No one from Punjab police responded for 20 minutes when PM's security detail frantically was trying to get in touch to inform that his convoy was stranded, says BJP

Extremely interesting discussions on this thread (not being sarcastic).

One is about stray dogs, and how more could be done on a proactive basis to control the menace.

Another is about the PM getting stuck on a bridge.

The two issues are so similar, it would be funny if not tragic. Frankly in this case, I feel that the PM has nobody to blame but himself. We blame Maneka Gandhi and co for being idiots and not recognizing the real problem, because of some misguided sense of animal rights. It seems the PM has been doing the same with the BIF.

And Chetak ji, you are mistaken about the rabies vaccine, just duckduckgo it.

Law and Order is a state subject and this seems like a deliberate move to force the govt.'s hand so that the INC traitors can play victim to their gallery if the govt. responds with article 356 which would be right thing to do in this case. But Australia was celebrating Gurpurab and UK was holding a referendum, on Gurpurab day when PM revoked the farm laws -- there is a wider conspiracy at play in punjab with the US-triad (US/UK/Aus) and Pakistan having sunk their claws deep in PJ. The christian CM Channi is playing to the khalisthani gallery along with the INC, and the US and Canada like to have these useful khalistani idiots who are now linked with the evangelist crowd in the US.Hope this govt.has a plan if they lose PJ to AAP/INC.
If the lowlife "Capt. Amarinder" can win the election on his own merit, this should be ok.If not, the 303-seat govt.will be pushed into a corner with national security problems in the south (AP/TN/KL)and the North, with willing instigation by more powerful countries (US and China, who are economic allies at this time) Sterlite plant shut down and foxconn being shut down in TN demostrates Chinese and/or US claws have sunk deep into trade unions, which is not surprising since this is the same JNU "BIF" crowd. This govt. seems to be deliberately sitting on its hands and not the making the most obvious response to the security situations they find themselves in, but they may have other reasons since they have the information edge compared to the average citizen.

This is extremely infuriating! The only "report" from PJ govt is gonna be a big THENGA! (thumb).
He is following established procedure. That doesn't mean it is the only thing he will do. Meanwhile, the district SSPhas been suspended, for a start.

According to Channi, the PJ goremint tried to "pacify" the 200-odd "protestors" in advance of the PM's cavalcade. This situation did not called for "pacifying". It called for immediate clearance of the route by whatever means needed.

This deliberate attempt to breach PM security is a natonal security offense ("treason"). All those found responsible or complicit should be charged as such.

There was malicious intent , deliberate incompetence and real lack of judgement by everyone involved. The actions of agro-terrorists, their benefactors and the Punjab govt including the puppet CM does not surprise me but what surprises me is the lack of intelligence and competence of SPG and PMO. Apparently given the bad weather IAF advised against using the helicopter from Bhatinda to Ferozepur. At this point the PM and his security should have cancelled their plans and returned to Delhi but instead thought it was wise to travel by road for 2 hrs ! I cannot think of any major head of state who would take such a risk of travelling by road for 2 hrs in this day and age of terrorism, this was failure no.1. Failure no.2 was SPG not using pilot cars to ensure clear roads throughout, if you haven't staked out the route already, isnt this a terrible lack of preparedness and violating one of the fundamental rules of VIP security ? Failure no.3 is on PMO and BJP leadership, read the ground reality, PJ is simmering and BIF are heavily invested in restarting Khalistani campaign, do not put the PM's security at risk in a time like this.

Actually there is a big collaboration from Jihadis, Khalistanis, CON/AAP party and international scums especially white racist Nazis like WaPo/NYT/PeePeeCee and Chinese/Paki agencies like NDTV/Wire. They have allies in SC who will keep signaling the rioters/terrorists/traitors that they will be protected no matter what they do.

They need to go back to drawing board and strategize. It is not ED/CBI. We need to find all the weaknesses of internal collaborators and finish them.

The slow and steadily depreciating INR will always incentivize social unrest instigated by non-Indian vested groups. If there was an alternative to the INR available to people then India can counter the .5 of the 2.5 front.

What kind of message does BJP want to get across with almost criminal non-action, passive attitude of theirs? On one hand the message that may very well be sinking is that Gov cant protect its own. This will tilt scales away in states where violence rules the roost. Secondly, if they think that they will be countered by inimical judiciary and think its better lie down for now (maybe thinking that economy may suffer due to full-blown out confrontation between 2 arms of state), they will pay for the mistaken thinking. They should have never backed down when SC stuck down NJAC. Now, there are so many fronts opening up just because they chose to kick the can down the road.

If they are waiting for variables to be in their favor before launching assault, they will have to wait for a long time as of now. That moment passed away in 2019

^^^^ Surprised to see no NSG people protecting the convoy, you can see protesters taunting and following the convoy.

The concerned IPS officers should be transferred to Myanmar border postings asap then an investigation should be conducted into the security lapse; plus sop's for such events should be changed.

It is a horrifying lapse in security on both sides and a potential mega-tragedy that has thankfully been averted. You can only imagine the nation would have become a bonfire had something happened to the PM. Khalistan supporters perhaps were hoping something like this would happen to then bring in even more international support to their cause. Little do they realize the the India of today is not that of 1983-1984 when sympathy for Sikhs in UK/US whitewashed all the horrors perpetrated upon the Hindus by extremists within their fold.

In all of this I also feel for the Hindus of Punjab, they too must feel let down and as vulnerable as those in WB who faced Mumtaz Bano's wrath post elections.

The central government needs to come down hard on the culprits responsible. Will be very difficult given their record so far in shying away from confrontation within the country. They need to understand this is no different from Pulwama, perhaps more dangerous in some ways.

The foot soldiers in Punjab for all protests (including the farmers protests on Delhi borders) are provided not by khalistanis (who are miniscule) but by the communists. Not many people realize it, but communists are well-entrenched in Punjab since decades, especially in the Malwa region. They mobilize people from villages for any cause and collect a huge crowd quickly. They were the prime mobilizers for the farmers protests, and also for blocking PM's convoy today. People blame all civil unrest in Punjab on Khalistanis, but it is the communists who are the real trouble-makers.

Why BJP is not doing everything in its power to destroy the communists in India is beyond me. Too much of statesman like behavior only encourages people to lose all fear of you and crap all over you.
Explained: Who were the protesters who held up PM Modi’s vehicle in Punjab?

Around 400-500 protesters belonging to Surjit Singh Phool's Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Krantikari group sat on the flyover near village Piareana in the Ghall Khurd tehsil of Ferozepur district.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vehicle was stationary for 15-20 minutes on a flyover on the way from Bathinda to Hussainiwala National Martyrs’ Memorial in Ferozepur on Wednesday (January 5) afternoon, after which his cavalcade returned to Bathinda airport.

The extraordinary breach of the Prime Minister’s security was caused by protesters who had blocked the road ahead.

Who was protesting?

Around 400-500 protesters belonging to Surjit Singh Phool’s Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Krantikari group sat on the flyover near village Piareana in the Ghall Khurd tehsil of Ferozepur district.

The BKU Krantikari (Phool) is part of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), which spearhead the yearlong protests against the now repealed farm laws at the borders of Delhi. It occupies a position to the far left of the political spectrum that the SKM straddles.

The BKU Krantikari (Phool) is active in 11 districts of Punjab with a sizeable presence in seven districts, nine of which are in the Malwa region, and two in Majha. The union claims to have 25,000-30,000 members across the state.

Why were the farmers protesting?

According to Baldev Singh Zira, general secretary of the BKU Krantikari (Phool), the farmers were sitting on a dharna at three places on Wednesday — on this particular flyover; in Harika with the Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (PKMSC); and in Kulgarhi.

The intention was to stop BJP supporters from reaching the venue of a planned rally that the Prime Minister was scheduled to address in Ferozepur. The rally was ultimately cancelled due to bad weather and rain.

Units of the union were also protesting in their respective district headquarters against the PM’s planned rally.

Did they know the PM would be travelling on this road?

No, said Zira. “We were not aware about his road trip at all. We were there to stop the BJP supporters, and not the Prime Minister, who was supposed to go by helicopter,” Zira said.

The Prime Minister was initially supposed to fly from Bathinda airport, but it was later decided that he should go to Hussainiwala by road.

Zira conceded that the senior superintendent of police (SSP) of Ferozepur Harmandeep Singh had informed the protesters that the PM’s cavalcade would travel by that route.

“But the protesters did not believe him, suspecting that it was a ruse by the police to remove them so that BJP workers and supporters could reach at the rally. Had we known that the PM would actually travel on that road, we would have lifted our dharna,” he said.

Zira said there was a lot of anger among the protesters against the BJP, whose supporters — who had been intially allowed to proceed to the rally venue — had got into scuffles with the farmers.

Was the BKU Krantikari (Phool) the only union that was protesting against the PM’s planned rally?

No, the PKMSC was sitting at five places on highways, and protesting at the district headquarters.

The PKMSC lifted their protests after officials assured them that the PM would meet them on March 15 to discuss the pending demands of the farmers, including MSP for all crops, withdrawal of all cases filed against the farmers during their protest, and compensation and government jobs for the next of kin of farmers who died during the protest.

The largest farm union in the state, the BKU (Ugrahan), too protested at all district headquarters. An estimated 1 lakh union members held up signs saying “Go Back Modi”, and burnt effigies of the PM at various places.

from the videos I have seen it seems a very small crowd (<50).
Police were drinking chai with the protestors.
All they needed is - orders from superiors, which did not happen.

The govt has become a caricature of itself. To stumble once can be thought as an accident but to repeatedly demonstrate how poorly it plans everything including protecting the supreme commander of the country just goes to show they cannot think beyond one step at a time. Heads of SPG should roll for violating basic rules of protection. How do you decide to travel 2 hrs by road without doing a recee and days of thorough reconnaissance with contingencies planned ? How can your intelligence be so poor that you could not anticipate this in a volatile state like Punjab ? While we dont know if the PM insisted on taking the journey by road when the helicopter was advised not to take off due to poor weather, we do know that Modi has a history of overruling SPG. In 2015 on his way back from Afghanistan, he made an impromptu decision to land in Lahore to attend Nawaz Sharif's granddaughter's wedding. Modi himself revealed in a later interview that the SPG had advised against it but he insisted that they land in Lahore.

For the aam junta it just proves that they are on their own when the government can barely protect itself.

We need to organize on a community level across the country. Be ready to assemble and protect our community and our temples. As these inimical forces realize that they cannot defeat the BJP in a fair election, they are embracing violence and moving the fight to the streets. The usual suspects will cover for them in the foreign media and with Western governments by conversely blaming the BJP and GOI for violence, while the actual victims are the BJP and the Hindu community.
Let the BJP fight and win elections. That is needed. But we as a community should organize and control the street.

When Hindus like Yati and Kallicharan say the same thing, it is 'reasoning' and 'peace-loving' Hindus, even here on BRF who protest most loudly.

I've been saying this for many years, we need our own army of aggressive, unforgiving, no-nonsense street muscle that can be called to protect Dharma anywhere and everywhere. In a nation of 100 crores, this should have happened decades ago.

Either existing crypto or a new one pegged to stable currencies perhaps with tax incentives on growth... Perhaps given as bonus for nation building activities. Just random thoughts here. China experimented with capitalist bubble cities and they worked. VCs experiment with future business models. They take leaps of faith and some of the bets pay off.

Building Infra means you have to think of its long term security. It's very cheap to buy social unrest, hold up trains plans and vehicles and cause social unrest, it's tremendous leverage. Current situation is like trying to hold up a damn with weak crumbling walls and ever increasing water levels

"Channi: Charanjit Singh Channi, however, denied a security lapse, and said the PM’s plan to travel by road was made at the last minute."

That is bare-faced lie and he knows it -- yes, the PM changed his plans but the important question is how did this information get to the protestors who should not have known about it at all, since it was a last-minute change according to Channi himself. BJP does not seem to have the smarts to counter this traitor and his party by exposing this bare-faced lie by a sitting CM. Secondly, If Channi was covid positive to not meet the PM, how was he in public in another meeting without a mask? Pretty clear that Channi is a traitor and collaborator with foreign interests, just like Sidhu, and these guys get bolder with each non-response by the GoI when they openly collaborate with enemies of the state. Only thing that breaks these traitors and liberandus is that they stretch it too far, since they do not see any repercussions for supporting enemy states ostensibly, and keep pushing the traitor envelope off the edge. Maybe the response will be in the upcoming polls, if we are lucky.

I think their ultimate strategy is to draw out the center to use force and cause a few casualties so that they can beg for more funds from western Gurdwaras on Modi's "genocide" of farmers & minorities.

The center needs to figure out how to control these forces w/o public display of violence.. obviously looking only at it from the financial angle is not working.

I can bet the number is higher than all the wars we've fought on all the front. Our top brass as well as political class does not care a lot.

We should be able to defend our temples, people, and nation by having a real presence on the street without relying on any political party. We should have the power to make these traitors and liberandus feel repercussions.
Also, we are kidding ourselves if we think that we will be safe in the US, UK or Europe especially in the coming years. No one will stand up for us but us.

Guys calm down. And think calmly.
It's clearly a Congress attack on PM which is a political matter.
It's not Sikh or Punjab.
RaGa out of the country is a clear tip-off to avoid blame.
Yes, there were lapses but not by SPG.
Thankfully PM was safe.
A review will be done to fill any gaps found.

Upon watching the videos of PM's motorcade stuck on the bridge with rioters mere meters from his vehicle another glaring lapse becomes obvious. The PM was travelling in a Toyota Fortuner which is used by the SPG. The PM has 3 armored vehicles at his disposal, usually when in Delhi and for ceremonial purposes a heavily armored Mercedes limousine is used. While on political and prime ministerial duties both within Delhi and especially outside of Delhi a armored Range Rover or a armored Land Cruiser are used. Under no circumstances should the PM be allowed to travel in an unarmored vehicle . There wasn't just a lapse in protocols, common sense and judgement but they were completely abandoned by everyone involved !

a. Who made the plans to travel 2 hrs by road from Bhatinda to Ferozepur ?
b. If it was foolishly decided to travel 2 hrs by road , why wasn't the route recced and contingencies planned especially in a state like Punjab ?
c. Why wasn't the PM travelling in his armored vehicle but seated in SPG's Toyota Fortuner ?
d. When PJ CM, DGP, State secretary were all missing from Bhatinda, why wasn't the intelligence savvy (or mere commonsense) enough to see that a conspiracy has been hatched ?

We have a real callous attitude towards security even when it involves our senior most leaders.

I don't think Governors usually receive the Prime Minister but the state Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, DGP always do and escort the PM to the destination, this is the established protocol. When none of them arrived in Bhatinda, alarm bells should have gone off in SPG's intelligence gathering wing, instead the made a already bad situation worse by deciding to continue their journey by road. I am still at loss why PM's purpose built armored vehicles were not used even after the stupid decision was made to drive 2 hrs.

PJ Governor - Banwarilal Purohit
PJ DGP - Siddharth Chattopadhyaya ( he is on his way out for different reasons)
PJ Chief Secretary - Anirudh Tiwari
Ferozepur SP - Harmandeep Singh Hans

At the end of the day the buck stops with SPG and PMO. SPG's sole mission and purpose of its existence is to protect the Prime Minister at all times. They have rules and protocols that should never be bent let alone completely abandoned. A lot of blame goes to our leaders as well who overrule advise by their own security personnel, and this includes Modi (the Lahore incident, riding outside the vehicle etc). Changes must be made and heads must roll.

Thanks, Ambar.
Where needed the protocols will be revised.
I am glad that the Mil helicopter was not availed off in bad weeather.
But his road route has shown other issues.
Some wise person (a veteran of Maoists attacks) said to be wary of the Local police for bad elements can get in for various reasons: corruption, a bribe to get in, political ideology, etc.
So most political hits occur with local police connivance.
Sadly Indian state does not clean up local police for a variety of reasons.
For instance, Punjab Police was known to be corrupt and ideological with a bad track record of Pathankot terrorist connivance, etc.
Yet that SP got dismissed for something else and the band goes on.
Same with Maharashtra Police.
The fact that a Commissioner of Police Parmbir Singh had his car used to threaten the biggest Indian businessman Mukesh Amani and is not hauled up for that is a mirror.

^Supporting Ramana'jis line further

* Pappini immediately called off her campaign in UP (ostensibly Wuhan virus related)
* Same can also be done to Pappini (even though Yogi might not do it, but that is not what CONgoons expect)

* AS immediately pointed out that this is done by CONgoons.

* CONgoons immediately flooded the social media and news network, initially mocking Modi, and later when the gravitas of the situation descended on them (that two can play the game and the visuals coming in) they changed tack and started blaming the SPG and all and sundry other than the Channi admin. Later coupta comes out saying the security of PM is everyone's responsibility.
* In nutshell, the CONgoon eco-system did not get the notes.

---

I too would like to send a strong message to BIF/CONgoon. However before we talk about sending strong messages, let's assess why CONgoons have done what they have done. That will enable us to actually give a more effective response.

1. All of Modi's rallies as of now in Punjab have been derailed. If the goal was to derail Modi reaching the grounds and announce several major policy initiatives in front of a huge ground. That rally is canceled. Future rallies are in the doldrums. What is CONgoons fearing that they had to take this step?

When Gen BPS Rawat passed away in an untimely manner, an entire nation came out with an outpouring. The anti-Indians were active on social network and tele networks and had to beat a hasty retreat. That is, there is a very deep and silent reservoir of Indians who understand what is going on but are not vocal.

Even now, anti-Indians made a hasty retreat.

2. CONGoons have sent a message that they will not shy away from targeting the PM. Unless they are allowed back in power for one family. What is this hold of one family on the Indian body politics? Why this hold? For whom this hold is?

3. This is not the first time Modi has been targeted. In 2014, Modi had to give a speech from a podium, while bombs were live under the podium. Remember Bihar, Gandhi Maidan?

4. In Demo, Modi clearly said that even if he is burnt alive, he will proceed with Demo. What is the result of Demo? One has to just follow the news of crores of rupees unearthed in UP right at critical juncture and the opponents going crazy.

So the threat to Modi is not new and is ever present. In fact the man himself said so at the Bhatinda airport by passing a "compliment" to the CM of Punjab,

Ambar'ji, I am sure that SPG might have given alternate plans to Modi and that included traveling by road to the alternate location (glad that Modi did not travel in inclement weather).

The local police and administration would have given the assurance that the route is sanitized in the meantime leaking the route out.

I do agree that the SPG should have realized the moment the CM was not there and would have insisted on CM being present at all times. Including the higher echelons of the admin and law.

Modi not using the armored car and being in the Toyota Fortuner might be to do with various reasons. Still, it is untenable that the PM was not in the armored car. One reason would be that traveling in an armored car might send a wrong message during the elections (like haughty Modi taking away MSP from farmers while traveling in Maybach).

A politician is in politics for power. What he will do with the power is another matter.
Nothing frustrates a politician is the knowledge that he or she can't get power.
RaGa and PrVa are both in that state.

The sad thing is NaMo was going to Ferozepore to inaugurate development projects worth Rs. 42000 crores.
Mind you Punjab GST is in the doldrums.

They don't care about development-shevelopment. The wealthy land owning class travel in their Audis and Mercs while visiting 5-star hotels in NCR every weekend for some R&R, they don't need development as long they own hundreds of acres, factories and have political connections. The land owning but poor will sell the land and pay some trafficker somehow get them to Canada, UK, Italy (yes, Italy) , Australia or US . The landless poor and the middle class as usual stand to lose the most, so they migrate to other states and talk about "glorious martial race Punjabis", so in a way not too different from West Bengal , only more richer and louder that's all. Remember Singur and how Bengal chased away the Tatas and along with them all new investments ?
