Are you saying that these appointments is a reflection of strength and/or influence of China on the Manchurian candidate? Not sure if these Disney alumni appointments has anything to do with that. Disney has made ton of investment in China and they do not want to see it go. From Disney theme parks to English medium schools....

Disney English announced that it will be closing its 26 centres in China after 12 years of operating in the country

we made it easy by handling over the keys of the Star network

Star India was owned by Fox entertainment which was taken over by Disney. I thought at one time they owned NDTV as well. Hotstar streaming is owned by Fox now Disney.

Before her presidential run she was a self professed black baptist.

During the run she ate ate some idli and dosa.

During the victory speech she was introduced as a South Asia. Why was she introduced as South Asian instead of an Indian-American? Think.

When did she become an Indian hanji? There are enough goras ow also like idli and dosa. That is not emotional connect.

Joe Biden Refers To Kamala Harris As 'South Asian', Not Indian
Race categorisations recognised by the US government do not include "South Asian", while Asian Indian is listed officially for people of Indian descent.

People of Indian descent also officially come under the broad category of Asians that includes people from across the continent, but there is no "South Asian".

.....
South Asian in common and academic use includes Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Sri Lankans, Maldivians, Bhutanese and Nepalese, and it is preferred by some "progressive" Indians in the US who seek an identity that they see as more inclusive than Indian and perhaps more "politically correct".
Yes yes ... calling oneself an Indian or an Indian-American is NOT political correct!

Most American papers talk of her as South Asian. Beepul are free to believe whatever they want but this is reality. Beepul are getting emotional not Kamala Harris. She knows he stuff.

If it is (supposedly) fair to refer to anything positive from India (not specifically referring to Harris here), and anything negative from India's neighborhood, as "South Asian," then it should also be fair to refer to the moon landings as a "North American" achievement, and to congratulate the Cubans, Jamaicans, Mexicans, and St. Lucians for it. Because nobody can deny that the astronauts who landed on the moon were North American. The pictures of poverty in Haiti shown during earthquakes or hurricanes should also be labeled as failings of North America.

This will definitely become a positive impact of the Biden presidency on India, if this "S. Asian" term goes full mainstream (which it seems to be doing - I think getting it in the open is a good thing), and if Indians start questioning why terms like "N. American" should not be equally well applied to the neighborhood of the USA.

Biden Is Expected to Expand U.S.-India Relations While Stressing Human Rights

Most experts agree that China will be the driving force behind how India’s relationship with Washington changes in a Biden administration.

Seven US lawmakers write to Pompeo on farmer's protests in India

There may be a chance to ask for aid for Punjab farmers in the US stimulus bill that will be voted on Monday. Perhaps $25 million can be added on to help support housing and Covid-19 supplies for the protestors.

If Pakistan can receive $10 million for gender studies then why not $1 billion to help farmers of India. Use that money to improve technology and reduce environmental degradation caused by unscientific methods.

This is pocket change, US, Canada and UK must guarantee to purchase USD 100 Billion from Indian farmers at 5X international price for 5 years through GOI Mandis, it will help in Indian farmer Incomes.

House passes bill to increase stimulus checks to $2,000

US House passed a bill to provide more aid to poor people. However, there was no additional money included for Sikh Americans or Indian farmers, despite all the protests.

Biden presidency impacts will be amplified now that the senate looks likely to be gadha majority. Ossoff and Warnock look like they will make it, unless there is a surprise awaiting in the morning.

People seem truly sick and tired of Trump's erratic policies over the last year. There is none else than Modi in the world today who can set a large country straight and carry massive popularity. You can't do that by just being a regular old poltoo or an angry old codger.

From my perspective, it's time for USA to steady its ship on science policy, H-1B visas, and climate change action. All these will be good for India.
