He wants to be a martyr. He expects that a personal retaliation from the big 2 will increase his value for the opposition.

He has not paid attention to the likes of the 2 Sinhas from Bihar. No retaliation will happen. Once UP elections are over and BJP has retained the state with comfortable margin he will have a simple choice. Fall in line or fall on his sword.
he and his mother are winning regularly because the two constituencies are they are standing from are have been settled with a large erstwhile sikh refugee population

the lady herself is a sardarini hence the over confidence and braggadocio of mother and son.

whereas the two predatory sinhas' were ragtag parachutists with no mass support or mass base of their own, hence they both were heavily dependant on the party mai baap for essential support services

there is another side to varun gandhi..he's literally switched to other side. Other side of ideology and religious divide. These are not GDF days so cant write here. But people can see the videos from Do politics with yati narsimhanand after the innocent boy drinking water to know more about this. He's being given the cold shoulder treatment. But the signs were seen in advance, he has never been given any major responsibility since his statement in 2007-8 period about the scary names.

He is another entitled brat. No performance. There was no need for him to talk rubbish suddenly to be a Hinduthwa icon. He hardly did any work in the parliament or in the party to merit any responsibility. He refused to say anything against his bro and bottle even when they were abusing the party.

He and his mom tried to get him projected as a CM candidate without any base. That game was open and quite naked by him. MSM of Delhi joined him. That sealed his fate.

So West has pretty much weaponised any tools it has access to hurt Russia...of course it is Russian people who are getting hurt rather than the people in Power and/or Oligarch...I am taking on a daily basis. It seems like Apple & Google Pay have stopped working on Russian Metro services...I read tweets from a couple of Russian p0r*stars who have complained that OnlyFans have blocked their accounts and are refusing to pay back their earnings (how cheap)...not sure if the bans are across pan-Russia or only few performers were affected. Anyways, point is...West have now a lot of more tools to hurt any country it chooses...many of us in India are totally reliant on WhatsApp, Google Pay, FB etc.

I was thinking of switching over to PhonePay from GPay but the recent controversy of PhonePay founders leaves a bitter taste in mouth. Any other Indian Payment App based on UPI members here recommend?

Bhim, or your regular bank's UPI.

There is also paytm, but it has other problems.

May be this is why him and mother have to utter anti modi statements during election time to win?

Politics is complex. He was given a seat considering everything he has done so far. It is not like someone is waking up to him just now.

Those artists posted them messages before certain Russian banks were banned from Swift.

Its not about wallet apps holding on to your money but more about limiting the exposure of Western apps so that whey they do their shenanigans wrt India, it wouldn't matter much beyond symbolism.

Apparently, hundreds of commuters are fumbling for cash since these Western pay apps have stopped working on Moscow Metro service.

Lesson for India. If US apps in Google store/Apple store etc. stopped working in India today like it has stopped working in Russia, what would be the consequences for the Indian economy? Until that answer is "not much" or "negligible", India has a long way to grow independently.

This phenomenon is often cited when crime rates go up, in other countries as well. For instance wrt to rape statistics. I always wondered how one can be sure it's the case of unless a multifactorial analysis is done over multiple years to eliminate coincident factors to establish causality.

Even assuming we establish crime rates did indeed go up, it still doesn't answer why?

This has been the standard refrain from GoKL and K.P for quite some time. When it comes to petty cases this is quite true. FIRs are registered for every petty offence (mainly liquor consumption related) and tracked daily. So much so that at times when a group of drunkards are arrested from the same place; two FIRs are registered by splitting the drunkards to two groups . With this the SHO can show an increase in the number of petty cases charged in the last 24 hours. There is also a benefit here; the FIRs for such offences can also be charge sheeted quickly and taken to its logical closure in 2-3 days. But there is no much clarity on the FIRs registered for more grave crimes, and the duration taken to take these to its logical closure.

Kerala Police launch ‘Operation Kaaval’, form special teams to check organised crimes. Reports such as these indicate that the anti-social elements having a free run is indeed true. The incident of migrant workers running amok in Kerala also have shooked the police establishment. The erst-while Anti-Goonda squad and LP Warrant squad have all been reactived. The CPI(M) led GoKL had demobilised such squads, after perhaps realising that many of the comrades/party cadre would be in the list of goons and bail/warrant jumpers.
vimal wrote:Most KL folks i know think that all the migrant workers are from north, not realizing that these are almost 100% beedis.
This could be part of a two-pronged strategy, IMHO. By categorising migrant workers being from Northern states (i.e it is assumed that they would be from UP, Bihar - i.e cow belt); the local politicians and media can use that show these states are poverty ridden. Pretty much politicians in KL need to be seen as minority-friendly so they also want to hide the fact that large number of migrant labour population are from West Bengal (or worse illegal immigrants Bangladesh).

Comments from some of the students who were flown by GoI makes me sick to my stomach...absolutely no sense of gratitude and all sense of entitlement. I get the appeal to be neutral & bring forward all voices, but I do hope that some channels (yes you rndtv) at least develop some sense of nationalism...all they can do is ask whey students did not leave when GoI issued advisories starting from Feb 15th (quite possible those questions were asked by reporters but I didn't bother to finish the videos because initial impressions itself were disgusting...) Basically, a couple of students are saying that they received help only after crossing in to friendly territory & GoI can't claim it evacuated students from Ukraine.

Advisories from GoI were issued right from Feb 15th...I bet most of the students (& people after leaving India) continue & increase the disdain they have towards their motherland and with those sentiments, they would have ignored and not considered GoI's advisories seriously. And when the shelling started, these people started crying hoarse and in a war zone (with air space closed)...GoI did whatever it could (lots of diplomatic channels to make sure Indian students are not harmed in a situation where some Ukrainians were being racist) to get these students to friendly countries and fly them home for free. I guess some of these students expected Indian SF to paradrop in to a warzone and personally escort/carry each student back to India.

Haven't seen the videos but we can expect rNDTV to give a negative spin to everything that this Govt does. For all we know, only a small % of students might be ingrates but rNDTV will make it sound like the majority opinion.

But yes, ingrates do exist - both students and their parents

From the general pattern I observed. The 'students' who go to these countries seems to be only having one thing; money. They are a group who feels that any thing including a medical degree (but not the ethics) can be given to them if they pay money. These are folks who never could get an MBBS seat in the tough competitive exams in India. So the sense of entitlement plus perhaps a feeling that India could not provide them medical seats (even when they had money) might have caused this disdain. To be frank, the same disdain may continue if these folks actually come back to India and starts their medical (?) practise here.

In Kerala a news channel had managed to get a 'medical student' from Kerala who was holed up in a bunker to give a live feed. He was speaking loudly and some local Ukranian folks asked him to shut up. Ignoring that, this fellow makes a statement (in Malayalam ;)) - "Who is this Ukranian fellow to stop me from speaking! Is this his father's country?". The Ukranians did not know Malayalam, or else the 'medical student' will not have come out of the bunker intact.

The statements and demands to take pets in flights etc, all prove that these folks are not really poor in any way. They are milking a situation to their advantage.
Prem Kumar wrote:Haven't seen the videos but we can expect rNDTV to give a negative spin to everything that this Govt does.
Yes, this was expected. This was not the first time GoI under BJP did these rescue missions and each time they seem to do it better. And now it is expected that main stream media and the liberal & secular gang will try to spin negatives stories out of it. The politicians have realised the positive image which the BJP is getting and thus we see states like TN sending state level ministers to the region.

18-25 age is of rebellion and arrogance. I wouldn't read too much about the students as it's just their age speaking out.

Such age people have a idealistic image of the world, and not aware of harsh reality/truths. Their political opinions will often change.

Now the political argument has shifted to the indecisive advisories by GoI starting from 15th...some liberal folks are saying that any sane student would chose to stay and continue the courses when GoI issues ambivalent and indecisive advisories. Further it seems like students started sending in messages (perhaps on Twitter) asking Indian Embassy in Kiev/Ukraine about online classes and on Feb 22nd, GoI issued a "decisive" advisory asking students to evacuate Ukraine but it was challenging due to high cost of airline fees (by that time GoI had started to arrange increasing frequency of flights from Ukraine to India)...

Correction: he asked “is this his dad’s property”

This excreta of a human is a true-believer called Ousaf Hussein from malabar. Guy looked like he can’t get out of bed in the morning without a puff of his inhaler. But wanted to pick a fight with the adidas-clad types in a shelter.

Also don’t know if you saw a second video of the idiot? He says he went out to get…. Drumroll…. shawarma and then tried to record Ukrainian soldiers in his phone. Those guys were nicer than the other “Adidasovs” of that region, so they asked him to wipe his phone clean off the recordings. He boasts how he thought he will become a “shaheed” at the hands of Ukrainian soldiers etc

An earlier, third video talks about his not being able to find halal shawarma etc

I bet he is being actively goaded on by the douches infesting the Malayalam TV channels to record sensitive things in a war zone so they can scream “scoop” at us later in the evening shows. All the better if this malabar Dingleberry Finn gets blown to bits after provoking soldiers in the middle of his war adventures <facepalm>

In Malayalam, but an acquaintance (bonafide photo journalist) made an epic analysis of the douche

So when will Gujarat government change the shitty name Ahmedabad to Karnavati? What is their frigging issue for not doing it inspite of having BJP administration for so long??

Same goes with the last BJP/SS government administration in Maharashtra. Can you believe there is a city there named after Aurangazeb (Aurangabad) which was supposed to be renamed to Sambajinagar (after Shivaji's son Sambaji).

Good start by KA BJP Govt. but how are they doing it? Enact a legislation or repeal existing laws? Dharmic pressure will lead to other states contemplating similar moves.

I'm expecting some left leaning Hindu luminaries to challenge KA Govt in court egged on by BIFs and adharmic govts of TN, AP, WB etc. That will only help bring more visibility to the issue and force the center to bring a pan-India legislation.

Suraj and KLNM jis,
Your interpretation (in the Ukraine thread) regarding the note in Indian passport is right, it addresses foreign officials; I did some digging and stand corrected. The note itself is a carryover from British colonial era when HMTQ could haughtily request and require. Doesnt mean much today. Cheers !

I always thought India and Pukistan are the only two nations on earth that seem to live on forever in a Stockholm syndrome loving the oppressors and having some sort of a romantic nostalgia about the barbarians who looted, killed, butchered and converted our ancestors. I am glad to find out we have countries such as Ukraine exists that was overrun a mere 75 yrs ago by nazis, who committed some of the worst atrocities of the war against slavics, and yet the Ukrainians seem to not just harbor a soft corner for those who burned their children but display their outright admiration for their killers by having framed photographs of nazi officers at homes ! Is there a reason why there are so many pro-nazi Ukrainians ?

The purges and famines caused by Stalin and communists caused a strong resentment against the USSR many Ukrainian's saw Germans as liberators. This was a common phenomenon in nearly all of western USSR.

What changed the position of citizens of those regions was the scale of atrocities which made the communists look like a bunch of boy scouts.

Inspite of that a lot of Ukrainians acted as guard's in the concentration camp system. They also killed marshal Vatutin in 1944.

We have seen the same elements in action in and since 2014 till date.
