After the Assembly election loss, I think getting bills passed in Rajya Sabha is going to get more difficult. Now is the time to strike (before RS elections from lost states). Nobody knows what will happen in 2024.

I think the mistake here is that you are looking at the above shows as "debates". No, the show is purposefully a cacophony to generate sound bites that can be later milked for money. The more outrage factor it creates, the more money the show earns and the more viewership, thus the TRP.

It is a ratings and money game. And that is why all the so-called debates is a cacophony. People watch it to just see who beats whom. It is professional wrestling with Indian context.

India is a 140 crore people company. If even 1% like the mental & emotional "professional wrestling" going on in the so called "debates" on Indian TVs, that is still 14 million people.

Hence coming back and asking for a suave in such debates is like sending Olympic wrestlers (who come under 'amateur' category) to American Professional Wrestling (which is just a show) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monday_Night_Wars for TRP ratings.

Sanju Verma is the right person for such "dhobi pachad" (basically a thrashing wet clothes on stone to eke the dirt out) and Turdesai is only trying to increase his TRP ratings which is at the bottom of bakistan.

It was an enjoyable moment when Sanju Verma calls out Turdesai as a Deaf, Dumb and Blind Monkey (no offense to the monkeys) and the rest of the "panel" look on. Remember, Turdesai brings in Bilkis Bano (2002 Godhra) and asks for Modi's comments on a case which the courts have already decided (and no Modi was not a respondent here). What has that to do with UCC?

I think Sanju handled it very well. The rest is a show. Enjoy and move on.

The real situation in Maharashtra as LS 2024 approaches: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3OvMiU1OzA

Overall, very deft maneuvering by BJP. It looks like the ground is being prepared for another NDA sweep in MH.

As I said before, BJP is slowly dismantling all the family-business state parties.

Thakre didn't know what hit him. He is probably still trying to find how many new holes he has.

Charade Pawar knows the NCP is going down but can do very little about it. The nephew Ajit is ready to leave at the earliest signal from the BJP. The daughter Supriya is a total greenhorn and will go down even quicker than Thakre. Charade is even ready to merge with BJP if he is promised PM or Prez post.

Even Ashok Chavan (INC) is likely trying to get into BJP.

MVA will not exist (or may exist in name only) by the time LS 2024 comes around.

We need to track the monsoon and its delay.
Arun S had looked at El Nino this year and possible monsoon delays.

FCI is not releasing grains as people need food stuff at right time and not for Congress freebies.

i personally cannot watch any discussion involving sanju verma, nothing personal, i watched a couple and could not continue further, she starts grinning and laughing by the time the anchor is just about finishing his opening monologue, and then laughs / sniggers throughout without giving any meaningful rebuttal. Another luminary is shazia illmi, currently in bjp, high on rhetoric, lean on facts and figures, perfect description for spokespersons in her previous party, aap.

Another rather poor spokesperson for the bjp is gaurav bhatia, prefers browbeating to a clean debate, is easily distracted. Ajay alok, formerly of the jdu, is decent, combative and armed with facts. Shehzad poonawalla is also good, he mixes facts and trolling and always tries to get a rise off the opponent while putting forward his point. Nalin Kohli with his serious and gruff demeanor is one of the best, the top post though should go to sudhanshu trivedi, who is more google than man, and mixes this accuracy with impromptu poetry.

The amrikis are still pushing hard, hoping to strike while the iron is still hot and is it a "Make in India" for the world sort of effort

The F-16s that was being offered to India, the block 70 variant, which has now been rechristened as the F-21, is allegedly a whole different beast from the block 50 that Pakistan has. But LM failed to evoke any interest in India

so are they setting up a supply chain/logistics support hub in India to cater to LMs' other F-16 customers.....or what....
"Two officials in ministries handling the issue confirmed that the proposal for setting up an assembly line for F-16 fighters in India was discussed during PM Modi’s visit to the US earlier this month."
https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/ ... 580799.ece

The trustworthiness of the amrikis (or rather the lack of it), and the fact that the F-16s first rolled off the assembly lines in 1976, makes it rather long in the tooth, and these two factors are more than enough to kill any interest in this bird

Not much of upgradeability left in the old lady now

Based on what I am seeing today.

With the numbers being quoted for Congress in such opinion polls.

I will be shocked, if they receive more than 60 seats.

A lot of work needs to be done by the Congress to cross 100.

The most important of which is for Rahul Gandhi or another member of the family to contest and wrest Amethi from Smriti Irani.

If the Congress can't do that. All projections and presentations won't amount to anything.

Rahul may be targeting 2029 and not 2024. Congress must not exist in whatever form in that timeframe, BJP should "democratic backslide" if required to accomplish that goal.

First time using the strike function.

Added and changed my numbers.

The numbers for North east and Kerala are not there. So totals will not be reaching 545.

Unless the Congress assimilates the break away function. The numbers don't look like reaching beyond 60+/-5.

pappu and his "advisors" was gobsmacked when the results of the 2019 elections came out.

One was very curious then as to why he had reacted in such a wonky fashion when the writing was already there on the wall as to the results of the elections, even before the votes were actually cast.

the toolkit gangs were already in play before and during the 2019 elections but we were not as aware as we may be now regarding these things, especially the methodologies and inimical entities involved

the little eyetalian gaddar had been assured even at that time that "they" would fix the elections for him and that attempt was apparently covert and subterranean.

This time the regime change/regime curtailment efforts are a lot more overt, over ground, and in your face, with "they" not caring a damn about who knows it and hence the jihadi vermin who came crawling out of the woodwork to host and fete the eyetalian gaddar

But there seems to be a dichotomy in certain circles in amrika with obummer in favour of the toolkit (which was very apparent when he "spoke" out) and the bidenwa handlers, not so much in the way that they have seemingly distanced themselves from obummer

Where else in the world would a country with an economy like India's, its potential, its future prospects and acknowledged military power to make its mark in the world, accept a white skinned mafia family to direct its efforts to making itself a vassal state, a slave nation like it was during its tortured and bloody colonial past to its BIF masters

the cheen have their hooks deep into this famiglia mafiosa, and the amrikis are concerned about the vital Indo pacific region which they cannot allow the cheen to dominate

So, it's becoming a little difficult to distinguish who is the hare and who is the hound but one thing for sure, India is the prey that the two sides have targeted.

Pratyush ji, come what may, the famiglia mafiosa is out of UP. there is no support for them there.

amethi and raebareli were won regularly by the famiglia mafiosa because the other parties in UP allowed them to do so by putting up non serious or weak candidates.

YA is in charge now and Smriti Irani is too big a force for the famiglia mafiosa to handle on their own.

The scope and pace of development in amethi is there for all to see and that alone is enough to sink any prospects nurtured by the famiglia mafiosa in UP.

That is why they are seeking safe sanctuaries with assured vote banks in which the BJP has no influence and such vote banks are jihadi only vote banks...

the toolkit gang is pushing up the numbers to create a fake perception in India.

Expect the same narrative to kick in with India's global rankings coming down drastically, as well as, Modi's popularity rankings

I hope these louts from Rashtravadi party don’t join the BJP rather support from outside. These extortionists should never be allowed in.

Apparently Powerfuls love for his daughter has done him in. Ajit was being sidelined when she was given the main role in the party.

Yesterday, Penguin’s close confidante also joined Shinde… at this rate there will be no opposition left.

People really underestimate Devendra Fadnavis at their own peril. He is a smart operator.

To convince the Supreme Court to set up two vacation benches, one late on Saturday evening, the other hours later on Saturday night, you have to belong to an ecosystem that is out of office but not out of power.

More on MH:

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/ind ... 432071.cms

So this is a move similar to Shinde's own move last year. Ajit is claiming overwhelming support in the NCP. Both Ajit and Shinde say NCP will be the "third engine" of the government. So we are looking at BJP-SS-NCP goremint. Quite remarkable, since there will be effectively no opposition. It is doubtful whether INC + Thakre can win even one LS seat.

In my view Charade Pawar knows and anticipates all this, he is just making a public show of disapproval. This is his way of trying to resolve the succession problem without looking like he is taking sides. He will probably do one of two charades:

- "Take blessings from all including god" and allow Ajit to take the whole NCP. Supriya will fade away slowly since Charade knows she has no political skills.

- Or he will put up some token fight and Ajit will need to approach the EC to be recognized as the real NCP. Charade will give the remnants of his NCP to Supriya, who will fail miserably and then admit defeat, leading to the same final result as above.

SC observed what was the alarming urgency? On a related note, I wish some one would ask the SC the same question: What was the alarming urgency? For the SC to set up 2 separate benches to hear Teesta Setalvad the same evening? :P

Hundreds to lose jobs at George Soros' foundation after son's takeover
The succession of the Open Society Foundations previously controlled by controversial billionaire businessman George Soros to his son Alexander Soros has had a downsizing effect on the company, quite literally.

The New York headquartered 'Non-Governmental Organisation' is preparing to downsize its workforce by at least 40 per cent, it has emerged.

The announcement of these layoffs was made jointly by Alexander Soros and the foundation's president, Mark Malloch-Brown, as they revealed plans for significant changes in the organisation's operating model.

According to the statement, the Board aims to revamp operations across the world to create a more responsive organisation capable of addressing 'pressing challenges'.

At present, the Open Society Foundations employs approximately 800 staff members worldwide.

A spokesperson for the foundation said in a statement the new vision required making difficult decisions and that they intend to reduce the headcount by at least 40 per cent globally

At the end of the day all the honorable CJI can do here is virtue signaling to whoever. The wheels of justice in this case are inexorable. The SC had already given her 10 months bail in Sep 2022. Another week of relief and maybe a final appeal, OK...there is no way the SC can reverse the verdict on this watertight case - especially since the same SC had already dismissed her previous appeal and made very unfavorable remarks on her misdeeds. She will go to prison soon.

Clearly the BJP's Washing Machine has resumed its operations. A number of new entrants into the BJP-led alliance in Maharashtra today had been facing serious corruption charges with ED, CBI and Income Tax authorities after them.

Now they have all got a clean chit.

The Congress will intensify its efforts to free Maharashtra from the clutches of the BJP.

To convince the Supreme Court to set up two vacation benches, one late on Saturday evening, the other hours later on Saturday night, you have to belong to an ecosystem that is out of office but not out of power.
Interesting wording this even an oridnary criminal. A criminal is a criminal is a criminal. or is it the honorable judges' contention that she is an extraordinary criminal - a criminal capable of committing extraoridnary crimes?!!!

Great update analyzing the NCP joining NDA and overall MH politics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OHnycErGCo

And a certain prediction on the fate of Nitishwa and the JDU, which will fall apart before LS 2024. BJP has done an excellent job gathering electoral strength after the split from JDU. It will be "M+Y+some kurmis" (i.e. RJD+) versus all others (NDA). Not only has the BJP's own vote base increased, but it has successfully roped in several of the small parties. JDU on the other hand is headed for a split, with some going to RJD and the rest probably to BJP.

Nitishwa himself has no chance of winning a seat from Bihar in LS 2024, and is now foolishly counting on Akhilesh Yadav to help him win an eastern UP seat.
