One needs to learn from politicians how to kill a golden goose. A good part of HR's economy relies on Gurgaon and its service sector, by implementing 75% reservation in private companies, the state has all but ensured that new investments will either go to other states or other countries. I hope other states will attract new investors or help existing companies relocate from HR to other states. 75 yrs after independence when we should be planning to dismantle reservations in jobs and education and prepare our workforce for a globalized world, we are shooting ourselves in the foot by expanding reservation. Knowing our politics, i wouldn't be too surprised if other states follow the suit.
Aah, but thou haven't grasped the sheer chankianness involved.

This is all 786-D chess. HR is bravely sacrificing its own industry and prosperity for the sake of the nation, by becoming a scarecrow model of what happens when golden geese get cooked.

Also, this will help chamkianly drive investments to nearby Noida in Yogi ji ki UP thereby further strengthening Yogi's claim to a post modi PM chair.

Well played I'd say. Jai ho.
In the end, politicos from any and every party will find means to make money and jobs is one very easy way.

Someone else's sweat, enterprise and money and some so called elected caste backed politico ahole will reap the benefits without even lifting a finger

2 years back Siddaramiah Govt made 90% reservations for locals, 5-6 state Governments including Maharashtra have passed similar laws, but they have enough loopholes and rarely implemented, it's an eyewash for local politics.

The youth are the ones driving the popularity of the BJP. It bears mentioning this - in 2013 half the voting population was under 35. Yes back in 2013 - it was seen as the main reason why RaGa would win in 2014. 'Youth icon' and a majority <35 voting population. It was a slam dunk. But...

2014 was - up to that point - the most widely participated general election ever in Indian history. 2019 broke that record. No one before - Nehru, Indira or Rajiv, has commanded the >65% turnouts in these general elections. The long term average before GE 2014 was 58% . But the vote overwhelmingly went the other way. Both these were the first two GEs in Indian history where <35s were the dominant demographic.

The RaGa behavior is antiquated. How is he doing anything fundamentally different from his great grantpa ? He's been the 'youth icon' for 15 years and is in his 50s now. He was groomed to take over from MMS in 2014 and lead the Family Property of India. He fell flat on his face with 52 LS seats. Tried again in 2019 and ended up with 51 seats.

He's the archetype woke urban naxal whose ear is always taken by the frappucchino sipping in high end cafes in Saket concerned about the status of the 'sub-alterns' (saying unwashed low caste masses is a no no). His political highlights include spending a night in the mud hut of one Kalavati, describing the escape velocity of Jupiter, and most recently using the word strategy six times in one sentence in a Q&A with Kaushik Basu - a family hanger on.

All this talk about 'aiming at the youth' is the same as the annual cover page heralding RaGa's coming of age. The reality is that the youth have been the majority of voters for two general elections already, and we all know what happened in those.

Govt starts Aadhaar-based driving license services, does away with RTO visits

NEW DELHI: According to a new notification by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), candidates will not be needed to give the RTO office a visit for a few services like attaining a learner’s license, driving license renewal, vehicle registration and many more.
MoRTH has now rolled out an Aadhar-based authentication for a total of 18 services that will not require you to pay a visit to your regional RTO. The roll-out comes almost 3 weeks after the MoRTH issued a draft order to integrate the Aadhar authentication with a few services.

next wave of protests from middle men sitting in front of RTI office who have an "understanding" with the folks in the office to share the bribes while getting a License renewal. try getting one made without these middle men and you will be asked for sundry things and asked to come back later. the amount of loopholes that were left behind is amazing.

Forget GJ. Everywhere in India the ecosystem has contracted. And then we wonder why we have no influence on academia, universities, media, etc. in other countries of the world.

Reason: BJP like all political parties consists of millions and millions of opportunists who want to reap the most benefits while doing the least amount of work or spending the least amount of money. In fact the only difference between rank-and-file BJP members and those of Congress or any other political party is that BJP is not overtly anti-national.

Modi and his circle are at the top and their plates are more than full. Below that you have dynamic leaders here and there who take initiative, but the vast majority are buffaloes.

There is literally no interest in any of these things-- building an ecosystem, reforming education, managing the media, or constructing and promoting a narrative-- even on the local and domestic level. Either the capability is lacking or the will is lacking or (most often) both. On the international level, expecting us to be anywhere near China is a joke.

Whatever useful work is being done, it is thanks to the contributions of private citizens: Sankrant Sanu (Garuda Prakashan publishing), Swarajya, OpIndia, Rajiv Malhotra's network, and more recently by younger generation folks like J Sai Deepak (Indic Collective), Srijan Foundation, Sham Sharma, Kushal Mehra etc. If you want to help out, either join them by creating content on YouTube and other Social Media, or support them financially.

Expecting BJP to do anything is like expecting a buffalo to dance bharatnatyam. We should be thankful that BJP is a buffalo and not a scorpion, so it still deserves our votes in elections-- but that is all.

Interaction with Govt usually means bribes - whether it is for land registration, driver's licence or anything. Of course, it is possible to soothe the conscience by abstracting it away - ex: go to a driving school for a license. So, what is needed is less govt and reduced govt interaction. Good that the BJP govt gets it.

There has been a concerted attempt to delegitimise India’s anti-imperialist struggle and Indian nationalism.
This is a very very important point. The core of modern India as nation, that got it's independence in 47 was Nationalism. A nation which threw out it's colonial masters will always be built on nationalism.

The lot who claim there is a increase in nationalism in India, would do the same if India was still a colony!

Mahatma Gandhi would have been today a symbol of "toxic Indian nationalism"!

This caravan magazine seems to be the source of most disinfo in media circles.

A report with half baked truths, unnamed sources and questionable references is published. Immediately, liar/squint and rest of the leftie rags pick up and kick a storm on twitter.

Latest is the color coding of journalists on the digital media regulations.

The whole Indo-China standoff since 2014 is result of Modi destroying the China-vision of Xi Jinping that was almost realized if Congress were to come into power in 2014.

No wonder Rahul Gandhi cries Modi doesn’t have a vision (to sell India to China).

Now ruminate what China did to Bharat since 2014 and how Congress contributed to China game.

All this plan went into drain when 33 Crore Devas of Bharat brought Modi into power by giving him clean majority.

Xi visits India in 2014.

If people remember, the news was Xi Jinping offered Modi to invest $500B into India’s infrastructure and Modi rejected the offer.

Basically Xi offered Modi same deal he negotiated with Congress. Take your 20% cut and give me India.

By imposing permanent ban on RSS and merging all Congress B/C/D teams into itself, Congress will be Congress/Communist Party of India (CPI) same as Communist Party of China (CPC)

With UNSC Veto carrying China & Russia flanking India on both sides; the USA and UK wouldn’t be any more happier when the de-nuked India goes into Communist rule!

In return, Congress will integrate and mortgage Indian economy to China Communist Party under BRI.

This would be sold as Asian Unity and Ushering Peace in South-Asia.

With both India and Pakistan firmly under its economic squeeze; one needn’t surprise if the Norwegian dream of nuke-free south-Asia is ushered.

Nobel Prize for Rahul Gandhi anyone?

As Congress is busy selling Bharat to Chino-India-Company under the guise of BRI, the public was supposed to be fed freebies with the NYAY sops.

Raghuram Rajan (RBI Gov) who didn’t have Rs 1L Crores to recapitalize banking system; somehow claimed to have Rs 3.5L crore cash with government every year.

The vehicle of this game is China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

China will extend BRI into Indian subcontinent with Congress help.

This will be Congress’ CPEC with Congress pocketing its 20% share and China dumping its industrial excess capacity in India.

The assumption is that Modi won’t be able to get majority in 2014.

In this interview, Rahul Gandhi gives a peek into his China (pipe) dream!

Connecting some dots that my mind sees:

The agreement between Congress and China Communist Party is not a agreement between equals but that between an emperor and satrap.

It is a game of Congress nincompoops trying to rule India (in perpetuity) and offering Bharat to Chino-India-Company.

What were the fuel and energy prices during the system cleanup in China/Korea ?? Did the China and Korea common man pay more for fuel and energy than their neighbours while working hard for an honest living. Did the Chinese and Korean govts tax their middle-class to win popular support in elections ?? Too many abberations in the Indian context for a one-to-one comparison with China and Korea.

Starting with Cong mnrega program, the Indian politician is determined to kill the goose that lays the golden egg and is fully determined to cater to crony capitalists and simply pander to the voting classes by populist programs. The Indian politician today thinks he has found the silver bullet to playing electoral politics as well as manipulating the system to fund their financial extravagence without paying a political price. Economic growth was simply tied to corporate growth and the rest were left high & dry. The current administration is just fooling around with their experiments in electoral politics and divisionism. The next administration may fare better at economic growth if it learns the right lessons and takes the nation together. You really need someone who is interested in welfare of middle-class for real economic and demand growth in economy rather than just seeing them as politically dispensible idiots who do not have any options.

To begin with , system cleanup in china/korea did not have the same kind of legacy we sustained all along. So our clean up would be" costlier" than what "they had " gone through. If the present govt is batting on corporates / industrial growth with focus on infrastructure development and targeted welfare schemes for the less privileged , its far better than the NAYA scheme and dozens of doles , promulgated by the main opposition.

BJP in opposition once in a while maybe better than in government for Hindu causes. This opinion will not be popular in this forum but it maybe better if they loose in 2024 narrowly. Then they won't take anything for granted.

There are various issues directly attributed to islamists in GJ and you would never see BJP cadre talk about it to avoid being on manifestos like love jihad, grooming, liquor, encroachment, drugs, implementation and enforcement of disturbed areas property sells and rentals, etc. snip.....
I am seeing this of late of people increasing in number that perhaps BJP must loose if Modiji doesn't go about their pet peeves first or if Yogi is not brought immediately. If BJP looses in the center whether narrowly or with a bigger margin is immaterial. All the people who were silent or kept silent due to the mandate will be out in the open demanding their pound of flesh. And there won't be any coming back.
Now that the opposition has seen what it means to be out of power with the consolidation of Hindu votes each and every method will be implemented to break it and the people will be divided based on caste, region, state, language freebies and anything else that you can name it.
i don't have to say what happens in bengal, Punjab or Kerala with targeted killings. The police will not register a case if it involves minority community without a right wing govt because atleast now people can make noise to get some one to act.

To get the things done by Hindus/Hindu community, first people need to organize and realize what it is that they want and how they can go about achieving it within the constraints of law and constitution. The same thing was also pointed in the interview of String "Vinod" by Nationalist Hub posted in the previous pages. He points that if the police is not acting against the perpetrator of the act, you should go and put a case on the concerned lawman for not acting on your complaint and see how you can get to the bottom of the situation.

People are forgetting that in 6 years of Modi- the opposition has put a cadidate who is now janeudhari hindu, his kin is washing herself in ganga, the commies are trying to join hindu festivals after promoting beef festivals all along. It won't take them a minute to go back without the current dispensation or Hindu consolidation.

Regarding having a political party for hindu cause,s maybe we would be better served with an organization or NGO role one which can first bring awareness and consolidation on various causes, once there is a ground swell support, the govt of the day will not go against it or atleast we can have hope of achieving it at some point (a la Ram Mandir in Ayodhya). It would reason to think that VHP or bajrang dal themselves should pivot on these lines as they have some organizational structure and cadre for it already. Another political party will only eat into hindu votes and cause secular ones to rise among the margins.

Saar, based on past discussions, it is reasonable to say that the Chinese citizens and the Koreans had a social contract with their respective govts and had faced challenging livestyles and made plenty of sacrifices to be where they are today and suffice to say if you ask their current generation to do a fraction of the same those countries would be in revolt from the masses.
i didn't quite understand what you meant by Congress MNREGA program and killing the golden goose. afterall the current dispensations has not stopped it, but tweaked a few rules to implement it better.
you haven't pointed out how the current administration is divisive, or how it is only helping the capitalists. what are the right lessons that are supposed to be learnt as in specifics.

Ambar Saar and some of the other folks have been posting on rise of fuel price. I agree that fuel prices shouldn't be allowed to go beyond a number as that has cascading effects on commodities and subsequently inflation.
But if someone gave a breakdown of fuel prices it would be helpful. based on what little i have been able to research, the current price is 32 something for litre of petrol after refining and another 3.70-4 for dealer charges. the central govt's excise duty and cess is about 32 for petrol. this brings it to 70 and then there is 30% vat.
price of fuel after refining - Rs. 33
dealer commission - Rs. 3-4
Excise and Cess by Centre - Rs 32
total ~ Rs 70
Vat (30% on petrol) - Rs 22
total ~ Rs 92

My info is sparse as most of the recent news items are saying that the price hasn't gone down when the barrel prices were down but are now rising when the crude price is rising giving more of a political commentary than info.

the Excise tax is a flat rate and the vat is a percentage, so now that barrel prices are going up the charges are also going up.

My main point is the VAT is something that states charge (Please correct em if my info is wrong here) and the excise money is also shared between Centre and State. that brings the price of fuel shared to the state govt as close to Rs. 28-31.
recently 4 states had reduced the VAT charges believe Rajasthan, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya. if the Central govt is funding the highways and major infrstructure, does it make sense for the state govt to charge such a high percentage of VAT to balance ther budgets and sops.
can VAT be reduced to say 15-18% as the barrel prices go further up?

Edited to add links for the info i have searched

I find this "De-colonization" business in the west quite amusing and hypocritical.

Pulling down statues & monuments and re-writing history to better tell the truth about colonialism is fine if left wing goras are instigating it.
However when it comes to the Babri Masjid colonial monument being pulled down, then it is Hindu cultural bigotry.

When Indian history is re-written to tell the truth about islamic barbarism and conquest, then it is islamophobia.

The hypocricy is stomach churning.

Ambani bomb scare mystery gets murkier. Devendra fadnavis made a speech in Maharashtra assembly highlighting that. Some details.

1) Sachin waze. The encounter specialist, who was behind Arnab arrest and is known to be close to MVA govt, has been in touch with the owner of the scorpio since June 2020. Fadnavis highlighted that. He wants case to be handed over to NIA.

2) Reports are coming in now that the owner of the scorpio has been found dead under mysterious circumstances.

Some more points in detail.
1) In his speech today revealed that Sachin Waze was the first to reach the spot (even before local police) where a suspicious car with gelatin was found near Ambani's house

2) The owner of the car immediately rushed to Crawford mkt in an Ola after his car broke down.

3) The person who died was the main witness. Fadnavis had requested to grant him protection during his speech. After 2 hours the person was dead.

4) Currently, the person investigating this ambani case is Sachin waze.

This is definitely more sinister than a hoax. And I can bet MVA along with BIF forces are behind this intimidation.

Fadnavis press conference video.

Well well Sidarth Vardarajan OCI status can be cancelled if becomes true.

https://indianexpress.com/article/india ... t-7215472/
The OCI cardholders will be entitled to get multiple entry lifelong visa for visiting India for any purpose but are “required to obtain a special permission or a special permit from the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer or the Indian Mission to undertake research and to undertake any missionary or Tabligh or mountaineering or journalistic activities”, the MHA notification stated.

Very well written article. I don't think BJP itself knows or has even tried to highlight their achievements. I loved the way you peppered citations all over the article, makes it very hard for somebody to contest the facts. I hope you will write more often for platforms like SwarajyaMag and for platforms with an even wider audience.

venkat_kv wrote:Ambar Saar and some of the other folks have been posting on rise of fuel price.
Venkatji, the excise duty has not remained flat, it is up by 258% on petrol and 820% on diesel ( not a typo, those are the actual numbers) since 2014. With smartphones and internet, the general public has ready access to things like international oil prices in 2014 Vs 2021, exchange rates etc. and they see how much more we are paying for fuel and cooking gas today compared to the past.

More worryingly its not just the fuel prices which have continuously gone up, the prices of essential daily commodities are up anywhere between 20% to 40% since the beginning year and close to 100% since June of 2020 for certain items. I had listed the retail prices a couple of pages ago along with a article from a popular daily (on page 58) , this daily has historically been pro-BJP but off late as the general ire of the public has risen, so have the number of articles criticizing the government's economic policies.

It does not give a lot of confidence when the finance minister issues statements like "we are in dharam sankat" or like this morning when we asked OPEC to ease the prices and KSA responded by asking us to use cheap fuel we imported in 2020. Why are we asking suppliers to cut the prices while we increase the tax and failed to develop even 1/10th of the SPR of US or China.

The harsh reality is lack of hindu ecosystem, national and international support for Indic causes , multi-billion dollar scams or even security situation all take a backseat compared to cost of living and quality of life. Yes, it is a myopic view but for a family of 4 making less than Rs25,000 it is very hard to explain how the increase in their cost of living is justified because we are improving border connectivity in Ladakh , it just doesn't cut it.

Swarajya had a good article yesterday why its time to cut the fuel prices drastically.

https://swarajyamag.com/economy/why-its ... rastically

The other complaint i often hear is on the interest rates. BJP's biggest supporters are the middle class and the lower middle class, many of them live on fixed incomes, their savings is too meagre and way too important to risk dabbling in stock markets and too little to invest on real estate. So they look at FDs which have long been the preferred form of savings for Indians, especially the poor and the middle class. When the interest rate is cut to 5.5% p.a on FD, and the real inflation is 4 to 5 times that number then the savings too is quickly eaten away. While i admit the govt does not have an easy road ahead , it is time to rethink some of the projects until it can find the funds without further burdening the working class. I'd anyday be ok with government rising tax on capital gains if it means relief in other areas.

well if you research the cost of crude extraction is hardly a dollar per barrel. OPEC/KSA deliberately create scarcity to get more per barrel. So a big importer like India is well within its rights as a consumer to use purchasing power to get better deal.

The middle class is also benefiting from the lower home and other loan rates so you may find equal number of people on both sides of the line. When the world is moving to -ve interest rates how can Indian industry compete with high interest rate.

Thanks Uttam, and Cyrano :) Yes for long I’ve felt the BJP itself lacks good articulation of what it is, and let’s others define them, which they obviously do as negatively as possible . Applying the same terminology as in continental Europe , the BJP are a liberal-conservative Hindu democratic party. To quote:
Liberal conservatism is a political ideology combining conservative policies with liberal stances, especially on economic, social and ethical issues, representing a brand of political conservatism strongly influenced by liberalism.
In much of Central and Northwestern Europe, especially in Germanic and traditionally Protestant countries as well as the United Kingdom and Belgium, a divide persists between liberal conservatives (including Christian democrats) and liberals (including conservative liberals and social liberals).
Yes the term liberal-conservative sounds rather dumb, like ‘hot-cold’, but I did not make the name of the terms :)

It is important that at least this side continuously and consistently describe the BJP correctly - as a liberal-conservative Hindu Democratic Party.

While OPEC cutting production to increase the prices is true, the Indian consumer did not benefit when the oil prices were much much lower last year, so blaming OPEC while continuously increasing the tax domestically is hardly fair.

The world is not moving to -ve interest rates, the money printing machines in US and EU who benefit from controlling much of the global trade through their currencies are. The savers even in those countries are being taken to the cleaners but atleast they benefit from a robust social security program , pension program , unemployment benefits which protects the risk-averse working class to a certain extent, in India there are no government programs to save someone from dying of hunger and poverty. The interest rate needs to take inflation into account, we still to a large extent subsistence economy .

Sinister plot. It was clearly intended to send a message and not to cause harm. Ambanis, Tatas, Adanis etc are not loyal to anyone or any ideology except money, they are pure capitalists in the truest sense who have good relations with INC, BJP, NCP, SS and anyone who will protect their investments, so why MH establishment would want to threaten Ambani is beyond me. The entire MH Crime Branch is rotten to the core, remember Hemant Karkare was one of the key members of the team who imprisoned and tortured Sadhvi Pragya and Col. Purohit. He was also known to be very close to Digvijay Singh and the then home minister Shivraj Patil, and was said to be on phone constantly with Digvijay Singh when the 26/11 atrocities unfolded. The other "hero" of that horrible day Vijay Salaskar and his crime branch colleagues Pradeep Sharma, Aslam Momin, Daya Nayak etc. all have done their bit of bidding for D-Company or Chota Rajan or Ashwin Naik. Hope NIA or CBI can investigate further but knowing how SSR case, the Republic TV case turned out i have little hope.

Thanks, but don't sell yourself short like that :) Please feel free to ask - it's worthwhile to understand liberal conservatism better, because it best describes the BJP. You said you live in EU. Depending on where you are, you probably see the the local version - the Christian Democrats - as the mainstream of politics there.

PM Modi to address Combined Commanders’ Conference at Kevadia in Gujarat on Saturday
https://www.deshgujarat.com/2021/03/05/ ... -saturday/
In a major change from the past, the scope of the conference this year has been expanded to make it a multi-layered, interactive, informal and informed event with the added participation of about 30 Officers and soldiers of various ranks from the three Services. Key events encapsulate series of discussions & deliberations on a range of issues pertinent to the Armed Forces and its role in nation building, with the participation of senior most political and bureaucratic hierarchy in addition to the multi-layered participation of military personnel.
There have been several major developments in the Higher Defence Organisation since including appointment of first ever Chief of Defence Staff and setting up of the Department of Military Affairs (DMA), and several important & multifarious issues affecting modernisation & transformation of the Armed Forces are currently under active consideration/ implementation.
