Brilliant, Anujan ji, as always.

Cheen wants to be in SAARC, IORA etc. It knows that it cannot ask for a seat in The Quad ! That would be absurd to say the least !!! So, it is asking its Pakistan Autonomous Region (PAR) to be a Part.

Actually they want to exclude India from the Quad & have a five-pronged alliance of Pakistan, USA, Japan, Australia, and Raghav Bahl.

It will be called the Quint.

the print debate with the former high commissioner to Pakistan TCA Raghavan and Mushaid Hussien (senator from Badmash's party)

Most of the video is about ABVs visit to lahore and the usual blah blah blah. here is a quick summary of what the paki senator has to say so you dont have to waste 1/2 hour. (my comments in blue)

1. he says problems of south asia will be solved by south asians without looking at Washington or brussles.(does this mean pakis will give up on the UN drama. they agreed to this Shimla agreement but went back so nothing gained for us.)
2. wants to tackle low hanging fruit like cricket, culture, etc (expect track thoo drama to begin again)
3. wants to co-operate on climate change  (will they be cutting pindi chana emissons)
4. wants to co-operate on corona  (begging for vaccine)
5. Military is leading the talks(dimrans days are numbered.)

this is my conjecture
1. as for the timing may be this deal was reached earlier but pakis could not go public until Hans retreated.
2. looks like china is really squeezing their nuts on the cpec loans and they are abt to become a colony.
3. pakis biggest fear is that India will ignore and then forget about them. the recent news cycle where all Indian media was focused on China might have reinforced this fear.
4. watching the video "pakistan people prefer Indian vaccine" says a lot abt the actual Pakistan china relationship.

My 2 cents.
Paxis are trying to pull a Nixon out of Biden like their Chinese masters did in 70s.

Their economy is in a very bad shape and none of their 3.5 fathers are ready to bailout this time. Their ‘Geo-strategic’ begging bowl is useless now so they are renaming it to ‘geo-economic’ begging bowl.

They are whining about how they were tricked to accept ‘odious debts’ in duress.

The below appears in multiple article for a while.
Apparently, all Pakistani debts are odious as they were thrust upon praetorian regimes to bring them within anti-Communist (SEATO, SEATO) or anti-`terrorist’ fold. To avoid embarrassing unilateral refusal of a country to repay odious debts, UN should declare which portion of debts is `odious’. Alternatively, the USA should itself write off our `bad’ debts.
There are already articles appearing in usual think tanks like ‘Atlantic Council’ about what Biden’s administration should do for them and of course in return for nothing.

It is a funny article to read. It explains how US has a once in a lifetime of great opportunity to give money to Paxis as there is no other country is ready to do so. You may learn about new term ‘Islamic foreign policy’as well.
They sensed ‘War on terror’ gravy train has left the station and then next potential gravy train is ‘China Centric’ . That’s why they are drooling to be included in QUAD.

All they need to show now is that they are indeed better ally to contain China than India. Only possible way is to copy what their Chinese Masters did in 1969 with Russia (Zhenbao Island) which tricked Nixon to trust Chinese and opened economy.

Pickup a small border skirmish with China and get beaten badly, show off body bags of cannon fodders, run crying to US. After all Paxis are also victims of Odious loans and proliferations of China.

Will this US admin fall for this trick all over again? Anything can happen.

Pakis will play the card that Bidanna needs to bail them out of Chinese debt if he wants support on Afghan or countering China. But there will be no takers.

So much for those who claim that Abhinandan was released due to US pressure ! :rotfl:

A rare phone call, secret letter: How India got Pak to release IAF’s Abhinandan
Then RAW chief Anil Dhasmana made a rare phone call to his then ISI counterpart Lt General Syed Asim Munir Ahmed Shah over a secure line, demanding that the IAF pilot be released immediately

After images of bleeding captured Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman were put out by Pakistan on this day in 2019, the then Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) chief on the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi read the riot act to his ISI counterpart and warned Pakistan of severe consequences if the pilot of the Indian Air Force’s MiG-21 was harmed.

Wing Commander Abhinandan’s MiG-21 Bison was shot down after successfully intercepting a posse of Pakistani fighters over the Line of Control in the Rajouri-Mendhar sector on 27 February, the day after the Balakot strike. Before the IAF pilot ejected from his ageing MiG-21 hit in the aerial dogfight over the skies of Jammu, he shot down a fourth-generation F-16 fighter. He was captured by villagers in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir where he landed and handed over to the Pakistan military.

Hindustan Times, after talking to former air force, intelligence and politicians has been able to reconstruct some of the behind-the-scenes action in New Delhi and Islamabad that led Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to release the Indian fighter pilot. PM Khan, who made the announcement in the National Assembly on 28 February, called the decision “a gesture of peace”.

Wg Cdr Abhinandan Varthaman returned home on 1 March via the heavily-guarded Wagah-Attari border post. In the 60-odd hours that he spent in Pakistani custody, the air force pilot became the face of the conflict between the two countries when the Pakistani army released a set of propaganda videos that showed him in its custody. In one, he was blindfolded and blood-covered and yet, responded to questions from a Pakistan Army officer with remarkable composure, calm and dignity. It was soon after Pakistan put out the initial set of photographs of the pilot in captivity that India decided to move swiftly, and decisively to secure his release.

It is understood that after PM Modi saw images of the bleeding Indian pilot and his smiling captors, he told the Indian intelligence chief to clearly communicate to Pakistan that New Delhi will stop at nothing if Abhinandan is harmed and demand his immediate release. PM Modi's message to Pakistan was: “Our weapon arsenal is not for Diwali.”

The message was conveyed by then RAW chief Anil Dhasmana to his then ISI counterpart Lt General Syed Asim Munir Ahmed Shah over a secure line. Dhasmana was so blunt that even the ISI chief was surprised at how the RAW chief was going ballistic over Abhinandan’s photographs. The RAW chief told him that the consequences will entirely lie on Islamabad if the pilot was even touched and must be returned unharmed. To demonstrate that India meant business, the armed forces were ordered to ready mobile Prithvi ballistic missile batteries in the Rajasthan sector. It set alarm bells ringing in faraway Washington as well.

In his brief statement announcing Wing Commander Abhinandan’s release in the National Assembly on February 28, Prime Minister Imran Khan said he tried to speak with PM Narendra Modi the previous day but couldn’t get through.
The first confirmation about Wing Commander Abhinandan’s release came sometime before PM Imran Khan made the announcement. HT learns ISI chief Lt Gen Shah had sent a secret letter to the RAW chief on February 28 morning, conveying the decision to release the IAF pilot. PM Modi was informed about the letter.
The ISI chief was removed from his post in June 2019 after serving only eight months and replaced by a hardliner Lt General Faiz Hameed.

Yeah, it is truly an ISI ghostwritten puff-piece. Utter garbage. "End of islamic foreign policy" is being sold as a new Paki feature when the reality is that Saudis walked away from that game, not the Pakis. Still trying to do an equal-equal with India, nuclear war scenario included. And absolutely crazy idea of American companies opening factories in Pakiland to export to China (why would they, when they can open factories in just about every other country in the region including China, for the Chinese market!).

I read the puff piece. Let me summarize it for you

1) Pakistan's foreign policy and economy has failed. They are in a debt trap*

2) US should give pakistan lots of money. In return pakistan can allow us companies to operate (why? Massa companies can have better manufacturing, back office and markets in India)

3) this is all because it was all a big mistake. Pakistan is a nice country. People are nice etc etc**

*it's not mentioned here that part of the failure was because of tactical brilliance of two timing massa: taking all the money for GOAT but secretly supporting telebunnies. They have alienated massa, worked themselves into a debt trap with China. Replied to overtures of peace from Modi with terror attacks. Annoyed Saudis by trying to form China-Pakistan-Turkey-Malaysia axis. Got itself into FATF mess by sheltering and abetting terrorists. It can all be summed up in two lines:

(A) pakistan has a habit of playing one country off of another through GUBO. this has a tendency to backfire

(B) pakistan uses nukes and terror as leverage. So they have no friends. Only transactional relationships.

**Notice how earlier articles used to threaten (A) pakistan has nukes and terrorists will get it if massa doesn't give money (B) if massa doesn't give money china will. But now this article takes the tone of "it's all a big mistake onlee. Al-Bakistan is nice country"

India has gone beyond ABA as far as the pakis are concerned and a path back to his idealistic and unrealistic paki foreign policy will not ever be traversed again.

ABA tried his best but only got jehadi perfidy and the usual paki treachery in return, and for the muslims, this taqiya return gift is par for the course, like it has been for many centuries now. That treachery was planned and operationalized by an uncontrollable paki army chief. bajwa is another paki army chief in the same mold and also cut from the very same cloth

kargil, 26/11, parliament attack et al will not be forgotten by India but the pakis are delusional and are hoping that we do and they have the example of prithviraj chauhan to base their hopes on.

why not give them for free, all the covid vaccines that these entitled jehadis seem to be coveting from India.

I welcome restoration of the ceasefire along the LOC. The onus of creating an enabling environment for further progress rests with India. India must take necessary steps to meet the long-standing demand & right of the Kashmiri people to self determination acc to UNSC resolutions.

I congratulate the entire nation & salute our Armed Forces on the 2nd Anniversary of our response to India's illegal, reckless military adventure of air strikes against Pakistan. As a proud & confident nation, we responded with determined resolve at a time & place of our choosing

Vali Nasr is a notorious Iranian influence-monger under academic cover. Shamila Chowdary’s name sounds familiar but I can’t quite place it.

Paxistan is not usually a focus for Nasr. Guessing that he was an affordable buy for ISI; or there is some “personal” angle to it.

Reads like Nasr did the best he could to flog a lousy case without sacrificing whatever credibility he has in his main market, which is lobbying with massa for Iran and Muslims in general, playing the reasonable interlocutor.

My own feeling is that Biden admin is taking on China. And just like War on terror they are seeking Pakistan cooperation and willing to give money/favors to Pakis again for assurances that it will be a US ally in this.

This provides Pakis opportunity to double deal once again and take US for a good ride one more time. For China its great as they know they have got Pakis by their balls and money Pakis get from US/others would be used to pay them back.

Its a repeat of WOT experience for India.

Pakis double dealing would show up like this:

We can't show open support (Imran Khan and other will keep barking against India) but we will do insignificant work for you behind the scenes like declaring ceasefire agreement with India (while we keep sending terrorist to India)

We can't go openly against China but we will go slow on Chinese projects and once in while ask few politicians to talk against China and let few article and Talk shows against China.

So US taken for a ride. Chinese make money. Pakis gets a life line which they will squander again. And India is left to face consequences of all this

Pakistan steps up Kashmir lobbying for Biden era
on January 28, 2021

A Pakistani politician from Prime Minister Imran Khan‘s ruling Tehreek-e-Insaf party has hired a longtime Kashmiri rights advocate as the country looks to the new Joe Biden administration to put pressure on its rival India.

Bilal Ahmed Ghaffar, a member of the provincial assembly of Sindh, has signed two year-long contracts worth a total of $7,000 a month with Chinar Consulting and Kashmir Action Network. Both firms were founded last October by Washington-based activist Carin Jodha Fischer.

The Chinar contract calls on Fischer to conduct government, media and public relations involving “working on coalition funding, counterterrorism, foreign policy, and political forecasting initiatives.” Kashmir Action Network’s role meanwhile will focus on “grassroots lobbying to raise awareness about the complete absence of civil and democratic rights, the shrinking political rights, and the absolute crushing of the will and determination of the Kashmiri people.”

Fischer is a German-American activist who lived in Kashmir for 10 years, according to her Twitter account. She runs a blog that discusses issues in the region and is a habitual presence at events denouncing Indian policies in the region.

Both accounts call on Fischer to liaise with the Pakistani Embassy in Washington. She did not respond to a request for comment.

The new lobbying push comes as US-Pakistani relations face a host of challenges.

While Islamabad wants the new administration to stick to the Donald Trump administration’s peace deal with Afghanistan and the accompanying US troop withdrawal, Biden’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan told his Afghan counterpart Hamdullah Mohib last week that the US plans to review the deal. As for Kashmir, Pakistan may have a hard time convincing the new administration to forcefully step in after India respondedto Trump’s mediation offer in 2019 by revoking the long-standing special autonomy status for Indian-controlled Kashmir.

“The Biden administration will certainly not be interested in going the direction that the Pakistanis want it to go in, which is to essentially try to push back against what India is doing in Kashmir and to try to distance itself from India,” said Michael Kugelman, the senior associate for South Asia at the Wilson Center.

US policy has long been to consider the Kashmir dispute a bilateral issue between Pakistan and India, and even Trump’s mediation offer called on both parties to agree to third-party assistance. New Delhi has never sought outside help in regards to Kashmir, and Kugelman said Washington’s reliance on India to counterbalance China will discourage interference.

“The last thing this administration would want to do is rock the boat,” he said.

Fischer is the latest addition to Pakistan’s unique foreign influence operation in the United States.

The embassy has retained Houston-based Linden Government Solutions on an unusual pro bono contract allows the firm to try to collect payment from the diaspora community. The embassy extended its contract with Linden earlier this month for another three months until April 15, 2021.

Meanwhile several US groups claiming affiliation with the ruling Tehreek-e-Insaf party have recently registered as foreign agents amid apparent political infighting among the diaspora.

Advocacy around Kashmir specifically predates Fischer’s new contracts. In 2019 the Houston-based International Humanitarian Foundation, which supports India’s withdrawal from the disputed territory, signed a $50,000 contract with New York public relations firm Fenton Communications ahead of Prime Minister Khan’s September visit to the US for the UN General Assembly.

Fenton said it helped score Khan’s appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program. The prime minister used the opportunity to lambaste India’s decision to revoke Kashmir’s semi-autonomous status and took Trump up on his offer to help with the crisis.x

Exactly. It feels like a huge concession from India to Pakistan. While ceasefire is ok, Pakis are already dreaming about cricket, "people to people contact" etc. They may also be dreaming about terror attacks outside of J&K. Lot of "intellectuals" in India who are given platform in western media are rabidly anti Modi and often extend it to take anti India positions. I'll not be surprised if Pak sponsored terror attacks find tacit support from anti Modi elite in the name of 'everything's fair in love and fighting fascism'

I hope we limit the "co-operation" to just ceasefire.

There is a section of old Paki elite like Mushahid Hussain who can never believe that Pakistan can be less than India. There is a superiority complex in them that deflects every fact to claim equality shamelessly. This is a generation that was bought up on 1000 year slavery and TFTA Muslims are superior fables. This section has been able to extract disproportionate benefits for Pakistan (and for themselves) when dealing with India and West, purely by this attitude.

The only way to put these guys in place is to be very direct and rudely dismissive of them. Start there if you are forced to talk to them. Anything less will lead to going around in circles with every conversation resetting and restarting with claims of equality.

And then its time to "allow" to buy cotton from India

Pakis live in their own make believe world.
Anything beyond the ceasefire should simply not be done. Just see the benefits for Porkistan:
-Convincing the west and donor agencies that their intentions are good and restoring the aid package once again.
-Getting free Vaccines from India early which otherwise they would have got late
-Saarc Conference gets held in pakistan and Imran crows about ending of pakistan's diplomatic isolation.
-Getting cheaper cotton and yarn from India which has multiplier effect on the Pakistani economy through increased exports and increased employment opportunities for the mango abduls
-Now there is talk of restoration of cricketing ties enabling the PCB to earn hundreds of millions.

This is nothing, emboldened pakis are confident that talks on Kashmir are imminent and there will be moves to make the borders irrelevant for kashmiris (pakistanis) as per the Manmohan-Musharraf formula.

All in all the Indian Ministry/Bureacratic team which has negotiated this truce or restoration of ties will look like a big bunch of chutiyas when the paki directed terrorist's strike next. The Porkis will be hiding their chuckle at playing the Indians and gaining from it.

Totally agree, These Pakis have not yet grasped the new India under Modi, It is not just this government the attitude of people in general has changed against pakis and ganga jamuni nonsense. Hope they do their paki monkey trick and get kicked on guts from India. I liked the phrase that Major Gaurav Arya used in Jaipur DIalogues, India should treat pakis like grass in yard and periodically use lawn mover to cut them to size

As of this year, UP ($75 billion), Maharashtra ($62 billion est) and Tamil Nadu ($46 billion est) have budgets exceeding the Pakistan federal budget ($45 billion). West Bengal ($38 billion est) and Karnataka ($36 billion) are just behind.

The existence of Pakistan should be thorn for Western Governments, till then it will keep getting propped up for 2 reasons 1) being a launchpad and base for BIF forces close to India 2) Landlocking CAR region and ensuring its resources are controlled.

Logically freeing Baluchistan with Indian bases will be a very good idea. All supplies to Pakjab should go through 1 road with many bridges on the Indus, even electricity must have plants in the south and a electricity transmission corridor to Pakjab.

So, this German/American/whatever stays in J&K for 10 years, considers J&K as "IOK", gets booted out by the BJP government (specifically The Dove).
After 10 years of living in India, she cannot respect the sensitivities of GoI, what was she expecting? I wonder what Carin Jodha Fischer was doing in J&K for 10 years? I am certain GoI/MHA/IB must be having a dossier on her activities. Good that AD gave her the boot. I wonder how many more exist in JKL, and all over India?

No wonder Pakis were desperate to take this trade over. Indians did it for decades without issues and Pakis have been doing it for 1 year only. $55 Million of value. Imagine how much would have gone through already for them to feel comfortable pushing this quantity of stock out.

It is actually a one-way freight train from Turkey to Pakhanistan (according to Yawn). Why one way? Which freight train goes one way? If it's only Turkish goods, that's one thing. What if it is ferrying men and material? Remember Et-tu-Gul's threat to export peaceful warriors from Syria to Cashmere? Remember, no check points at airports and seaports to worry about.

Only the paranoid will survive.
