China and Pakistan are embroiled in their most serious disagreement relating to the Belt and Road Initiative, causing the annual bilateral summit of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to be delayed.
The BRI itself is in serious financial trouble. FT recently published a report based on research by Boston Univ that points to serious decline in funding in BRI initiatives by the Chinese banks.

https://www.ft.com/content/1cb3e33b-e2c ... fffffa4259
Lending by the China Development Bank and the Export-Import Bank of China collapsed from a peak of $75bn in 2016 to just $4bn last year, according to data compiled by researchers at Boston University and seen by the Financial Times.
Chinese government want state banks to move out of the funding and let corporations and companies fund the projects directly. Chinese corporation are dependent on state policy support (labor, land, climate etc.) for success of their business models. They can't be successful outside Pakistan on their own.

I was showing my son a documentary on BRI. Chinese government is trying to provide a policy climate and land (call it SEZ) to Chinese private companies to move their manufacturing out of China to cheaper foreign countries. They are trying to replicate model of the western companies who moved their manufacturing to China. In theory the case is compelling. Take an example of a garment plant in Mogadishu. The salary of garment worker is 1/10 of the garment worker in China ($56/month vs ~$500/month). China has deployed it own supervisors to hackle the garment workers for same quality and productivity that Chinese workers have attained after years of working with no rights to complain. These supervisors live in the plant in 3 to one dormitories and are paid $2800/month with 15 days off in a year.

But practical success depends on favorable labor laws and enforcement of these laws with zero tolerance. Chinese are realizing that their companies would need a mini china outside china to be successful. The cost difference is simply not enough even if the initial capital is provided by Chinese banks at very affordable rates and terms.

This brings us to the SEZ's that Chinese want to develop in Pakistan..these would be the mini-china with fencing and its own labor laws that are enforced by Paki military and establishment.

So, these t*rds are scrounging around for USD1.5m to pay for vaccine doses :P For decades, they managed to get fighter jets, submarines, tanks, nukes etc on the cheap. Now, they have p*ssed off every benefactor with their roguery, shenanigans and skullduggery and can't afford to put down USD1.5m for vaccine? BTW, what happened to China, Turkey, Malaysia? None of them want to donate USD1.5m and bail out a birather mulk? Or, are these nations meant to stave off FATF and no more?

the shameless paki "awam" is lusting after India's covid vaccines and they want it supplied free of cost to them on "humanitarian" grounds.

looks like this may well be a taqiya ploy by the paki deep state and media to get India's sickulars and kandle kissers to take up the paki cause and shame the GoI into rushing "free" vaccines to that benighted country.

no difference at all between the paki awam, their political parties, their jehadi leaders and the fundoo India hating paki army.

It is the very same sick and nauseating, taqiya pasand awam that provides the cannon fodder talibanis and sources the jehadis that fill the paki army and flood their political parties and every paki election is won on the standard desert cult issued anti India ghazi rhetoric.

It is also very true that the "establishment" pakis fear Modi.

BSF unearths tunnel used by Pak to send in terrorists to India
The 39-metre-deep tunnel was detected between Border Post number 14 and 15 near BSF’s outpost at Pansar, Kathua district. On the other side of the fence are Pakistani border outposts of Abhiyal Dogra and Kingre-de-Kothe in Shakargarh district.
By Shishir Gupta, JAN 24, 2021

The Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday found a 150-metre-long underground tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir that had been used by Pakistani intelligence to infiltrate terrorists into India. It is the second tunnel to be discovered in 10 days by the force that last year went on a campaign mode to detect and destroy a web of tunnels believed to have been built by Pakistan’s deep state, a senior BSF official said on Saturday.
Shakargarh, the area across the fence, is home to a terror training facility overseen by one of Jaish-e-Mohammed’s operational commanders, Kasim Jan, who, Indian intelligence believes, was involved in the November 19 Nagrota encounter in Jammu and is the principal accused in the 2016 Pathankot airbase attack. Jan is also one of the main launch commanders of the Jaish terrorists into India.

If you look at the map, we need to posses the Shakargarh Bulge, poonch Bulge and Neelam Valley and then Baltistan, I hope we have detailed plans, to first incapacitate Pakis and then quickly take over these areas. Meanwhile we must work more and more Pakis emigrate and the Sialkot area population under control. Along with this we must work for a free Baluchistan.

Kudos to the braveheart who came up with this passage:
Project Azm
On 7 July 2017 the Pakistan Air Force announced the development of a fifth-generation fighter jet technology's, a stealth medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle (MALE UAV) and munitions and a smart longer range surface to air missile systems SAM missile systems under the banner of Project Azm. Pakistani public and private sectors are jointly working on the development of Next generation stealth fighter aircraft (PAC PF-X) whose first flight is expected in 2030, moreover work has also begun for the development of stealth MALE-UCAV ZF-1 Viper. The information about this Multirole Stealth drone was first revealed at International Defence Exhibition and Seminar held at Karachi, this UAV will have both air-to-air and air-to-surface laser weapon capabilities, it will have a maximum takeoff weigh of 16000tons and a flight ceiling of 915000km and its speed will be Mach 80. Certain rumours were being spread that China might be helping Pakistan in this project, but Pakistan's Air Marshal Shahid Latif (retired), who played a key role in the development of PAC JF-17 Thunder, nullified the rumours by saying "CKMKB" and that although they still have an option to go for joint collaboration with China, but PAF had gained as much experience and knowledge after the successful development of PAC JF-17 Thunder that PAC engineers are experienced enough to begin development of a next generation fighter on their own.[19][20][21][22][23] Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman stated that the design phase for the MALE UAV was in its final stages. The CAS had also revealed the current Air Staff Requirements (ASR) of the FGFA, i.e., a “twin-engine single-seater, boasting the likes of super-cruise and laser weapons (directed energy weapons). Thus, the FGFA is not only an indigenous clean-sheet design, but currently slated as a medium-to-heavyweight, high-performance jet.[19][23] Pakistan Air Force showcased the conceptual design of a future stealth aircraft on the tail of the PAF C-130 at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2019. However, there's no official statement regarding this by PAF.[24]

As per the yearbook of the Pakistan Ministry of Defence Production (MoDP) for the year 2017-2018, the Aviation Research, Innovation and Development (AvRID) Secretariat has finalized the first of the four conceptual design stage cycles for the development of the Pakistan Air Force’s Fifth-Generation Fighter Aircraft (FGFA) program.[24]

The hans are doing sinovac vaccine trials in the countries where they have "given" their useless sinovac vaccine and are demanding that those countries all share the cost of doing the vaccine trials, which by itself is another chinese scam in the making.

they are getting into written agreements with such countries regarding the "costing" of the trials.

the beedis have flatly refused the chinese "offer" and the hans are very upset with Modi/India for gifting free vaccines to all the India neighboring countries as well as many others as it has caused many countries to opt for India made covid vaccines thus hurting the "anticipated" sinovac market

the pakis being excluded from the gifting of free vaccines from India has caused a huge heartburn among the paki middle classes who are angry that Indian "politics" has come in the way of paki "humanity" and their national islamic entitlement to recieve free stuff from everywhere and everyone with due respect, consideration and admiration for their "atmi takath".

watching Hajam sethi's show there is no plan for vaccination in Pakistan. he predicts there will be black market sale of western vaccines for 1 - 2 lakh pers dose. so a paki elite will have to shell out a total of 8 - 16 lakhs for the family. for the rest the govt is thinking if its even worth to vaccinate as they are still struggling with polio vaccination.

i would expect Indian track 2 folks to start singing abt humanity and to give the vaccine to Pakistan but some of them like karan thapar do not belive in modi's vaccine to begin with. so a catch 22

Paks local importers have relationship with SIL in normal times. In fact paks are one of the biggest importers of Indian drugs.

Imm the dim doesnt want to openly order from India. So they have approved and asked AZ to supply it. The local importer will probably say AZ is getting it from India, we cannot do much about it.

Goi will not stop the export. But I do hope SII quotes a high price..

Evidence suggests ex-ISI chief Asad Durrani remained in contact with RAW, Ministry of Defence tells court
The Ministry of Defence has submitted a written response to a petition filed by former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief retired Lt Gen Asad Durrani at the Islamabad High Court, urging the court not to remove his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
According to a copy of the response seen by Geo News, the ministry has told the court that it has evidence which suggests Durrani remained in contact with Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
The defence ministry also said that it has evidence which suggests Durrani has been in contact with anti-state elements from other countries since 2008.
The former ISI chief has moved the high court to seek the removal of his name from the no-fly list, stating that he wants to go abroad.
Durrani's name was included in the ECL in 2019 following the Ministry of Defence's recommendation, sources said. They told Geo News that court proceedings for the petition filed by the former ISI chief will commence from the second week of February.

Pakistan Army is now an echo chamber — look at what it did to ex-ISI chief Asad Durrani
The ex-ISI chief was punished not for disclosing any secret, but for analysing the tantalising event of the 2011 American operation in Abbottabad to kill Osama bin Laden.
Ayesha Siddiqa, 15 December, 2020

When Field Marshal Sir Claude John Eyre Auchinleck returned to India in 1943 as the commander-in-chief of the military, one of his goals was to ‘Indianise’ the force while ensuring high levels of professionalism. Though the demands of performing in the Second World War obfuscated his plans to move away from limiting recruitment to the ‘martial races’, he developed a culture of professionalism that made it imperative for the armed forces to analyse every operation, including failures, for future benefit.
Reading the recently published opinion article by the former head of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lt. General (retd) Asad Durrani, it seems that Pakistan’s military has deviated from the culture of questioning its actions and carrying out analysis. General Headquarters of Pakistan Army in Rawalpindi is no longer interested in critical evaluation even if it is from one of its own. The current leadership has reached the new milestone of tightly locking itself up in an echo chamber and not tolerating dissent. A senior retired officer like Durrani fears for his life and has been constrained from traveling to meet family. This is in addition to him being hauled up in front of an inquisition regarding his books, especially Spy Chronicles, which he co-authored with the former chief of India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), A.S. Dulat, and his pension being stopped for a while.
Durrani’s punishment
Durrani was punished not for disclosing any secret, but for analysing the tantalising event of the 2011 American operation in Abbottabad to kill al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. The general retired in 1993, which means he wasn’t privy to any secret, but could still analyse based on his knowledge of his institution. Perhaps due to his pride in the military, he could not believe that the Pakistan Army could be caught with its pants down. And so, he claimed in an interview to Al Jazeera that the top generals negotiated the Osama bin Laden operation with the Americans. While the interview was ignored, Durrani repeating this claim in the book angered army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, who was totally sidetracked by his political ego. Durrani’s theory about the Abbottabad operation took attention away from what the army chief was trying to do – tell the world that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had hurt national interests by disclosing to the newspaper Dawn that the world was concerned about Pakistan’s involvement with militant groups and extremism.
The jury on how much the army top brass knew about the American operation is still out. In his recently published book The Promised Land, former US President Barack Obama claims that it was a secret kept from Pakistan because some of its intelligence personnel were deeply connected with the Taliban and al-Qaeda. Former army chief General Ashfaq Kayani seems to have only demanded that Washington come clean about the operation after it was all done. None of this means that the generals at the helm of the Pakistan Army did or did not have more details. We will probably have to wait many more years when American records get declassified to get a clearer picture. Durrani, and many other officers like him, might eventually get disappointed as they realise that the military high command continued to sleep during the operation, as they did during the outbreak of the 1965 war with India.

Armed tribesmen attack hospital, bakery in Sukkur, Sindh
https://www.dawn.com/news/1604523
SUKKUR: Over 20 armed men of Marri tribe attacked Hafiz Bilawal Hospital, at a short distance from Tangwani police station, with automatic rifles and iron rods on Saturday apparently over their ongoing dispute with rival Khoso tribe. The attackers opened indiscriminate fire on the hospital before barging into the building and ransacking the hospital and an adjacent bakery. Two persons identified as Sher Khan Khoso, the hospital owner, and Illahi Bux Khoso suffered wounds in the firing.

The tribesmen escaped while firing in the air after the attack. Immediately afterwards, police reached there, gathered details about the incident and went after the attackers. The town’s residents as well as political and civil society leaders visited the hospital and expressed solidarity with Sher Khan, who told reporters that the attackers might be members of an extortionist gang who had been demanding protection money for quite some time. When he refused to bow to them they attacked his hospital and bakery and also opened fire on him, he said.

Meanwhile, Tangwani SHO led more than 10 police mobile vans to Marris’ village near the town and picked up 10 men after cordoning off their houses. However, no case of the attack was registered at the police station.
