Never really said the entire sikh population is part of the agitation? I'm merely against the appeasement, stop putting words in my mouth.

Or is that you want everyone to dis the sikhs so you can play your "not all sikhs" trope and pretend to be the saviour of the martial race?

Indore: Young woman accuses parents, 7 others of forcing her to convert to Christianity, accused arrested
https://www.opindia.com/2021/01/indore- ... il-police/
A woman belonging to Gujarkheda village in Indore, Madhya Pradesh accused nine people including her parents for forcing her to convert to Christianity on January 26. The woman, identified as Shalini Kaushal, filed a complaint regarding her allegations at the Bhanwarkuan police station on Republic Day. In her complaint, alleged that on the said day her parents took her to an alleged conversion event at a Christian Community Hall named Satyaprakashan Sanchar Kendra on the pretext of visiting her grandmother’s house.
...
According to reports, Kaushal alleged that she was made to attend the ceremony at the Kendra where people forced her to convert to Christianity. “They told me now I am under the guidance of Lord Jesus and that all my problems will be resolved”, the woman alleged. She reportedly said that there were several Hindus there who were forced to convert. She named her parents, Rakesh Kaushal and Rani Kaushal, and seven others including Ganesh Ninami, Lavina Hatesingh, and Jitendra Meda for trying to forcefully convert her.

The victim said that these people told her that people went to the place out of their own will but were not allowed to leave on their own. “At the event, they kept saying God will help you. Some women beat me up when I tried to leave. They were forcing people to adopt Christianity. I am a Hindu by religion but my parents and others were forcing me to convert”, she said in her complaint.

True but sooner or later they will struggle to sustain that level of funding. Blowing close to Rs 1000 crore a month will sooner or later become a logistical problem not to mention the leakages . This is why in the later days of shaheenbagh it was just 200 Rs to 300 Rs per dadi and less than 200 of them were squatting under the tents, the dafli wala gang and swara bhaskar kinda people would stop by once in a while to rally the troops. With close to 1 lakh people already on the border, using force to remove them is no longer an option. The missed opportunity was the 12 hour window the government had after the red fort incident to clear the borders with force, now they'll just have to wait out longer.

There is a lot of traction for fundraisers this weekend by Khalistani sympathisers in the US, Canada, and the UK. Wonder of ED, DRI, and other agencies have the slightest clue who is on the receiving end.

Definitely. The Indian government and embassies in various countries, should have a list of Sikhs/Khalistanis that are banned for life( or at least 30 years) from ever entering India. After 1984, it was hard not to notice that visas and permission to enter India, was denied or heavily delayed, for large numbers of Sikhs in Canada. Of course, innocent or harmless Sikhs will unfortunately be caught up in this restriction, but that's a price that must be paid. It would be interesting to know the kind of numbers of people, that are banned from going to India. It should be in the thousands.

^ Most Khalistanis don't have OCI's. You might note that NDA 1.0 removed the black list in an attempt to offer an olive branch in 2017/18. Communication/funding takes place through proxies, the more this drags on, and IF GOI does pursue down the track of declaring them as terrorist organisations, there may be some grounds to ask host governments to ban those outfits. So far there is political support that provides some sort of immunity.

After vandalizing Indian consulates in Britain and Italy, and spray painting MKG's statue in Washington, DC, in Khalistan's west coast capital of California, they recently destroyed MKG's statue in the city of Davis, CA. Joining the rabble rousing khalistanis were few members of confused american commies. And the reason for destroying Gandhiji's statue ? As per the ultra secular Khalistanis, Gandhiji was a racist with a "complex history", the simple reason ofcourse is Gandhiji represents India, so anything representing India needs to be destroyed. I couldn't help but smile at the irony of the situation and dumbness of some marxist gathered there wondering don't they see these Khalistanis want to destroy a secular democracy and establish a theocratic state solely based on their religion's supremacy ? Then again the history of left is such that it is a willing partner of anyone who wants to destroy societies, cultures, nations, civilizations, so if they can tie up with radical islamists in Europe why shouldn't they tie up with radical Khalistanis in the US ?

Btw, someday this agitation too will see a sunset, the money will dry up, people will have to go back and do few honest days work to earn a livelihood . Rakesh and Naresh Tikait too will go back to being what they are, just local khap panchayat leaders of few districts in western UP , and someone who despite 50 yrs of political history struggles to win 10,000 votes. They are today being trumped up as the new "revolutionary leaders" , they are neither new nor revolutionary. Besides, after the opposition parties are done fawning upon these thugs, they too will go back and strategize on how to clip the wings of these two brothers before the next elections. Remember, Mulayam Singh Yadav hated the guts of Mahendra Tikait, and Mayawati had no love lose for neither Mahendra Tikait nor his two sons. Rakesh Tikair allegedly owns a Mahindra showroom in Amroha,UP, and fuel pumps in Muzzafarnagar and Amroha, and several real estate holdings, farms and brick kilns . They have no shortage of enemies, and even those parties that are tripping over each other to shake hands with the Tikait brothers will stab them in the back at the first opportunity.

Also, with Gujjars calling this as Jat agitation this has taken on a casteist turn. Had it not been the support of Khujli mian, protests would've died on 26th with water and power connection cut by UP government.

26 Bank Accounts of OM India & 6 other FCRA registered Christian NGOs frozen by Telangana CID
The Economic Offences Wing of the Telangana Crime Investigation Department has reportedly frozen 26 bank accounts that belong to Operation Mobilization Trust and its group of Christian Charity organizations on 21st November 2020 based on criminal complaints lodged by Mr. Albert Lael, former Chief Finance Officer of Operation Mobilization India group of charities.
Mr. Albert Lael, who is also the National director of 103 Good Shepherd Schools, has filed criminal complaints with the Criminal Investigation Department against Mr. Joseph D’Souza, his son Josh D’Souza and several others. Mr. Joseph D’Souza is the President of Christian evangelical organization, Operation Mobilization, and several other entities such as ‘Operation Mercy India Foundation’, Dignity Freedom Network (erstwhile Dalit Freedom Network), Good Shepherd Schools and All India Christian Council.
As per a post made on the Facebook page named “OM Justice Seekers”, the Crime Investigation Department, in their notice vide notice no. U/S 91 & 160 Cr.P.C, stated that during the course of an earlier ongoing investigation, the CID Police found that the accused persons have received huge amounts from abroad in the name of donations for running their charity activities, which are deposited into FDs. In order to stop this misappropriation of funds and other further diversion, the CID Police has frozen the 26 bank accounts of eight FCRA-registered Christian Organizations, including OM India.
Curiously, none of the big media houses showed interest in reporting the huge financial fraud connected with foreign funds of Christian evangelical organisations, even after the CID officially froze their accounts.

One of my college friends is active (leading) in these farmer protests in India. So talking to him and others and one general perception I got is they blame and hate Ambani and Adani to guts. There is/maybe no merit in it. But just to cut down that pretext and make them comfortable, do we not have any other businessmen to get involved? Why Ambani and Adani are getting involved in so many areas? Would it be wise for them and be successful in entering in so many things in a short span? Adani is into airports, solar power, agri business etc etc. It would be nice if they excuse themselves from this and give others chance. Isnt it?

Also why is BJP not able to gather farmers and take out huge rallies in support of their farm laws? End of the day only those who ask and demand will get.

ps: The friend is a IIT-Madras graduate left his US career and took up full time social activism

They are not really involved in farming any more or less than anybody else. Adani Wilmar group (Fortune oil etc) have been involved in food products since long before these laws. There is nothing specifically tying either group to the farm laws.

Anyway, this Adani Ambani thing in this context is just another slogan by Naxals and not a real thing. Just another bullshit made-up fake news for fear mongering and FUD. The target is not Ambani-Adani but Modi govt. This Adani-Ambani bogey keeps being raised in any and every context where commies want to attack the govt, not just farm laws.

Adani group has been in agro and agro logistics since late 90s, Reliance entered retail food industry in 2006-07 through their 'Reliance Fresh' shops. Please don't think this irrational hatred of communists and fulltime professional protestors towards couple of successful business families is new, in the 70s and 80s the sloganeering was against Tatas and Birlas, today it is Ambani and Adani, in 20 years time it will be someone else. No amount of explaining will help people with rigid prejudices , they have preconceived notion that big business is evil, all government policies are evil. They will squat on a national highway for 3 months but wont bother to read a 2 page long law and understand it.

Yes, in a country of 1.3 billion people we do need to introspect why do we have so few successful, multi-national corporations and business houses. The fault is in 70 years of anti-business laws and policies which punishes profit and success, and puts all sorts of barriers towards growth and expansion.

I dont think there is a more dangerous politician in India than Kejriwal and his ambitions:

https://indianexpress.com/article/citie ... s-7168147/
AAP national spokesperson Raghav Chadha alleged that several local BJP leaders and “miscreants backed by BJP-RSS” had threatened and attacked farmers at Ghazipur border and pelted stones on them at Singhu border.
“The continuous attacks on our ‘annadatas’ and the unfortunate incident that occurred at the Red Fort on January 26 has established the role of the BJP in suppressing the farmers’ movement. It has also proved the intention of the BJP, that they will attack the farmers, intimidate them and create disturbance in their movement. There is a clear safety and security threat to the farmers,” Chadha said.

even i have an IIT grad friend who shares these views. this thinking is a co - ordinated effort from DDM. adani-ambani are just a metaphor they may well be tata-birla. Its hard to convince these folks as they are ideologically opposed to Modi and nothing will convince them otherwise. ravish kumar types have either brainwashed them or they don't need much washing in the first place.

here is the irony. my friends dream is to build a startup that rivals the best. I asked him if he is willing to sell his startup at MSP rates? he says that is BS but farmers need to have MSP.

The govt's unprecedented restraint has been completely negated by the deliberate choice of a few unfortunate words and certain inimical forces will take heart from such syntactic legerdemain and the grammatically puritanical adherents of the language and those advocating a cautious temperance in public pronouncements may well take issue with it.

when sailing in choppy waters, as well as uncharted territory, diplomacy and deliberate restraint is of the utmost value.

CJI Bobde Terms Delhi Violence On Republic Day As 'Farmer's Visit', Centre Objects

The violent incidents across the capital including at the historic Red fort by the protesting farmers on the eve of Republic day was termed as ‘ farmers visit’ by Chief Justice (CJI) S A Bobde on Thursday, reports The Times of India.

Heading a three-judge Bench Chief Justice of India Sharad A Bobde said “Control over certain kinds of news which agitate people to violence and riots is a law and order problem. Preventing it is as powerful as putting up barricades. Preventing instigation is as important as providing lathis to policemen.”

Seeing no wrong in the government taking steps to stop telecast of offensive programs, the Supreme Court drew a parallel with suspension of internet services in the areas that witnessed violence and said “You (the government) stopped internet services (in several areas of Delhi) because of farmers’ visit.”

The Supreme Court terming the day long violence in the capital injuring many policemen and damaging public property as a ‘visit’ by farmers drew a sharp reaction from solicitor general Tushar Mehta, who said “That was anything but a visit to the capital.”

Immediately the CJI, who heads a bench that hears a bunch of petitions challenging the constitutional validity of three farm laws, said that the use of a non-controversial term by them was deliberate.

The Supreme Court also made some critical comments on the manner in which some journalists and media houses transmitted fake or unverified news that possibly worsened the law and order situation in the capital on Tuesday (26 January).

“These are problems which can arise anywhere. Point is that fair and truthful reporting is not a problem. But it is a problem when the news is projected in a manner to instigate. The pen in the hand of a free speech-armed journalist is like the lathi in the hand of a policeman. How they use their pen or lathi in a law and order situation is integral to maintenance of law and order. And that matters a lot,” the CJI said.

Adani is into airports, solar power, agri business etc etc. It would be nice if they excuse themselves from this and give others chance. Isnt it?

Also why is BJP not able to gather farmers and take out huge rallies in support of their farm laws? End of the day only those who ask and demand will get.

ps: The friend is a IIT-Madras graduate left his US career and took up full time social activism

even i have an IIT grad friend who shares these views. this thinking is a co - ordinated effort from DDM. adani-ambani are just a metaphor they may well be tata-birla.

Ask the IIT grads to first return the tax payers money for their subsidized education that they used up., before giving lectures on social activism., etc.

Tata is probably involved in several more businesses than reliance or Ambani.

Do the farm laws say that only Ambani and Adani will be in the marketplace?

Gents; what are your feelings on the farmer broker gang protests? To be frank, over the last two days I am not very happy to see how things are going. I was expecting things to be under control after Jan 26th, but looks like things are not going to end any time soon. Not even a single protest site has been cleared till date. Which means that any time hordes of farmer brokers can cause problems in NCR area. To add to the problem there is now also the Jatts & Khap Panchayath stuff getting involved in this. Both UP & Haryana state governments also seems to be now unable to control the situation. And Modi is again talking about communication lines being open etc. Though I agree that Modi (as PM) cannot openly recommend strong measures, I am unable to figure out why HA & UP state governments are now in a go-slow mode. Was in KL for two days, and the reports in main stream media was extremely unpleasent to read. It was kind of reading about 'French revolution' happening against the burgeoise with Modi being King Louis. If you read MSM; the 'revolution' is imminent and the farmers are now completely having the upper hand.
vimal wrote:Does anyone know what happened to all the tractors? They should’ve been confiscated and destroyed.
As per my understanding; tractors and their owners are all at the protest site. Sitting very comfortably.
mmasand wrote:Wonder of ED, DRI, and other agencies have the slightest clue who is on the receiving end.
As per this ToI-Let report, ED is investigating on the source of funds. But after reading about some of their recent investigations (in KL), I am not very confiedent on the outcome. There seems to be channels which ED will find it tough to detect.
Ambar wrote:Rakesh and Naresh Tikait too will go back to being what they are, just local khap panchayat leaders of few districts in western UP , and someone who despite 50 yrs of political history struggles to win 10,000 votes.
If it was so simple and with these two Tikaits are non-entities, why is UP government unable to expel them from the protest site? How long will it take to block all entry points to this site, so that more people cannot reach the spot and then evict them by force? From what I read in MSM; UP government has actually even restored power and water to the protest site. Only free supply for food is now pending.

Is this friend of yours from Kerala, by any chance? Because in southern India, I have only seen one state which has this Ambani-Adani phobia to real extreme levels. KA, TN, AP, TS all have their own pet peeves, but not this visceral hatred to the Ambani-Adani duo :). In a very 'socialist' society like Kerala, any body who makes money through business is a bourgeoisie who have to be pulled down (and preferably killed, with the proletariat taking away their wealth). Ambani & Adani also represents the Yeevil Naarth Indian Bania who have been ripping of the money of the poor people from South. This is when there are thousands of South Indians who actually work in the firms of the Ambani-Adani duo. In Kerala, there are also business men (mainly people who went to the Middle East 30-40 years back and made money) who are actually worshipped by the Keralites. So it is like what ever business a M.A Yusuf Ali or Raavi Pillai does is good business, where as Ambani and Adani are bad. May be there is a also a jealousy factor here; Ambani & Adani's net worth is way higher than the Gulf Money centric businessmen.

May be you should tell your friend about the recent story in Kerala. Adani won the contract to run the Thiruvananthapuram air port. He promised more money/passenger than the other bidders which even included Govt. of Kerala. GoKL even had a clause which would get them the contract if their per passenger fees was close to the money quoted by any private party. Even with this clause GoKL lost. And then it was found out that the communist, revolutionary, macho government of Kerala had go their tender documents prepared by a consultancy in which Gautam Adani's daughter in law was a key member . Think about it; Adani bad mouthed 24/7 and his own relatives work on drafting tenders for GoKL (and collect a good fee).

To sum up, commies need some 'class enemy' using which people can be brain washed, and all their frustrations to be focused upon. Netaji Subhash Bose was a 'class enemy' for some time, local marwari traders are more closer targets etc. etc. Ultimately all these are tactics to manage a group of people having low self esteem and inferiority complexes.

Absolutely!

It is out and out Guju hate .. Remember Patel too was a Guju and the amount of bile that was unleashed when his statue was built.

Gandhi too would have been come in for the same treatment except for that fact that the chief BIF family has adopted his surname and that Gandhi provides a cover for all their BIF activities.

ITC and Hindustan lever and others have been in the same market for ages and no one thinks to bring up their names

the MNCs have paid off these "activists" and their PR agencies are very actively managing the presstitutes and keeping their employers' names out of the limelight

the dharward professor(s) advising pappu and others, using SM surgical strike tools and media carpet bombing techniques pioneered by the likes of cambridge analytica, their spin offs and derivatives who are very active in India because of the evolution of the BIF strategy and tactics to counter Modi's use of SM and his man ki baat broadcasts whose reach is unrivalled in the Indian hinterlands.

the "management" of the "Farmer's" protests is taking on a professional hue and sophistication that is beyond the ken of the khalis and the commies.

The rapid regrouping of the BIF, following the republic day fiasco confirms that there is a Plan B in play. Only this this time, they have changed tack and the jat caste card is prominently fronting the second strike

Ban all tractors from entering the NCR until further notice and for tractors already inside the NCR, ban them from public roads and keep them strictly confined to their individual farmlands only.

individual permits, if required, can be issued to the tractor on a case by case basis.

If I can be inconvenienced by these "farmers" and shaheenbaghers, so can their lives also be made equally uncomfortable.

democracy should be a great leveller of individual rights and freedoms
