denied plenty of visas to Indians on the flimsiest of reasons/grounds and never bothered with mundane things like explanations. It's high time that we paid them back in the same coin.

Any visa is always a privilege, and never a right.

and someone needs a stiff kick on her bony lootyens ass.

read any of her execrable, so called articles where she's always snootily talking down to the gawar plebeians

^^ Correct, Visa can be denied with no explanation required. Ask thousands of our IT folks who randomly have their visas denied with no explanation. Visa officer's decision is final in these matters. If they don't outright deny then they ask for additional documentation which takes forever.

That sentence is not accurate in any context involving a visa. The default position for any visa issuance is that you would be denied. It is up to the applicant to prove why they should not be denied. While this seems odd to those who may have had no trouble getting visas, this is exactly how visa issuance works - one starts from 'no' and offers enough reason to make it a yes.

A second factor here is prior history of immigration fraud. Fur purposes of argument I'll assume the best possible intentions on their part - oversight - and yet they're still wrong, because the only correct information for his father's nationality is 'Pakistani' . It does not matter if his parents are estranged or daddy's dead. His biological father had Pakistani nationality. That is factual information. The status of the relationship is an entirely personal matter. Having been appraised of the correct information, the Bureau of Immigration proceeded to invalidate his OCI since he is not eligible.

The problem is, he committed immigration fraud in the process. Now he can play innocent and argue he did not know. Prior recorded immigration fraud is a very good way to get a 5 or 10 year bar on any kind of visa, in most countries. Taseer is a UK national by birth. By UK law anyone who committed prior fraud cannot apply for immigration benefits for 10 years. He's a US national now, and the same applies in US law.

He also has a problem with whether or not he clearly explained the reasons for his OCI denial in his US naturalization application. There is a question there that asks if the applicant has previously ever been denied immigration benefits by any country. Unless he was entirely truthful, he has a problem with fraudulent US naturalization application. The harshest possible penalty here is denaturalization and deportation.

I'm not aware of any questions as to Aatish's paternity. Whether he had a real dad or nothing more than a sperm donor is irrelevant from the perspective of immigration authorities. He falsified paperwork, knowingly or otherwise. He had his OCI status revoked for that. He'll live with the consequences of that any time he has to apply for an Indian visa. Considering his revocation was recent, he's probably on a 10 year bar on application right now.

In many respects, modern-day India is counted as a success story, says Barack Obama

O heathens! Rejoice, for Massa has certified our blighted land as modern and successful :P
As the chief architect of India's economic transformation, (former) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seemed like a fitting emblem of this progress: a member of the tiny, often persecuted Sikh religious minority who had risen to the highest office in the land, and a self-effacing technocrat who had won people's trust not by appealing to their passions but by bringing about higher living standards and maintaining a well-earned reputation for not being corrupt, says Obama, who had visited India twice as president in 2010 and 2015.
Never mind the gigantic corruption the distinguished economist presided over for 10 years  If you can prove your secular credentials, liberals will forgive/overlook everything else

Did BHO write the highlighted part in his book or is this PTI's take on India? Often persecuted? How often? What persecutions did the Sikh face in free independent India? Persecution as in denial of voting rights, not allowed to practice their faith as they deem fit, stripped of their property rights, denied pursuit of educational and/or professional opportunities, hindered to run their religious institutions without outside/govt. interference, physical assaults/rapes/murders etc? What persecutions?!?

you need to make the distinction of holding twitter/facebook etc as a publisher has not yet been made in India and since this is not yet a law in India, it cannot be used as such before making such a law.

the liberandus/commies will scream bloody murder as another of their bastions comes under threat

Muslims and Christians have a habit of projecting their own behavior patterns on others -- as a strategy, both of these keep accusing infidels / heathens / polytheists of persecuting members of other faiths, when it is Islam and Christianity that have been persecuting non-believers on an industrial scale since the last 1,500 years, and such hatred of others is institutionalized in their scriptures and mandated by their God (which apparently is the only true one in the universe). It is a theatre of the absurd.

This is absolutely true. I was thinking about this myself a few days ago during a discussion. That is the reason why Muslims are absolutely terrified of India becoming a Hindu country, they think Hindus will treat Muslims just like Muslims treat Hindus in Muslim countries.
The other day a non Indian Muslim friend of mine was virtue signaling and I replied and he threw in his Brahmastra that Modi was a bigot. I replied that if Modi was a bigot, every Islamic country leader was 100 times more and it's become a way of life in those violent countries. He blew a gasket.

these facts are publicly known.

she has no argument that helps her case.

the deranged mother's argument is that she brought him up as a "single parent" and "everyone" knows about it so we should all accept her explanation without any silly questions about where the male chromosomes of her kid came from. Her own statements, made repeatedly over the years, proves beyond the shadow of any doubt that the kid's father is paki

she had her kid in the UK, the father additionally held UK citizenship in addition to being paki as well, so she was extremely calculating in and predatory in her approach and made use of every single loophole that she could use.

because of her scofflaw lootyens connections, she wrangled her kid an OCI card and until one fine day when least expected, karma kicks in and brings the house of cards down.

but in her entitlement addled and outraged mind, she justifies her every illegal act and sets about contacting various "central ministers" directly to get the decision reversed. Having failed, she attacks Modi and AS in the press thinking they will relent immediately and issue the OCI rather than tangle with a "powerful" card carrying lootyens personality like herself aided by presstitutes and various jobless commies.

unfortunately for her and the entrenched lootyens eco system, knickerwallahs are made of much sterner stuff, as she eventually discovers, much to her vocal and angry frustration.

I'm familiar with Tavleen Singh's argument that the rules don't apply to her because she raised him as a single mother. I've read her laughably entitled whines on this matter. My giving them the benefit of doubt is simply a rhetorical construct - that the fault is just as clear even if it was not intentional, i.e. "ignorance of the law is not an excuse". That is why I emphasized in the previous post that the nature of their relationship is a personal matter, but the actual paternal citizenship information is factual matter, and the immigration law only cares about the facts.

Twitter Suspends True Indology Again Amid Spat With D Roopa; #BringBackTrueIndology Trends
Last Updated: 18th November, 2020 11:28 IST
Written By Digital Desk

Twitter account True Indology was suspended by Twitter after it got into an argument with IPS Officer D Roopa over ban on firecrackers across parts of India.
Popular Twitter account True Indology was suspended by Twitter hours after it got into an argument with IPS Officer D Roopa over the ban on firecrackers by several states. However, the exact reason for the suspension of the account is not yet. The two were having a long argument over whether crackers found a place in Indian scriptures. Several Twitter users have claimed that the True Indology account "just stated facts" and "gave evidence" to prove his point during the argument without "offending or hurting" anyone.

Several popular figures have come out in support of the account and have demanded Jack Dorsey-led Twitter restore it. Such is the support that #BringBackTrueIndology is the number one trend on the micro-blogging site at the time of publishing this article. This is not the first time that True Indology has faced action, as many on the Internet have pointed out.

War of words between D Roopa IPS and Twitter user True Indology over firecrackers
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2020 - 11:18 TNM Staff Follow @thenewsminute

The tussle that began with D Roopa questioning the need for bursting firecrackers on Deepavali ended in True Indology’s account getting suspended.

A war of words broke out on social media between IPS officer D Roopa and a Twitter user who goes by the name ‘True Indology’ over whether firecrackers are Indian or not. The tussle that began with D Roopa questioning the need for bursting firecrackers on Deepavali has ended in the suspension of True Indology’s account, which has irked right-wing Twitter. However, it is not clear why the account, a staunch Hindutva proponent, has been suspended and based on whose complaint.

Government issues notice to Twitter for showing Leh in Jammu and Kashmir, warns of legal action
NEW DELHI: The government has issued a notice to Twitter for showing Leh as part of Jammu and Kashmir instead of the Union Territory of Ladakh, according to IT ministry sources.
The ministry, in its notice, has directed Twitter to explain within five working days why legal action should not be initiated against the micro-blogging platform and its representatives for disrespecting the territorial integrity of India by showing an incorrect map.
The notice was issued to Twitter by the Ministry of Electronics and IT on November 9, the sources said.
Five working days have long passed and no action seems to have been taken or maybe Ministry is satisfied with Twitter's reply.

Remember, D Roopa is one of those very few IPS officers who can be considered as having an awareness to nationalist/dharmic causes and this was her reaction when someone dared disagree with her. Now imagine the other 99% of IAS/IPS officers who have no understanding or interest in history, religion, patriotism, right Vs wrong but treat common citizens like serfs, how they crush those who dare stand up to them everyday. If the home ministry was helpless against someone like Param Bir then there's a fat chance of them doing anything about a regular twitter tussle. We need an Indian version of Parler but then again as long as they are operating in India i doubt if they'll be able to escape the clutches of our modern day sultans and sultanas.

Twitter has apologised in writing for 'Ladakh in China' error: Parliament panel chairperson Lekhi
New Delhi: Social media giant Twitter has apologised in writing to a key parliamentary panel for wrongly showing Ladakh in China and has promised to correct the error by the month-end, the committee's chairperson Meenakshi Lekhi said on Wednesday.

Twitter's deposition has come in form of an affidavit signed by Damien Karien, Chief Privacy Officer of Twitter Inc, for wrong geo-tagging of India's map, Lekhi told .
Last month, the Joint Committee of Parliament on Data Protection Bill had come down heavily on Twitter for showing Ladakh as part of China, saying it amounted to treason and had sought an explanation by the US-based parent of the social media platform in form of an affidavit.

Appearing before the panel, chaired by Lekhi, representatives of Twitter India had "begged apology" :(( , but they were told by the members that it was a criminal offence that questioned the sovereignty of the country and an affidavit must be submitted by Twitter Inc, not by its 'marketing arm' Twitter India.

"Twitter has now given us a written apology on an affidavit for Ladakh being shown in China," Lekhi said.

"They have apologised for hurting Indian sentiments and have sworn to correct the error by November 30, 2020," she added.
